K F I AM sixty you're listeningto Later with mo Kelly on demand on
the iHeartRadio Apps, Later with moKelly from chats Hell, then Oh Everywhere
on the I'mheart Radio as. Thenwe're also on Instagram Live at mister mo
Kelly m R M O K EL L Y. If you are on
(00:23):
the Instagram Live, you can seewe have a room full of people.
We have friends, we have family, we have fools. I don't even
know. We have so many peoplein this house right now at chatsle Moo,
I don't even know what's going on. We have KFI employees, we
have all sorts of foolishness going on. They're drunk people, they're sober people,
they're people well I can't say.We got the long arm of the
(00:43):
law in the house as well. And we have a dessert winner the fourth
annual Just Desserts competition, and we'llfind out the winner in just a moment.
Let me say hello to the peoplein the room. How the people
as we celebrate Independence Day, America'sbirthday. I'm joined by the show producer
(01:07):
and also host of Soul col Saturday, mister Taualla Sharp. How you doing
my brother, yay, yay, fantastic man. It's a beautiful thing to
be here. We have some KFIpersonalities in the house. I don't know
if they can get to the mic. We have Nick Poliochini, who's in
the house. What what's how's doinghappy for July? We have producer Kayla
who is also in the house andmanaging the Instagram live at the moment.
(01:30):
We have producer Dana who I knowshe's going to be like quiet and just
hide. Are you gonna data?I'm here? Okay? Day in the
back. It's a good time.And there's so many children you can't necessarily
see them who are here, Andit warns my heart because a part of
having food and fun and family yougotta have the kids. And we have
(01:51):
kids who got a newborn? Whatare all the ages? How old is
Kyne five? Okay? It's radioyou gotta like usual for okay five?
And Fatteus is how old? Okay? We got Fatteus and Titus and Kyrie.
We have so many kids here.We have Mason. Oh. But
(02:12):
I think that's part of it,because part of family tradition is making sure
the kids get to see how weinteract as family, how we celebrate one
another as family, and that traditionis passed on. I don't know about
U twell, but I'm encouraged byall the people who are here and enjoying
this with us. What about you? No, absolutely and this. For
a second, I was worried thatmy son was going to spend his entire
(02:34):
time here on his phone. Butnow when you see all these people getting
together and how we used to doit. We get together, we talk,
we're hanging out, we are vibing, we are sharing this family moment.
It makes them put his phone downand get into the peoples. Now,
you may hear some fireworks in thebackground. We live in an area
where there are plenty of illegal fireworks. It's not me in case, it's
not anyone here. It's just that'sthe way it is. And you will
(02:55):
hear that, And like nine o'clock, we'll try to run up to the
top. There's a park that's nottoo far from our house. We'll get
to watch all the fireworks and we'lldo it in the commercial break. Then
we'll run back down and get backon the show. But tonight we're going
to tell you about the dessert competition. We're going to do some Fourth of
July trivia, Twalsh, I'm goingto put you on the spot and see
how well you know Fourth of Julytrivia. No pressure, no pressure,
(03:19):
and we're going to talk about thedifferent dishes which were served tonight, as
far as the dessert competition, thepresentation. We had a judge. Unfortunately
FOURK reporter Neil Savagia could not joinus tonight. He had a family situation
that he had to attend to,so he could not join us. But
instead we had long time LAPD SergeantBarry Blocker, who just retired in the
(03:44):
Watch a couple months ago, thirtythree years on the forest. He was
our judge this evening and he temperedjustice with mercy. I would say he
did as best he could. Heis also a cooking school graduate and so
he sampled all the dishes and he'sgoing to tell us in the next segment
what he thought and why he madethat decision. I'm joined by family,
(04:05):
have my mother here and she's alwaystelling me what to do, and even
tonight is no different. So KyleKelly against better judgment. I'm going to
give you the mic to say something. Please don't curse. I'm not gonna
curse. I'm gonna say that youdo a very good job on the fourth
of July. It's something that everybodylooks forward to. And I'm very proud
(04:27):
of you. Oh thank you, mama. But that's what it's all about.
