Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey, we are live at the Crossroads of the West
gun Show at Mountain America Credit Union Expo Center in Sandy,
right off of State Street, like one hundred and what
one hundred and sixth, No, ninety four, ninety fourth.
Speaker 2 (00:12):
In State Street. They're going to be here.
Speaker 1 (00:14):
The gun show is live until five o'clock today, three
o'clock tomorrow, so nine to five today, nine to three tomorrow.
And there's Chastity right there, high Chassity. We're just talking
about the gun show right now. There she is the
head button pusher lever puller, uh and granddaughter of Bob Templeton.
Speaker 2 (00:34):
So, hey, let's tell you.
Speaker 1 (00:36):
I'm gonna tell you a little bit about the gun
show now that you're here, unless you want to get
on Cassidy.
Speaker 2 (00:41):
So did I say Chassy?
Speaker 1 (00:42):
I meant Cassidy, And hey, support the VFW is here
today and Bill is.
Speaker 2 (00:50):
A mic on it will be, it will be. Bill
is trying to do some stuff.
Speaker 3 (00:54):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (00:55):
Cassidy told me earlier today that ninety five percent of
the vendors here at the gun show are either veteran owned,
family owned, or small business.
Speaker 2 (01:06):
Is that right?
Speaker 4 (01:07):
Yeah, I'd say ninety five percent. And it's not one
of them. Most of them are.
Speaker 2 (01:11):
All of them multiple Yeah, yeah, Okay.
Speaker 4 (01:13):
Our company, for example, owned by Bob Templeton, my grandfather.
He's an Army veteran. Our business is family owned. Every
single person working the show this weekend is either a
relative of mine or a neighbor of someone in my family.
Speaker 1 (01:28):
I mean there is a lot, and I mean you
come from a fantasticroot remember gold to the Crossroads of
the Fornia, And I was a kid at the cow
Palace yep.
Speaker 4 (01:38):
So my grandparents started the company in nineteen seventy four
to promote their gun store in Salt Lake City, and
people really liked the gun show. So they expanded from
Salt Lake used to be had an armory ye into
cow Palace.
Speaker 2 (01:55):
In Bay Area place yep.
Speaker 4 (01:58):
And now we're in four states and I think sixteen
different cities.
Speaker 1 (02:02):
Your grandfather, Bob Templeton, has done so much that no
one realizes unless they're literally in this the gun rights industry,
has done so much for the Second Amendment, gun rights
and the ability to have gun shows across this nation.
In fact, he still is right now to this day
in a in a legal deal right now.
Speaker 4 (02:23):
It's absolutely true and That's one thing that I wish
people knew more about him, because he's such an amazing guy,
is that he has sponsored many lawsuits against unjust laws.
He has los lobbyists, he has paid lobbyist, Yes, he
paid lobbyist. He met with Joe Biden when he was
vice president under Obama to like say, hey, yeah, let's
(02:44):
do this in a way that makes sense, not inavengeful.
Speaker 2 (02:47):
I wonder how that turned out. Well, I mean, I keep.
Speaker 1 (02:52):
You know, I mean, your dad has just been so
fantastic and Lynn as well, your grandmother just fantastic.
Speaker 2 (02:57):
So I'm gonna tell you a little bit more.
Speaker 1 (02:58):
Okay, So it's at the Mountain America Credit Union Expo Center,
ninety four.
Speaker 2 (03:01):
South and State Street.
Speaker 1 (03:03):
Free parking, lots of parking too, lots of AMMO. I've
said it before, and whether it be from political unrest
to the Czechoslovakians buying all the AMMO, buy your Ammo.
It is fantastic prices. Don't look for it to get
any cheaper.
Speaker 4 (03:21):
Yeah, I mean invest in precious metals gold, silver, and lead, right, yes, yes, yeah,
And we've got three wholesale AMMO vendors here at this
show this weekend I just saw one of them, and
he's given away discounts. If you come to his shop,

Speaker 2 (03:40):
So come by the gun.
Speaker 4 (03:41):

one of those flyers and.
Speaker 2 (03:44):
Get some free Amo next week.
Speaker 4 (03:46):
And we have discounts on our website. If you follow

Speaker 1 (03:56):

seeing here. I see you in other states as well
at the gun shows there, so so fantastic.
Speaker 2 (04:04):
Thank you.
Speaker 1 (04:05):
It's gonna be uh. This is an extremely popular show
I brought. I brought Kanga, the Wonder Australian Shepherd around,
and she was she was getting a bit too uppity. Yeah,
so she literally jumped up on the d n R table.
The guy behind the table said, asked what her name was,
and I says Kanga and he says, okay.
