All right, so Steve. This one is from Hannah in
Culver City. Hannah says, I'm basically homeless because my boyfriend
set me up and had his brother come to our
house and wait for him to get home. He was
watching our interactions on our cameras and I had a
bralat and biker shorts. That's what I had on, which
I always wear in public. And to the gym. I

made his brother an omelet and we ate. His brother
said he can tell I've been working on my thighs
and I said that I love leg day. That's it.
Then my boyfriend walked in. He told me to He
took me to the back to tell me he was
watching our interactions and I was inappropriate. Did he do
(00:42):
this just to break up with me? He asked me
to move out, but I have nowhere to go. How
do I explain to him that it was nothing?
Speaker 2 (00:52):
This was a setup. This is all he wanted, I
mean TuS. First of all, let me tell you something.
If he had a real problem, he'd have a problem
with his brother. Yo, man, what's up? You know this
my girl? But his brother wasn't inappropriate. His brother wasn't
inappropriate at all, you know. Now if the brother said,

you know, man, I can tell you've been working on
your thighs Now, it depends on how his brother said it.
But I now let me ask you a question. On
these cameras, you can't hear words ken you either way.
Either way, lady, he set you up and he looking
for easy out. You ain't got nowhere to go. Go

to your mama house, go to one of your friend's house.
But I think this is this is gonna lead to
some other stuff because he got some suspicions for some reason,
maybe jealous that you're going down to the gym and
all this head and he thank.
Speaker 3 (01:49):
You to got you fine for him. I don't know.
I don't know, Okay, all.
Speaker 1 (01:55):
Right, So she's trying to explain to him that nothing
was wrong.
Speaker 3 (01:59):
But the yeah we got up, well he saw the
video though he's over it.

All right. We have time for another one, Steve. This
is from Dion and Philly. Dion says, I told my
aunt that I used to mess with the man that
she's marrying, and she told me that everyone has a past.
Speaker 3 (02:17):
I told her I could have sex with.
Speaker 1 (02:19):
Him again if I wanted to, and she said that
she doesn't put anything past a man. My aunt is
only fifty eight years old, and I think she is
settling for this man because she's afraid of being alone?
Speaker 3 (02:29):
Why would she marry this man?
Speaker 1 (02:31):
Should I step aside and let her do it?
Speaker 3 (02:33):
Why is in this? Wow? Yeah? What did you turning
all this hippo? And I slept with him?
Speaker 2 (02:39):
Yeah? Everybody and everybody does have a past. I could
sleep with him again. Well, I don't put nothing past me,
you know, But then you know, maybe you can't sleep
with him again. You never know what's wrong in she though?
Should I step aside? Why she married this man?
Speaker 3 (03:01):
Oh? You mad because he ain't want to marry you.
Speaker 2 (03:04):
Oh okay, you passed out the cookie and got nothing.
She passed out the cookie. She getting wed and ring.

Speaker 1 (03:17):
And this is her aunt. This is her aunt, who
she says is only fifty eight and she believes she's settling. Wow.
Speaker 3 (03:26):
Oh, what kind of family members people got?
Speaker 1 (03:29):
I know this is your aunt, straight shade, your auntie dog.
Speaker 3 (03:37):
Come on.
Speaker 1 (03:40):
But but in her mind, in the niece's mind, Dion's mind,
she's thinking she's helping her aunt.
Speaker 3 (03:46):
That's the thing, you know.
Speaker 1 (03:49):
Yeah, by telling her.
Speaker 3 (03:54):
It's too long.
Speaker 1 (03:55):
Now, is that you're not helping niece and aunt Yeah,
come on, this is Auntie. Don't do that to Auntie.
Speaker 3 (04:10):
Well you don't do that.
Speaker 2 (04:11):
Well, here's the deal, Auntie fifty eight. Auntie still fine. Yeah,
little nice hate. I slept with him. Men got a pass.
I can sleep with him again. Auntie said, bet your cake,
and that's probably what it is. But he got nothing.
(04:33):
And now then aunt got proposed to.

The Burden
The Burden is a documentary series that takes listeners into the hidden places where justice is done (and undone). It dives deep into the lives of heroes and villains. And it focuses a spotlight on those who triumph even when the odds are against them. Season 5 - The Burden: Death & Deceit in Alliance On April Fools Day 1999, 26-year-old Yvonne Layne was found murdered in her Alliance, Ohio home. David Thorne, her ex-boyfriend and father of one of her children, was instantly a suspect. Another young man admitted to the murder, and David breathed a sigh of relief, until the confessed murderer fingered David; “He paid me to do it.” David was sentenced to life without parole. Two decades later, Pulitzer winner and podcast host, Maggie Freleng (Bone Valley Season 3: Graves County, Wrongful Conviction, Suave) launched a “live” investigation into David's conviction alongside Jason Baldwin (himself wrongfully convicted as a member of the West Memphis Three). He and a protege swore they would build an empire on blood. Then the relationship frayed and the protege accused Calvin of a double homicide which he claimed he didn’t do. But did he? Award-winning journalist Steve Fishman spent seven years to answer that question. This is the story of one man’s last chance to overturn his life sentence. He may prevail, but someone’s gotta pay. The Burden: Empire on Blood is the director’s cut of the true crime classic which reached #1 on the charts when it was first released half a dozen years ago. Season 1 - The Burden In the 1990s, Detective Louis N. Scarcella was legendary.
