Speaker 1 (00:00):
Robin Teri Kip on Brisbane's.
Speaker 2 (00:03):
Three, trying to find out if this guy's a catfisher
or what's going on with the Italian stallion get Api Dave.
Speaker 3 (00:11):
Warning, guys, how are you very good?
Speaker 1 (00:14):
Okay? What have you found out about the Straight to It?
Speaker 2 (00:17):
Straight to It?
Speaker 3 (00:19):
So, firstly, Robin, we checked out the name that this
gentleman has provided to you, and probably no surprises here
that that name actually does not exist and there is
no person by the name in Queensland that he has
provided to you.
Speaker 1 (00:35):
Well, I can now say it because it doesn't belong
to anyone.
Speaker 2 (00:38):
Yeah, yes, yes, is that how it works?
Speaker 1 (00:40):
Well, he told me his name is James.
Speaker 3 (00:41):
We'll say that, okay, So that name certainly doesn't exist
on any sort of databases anywhere in the state of Queensland.
So I'm one hundred percent confident that that's a false
name that he's using. We then went and did some
checks on the phone number that he was utilizing to
communicate with you, and lo and behind it is registered
to a real person living let's just say, on the
(01:05):
South side of.
Speaker 1 (01:06):
Brisbane, okay, living in the same suburb that he gave me.
Speaker 3 (01:10):
Very close but not the same one.
Speaker 1 (01:12):
Right.
Speaker 3 (01:13):
Wow, interesting, and I've done some searches on the real
name that the phone is registered to. Again, you're probably
not going to be surprised that it's not a forty
seven year old man like he advised you. It's actually
a twenty seven year old male person.
Speaker 2 (01:28):
Interesting.
Speaker 1 (01:29):
Are those photos him?
Speaker 3 (01:31):
No, well, the photos we haven't able to ascertained too
much there. They don't exist in any sort of imaging
data bases as such that there's nothing in regards to
his photo. However, the name of the real owner of
the phone is actually the same person and the same
name that was provided to your neighbor Bella, exactly the
(01:52):
same person.
Speaker 2 (01:53):
Oh so Bella actually got approached. He gave a different
name than Robin, but that's the actual name of the
person with that number at that address.
Speaker 3 (02:01):
Yeah, well he's a little bit cage. He was using
Instagram and what's that sort of stuff. So he's used nearly,
let's just say, an exact name of what he's provided
to your naghbor, but just a tiny little difference. Yeah,
one hundred percent confident that that is the same person
that she was communicating with.
Speaker 1 (02:18):
Why why is he doing this?
Speaker 3 (02:20):
That's the question. That's a million dollar question.
Speaker 2 (02:22):
I guess do you think p I Dave in your
experience that this person in South Brisbane with that phone
number and that name, there's a chance that they don't
realize they're being used as a front or whatever else
and they don't realize this is happening. Or do you
think that person is the actual person setting the messages?
Speaker 3 (02:38):
Yeah, I think that person is actually the legitimate person there.
He's using that phone number, so we've done some background
checks on him and he definitely resides there, definitely, you know,
has a platform of social media by different things. So
I said, I'm confident it's the same person.
Speaker 1 (02:56):
Bella is my age? Like, what is this both doing?
Speaker 2 (02:59):
What's the end game?
Speaker 1 (03:01):
Because he's not asking for money at this point. Yes,
and if he's a real person using is we don't
know real image, but certainly his real phone, then he's trackable.
So that number that we then called and beeped out,
that's his number, Like.
Speaker 3 (03:13):
That's him and that's him, that's the guy.
Speaker 1 (03:16):
Pojav hasn't broken the law, has he?
Speaker 3 (03:19):
No, that's right, that's exactly right. He's provided a false
name and a false age, but I'm pretty certain he
wouldn't be the only guy in Brison that did that
on the weekend, so he hadn't known anything at all.
Speaker 1 (03:29):
Yeah, So what do you do in this situation? Nothing,
There's nothing I can do.
Speaker 3 (03:33):
Well, I guess. I suppose you could call him out
if that's what you wanted to do in regards to
you know, send him another text or something like that.
String him along and see if he does want to
meet for that coffee and you know, in a public
place where you've got a bit of safety. Go along there,
see if he turns up, and see what his story is.
