Yeah, and uh so we've got that.

Speaker 2 (04:05):
What else did I have here? I had my my notes?

Speaker 3 (04:09):

Ken Ken Matthew.

Speaker 4 (04:14):
Ken Matthews with Medica is going to join us and
we're going to talk about knowledge, knowledge, knowledge.

Speaker 2 (04:22):
I got a bag, I got a so you want
me to have a kit and no knowledge?

Speaker 5 (04:29):
So?

Speaker 3 (04:30):
Uh so we've got that.

Speaker 2 (04:31):
Also, let me see we've got we've got that and
what is that? What?

Speaker 6 (04:37):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (04:38):
I know that's Ken on third, fourth segment and then.

Speaker 2 (04:40):
Okay, boy, we've got a lot of stuff though today
to be talking about. Okay, so at the show, not
only can you get guns, you can get parts and
do you have a in fact, take for example, do
you have a glock forty a forty caliber, not a
model forty which is a nine mill anyway, do you
have a glock forty caliber? Would you want to be

(05:02):
able to shoot nine mil out of it with nothing
more than essentially a barrel change and a magazine change
and maybe occasionally, depending on the how Finnic it is,
an extractor.

Speaker 3 (05:14):
Yeah, you can buy just the parts for that. Here.
Obviously there's T shirts.

Speaker 2 (05:18):
We're right across from ATF plus All Things Firearms, and
they have a lot of T shirts here.

Speaker 3 (05:24):
We have free stuff at our booth.

Speaker 2 (05:25):
We're right yeah, we're right by the women's bathroom by
the way.

Speaker 4 (05:29):
They kicked us out, but well also jen X, these
guys came over and talked to us.

Speaker 3 (05:34):
They're from Colorado. Oh yeah, he was giving us some shad.

Speaker 2 (05:37):
He was giving us some shade because we said Colorado
smells funny because it smells like hippies, and so he
came over.

Speaker 3 (05:44):
He seems nice, but he's gonna move though. Yeah, he's
moving his operations out of Colorado.

Speaker 2 (05:48):
Well, you inter see what Governor Jared paulis polus. I
don't know how to say it. He essentially just signed
to Bill Thursday that in the I for Colorado that
says any semi automatic firearm. I think that's what it is.
You can't buy it, sell it, or make it even
unless you go through a background check and a training class.

Speaker 3 (06:13):
And yeah, twelve hours.

Speaker 2 (06:16):
So then on top of that, you have to get
this permit to then buy and have signed by the
deputy sheriff excuse me, by the sheriff of the county
that you're in, and he has discretion as to whether
or not.

Speaker 3 (06:29):
To give you.

Speaker 1 (06:29):
That's so that's razy.

Speaker 2 (06:33):
Is it against the Hey, we got people coming right
up to us and giving us fist bump because that's
the way we are.

Speaker 3 (06:41):
Yeah, I mean.

Speaker 2 (06:44):
What part of shall not be infringed? And then did
you see the way CBS News talked about it. They
said they will allow you to have this gun if
you do this and if you do this, and if
you do this.

Speaker 3 (06:55):
Yeah, yeah, that's nice of them. Yeah. And you know,
I gotta tell you they're so close to us. Well
they're touching you. Yeah, well they're the once they come
across the border, they're coming to you.

Speaker 2 (07:12):
Well you know what, you know what as far as
a county as the they got to get through you
into county to get to us, and that will be
the better. They better pack a lunch they want to
get throughout. I'm counting on you and your casey. Jane
is going to be up there in the secret room
facing you know, facing that way and uh and and

(07:34):
grab a hat to there, sir, so anyway, or a
T shirt.

Speaker 3 (07:37):
I got T shirts hair, but not the jerk.

Speaker 1 (07:41):
So anyway. Yeah, So that's what we've got.

Speaker 2 (07:44):
That's what we've got on the on the agenda for today.

Speaker 3 (07:48):
Are you got anything, Bill h Yeah.

Speaker 4 (07:51):

Absolutely, let's think of a county fair, but with all guns.
So we got a lot of different.

Speaker 5 (10:46):

Speaker 2 (10:47):
There will actually be gun firing. There will be guns
to bring your ear protection too.

