Speaker 1 (00:00):
I'm your's Clark a potion. Bill gave me an eye
roll on that one.
Speaker 2 (00:03):
Yeah, I thought you're Siri. What about our Syrie apple folks?
Speaker 1 (00:07):
Really, I don't know, I don't know. You're in a
pink shirt. How can I take you? Seriously?
Speaker 2 (00:12):
Hey, because across weekend, I mean, this is kind of
my eighties supercross motocross stuff.
Speaker 1 (00:19):
So yeah, I doesn't I'm not buying that. Uh, yeah,
it's a pink shirt. Anyway, good for you. You know what,
it takes a lot of guts to be able to
wear a shirt and and uh and and you know,
when you're feeling okay about yourself.
Speaker 2 (00:32):
I feel very confident.
Speaker 1 (00:34):
You feel confident and you rode a motor Wait a minute,
and rode a motorcycle? Did you have like a motorcycle
jacket on covering your You literally were on the Africa
Twin in your pink shirt in your Yeah.
Speaker 2 (00:47):
Big gorgeous day, georgeous day for everyone. But yeah, big
van up at the university am a supercross and boy
have we got news for you. We're going to talk
about what is happening up there, the supercross.
Speaker 1 (01:01):
The Supercross. Hit the fan, Yeah, it is hit the fan.
So to speak. Good, We're gonna have Representative Trevor Leon
representing the conservative side of the Utah legislature. That don't
you dare side of the Utah legislature. And uh yeah,
so we've got that. We're going to talk about the
FEDS and the the lawyers for the FEDS and at
(01:25):
least until they've been reined in by bye bye by
Trump's government, they're insisting that the Second Amendment does not
protect machine guns. Okay, anyway, okay, yeah, yeah, so we're
gonna we're gonna have a chat about that. It's bigger.
It's bigger than that, I think. Also the ATF, speaking
(01:47):
of the FEDS, the A t F wants new suppressors
and they're going to a Utah company to fulfill that.
But why do they need new suppressors? They tell us why,
But it's it's okay for me, but not for the
kind of.
Speaker 2 (02:05):
Oh so I can't use the same excuse for my wife.
Speaker 1 (02:08):
No you cannot. Oh, okay, you cannot.
Speaker 3 (02:10):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (02:11):
In addition to when we oh, we are going to
be talking about the University of Utah. You you know what, Bill,
have I been a little bit irritated? Yes, so to speak, well.
Speaker 2 (02:22):
Ever since we heard about this, and it's it's kind
of irritating all of us. It's it's not making us happy,
it's almost makes me want I didn't buy a take,
so anyway, you.
Speaker 1 (02:32):
Was violating state law. Let me just come right out
to it. And today at a motocross event too. Who
did they think would be at a motocross event a
bunch of wine drinking, cheese eating libs.
Speaker 2 (02:43):
So anyway, well, yeah, saying how come you like?
Speaker 1 (02:47):
So our good friend Cody reached out to us and said,
and we're going to be talking about this second segment,
but I'll just kind of he reached out to it
and said, hey, uh, they just they wouldn't let me
into the motocross event at rice Ecles because I had
a gun. And I'm like, of course you have a gun,
and it's a public place, so what's the problem, he says,
And I have a concealed carry permit. I says, well,
(03:08):
you've got the two things that you know that that
you need you to go in there. You got the
one thing you need you to go in there. And
he didn't walk a mile and a half back to
his car, and I said, what the heck? Are you
doing so? I want to talk about that. I want
to talk about that and the other ancillary things that that.
I'm tired as as chair of the Utah Shooting Sports
(03:29):
Council and you as director. We're kind of we've been there.
We dealt with the story before.
Speaker 2 (03:35):
So many times.
Speaker 1 (03:36):
We have dealt with this. We have met with the
higher ups, and we've met with the attorneys for the U.
We've met with all of them, and every time we
think we have this figured out, and they begrudgingly understand
or accept that, they continue.
Speaker 2 (03:54):
Yes, I personally, I don't think they care. I just
think they don't care. You know why they don't care? Bill,
because it's like, well, we're gonna win at the end.
