hottle applause.

Speaker 2 (00:43):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (00:46):
Not sure how many of you are aware, but uh
my Green Bay Phoenix lost yesterday midday. We played Michigan Tech,
a talented Division two team. We're in a Vision one
team and we had a thirteen point lead in the
second half. Have my point guard press and ruergerd dove
for a loose ball or playing without the nation's leading scorer,
Anthony Roy, and we succumbed to a really good Michigan

(01:10):
Tech team. And you know the way look, the way
it works is when you watch the film, and we
watched the entire film. I realized there's a couple of
things I definitely should have done differently and better to
put my team in a better position for success, and
they need to improve as well. But when we got done,

(01:32):
you know, I do a postgame press conference, and the
game was at eleven. It was education Day. So education
day means that you know, kids are in school. It's well,
it's finals week for college students, elementary school students in
Green Bay and Ashwabanon which is part of Green Bay. Essentially,

(01:54):
I got a chance to come to the game. We
had about five thousand people in change, fifty five hundred
people in change, and you know, after the game, because
it was early because it's during school hours, my players,
I thought, did a great job of interacting with the
kids despite the fact that we were just crestfallen that
we lost another game once again, suffering a defeat in

(02:16):
the second half. So I get all the way home
and I live, like, I don't know, fifteen minutes from
the arena, and we're sitting in the locker room and
it's just it's hard. You put so much into it
and we've gone through so much, including you know, going
all the way out to California, coming all the way back,

(02:39):
and when we come back, you know, we find out
that our best player, Anthony Roy is out for a
substantial amount of time with the lower leg injury. You know,
it just SAPs any of the energy out of you. See,
you got to get it going positive, and there were
some good things that came from that game, but all
in all, you still lost. So buddy of mine calls

(03:04):
me and is like, why did you call Michigan Tech
Nobody You It's like, what are you talking about? Well,
there's some video of you saying nobody you. I don't
know what you're talking about. What are you talking about?

(03:25):
So my athletic director called me and said, yeah, did
you did you say to Nobody you? I said, I
don't even know what you're talking about. So when I
got back to the locker room, you know, again, I
got a phone call and they're like, well, nobody was
like what are you talking about? So, uh, there's I
think it's a fake account. I truly do. I think

(03:48):
it's a fake account. On a burner account on social
media where some guy whose name is Mike Ashley released
a portion of a pre post game and again for
full context, here's the reality. I'm the head coach of
green Bay. Two years ago, green Bay was the worst

(04:09):
team individual on basketball. They fired the coach midseason. Last year,
a man named Sundance Wicks came in, took over the job,
did an incredible job, went from three wins to eighteen wins,
eighteen wins and then he leaves. I get the job
on May fifteenth, where it's very difficult. It's difficult, of course,

(04:31):
I'm going to take the job. My dream to have
a program and have one like this where so many
people so badly wanted to be good. When you make
your schedule, some games you inherit. Some games you plan
and what we didn't plan for was you know, I

(04:52):
was asked. Last Saturday, for example, we played at UC
Santa Barbara. The Gauchos are really really good, very good
and well coached, and you know there are people that
thought preseason they could be a top twenty five team.
This Saturday we played Drake who's undefeated and just beat
Kansas State in Kansas City. They're very, very good We've

(05:14):
played Oklahoma State in the road. We've played Ohio State
in the road, we played Evansville on the road, we
played West Illinois on the road. Like we've played and
we haven't played like games where you're like, you know,
there are teams Division two, Division three where literally you
can show up and it's like a rec league team.

(05:36):
And my thing has always been, like, hey, to go
to a game in Green Bay, Wisconsin. I got to
give you a reason to go, like the opponent is good,
and Michigan Tech is a good one and they have
a lot of local kids. So I was speaking in
a place and I think this was a week ago

(05:59):
Wednesday against Milwaukee. I actually thought it was the Cleveland
State game, which was, you know, a week and a
half ago, and I was discussing how difficult our schedule
had been and how everyone we played was a good
at for our level, was either better than us or
capable of beating us. Take a listen, Yeah, I mean,