Speaker 3 (10:52):

Speaker 7 (10:53):
Bring ear protection, bring some energy, bring a little bit
of cash. Suit guns that you'll you ever seen before
out of public range, some mini guns. We've got tanks
out there. We got fifty cal suppressers, you got it all.

Speaker 3 (11:07):
Got a lot of suppressure companies.

Speaker 4 (11:09):
I remember thinking about this being an outdoor event and
you're gonna spend a lot of time out there.

You've got food trucks out there.

Awesome, It'll be a great times. Thanks Alert, Thanks Bill,
Thanks Clark. Joining us right.

Speaker 1 (12:33):
Now at Crossroads of the West Gun Show.

Speaker 3 (12:35):
We have you're a Kiwi.

Speaker 8 (12:38):
I am a Kiwi.

Speaker 3 (12:39):
You're at Kiwi? Is that the fruit or the bird?
More the bird?

Speaker 8 (12:44):
But I do like the fruit.

Speaker 3 (12:47):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (12:47):
So, so Vicky, I wanted John because why do I
get a weird echo?

Speaker 3 (12:52):
Here? Bill getting weird? I don't know. I just I'm
getting kind of a weird echo.

Speaker 2 (12:57):
Anyway, Vicky, we wanted John because you've got her tactical,
her tactical dot com.

Speaker 1 (13:02):
That does more than sell holsters. Yes, her tactical right.

Speaker 6 (13:07):
So I so our company is all about self defense
and also I we provide concealed carry solutions for women.

Speaker 3 (13:17):
So this is the solutions. What do you mean why
can't wear a Well?

Speaker 8 (13:22):
Here here's the problem.

Speaker 6 (13:23):
When I bought my gun years ago, I then asked
the guy, okay, show me where all your holsters are?

Speaker 2 (13:29):
And what do you think he said for you?

Speaker 6 (13:37):
Well, he hit zero to show me, and I thought,
and the first thing out of my mouth.

Speaker 8 (13:42):
Was where do I put it?

Speaker 2 (13:44):
Like?

Speaker 8 (13:44):
How do I hide this thing? I'm a woman.

Speaker 6 (13:46):
I don't want anyone knowing that I have a weapon
on me. I want to be protected, but I just
I just don't want anyone at all, like I wanted
it to be so discreet, and so of course I
went on this this investigative thing right where I was
looking for other options. So it was so her tactical
came about as a solution to a problem. And if

(14:09):
I was having this problem, then many other women were
having it too, And that's exactly what has been happening.
So my booth is always so full of women that
are like, oh my gosh, and they're thanking me for
even coming up with these solutions because they've had the
same problem. They go to a store and there's nothing
for a woman. So that's how her tactical came about,

(14:30):
is just providing the solution for women.

Speaker 8 (14:32):
However, there's something.

Speaker 6 (14:34):
Else that comes up and is there there's more is
that I want woman to not only have a gun,
but to also be responsible about the actually having, like
and using a gun. And a lot of women are
like their husbands will say, let's go get you a
gun and you know, and have that protection there, but.

Speaker 8 (14:53):
They're like, Okay, what do I do with it? And
they really don't know much about the anatomy of a.

Speaker 6 (14:58):
Gun, how to hold it, how to the slide, you know,
what kind of ammo they put inside of it, like
all of these things like we don't know, You've got
to treat us light. We're babies, like this is a
new thing for us. But women are here in the
world that need probably the other ones that need most
of the protection.

Speaker 3 (15:15):
So I got to tell you women has the I
am not asking what.

Speaker 8 (15:21):
I don't want to know.

Speaker 3 (15:22):
Women are the are the biggest demographic. Especially during COVID.
I'm buying guns.

Speaker 6 (15:27):
And oh yeah, yeah it did. So I'm so really
I'm an advocate for having women not just get a
gun and have the holster, but also to know and
feel confident with using their gun.

Speaker 3 (15:41):
Okay, so this is it's really designed for women.

Speaker 8 (15:44):
It is for women.

Speaker 2 (15:46):
Your classes are designed for women. Ye, both, And then
you actually have self defense classes, not this gun classes exactly.