Speaker 1 (04:07):
Well, no, but they but they don't. They let me
ask you this, Okay, if you violated a firearm law,
if you violated a firearm law, would you care?
Speaker 2 (04:17):
Absolutely?
Speaker 1 (04:18):
How come because I go to jail exactly right, that's
the difference.
Speaker 2 (04:21):
But here's the thing. They they are saying, and no
one's gonna get hurt, you know what? And I know
no one's gonna get hurt.
Speaker 1 (04:30):
Oh you mean, no one's gonna suffer any penalty similar criminals.
Speaker 2 (04:33):
Yeah, exactly, and they're going to say, let's just make
this uncomfortable for them as much as we can and
let them deal with it. We're not going to let
any of these people in and we're gonna let them suffer.
And and then someone comes back, planes they blame.
Speaker 1 (04:50):
They'll blame the uninformed or perhaps you know, accidental misstep
by a private security company or their security at the U,
or someone got a wrong or they'll say, oh, the
person didn't understand, they didn't have to take it back there.
Speaker 2 (05:08):
An uncertainty and doubt is what they're pushing on, and
they're hoping that hits any law abiding gun owner in
any way to help them take well basically the help.
It takes their rights and privileges away from them.
Speaker 1 (05:24):
So Bill, I ask you, did they really think that
at a motocross event and they're banning guns, that the
Utah Shooting Sports Council wouldn't get wind of it. We
got wind of it instantly, yea, and yeah, and we moved.
We contacted the appropriate state legislators and one of them
is going to be on second segment, Representative Trevor Lee,
And we contacted the University police department immediately and had
(05:50):
a good chat with their sergeant there. So were it
not for the show, Were it not for the show,
we'd both be up there at the U right now
dealing with it. So anyway, all right, so we are
going to be talking about yeah, like I said, the
ATF and their new suppressor, the FEDS and talking about
(06:10):
Second Amendment. I want a new suppressor, you do. I
actually going through some things. I want a whole bunch
of new suppressors and some of the weapons I want
suppressors for. My barrel isn't threaded, So I'm going to
run it. I'm gonna pick the ones I want, and
I'm going to get them over to the gunsmith at
(06:31):
Sportsman's Warehouse.
Speaker 2 (06:32):
I knew it was going.
Speaker 1 (06:33):
You knew I was going somewhere with that, because generally speaking,
I never have a tie in. You know, it's always
you know, it's it's always something. So anyways, you can
get it over to the gunsmith at Sportsman's Warehouse if
you knew your barrel threaded for a shush can a silencer,
a suppressor the same, or a muzzle break or a
(06:54):
flash hider if you want to hide some flashes or
whatever you need done to your gun, get it over
to the gunsmith at Sportsman's Warehouse sixteen thirty South fifty
seventy West in Salt Lake City. Give them a call
it eight oh one three zero four eighty seventy, or
take it into any of the over one hundred and
forty six Sportsmen's Warehouse locations which owns the gunsmith by
(07:18):
the way, they also own Legacy Shooting Sports in West Jordan,
and get it over to them and tell them, Hey,
I need this done to the gun. So what do
you got bill?
Speaker 2 (07:29):
Hey, flash my Brass has got their weekend specials going on.
If you want to go out and check out, well,
if you want to get your significant mother a nice
bouquet of AMMO, really great way to do it. Just
go flash my Brass. They've got it nine mil five
five six two two three forty five.
Speaker 1 (07:51):
What if I'm listening to this down south kind of
in the southern Salt Lake area.
Speaker 2 (07:57):
You can go down to the orm location, well, drapers
four thirty eight south or west, I mean one hundred
and twenty three. No, that's not right. Let me look
at that. Right is four thirty eight? Yeah, okay, I
screwed that up. Four thirty eight west, one hundred and
twenty three hundred, one twenty three hundred south in Draper
(08:19):
And for all you non Utahns, add two zeros to
that and head south.
Speaker 1 (08:24):
What if you were to say one hundred and twenty third.
Is that how they say it?
Speaker 2 (08:27):
Yeah, that's how we normally, she.
Speaker 1 (08:28):
Used to say in ninetieth when it's nine thousand, ninetieth. Yeah,
you know something like that. But lot of people don't
figure that out.