It's about food, family, fireworksand fun. And we have a
very very I would say when Isay diverse group, it's just we have
come from different walks of life, different places. We have people from all
around the country. What are youfrom, Like New Jersey or something like
(04:47):
that, Atlantic City, New Jersey. Okay, Atlantic City, New Jersey.
Yeah, we get some folks fromNew Mexico, just all around,
just all around. And I thinkthat's part of it, because we have
different celebrations that we observe different traditions, and to be able to bring all
of us all together, yes witha bunch of kids in the background,
(05:08):
just to be able to come togetherand just celebrate together. It's not Christmas,
but it feels like Christmas. Ithas that warmth of Christmas, it
has that warmth of This is different. It's not just getting together watching the
fireworks and having some fun. Nowgo ahead and open the door, let
him here. This is the party. In here. And also it's hot
as hell in this room. Letme tell you. Okay, I'm burning
up. But you know, look, if we were in church, I
(05:30):
would say, there's a sweet,sweet spirit in this place. There's a
warmth in here, and that's whyI'm glad to do this. And people
say, wait, man, you'regonna work on the holiday. Yes,
yes, because this is an opportunityto bring all the people that I love
together and just celebrate. So thisis going to be a celebration for the
next three hours. I'm sorry thisStefan could not join us. He's on
the ones and twoesa in the station. I'm sorry, Mark Ronner, you're
(05:51):
well thought off. He's still doingthe news tonight. But tonight it's all
about fun and we're going to havea dessert competition wrap up when we come
back, So keep it right here. We are alive everywhere on the iHeartRadio
app. We're coming to you livefrom Chateau le Mo with fifty five people
in my house. And please eatup all the food because I don't eat
(06:16):
leftovers. Y'all know that, right, Okay, So I need you to
either take a plate or you're goingto have to eat it all. You
need to drink it all, makesure you got a designated driver, get
home safe. But we're gonna havefun for the rest of the evening.
You're listening to Later with Moe Kellyon Demand from KFI AM six forty as
we continue our fourth of July IndependenceDay celebration. And if you don't know,
(06:42):
it is a tradition that we havea dessert competition as part of the
festivities. We have people who willcome in and offer their best dessert offerings
and there are no rules, withthe exception of you have to be confident,
be sure, put your put init, as they say, and
you have to present it to thecrowd. You have to sell it.
(07:03):
You have to make sure that peopleare as confident about it eating it as
you are in baking it. Andwe had a very special judge today who've
filled in at the last second forNeil Savadia, the Folk reporter, And
I want to introduce you to BarryBlocker, close friend of mine. He's
also a student of mind at Song'sKorean Hopketo in West Los Angeles, and
(07:26):
he's also most importantly recently retired thirtythree is it thirty three years Barry.
Yes, yeah, leading into thatthirty three years as a member of LAPD,
and I appreciate you, appreciate yourservice to the community, and thank
you for coming tonight. Barry. What did you think of tonight's festivities.
It's a pleasure to be here.Thank you mister Kelly for inviting me,
(07:47):
and your festivities were wonderful and Ilove to camaraderie and all the people involved.
I got to ask you this becauseyour career has always fascinated me.
What made you want to join LAPD? And do I have this right?
Didn't you get out of the academyright around the Rodney King videotape. I
graduated from the academy and I guessAugust nineteen ninety so it was a couple
(08:11):
of months before they had to ridethe kid incident. How has law enforcement
change in your estimation over these pastthirty three years. It has changed where
things are a lot more professional, there's a lot more accountability, and there's
a lot more I guess you couldsay sustainability was the officers. Before you
had officers that would leave go withother departments. For now there's really a
(08:31):
big I get push to keep theofficers and we give them more trained and
be more professional. Now you're startingyour second life after your career, and
you went to cooking school. DoI have that right? That is correct?
And then what are your preferences? Is there anything that you like to
cook? I'll cook just by anything. I love the barbecue. Actually,
(08:52):
me and one of my friends thinkingabout opening up a restaurant in Arizona.