Speaker 6 (15:53):
Well, I mean if you okay, let's say you didn't
have your gun on you, you still want to have
the knowledge and the confidence to know what it is
you need to do to get yourself out of a situation.
And this has nothing to do with strength. It's all
about small techniques and when if you ever are in
that type of situation, you can draw from the information
like oh I remember, I can do this with my hands,

(16:13):
and I can get out of this hold, you know.
And that's what we want women to do, is like
there's no need to fear, like, grab the knowledge that
you're learning from these workshops and know and feel confident
about being out and about with your friends, being out
and about with your kids, you know, know, be aware
of what's around.

Speaker 3 (16:33):
Well yeah, and you.

Speaker 2 (16:34):
Know we're you know Casey change her. Her whole thing is,
uh is shoot first, then tayse they shoot again?

Speaker 8 (16:42):
Yeah, shoot shoot too. I'm sorry that sounds So here's
the question.

Speaker 2 (16:48):
We're going to be talking about this later in the show,
hopefully if we have time. Do you so this is
this is like a question that's that's you know, were
not just just do you carry with.

Speaker 3 (16:58):
Around in the chamber?

Speaker 8 (16:59):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (17:00):
I do?

Speaker 1 (17:01):
I do.

Speaker 3 (17:03):
Get one actually? Okay, okay, can you answer this question? Okay,
I don't our listener, Eric, No, we'll save this for
sorry Eric.

Speaker 8 (17:22):
Well, but you didn't ask me where I hold her?

Speaker 3 (17:25):
Well, okay, so I just thought.

Speaker 1 (17:27):
That would be indiscreet. But okay, because for.

Speaker 4 (17:30):
Guys like Clark and myself and I know many others,
we have different holsters for different ways we dress.

Speaker 3 (17:38):
Like and So I mean, do you have solutions for
women that.

Speaker 6 (17:42):
I from ankle holsters to inside the waistband to brow
holsters to belly bands.

Speaker 8 (17:49):
So there's lots of different options. I'm shoe thing. It
is a shoe thing, a thing.

Speaker 1 (17:57):
It's a she her thing, yeah.

Speaker 8 (17:59):
Her pechnical.

Speaker 6 (18:01):
So when you see me at a gun show, Yeah,
if you see me at a show, like, I'm the
one in black and pink and purple, Like I stand
out like.

Speaker 4 (18:08):
A star thumb and you can't miss you as you
walk in to the show. You're on the left side.

Speaker 8 (18:13):
Yeah, right by the entrance.

Speaker 3 (18:14):
Yep, right by the entrance.

Speaker 4 (18:16):
Now okay, So with the different options, what's more common?
What would you say is more common for women to
carry how they carry it?

Speaker 6 (18:24):
Well, I'll tell you what my number one ceiling product is.
It's the thigh holster.

Speaker 3 (18:29):
Really.

Speaker 8 (18:29):
Yeah, so a thigh.

Speaker 6 (18:31):
Holster is actually worn under address, which to me was
surprising because most of us are wearing jeans and leggings.

Speaker 3 (18:36):
So the garter belt thing wasn't too far off.

Speaker 8 (18:39):
Well it is. So it's a set. It's a thigh
holster with the gater belt.

Speaker 6 (18:43):
And I never suggest that you wear the thigh holster
on its own because one gravity will always win and
your leg actually narrows, so you know, yes, yes, so
you want that extra support. So if you're going to
get a thigh holster, get the gater belt support to
go with it.

Speaker 2 (19:00):
When I think the thigh holster, I think on the
on the tactical thigh holster on the outside.

Speaker 3 (19:05):
This is inside.

Speaker 6 (19:06):
This, this is inside the thigh against your skin.

Speaker 8 (19:09):
You were addressed over it.

Speaker 2 (19:11):
I actually knew a guy that wore an inside the
thigh holster with shorts.

Speaker 3 (19:15):
Baggy shorts, okay with her dress.

Speaker 6 (19:17):
Look, I actually get guys that will buy my thigh
but I am dazzled other for reasons like so I
actually get guys that will wear their Scottish wearing.

Speaker 8 (19:35):
Yeah, yeah, yeah there are. I see them here at
the gun shows.

