Speaker 2 (00:19):
Are there any big fish left in the pond? That's
what I want to know. Clay's got a new home,
Paul George has a new home. Texas and Oklahoma have
a new home. We're gonna get into it all today
as we are broadcasting lively tirec dot com studios tayorrec
dot com. We'll help you get there an unmatched selection pass,
free shipping, free road as a protection, and over ten
thousand recommended installers tayrrec dot com the way tire buying
(00:42):
should be. We will check in with our buddy Chris
Plank in about twenty five minutes or so. Of course,
you hear Plank on weekends here on Fox Sports Radio.
His other job is basically covering all things Oklahoma Sooners
sideline reporting for the football program played by play Voice
for their championship National Championship winning softball team and so
(01:04):
much more. Plank's gonna join us in about twenty five minutes.
Our buddy Chris Gordy, based out of our affiliate in Houston,
Sports Talk seven ninety, who covers all things Houston and
also the SEC and his Lockdown SEC podcast. He'll give
us the Texas side of things, as he was in
Austin for the celebration that they were having and saying
goodbye to the Big twelve and hello to the SEC.
(01:24):
But erin Torres. We start in the NBA, where Klay
Thompson has said goodbye to the Golden State Warriors, hello
to the Great State of Texas, and Paul George is
now a member of the Philadelphia seventy six ers. The
two biggest names that I felt that we were looking
at in NBA free agency now have new homes as
of today.
Speaker 3 (01:44):
Well, and I think what's kind of interesting is they
both have the homes that I think we kind of
thought going in and then you hear the weird stuff,
like the Paul George Philly stuff. We've known that that's
been a rumor for weeks. We obviously saw him and
joelm at the desk during the NBA Finals working together.
But then beyond that, I mean, even Clay, the early
(02:06):
indications were that Dallas would be deemed a favorite. Then
we know that it is Lebron gonna take less money?
Could Clay come home to play for the organization that,
of course his father played for. So I think that's
what stands out is that we knew both were potentially
on the move, but they kind of end up where
we kind of thought they were gonna be.
Speaker 2 (02:25):
I thought that Clay had an opportunity to go to
the Lakers. Sure, that's where I thought that he was
going to go. And I just felt that it was
I mean, his dad played for him, he grew up
in La around the team because of his dad's work
with the radio broadcast. Like it just it seemed to
me like, oh, that's one of those fitting storylines. But
(02:45):
now three years, fifty million dollars and reports are trying
to get a sign and trade done as part of
the deal. State taxes was brought up in Woja's tweet
as a part of it. I'm just I don't know
if it's the Luca effect. I don't know if it's
the reaffect. I don't know if these people realize that
they're still in the Western Conference. But you know, for
a team that it got to the NBA Finals and
(03:07):
basically laid in an egg like the Dallas Mavericks did,
to me, I am wondering in my head, Okay, is
this as far as the Mavericks have gotten, especially when
you look at how good the Western Conference is. But
apparently for Klay Thompson, it was good enough for him
to try to join them and try to carry them
to the place that they would like to be. And
I think for him, it's almost reminds me a little
(03:29):
bit of Shack going to the Miami Heat and trying
to win that title that he did in two thousand
and six, to be like, all right, I did it
in LA I did it without Kobe, even though Dwayne
Wade was now my partner here, to kind of maybe
give it back to Steph, to kind of give it
back to the Warriors organization of I'm going to try
to win a title, why not go to the team
that just made it to the NBA Finals.
Speaker 3 (03:50):
And that's gonna be my question for you. What do
you think this says about the state of both organizations?
We know, the MAVs are coming off of finals run,
but they were the four seed. Minnesota's not going anywhere,
Denver's not going anywhere. Okay, see adds Hartenstein the other night.
So I bring it up because I think it. Listen,
the Mavericks are obviously a factor. They made the NBA Finals,
(04:11):
they beat Minnesota in the process.
Speaker 4 (04:13):
But I also do.
Speaker 3 (04:13):
Wonder, like, what does it say about the Lakers because
this has been, I mean, honestly, if we're being honest,
kind of been a summer else for the Lakers, right,
you know, get turned down in some form or fashion
by Dan Hurley. You know, we have the last two
weeks where Lebron gets the coach that he clearly wants
that doesn't really have any credentials other than being Lebron's
(04:35):
friend and his son drafted. And then you get like
a twelve hour window where it's like, well, Lebron may
take less money, you know, and whether that was a
pr move, whether it's realistic. You start to feel like, Okay,
maybe there will be more here for this organization. But
now Clay's off the board, Paul George's off the board.
There really aren't those difference makers, and so essentially for
(04:57):
the Lakers. And I don't want to turn this into
just it's a Laker segment, but I think it does
kind of say, like you know again, it just speaks
to this organization. It's got all these banners, all these championships,
all this prestige. I just don't think it's in a
very good place right now. If for all the reasons
that Klay Thompson could have become a Laker, he chooses
(05:19):
the Mapters.
Speaker 2 (05:19):
I think the worst part about it is probably transpired
over these last couple of days, because I do think
that they whatever the narrative was with Dan Hurley Reddick
was a guy that they had targeted for whatever reason
it was whether he was optioned B or Plan B.
He was a name that we had talked about a bunch.
It's the fact that Lebron would be willing to take
(05:41):
a pay cut, which tip of the cap. He's done
it before. But all the names that you thought that
they were going to get Alan Chunis, Klay Thompson one
of them have now decided to go elsewhere. So I
agree with you, and to the point of that would
be an l of where the of on the Lakers' fronts.
But Dallas lost Derek Jones, who's going to the Clippers.
(06:03):
They're going to have holes to fill. I think it's yeah,
it's bad for bad for the Lakers that they haven't
gotten the pieces that they wanted. But I think, aside
from all the Browning James conversation, at least after day
one of the draft, a lot of people thought that
their selection of Dalton connect was one of the better
ones that you had in the NBA. So I would say, well,
it's not a complete losing effort. These last three or
(06:24):
four days free agency wise have not gone well. I
don't think it's been as catastrophic as it may appear
at the surface. Again, they challenge Denver in those five games.
I don't think that their top level. I still think,
you know, Minnesota's going to be there, Dallas is going
to be there, Oklahoma City with Hartenstein signing, as you mentioned,
(06:44):
another piece. It's just a darn gauntlet. And now the
Spurs are getting better. I think the Rockets are trying
to get better. Yeah, it's just it's just really really
difficult in the West. But I don't think it's as
catastrophic as it is for the Lakers. As you may seem.