(06:20):
this is why you got a schedule like everybody else does.
A couple of D two's early. You know, I know
the league and Julie was here today and she's wonderful,
but the league's like you know, you got these tiers
on who to schedule like nobody, And part of the
reason I want to play better teams is like as
two degrees outside knowing like I, you know, I don't

(06:43):
really like the idea of nobody you coming in here
and like what do I always thought, like what do
we learn playing a game where we win by twenty?
But there's a methodology to it, and I'm going to
have to adjust moving forward with the schedule. And I
know that you're sit there and you go like, well,
Evansville is just okay, and Cambridge to the Caves like yes,

(07:06):
but every game on our schedule is a game that
we can lose, and nobody else does that, now you
know why? Yeah, So I'm not I'm not whining about it.
I've done it to myself. Like one of the things

(07:27):
that I think separates me from other people is mistakes
I've made in life, mistakes i've made professionally, I own.
I've always owned them, even to my team today. You know,
to my team today they did things which out of
character are not asked to do. That we should have
we should we feel like we should have won the game.

(07:47):
But I did something. There was two instances, I could
have called the time out late in the game, drawn
up a play and given us a clear look. We
got pretty good looks anyway. But that's not the point.
The point is to do my job. I have to
be willing to admit, hey, I could have done it
better here, but I I don't. Last night was a

(08:12):
crazy night. You have people, obviously, there's some Michigan tech,
and there's always going to be haters out there. There's
going to be people. I have two amazing jobs. I
live an incredible life, more so than more this year.
These are greater opportunities than I reasonably deserve. I am

(08:32):
grateful to them on a day for them, on a
daily basis. I don't take that for granted. But I
don't really understand the kicking us while we're down in
year one. But I also like, whoever this, If it's
really a guy named Mike Ansley, you feel free to

(08:55):
call the show using a quote out of context, and
then reputable news organizations picked it up and ran with it.
I was last night. I was watching our tape talking
to coaches on the phone, and a buddy mine calls

(09:15):
AND's like, hey, why is ESPN. Have you guys have
lost eight in a row. Whatever on the bottom line,
I was like, what are you talking about? I don't know,
I'm not watching. Here's the Dan Patrick Show earlier today.

Speaker 3 (09:31):
Yes, I was watching the ESPN scroll during Sports Center
after the Bowl game last night, and on the scroll
which includes like North Carolina beat whoever, big college basketball games,
Men's college basketball, Gottlieb Green Bay lose to Division two
Michigan Tech, a straight loss for Gottlib's Green Bay team.
That was on the ESPN scroll of news last night.

Speaker 4 (09:50):
How many coaches' names are attached to their team.

Speaker 3 (09:54):
On the scroll zero generally.

Speaker 4 (09:57):
I mean that's definitely a shot to you know, for Schefty,
that's a jab from ESPN. For Doug, that's not right journalistically,
that's not right, got I mean it's it's a good shot, yes, Todd.
Unless it's some type of milestone win there, there should
be no reason to possibly put the coach's name next

(10:18):
to the result.

Speaker 1 (10:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (10:19):
I don't like if Tom Izzo wins is one thousandth game. Okay,
Doug lost to Michigan Tech, like Gottlieb and Wisconsin Green
Bay lou Like, that's not fair to Doug. That made
the bottom line, Come on, mothership, shifty Schefty can take
care of himself. He doesn't need you.

Speaker 1 (10:44):
It's I tell you where it doesn't feel good. I
worked at the ESPN for nine years in Bristol. My
first year I was I just did games and I
lived in Oklahoma City. When I left ESPN, I had
a five year guaranteed contract on the table. And I've

(11:07):
told people for a long time, probably mistake. Was really
happy living in Canton, Connecticut. Big house, great schools, good people,
knew everybody. I'm still very close with so many of
my ESPN brethren. Many of them aren't there anymore. The
first part that they went with for a long time

(11:29):
that I said, I called Michigan tech. Uh, nobody you
is embarrassing because having worked there, if you didn't follow
the codes of basic journalism, then you wouldn't work there anymore.
And then what is the point. So here's the thing, ESPN.

(11:49):
You're allowed to track every loss and put it on
my name. That's fine. I'd like you to do the
same thing for every win, right like, we'll keep the receipts.
So I don't know what it is. I don't uh,
if it's ESPN protecting Adam Schefter. Adam Schefter doesn't need protection.

