Speaker 2 (00:00):
And a happy Monday. Friend.
Speaker 1 (00:01):
Welcome to the thought shower. Internshown is my name. It
was indeed a weekend, a weekend of rest and also
not rest at the same time. Friday, basically it's kind
of relaxed because Thursday was out late, was out very late,
did not intend to be out late, went to the
Nats game, decided to beat traffic by going to Hide.
(00:23):
Didn't leave Hide till like, I don't know, ten thirty eleven.
So that was like a two hour sleep night. So
Friday was basically a relaxed day. Saturday, got up, went
to the gym, was lovely, but then took like three
more naps because I was tired. But then my good
friend Dante was in town. He moved to Nashville two
weeks ago. Was in town for a hockey coaching like
(00:47):
summit with the Capitals, so met him for dinner at Hyde.
Had told myself and our good friend Shane, I'm like, hey,
like I'm gonna be out, probably leaving by ten, didn't
leave till midnight. It is what it is. Sunday did
some time go off my buddies Brandon and Ryan. This
kind of relax again, so working on the relaxing a
little bit more. I'll gonna be a busy week this week.
(01:09):
Tonight going to a Northwest stadium with Eric and Hoodie.
They're doing like a tasting of the new menu at
the Commander Stadium, So I'm going to that, which is
very exciting.
Speaker 2 (01:21):
Doing TV on Wednesday.
Speaker 1 (01:23):
Then this week going to see going to Nashville see
the Family give you a lot of fun, a lot
of catching up. So be fun to you because with
my friend Dante down there now like seeing him down there,
and because i have a lot of friends in Nashville,
so I'm very excited for that. I'm also I'm gonna
be honest, not really a fall girly per se. However,
(01:44):
I did start rewatching this past week the Haunting of
Hill House, one of my favorite, like Halloween type shows.
There is something about like being called up in the couch,
having the lights off and watching something a little bit scary,
you know, something about it makes it makes you feel good,
but makes you just feel I don't know, it's nostalgic,
(02:04):
maybe that kind of vibe.
Speaker 2 (02:06):
I know. Growing up, we used to have these popcorn balls.
Speaker 1 (02:09):
I don't if they have them out here, but they're
like the size of like a baseball.
Speaker 2 (02:12):
It's like popcorn.
Speaker 1 (02:14):
I don't know how it was held together, but man,
having those and then watching something like a little spooky,
that's kind of the vibe.
Speaker 2 (02:21):
Man, it's kind of the vibe.
Speaker 1 (02:22):
I'm not again, not punkin spice, girly per se, but
not against that happening.
Speaker 2 (02:28):
Well, the fall part happening. Let me get to this
for you Monday.
Speaker 1 (02:33):
The signs somebody's in the cocoon phase before a major
glow up. So the experts say, when you're on the
verge of a major transformation, life can feel like an
endless series of endless almost their moments. This in between
stage often like a cocoon phase, when you're evolving internally
before the external catches up.
Speaker 2 (02:55):
I do think this happens a lot.
Speaker 1 (02:57):
I mean, I always like to quote the great Harvey
Dent from Man, the night is dark is just before
the dawn of day, where eventually it's like, yeah, you're
about to get to that next phase. You can tell
something that's coming. You're it's almost like your animal instincts
are up. And that's kind of where you're at starting with.
You feel restless when you're in the cocoon phase, restlessness
(03:18):
can become your constant companion. It's that it she quite
can't quite scratch a feeling. Something needs a change, but
you're not sure what. I give this a lot. Yeah,
where it's like I've been doing this too long. I
need you something bigger. You know I'm not A change
hasn't happened soon enough. And that might be a teer
Like maybe internally, you know how much work you put
(03:41):
into something, so it's like, I know I put the
work in the payoffs gotta becoming.
Speaker 2 (03:46):
I think we all kind of get that.
Speaker 1 (03:48):
You become super self aware becomes a keystone in the
cocoon phase. When you're suddenly giving a sharper understanding of
who you are. You recognize behavior as patterns, even thought
processes of the previous least subconscious. It's often accompanied by
critical evaluation of your strengths and weaknesses. Luckily, I have
no weaknesses, you know what I mean, aside from I
(04:09):
care too much or I volunteer too much.
Speaker 2 (04:13):
Other than that, you know, there it is you're craving
alone time.
Speaker 1 (04:20):
During the cocoon phase, you might find yourself valuing solitude
more than ever before. Alone time becomes your sanctuary for
reflection and self discovery. I love alone time. In fact,
saw us to call me yesterday to see what I
was doing. I was like, I'm just watching you know,
the Honey Hillhouse. She's like, why am I? Because I
just want to be Alone's like really, I'm like, yeah,
(04:42):
I don't know, but I'm always kind of like that,
Like I enjoy just being alone, you know. I think
it's because obviously like doing the show as a drain,
so having that lone time to kind of just like reflecting,
kind of uh recharge, so to speak. You are reevaluating
(05:02):
your goals, they say. As you navigate the cocoon phase,
reevaluating your goals becomes we already start questioning whether your
current path aligns their dreams and aspirations. I do think
there's a point in everybody's life where you do start
to wonder, are these dreams and aspirations mine? You know?