We just haven't faded up our mindyet. But I love the barbecue.
And also I love to try tobake okay, which brings us to this
competition. And we had I thinkmaybe five entrants. They were very disparate
nature. They were real different cookiesto cakes, to pies. It's hard
(09:15):
to, I guess, judge themall the same way, but you did
that. We had a winner inpresentation and we had a winner in taste.
And that was only the direction thatyou were given. You didn't even
know who the participants were if youlooked at the Instagram live, I just
said, this is that person, and we put them in their birthday order
(09:35):
by month. And what was yourtakeaway from the competition overall? Competition overall
was pretty sough. All the dessertswere very very good, very nice presentation
with all but the winner's hers stoodout. Oh so there was one winner
for both presentation and taste, Yesthere was, Okay, young lady.
I had a seven layer cake andjust by the president and the taste,
(10:01):
she was a winter hands down.Okay. So that's the seventh layer cake
which had the American flag in itand the flag stripes as the layers as
they were red, white and bluewith the American flag inside the cake.
Yes, and that winner is MarieO'Kelly Green no relation to me. I
had nothing to do with it.Yes, and she does happen to be
(10:24):
my sister and also a recently retiredLA civil servant. Marie, you worked
for LAX Airports for how many years? I should say for the City of
LA for how many years? Iworked for the City of Los Angeles proudly
for thirty four years. My careeralso began in nineteen ninety and I was
(10:45):
very fortunate to work in a numberof different departments, finishing my managerial career
at LAX. And when you're atLAX, I often would talk on the
air about all the stories that youwould tell me that I couldn't tell on
air. How there's a lot ofstuff that happens that never sees the light
of day, and would I wouldsay, color the way they thought of
(11:05):
traveling. You can tell some ofthat stuff now right. It would probably
make your stomach turn, But noone is stuck at lax. Planes take
off, planes land safely, andmost of the time your luggage makes it
with you, most of them. That is the mission. Okay, let
(11:26):
me ask you this, is itfair to say that for every incident we
hear about someone locking themselves in abathroom or acting a fool on a plane,
they're probably ten we don't hear aboutprobably one hundred that you don't that
you don't hear about because they areeither handled before we actually have an incident,
or if there is an incident, our security is able to mitigate it
(11:50):
before it becomes a media interest.Okay, let me just ask you this
very quickly. There's been discussion aboutmarijuana. How it's legal year in California,
maybe legal in other states. Whatis the law when it comes to
if you're going to try to transportmarijuana or oils or edibles in your bag,
(12:13):
how does that shakeout when you fly? You fly under federal rules?
Marijuana is not legal from a federalstandpoint, So it is illegal to transport
marijuana. That is the that thatis the the stance of any and all
air carriers, regardless of the statein which your flight orige dates. But
(12:33):
it's up. But TSA is notnecessarily going to check for that. How
does that shake out? TSA hasa number of responsibilities. Their main responsibility
is safety, and however, theiranimals and their staff are trained to seek
out other items that are illegal, and they will, if necessary, make
(12:58):
it the decision on whether or nota passenger is transporting something that is illegal.
Okay, I use that all isa setup. So what type of
marijuana HTC did you put in yourcake today? That's a trade secret.
But but I guess the th theTHHC that was in my cake was nothing
(13:22):
but love okay, very quickly describedto us who those who did not see
it on the Instagram live your sevenlayers, Stars and Stripes cake. So
it is a vanilla cake that withthe appropriate food coloring, was constructed so
that when you cut into the cage, each slice gave you your own personal
(13:46):
American flag with the blue field andthe red and white stripes alternating for seven
layers of yumminess. Let me justask us a different way, How in
the hell did you manage to dothat? How do you do that?
Well, let me give a shoutout to everybody that at LAX who sampled
my beta cakes, and everybody atall of my husband's job who had to
(14:09):
sample my beta cakes. It tookpractice to layer those seven layers and to
get the color correct so that itactually did look like red, white and
blue old glory, and then it'sreally just practice and layer and level and
layer and level and layer. Well, let me just say thank you to
(14:33):
both you, Maria Kelly Green andyou Barry Blocker. Excuse me, Sergeant
Arry Blocker, thank you for yourcombined sixty seven sixty eight years of public
service to the city and County ofLos Angeles. I appreciate what you do.
