So today May sixth, the Vice President will deliver a
speech in Detroit about her vision on an for economy
that works for all Americans, with a specific focus on
Black Americans and building intergenerational wealth in the black community.
This is Vice President's second stop on our National Economic

Opportunity Tour. And Steve, you know all about this because
you talked with her, and so tell us about it please.

Speaker 2 (00:27):
Like Shirley said, this is the Vice President's second stop
on her National Economic Opportunity Tool and what we're going
to be seeing everybody is that the Vice President is
leading a tool about how to build wealth in the
black community and showing people how to find the right
resources to help them thrive. I think this is good

because she called me personally and asked me to help
promote this, because I just think that I'm seeing too
many things about people not really understanding all they have done.
Now is anybody gonna do everything? No, but they have
accomplished a lot, and I think we're not showcasing that.
And during her speech, the Vice President is gonna highlight

how the Biden administration has taken historic steps to advance
economic opportunity by creating jobs, investing in small businesses, supporting
the auto sector, which is gonna be big up there
in Detroit, increasing access to capital, improving access to housing.
They had a huge program that forgave hundreds or millions

(01:38):
of dollars of student loans and medical debt, and is
also championing additional policies that put money directly into people's
pockets and build well. Now again, just like last week,
this week, you can watch the speech later on today
at two pm Eastern. All you gotta do is go