(12:15):
He makes well into seven figures, okay. And by the way,
there's been no accountability. It's not like anybody's gone like, hey,
by the way, we know, we think your tone was off,
but so was Adam's. And oh yeah, his tweet was
actually wrong, but nobody's any said that. But piling on

(12:38):
when you just lose a basketball game, I didn't see
anything like it, have you, Sam, Have you ever seen
anything like this before? Ever?

Speaker 4 (12:48):
No?

Speaker 5 (12:49):
I haven't, I haven't.

Speaker 1 (12:50):
I just I'm like, I'm like blown away by why people.
I love that people care. Just make sure you care
when we win, and eventually we'll win. Just has doesn't
happen overnight, you know, And you know, I can go
into all the coaching things like, hey, we have the
nation's leading scorer. He's not playing. So when you get

(13:14):
that news the day before a game in the middle
of the finals week, when you just traveled back from
Santa Barbara, a game that you were leading when he
got hurt, and then you're still playing pretty well and
your leader gets hurt. Who's guarding the other team's best player,
one of the best, maybe the best Division two player
in the country, and you have an inexperienced coach by

(13:35):
all estimations, I've coached a lot of games, a lot
of college games. You make mistakes, you lose a game.
But this was not a one year plan, nor did
anybody have any huff and pravado and talk any trash
about any opponents. If you go back and look at
every game we've played, I've made it a special point

(13:59):
to get incredible praise to everybody we've played and the
teams that we have beaten. I've admitted we beat Siue
Brian Bronis their coach. They were tired, We weren't that good.
They ran out of gas. Hey, we played West gialinoily.
They had just gotten back from a West coach trip.
They were dead in the water. I've made sure to

(14:21):
not make it about me, to make it about our team,
to try and do the right things in building a program.
And it's not easy. And I haven't made the excuses
of having the youngest roster in the league, or losing
my best player or any of the other issues that
we run into. We just got to be better. But
I find it really sad. I find it really sad

(14:45):
that I get to be the punching back. Now. The
good part to it is takes all the pressure off
from all my players. Right, nobody's mentioned them by name
or word, and that's fine, and when they when we win,
they should get all the praise. But what a weird day,
What a weird thing? Something I said taken completely out

(15:11):
of context and used and weaponized against me as if
I'm some trash talking first time Division one head coach
that calls some it calls an opponent a capable opponent.
Nobody you like, Am I an idiot? Maybe I'm an idiot,
but not in this particular case. So here's the point

(15:36):
we can put on digital. Here's the point that you
can remember. Okay, it's not just that what I said
is being weaponized and used in the opposite of how
it was actually said and used in my statement. It's
that reputable people have chosen to use the out of

(15:58):
contact statement. And it shows why social media, and we've
seen this in other parts of social media. When you
show half a video, you're like, yeah, what happened when
the video wasn't being shown? What happened at the rest
of the press conference? What happened at the rest of
the arrest. Those are the things that when you're really

(16:20):
trying to find the truth you dig into finding instead
you edit something. It goes viral and despite the fact,
there'll be no retractions, no apologies, you know, none of that.
Instead they'll just say, oh, I had it coming to me,
why cause I host a sports radio show because I

(16:44):
didn't think Steph Curry would be a great pro Okay, Like,
how is that where we are? So here's the honest truth.
I don't care. I'm actually built to withstand a lot worse.

(17:05):
Nobody died yesterday. That's exactly what I told one of
my players that got hurt. Hey, nobody died. I've been
in a lot worse shape for and you know what
I've done. I've dug myself out of it every single time.
And we'll do that here. So I just I'm sad

(17:28):
for the state of the state. If you will that
somehow that's become cool. I actually understand politicians a little
bit more when you're like, well that that's not at
all how that was said, Like what are we doing?
And then it goes viral and then your friends are like, dude,
why'd you say it? Like I didn't say that, and
then the whole video comes out and people are like, well,

(17:49):
the whole video is shared, yeah, but it doesn't go viral.
It's not nearly the same. Nobody cares. They just want
They just want something salacious. So we're not going anywhere.
The show's not distracted me. I just need to be
better at all of both of my jobs and it's