Speaker 6 (19:39):
So it's like, no, it's legit, like they actually are
wanting to conceal they're wearing a chair for the time.

Speaker 1 (19:45):
I'm not going to ask them to show me their
thigh holes.

Speaker 8 (19:49):
That they're wearing.

Speaker 2 (19:49):
One save Vicky at Vicky ki we over at her
tactical her tacticle dot com. Sign up for the classes,
find out more about this and get all those type
of holsters. Hey, Mother's Day is coming up, yes, and
Fathers Day and uh and all those days.

Speaker 1 (20:09):
Buy something now, VICKI thank you so much for being
on gun Radio game. I appreciate you.

Speaker 3 (20:14):
And we've got a lot more to cover here on
Gun Radio Utah. Stay tuned. We'll be right back.

Speaker 2 (20:19):
I was talking to our guests, and we are here
live at the crossovers of the West Gun Show ninety
fourth South and State Street.

Speaker 1 (20:26):
If you go to ninety fourth South and State Street, yeah,
you're just a block away.

Speaker 3 (20:31):
You can't miss this on.

Speaker 2 (20:32):
The north side of the big Expo Center, the Mountain
America Credit Union Expo Center whatever.

Speaker 3 (20:37):
Mack you and uh.

Speaker 2 (20:40):
But right now we are joined by Ken Matthews with Medica. Ken,
you've been on gun Radio Utah many many times and
for this. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (20:51):
Yeah, it's in the mail.

Speaker 2 (20:52):
Okay, So it's if you go to and it's a
different kind of Can we do the MSN dot.

Speaker 1 (20:58):
Com one or do you want the other one email address?

Speaker 2 (21:01):
Okay, So medic underscore, that's the that's not the dash,
it's the underscore medic underscore up at MSN dot com.

Speaker 1 (21:10):
And uh and oh here's what can I give the
phone number? Sure?

Speaker 3 (21:14):
Is that? Okay?

Speaker 2 (21:14):
Yeah, I don't know if they're going to call it
ATO one two zero nine ten seventy one one two
zero nine, ten seventy one.

Speaker 1 (21:21):
Because Ken is the real real deal. I know you've
seen all the medical kits and all that kind of stuff.

Speaker 2 (21:30):
Ken has literally been there and done that from helicopters
on the sides of mountains, and.

Speaker 3 (21:39):
You're a huge gun guy. You're a big gun guy too,
so uh, we have some questions though for you. Okay,
So I've got this big kit.

Speaker 1 (21:48):
I have lots of medical kits, lots, so I'm ready
for everything.

Speaker 5 (21:51):
Right.

Speaker 3 (21:52):
As long as I have that kit with me, I'm
good to go.

Speaker 5 (21:54):
Right.

Speaker 1 (21:54):
Sure, Sure, you have no more important than you met
kid is your knowledge.

Speaker 5 (22:01):
So what's in your head is much more important what's
in your medpack because you can jury rig crab. A
good medpack is going to make it so you don't
have to jury rig all those brain cells that you
would use to figure out how you can jury rig
something you can use on trying to second guess what's
going to happen next with the patients. Here, your step
to a head of the whole incident.

Speaker 1 (22:21):
So I found this one. I found this one sheet
in there.

Speaker 2 (22:23):
It's a big sheet and it was sticky on one side,
and so I put it over the patient's face so
they wouldn't get dust in their eyes.

Speaker 3 (22:30):
And that's what that's for.

Speaker 6 (22:31):
It.

Speaker 1 (22:32):
Then you pull out your dagger and poke a hole
closely to wear that mouth is I did those holes?
Then you also have a dagger, and that's what that
sheet is for, right I am assuming?

Speaker 3 (22:42):
Okay, anyway, continue.

Speaker 4 (22:45):
Well here's the big thing. I mean, you brought up
a really good point knowledge knowledge, knowledge, and as long
as we have an idea. I remember when I was
doing my medical training, I have to have so many
CMS hours, you know, re certify as a medic we
would always I mean improvise. And one of the favorite

(23:05):
classes I were talking up at the University of Utah
is called back wilderness uh medicine. Back yeah, backcountry wilderness medicine.
Loved it, loved it, loved it because it got you
thinking outside of the valley.