Speaker 2 (04:24):
The high pit's voice.
Speaker 1 (04:25):
She just took that ask, just leaked up onto the
table and started giving him kisses.
Speaker 4 (04:30):
I don't know if you noticed, but he's right next
the DNR Guy's right next to the freeze dried treat guy.
You want freeze dried candy, freeze dried fruit. Hey, if
your dog wants freeze dried beef liver, it's amazing.
Speaker 2 (04:43):
That's what I give her. No, that's what I that's
what we that's what we give her. That's what we get.
Kang gun chance.
Speaker 4 (04:47):
Yeah, I mean here, it's great if you love guns
and ammo. It's also great if you love going.
Speaker 2 (04:51):
Out do work.
Speaker 5 (04:51):
Yeah, if you've got last minutes Christmas shopping, there's some
great stocking stuffers you can find here. I mean forget
and if you want a big so you know some
boots something. They've got handguns, they got rifles, I know
some AAR fifteens. The prices on some AAR fifteen's up here.
Speaker 1 (05:07):
Really good last night, or you will never find it
cheaper than right now, because I know they're the supplies
for the ammunition manufacturers are going to be running low.
Because and we're going to be I don't mean to
be the the sayer of doom and gloom, but the
we're gonna be at the hands of the Czechoslovakian big
company that bought all the guns and ammo, hey, I
(05:30):
gotta tell you we are we are somewhat sponsored a
little bit on this first segment by wasatch Waguh.
Speaker 2 (05:37):
They are a they.
Speaker 1 (05:39):
Have the most fantastic tasting beef jerky and Bill, I'm
gonna tell you a little funny thing. So they're right
there Wasatchwagu dot com or find them on Instagram at
wasatch Wagu and that's wagu w a g Yu wasatch Wagu.
They're a good Utah company right out of Hebrew City, Utah.
Speaker 2 (05:58):
And if you go on their website.
Speaker 1 (06:00):
Watsach wagu dot com, go wassatch twenty for the discount code.
Speaker 2 (06:03):
Bill, we we got a little, we got some said,
we tried some. I thought I was grabbing a honey.
You thought you were trying grabbing the honey. Wagu. I
got the ghost pepper. You got the ghost pepper.
Speaker 1 (06:15):
And so when I literally you know how it takes
a few seconds for it to kick in.
Speaker 2 (06:18):
Oh yeah, And I.
Speaker 1 (06:19):
Watched and it was ten right about two and one
it hit him, and so he thought he was I
thought I was gonna do the show by myself today.
So anyway, karaoke Jalipino honey, wagu uh. Yeah, it's fantastic
eight eight eight five nine five seven two seveny three
And Jessica has really hooked us up with some fantastic
(06:40):
It's so good.
Speaker 2 (06:41):
All right. Now, Oh you know what, as.
Speaker 1 (06:43):
I was wandering around the show, I ran into perfect
Pull USA. Yee, that's the trigger, thanks Cassidy. All right,
the trigger people. And essentially what I what I try
to tell my students is you can have your stance wrong,
you can have your grip a little weird, you're going
(07:04):
to have you know, all the kind of stuff weird.
But if you get your trigger pole right, you're going
to hit where you want to. Yeah, and go to
perfect Pole USA and check them out.
Speaker 2 (07:15):
Really a great thing.
Speaker 1 (07:16):
We tried this thing out and it was amazingly simple
but so rewarding. All right, and we're gonna talk about
oh flash my brass is here, big big sales, big sale.
I'll talk about that second segment a little bit. But
as soon as you walk into the gun show, as
you walk into the right, you'll see huge flash my brass.
Speaker 2 (07:35):
Thing.
Speaker 1 (07:36):
I talked to Brent. We're gonna talk a little bit
about that. We're gonna have Glen Parshell on with R
n R Tactical and second segment coming right up, our
good friend Ken Ken Matthews with medicap. We're going to
be talking about well, I don't know, stocking stuffers and
medical and helicopter rescues, stuff like that.
Speaker 2 (07:58):
I don't know. Yeah, I do want to get into
drone not too Bill.
Speaker 5 (08:00):
Yeah, we're gonna cover drones here later in the show too,
What to do, what to shoot, what to carry, all
that fun stuff. So yeah, so, uh we got a
great show for you.
Speaker 2 (08:13):
Stay tuned.
Speaker 5 (08:13):
We'll be right back on Gun Radio Utah. Bill Petterson,
director of the Utah Shooting Sports Council, and right next
to me, I've got Clark. Oh, thank you Bill for
a chairman. Let me turn your microphone on. It may
be cold.
Speaker 1 (08:26):
Outside, Bill, but you're warm are Jim Bill's had?