I think it's oftentimes taken for grantedand overlooked, but I think it's
my responsibility to make sure you're bothacknowledged. We're here having some fun,
(14:56):
but at the same time, let'stalk about the facts that civil servants are
very necessary in LA and we needyou now more than ever before. Thank
you both, Thank you, Thankyou, thank you. It's Later with
Mo Kelly k if I AM sixforty. It's live from Chattel Lemo on
this fourth of July Independence Day celebration. When we come back, I'm going
to put to Wallace Sharp to thetest with some Fourth of July trivia questions
(15:20):
and it will reveal just how muchhe knows or doesn't know about the fourth
of July. No pressure, Twaller, No pressure. You're listening to Later
with Moe Kelly on demand from KFIAM six forty. It's the fourth of
July Chateau lem Show. Hopefully yourFourth of July is going well. It
is hotter than I expected, butI like it hot on July fourth.
(15:43):
It reminds me of being a kidand going out in the sun and playing
all day, being hot and sweaty. Back in the seventies. We have
to deal with this smog, butyou know, fond memories. Nonetheless,
I remember breathing in the small inyour chest, start hurting, drinking from
the water hole, drinking from thewater hose. Like now it's like,
oh my gosh, you can't havekids drinking from the water hose. There's
(16:03):
too many ballotans in it. Lordhave mercy, all right, And as
we moved through this Fourth of July, sometimes people think like, well,
where did the fourth of July traditionof fireworks come from? Or what type
of trivia tidbits are there out thereabout the fourth of July. Well,
I'm glad you asked that, orat least thought of that, because we
want to give you just that toall. I'm gonna put you on a
spot. All right, Let's doa Fourth of July quiz. How well
(16:26):
do you know Independence Day? AndI say this, knowing good and well,
I would probably fail this. Ihave not looked at this. We're
doing this on the fly, sowhatever happens happens. It's multiple choice at
least. And there're ten questions. What started the tradition of setting off fireworks?
Was it a army members fixated withpyro technics be an effort to mimic
(16:52):
gunfire during the Revolutionary War See PresidentAdams wanted bonfires in a luminations in celebration
or d there was thunder and lightningon the night of July fourth, A
army members pyrotechnics b mimicking gunfire duringthe Revolutionary War. C. President Adams
wanted bonfires and illuminations or D thunderand lightning on the fourth of July.
(17:18):
I'm going to go with thunder andlightning on fourth of July. Okay,
I would have gone effort to mimicgunfire during the Revolutionary War. But that's
incorrect. You got it wrong. But the correct answer is President Adams wanted
bonfires and illuminations in celebration. Didnot know that? All right, We're
off to a horrible start. Whichthree presidents died on the fourth of July?
(17:41):
No, I remember seeing this,so I kind of do know this.
Which three presidents died on this daysometime throughout history? Was it James
Monroe, George Washington, and ThomasJefferson. That's a B Thomas Jefferson,
George Washington, and John Adams.Or C John Adams, Thomas Jefferson and
(18:04):
James Monroe. Is gonna get realconfusing? Or D John Adams, Thomas
Jefferson and Zachary Taylor. I'm gonnago as C, C, John Adams,
Thomas Jefferson, and James Monroe.Yes, that is correct. Boom,
look at Hugh Twalla, all right, get it all right? Question
question number three, how many peoplesigned the Declaration of Independence A fifty two,
(18:33):
B fifty six, C fifty orD forty four. I know forty
four. So you're saying, isD forty four forty four? That answer
is incorrect. The correct answer isfifty six. And I don't know that.
I'm just gonna take this quiz atits word. Hey, fifty six
if you say so, right,And it's on foxnews dot com and they
(18:53):
would never lie. But look, that's not what I remember from the Hamilton,
So I don't know how sure theyare about this. Whatever, let's
go with it. Okay, whatyear was the Declaration of Independence signed?