(18:10):
a challenge and I need more and more help from
the people that we have hired to help us. And
if you are not on board, that's fine. You don't
have to be. It's okay. I'm not for everybody, but
just remember the people that make the comments. Okay, I'll

(18:32):
keep the receipts. We'll win. Thanks for listening to The

(18:55):
a Doug Gottlieb Show. It's Fox Sports Radio. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Did
you guys hear this story? Did you guys hear this
story that Woody Johnson passed on trading for Jerry Judy

(19:21):
because of Jerry Judy's Madden ratings, and the crazy part
about it, well, that's that's pretty crazy. The crazy part
about it is that it reminds me of the story
of Jimmy Haslam and the Cleveland Browns when they drafted

(19:42):
Johnny Manzel. Right. If people remember the Browns that year,
I think Sashi Brown was their gentleal manager. And the
Browns that year they employed an entire team of analytics
experts to help fi them their next quarterback, and they

(20:05):
had circled in on who they wanted to get and
what they wanted to do whatever, and all reports were
the guy was Teddy Bridgewater. And Teddy Bridgewater, who by
the way, now is at a high school coach in
in Miami, where he's from. Teddy Bridgewater, solid steady, obviously,
his body's not terribly sturdy. His knee blew up when

(20:27):
he was in Minnesota, but just a beloved guy who
does all the right things on and out the football field.
And their analytics team said drafted Teddy Bridgewater. And who
knows if the story is true that a homeless person
grabbed Jimmy has them walking in the facility day of

(20:47):
draft day and it's like, you need to draft Johnny
Manzil But they clearly drafted Johnny Manziel to sell tickets.
It is, in fact a business. And the story I
just told you was told to me, and it was
told to me with the following sentence that everyone uses
in sports, which is this owner's own. You know we've

(21:12):
used this for baseball, right, Well, that's baseball. When there's
things you can't explain despite the fact that all the stats,
all the details tell you something else is going to happen,
we always say, well, that's baseball, that's baseball. In this
particular case, that's baseball. Okay, in this particular case, when

(21:32):
an owner does something that defies logic or even defies
the group think of the group, you know, everybody comes
to a decision where like this is who we're going with,
They're like, eh, I'll sleep on it. You know what,
I'm going to do my own thing, and I want
to draft Johnny Manziel. At the end of the day,

(21:55):
he can because owners own, right. So yeah, ever want
to know what owner's own means. It's Woody Johnson, Hey, listen, Woody,
we got this great trade. We're gonna get Jerry Judy.
We need a talented wide receiver to go with Aaron Rodgers.
Jerry Judy is a guy that hasn't lived up to
his billing when he's with the Denver Broncos. You know,

(22:16):
draft all Alabama, and he's like, Eh, I'm gonna pass.
I just I look at his matting ratings. And and
what's weird about it is we've always clowned matting ratings
that players get so bent out of shape about Madden Rings.
Now this like brings validity to them. I want to
know why Woody Johnson can pass on training for Jerry

(22:39):
Judy because of Madden Rings. Owner's own Thanks for listening

(23:00):
on Fox Sports Radio. And let's get you ready for
the College football Playoff. Kelly Ford joints US K four
ratings dot Com is the is the website. Of course,
what he does on a on a weekly basis is
provide us with not just insight and analysis, but he
forecasts final scores and the difference between the two teams.

(23:24):
Let's get ready for the collegeball playoff games. Let's start
on Friday, All right, start tomorrow. Indiana takes on Notre
Dame in Notre Dame Stadium, supposed to be cool, cold,
and snowy. Give me your.

Speaker 2 (23:39):
Thoughts, Yeah, Doug, thanks for having me. As always, this
is a hugely important game in the state of Indiana
where I live. I'm not sure Notre Dame fans are
prepared to live in a world in which they lose
a college football playoff game at home to I you,
so there's storylines abound here. I do think Notre Dame

(24:00):
as the home team. They are the favorites, They should
be the favorite. They are the better team, Doug. For
the first time since nineteen eighty nine, I have Notre
Dame power rated number one in my model, and a
lot of people, including myself, kind of look at that
and say, wow, that's eye opening, because this Notre Dame
team is certainly not without its laws. However, that's every