Speaker 3 (06:59):
Yeah, no, I I just think I just think it
speaks to kind of what we said after Dan Hurley
turned down the job is that it's got all this
glitz and glamour. But to use a cliche, you know,
you look under the hood, there's maybe some more problems.
I just think that again, because I think the alternative
is true as well, is that if Clay had signed
(07:19):
with the Lakers, and you have Lebron, you have ad
you have Clay, you have Dalton Connect, who admittedly was
a good draft pick, you have Austin Reeves, you have
all of a sudden, you start saying, well, wait a second,
nowt JJ Reddick said.
Speaker 4 (07:32):
He wants to space the floor more.
Speaker 3 (07:34):
He wants to get more high low, you know, high
percentage three point looks now you start to see the
core of a team that can do that. And I'm
not saying Clay single handedly ruins that, but now essentially
we're talking about a situation where it's probably basically the
exact same team that they had last year, plus Daallton Connect.
As much I love Daalon Connect, you know, he doesn't
(07:55):
change the floor or ceiling of the team. So I
just think It's interesting because I do think that probably again,
I think to your point, they're not in that first tier,
and so, yeah, they're still the biggest, one of the
two or three biggest brands in the sport, one of
the two or three biggest TV draws, with one of
the two or three greatest players of all time. But
they're just not what we would think the Lakers with
(08:17):
Lebron would be, which is a serious title contender.
Speaker 2 (08:20):
Yeah, and I think that if you were to line
up the losers in the Clay Thompson sweepstakes, the Lakers
would be the winner of that. Yes, Dallas wins the
not that the Nuggets would be, even though the Nuggets
were a part of the conversation, Golden State Inham didn't
seem to be on the same page. I think that
the Lakers would be the first loser in that Klay
Thompson sweepstake. So I can see it, and there is
the point of hey, I'd rather go play with Luca
(08:41):
than maybe Lebron despite all of the connections. So I
could completely get what you're saying with that one. What
I also find is funny, because I do want to
touch on Paul George is Paul George and now goes
to the Philadelphia seventy six Ers, where we thought that
his three suitors at some point where the Clippers were
the mad and then were the seventy six Ers. Magic
(09:03):
reportedly had kind of fell off as of late, and
then we had talks last night that the Clippers and
Paul George just agreed to go separate ways. And there
he goes to Philadelphia. And I first of all, the
one good thing I will say about Paul George going
to the Sixers is good job of getting out of
the West. Now you're in the Eastern Conference. I don't
understand why players who want to change the narrative maybe
(09:25):
don't look at the Eastern Conference more than they look
at the Western Conference. But now he's out of the
West and doesn't have to worry about that. But Paul
George seems to have this disease aaron of wanting to
be Robin and not Batman. And now he goes to
a place who's truly for his great as Tyre Smaxy
is and for as good as Paul George can be.
(09:46):
At times, their entire fortunes rest on the legs of
Joel embiid.
Speaker 3 (09:51):
Let me jump in on that though, because I don't
have a problem with at thirty four years old, Paul George,
even if he's not publicly acknowledging it essentially acknowledging I
am not Batman and we've known that.
Speaker 4 (10:05):
I mean, listen, there's a reason we call.
Speaker 3 (10:07):
Him playoff p you know whatever, Like we know that
he is not that dude, not that difference maker. And
so I think you look at the situation with the Clippers,
it's obviously a little bit chaotic, Kawhi, Is he healthy?
Speaker 4 (10:18):
Is he not healthy?
Speaker 3 (10:19):
All that good stuff, And it's just like, I don't
have a problem with a guy with this decision basically
acknowledging you know what, I'm not that guy. I can't
do it by myself. And I'm gonna go to this
place now to the point that I know you were
about to make and I probably cut you off, and
I apologize for that. Can you actually rely on joelmb
to be the number one? Not because he doesn't have
(10:40):
the capability, but because he's never healthy when it matters,
And by the way, it is worth noting that in
the biggest playoff moments, he himself hasn't been great either,
So it's kind of interesting as well.
Speaker 2 (10:49):
I'll bring up Jalen Brunson as as an example here
and of a guy who you show what happens if
you're willing to take on the heat and not the
Miami heat, the heat of the situation that you're in.
He goes to New York. I think that that situation
has turned out ten times better than they could have
(11:10):
ever have dreamed, no doubt. And now here he is
appearing on wwees the New York And like Jalen Brunson
is a guy, and here's Paul George to look throughout
his career, want it out of Indiana, wanted out of
the Pacers, went to Oklahoma City where they had Russell Westbrook,
then gets dealt to the Clippers, and it's teamed up
(11:32):
with Kawhi Leonard and you have shields there and I
know they were trades, but that he had a shield
protecting him. And now he goes to a place in
Philadelphia where honestly, I think he's got to be Option
three because of the emergence of Tyreese Maxey, who the
Sixers have just given tons of money too. But again,
the Sixers aren't going to win there Paul George, I
(11:53):
don't think is the difference maker because it all, it
all just resides on the legs and the health of
Joel Embiid. If Embiid is healthy and good enough of
the playoffs, then they have a shot with the addition
of Paul George. But if he's not, they're done. And
it's just the same. It's a worse situation than maybe
it is with the Clippers, aside from being in the
(12:15):
Eastern Conference. And that's the point of I get what
you're saying and saying like, hey, I recognize it, but
what it feels like is it feels like it's this
I don't know if it's a game of tag where
he's just like you know, or trying to like hide
in the shadows but still like getting all of his
And I just don't think that that is something that
(12:35):
we look upon where we see Jalen Brunson almost running
to the fire and Paul George kind of running away
with it while still getting his And I think that
just it's just to me as a bad optic and
an optic when we are looking at superstars trying to
reach that ultimate level. I don't feel that Paul George's
ultimate level really has ever necessarily been there because of
(12:59):
the shields that he's had around him, and now he's
got two of them in Philadelphia.
Speaker 4 (13:03):
Yeah, I mean, what I would say is a couple
of things.