And you would be surprised how manypeople get this wrong? Okay, And
if you get this wrong, Tuala, I'm gonna kick you out of Chateau
(19:15):
let Mo because even in the theoptions you have, they make it very
clear the Declaration of Independence was signedin A. Eighteen ninety eight, B
seventeen seventy six, seventeen seventy six, C nineteen eighteen or D two thousand
and one. You sure you wantto go with seventeen seven? I want
to go seventeen seventy six. Youpositive you don't want a phone? A
(19:37):
friend? I don't want to,and I don't know why that's the first
one. Like I was gonna sayseventeen seventy six, even before you read
the choices, that was my firstchoice off the top. Well that was
correct, all right. No,that's one of those ones that I'm like,
dude, like, I don't knowwhy that one was drilled in,
but it was drilled in. Wellyou got it right, so I can't
be mad at you. What aLloyd President Adams about the fourth of July?
(20:03):
Is it A he felt it shouldbe in August when the declaration was
officially signed. B he preferred theJuly second date when Congress voted for independence.
C he hated hot dogs. Dhe didn't like the glamour of big
parties. So A he wanted itin August. B he wanted July second,
(20:25):
C he hated hot dogs, orD he didn't like big suareis I'm
gonna say? B he wanted iton July second. Okay, yes,
that is correct. Look at youtualla, hey man, we need to
call jeopardy and say let's go slowdown twelve Okay, all right, let's
(20:49):
go to the next one. Whatis the significance of July fourth. Is
it A the day George Washington becamethe first US president, B the day
the Continental Congress adopted the Declaration ofIndependence? C the day in which the
Declaration of Independence was signed? OrD it's today Columbus sailed the Ocean Blue
(21:14):
in fourteen ninety two with an Indianpizza in the Sanemo. Yeah the hell,
let's go A. See it's theday the Declaration of Independence was signed?
And that is incorrect. The correctanswer is B the day the Continental
Congress adopted the Declaration of Independence.OK. Yeah, we do. It's
gonna be AARB. Okay, allright, all right? Next question number
(21:36):
seven, in which city was theDeclaration of Independence adopted? Was it A
Boston? Was it B Philadelphia? Was it C Arlington or D New York?
Even though I know that Hamilton andthe crew probably would have wanted it
(21:57):
in New York, I'm gonna haveto say Philadelphia. So what is that's?
That's A? Yeah, Philadelphia's be. That's a fair answer because if
you know anything about the formation ofour country, new York was in that
mix. Yes, okay, soyou're going with B Philadelphia. I'm gonna
go with BE. Even though Ithink New York is just as good an
answer. But for right off thetop of my hair right now, I'm
going to go with Philly. Itis Philadelphia, right, don't too bad
(22:18):
at this? Pretty good? Whatnational monument holds a tablet with the fourth
of July date? What monument holdsa tablet with the July fourth date?
There's a Lincoln Memorial, B.Mount Rushmore, see the Washington Monument,
or d the Statue of Liberty.Oh damn, none of those is the
(22:41):
one that I thought it was.Off the top of my head. No,
I thought it was the Liberty Bell. That's what I thought. I
thought that that held like a placardof it. But okay, so the
choices are A Lincoln Memorial, B. Mount Rushmore, see the Washington Monument,
or D the Statue of Liberty.I'm not going to go with the
Washington Monument. That is incorrect. It is D the Statue of Liberty.
