Speaker 1 (00:01):
Well, guys, the number one movie in America right now
is Bad Boys Ride or Die. It stars Will Smith
and Martin Lawrence, bringing in a whopping one hundred and
four million dollars worldwide. Congratulations. Yeah, yeah, yeah, because you know,
Sans thought that Will his career might be over after

(00:23):
he slapped Chris Rock in front of millions at the
Academy Awards a couple of years ago. According to People Magazine,
a source in the film industry says Will has had
plenty of time to reflect on his life and he's
doing well now. He says things are really great between
Will and Jada as well. Now, moving on to Martin Lawrence,
Martin Martin wants fans to stop spreading rumors yes about

(00:47):
his health. Martin says, I'm fine, I'm in God's hands,
I'm blessed, I'm healthy as hell. Stop the rumors.

Speaker 2 (00:54):
Okay, I said, man, I said, dog, you steal him,
You steal him.

Speaker 3 (01:04):
Lad's a bad boy man.

Speaker 1 (01:06):
A legend, Yeah, real legend.

Speaker 3 (01:09):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:10):
Seriously, when you talk with him, when you talk with him,
which I do, let me say something, ain't nothing wrong.

Speaker 3 (01:17):
Calm down, Calm down.

Speaker 1 (01:21):
I'm fine.

Speaker 2 (01:23):
People understand something. But you know it's it's it's called aging.

Speaker 1 (01:29):
Yeah, yeah, we are going to aid.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
None of us looked like we used to look at
Oh yeah, this is true.

Speaker 1 (01:42):
That's this is good Will and Martin.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
You know, everybody like you said it was career ending
for Will especially.

Speaker 1 (01:50):
And people say the movie.

Speaker 2 (01:52):
I didn't think his career would be over because of
the slap. I knew it was going to be some ramifications,
but that's not the career. Career ending is what been
in the news lately with another celebrity. Yeah, but that's yeah,
that's career indian. Yeah, you slap another dude that ain't

(02:13):
gonna be career inded. But it cost him a lot
in terms of reputation and everything. And I think it
hurt Will. It hurt well from the standpoint, he had
never been vilified like that before. He's always been that guy,
and I think that was more so ether than anything.
I just hope maybe one day, you know, Chris can

(02:36):
accept his apology. But he got apologize to Chris. He
can't be on you know, on a website.

Speaker 1 (02:42):
Personally.

Speaker 2 (02:44):
Yeah, that's that's a walk up to a man and
go hey man. But the only word fix it for
me is if you was to come up to me
and say, hey man, I'm sorry and then let me
slap you back.

Speaker 3 (03:00):
Square.

Speaker 4 (03:01):
I'm glad you brought that up. You slapped me when
I was little. You never apologized about it.

Speaker 1 (03:06):
Oh okay, I apologize to you, Tommy, and you should
slap him.

Speaker 3 (03:11):
You apologize. Well, here's two things.

Speaker 2 (03:14):
I'm not gonna apologize what and you still little?

Speaker 3 (03:19):
Come on, will Smith j.

Speaker 1 (03:22):
Yeah, So Tommy, you need to make a comedy special
called Outrage too. I'm gonna try to get a rolling
bad Boys fires. That's my takeaway.

Speaker 4 (03:35):
Okay, I think I should be allowed to slap him
back after all these years, I do think I should.

Speaker 3 (03:40):
Be able to do that.

Speaker 2 (03:41):
Go over there.

Speaker 4 (03:42):
Yeah, I should have slapped at golf course. That's what
I should have done. Slapped you at the golf court.

Speaker 2 (03:50):
That's while I had a golf club in my hands. Man,
Probably the best time.

Speaker 1 (04:02):
Time and is everything, And it wasn't as many people
as at the Academy Awards.

Speaker 3 (04:07):
Don't worry about its capitals. Was on me the whole time. Yes,
God day, Yeah.

Speaker 1 (04:15):
I guess it's going to be slapping anymore on this show.

Speaker 3 (04:19):
All right.

Speaker 1 (04:20):
So this is from our home station in DC w
h u R ninety six point three FM. This past Friday.
Howard University was the latest unity entity I should say
to cut ties with Diddy. Howard University announced late last
week that its Board of Trustees voted to accept the
return of the honorary degree they gave Diddy back in

(04:41):
twenty fourteen. Officials wrote, mister Combe's behavior, as captured in
a recently released video, is so fundamentally incompatible with Howard
University's poor values and beliefs that he is deemed no
longer worthy to hold the institution's highest honor. The university
is unwavering in its opposition to all acts of interpersonal violence.

(05:03):
But that's not all. The board also directed the university
administration to immediately take the following actions. Terminate a twenty
sixteen gift agreement with mister Colmbs, disband the scholarship program
in his name, return the one million dollar contribution, and
terminate a twenty twenty three Yes Pledge agreement with the
Shawn Combs Foundation. So yeah, they're serious about cutting ties

(05:29):
the Diddy. Yeah yeah, ooh. He did that himself, his actions,
his behavior, he did that.

Speaker 3 (05:37):
Yeah, Okay, all.

Speaker 1 (05:39):
Right, So moving on. Finally, this is in sports entertainment
news now. The twenty twenty four Olympics are set to
begin in just under two months. Is going down in Paris, Paris, France.
By the way, this past weekend, team USA's women's basketball
roster was released. Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese were not
on the list. The rosters full of talent, but everyone.

Speaker 3 (06:01):
Is wondering, no, they should not be on the team.

Speaker 1 (06:05):
Yeah, that's it.

Speaker 3 (06:05):
They just got in a WNBA.

Speaker 2 (06:08):
If you look at their numbers right now, Angels reached
numbers are better than Caitlin Clark. Caitlyn Clark is not
having a great season right now, and you can't deny
those women that's been balling. They heard out a spot
on the Olympic team to make room for Caitlyn or
Angel reach. Angel Reese is having a better season than
Caiton and Clark, but her numbers ain't good enough to

(06:31):
be on the Olympic team.

Speaker 3 (06:33):
All right.

Speaker 1 (06:33):
Coming up at the hour, we'll talk about Baby Boomers
and Generation X, the coolest generations for summertime memories. Right
after this, you're listening Morning Show