Speaker 3 (13:04):
Is one I do think in Paul George's defense, is
that he's at a different point in his career than
Jalen Brunson was when he signed with the Knicks. I mean,
Jalen Brunson was just entering his prime. Paul George clearly
if he's if he's if he's still in his prime,
it's it's the final, final, final stages. And two, you know, listen,
I'm not making excuses, but I think that injury screwed
(13:25):
him up pretty bad. I mean, you know, you snap
your leg in half playing for Team USA. He was
coming off back to back NBA excuse me, Eastern Conference
Finals appearances. I just don't think he's been the same
guy ever since. And so yeah, I mean I think
he's And by the way, to be clear, I'm with you.
When Mbat is healthy, he's the clear number three. That's okay.
(13:45):
But I think Joel Embid's window kind of lines up
with his window of the next probably two to three years.
You know, I think it's good for Philadelphia because I
think you have to kind of bake into the equation
that Joel Embiid isn't gonna be playing even seventy games year,
let alone eighty two.
Speaker 4 (14:02):
And so I do. I like the fit.
Speaker 3 (14:04):
I like the move even if it is an acknowledgment
by Paul George, a guy who's signing for however many,
you know, tens of millions of dollars a year that
I'm really not that guy. And frankly, maybe never was there.
Speaker 2 (14:14):
He probably, I mean in the comments that he made,
and I another that there were memes and tiktoks going on
about all the things that Paul George had said at
previous stops. Have always wanted to be there and always
wanted to play at these places. There sure seems to
be Sure seems to have been a spot where the
Clippers did want him back, even though they didn't give
him the contract extension throughout the season because contract talks
(14:36):
were still going. I'm not saying Paul George should take
less to stay with the Clippers, because I don't know
exactly what the Clippers were offering him. However, it's just
it's so convenient for him to get the amount of
money that he's gotten without getting this sort of responsibility
(14:56):
that comes with those contracts. And I think that's the
part that you look around and that that just it
just doesn't it doesn't necessarily match up.
Speaker 4 (15:06):
Yeah, I mean, I.
Speaker 3 (15:06):
Think, you know, at this point in the evolution of
the NBA, I'm just kind of over like how much
a guy's actually getting paid. I mean, you know, let's
let's just take a quick look here. You know, Scottie
Barnes for you know, by the way, Tyree s Max
is gonna be making forty million year Scottie Barnes five years,
two hundred and seventy million dollars Scotty Barnes. I'm not
(15:27):
great at math, but that's fifty plus million dollars a year, right, So,
like the money to me doesn't really matter that this
is the going rate for guys these days. And yes,
he's trying to get every last dollar on his last
big contract. Could have stayed with the Clippers, blew the
situation up in okay, see listen. I think unfortunately, he
(15:47):
like a Kevin Durant, maybe like a Kyrie Irving. I
think they're a byproduct of this era where you know
you're gonna bounce around so much that I don't think
you're gonna be remember really remembered fondly maybe anyway. But
those are the career decisions that have been made. And
again I think it's an acknowledgement. Hey, I'm getting every
(16:07):
last dollar that I possibly can while still putting myself
in position to win. But yes, I do think that
he he did strategically choose this place because it gives
him a chance to win. But he's not gonna be
the guy yeah that you know the Doug Gottlieb Show
or Colin Cowherd or whomever is talking about it if
the seventy six ers don't advance farm.
Speaker 2 (16:27):
Well, at one point in his career, I think he
was thought of maybe being that guy, maybe being the
centerpiece to where other players would filter around, but he
didn't want that. In Indiana, ended up you know, being
dealtas again to Oklahoma City and then traded by the
Thunder to the Clippers, where some people feel it's the
worst trade of all time. The worst part about it
isn't all the picks. The worst part about it is
(16:49):
Shake Gildes Alexander. So there's a lot with that.
Speaker 3 (16:52):
The real worst part about it is, I've told you
before on air, happened right in the middle of my
wedding and everybody freaked out.
Speaker 4 (16:58):
It was like eleven thirty at night.
Speaker 3 (16:59):
We're having a great time and we knew Kawhi was
going to sign somewhere, and it was like Paul George
got traded to the Clippers, like because it was so
off the radar, and my wife's mad because we still
have pictures from our reception where everybody's looking at a
phone trying to figure out how the heck did Paul
George get traded?
Speaker 2 (17:14):
Lak So that was really the worst part. But you know,
just just for me, He's Aaron Torres, I'm Dan byer A.
Nowhere to go but up.
Speaker 5 (17:21):
This is the best of the Done dot Leaf Show
on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (17:29):
A Happy Monday to you, July first, Love and Hates
coming up and so much more. As we are broadcasting
live from the tierrack dot com studios tierraq dot com.
We'll help you get there an unmatched selection, fast, free shipping,
free road azer protection. You know, over ten thousand recommended installers.
Tierrac dot com The way tire buying should be thanks
to our buddy Chris Plank, who joined us to talk
(17:50):
about Oklahoma's move to the SEC, which became official today.
In twenty five minutes we go to the Loan and
Star State and get the Texas side of things. Our
buddy Chris Gordy from Sports Talk seven to ninety and
Houston will join us. It's a way in. Texas had
a big old party yesterday in Austin getting ready for
their move from the Big twelve to the SEC.
Speaker 4 (18:10):
Hit Bull was there, man crushing it.
Speaker 2 (18:13):
Doing it right. Do you get the sense when Missouri
and Texas A and M because moved to the SEC,
it was Missouri who had the early success, no doubt.
And in football, I almost wonder. I just wonder if
that pressure on Texas and all eyes being on Texas,
and we asked Plank about it, and we'll ask Chris
(18:35):
about it on the Texas side of things, I wonder,
I wonder if that will play into things to make
things maybe a little bit easier for Oklahoma to maybe
break in well.
Speaker 3 (18:44):
And I think the thing with Texas is because they
had so much success last year. I just think I
don't think either program is ready for like the week
to week grind of what it is, because you even
just look at Texas last year, it's like they they
make the College Football Playoff, they win the conference. But
first of all, you never root for injuries. But quinn
(19:04):
Ewers has been hurt two years in a row. And
then some of their games, it's like a touchdown win
at Houston, overtime win against Kansas State, three point win
at TCU. It's like, yeah, except now that three point win.
You know that trip to TCU were half the stadium
was your fans. Anyway, Now that's at Auburn in front
(19:25):
of eighty five thousand people, and so it's like, I
just think the step up, I think the week to
week grind. I know it's a cliche talking point, but
I think it's just gonna be so much tougher and
I think that's gonna be the biggest adjustment. And I think,
like to your point, we're kind of just dismissing Oklahoma
of they're sort of in this rebuild, third year head coach.
