We'll take you around the country. I'll take it to
New York. We'll find out about the New York mess
with with Harvey uh and uh boy, what a what

(01:30):
a disaster that is with the New York Mets. When
you're your star, I guess former Ace has to be
checked up on when they call him sick for work,
we said. Saballos, the former dunk champion NBA All Stars,
gonna join us in about ten minutes. We'll talk to
him about the NBA Playoffs, which I want to get to.
In a second, Kevin Dan will join us. We'll discuss
the l A Clippers, what happens There strong rumors that

(01:54):
there could be a potential move of one of the
Big Three from the Clips. Plus take you to Golden
State where the Warriors sweep away the Utah Jazz. Let's
start with the Warriors in the Jazz because there's a
growing I don't know if it's a pushback against Lebron
James and likely seventh consecutive appearance in the NBA Finals.

(02:17):
But there's a contextualization is that the Is that an
actual word or did I just make it up? I
think it's an actual word. The contextualization of the Lebron argument,
which is, hey, look, seven years in a row in
the finals is awesome and the fact that he hasn't
been hurt is amazing. Well, let's also be completely candid.
The East has been down for all of those seven years,

(02:42):
and who he's beaten to get there takes at least
a little bit away from the fact that he's always
gotten there. And if you don't think that's the case,
if you don't think that argument is being made by
more than just sports yakkers like myself. Take a listen
to Draymond Green after they dismantled the Utah Jazz what

(03:03):
he said about the Cleveland Cavaliers and how they've been playing. Then,
Cleveland's been playing great basketball, you know, you washed them,
It's been amazing. And then you watched other teams that
they're playing against not so much. So. I like, that's
just my opinion, though, whatever, who cares? First of all,

(03:26):
when you when you when you say something you can't
like you don't have to back your way out of it. Right,
here's a hot take and let me well, that's just
my opinion. Who cares on in Either your opinion matters
because you're sharing with us, or doesn't matter and keep
it to yourself. Now, there is a certain irony to it, right.

(03:47):
It's the Golden State Warriors, who two years ago went
through an NBA plass where never was the point guard
of the other team healthy. Drew Holiday wasn't healthy first
two games. He took down the Pelicans, um as they
went on the apps every team. Mike Conley wasn't healthy
for part of that series. They took down the Grizzlies.
I'm trying to think who else was hurt on their

(04:09):
run two. They didn't obviously have to play the Thunder
that year because that was the year the Thunder missed
out in the playoffs to the Pelicans, and then in
the NBA Finals, Kyrie Irvan was hurt, Kevin Love was hurt.
There's one other series I'm I'm missing in terms of
who they took down. They didn't face the Spurs and
didn't face the Clippers. They were on the other side

(04:31):
of the bracket. And so this is the same Warriors
team that had an easy run and had an easier
time of the Cavaliers. Is what are he's saying inaccurate?
It's not, it's not. It should also be pointed out
that the Warriors, even this year, even this year, probably

(04:54):
won't have to play the Spurs, didn't have to play
the Clippers, and though they've dominated the Slippers, Like, let's
be honest, the Clippers at full strength or the Jazz
at and the Jazz weren't healthy, Golbert wasn't healthy coming back,
and they didn't have George Hildy's past A couple of
games are starting point guard last three games, So like, look,
he's not wrong if he's like the Warriors, you're playing

(05:17):
the Calves are playing great. But we know the West
is better than the East, maybe not as much as
it's been better in the past. There's also the irony
two or the the pot calling the kettle. If you
will right the pod, you guys have an easy road.
And wait a second, dude, you guys had an easier
road because George Hill's hurt and he didn't play the Clippers.
You guys had an easy road when he won the

(05:38):
won the championship two years ago. What are you talking about?
So um? I look at it, and I think it's
okay to give context as long as you're being fair.

(05:59):
It's all so okay to point out that Lebron James
overachieved when he got to the finals the first time
in Cleveland. He was in the finals four consecutive years
in Miami. The first year was not nearly as good
a roster, didn't have ray Allen Um and he was
so good in those finals, even the ones he lost
that two of them there was a lot of talk
and he probably should have been the finals. M v

(06:20):
P and his team lost in the NBA finals. So
is Lebron facing weak competition, I guess and in the past, sure,
But the West is not nearly as dominant as it's
been over the East in the past. A good reason

(06:40):
for the East being down is that all the good
players are playing with Lebron. Much like in the West.
So many of the good players have gathered up on
the Golden State Warriors, and it's just cheeky. It's just
interesting that here the Warriors are beneficiaries of of injuries

(07:01):
to make playoff runs. Making their playoff runs easier dismantling
the Utah Jazz, who are good but didn't have their
point guard Rudy Gobert was still kind of banged up
to start the series, and they were dominant. Oh but
they You could say the exact same thing that Draymond
said about the Calves. They've been great, but I've been
unimpressed by their competition, and say that about the Utah Jazz.