Speaker 3 (23:19):
Here.

Speaker 4 (23:20):
Okay, you're in a different area. Help's going to take
a while before it gets to you.

Speaker 2 (23:25):
What do you have?

Speaker 3 (23:26):
What can you use to improvise to save a life?

Speaker 1 (23:29):
So anything in the woods that you can find.

Speaker 5 (23:32):
So part of it's going to be we got what
twenty four or some odd number of hospitals along the
Loss That's front.

Speaker 1 (23:39):
We're spoiled.

Speaker 5 (23:40):
Yeah, if you're out an hour away from a trailhead,
you either got helicopter hopeful access or you got nothing
and you're on your outside.

Speaker 3 (23:48):
You've got communication. You went.

Speaker 1 (23:49):
I went to it.

Speaker 3 (23:50):
I was on a trail.

Speaker 2 (23:50):
O case JANEA and I were on a trail up
just a canyon right here in the Long Lost That's
front in Soula County, and I passed a sign that said,
beyond this sign, you're basically on your own.

Speaker 1 (24:02):
It literally said that, I mean, we're responsible for ourselves.

Speaker 2 (24:05):
Well, yeah, so, Casey, and that's that's why I always
bring two guns and three knives on a on a.

Speaker 5 (24:11):
On a two slower people than yourself right right now.
And so the whole thing is you can jury rig
pretty much anything. We're intelligent people generally and heard we're not,
but by ourselves are pretty intelligent. We can figure out
if we have the knowledge of what our goal is
and what we need to accomplish, we could figure something
out to do with But The whole point of gabbing

(24:32):
a medkid is knowledge and medicine equalis magic. Because if
you've got the med gear that makes me super efficient,
super fast putting on a pressure dressing or a tourniquet,
then I don't have to worry about what am I
gonna I'm gonna pull my shoelace off and make a
tourniquet out of that and try to find a stick
that will hold, and then how am I going to
secure that? I got a great story about my dad

(24:53):
saving a life with a bow string. He was a
bow hunter and used a recurve extra bowstring that he
always carried to save the life of his buddy that
is stuck a broadhead in his fermeral artery running through
the brush chasing elk.

Speaker 3 (25:06):
Wow. So that's that's thinking outside of the box. I
mean right, it's like what do I have and what
can I use?

Speaker 2 (25:12):
Yeah, here's a there's a question now, But that only
happens if you have the knowledge.

Speaker 3 (25:17):
How do people get the knowledge?

Speaker 5 (25:19):
So twelve years of medical school, four years of nursing school,
find a good class, get an old boy Scout manual,
and go through that first state. Half the crap that
we improvise out in the field. Isn't an old boy
scout man to go to d I get an old
boy scout manual.

Speaker 1 (25:36):
I'm sure you online.

Speaker 5 (25:39):
Yeah, okay, so the newer ones, because.

Speaker 2 (25:43):
It's not it's not boy scouts, it's boisons anyway, it's
her scout anyway.

Speaker 3 (25:49):
So so I heard this.

Speaker 2 (25:51):
I remember taking a class one time and they said
they kind of divided, you know, injuries into three different things,
and they said one, They're just not going to make
it no matter what you do.

Speaker 3 (26:01):
No matter what you do there, Yeah, thanks.

Speaker 1 (26:03):
You can use all your gear, doesn't matter.

Speaker 5 (26:05):
If there's brain tissue on the ground or completely absolute
crushed chest or a hemicore back to me, where they're
torn in half an unresponsive, doesn't matter.

Speaker 2 (26:15):
It wouldn't make it even if they were at the
emergency room with that. And then there's the Then there's
the other side, which is it doesn't matter what you do,
they're gonna be fine.

Speaker 3 (26:24):
Right kind of a thing.

Speaker 1 (26:25):
Crackheads and drunks.

Speaker 3 (26:27):
Oh is that right? Okay? All right? And then the
numbers up on scene and like, is that right?

Speaker 1 (26:32):
This car is a wreck? Where's the driver? Oh, he's
running through the field trying to get away. He doesn't
get want to get arrested. So and and then there's
that middle one where they will die unless you do
something right and you do have the ability to change
it wrecked and say very right.