(19:45):
But Texas, I mean, they're coming in ready to win,
and it's like, I.
Speaker 2 (19:48):
Don't really know, you know, the part about the grind
of the week of What it is is I'm a
big ten guy, and you know, I've cheered for Ohio
State for as I can remember. There are lulls in
the schedule. You ramp up to Penn State, you ramp
up to Michigan. There is there's truly something about that that,
(20:10):
you know what, Yeah, Maryland's on the schedule doesn't have
that same weight Michigan State. You know, for for the
most part, uh, you know, some great D'Antonio years, But
outside of that, you're like, okay, all right there on
this Indiana the same thing. There are ramp ups to
those games, and you're wondering, Okay, are are they're going
(20:31):
to be ready enough to play Penn State? Are they
going to be ready enough to play Michigan? Where in
the SEC? Not every week is Alabama and Georgia. But
I just don't think there's that that dip that you
kind of alluded to. So there's a it's heightened. It's
every single week.
Speaker 4 (20:48):
Yeah, really quick.
Speaker 3 (20:48):
Just as an example with Oklahoma, So Oklahoma's first SEC game,
they host Tennessee huge game, Josh Hypel coming home. Then
they play then they play at Auburn, then they play
Texas at the Red River shootout, and it's like that
middle game, first SEC game, you know their coach played
at your school. And then a week from now you
(21:09):
have Texas on a neutral field. That's your biggest rivalry game,
and it's like, oh, by the way, right in between again,
you gotta go to Auburn play in front of eighty
five thousand people.
Speaker 2 (21:16):
They're loving things right now in Austin and Norman. We're
gonna love some things and hate some things in a
segment that we do every Monday at this time. It's called.
Speaker 4 (21:26):
What did you love? God? I love you? And what
did you hate? These player hays.
Speaker 2 (21:33):
Yes, Jason Stewart, this is your brainchild. Monty Belanios is here,
Iowa Sam hanging out as well. We get to look
back at the weekend that was and what you loved
and what you hated. Jason will start with you, what
did you love about this weekend? Oh good?
Speaker 6 (21:48):
I get to steal Iowa Sam's thunder here a little bit,
but no, I won't.
Speaker 4 (21:52):
I won't.
Speaker 6 (21:52):
I will say there was one aspect of the Fevers
win over whatever team plays for Mercury. For the Phoenix
Phoenix Mercury yesterday they sent out a social media post
right after their eighty eight to eighty two win over
the Mercury, and the social media post just read reality
check hashtag fever win and it was really kind of
(22:15):
an f you to Diana Tarassi as member her comments
back in I think May or April saying that it
was going to be a reality check once Kitlin Clark
got to the WNBA. So good for the fever. Good
for Kitlin Clark for going into Phoenix and beating whatever
the name of the team is there.
Speaker 4 (22:33):
I hit the spicy WNBA Twitter in.
Speaker 2 (22:36):
A bit of irony. The Mercury on the thermometer would
also mean you have a fever, right, so like they're
kind of.
Speaker 6 (22:44):
By the way. I've been to Vegas twice in the
last three weeks. The largest thermometer in the world in
Barstow or is it Baker? I think it's Biker. It's
always wrong. It's about four degrees off, the largest thermometer
in the world.
Speaker 2 (22:57):
I like, how you caught yourself. You're like, is it Barstow?
I think it's Baker. Yes, I do believe it's Baker.
Another person who visited Vegas recently, Mancy Belanos, What did
you love from this weekend.
Speaker 7 (23:10):
Well, I'm going to keep going kind of with what
Jason was saying, Sorry, Iowa, Sam. I really like the
way Diana to Rossi, Britney Griner kind of embraced Caitlin
at the start of the game. I thought it was
very necessary, and I even mentioned it in the updates
on Sunday. I was like, I'm gonna update you that
they had a moment before the game, and then even
(23:32):
throughout the game there was like other videos of Diana
Tarossi and Kaitlyn Clark laughing, and it just was like,
it's about damn time. That's how I felt, and it
was such a good feeling. I feel like I hadn't
had a good feeling like that in a while. Watching
that little moment, I was like, Yes, this is what
it should be. M However you want to see it
that she's finally like you know, accepted it, or she
(23:56):
has proven herself. However you want to look at it.
But it was a really nice moment between Caitlin Clark
and Anna Rossi and even Britney Griner.
Speaker 2 (24:06):
Aaron Torres, what did you love from this weekend?
Speaker 4 (24:08):
Well, I'll just go with uh.
Speaker 2 (24:10):
Another Vegas recently yeah, I.
Speaker 4 (24:12):
Was in Vegas too. I thought you were actually going
to me when you said that. I know, Oh, I
was there too.
Speaker 3 (24:17):
All right, I'll steal what we just talked about Texas
and Oklahoma to the SEC. Chris playing costing the Oklahoma thing,
Pitbull performing at Texas, Mister three five, Paul Finebaum saying
that arch Manning is going to be the starter. By it,
it just realized we are getting close to football. Like
right now, it just feels like there's not much going on.
(24:39):
We all beat the Brownie thing to death, We're gonna
beat the clay thing to death.
Speaker 4 (24:43):
What are we talking?
Speaker 3 (24:44):
We are really close to football. It's coming two weeks
from today. SEC media day starts from their training camps
will be open. We're getting close. So that made me
very happy. It made me a little tingly inside.
Speaker 2 (24:55):
I know somebody else's excited about college football. I don't
know if it's what he loved this past weekend, but
I was, Sam, what does you love?
Speaker 8 (25:02):
Didn't think there'd be so much fever content so early
on in this segment.
Speaker 2 (25:07):
I'll go with a general it's actually were you gonna say,
Caitlin Clark? And then because Jason and Monzi did it.
You're like, I've got to move off of this.
Speaker 8 (25:14):
No, I feel like I at the beginning of this segment,
I thought that my my love was going to be
so picked away by vultures there'd be nothing left. But
Moncey had her own thing about women's basketball. Jason had
his own thing about the Fever. I'll just say, in general,
this is the Fevers. What I love is this is
the Fever's best winning percentage right now they've had in
at least four years, and they're winning a whole forty
(25:37):
percent of their games. Woo okay, so that's boring. Let's
let's let me finish. Let me finish. Listen, this team
is has won eight out of out of twenty games.
