As any man can attest, there are some questions you
just don't answer. I was just hit with one of those,
and now I'm in the doghouse for refusing to even
take part in the conversation. Last night at dinner, my
wife asked, if there was a house fire and you

could only rescue one of us, who would you choose
as a point of reference. In our house, there's me,
my wife, our two daughters, and a dog. My response
was simply that there's no way to possibly answer that
question because I don't know where I would be in
the house, what was blocking the exit, and where everyone
else in the house was located. I think it's a

trap question to which there's no right answer. So I
bowed out of the conversation completely. Now she's not talking
to me. How can I end this silent treatment?

Speaker 2 (00:55):
All you got to do a stay. Look, I don't
want you to take a bad father, but I definitely
would have to come and get you, whether you mean
it or not. Whether you mean it or not, say so,
I'm gonna get these third degree burns all the way
across over there to go get her and damn there down. Well,
you know you gotta sometimes talking to your wife. You

don't have to you don't have to tell the truth.
Sometimes you have to tell them what they want to hear. See,
that's what it is. I'm like, okay, I like that.
You know why not? Now, well we can go process
with the naga. I can tell you right now, the
dog ain't gonna make he need to do something. He

needs to get the dog in whatever dogs do to
say their damn like, that's what he needs to get
to do. But now them kids and that wife, and
I would just tell my wife, I'll come get you mane.
So you would get the wife perds over the kids.
That's the question. Well, you know that's what she's That's
what I would tell her if she is okay, And

then you can get mad at me for not going
to kids. But then I tell you, but I love you.

You know what he should have said that than what
he said.

I wasn't mad at what he said because a lot
of that is true, you know what he said about
depending on where he wasn't.

think it's right he should get the wife first.

I think I did say that you should get the
wife first. But I wasn't mad at his answer either.
Had he said the wife first, that's all. That's what
I said.

Speaker 2 (03:09):
But he didn't say anything, and you upset with him
because he didn't know.

Speaker 3 (03:14):
I'm not upset with him, he said.

My response was simply that there's no way to possibly
answer that question because he doesn't know where he'd be
in the house.

Speaker 3 (03:23):
What was blocking the exit where everyone else in the
house was.

Speaker 2 (03:26):
Long man answered, though, always tell your wife what you
think she wanted. I agree with you that, whether you
mean it or not.

Speaker 3 (03:36):
See, that's the part that's the problem.

Speaker 2 (03:38):
Whether you need it or not, well, it would be
here's you will know what you answer for me. You
know I want to answer to me. You want to
answer why is you talking about. That's all I need to.

Speaker 1 (03:52):
Say that you're currently married to I'm going to get home.

Speaker 2 (03:57):

What does she wants for all the time, I hate