Speaker 5 (26:49):
So that is the three common that's how we break
it down, the ones that and that's what trios is about. Well,
if you had a crystal wallet to tell what sos were,
and we got some signs of symptoms that we can
use as guidelines.

Speaker 1 (27:00):
But that's what triage is. Who's going to die no
matter what I do.

Speaker 5 (27:03):
I don't want to waste, as horrible as that sounds,
resources and time on them if somebody else needs me
right this minute, because their airways blocked and all I
got to go do is manipulate their airway a little
bit and their airway.

Speaker 1 (27:14):
Opens up and they live. And that person I was
going to spend all my time on and my gear
on was going to die.

Speaker 3 (27:20):
Yeah yeah, great, great information.

Speaker 1 (27:22):
So can you give us some advice on buying a kit?
And I know because I'm going.

Speaker 2 (27:26):
To say, if you go to medic up dot wix
and that's wix dot com slash medic up, I know
it's a lot. You can replay this back on podcast
medic up dot wix dot com, slash METAUP.

Speaker 1 (27:41):
Right, sure, okay, I want you to fix that website, but.

Speaker 2 (27:47):
Tell us about kits. I have a hundred piece kit,
and I know it's good, right okay.

Speaker 5 (27:54):
Right there if my opinion my opinion only, if you're
advertising a kit based on the number of pieces in it,
I can give you three hundred and fifty aspirn and
a band aid and that's a three hundred and fifty
one piece kit.

Speaker 1 (28:07):
I'm not taking that sucker anywhere.

Speaker 5 (28:09):
So I built kits that I would take if I
was getting off the helicopter or getting out of the
swat truck or whatever I was doing.

Speaker 1 (28:14):
I would be comfortable with any of my kids.

Speaker 5 (28:17):
If you hang around Bill, you'll have a chance to
use those for this stop total magnet. So I always
get the call, Hey, Ken, any gloves, Bill, what happened?

Speaker 3 (28:27):
Okay? So I just have to throw this in there.

Speaker 1 (28:29):
In the short time we have left last gun show.

Speaker 2 (28:33):
Right here, Bill runs Bill running your booth and grabs
one of your kids and says, follow me.

Speaker 1 (28:42):
I thought he was the second lieutenant on euog Man.

Speaker 3 (28:45):
Oh Man, follow me and you had to some guy
almost cut his hand in half.

Speaker 1 (28:51):
Well, yeah, we get out up there, and I know
my kids in inside and out. Bill didn't.

Speaker 5 (28:55):
He said, there's no battle dressing in her said, yes,
there isn't handed him in a great big battle dressing.

Speaker 1 (29:00):
We get over.

Speaker 5 (29:00):
There's a pretty good splash of blood on the floor,
and there was a buzzy looking guy that was getting
a little woozy and a pretty good books spotter, and
you know.

Speaker 1 (29:11):
Knives, there's guns.

Speaker 5 (29:12):
I didn't hear a bang, and so I knew it
wasn't a gunshot rooms, So took care of the problem
and off he went to the ov to the ear.

Speaker 3 (29:21):
Yeah, all good. Yeah, you just don't know where things
are going to happen. But he don't tell you.

Speaker 2 (29:27):
But he was passing out getting ready. So he had
passed out and he was still bleeding. He would be
passed out and bleeding without it being stopped, right.

Speaker 5 (29:35):
So you got to have a plan, and you know,
if you're really good at this, you have a plan
two steps past what you're doing right this minute, because
something's going to change its dynamic situation.

Speaker 3 (29:46):
Very same, very good point, Kim, Thank you so much.

Speaker 4 (29:49):
Medic up our great advisor on all things medical for sure,
and communication and communication, and we've.

Speaker 3 (29:58):
Got a lot more coming. So stay tuned here on
Gun Radio Utah.

Speaker 1 (30:02):
You know what, you have the screen in front of
you that has Denny giving us the gesture the fingers.

Speaker 3 (30:07):
So to speak. Welcome back to Gun Radio Utah.