They're on part to win more games than last year,
and this was probably their best win so far of
the season over a team that now has a five
hundred record but had a slight winning record before the
(26:00):
in Phoenix.
Speaker 4 (26:01):
So I can't play the snore sound effect. I can't
play it.
Speaker 8 (26:03):
For Hey, I kept quiet when you were talking about
some tweet, all right, so, and I would disagree with
that too. Kaitlyn Clark's still taking plenty of lumps. She
had six turnovers on Sunday, So the reality check is that, yes,
they got a nice win. Both her and Diana Tarassi
shot twenty percent from three, So listen, she's not made
it completely yet. In the WNBA, she's certainly getting there,
(26:25):
and her team's playing a lot better around her. She's
got they got scoring options every time they go on.
Speaker 2 (26:29):
Now I'm sleeping. This is no, I'm kidding. You know
what I loved.
Speaker 4 (26:38):
You know what I loved.
Speaker 2 (26:40):
There was a restaurant in our neighborhood that we had
wanted to try for a while, and we finally did
and it came through. It absolutely lived up to the expectations.
Do you know what a big deal that is? To
add it to your yeah places rotation? You're like, yeah,
You're like, oh, we gotta try this place, got try
this place. Finally we cashed in on it on Saturday,
(27:04):
ordered some takeout, brought it home. Not only did I
really enjoy it, my wife is like, this is amazing.
And the place had a bit of a vibe and
out by us, and there's very little suburbia in southern California,
but I would say where Jason and I live, it
does feel like suburbia that it did have a little
(27:24):
bit of vibe. There was a little bit of action
happening with the place, and I think that's huge.
Speaker 4 (27:30):
Now.
Speaker 2 (27:30):
I don't know if we'll go there again on Wednesday,
which sometimes you tend to do, like, oh, let's go
there immediately. But to now add this spot that is
in close proximity to where we live, huge, huge win.
Speaker 6 (27:41):
And there's there a reason you're not naming what it
is or what kind of food it is, or.
Speaker 2 (27:44):
It's a barbecue spot. Copper Hill Barbecue is the name. Yes, yes,
because it's right off of Copper Hill. I don't know
if it's drive or street or whatever.
Speaker 6 (27:55):
Like Peter Gabriel, off the Copper Hill.
Speaker 2 (27:58):
People were eating outside, people are inside, there's people waiting
for takeout. There's good, you know, good action with it.
So you're like, all right, people are here, there and everywhere,
a couple of people waiting. That was a good sign.
And then the food absolutely came through in the clutch
and I was really happy with it.
Speaker 3 (28:14):
You know, as good as that feeling is. I would argue,
you know how coaches say, like you remember the losses,
you don't remember the wins. The feeling of building up
a place in your head and it being disappointing is
actually just the worst emotion you can have, you know,
because you're like, oh, yeah, no, we're gonna add I
can see us adding that to the road. Nope, food
sucks came out cold, they were rude, never coming back,
(28:37):
and then you drive by that place and you're angry,
and it's like, so I'm happy that you had a
positive experience.
Speaker 2 (28:41):
There is a pizza company that is national that we
had no idea where one was locally, and we found one.
We're like, let's you know. So we had waited weeks
and we ordered it and it was completely average, and
it was such a letdown because you had built it
up for weeks that you were waiting for this place
and we actually found one, and why then it wasn't
as good as we would have hoped. All right, there's
(29:03):
our love for the week. Now things take a turn
for the worst. Iowa, Sam, your first stop here? What
does you hate from this past weekend?
Speaker 4 (29:15):
What I hate is not.
Speaker 8 (29:19):
It's not tim Waya's uh action Like I hated that.
Speaker 4 (29:23):
Of course that led.
Speaker 2 (29:23):
To you way out of line, way out of line.
Speaker 8 (29:25):
Good one I had a way a joke ready to go,
but you kind of kind of put a thin in
that one.
Speaker 4 (29:32):
Uh, I don't understand.
Speaker 8 (29:33):
So he's gonna be he's gonna miss the game today
against Uruguay. And in case people are catching up here,
Tim Way as a player for the US men's national
team and he had an extended arm smacked to a
player against Panama and got a red card and he
got a one game suspension. But now he's got two games.
(29:54):
He's he will be out for two games, which I
don't really understand. Does anybody know why he got two
games not just one?
Speaker 6 (29:59):
Uh?
Speaker 4 (30:00):
Anybody?
Speaker 2 (30:00):
I hate that. I don't know the explanation.
Speaker 8 (30:03):
Well off end It's okay because I just hate that
he's out for two games. They are going to be
very uh they're gonna be very much shorthanded for this
game against Uraguay and then if they make it past here.
So I don't know why he's getting a two game
suspension for the red card. Because I saw another player
on another team throw an al about elbow at a dude.
Speaker 4 (30:25):
Nothing happened. I've got a silver lining for you.
Speaker 2 (30:27):
Yeah. In two minutes, Big Michael walk down the hall
and then tell you during the break, Oh great, or
tell you during this segment because it has to do
with soccer and red card and so you'll have an
answer by the end of this segment on why it happened.
So there's a little silver line why two games over one.
But yes, I hate that he's out for two. I
hate that he's out for this game. It's going to
be a struggle for the US. Aaron Torres, what did
(30:49):
you hate from this weekend?
Speaker 3 (30:50):
I feel like I'm gonna steal from somebody else. I
just hated the Brownie James discourse. And I'll just be quick,
but everybody had this take, and it's a right take,
by the way, is like whatever, every we know what
the takes were. But then it also just sucks because
the kid had nothing to do with it. He just
wants to play basketball. His father's in a position to
(31:12):
get him something, and his father got him it, and
we none of us think he's going to be a
legitimate NBA player. I actually think it's going to be
more weird than like exciting when they actually take the
court together, because we know he's not really capable of
playing the you know, the spot. But I just felt
bad for the kid because every because it was the
biggest story for a two three day period, everybody had
(31:34):
to talk about it. There was no positivity around it,
and I just found it weird and sad.
Speaker 2 (31:39):
Basically, I think we've moved past now with the Clay
signing and there Paul George signing in free agency taking
over Monty Belanos. What did you hate from this weekend?
Speaker 7 (31:49):
Yeah, the Dodgers are really annoying you guys. They're just
really annoying In this weekend they lost the three game
series to the Giants Incian Francisco. And what's annoying really
about this? It's not that they lost the series to
the rivals that are the San Francisco Giants.