(23:06):
I knew it wasn't the Lincoln Memorialbecause I've been there and I've seen everything
in there. Wow. Mount Rushmoreobviously not. Yeah, that does make
sense. I don't know why Ithought it was the Liberty Bell, because
when I traveled to Philadelphia, andwe went around kind of like some of
the landmarks and some of the youknow, monuments there. I thought that
(23:26):
there was something having to do withthat, the Liberty Bell site. But
okay, okay, let's get tothese last two real quick. In what
year did the Fourth of July becomea national holiday? Seventeen seventy six b
Eighteen seventy, seventeen seventy seven ornineteen forty five, seventeen seventy seven,
incorrect. It became a holiday officiallyin eighteen seventy eighteen seventy. I didn't
(23:47):
know that. I would just wouldhave been guessed myself. And the last
one, what did George Washington givehis soldiers for the Fourth of July in
seventeen seventy eight? A bubblegum bballoons see a double ration of rum or
d Colonial long rifles, A doubleration of rum man, I hope it's
rum, Yes it is, ofcourse, it is a double ration of
(24:10):
rum in those times, party time. This is wanted a rifle. You're
listening to later with Moe Kelly ondemand from kf I am six forty We're
alive from Chateau Lamo everywhere on theiHeartRadio app and joining me right now is
Nick Coliochini. He was one ofthe original members of the later crew.
Now he's gone on and he's spreadhis wings, he's flying. But tonight
(24:33):
he's back home with us. Nickp is. It's always good to see,
it's good to be here. AndI think that's the biggest thing.
This is family and always will befamily, and I think that's specific for
it. So I will always comeback for Fourth of July, even though
this is my ninth wedding anniversary.Yes, question, thank you, thank
you, thank you. So thishas been a great family affair to be
able to get together and celebrate.Thank you, Steff, appreciate it by
(24:56):
that. But it's been a worI mean here we are already in July
of twenty twenty four, did allthe first year later with mo Kelly and
had late this weekend with Nick Poliochannion Fridays, which expanded into a full
hour long podcast as of this year, and it has been one heck of
a journey, I will say thatmuch. Also is now a new podcast
(25:18):
as well, in Conversation with NickPoliochanne, which is a chat based interview
program. So what you and Tualaand everybody with the later crew had taught
me. In twenty twenty three,I was able to put into a brand
new program where I don't just bringyou all the details of things to enjoy
this weekend along with last Colin Freeninety nine, still for this weekend with
Nick Poliocanny, but I have inconversations so I get to sit down one
(25:41):
on one with those movers and shakerswho developed these events and these activities and
work with charities and really get intoit and be able to bring a whole
new idea to things and really givea shin of spotlight. I think it
kind of as we've talked about tonightwith the dessert contest. Instead of bringing
my own own thing that I made, I actually featured a small business shout
(26:03):
out for soul Cow Saturday with TwallaSharp on Saturdays here on CAMFI. But
it's one of those things I've hadso much more that I've been able to
expand out into. I have tolet people know we did a bit.
I think it was last night whileI was talking about people may come to
a black person's house, you comeseven or eight times, we call you
uncle so and so and so andso, because many times, especially in
(26:23):
an African American household, family isabout who frequents your house, not necessarily
blood relatives. Sure, and thereare people who are here who are not
related to me, and I wouldsay, that's my cousin, that's my
niece, that's uncle so and so, and you Nick palio'keein are family.
(26:44):
Because when I always say how areyou doing, my brother, I always
say that because you are family. You and Brian are family. And I
always want you to remember that. And I hope that you feel the same
when you walk into this house, absolutely because and I think that it's not
just walking into your home, buttuning in from seven to ten here on
KFI. And this is not blowingany smoke in any way, shape or
form, although we got fireworks, but going on outside the window. No,
(27:07):
when you tune into KFI seven toten pm Monday through Friday for later
with mo Kelly, I have beenin that seat and been a part of
the family. I've been in yourhome. But we also have this opportunity
to bring our KFI listening audience intoour home right and make them part of
our extended family. And I thinkthat's something unique and special that you know,
other shows have tried, but Ithink Later with Mokelly here on KFI
(27:29):
really has succeeded in being able tobring a different feel and a different vibe
to that whole experience. I wasvery intentional, and I said this to
Tuala. He knows it's true becauseit's been true from the beginning. I
wanted anything I did, be itthe mo Kelly Show or Later with mo
Kelly, I wanted to feel likeeveryone was welcome. Don't get me wrong.