Speaker 2 (08:30):
Bill has had some ghost pepper. I'm a little warm
from beef jerkey. Washatchwagou dot com.
Speaker 1 (08:36):
Go to them, type in washatche twenty for a discount
and thank you Jessica for that.
Speaker 5 (08:43):
And uh, okay, we got to play this intro because
we've got introduced Ken here, but I want Ken, Well, Ken,
you can't Ken Matthews.
Speaker 1 (08:52):
So Ken won't be able to hear this, but we'll
explain it to you. So Ken, Ken Matthews with medicap.
He's the he's the head chief and our operator, a
flight surgeon. I don't know if that's right, and I'm
making I mean literally, he's a You're a weapons trainer. Uh,
you're a communications specialist.
Speaker 3 (09:13):
And uh, let's go with the renaissance man.
Speaker 1 (09:15):
Renaissance man, renaissance you you can you can crack people's
chests open and fix their heart out in the field
and or apply bandages. I don't know what I got
a question for you, kid, because you know this about mens.
Speaker 5 (09:30):
Mouths no no, no CPR, no mouth to mouth area.
What has been the most wildest experience you've had in
the field where you've had to improvise your care?
Speaker 2 (09:45):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (09:45):
Boy, yeah, but I guess it would go anywhere from
sewing up my brother at a camping spot when I
was thrown up every stitch because I had the flu
to uh, you know, your rigging patients off mountains and
side slopes and working with search and rescue teams getting
(10:06):
them down to flipping on wildland fires where resources were
limited to using equipment that was way outside of the
bounds that was initially designed to be used and works
out successfully. And even though the er that we flew
patients into looked at us like we were a bunch
of idiots, when we explained what we were doing, they
thought we were brilliant.
Speaker 2 (10:26):
Every one of these things could be a show. What's
your website?
Speaker 1 (10:28):
What's the website for people that want to be appropriately
prepared out in the wild?
Speaker 3 (10:33):
Medicap dot wix dot com, wix like wy x, Yes,
medicap dot wix, wix dot com.
Speaker 2 (10:42):
All right, so I've got a question for you. So
I'm always watching.
Speaker 1 (10:45):
On TV and somebody gets shot and they're trying to
save them, and they're constantly trying to get.
Speaker 2 (10:50):
The bullet out of them. Is that a thing I
thought they weren't. You don't try to get the bullets out.
Speaker 3 (10:54):
You don't try to pull those that. You let the
guys that really know how to do that, which are
called surgeons.
Speaker 2 (10:58):
Oh, take us out.
Speaker 3 (11:00):
And the best idea, especially with that or an impaled object,
is leave it in place and transport him with it
in them.
Speaker 1 (11:06):
Okay, another question, is you're pulling somebody up on the
helicopter from on the little what do you call that
little We didn't do hoists.
Speaker 2 (11:13):
Yeah, and they start spinning. And I saw a.
Speaker 1 (11:15):
Video of somebody just spinning, and it'd be if I
was on that thing, I'd be throwing up and have
a broken leg.
Speaker 2 (11:21):
That's a real problem.
Speaker 3 (11:21):
So they got some anti rotation devices now, and they
got taglines that they can use. And the real experts
of that around here are the State helicopter guys and
then lifelike experts in that arena. They've been doing that
really well for years and years and years.
Speaker 5 (11:37):
I'll share a video with you afterwards of my friend
being hoisted in lifelike. He actually stuck his foot bow
hunting and was gushing blood and he did not have
a first aid kit. Well, I gifted him one of
your first aid kits.
Speaker 2 (11:53):
I said, dude, you got to have it.
Speaker 5 (11:54):
Goes, He goes, the biggest thing I needed was a tourniquit, right,
and I said, well you'll you'll find you.
Speaker 2 (12:00):
A nice, little beautiful turnat.
Speaker 5 (12:01):
He opened it up and he goes, that's the exact
tourniquet they used for me.
Speaker 2 (12:05):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (12:05):
So the trick is is you can jury rig a
lot of stuff out in the field that it takes
brain cells.
Speaker 2 (12:10):
To figure this through.
Speaker 3 (12:12):
Generally you're a little bit overwhelmed, especially well discussion. Yeah,
and so wouldn't it be nice if you didn't have
to jury rig anything and you'd actually trained with the
gear you had and made it easy to grab it
and use it well.
Speaker 5 (12:25):
And that's why I love your classes, because you teach
a lot of that improvisation that is needed in the field.
We're so spoiled that we got hospitals. We have clinics
right in the world, right next to us.
Speaker 2 (12:36):
But when we have to go down and hit the.