Speaker 4 (32:05):
It's just that they had just been playing really well.
Speaker 7 (32:07):
But all of us were like, but are they playing
well or are they just playing well because it's the
White Sox, you know, Like we had been playing well
against not the best teams and then I know we've
got injuries, but like to not be able to deliver
against a team that is not that great, but yet
there are rivals, it's just really annoying.
Speaker 4 (32:25):
So I hated that.
Speaker 2 (32:27):
Jason Stewart along the same lines or Now I'm going
to go so on on that, but I will say
they're the most frustrating fan to.
Speaker 4 (32:33):
Be a fan of, really, like really the most.
Speaker 6 (32:35):
Frustrating dominant team in sports to be a fan of.
Speaker 2 (32:38):
That.
Speaker 6 (32:38):
Sure, No, No, I'm going to stick with the same
sport though, And I need a little bit of You
need to give a little bit of context here. Dan
Byer introduced me to a survivor pool for baseball two
seasons ago, maybe last season, and I'm completely obsessed. You
basically pick one team per week. They have to win
fifty percent of their games. And I've been watching like
(33:00):
the most random games you'll catch me watching, like a
Raise Mariners game on a Wednesday night to see if
my team will advance. And this weekend, the Red Sox.
All they had to do was win two of three
at home against the Padres, and they absolutely urinated all
over themselves. So I'm sorry about that, Sam. I've tried
to figure out they wet the bed. They completely ruined themselves.
(33:22):
The Red Sox. Nick Paveta gave up four runs in
an inning to ruin Friday night, and then Tan or
Hawk I think his name is Hawk give up a
career worst eight runs on Saturday to the Padres. My
pocketbook took a beating this weekend, so one of my
teams was eliminated, and I have a feeling Dan Byro
was a part of that. So my team is eliminated.
(33:45):
And screw the Red Sox.
Speaker 2 (33:47):
Were you meaning as a part of it as someone
else who took the Red Sox?
Speaker 4 (33:50):
Yes?
Speaker 2 (33:50):
Yes, And I am not completely out of the pool.
So I hate that I am completely out and now
there's nothing for me to do in the month of
July until except plan for my fantasy football team. I'll
tell you what else I hated, all right, and Jason's
gonna get out of my case. I hated that I
(34:11):
messed up on my Sunday show the actual date that
the Big Ten and the Big Twelve welcome the new teams.
I thought it was all July one, and then all
of a sudden, no August one for those two leagues.
Speaker 3 (34:25):
I hate that you're giving yourself such a hard time
about it, because it makes no sense that that's what
I hate. I take back what I said about Briannie.
I hate that you hate yourself. Oh Monzi, remember we
did the question in Colorado? Yeah, yeah, so that would
have tied in.
Speaker 2 (34:39):
But yeah, well, I guess we'll celebrate the oregons of
the USC and UCLA is a month from now. But
thought July one fiscal year. To your point, everything was great,
and uh.
Speaker 6 (34:49):
Dan never makes he never makes mistakes. He makes like
one mistake every forty five days. So when he does,
it's really funny to me because he could be just like.
Speaker 2 (34:58):
The Bill Russell last three. Uh yeah, an idiot.
Speaker 4 (35:01):
I don't want to say Bill Russell.
Speaker 2 (35:03):
I didn't realize that the retired. I forgot that they
retired six. I knew that it happened, forgot about it,
made a line about Brody wearing six, and then, uh,
somebody reminded me on Twitter that they retired Bill Russell's
number six, and I completely forgot about that.
Speaker 3 (35:18):
Somebody on Twitter thought they were smarter than you, stunning
would have never guessed. All right, plot twist, What do
you got Sam? Are we all done with Ale?
Speaker 2 (35:27):
Yeah? It was no big mic sighting.
Speaker 8 (35:29):
Do we know why way he did just come in
and he didn't know either why Tim Waya.
Speaker 7 (35:33):
Got it like they just added it after. I think
they thought it was egregious.
Speaker 4 (35:39):
That's ridiculous.
Speaker 7 (35:40):
I just looked into it, and no, there's no specific I
think it's just they felt it was too egregious and
then they added another another suspension for somebody else during
that game too, So don't worry Panama's cocoa.
Speaker 8 (35:55):
I just think that he was also given another suggestion
way too much punishment there.
Speaker 2 (36:00):
There it is.
Speaker 4 (36:02):
Kelly wa Okay.
Speaker 5 (36:05):

Speaker 2 (36:16):
They're feeling good and Norman, Oklahoma, We're gonna go there
and just a matter of seconds he is here and Torres,
I'm Dan Byer in for Doug Gottlieb. Today Doug was
in for Colin Cowherd and The Herd on Fox Sports Radio.
You can always check out the podcast of Doug Show
or ours at Fox Sports Radio dot Com. It's July
one of twenty twenty four, and Oklahoma is now in
(36:37):
the SEC. They in Texas make the move from the
Big twelve joining us. Now our good buddy who you
hear Sunday nights alongside Arnie Spanier and from time to
time weekdays here at Fox Sports Radio, he covers Oklahoma
Sports like no other. Chris Plank joins us here on
Fox Sports Radio. Plank, what a day it is, July one,
(36:58):
twenty twenty four. Oaklana is now in the SEC. Did
you have a different feeling when you woke up this
morning as now you have all all there?
Speaker 9 (37:07):
Yeah, just mean more when you woke up today. It's
like that question everyone asks on your birthday. It's like
you feel older. I don't think so, but then you know,
everything is different, right, And it was wild. I hosted
the They did a breakfast this morning at Toby Keith's
Bar and Grill, which is in Bricktown and downtown Oklahoma City.
Speaker 4 (37:25):
And I didn't really know what to expect.
Speaker 5 (37:26):
Dan.
Speaker 4 (37:27):
I mean, it's eight am on a Monday.
Speaker 9 (37:30):
It's a holiday week, right, and a lot of my
friends actually kind of took this week off, and then
we found out, oh, there's.
Speaker 4 (37:37):
Going to be a party.
Speaker 5 (37:38):
Right.
Speaker 9 (37:39):
You're looking around to all the other conference announcements in
the past, there's never like an absolute swore a around it.
