Speaker 1 (00:00):
Coming up at the top of the hour, we have
a treat for you, especially for the ladies this morning.
Our special guests will be the one and only Tank.
That's right, Tanks and he's got a brand new single
before we get started. It's called a big Tour. To
tell us about all of that at the top of

(00:21):
the hour, but right now it is time to ask
the clo. This is from Rondell in Atworth. Rondell says,
I've been with my girlfriend for two years and I
pay her rent. She wanted me to relocate to Atlanta
to be with her, and I asked if I could
stay with her for two weeks. She said no. I
didn't expect her to be this selfish. Should I rethink

(00:44):
our relationship?

Speaker 2 (00:45):
You absolutely should. I'm paying your rent and then you
asked me to come. Did she ask him to live
with her in Atlanta?

Speaker 1 (00:55):
No? No, she yeah, she just wants, you know, for
him to come down and relocate to relocate to Atlanta.

Speaker 3 (01:03):
And he said, can I stay with you for two weeks?

Speaker 1 (01:05):
Two weeks?

Speaker 2 (01:06):
She said no, bruh, these rent payments cease immediately.

Speaker 1 (01:12):
Yah.

Speaker 2 (01:13):
Yeah, listen to me. Even now you all may have
to stay with me on this. But even in benefit packages.
There are things called benefit packages that men provide for
women who are not their steady, and they have them
benefit packages, and they come in the gold, silver, and platinum,

(01:34):
and anytime you get rent, you're up into the silver platinum.

Speaker 3 (01:40):
Rent help is a gold package.

Speaker 2 (01:43):
But if a man provides you an athlete or entertainer
provides you with a silver or platinum package where they
pay the rent, that always come with the stimulation stipulation
that I can come by there. You have been given
out unbeknownst to yourself. You've been given out either a
silver or platinum package. Therefore you should be entitled to

(02:04):
stay there. This stuff right here, I've heard about so
many times. I don't know how it's coming to my
mind like this, but I've people talking about it, and
you have been passing. So you heard you have benefit
the life and so in the silver platinum packages you
should always be allowed to go by there on call
platinum you damn to stay there, and nothing no one

(02:27):
else is loud or silver is you know?

Speaker 3 (02:31):
We got it.

Speaker 1 (02:32):
Clearly he doesn't know the rules. Yeah here young, all right, yeah, package,
stop the rent payments, all right.

Speaker 3 (02:42):
And I'm moving to think the relationship. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (02:45):
Moving on to Erica and Tacoma, Erica writes, my work
husband is getting married and I was cool with his wife.
She hand delivered my invitation and said she is cutting
off the work wives and female friends. I jokingly said
I'd share him with her. She uninvited me.

Speaker 4 (03:03):
Why can't she take a joke?

Speaker 2 (03:05):
Uh?

Speaker 3 (03:06):
How you thought that was funny?

Speaker 4 (03:08):
It was, Yeah, I'll share him with you.

Speaker 1 (03:12):
Girl?

Speaker 4 (03:13):
What this was no time for you to start your
stand up career? This yeah, not the town out of
the web.

Speaker 3 (03:21):
She can't take a joke.

Speaker 1 (03:25):
Oh well, I'm cool with my work husband's wife, me
and Jackie.

Speaker 4 (03:34):
Oh jacket. Oh, I keep buying that popcorn.

Speaker 1 (03:38):
Yeah, supporting the kids.

Speaker 3 (03:45):
Because I was looking at you calling Tosh can't have
a work wife. No he can't, but I could have
work I was just calling Tosh, can't have a work wife.

Speaker 4 (03:58):
No, no, no, but Tommy is my work husband.

Speaker 3 (04:01):
We're gonna get a divorce soon though, because.

Speaker 4 (04:05):
Because I won't do right. Yeah, don't right?

Speaker 3 (04:10):
All good?

Speaker 4 (04:10):
Oh all right.

Speaker 1 (04:13):
Moving on to uh Tanasha and Shreveport, Tanasha says, I
get so turned off because my new guy has a
smell whenever he gets overly excited while we're intimate, it
gets increasingly worse. So I told him, and uh, he said,
I don't smell like roses either. I was trying to
how why did he get so defensive?

Speaker 2 (04:35):
Well, let me help both of y'all out here. That's
just an opportunity to help both of y'all. When y'all
get together. It's what's called the FS.

Speaker 4 (04:46):
What is that?

Speaker 3 (04:48):
That's a funky situation.

Speaker 2 (04:51):
So when y'all to get together, them endormed and everything
that's coming out in difference and homorphodites and all of
that that y'all got going on is swelling up and
it's producing a mile odorous functatiousness. And you all, I

(05:12):
think you all need loom me. Looony is looking. I've
seen this commercial on TV.

Speaker 3 (05:16):
You might want to.

Speaker 2 (05:17):
Try loom me because Louy looks like it works everywhere.
And they got looming for men now, So so y'all
can just go down there that same isle and get
the girl's version and the man's version and it goes
from on to your pits to your privates, and that's
what the commercial says, From your pits to your private
y'all don't need to just have it before y'all get started.

Speaker 3 (05:39):
Just sit there and just get both hands snapped it
up and just love it.

Speaker 4 (05:43):
Loo me down, loot me.

Speaker 3 (05:48):
I a song, loom me down some lu.

Speaker 4 (05:57):
Me down for sure.

Speaker 3 (06:00):
You knew me on me right there?

Speaker 2 (06:06):
I keep it all over me all right, pu me
on me everywhere.

Speaker 1 (06:15):
We're gonna sitt yeah, okay, okay, little me down all right?
Last one, Steve, last one.

Speaker 3 (06:24):
All right, this is thank you commercial thanks.