Family fights, sure, family fightsokay, and we get on each
(27:51):
other's absolutely, but it's never tothe point of, look, I can't
deal with you anymore, but we'lltry again next week, or you know,
we'll try again at the next familygathering. And that's why I want
everyone to feel when they tune intothis live show or just any show Monday
through Friday, that oh, okay, the family's meeting the games for day
exactly, and that's perfect because Ithink that's and no kidding, especially here,
(28:15):
it's why don't you have a plate? Right? You know, it's
not even it's did you get aplate? So why don't you have a
plate yet? What are you doing? And why aren't you at the buffet?
Why aren't you pulling up to thetable. Why don't you have a
seat? So I think that's thebiggest thing. And being here and being
a part of the extended O'Kelly familyand really being able to connect with,
you know, some incredible, talented, gifted and just loving, wonderful people.
(28:37):
It's been amazing and I've been veryvery blessed and very very lucky to
be a part of that family. So thank you. Continue with the Thema
family. I know you've told thestory before, but I think you're barris
mentioning again. What does the fourthof July mean for you as far as
growing up, any traditions that you'vehad and maybe you want to pass on
to the next generation. I thinkfor me it's always been, you know,
(28:57):
we always look at things Giving isa family gathering holiday, and you
always look at Christmas and Easter andall the traditional things. For me and
especially living here in southern California,it's always been family oriented it Now,
granted, as we've talked about hereand we've talked on later Kelly, there's
a lot of chosen family to thatand they think, oh, now,
preach right, So this Fourth ofJuly holiday for me and outside of being
(29:21):
my wedding anniversary now and also thirteenyears ago meeting my husband, but it's
specific to all those people that Iget to celebrate with. And this is
one of those holidays where you getthat chosen family obligation, which is not
an obligation, it's true pleasure asopposed to Christmas and everything else. You've
got to be there. There's anexpectation. This is where you really get
to lean into it and we getto kind of pull back the curtain,
(29:44):
and especially when we can kick offour shoes and kick our feet up and
relax and get to know each otherbetter and then look forward to a year
after year. Chateau Limo going onyear four here, it's just been epic.
Look it works both ways. BecauseI said this before and I'll say
it again. I don't want certainmother fathers in my house because they ain't
fan. No, no, no, that's the truth. So you know,
and I'm always tickled because I couldn'tget in touch with you earlier this
(30:07):
week and I called to all Isaid, is everything Okay? Did I
make Nick mad? Or something?I put out? The calls like Nick
my wife wanted you to be here, and I heard her back from Nick
and did he have a bad timelast year or something? And I had
tawalla reach out to you. Andit's good to see that you made it
here. Oh no, I'm gladto be here, and I apologize for
(30:27):
that. And as we know, life gets in the way many many times.
But y'all set up the bat signaland I absolutely well, I know
that that's DC and not Marvel, but still, yeah, we embraced it
all here. But yeah, youall set up there later with mo Kelly
bat signal, and I definitely responded. But it is another incredible year of
celebration, and it is insane thatit is already popping off outside here,
(30:48):
right outside. Oh it's been poppingoff, right, And that's all the
illegal stuff. The illegal stuff isnot until nine o'clock time. We'll sneak
out watch describe the fireworks that we'regoing to get to see tonight. You
saw it last year, yeah, and it is something like you have never
experienced before, at least I neverexperienced until last year. It is genuinely
(31:10):
a beautiful area of southern California, the La Basin specifically, and you get
a three sixty degree view of everylegal and illegal firework happening in southern California
and all the professional shows. Soyou've got all those at the high altitudes,
you've got everybody in their neighborhoods thatare popping off and having the most
amazing time. It is something reallytruly special. So this is one of
(31:33):
those I want to call it likethe Southlands backyard because you get to experience
everything in and around La County specificallyand being able to see all those incredible
fireworks. But it's wild, likefrom legal to illegal and then some Well
I've said it before, I'm goingto say it again. Obviously you're welcome
to stay as long as you want. Hopefull you stayed the rest of the
eve here. But you are bothmy brother, you are my friend,
(31:55):
you are my family. Thank youso much for being a part of this