Speaker 2 (08:35):
What about the orange location eighteen oh two sand Hill
Road in orm and go check them out. Tell me
you heard us on gun Radio Utah. And when we
come back, we're going to talk with Representative Trevor to
Lee and see if we can get to the bottom
of this Utah University of Utah issue. Stay tuned. Great
things that they've done for all of us.
Speaker 1 (08:54):
That the one time per year you're supposed to call
your mom.
Speaker 2 (08:56):
At least the one time per year exactly. Hey, we
are excited to have you on this with us today.
We've got some kind of big news developing news, controversy, controversy,
but that doesn't I mean that always happens with the
University of Utah and firearms. Whenever you mix those two together,
(09:19):
it's just like disaster.
Speaker 1 (09:22):
Well, controversy is why we have our guest.
Speaker 2 (09:25):
On exactly, and we are so glad to have Representative
Trevor Leon with us from District sixteen. Now, Trevor, welcome
to Gun Radio Utah. And I got to ask you,
Representative District sixteen that encompasses all of Davis County.
Speaker 4 (09:40):
Right, No, just East Layton area around Hill Air Force.
Speaker 2 (09:44):
Base, Ah, the bougie area of Davis County.
Speaker 4 (09:48):
I mean, yeah, it's the best area in the state.
Speaker 2 (09:51):
But actually that's why I grew up for a couple
of years, is up there on just off Antelope Drive
and just off Hillfield Road. It was actually a fun area,
lots of fun. As a kid with a pelagun, a
twenty two and a bow, you could entertain yourself the
entire weekend. But hey, thanks for coming and joining us
on Gun Radio Utah. We're talking about this University of Utah.
(10:13):
You're up to speed on us because us some of
us folks have this secret social society of transmitting information
rapidly to amongst many representatives and people are involved in
the gun community. And we've got one today where they're
just killing us up at the University of Utah allowing
(10:36):
firearms into the facility there.
Speaker 1 (10:39):
So yeah, so representatively, and I know you're aware of this.
Just as of today, we got to notice from one
of our gun Radio Utah listeners that they are banning
firearms at the University of Utah. Now there is a
way obviously for the UTA ban guns except right now
under Utah state law, if you have a shield carry
(11:00):
permit issued by the State of Utah, they can't ban them.
And yet they are doing so anyway in defiance of
our state preemption.
Speaker 3 (11:08):
Your thoughts, Yeah, no, So I think first and foremost
one thing every gun Second Amendment lover everyone in the
state of Utah should understand and know is how on
top of it you guys are and we in the
legislature are making sure that these things do not happen,
and if they do, please reach out to your representative.
Know your rights as a gun holder. We do a
(11:29):
really good job in this state to make sure we're
a very Second Amendment friendly state.
Speaker 4 (11:33):
And so when.
Speaker 3 (11:33):
Instances like this happen, I think and Bill you hit
it pretty good earlier, which essentially is there has got
to be some type of teeth behind the bills that
we run for this. I mean, if this was if
the shoe was on the other foot here, you guys
are exactly right. There's no hesitation to put someone in jail.
And this is how we as conservatives and a second Amendment,
(11:55):
you know, freedom fighters.
Speaker 4 (11:57):
This is how we do it.
Speaker 3 (11:58):
Is we put teeth in the bills to make sure
that there are consequences to those that don't fall the
law from our side and our point of view. And
you know, it's interesting because Representative Layer rend the bill
to allow this to be in events if it's in
a public space. Well, the University of Utah definitely is
a public space, and in fact, taxpayers we help fund
and pay for a lot of the events that go
(12:19):
up there. And so you know, when I reach out
to the you and say, hey, we've got some problems here, guys,
and they go, well, whoa, Well this is a private event.
Well it doesn't matter. It's on public property, public grounds,
and the laws the law, and so you know what
we're gonna have to do. And it's unfortunate, but just
it is the way things are. So we're gonna have
to go back in session. We're gonna have to add
some teeth to this. So there are consequences that if
(12:41):
this doesn't go from the you and goes to these
private event people to say, hey, if you're gonna hold
an event here, the law is the law.
Speaker 4 (12:47):
And this is this is what it is.