Speaker 5 (12:40):
Hospital or we need medical we're an hour two hours
from any search and rescue to come in and uh.
Speaker 3 (12:47):
Well, and then you think of our earthquake. If our
earthquakes four years ago, it would have been a bigger
earthquake that would have been a game changer, would still
be recovering from And that's not Hey, I got to
take care of somebody for three to five to eight
minutes while EMS shows up. That would be maybe I'm
sitting on somebody for a couple of days because hospitals
are full because the calls for service for law enforcement
(13:08):
and fire and ems or you know, they're thoughts lightly overwhelmed.
Yeah right, yeah, so that's a different world.
Speaker 2 (13:13):
So we're transitioning into a new season. We've got winner.
Speaker 5 (13:16):
Now, what do you have for your for people that
would like to have some type of a first aid
kit in the back of their.
Speaker 3 (13:22):
Car, so you can start with something as simple as
a few components. You mentioned the aero injury where they
needed a tourniquet that was the primary thing. Well, that's
a good way to start something that will save your
life right now. And if you don't have it, you
have to spend a lot of time which you don't have,
or brain cells which you may also not have, and
(13:43):
try to jury rig it. So take care of the
things that'll kill you first and then add the other
stuff would be a good a good Okay.
Speaker 2 (13:51):
So, now, how should I gauge a medical kit?
Speaker 1 (13:55):
Because I got a hundred piece of medical kit and
it had some gauze and scissors and ninety eight band aids.
Speaker 3 (14:02):
Right, So my rule of thumb personally is that if
it's if the advertising is based on the number of
kit pieces in it, stop.
Speaker 2 (14:10):
You got the wrong kit.
Speaker 3 (14:11):
Reverse find something that's not based on It's got a
million pieces half of mer Lego's little tiny ones that
you step on and you think you're dead, and the
other parts are band aids and one roll of uz.
Speaker 1 (14:23):
I mean, but if we go, I mean, you have
a booth right here at the gun show, and you're
gonna be here tomorrow, no okay, but today until five o'clock.
Speaker 2 (14:30):
You can get over here.
Speaker 1 (14:30):
Take a look at his The huge amount the different sizes.
I mean, you've got ones that will fit in the
back of a station wagon versus and also all the
way down to something you can mount on your on
your pocket, on your on your.
Speaker 5 (14:44):
You could hook up to a drone and send it
up the mountains. Went drones to Jersey. Yeah, New Jersey.
Speaker 2 (14:49):
We're gonna be talking drones here. That is awesome.
Speaker 5 (14:53):
Uh again, medicaup dot wix dot com. You go on
the website, another great item. I mean these some of
these kids are just backpack trail kits. Some of them
are molt type kits you can just throw on. Just
simple gunshot wounds. If you've got a family member likes
to go out and shooting, hey, always have this.
Speaker 2 (15:11):
It might not be.
Speaker 5 (15:12):
For you for a family member you're shooting with. But
you never know what you come across out in the field.
And I think that's one of the things I think
stopping stuff that what trouble always finds Bill Petterson, And
I'm always coming back to restock.
Speaker 3 (15:24):
Yes, when I get a phone call from you, it's
always what happened now?
Speaker 6 (15:27):
Bill?
Speaker 2 (15:27):
What happened now? What did you see? And to participate in.
Speaker 5 (15:31):
Oh my gosh, it's been a while, but yeah, I'm
always carrying. I know, I'm I'm Jens sam So awesome, Ken,
thank you so much for joining us on Gun Radio Utah.
Speaker 2 (15:42):
Great product and great classes.
Speaker 5 (15:44):
Even if you want a simple first aid class, Ken
teaches those. Where are you teaching those at now?
Speaker 3 (15:51):
So usually do them out of it. If I'm down
here in the valley Salt Lake Valley, it's out at
the Legacy Shooting Yeah.
Speaker 2 (15:58):
Legacy, Yes, Legacy, we love le Uh.
Speaker 3 (16:00):
You know, great indoor ranges, good prices on guns, enameled
they often have it when others don't. If I'm up
in in Cash County where I live, it's at the
Cash Valley Public Shooting Range.
Speaker 1 (16:12):
Awesome, the State one. Yeah, okay, yeah, yeah, that's a
nice one, all right. So Bill, I've got.
Speaker 2 (16:17):
To do yeah for that.
Speaker 1 (16:20):
So hey, let's say you've broken your gun while you're
out there, uh, and.
Speaker 2 (16:25):
You need it fixed. Get it over to the gunsmith
a sportsman's warehouse.
Speaker 1 (16:28):
I had no good, I got no good segue into that, Bill,
I'm sorry, it's just you know.