(24:20):
team in college football this year. So when you really
break it down, I've got Notre Dame top five on
both sides of the ball. Indiana, they're really really good
on offense, and they're pretty good on defense. They're defense
number thirteen. That's the worst unit in this game. For me,
I like Notre Dame in this one. I've got them
with a seventy six percent win expectancy. I think if
Notre Dame treats this like a normal game, don't get

(24:42):
caught up in the hype, don't get caught up in
the storyline, don't get caught up in the IU hoorah.
I think Notre Dame, if they play their games, will
be the better team and will come out on top.
If Indiana is able to jump out, you know, a
ten or fourteen point lead, I could see Notre Dame
getting really really tight and at that point not sure
they're going to be able to fight back. But this
should be a great game for the state of Indiana,

(25:03):
for college football in general, and I'm really excited about it.
But Notre Dame is a favorite. I've got him with
a seventy six percent winn ex sectancy.

Speaker 1 (25:09):
It does. It does feel though like Indiana absolutely has
the defense, do they have the offense? And Notre Dame
kind of similar right feels like a real defensive, defensive
mining game.

Speaker 2 (25:24):
Yeah, definitely, And I think that, you know, Riley Leonard
at quarterback for Notre Dame, that's a big question, right,
like can he play at a championship level, because that's
what it's going to take to win this college ball playoff.
And I'm not sold really on any of the college
quarterbacks that we have this year in the game of
college football, but he certainly had this question marks to
this point. He just had to play well enough to

(25:45):
allow this defense in this run game to get the
win for them at some point, whether it's against Indiana
or if they win this one, you know, maybe against Georgia.
He's going to have to make the big plays. And
is he going to be able to do that? That's
a big question that I have and I know a
lot of people have. But yet, the defenses are going
to be good. Which quarterback here, whether it's whether it's
Leonard or work is going to be able to make
the big plays down the stretch in the fourth quarter.

(26:05):
In what I think is going to be snow, so
that's going to add to the intrigue here as well.
I do like Notre Dame's run game, and that might
be a factor if the weather conditions get too adverse.

Speaker 1 (26:14):
All right, let's get to the other three games. S
samu you taking on Penn State. Penn State at home
again more snow. Eight and a half point favorite fifty
three and a half is the total.

Speaker 2 (26:23):
The winner of this game has to love their pass
because the winner here gets Boise State in the next round.
Boise State is the worst power rated team in the
field for me by my numbers, so the winner of
this game knows that they have a direct line to
that semi final. I do like Penn State in this game.
I've got the Nimney Alliance with the sixty four percent
win expectancy, so I'm projecting this to be the closest

(26:44):
of any of the first round game. I think the
real big storyline here for me is how Penn State
had a somewhat favorable draw in the in the seeding
format here compared to the team that they lost to
in the Big Ten Championship, and that is Oregon. I
think Oregon would almost rather be the sixth seed and
Penn State's path than the one seed and have the
path they have. But for this game, I do like
Penn State. I think they're better on both sides of

(27:06):
the ball. The fact they are at home is going
to play a factor as well. So Penn State to
me is going to be the favorite and they should be.
SMU had a great year. Was it totally unexpected? I
had them as the highest projected win total of any
team in the ACC, but certainly there was the question
of you know, they lost an E championship game, are
they still going to be in I think they're playing
with house money, which makes them a dangerous team. And

(27:28):
we have Team Penn State with Drew Allert quarterback, but
also just with James Franklin at the helm, they have
struggled in some of the biggest games they played during
franklin tenure. If Penn State doesn't win this game, the
questions about James Franklin his ability to win in big
games will only grow louder. So I think Penn State
they have a lot to play for. Obviously, SMU might

(27:48):
be free, Penn State needs to play that way free
and loose as well, because if they don't. I could
see SMU having the firepower to pull off the upset.

Speaker 1 (27:55):
Stett Gottlieb Show here on Fox Sports Radio. That's that's
the voice of Kelly Ford. Okay, Clemson takes on Texas.
Texas is a twelve point favorite. Clemson fifty one and
a half points is the total. What do you think
of this game?