Speaker 1 (06:29):
This is from Catherine and Gary. All right, last one.

Speaker 4 (06:34):
She says.

Speaker 1 (06:34):
I'm in a group of my peers and we take
a bus to the casino once a month. My male
friend usually saves a seat for me next to him
on the bus. There was a new lady next to
him this week, and he barely spoke to me. Do
I let him know that my feelings were hurt? Or
do I wait to see what he does next week?

Speaker 2 (06:53):
You can go ahead and that fine lady gonna be
in that seat next week. See you see your little
male friend. Y'all just friends, y'all, ain't friends with benefits.
Y'all just going down there to gamble. And I think
it's hurt for you know, he could have said, hey, baby, look,
you know listen, I got up. I don't know how
he could explain it to you. I got a way

(07:14):
to explain that. Let's see this field, you know.

Speaker 1 (07:17):
Yeah, he can tell you better. I can show you
better than I can tell you.

Speaker 3 (07:21):
That was one of those.

Speaker 2 (07:21):
Situations I know what kind of hurt you. But then
you know, going down there. I'll tell you what when
you hit that jackpot with the nickel, just hog.

Speaker 3 (07:29):
The nickels to see what the nickels all about. Forty
five dollars, sixteen thousand nickels.

Speaker 2 (07:41):
They forty dollars, hollering like they didn't hit the pile ball.
I've been in Casino when it happened. They on the
nickel machine. Now why they're on that bus. See if
you down there at the crap table, you was down
there the high roller section. You ain't got to take
the bus down there. You on that bus, that weekly bus.
They go down there, so them nickel quarter people, quarter people, okay,

(08:04):

Speaker 4 (08:11):

the top.

The Burden

The Burden

The Burden is a documentary series that takes listeners into the hidden places where justice is done (and undone). It dives deep into the lives of heroes and villains. And it focuses a spotlight on those who triumph even when the odds are against them. Season 5 - The Burden: Death & Deceit in Alliance On April Fools Day 1999, 26-year-old Yvonne Layne was found murdered in her Alliance, Ohio home. David Thorne, her ex-boyfriend and father of one of her children, was instantly a suspect. Another young man admitted to the murder, and David breathed a sigh of relief, until the confessed murderer fingered David; “He paid me to do it.” David was sentenced to life without parole. Two decades later, Pulitzer winner and podcast host, Maggie Freleng (Bone Valley Season 3: Graves County, Wrongful Conviction, Suave) launched a “live” investigation into David's conviction alongside Jason Baldwin (himself wrongfully convicted as a member of the West Memphis Three). Maggie had come to believe that the entire investigation of David was botched by the tiny local police department, or worse, covered up the real killer. Was Maggie correct? Was David’s claim of innocence credible? In Death and Deceit in Alliance, Maggie recounts the case that launched her career, and ultimately, “broke” her.” The results will shock the listener and reduce Maggie to tears and self-doubt. This is not your typical wrongful conviction story. In fact, it turns the genre on its head. It asks the question: What if our champions are foolish? Season 4 - The Burden: Get the Money and Run “Trying to murder my father, this was the thing that put me on the path.” That’s Joe Loya and that path was bank robbery. Bank, bank, bank, bank, bank. In season 4 of The Burden: Get the Money and Run, we hear from Joe who was once the most prolific bank robber in Southern California, and beyond. He used disguises, body doubles, proxies. He leaped over counters, grabbed the money and ran. Even as the FBI was closing in. It was a showdown between a daring bank robber, and a patient FBI agent. Joe was no ordinary bank robber. He was bright, articulate, charismatic, and driven by a dark rage that he summoned up at will. In seven episodes, Joe tells all: the what, the how… and the why. Including why he tried to murder his father. Season 3 - The Burden: Avenger Miriam Lewin is one of Argentina’s leading journalists today. At 19 years old, she was kidnapped off the streets of Buenos Aires for her political activism and thrown into a concentration camp. Thousands of her fellow inmates were executed, tossed alive from a cargo plane into the ocean. Miriam, along with a handful of others, will survive the camp. Then as a journalist, she will wage a decades long campaign to bring her tormentors to justice. Avenger is about one woman’s triumphant battle against unbelievable odds to survive torture, claim justice for the crimes done against her and others like her, and change the future of her country. Season 2 - The Burden: Empire on Blood Empire on Blood is set in the Bronx, NY, in the early 90s, when two young drug dealers ruled an intersection known as “The Corner on Blood.” The boss, Calvin Buari, lived large. He and a protege swore they would build an empire on blood. Then the relationship frayed and the protege accused Calvin of a double homicide which he claimed he didn’t do. But did he? Award-winning journalist Steve Fishman spent seven years to answer that question. This is the story of one man’s last chance to overturn his life sentence. He may prevail, but someone’s gotta pay. The Burden: Empire on Blood is the director’s cut of the true crime classic which reached #1 on the charts when it was first released half a dozen years ago. Season 1 - The Burden In the 1990s, Detective Louis N. Scarcella was legendary. In a city overrun by violent crime, he cracked the toughest cases and put away the worst criminals. “The Hulk” was his nickname. Then the story changed. Scarcella ran into a group of convicted murderers who all say they are innocent. They turned themselves into jailhouse-lawyers and in prison founded a lway firm. When they realized Scarcella helped put many of them away, they set their sights on taking him down. And with the help of a NY Times reporter they have a chance. For years, Scarcella insisted he did nothing wrong. But that’s all he’d say. Until we tracked Scarcella to a sauna in a Russian bathhouse, where he started to talk..and talk and talk. “The guilty have gone free,” he whispered. And then agreed to take us into the belly of the beast. Welcome to The Burden.