Speaker 2 (30:10):
I'm your host, Clark a Potion sitting right next to me,
uncomfortably close.

Speaker 1 (30:15):
Bill Petterson, Director of Utah Shooting Sports Council.

Speaker 2 (30:17):
We got Randall Doyle and I think Henry was out
there a while too, out in the front, you know,
getting memberships and that kind of stuff out in the
lobby before you come in. You can join us here
at Crossroads at the West Gun Show ninety four South
and State Street in beautiful downtown Sandy at the Mountain
America Expo Center.

Speaker 3 (30:37):
Yeah, so there we go.

Speaker 2 (30:38):
We are located actually inside the show at the back wall,
next to the women's bathroom, but right by Daggers of
Destiny Knives which are really cool knives, and Utah Safe Outlet.

Speaker 3 (30:51):
So there we go. We had joined Brent.

Speaker 2 (30:55):
Thank you you are busy over there, so I appreciate
you doing. Brent, connect with Flash my brass.

Speaker 3 (31:00):
You flash my breash dot com.

Speaker 2 (31:01):
Right, yep, absolutely so, not only here are you here
at the gun shows?

Speaker 3 (31:05):
You have two locations?

Speaker 2 (31:07):
What are the locations if you and write these down
because this anytime somebody says I need to buy a
bunch of AMM or I need to buy this and that,
I just I don't.

Speaker 3 (31:17):
I just say go to flash my bras. That's that's it.
That's it.

Speaker 9 (31:19):
Then, Orum, We're eighteen oh two sand Hill Road. We're
down the street from Walmart and Toyota and then Draper
were four thirty eight, four thirty eight West, one hundred
and twenty third South.

Speaker 3 (31:29):
Yeah, so just easy to get to.

Speaker 1 (31:32):
Or you can go and flash my breast dot com.

Speaker 2 (31:34):
Okay, so you're in the industry and you have been
studying this industry, know this industry.

Speaker 3 (31:42):
Prices are cheap right now, are they not.

Speaker 9 (31:44):
They're the cheapest they've been in years. I mean we're
talking go back pre COVID, go to twenty eighteen, twenty nineteen,
back when they called it the Trump slump on pricing.
That's where we're at right now. It's it's hard to
see how prices would get any low. We're in this cycle.

Speaker 2 (32:01):
I cannot I've never seen a cycle, certainly in the
last thirty years, go this long without the availability.

Speaker 3 (32:10):
First the availability, I don't know if it's first or whatever.

Speaker 2 (32:12):
The first the availability goes down and then the prices
go and I'm talking overnight almost oh yeah.

Speaker 5 (32:19):
On that.

Speaker 9 (32:19):
When something happens, it happens fast, and a lot of
times the distributors and then the retailers have to look
at it as a replacement cost, and so they'll say, oh, well,
this is how much we have on hand, but if
I order it tomorrow and it comes in two weeks
from now, it's now going to cost us this much
more to get it. And we saw that with Russia, Ukraine,
we saw that with Israel Kamas. We saw that to

(32:42):
a very small extent with tariffs that then got suspended.
But you know, we'll see what happens over the next
ninety days.

Speaker 3 (32:49):
But I mean the tariffs are on again, off again.

Speaker 9 (32:51):
Yeah, And the way I understand it, there still is
that minimal ten percent tariff. And a big thing is
the nitrocellulus that we that everybody sources. A lot of
that comes from China. I don't know where the China
tariffs are going to go, and really how we're going
to play with China right now.

Speaker 2 (33:07):
I mean, all they all China would have to do
is say, you know what, let's let's put extra tariffs
on nitrocellulos and which is your the gunpowder and prime
and or we're just gonna kind of stop selling kind
of like they have so many pharmaceutical things and that's
a dangerous thing.

Speaker 9 (33:26):
And unfortunately we've given up a lot of this production
and we don't we're not responsible for our own uh
nitrocellulos thus gunpowder.

Speaker 2 (33:35):
You know, as much as has made it so hard
for US companies to manufacture here in the United States,
they would rather go to some other country where you know,
but anyway that doesn't have anything.