I mean, that's one alternative, I guess, and see what
his intentions are there.
Speaker 2 (03:51):
I'm just watching Robin's face to see as how do
you feel about the idea of stringing him out?
Speaker 1 (03:56):
I think I think he's gone to ground because I
did send him a message saying that we wanted to
speak to him when we first kind of identified him,
and he never responded. We can try again, we can
try and call him again, but I think he's running
scared because what's interesting here is that potentially my next
move could break the law. He hasn't.
Speaker 2 (04:15):
Yeah, so I could be accused.
Speaker 1 (04:16):
Of going to his house and stoking him because exactly.
Speaker 3 (04:20):
Yeah, so I go down the line if you really
wanted to find answers and you were happy to do it,
I mean, the only line I would probably recommend is
to meet him in a public place and you know,
of his own free will for that coffee. If that's
an option.
Speaker 1 (04:33):
Kip thinks it's an option.
Speaker 2 (04:35):
I'm one hundred percent comfortable with.
Speaker 1 (04:40):
You're so good at your job, Dave, Thank you so much.
Speaker 3 (04:44):
Pleasure guys.
Speaker 2 (04:46):
If we can help again, wid Dave os trace investigations
by the way, Yeah, yeah, if you've got a question,
he's got answers. So what do you want to do? Do
you want to try and call again at least?
Speaker 1 (04:58):
Well, let's okay, let's let's try his mobile once more. Yep,
because the other option like, why are you doing this? Mate?
Why are you lying about your age? And why have
you got my number?
Speaker 2 (05:09):
Maybe you'll tell us after this as Uncle Cracker drift away,
It's Robin Terry and Kip Kisses ninety seven to three
eight twenty six. So if you've missed it, over the
last couple of weeks, Robin started getting text messages from
random You never never met him before, and never seen
him before.
Speaker 1 (05:27):
And as I was engaging with him on that first
kind of meeting on text, I was trying to find
out who he was, and he reckoned he'd never heard
of me, didn't know what I did or who I
was or anything like that, and then asked me out
on a date. But the photos he sent I knew
you straight off. He wasn't a forty seven year old man,
is what he is claiming. And p I Dave has
just proven that this particular person is twenty seven years.
Speaker 2 (05:49):
Old, does live in Brisbane though, and the phone number
is real and it is somewhat as owned by a
twenty seven year old man in Brisbane. So we thought,
let's try and call again and see if we can
work out exactly what this person's is. So we're fine,
I'm right here, all right, Let's call.
Speaker 1 (06:09):
Hello. Hello?
Speaker 2 (06:14):
What's that he's deleted?
Speaker 1 (06:17):
Is Drick?
Speaker 2 (06:17):
He's deleted his voicemail?
Speaker 1 (06:19):
Yeah? I think he has. I think he has one
hundred percent. Okay, man, the plant beacons. Dude, who are you?
What are you doing?
Speaker 2 (06:28):
Do you want to have you tried texting again?
Speaker 1 (06:31):
I'm starting to get angry. I'm actually starting to get
really angry, because what you guys need to understand too
is that we have had to be really careful as
a radio station, and our lawyers have had to be
involved in how this unfolds because we have to protect
his identity. So I can't actually tell you the name
that the other name that we know that he's used.
(06:51):
I can't tell you what Suburbs is in because if
I do that, we could be in trouble.
Speaker 2 (06:57):
Even though we know he's a liar.
Speaker 1 (06:58):
It's weird, isn't it, And yet she has the right
to Yeah, like I just it makes me angry.
Speaker 2 (07:04):
Yeah, thirteen one oh six five's out of number. If ever,
you want to get involved with the show, do you
think we should go somewhere further with this, like try
and organize a meeting or are you receiving messages from
someone who sounds similar to this person?
Speaker 1 (07:16):
Or should I just let it go and let this
guy do it to the next person who I can't
even tell you who it is in case it happens
to you.
Speaker 2 (07:22):
Yeah, thirteen one oh six five's out number. Will get
the news. Next kiss is ninety seven three.
Speaker 1 (07:26):
It's involven Terry and kid on Dristbone's Kiss ninety seven
three