Speaker 2 (16:32):
Anyway, get it over to the guns. That's what you do. Yeah, okay,
tell me what? Oh good? All right? This is this
is basically similar to speaking, not question slap, but as
far as going up to one thing, you've got to
try it just to peach.
Speaker 1 (16:52):
So's the margining, fantastic typical stuff.
Speaker 2 (16:58):
Bill mk elves bump stocks and silence, and they take
them to this out to the guns?
Speaker 1 (17:05):
Do they take them to the gunsmith at Sportsman's our
House sixteen thirty South fifty seventy West in Salt Lake City,
give them a call it EIGHTO one.
Speaker 2 (17:11):
Three zero four eighty seventy.
Speaker 1 (17:13):
They can take care of pretty much anything that you
need to have done with your gun, engraving, sarah coding,
fixing your stock wreath, or threading your barrel, putting a
new barrel on you name.
Speaker 2 (17:25):
It, they can do it.
Speaker 1 (17:26):
Sixteen thirty south fifty seventy west. Now, if you can't
get it down to them, take it into any of
the over one hundred and forty six sportsmen's warehouse locations.
There's got to be one near you, and tell them
to get this to the gunsmith.
Speaker 5 (17:39):
And we'll be right back with a lot more to
talk about here on gun Radio Utah.
Speaker 2 (17:43):
Stay tuned.
Speaker 1 (17:44):
Hey, come on down there here till five o'clock today.
They're open until three o'clock tomorrow. That's a little bit
of a change of time because of the storm coming in.
They did some they checked with the vendors and you
know some of them have to travel pretty far.
Speaker 2 (17:57):
To get back, so they're doing that three So anyway, Okay,
thank you Bill.
Speaker 1 (18:01):
All Right, So hey, real quick, we've got Glenn Parshell
with R an R Tactical on.
Speaker 2 (18:05):
Glenn. Are you there, I'm.
Speaker 1 (18:06):
Here, fantastic, fantastic, Hey real quick.
Speaker 2 (18:09):
What is going on?
Speaker 1 (18:10):
Tell us about the opening, tell us about the progress
of the brand new gun store training area range in
that for urn R Tactical.
Speaker 2 (18:22):
Well, we've been making great progress and work starting.
Speaker 6 (18:24):
Along very very well. We've got a couple of glitches.
One of the Utility Companies is hanging a couple of
things up right now that has.
Speaker 2 (18:30):
Big, fantastic progress.
Speaker 6 (18:31):
Looks like we're probably gonna be in January instead of
being in the stunt for Hilton. But we're coming right
up on it.
Speaker 2 (18:36):
I feel we're getting a range program together.
Speaker 6 (18:38):
We're gonna have a lot of good range guests to
come in and rant. It's gonna be a fantastic experience
for everybody.
Speaker 1 (18:43):
All right, So you have been I mean, among the
many things that you do, you have been actually making
rebuilding I guess machine guns and some of the classic
machine guns from both Eastern Europe and Western Europe. I
guess to and are we gonna be able to shoot
those at the range?
Speaker 6 (19:04):
Those will all be available as we get finishing up
an empty forty this week. A couple of ten guns
are going to be finished this week. We've been working
on some other things. It just takes a lot of
time to find all the parts and wheel them back
together after they get chopped up and brutally chopped up
in the many pieces.
Speaker 2 (19:21):
Horrible what they do.
Speaker 1 (19:23):
I got, and it's not just cut. It's not like
you cut with a metal bandsaw.
Speaker 2 (19:28):
It's like they used a very rough welding torch or
something cut them. Hey, how do how do people find
out more about our in our tactical Well, the new
Shop Act.
Speaker 6 (19:38):
This is going to be two twenty seven East Crossroads.
Speaker 4 (19:41):
That's what we're where.
Speaker 2 (19:42):
We're going to be moving to. Right now, we're still
on Guardian Drying. They can give us a call and we're.
Speaker 6 (19:48):
Stopped on by anytime we're going on our website or
Orcaction Design dot Com. We're gonna have all the updates
on there, So come on down check us out.
Speaker 2 (19:58):
We're going to be doing some announcing.
Speaker 6 (19:59):
Peop when we're going our opening going on, so.
Speaker 2 (20:01):
Well hopefully be getting to everybody.
Speaker 5 (20:04):
Okay, Glenn, I got a serious question for you. We're
listening worldwide, we're listening to across the United States and
the world and the world. What firearm would you recommend
for New Jersey residents or drones?
Speaker 2 (20:19):
Yeah? What what's the best? What's the best the best weapon?
And what's wait.
Speaker 6 (20:22):
Too, probably something belt ed and fifty BG Okay, if
you want to take him down, you really want to
take him down?