Speaker 2 (28:14):
Yeah, so I've got this as the biggest projected spread
of the first round. So, as you said the spread
there from Vegas, I've actually got a little bit more.
I like Texas by about thirteen in this game. I
think the Longhorns are better on both sides of the ball.
Texas for me, yes, they struggled with Georgia and that's
really the biggest games they played this year. People will say, well,
they haven't played really anybody outside of that, and that's

(28:34):
hard to argue. But Texas has really handled their business
outside of the games against Georgia. And so for me, Texas,
you know, they're a top five power into the team.
This might be the best defense in all of college football.
The offense is top ten to go with it. So
I do like Texas in this game. With an eighty
two percent win expectancy Clemson. You know, I talked about
SMU Indiana playing with house money a little bit. It's

(28:55):
weird to say, but Clemson the team that many left
for dead, especially after they lost to South Carolina in
the regular season finale. They're playing with a little bit
of house money too, and so they're dangerous teams. They
have the high end potential to pull off an upset.
But I just think Texas is too good. They have
too many players on this team that have played in
the playoff before. See Sarkeigan's been here before. They know
what it was like to lose in the playoffs last

(29:17):
year to Washington in the semi final. I think they're
going to do everything they can to avoid that feeling
once again. So I do like Texas, and this is
a game that I probably feel most confident that Texas,
the favorite, will ultimately win.

Speaker 1 (29:28):
Miss One Stuck Gottlib Show on Fox Sports Radio. That's
the voice of Kelly Ford. All Right, Kelly, let's get
to the last one, the Big One. Tennessee Ohio State.
Ohio State play at home seven a half point favorites
forty six and a half to total.

Speaker 2 (29:42):
This is the big one. I think It's the one
people are most excited about in the first round, and
it's easy to understand why because the storylines around this game,
and in particular around Ohio State Ryan Day zero to
four against Michigan the last five years now hasn't won
a Big Ten championship since twenty twenty. Why can they
not get over that hump? Is it a Michigan specific
problem or is this a team twenty million dollars worth

(30:05):
that was put together an nil money coming into this year.
Is this a team that just can't win the biggest games.
You look at the game they locked by one point
on the road at Oregon, then they laid the dudg
just a few weeks ago at home against Michigan. I
talked about it. Indiana can get off to a fast start,
how Notre Dame may not be able to keep up
with with Leonard playing quarterback. I have the same concerns
about Will Howard at Ohio State. Ohio State has all

(30:26):
the fancy toys in the world at the skill position.
Is will Howard good enough in the biggest moments in
the biggest game to get a win when his team
and put together a drive when his team needs it?
The most. I'm not sure we haven't necessarily seen that
just yet, but this Ohio State team, on paper is
certainly more talented. I can understand why they're favored. My
model likes somebody about eight and a half points. I

(30:46):
have a seventy three percent win expectancy in this game, Doug.
What I would say is that when Ohio State plays
their A plus game, and you can argue we haven't
seen that at all this year, and I'd probably agree
with that. If Ohio State plays their A plus game,
I'm not sure there's a team in college football that
can beat them. The problem is they haven't played that
eight plus game and when will it come back to
bite them in the playoff? Here because they they did

(31:07):
lose those two games during the regular season, didn't even
play for Big Ten championship, which seems almost unfathomable when
you think about the amount of money that was invested
in this team and the expectations that they had coming
into this year. I mean, there was a half a
dozen guys that openly stated, hey, I forwent the NFL
Draft last year as either a first, second, third round
pick because I wanted to come back and I wanted
to beat Michigan, and I wanted to win a Big
Ten championship and I wanted to win a national championship. Well,

(31:29):
you're oh for two and if you go oh for three, man,
that's really damaging for that program long term and what
they're saying the recruits that are coming in and transfers
that they're trying to learn a Columbus.

Speaker 1 (31:39):
Kelly, you're the best man. Love the site, love the
work you do. Can't wait to see what happens this weekend.

This is game time game on the Doug Gottlieb Show.

Speaker 1 (32:29):
It's the Doug Gottlieb Show. It's Fox Sports Radio. What
do you have there, Moncie Belanas. In terms of game, Well,
it's Thursday.

Speaker 6 (32:38):
So what are we playing? Sam?

Speaker 1 (32:43):
I feel a draft?