It's just hey, welcome to conference. Everyone puts out their
social media post and you're you're good to go. This
was unlike anything I expected I thought at this breakfast
that we did today, I thought there might be twenty
thirty people. It was packed, had people standing outside waiting
(38:01):
to get in. Last night they did a fun run
a five cam, like, ah, it'll be good. They get
a couple hundred people. The field was packed with people
just to celebrate a fireworks show and a countdown to midnight.
Take what's going on at Texas where they had mister
Worldwide Bull was doing a concert yesterday. So it's it's
wild because in some ways I feel like it's taken
forever to get here. It's like four years ago when
(38:24):
this announcement was made and now that you're here. In
a lot of ways like man, this got here pretty quick,
and it is a year earlier than it.
Speaker 4 (38:30):
Was supposed to be.
Speaker 9 (38:31):
But yeah, it's a little bit more of a party
than even I expected.
Speaker 6 (38:34):
Dan.
Speaker 3 (38:34):
You know, let me just ask you a question I
think everybody wants to know, is listen. You know, it's
all fun in games until you got you know, Tennessee
and Alburt and LSU three straight weeks or whatever. I know,
we're entering a twelve team playoff era where things are
gonna be different, where you don't have to be twelve
and zero or eleven and one to compete for a
(38:54):
national championship. But at some point every team is gonna
have that year where things break wrong and you don't
live up to expectations. Do you think Oklahoma fans and
you could talk about your neighbors down in Austin too,
like like DoD are we understanding of just how different
this is going to be on a week to week
(39:15):
basis once you take the field.
Speaker 9 (39:16):
Absolutely, And I think it was from the moment that
this was announced. You know, Oklahoma's gone through little turmoil
since the announcement of moving to the SEC. Lincoln Riley
up and left and took the USC job, and there
was a lot of speculation about, oh, well, you know,
the bottom line is he didn't want to coach in
the SEC, and nobody and he doesn't think Oklahoma well,
(39:37):
actually I shouldn't Sands want to coach. He doesn't think
Oklahoma's ready, They're not going to spend to be in
the SEC. Blah blah blah, and jostick Leone whenever they
had their press conference announcing that hey, Lincoln's left, jokestick
Leone set up and said, we knew we had to
step things up.
Speaker 2 (39:52):
We know.
Speaker 9 (39:52):
That's why you know, you just don't wake up one
day and suddenly say we're spending fifty million dollars. Right,
there's a process to get to it. And Lincoln left.
It set the program back for a year. Brin Vinables
came in and if you were to tell me on
that Monday whenever we came in after Lincoln left, after
bedlum and oh you didn't play in the conference championship game,
(40:14):
if you would tell me too. Three years after that,
when Britn Vinibles was entering his third season and OU
was entering the SEC that the strength of this team
would be defense, I mean I'd be blown away. So
everyone understands, even in Texas is on a nice upward tick.
So I think people are underappreciating just how much they
lost its skill positions and in the interior of the
defensive line. But oh yeah, man, absolute and you can
(40:36):
see it in the personnel, you can see it in
the facilities. There's been a big time commitment to upgrading
every single aspect because I mean, at maybe what outside
of men's hoops, which again that's not to say the
series and all that great.
Speaker 4 (40:48):
In men's hoops.
Speaker 9 (40:50):
Every single program has to take a significant step up
and at least its competition. Now there's a few programs
like oh you softball and women's gym that everyone is
chasing in the country. But in that saying vain, you're
getting a stiffer set of competitors week in and week out.
Speaker 2 (41:04):
Chris Playing joining us here on Fox Sports Radio talking
about the move for Oklahoma to the SEC. He's here
and Torres. I'm Dan Byer in for Doug Gottlieb. I
say this with all due respect, is there any is
there any benefit that everybody kind of wants Texas to
fail in all of this? There that there is. I
(41:25):
don't want to say that, oh you was protected by
any means, but it does seem like the expectations of
put your money where your mouth is is a deal
that Texas is going to have to deal with that
maybe we're not putting on Oklahoma. Is there any benefit
to that or or am I off in my assessment?
Speaker 1 (41:41):
No?
Speaker 4 (41:41):
No, no.
Speaker 9 (41:41):
I think it's interesting because in this whole process, and
like I said, in some instances, it seems like we've
been waiting forever to get here. Even if you go
back to the frustrations with the lack of a proactive
nature from the Big Twelve, and then other times you
feel like you've flown right through it. Right, everyone's kind
of had a different experience eating up to waiting for today.
(42:02):
What I've noticed is there is a significant amount of, Oh, yeah,
Texas is coming in there to win. They just came
off a playoff and they've got Quinn Eewers back, and
you know, we'll see if maybe this upward tick for
Texas can be stunted by being in the SEC. And
for Oklahoma it's kind of it's been forgotten, I'll tell you,
(42:22):
And I'm a homer, So just if you kind of
go ahead and accept that, maybe you can pick this
apart if you want. But there's been so many people
involved with the SEC that when they come here, when
they come to Norman and they see the facilities and
they walk around the campus, it's one of those where
you're not, oh, they've got a lot of work to do.
You walk around like, damn, this is an SEC school.
(42:43):
I mean, there's no other school in the Big Twelve
that gets eighty thousand plus per game outside of Texas.
So they've been in that posey Oklahoma has, but they've
won more championships in Texas has. In the Big Twelve,
they've won a national championship. I think Texas won the
Vince Young on Oklahoma one one in two thousand, but
Oklahoma's played for more titles in that stretch than Texas has.
Speaker 4 (43:04):
But you know that's not some sort of brag.
Speaker 9 (43:06):
There's dust on every single one of those tats right
now because it's been a minute. The difference is everyone
comes in expecting Texas to be so sec ready and
this is something that's going to be an epic challenge
for them. Well, it's kind of just forgotten about what
Oklahoma is. I mean, every single thing you read it
talks about Texas and it's very minimal in the amount
of conversations for Oklahoma. And honestly, I think Oklahoma's fine
with that. So plank a big picture. You know, the
(43:28):
program is going to be fine. They've had, you know,
decades of success, but it is your one. Obviously, just
by the nature of the league, this schedule is going
to be much tougher and oh, by the way, first
year starter quarterback. I could be mistaken, but I believe
five new offensive linemen.
Speaker 4 (43:45):
Uh You're not mistaken, dude, So what what for you?
Speaker 3 (43:49):
Because you know somebody Again, everything's fun in games until
somebody loses a game, and I'm not implying it will
be Oklahoma, but like, what are realistic expectations knowing that
you have the right coach and you're headed in the
right direction.