Speaker 3 (12:49):
And I know they've had events that have chosen not
to come to Utah because of our laws, and that's fine.
Speaker 4 (12:53):
Yeah, but this is no exception.
Speaker 1 (12:56):
Yeah yeah, And you know, I'm just throwing this out
there to be wild and abusive. Uh we docked the
president of the University of Utah's salary, and I'll bet
you the first time we dock his salary for a
violation of this that down the line, he'll find out
who it was that issued the order to pan guns
at at an event like this. And uh So, anyway,
(13:18):
but but I don't think, I know, Representative Malloy passed
a law. I mean, like you said that that said
even if it's a government owned facility used by a
private entity, they can't do that. So I mean, we worked,
we worked on this with the Maverick Center, which is
owned by West Valley City and so on and so forth.
Speaker 2 (13:37):
So anyway, well, and hopefully this will pick up with
Salt Lake County at the gun shows as well.
Speaker 1 (13:44):
Yeah, you can't tell me that the university didn't know.
I mean I have two I have to uh some
gun radio Utah listeners transmitted me two separate signs, two
different signs. Both of them say no firearms with a
you know, firearm with a big slash through it. They
didn't have an asterisk next to it or accept as
allowed by state law or anything like that. There was
(14:06):
on one sign a little thing that said for more
information after the no umbrellas, no water bottles or whatever
it was. For more information, go to Stadium Utah dot
edu and if you look through there, after about four
or five clicks, you can find what the actual law. Well,
it says no weapons unless expressly permitted by state law.
(14:28):
And I think most people are going to look at
that and say, oh, I don't know if I have
an express permission under state law. Well, that's their permit.
Speaker 2 (14:35):
That's the problem is that little statement that they added
there at the end expressively permitted.
Speaker 1 (14:41):
But they're going to use that to hide behind it.
Speaker 2 (14:42):
I say always, but it's not like expressively not permitted. No,
you have a right, if you're a law buying gun owner,
you have and you have a concealed carry permit, you
don't need to worry about the fine print after that.
Speaker 3 (14:55):
Okay, And guys to give to give President Randal credit
here because he is a very Second Amendment pro friendly guy.
Speaker 4 (15:02):
There's a lot of bureaucracy that has to get through.
Speaker 3 (15:04):
To it because he's a busy man and he's running
their events and the university and other things. But there
is someone else in charge who is probably three or
four prongs below him, who made this decision. Then that's
where the accountability needs to happen. It needs to be
whoever was in charge of putting on this event to
make sure that the private company who was going to
come into the city Utah clearly understood what our state
(15:27):
laws are. And that's where we have the issue. The
problem that I see, and I see this across the
state is you get these people that work for some
of these public entities who either don't agree with what
we're doing or they don't know. And if it's the
don't know, well, then they need to get up to
speed very quickly and understand that if someone calls him
and it says hey, like this is a state law.
They need to be very quick to interpret and understand
(15:50):
that the law is the law.
Speaker 4 (15:52):
Or if they did know.
Speaker 3 (15:53):
Well, there should be someone fired, there should be someone fined,
there should be some serious consequences do that. And so
once again I'll give President Randall the benefit of the
doubt here that it's not him. It's someone below him
in the bureaucracy who's getting caught up in it, who
a doesn't know or is purposely trying to subvert the law,
because there's probably some Waco liberal who just doesn't think
guns are good.
Speaker 1 (16:12):
All right, So I will hold off on protesting outside
the President's house. Then I'll hold off for right now,
for right now. But anyway, Yeah, and I'm looking here
because it's it's interesting because I'm looking at a revision
that I just happened to find with several many, many
clicks Guideline G one double three A Firearms on campus
(16:35):
guideline effective three days ago, May seven five, And they
re reaffirm that they can't ban guns, and there's only
two places that they can ban guns on the University
of Utah, and they acknowledge it right here, a secure
hearing room or secure areas of mental health facilities and
(16:56):
that's under state law and they say that's the only place,
so they reaffirm that. So somebody is not talking to
somebody else on this. Well, what's our next, stem representative?