Speaker 2 (05:24):
Are they actually what I want to do?
Speaker 1 (05:27):
Were these dreams and aspirations from myself years ago and
I'm no longer that person. Were they put on me
by people around me, society?
Speaker 2 (05:37):
Whatever?
Speaker 1 (05:38):
Are these goals actually something I want to do?
Speaker 2 (05:41):
You know?
Speaker 1 (05:43):
Like if it doesn't work out. Am I gonna be
genuinely upset? Or is like an, ah, that's okay. I
think that's fair. I think that is. I do think
as the older you kind of go, well, maybe I
don't want to be in this field. Maybe I don't
want to have a six pack. I just want to
be healthy, you know what I mean, And like that
(06:04):
kind of like if you're already there in the process,
Like if for me, it's like do I want a
six pack?
Speaker 2 (06:10):
No, I particularly don't care.
Speaker 1 (06:12):
So it's like it's better to be like, okay, cool,
I'm like I'm healthy, I'm good, rather than I gotta
get a six pack. Well, I don't want a six pack,
if that makes sense. So it's almost like I'm closer
to that goal than I already think I am. I'm
closer to being healthy having six packs, So focus on healthy. Yeah,
you're building resilience in the cocoon phase. Resilience becomes one
(06:33):
of your strongest allies. Is you face challenges and setbacks,
you learn to balance back with renewed determination. This phase
tests your limits, prompt you've helped coping strategies and a
mindset geared towards a growth.
Speaker 2 (06:45):
I think this is fair, no doubt.
Speaker 1 (06:48):
Like it does give you a chance to like kind
of batten down the hatches, so to speak, because you're
in a cocoon, right, you are protected, so you get
a chance to kind of again, I guess reevaluate, you know,
refresh a little bit, be a little more arrested and
ready to go.
Speaker 2 (07:04):
I think that's fair.
Speaker 1 (07:05):
They say, each obstacle, oh you overcome, fortifies your resilience,
make you better equip for future challenges.
Speaker 2 (07:11):
I do think too.
Speaker 1 (07:12):
There is times when we're in the thick of it,
when you think things are stacked against you, or when
you think things aren't going away, and you kind of
realize it, Wait a second, I've been through far worse
things than this. Your boss is being a douche, coworkers
are being whatever. It's like, you've been through far worse
things before. I do think it's important to remember those things.
(07:33):
You can look back and go, Okay, yeah, we've we've
been there before.
Speaker 2 (07:37):
You know. It's like if a captain of a.
Speaker 1 (07:40):
Ship is in a storm, instead panking goes no, we've
been through storms before. Yeah, it's gonna get a little
bit shoppy, but we got this. You're listening to your intuition,
they say in the cocoon face, and might find yourself
tuning in more to your intuition. This inner voice becomes
a guiding force, offering insight and nudges that logic that
(08:01):
might overlook trust in your gut.
Speaker 2 (08:03):
In syncs can.
Speaker 1 (08:04):
Feel risky, but often lead to decisions aligned with your
true self.
Speaker 2 (08:08):
That is an interesting thing.
Speaker 1 (08:11):
Where it's like, I do think sometimes the mind tries
to outtalk the.
Speaker 2 (08:17):
Gut, but I do feel like the gut is usually correct.
Speaker 1 (08:22):
Like there's been times where I've had that where it's
in my mind's like, oh, you shouldn't do this, and
my gut goes, yeah, just do it, Just do it,
just like what's the worst that can happen? It's never
like the worst case scenario never really happens. Do you
ever realize that when it comes to making decisions, like
the worst case thing that you think of never really happens.
(08:45):
Last one I'll get to. You're more mindful of your health. Yes,
in the cocuon phase, there's a noticeable shift how you
approach your health. You become more mindful of what you eat,
how you move, the importance of rest. This isn't about
Jurassic measures rather sustainable. I try to get better about
the rest part I do. Am I good at it now?
(09:06):
Although like this week in particular, like I as a
friend who want to hang out, and I was like, hey,
like this week you isn't gonna be the best. It's
just not like with the TV stuff. And I basically
have something every single day this week up until me
going to Nashville, and it's like, yeah, I could go
to Nashville completely exhausted, but then I'm exhausted from a family,
(09:28):
and that's not really fair of them. So having that
kind of like all right, we can just go ninety
five and seven hundred, you know, it doesn't always have
to be going over the top all the time, and
like running for what and from what? I hope you
have a fantastic Monday. If it gives chance to follow