Speaker 5 (20:29):
Yeah, and how far out do you think you should
lead him on a fifty BMG?
Speaker 1 (20:34):
Depending on the hype, but not.
Speaker 2 (20:38):
Awesome.
Speaker 7 (20:38):
Awesome all right, So, uh, Glenn, we're going to get
back with you, uh you know as the weeks progress
and uh and talk about the fantastic opening of the
of the new place and are in our tactical So thanks.
Speaker 1 (20:51):
So much for being on gun Radio. Utah, we got
to scoot right now, all right. So Bill, we were
talking about the drones and what you know, they're at night?
You know, apparently these drones are are hovering around I
don't a little eastern seaboard or whatever at night. Your
thermal's gonna pick them up? Right, wouldn't your thermal pick
(21:13):
them up?
Speaker 2 (21:13):
I would hope so, because I mean they have a
battery and motors and that kind of stuff.
Speaker 5 (21:17):
Yeah, I would imagine just on the roads you'd see
a lot of heat coming off of those things.
Speaker 2 (21:22):
Okay, I mean I mean we're watching some.
Speaker 1 (21:25):
So so Glenn went all out and he went with
the fifty BMG belt fed right, But I mean, unless
you get your neighborhood together, you're not going to really
do that.
Speaker 2 (21:36):
But what else? What else could we use on a drone?
And where would you hit them?
Speaker 1 (21:40):
Would you hit them in the propeller or in the
in the in the uh.
Speaker 2 (21:47):
You fly drones.
Speaker 5 (21:49):
Yeah, I fly drones, but I don't think my drone
is as big as as these that they're seeing in
in New York and New Jersey and now California.
Speaker 2 (21:57):
They're saying they're seeing California.
Speaker 1 (21:59):
You know what, Hey, you know New Jersey, California. That's
probably why they're flying the drones over there, because they
aren't going to get any incoming fire. Yeah, you fly
them over Utah, Nevada, Wyoming, Montana.
Speaker 5 (22:12):
Now we had this conversation before, did we. Yeah, we
talked about shooting drones a few months ago. That was balloons, balloons,
But you did you brought up an article from the
FFA f f A f A A. Oh you're not
supposed to not supposed to shoot a drone. Don't shoot
the balloons, don't shoot the drones.
Speaker 2 (22:33):
Yeah. So yeah, all right.
Speaker 5 (22:35):
But it's going to be interesting because I heard there's
a representative or senator out of New Jersey, I mean,
their running legislation. He's got language proposed. They want to
figure out what the heck these are and what to
do with them.
Speaker 2 (22:48):
But I think it's kind of interesting.
Speaker 5 (22:50):
We're coming off a duck season, you know, I wouldn't
recommend a shotgun.
Speaker 2 (22:55):
Now now now, now could you figure?
Speaker 1 (22:57):
Well, you know, if you were to fire straight up,
you're going to go about, I don't know, nine thousand
feet with a three zero eight or a fifty uh oh,
probably straight up. I'm thinking about nine thousand and with
a with a nine mil, you're gonna go probably half that.
Speaker 2 (23:13):
With a shotgun, you're gonna go much less gun, much
much less than that.
Speaker 1 (23:17):
So yeah, hey, so some of you that were listening
in the previous segment heard kind of a or didn't
hear anything.
Speaker 2 (23:25):
There was a blank. Oh yeah, there was a blank, Joe.
So we had a we had a production problem there.
Speaker 1 (23:30):
And basically what it was, Casey Jane and I were
watching a show called The Mother, The Mother and on
I think it was Netflix, and it was a j. J.
Low was in it, and she was a she was
kind of a badass. Oh is that right? Okay, thank
you Bill. So and anyway, so she's talking to another
(23:51):
protagonist in the show and he's telling her what is
coming to attack them and that the ATF has just
intercepted them and they have everything from and they wanted
to make it sound really scary. MK twelves, bump stocks
and suppressors and that I turned to Casey Jane and
we both looked at each other, like bump stocks. Really
(24:13):
they have MK twelves, but and they're gonna use bump stocks. Anyway,
it was interesting. So if you get us sack, it's
about fifteen or seventeen minutes into the show on the
mother It's a decent it's a decent watch.
Speaker 2 (24:26):
I guess it's not an epic anyway. Hey, Bill, I
want to point out.
Speaker 1 (24:31):
That in last week's show, whoa that Ghost Pepper or
the Jilipino wassatchwegu just came back anyway, that we were
talking about the CEO of United Healthcare that was assassinated
by well, they have a person of interest or they
(24:52):
have a suspect. Yeah, anyway, and they were all about
looking to try to find this very unique gun that
all the experts it said NYPD said, this is the gun.