Speaker 3 (17:08):
Well, I think I think first is, you know what,
we'll do our job on the state level to make
sure we dig and find out what happened here, you know,
who was a fault, where's the issue to make sure
that this doesn't happen again. The second thing is if
we need to go back and look at legislation kind
of like you know once again Bill, you and Clark
were saying, is we need to probably put teeth so
that if there is the whole like oh I didn't
(17:30):
know I didn't know this was an issue, or I
didn't know the law had changed that there are consequences
to that. You know, some of these people who run
these events or put these on or schedule them, like
that's not hard to probably to understand that this is
the law or there's code. I mean, every one of
these agencies have someone who's involved with the legislature and
understanding if something hits hits a bill file and it
(17:52):
comes up with guns or stadium or events like, they
get notified very quickly that there's a law that could
potentially go into effect, and so we need to make
sure that that they can't play the whole Oh I
didn't know card anymore. And that's our job in the legislature.
And then we'll also have to do the digging to
make sure that whoever did kind of screw the pooch
(18:12):
on this, they're they're gonna help be held accountable.
Speaker 1 (18:14):
Thank you. And that's the whole accountable part, because I'll
tell you what, if I violate a gun law, let
alone any other law. But if I violate a gun law,
I'm gonna be held accountable. They're gonna they're gonna it'll
be front page probably, and there won't be any well
I didn't know or it was a mistake, No, it'll
be it'll be out there. And that's the problem at
these uh, these other entities, if you will, there's no
(18:37):
one to point the finger out. There's no one to
put the cuffs on, so to speak, or charged.
Speaker 2 (18:42):
Well, we tried when we made phone calls. You made
phone calls, and you tried to find out, Okay, who's
in charge, who's in charge?
Speaker 1 (18:48):
Yeah, fix this.
Speaker 2 (18:50):
They couldn't give you an answer.
Speaker 1 (18:51):
Yeah. So anyways, Representative Trevor Lee, thank you so much
for responding so so very quickly. You were right on
that list of the very first people we conducted on this.
So thanks for being on gun Radio Utah.
Speaker 4 (19:05):
Thank you guys, appreciate it.
Speaker 2 (19:06):
Hey, And when we come back. Last week, we were
talking about how to track your firearms and we've got
another exciting guest land with gun track. Join us in
the next segment. Stay tuned, we'll be right back.
Speaker 1 (19:19):
And you know, Bill, last week we talked about our
good friend Reid who passed away and had a lot
of firearms, firearm accessories in addition to other toys and ammunition,
and his family was left with he didn't really have
an accounting of it, so to speak, and he had
(19:40):
a lot of stuff, high end stuff, brand new stuff,
and his family was left with the task of rehoming
these things, identifying them, putting a value on them, and
rehoming them. And I know that your spouse Karen and
my spouse Casey Jane both kind of you know, stood
(20:02):
on the side and said, don't you dare do that.
He was almost doing it with a you'll die soon
exactly kind of you know, and and so you were
able to read's wife, Nan was able to knew you
(20:25):
as a friend, and you were able to help out
with that. But we both came up with the same
name as a solution in large part to this kind
of a malady, to this kind of a dilemma, and
that was Len Morales with gun Track. And we are
very happy to have Len join us again on gun Radio. Utah.
(20:48):
We've had you on a few times before, but never
more appropriate than right now. Then, thanks for coming back on.
Speaker 5 (20:57):
Well, thank you Clark and thank you Bill. I really
appreciate you guys.
Speaker 1 (21:00):
Bring me on. Yeah, no problem. So then tell us about, well,
how long has gun track? Tell us what the app
is really briefly, and then how long have you been
doing this?
Speaker 5 (21:11):
Sure? Gun Track has now existed for about five years.
Speaker 1 (21:14):
I started it.
Speaker 5 (21:15):
The first launch of the mobile app went live in
two thousand and nineteen as a beta, and it has
progressively gone into a more hybrid version that can be
accessed by your computer. And now we also have a
software version for those that don't want to put anything
up into the cloud. So we have three different versions
(21:37):
of Guntrack.
Speaker 1 (21:38):
That exist today. And you can understand, I mean, some
of us, you know, don't want that stuff in the
ethereal out in the out in the thing, even though
and we'll have you talk about it later, the safety
and security that you have on this system. But I'll
tell you when I first found out, I had been
searching for well, to be honest, I used an Excel sheet.