Speaker 9 (33:46):
We're still reliant on the finished product, and you know,
we need it for our components, and so it doesn't
puts pressure on the overall price. But again, the price
and the availability right now, I mean, I there are
just a couple things we may be sold out of
a couple of random obscure calibers, but almost everything is
in stock and pricing that you haven't seen for five

(34:08):
six years.

Speaker 2 (34:10):
So now you have obviously US manufactured, I mean, your
your Winchester your PMC or Winch, Winchester.

Speaker 9 (34:18):
Federal, Remington, Hornity are all going to be your US manufacturer.

Speaker 3 (34:23):
You've also got yeah, I mean Israeli.

Speaker 9 (34:26):
You've got you know, Eastern good brands. I mean brands
that have been around for one hundred years or more.
S and B, Yeah, S and B out of Czech Republic,
PPU out of Serbia, PMC out of South Korea that honestly,
you stack them against any of the Federals and the Winchesters,
and they're every bit is good, sometimes even better.

Speaker 2 (34:45):
They're I gotta tell you, I was doing PPU and
I was doing S and B through a machine gun
at like eleven hundred rounds a minute, and I was
never getting malfunctions.

Speaker 3 (34:54):
Oh yeah, I mean, I don't know. As far as
velocity goes, it seems like the same I wasn't. I
wasn't running a I mean, we sell them all.

Speaker 9 (35:01):
We sell the domestic manufacturers and the foreign And it's
funny because we having the stores here at the gun show,
we'll tell everyone we're local.

Speaker 1 (35:08):
If you ever have a problem with anything, we'll always
be able.

Speaker 9 (35:12):
To exchange it to work with you, no matter what
you know, returns aren't typical on ammunition, but where we
want to make sure the customer has what they're going
to need quality wise to shoot and so but yeah,
I mean all those brands are going to be really strong.

Speaker 2 (35:26):
And you do and you mentioned it before, you have
some some more obscure, seemingly somewhat obscure Winchester Special.

Speaker 9 (35:36):
There five all the seven metrics like seven French, seven, Argentine,
Swiss six, five Suede.

Speaker 3 (35:44):
I mean, there's just and you have them in single boxes.
You also have them in case cases.

Speaker 9 (35:49):
We've got some deals going on right now that are
starting for the Easter week. We've got nine milimeter mag
Tech and PMC that are going to we'll do this
as a gun rate Utah special. So two twenty for
a case of one thousand rounds of nine mil Magtech
or PMC and then four to twenty five for a

(36:10):
case of two two three PMC. That's awesome, man tasting,
that would be good the rest of today and all
next week.

Speaker 3 (36:17):
Give us the website, give us the locations.

Speaker 9 (36:19):
Slash my brass dot com, and then Orum eighteen oh
two Santel Road Draper four thirty eight West one hundred
and twenty third South.

Speaker 2 (36:28):
So if you're going if you're going west down one
hundred and twenty third South, yeah, be beware, don't go
under the overpass.

Speaker 3 (36:37):
Be ready to turn quick.

Speaker 1 (36:38):
Once you pass the Starbucks.

Speaker 3 (36:40):
We're about a block and a half west.

Speaker 2 (36:41):
Get ready to turn past the Starbucks because otherwise you
got to make a U turn on that busy street.
There you go.

Speaker 3 (36:49):
Yeah, awesome, Brent, thank you so much. Absolutely appreciate you.

Speaker 4 (36:52):
Appreciate your support with Gun Radio, Utah and Clark. We're
just about ready to wrap up the show here again,
your last famous last.

Speaker 3 (36:59):
Words for us. I'm gonna go get my jag and ride.
You're gonna go get your jagg and ride. Okay, yeah,
so you want to bring in the next segment. We
don't have another type one. Yeah you know, Bill, Bill,
you know what we are done.

Speaker 2 (37:14):
So yeah, yeah, So so anyways, the Gun Show is
going to continue on after us for another hour tomorrow
nine to three. Big thanks to Tracy for hosting us
here at Crosswords and West Gun.

Speaker 4 (37:25):
I think our producer Denny back in the studio, think
our friends are ready by g for lenn Us put
this on the way.

Speaker 5 (37:32):
They do.

Speaker 3 (37:33):
Have a great weekend. Everyone, we'll see you next week,