Speaker 9 (44:02):
Yeah, and you're right. There is a lot of new
on the sou offensive line. There's a lot of new
in the interior the Oklaoma defensive line too, which might
even end up being a strength.
Speaker 4 (44:12):
But you know, I know we're up against this, so
I'll try to keep it succinct.
Speaker 9 (44:15):
I think the confidence is, you know, everyone has a
plan until they get punched in the face, right the
great Mike Tyson line, and they're going to lose some
games they've got. I think Florida has the number one
strength of schedule I think heading into the season. Which
strength of schedule heading into the season is kind of
dumb because everyone's a different team. But Oklahoma's right up
there in the top five, Like they were given no
(44:37):
gifts by the SEC schedule makers outside of getting Alabama
at home. You're going to LSU late in the season,
You're going to Auburn early. You got Tennessee who might
be a top ten team coming in here for your
first game. So it's a daunting slate, and don't forget
about Old Miss. But I've said this a lot, Aaron,
I think Oklahoma's with Jackson Arnold at quarterback. I know
(44:58):
Dylan Gabriel is going to Oregon and he's got chance
to do great things. I think there's a really good
chance and Oklahoma could be a better team and have
a worse record just because of the talent. I think
a lot of people look at this and say, I'd
love to see an eight win season. If they get
a nine win season, look out. But in any of
these instances, what is that.
Speaker 4 (45:13):
Going to look like?
Speaker 9 (45:14):
For like thirteen, fourteen, eleven, You know, what's that conversation
going to look like? Whenever you're trying to decide who's
a playoff capable squad. So I've set in my expectations
and I want to be in that conversation even though
it's year one, even though it's a first year quarterback. Aaron,
I'd love to be coming on with with you on
Saturday night or or Dan during the week and fighting
for Oklamba because they deserve to be in even though
(45:35):
they lost three or four games, and I don't know
if we'll quite go that deep in the lost column,
but I feel like the expectations are all right, let's
dip our tone of this pool. We got a really
good defense, and let's see if we can't create some
havoc outside of that. I think everyone's just nervously along
for the ride to see how it works out. It's
going to be a fun, fascinating year.
Speaker 2 (45:54):
I almost feel obligated to ask this because of the
show that we're filling in for. Is there any remorse
now that it's done Oklahoma State?
Speaker 9 (46:03):
I want Oklahoma and Oklahoma State to play forever. I mean,
I think it's one of the better rivalries that Oklahoma has,
and because it's so one sided in football, I think
people kind of look down their nose. I wish there
was a way that Oklahoma State was involved in this. Unfortunately,
the Sooners and the Longhorns were the choice. I think
there's probably from Oklahoma State side. I'm sure Doug would
(46:25):
tell you there's disappointment in the way that it went down.
No one expected this story to get leaked by the
Houston Chronicle like it did, and bitter Texas A and
M trying to I don't know, start some sort of revolt,
but sure, I think there's disappointment that they're not playing
Oklahoma State, but they will in every single sport but football.
I mean, they're playing in every single sport but football.
I hate that they're not in the same conference. But
in that same kind of line of thinking, really excited
(46:46):
about what's next for Oklahoma Plank.
Speaker 3 (46:48):
You mentioned we don't have very much time left, but
the last one for me is just you mentioned this,
And I know it's probably not a question you can
answer in a minute or ninety seconds, but like, how
do you think that like college football fans in general
fully understand just how different this sport is gonna look
this year with the balance of power almost exclusively in
(47:09):
the SEC and the Big Ten. We're now arguing over
team eleven, twelve, thirteen as opposed to team four and five,
Like it is gonna be such a fundamentally different sport,
and I don't know that the average fan totally understands
that well.
Speaker 9 (47:22):
And I try to talk about this every Sunday night,
but all my co host does is yell about Arizona
or the Miami Dolphins, But no, I don't think.
Speaker 4 (47:29):
I don't think anyone really does. And you mentioned it.
Speaker 9 (47:31):
We're not debating four or five anymore, and you're right,
but we are in a roundabout way because then that's in.
Speaker 4 (47:37):
Maybe it would be like five, eight and nine. We're
gonna be fighting.
Speaker 9 (47:40):
About who's four and five because that's first round, by
who's eight and nine, because that's the difference between a
home game and a road game in the playoffs twelve
and thirteen, who's in and out? I don't know if
I've ever been more eager to just watch how this
all plays out and when those conversations start at right,
when do those pick up from? Is it gonna be
by the middle of the sea, are like, oh, this
(48:00):
is a team that might not win their conference, but
look out come playoff time. What's gonna be the gauge?
What are we gonna look at? Is it gonna still
be somewhat computer generated? Is it gonna be more debate,
Is it gonna be more non conference schedule? Is it
gonna be more all these unknowns? And I don't think
anyone really truly understands just how different of world we're
(48:21):
going into and I'm just talking about the playoffs, Aaron,
that's not even all the new matchups you're getting, right,
Oregon and their battles against what Ohio State, Oklahoma playing
Alabama and it's a conference game. Hell as sim you
playing Florida State and it's a conference game. I think
it's going to take a little bit of getting used to.
And I really hope it continues to elevate the college
football conversation where it's constant and not, oh, we're tired
(48:44):
of talking NFL.
Speaker 4 (48:45):
Here's a little college talk.
Speaker 9 (48:46):
I hope it continues to be something that grows in
our national portfolio conversation.
Speaker 2 (48:52):
You know, I can't say I'm a Maryland guy or
a Nebraska guy by any means, but I am a
Seahawks fan. And when they left the AFC to go
to the the NFC West, it took me two years
to not cheer against Planks, Raiders and the Bracos and
then and then there was no rivalry that they had,
so the games are kind of weird. It was like, Okay,
the ram now we gotta hate the Rams. Now you
(49:13):
gotta hate the Cardinals. I think it'll go quicker with Oklahoma,
but you will check a case state score and be like.
Speaker 4 (49:19):
Oh, yeah, they didn't realize. Wait, that doesn't matter to me,
and we got them next week. Oh wait, no, we don't. Okay,
that's good. They just stayed a team by seventy. But
we don't have to worry about them, right, say Arizona
weird out of Oh that's not an out.
Speaker 2 (49:30):
Of county win the same comfort. Oh, Plank, thanks so
much of the time. You know, it's busy. We appreciate it.
Good to talk to him. Man, Yeah, guys, it's gonna