(22:01):
I used, you know, an Excel sheet to list everything,
and I thought, hey, I have got this down. This
is perfect intil it wasn't Intel. It has suffered from
so many problems and in loading pictures in and accessories,
and it was just a hassle. And so I had
(22:21):
certain requirements that I wanted and certain categories and that,
and I got looking and looking and I found yours
and your gun track dot app checked every single one
of the boxes and more so, anyway, tell us, tell
us in short, what it it? You can load your
(22:42):
guns into it? What else can you put into it?
And what things about the firearms and accessories can you
put in?
Speaker 5 (22:48):
Sure? Well, gun Track was actually designed to be flexible
for the user, and there's different use cases in different
ways users would you know, potentially want to use it?
We have some shooters that just want to record their
shooting data and then some that just want to record AMMO.
So gun track really encapsulates all your different parts of
your inventory and it enables you to to you know,
(23:10):
reference your firearm and then have everything that's attached to it,
which are all your accessories. A lot of people don't
understand the value when you you know, when we're talking
about selling a firearm, for instance, you have frames, you
have lights, you have holsters, you have grips, you have lasers,
you have all these different accessories that also increase the
(23:33):
value of that particular piece. So for someone who is
looking to have a trust established for all their firearms,
it's very helpful to organize all of their information in
one in one record exactly.
Speaker 1 (23:50):
You can put photos in there, full color photos, and
what you said about targets. You can literally take a
photo of your target, yes, and upload it and make
notes on it. The other thing that I found interesting
that I hadn't even thought of is gunsmithing. Is if
you put your gun into gunsmithing or you do some
gunsmithing on it, you can record that as well.
Speaker 5 (24:13):
Yes, yeah, yeah, And it's interesting that you say that
Clark because we have some uh some shooters now they're
using it to reference how that particular caliber or that
particular type of AMMO interacts with their firearm and they
can see the characteristics of that just through recording it.
Speaker 1 (24:32):
Okay, so we're gonna have obviously, we're going to have
the types of guns, the make, model, the caliber, the
serial number. Why and for the obvious reasons, why do
we put serial number in there?
Speaker 5 (24:46):
You know, there's there's a critical element that you you know,
you really need. If you're ever in a situation where
you have to file a claim, they're going to want
the serial number. In addition to you know, your your
most insurance companies will require it as a means of
reimbursing you.
Speaker 1 (25:02):
Yeah. Now, Bill Patterson, my co host right there, he's
big into all the technology and all this kind of stuff,
and he has talked to me about the safety, the
security the online type of things build. What were your
thoughts when you looked at the security of the site
and the security of the data the Tonic.
Speaker 2 (25:21):
Well, they use an as encryption protocol, which is great.
I mean, that's what our federal government uses, That's what
a lot of companies will use. The to encrypt that,
you know, secure data that you're that you're you want
to keep and protect. And so that to me is
(25:41):
very I would say comforting to know that it has that,
But to to leave something like you you may have
you mentioned this earlier on an Excel spreadsheet. I mean
that's very vulnerable. I mean even if you were to
have your account hacked, you know it might be a
(26:04):
Google account, a Google Drive account, or or a Microsoft account.
Mean those those are hackable. I mean people can get
into these. But when I've got something that's got a
little bit more encryption embedded into the application, it's gonna
it's gonna make me feel a lot better. And I'm
not gonna worry about Okay, not any Joe Blow is
(26:24):
going to be able to access this information.
Speaker 1 (26:27):
So right about now, gun Radio Utah listeners are are
wanting to know where to go to get this, to
find out more about it, tell us, tell us the
contact information for that.
Speaker 5 (26:40):
Sure, you can visit gun Track Dot app. That's just
Guntrack Dot app and there you'll find the three different
versions that are available. The mobile app is absolutely free,
so there's no commitment, nothing you have to do, no
credit card required, You can download and use it absolutely free.
If you're more interested in doing something for let's say
(27:03):
a living trust or something like that where you want
to record and have it in your physical presence, I
would recommend using the software version, which you can download
it and it downloads onto your computer and installs only.
Speaker 1 (27:15):
On your computer.