Speaker 2 (25:02):
That the person used.
Speaker 1 (25:03):
A B and T Bruger and thommeit Swiss mate, I think, yeah,
and a Station six. Extremely unique firearm that you could
go to ten gun shows and never see one.
Speaker 2 (25:15):
I've never seen one you've never seen I've seen them before,
but show I can't.
Speaker 1 (25:23):
No, I don't think I have either, but we might
have to stop by B and T anyway, And we
looked at it and I called it last Saturday and
I said, I don't think so, And I said, it's
probably a glock with a suppressor on it.
Speaker 2 (25:37):
And what did it end up? Being?
Speaker 1 (25:39):
Basically a three D printed clock with a suppressor on it?
Speaker 2 (25:43):
So I would they should just come now, say come
to me, three D printed. I mean, it's not the.
Speaker 5 (25:50):
It's not the barrel, it's not the slide, it's not
the firing pin. And another thing that you brought up,
which you were talking on KSL earlier this week, was
you as explaining to them. I was explaining, I was
gun explaining what a ghost gun is, and they were
totally not even the same, you know.
Speaker 2 (26:11):
I mean, a ghost gun is.
Speaker 1 (26:14):
A term that has been coined by the anti gun
groups to strike fear into folks that don't know what
a homemade or hobbyist made gun is. You have never
not been able to, under federal law make your own
firearm for your own use.
Speaker 2 (26:29):
You've always been able to do it.
Speaker 1 (26:30):
And with technology now and machines and stuff like that.
Speaker 2 (26:34):
Yeah, you can make them a little easier. They're for
your own use.
Speaker 1 (26:37):
But make no mistake, if you're a prohibited person from
owning guns, you can't make your own either. You can't
possess one, and you can't sell it in interstate commerce
or even in state commerce. And no, you don't need
a serial number on it because it's not involved in commerce.
Speaker 2 (26:52):
It doesn't need to be tracked.
Speaker 1 (26:54):
And the whole serial number thing, that's basically the only
thing with ghost guns is there's a lack of a
serial number requirement. Now some states have said no, we're
not going to allow you know, homemade guns or hobbyist guns,
and okay, thanks Bob, and but you know the only
way that it really comes into play is if you
(27:15):
commit a crime with that.
Speaker 2 (27:16):
Gun and then leave it there and then.
Speaker 1 (27:20):
The police grab it and say, oh, there's no serial number,
and they throw up their hands and they stop looking
for everything.
Speaker 2 (27:25):
No, that's not how it works.
Speaker 1 (27:27):
Even if the gun had a serial number, and this
person was a criminal involved in crime, probably didn't get
the gun legally, didn't go through an FFL or you know,
some other way to do it. So it's not going
to make a difference that the serial numbers on there
or not. That's my point. And another way to make
a ghost gun would be just literally grind off the
serial number on a gun. And you know, maybe I
(27:50):
shouldn't have said that because now it just gives criminals
all that action.
Speaker 2 (27:53):
All right.
Speaker 1 (27:53):
When we come back an Action Pack Force segment, we're
going to talk about flashing.
Speaker 2 (27:57):

two hundred round can with the m O can ninety
nine dollars. Uh.

I just have one tag left, a Turkey tag, and
I'm hoping to go out and shoot it with the
pellet gun.
Speaker 2 (30:04):
Yeah, with the MCX. Hey you were talking about, was
it Hornity that just came out with some.
Speaker 5 (30:10):
New Yeah, I came across my YouTube feed the other day.
Horndy had a whole big announcement on ammunition and and
they've got some new backcountry ammunition basically bear protect and ammunition.
They they announced the ten millimeter around and then you know.
Speaker 2 (30:28):
Of course that's the first one they can the first
one they came out with.
Speaker 5 (30:31):
So I'm kind of excited to kind of see that
and drop I'm definitely drop them by their booth at
shot Show and see if we can get Maybe they'll
send us some samples or I guess you can't say
samples because we would have to return them, but maybe
they'll get us some ammo.
Speaker 2 (30:48):
We can go out and do some field testing. So
you know what I need to get.
Speaker 1 (30:50):
With NSSF because so now I lobby for him and
about getting you in as well.
Speaker 2 (30:57):
So yeah, you do.
Speaker 5 (30:58):
Yeah, so you have one thing, Clark, one thing, one
thing to do.
Speaker 2 (31:03):
Take care of that on Monday for show.
Speaker 1 (31:05):
But you know what, shot show is going to be
a little difficult this year because I've got I've got
the legislative side, We've got the legative session. Don't start
that very weak.