Speaker 6 (32:44):
That's right, So we are gonna be drafting out of
the first round of the college football Playoff the teams
that we think are going to make it to the
next round. Yes, so are we doing upsets?

Speaker 7 (32:56):
No confidence?

Speaker 6 (32:57):
Let's do let's do what we think is gonna make
it on.

Speaker 5 (33:00):
Yeah, there's two rounds, so well, all eight teams are
going to be selected. So in essence, the draft order
is going to end up being the confidence that we
have in them getting to the next round.

Speaker 6 (33:08):
Yeah, moving on to the next round. Perfect, The order
will go, Sam, Moncey, Ryan, Doug sounds good?

Speaker 7 (33:16):
Sounds good? All right, Sam, your with the number one
overall pick. I'm going to draft the Notre Dame Fighting
Irish Wow, seventh seed to defeat Indiana. They're playing at
home again. Like Doug, you've brought up many times. You
wonder if Indiana is really cut out for this playoff.
I think Indiana is. I'm sorry, I think a Notre
Dame is. They look rugged on defense, they can run

(33:37):
the ball, they they're just they're a physical looking team.
So I'm going to take Indy again. I'm gonna take
you as Notre Dame in the state of Indiana for
the Battle of Indiana, Notre Dame fighting Irish.

Speaker 1 (33:49):
Sam's taking Notre Dame. Notremember all these lines are available
in the Draft King sports book app used Goed Gottlieb.
Notre Dame is a seven point favorite. Yes are you taking?
You take Notre Dame end points? Sam.

Speaker 7 (34:01):
I think I'll take Notre Dame to cover that seven.

Speaker 6 (34:03):
Yes, okay, all right, okay, my turn. I am going
to between SMU and Penn State. I think Penn State
moves on to the next one. They're both coming off
losses in their conference championship games, Penn State falling to Oregon,
SMU losing to Clemson on a last second field goal.
But you know, SMU has turned the ball over twenty

(34:25):
one times this season. They have five games with at
least two turnovers. Penn State they rank nineteenth of the
country average less than one turnover per game. I am
taking Penn State to move on to the next round.

Speaker 5 (34:39):
Okay, I will go here. Go for it, Ryan, and
Texas is the biggest favorite in the first round. Their
twelve point favorite on draftking Sportsbook. So I'm gonna take
Texas here. I think that they're gonna get through Clemson.
I don't want to say easily, but the line says it.
I think I think Texas is the best team out
of these eight teams. So I will take Texas here.

Speaker 1 (35:00):
I'm looking at the Draft Kings Sportsbook gap and I
like so Ohio State takes on Tennessee and this is,
by all accounts the biggest game. I'd be stunned if
this thing's not close. And right out the line is
seven and a hook. I just I take Tennessee in
the points. I just think that's smart. So Ohio State

(35:21):
team that hasn't been great, even offensively against Indiana when
they won, they weren't great. So I do think Ohio
State wins, but I think it's a close football game.
I think that spreads a little bit too big. I
will take Tennessee in the points. Ohio State to win, and.

Speaker 6 (35:39):
I think that's game time.

Speaker 7 (35:43):
We still have one more round.

Speaker 5 (35:44):
You can flip it and see just the order of
most likely to pull off an upset. I mean, Doug's
already said Tennessee.

Speaker 1 (35:50):
Yeah, I think.

Speaker 6 (35:51):
Yeah, I don't feel cold. I mean, if you guys
have an upset that you want.

Speaker 7 (35:55):
To draft, I'm going to draft. With my second pick,
I'm going to take Clemson. So I think kide club Nick.
He's been in every mister everything for their offense, and
we don't Texas this year? Have they really They really
haven't beaten anybody to play the SEC. But I'm going
to take as an upset Clemson. Wow, that's my second pick.
We gotta go quick here. I would take Indiana. It's
in the narrowest line of the four games, so I

(36:16):
would take Indiana's seven point spread for for Notre Dame,
I go Indiana.

Speaker 6 (36:20):
I would go Indiana too if I had to pick an.

Speaker 1 (36:21):
Upset like I like Notre Dame. You know, I don't
know if Penn State blows SMU out, especially with some
snow and Happy Valley. But yeah, all right, that's game time.
This is game time on the Doug Gottlieb Show, come

(36:45):