Speaker 5 (27:16):
The database is fully encapsulated on the same computer hard
drive and it's encrypted to as two fifty six bit standards.
Speaker 1 (27:24):
How technically savvy do you have to be to put
this stuff on to record your collection of.
Speaker 5 (27:30):
Stuff's good question, Clark. It's designed to be extremely easy,
and it enables you at any step of the process.
You can stop, you can start, You can add to
that particular record at any time by editing it. So
if you don't want to upload all your images at
one point, you don't have to do that. You can
enter the serial number, or you can enter you don't
(27:50):
have to inter serial numbers. So we really let you
use it the way you want to use it. If
you just want to record the name of the piece
and then you want to record some of your AMMO
forward or just you know, you can get as detailed
oriented as you really want. And that's what GUN track
enables you.
Speaker 1 (28:07):
To do and then let's say you do pass away
and then your spouse would just have the password or
something like that to get into it. Correct. Yeah, and
you can you print out reports or print out like
can you can you make a list of give me
all the revolvers I have or something like that.
Speaker 5 (28:27):
Yes, that's the current feature we just added. So there's
two different ways to print. We have an export feature
that you can actually export to an Excel file if
you prefer. And we also have a print feature that
will create a PDF document of each firearm record. And
it's really nice to be able to share or print.
Speaker 2 (28:45):
Very good. And then this is something we're talking a
little bit before we came on. But you know, for
our NFA items, you know, or I'll just say suppressors
for keeping simple and our trust, is there a way
that we can upload that documentation online that Okay, I
(29:13):
could actually share this information my logging credentials with a
trustee on my trust that then if something were to happen,
I don't have to worry about it. It's it's not
gonna be lost.
Speaker 5 (29:26):
Yes, And that's exactly what you can do with the
document upload for each firearm record. You can include those
important NFA documents for each for each record.
Speaker 2 (29:35):
You know. And I didn't really think about it that
much until this, you know, this dealing with this of
our friends. But it's it's like, holy cow. I mean,
I didn't realize that, you know, this could really I mean,
if you have suppressors or fully automatics or SBRs or whatever,
I mean, this could really make it a disastrous event.
(30:00):
Or your spouse and I'll guarantee you she'll be cussing
you all the way to hell probably so, but that's real.
Speaker 1 (30:10):
So what kind of a deal, What kind of a
deal do we have? Len? For gun Radio Utah listeners?
Speaker 5 (30:16):
For gun Radio Utah listeners, we have and we don't
do this often at all. I don't think we have
any promotions out there, but for gun Radio Utah listeners,
if you just sign up with promo code g R
you you will get twenty five percent off.
Speaker 1 (30:31):
Of the subscription. Thank you, nice, very nice. Nice grew
as in dominions grew or gun Radio Utah. Yes, yeah, radio,
thank you, Len. That's right. Go to guntrack dot app,
guntrack dot app and you've got to take You have
a great website by the way, extremely informative, very nicely done.
(30:56):
I'm so envious of your website. I mean, and it's
got pictures of you, it talks about you, and you're
obviously you're a shooter.
Speaker 5 (31:05):
Oh yeah, I love this my hobby for sure.
Speaker 1 (31:09):
So in fact, I think I am just going to
go ahead and get the newest one because Bill, you know,
my project of late has been gathering up a lot
of stuff from disparate locations. But now I can gather
it up and put it into its appropriate space, into
the because I already have the guntrack Dot app site,
(31:31):
and so now I can do even more.
Speaker 2 (31:33):
Yeah, all right, great information.
Speaker 1 (31:35):
Oh. One thing I do want to say is congratulations Lynn.
Oh I hear you are you are taking on a spouse.
Speaker 2 (31:43):
Yes, sir, thank you. That was probably my biggest accomplishment
so far. Awesome, Lynn, Thank you so much for being
on Gun Radio Utah. We greatly appreciate the things that
you contribute to the Second Amendment community and I can't
I can't thank you enough for an application that is
so simple as this to really think about the long
(32:06):
term futures for for gun owners. So thank you very much.
And we've got a lot more to cover here on
gun Radio Utah. So stay with us and we'll be
right back.