Speaker 5 (31:17):
Yeah, don't give me that, because we've done it before.
We've done We've sat in the hotel room. We've been
able to join these committees.
Speaker 2 (31:25):
I was not in the same hotel room as ye.
Speaker 1 (31:28):
So yeah, but okay, anyway, you went just oh uh,
did you eat more of that ghost pepper?
Speaker 2 (31:34):
Did you eat your all?
Speaker 5 (31:35):
I did eat all the ghost pepper? Wagu wassatch Wagu
beef jerky. This is pretty This is really good, Jessica.
Thank you so much for sharing and letting us participate
in Washatch Wagu beef Jerky. Go to wasatchwagu dot com
and you can jump online there and order some great,
a great Utah products.
Speaker 2 (31:56):
And what's the co Washatch twenty, Yeah.
Speaker 5 (31:58):
Wasatch twenty and the disc out code and you get
your I'm gonna say twenty percent.
Speaker 1 (32:03):
Off, all right, So let me tell you so, Bill,
I'm gonna pose something to you. The Second Amendment, is
it only for citizens of the United States?
Speaker 2 (32:17):
Is the concept yes?
Speaker 1 (32:18):
Okay, so now I'm gonna I'm gonna, I'm gonna come
at you at an angle on this one. Then the
concept of the Second Amendment says that it's it's a
god we don't have the right to keep in their
arms because of the Second Amendment. The Second Amendment merely codify,
(32:38):
not codifies. It lists one of the though that god
given right of I'm gonna say self defense, defensive home,
defensive country, defensive family, defensive yourself, and not not hunting
necessarily unless well, I guess.
Speaker 2 (32:54):
Hunting if you need to survive anyway. But that doesn't
to me.
Speaker 1 (32:59):
That means it's not just for citizens of the United
States or people while they're in the United States.
Speaker 2 (33:06):
It should be worldwide, should it not. It's if it's
a god given right.
Speaker 1 (33:11):
God only only give that to But I think they
are Americans.
Speaker 5 (33:17):
I think there are certain rules that apply in order
to obtain that firearm.
Speaker 2 (33:22):
Okay, so yes there are, but it is a god
given right in my mind.
Speaker 1 (33:28):
So with that, then people that come to the United States,
you don't have to be a citizen of the United States.
To purchase or possess a firearm, you do have to
go through some hoops that are found in I can't
remember it's the United States Code eighteen. But anyway, it
(33:49):
can be literally as simple as buying a hunting permit online,
you know, for what's the combo.
Speaker 2 (33:56):
Permit, the fishing and hunting one go for like twenty
bucks doors not madelone.
Speaker 1 (34:00):
Anyway, you could literally do that, and then with that
and an address, you can go to a gun store
and buy that, you can get a concealed carry permit.
Now if you're here legally. Now, if you're here illegally, no,
you cannot purchase a gun, whether it be private sale.
Speaker 2 (34:20):
Or through an FFL or anything like that.
Speaker 1 (34:22):
However, built what about this kind of really weird in
between status of asylum seekers.
Speaker 5 (34:33):
What about I think, if you're an asylum seeker and
you're going through the process the correct way, but.
Speaker 8 (34:40):
They aren't they legally, yeah, but not jumping over to
the fence to do it, or crossing a river to
do it.
Speaker 5 (34:48):
If you're coming in through the door of the office,
so to speak, and you are looking to seek asylum
and you're going through the process, absolutely.
Speaker 1 (34:58):
Okay, So now my question though, is you have to
be I mean, some of the hoops that we have
to jump through is that we have to have a
clean background.
Speaker 2 (35:07):
We can't be on the dude, I don't know how
you're gonna how are you going to check? Figure that out?
Speaker 1 (35:11):
How are you going to check from some of these
folks from Nicaragua, from Venezuela from that, how are you
going to check? How are you going to trust that
background check? And how do we keep track of them?
How do we keep track of them once they're here.
I'm told that once you get an asylum declaration or
whatever that it, that that you get a two or
(35:31):
three year wait until you're until you're up again.
Speaker 2 (35:35):
All right. I don't know, but you know what that.
Speaker 8 (35:38):
Question maybe brought up here. It may be coming up
this this questions and you know, and I'm sure there's
some great folks. Go out to Utah Shinen Sports Council
dot org, shoot us an email, tell us your thoughts
on that as well, go to our Facebook page. You
drop a comment on Utah schen Sports Council's Facebook page
as well, which we're a broadcast and live on.
Speaker 5 (36:00):
But anyway, we're having a great time. We'll see y'all
next week. Thanks for joining us on Gunray Utah Clark,
have a great day YouTube belt alright,