Speaker 1 (32:17):
Speaking of belt fed machine guns. Thank you Bill. Shootah
Shoota Next Saturday we are going to be you. Gun
Radio Utah is going to be broadcasting live from Shootah
at the Soldier Pass Shooting Range in Saratoga Springs. Go
to go to Utah Shooters dot com and click on
the Shoota event. It's eleven am to five pm. It
(32:40):
has everything with guns. There's gonna be a ton of
vendors there and or just gun related stuff. Lots of
Utah friendly vendors as well at Utah Friendly nut Utah friendly,
but Utah we're friendly though. Yeah, they're friendly to that.
It's family friendly. They have kids events. Kids under eight
(33:02):
are free, free ninety nine. As Casey Jane would like
to say, there's going to be machine guns, and I
mean a lot of machine guns. There's going to be
a lot of suppressors. Yeah, biggests, the biggest, yeah, and
little ones and everything in between. Yeah. Yeah. And you
can bring food if you want, or you can buy
the food from their various food vendor the food trucks
(33:24):
that will be there. You can bring your dog as
long as they're leashed and that kind of stuff. But
it is. It's at the Soldier Pass Shooting Range and
Saratoga Springs and it's next Saturday, eleven am to five pm.
Be there. We will be there broadcasting live. Make sure
to stop by Gun Radio Utah Utah Shooting Sports Council
booth and say hi, yep, so.
Speaker 2 (33:47):
Good, so good to go. I love this time. I
love this event.
Speaker 1 (33:50):
Some fantastic, fantastic, It's really good. Don't want to miss it.
All right, now we were going to talk. I just
have just have a very short period of time. At
is buying new suppressors and they're getting them AXI from
a Utah company, Hucksworks formerly Oss Hucksworsk, and I have
questions as to why. It sounds kind of like in
(34:11):
this article from Investigative Journal Project that it sounds like
they're ordering they had an RTF or something like that
to develop a new new suppressor. But I can't tell
for sure. Maybe they're just buying them off the shelf.
But regardless, the ATF says that they needed this four
point nine million dollar contract to by suppressors for health
(34:33):
and safety reasons due to the extensive training and quarterly
firearms qualifications they must complete. Isn't it the government?
Speaker 2 (34:42):
It sounds like Hering Protection Act.
Speaker 1 (34:43):
Yeah, it sounds like the Hearing Protection Act, doesn't it
that We've been fighting the government for under the Biden
administration for so long, and when we claim health and safety,
they say, oh, no, you just want to rob jewelry
stores quietly or something. I don't know what they know.
So anyway, they're on record as saying that for health
and safety due to extensive training.
Speaker 2 (35:04):
So well, bless their souls and congratulation the hot courts.
Speaker 1 (35:08):
Yeah, exactly. Hey, what do we got? How much we
got a bill? Oh? My gosh, you know what. So
I don't really have enough time to go over the
Feds insisting that Second Amendment doesn't protect machine guns. But
if you've got a courthouse news service and read the article,
you can see that. But I'll talk about that maybe
in a week or two something like that. Bigger. But
(35:30):
if you live in a city, you live it within
city limits. Check out your city ordinances and find out
does your city have any firearm laws beyond discharge of
a firearm within city limits. If they do, talk to
your mayor, talk to the city Council tell them to
get rid of those because they are not allowed under
state law unless they just cut, copy and paste all
(35:51):
the state laws. But we have the City of Cottonwood
Heights which is violating that right now with their ORNs.
What is it ten point sixty four point zero two zero,
they're in violation. Yeah, they're gonna be hearing from Utah
Shooting Sports Council very soon.
Speaker 2 (36:08):
Yeah, and I think Sandy City we found some in
Sandy City.
Speaker 1 (36:11):
But yeah, yeah, we're.
Speaker 2 (36:12):
Just doing some digging. But yeah, like Clark said, if
you find something, take a look and see what your
code says. It really doesn't need to say much. It
can just reference Utah Steak Code. Yeah, yeah, that's all
it needs to say. Yeah, a city can have.
Speaker 1 (36:25):
One gun law and that is discharge a firearm within
city limits until next week and we'll see you at Shutah.
Speaker 2 (36:30):
Yeah. Have a great weekend everyone, Happy Mother's Day. It's
all the great mother's out there.