(07:27):
And could you make the case that they were both
injured with Andrew Bogut and suspended for a game with
Draymond Green when they lost to the Calves last year
after being up three games to one. You absolutely could,
But you still had a three games to one lead,
you still had two games at home, and you had
Game seven at home and you lost to me. My

(07:52):
takeaway is, I'm okay with Draymond poking the bear. I'm
that's who one, That's who Draymond is. I'm okay with
these teams not liking each other, because there has to
be some reason to keep me intrigued from an utter
league and completely unintriguing, not very interesting NBA playoffs to

(08:13):
start right like this is not And the reason for
intrigue is with two best teams that have loaded up
with players that have faced each other the last two
years that have had that injuries have caused as much
of the championship as the talent. And of course we
had a great game seven last year are likely to

(08:34):
meet up for six or seven games, and they don't
like each other and they're tweaking each other about each
other's history. Right, I think that's good. We got phone
calls to take. Possibly you got, said Sambolos to join us. Man,
We got a lot of stuff to get too. Did

(08:55):
you see this story? I aired Dan Buyer reporting the
story at the top of the hour where the judge
has vacated the Aaron Hernandez verdict. It's a and like, look,
this is a there's lots of stuff about court that
you don't know about. Like did anybody else who's not
a lawyer know this could have happened that a guy

(09:15):
who was convicted beyond a reasonable doubt in a court
of law for the murder of Odin Lloyd could have
that conviction thrown out simply because his appeals hadn't been hurt.
I would have thought it's the other way around. Hadn't
heard the appeals, so the conviction stands, right, doesn't that
that logical? Like, what's the purpose of a trial if
when the guy dies all of a sudden like, ah,

(09:37):
you know what, that never happened. Um now, end of
the day doesn't really matter. I don't think his daughter
that many people think we'll see a financial windfall. I
don't think that will come to be, even if they
declare bankruptcy, because they're gonna, you know, maybe they'll be
able to hide some money more for his former fiance

(09:58):
and for his daughter. But Odin Lloyd's family is going
to sue them in civil court, and he's any anything
that they can get, they'll they will get. But what
a strange loophole that I didn't know existed? Like I
I guess I learned something today. But I also learned
that you can murder somebody who you used to consider

(10:19):
a friend in cold blood, leave them in an industrial park,
have your d n A all over the place, have
cell phones track and you have a video of you
celebrating the fact that you just shot a friend. Have
your fiance, the mother of your daughter, likely take the
weapon that you used to kill your friend out of
your residence. I mean, get caught even even um enclosing arguments,

(10:46):
His defense lawyer at the time said, well, maybe he
was at the scene, but he maybe he didn't pull
the trigger. Right. He used the fall guy argument at
the very last second. They had him hook line and sinker.
He was guilty beyond a reasonable that it didn't take
time at all. Like, hey, guys, guilty as hell, and

(11:07):
all he's got to do is kill himself or I
guess be killed before all the appeals have been heard
and never happened. It seems like a loophool needs to
be closed up right. Fascinating. You learned something new every day.
Kids learn something new every day, said Fabolos, joins us.

(11:29):
Up coming next, Um does the easy Road of the East,
take away from the Bronze march continually through the East
well last the former NBA All Star and Dunk Champion,
said Sabolis joins us. Next this when things come out

(11:51):
of left field. Having a game plan matters. Farmers Insurance
has eighty nine years of experience helping people pay play
through every stage of the game. We've seen almost every things,
so we know how to cover almost anything. Visit Farmers
dot com. We are Farmers. Let's welcome in Cedric Saballo's,
of course, from NBA All Star, a Slam Dunk champion,

(12:13):
a cow State, fullarts and great uh and a friend
of the program. He joins us on the Doug Otlip
Show on Fox Sports Radio, said, let's start with last night,
because that's freshest in our minds. Your impression of it
wasn't just the four games, the sweep of the Utah Jazz,
and I know they didn't have George Hill and Goldbart
is not nearly as sharp, especially in this season, but

(12:34):
there are what twenty two in the first quarter, it
was utter and sheer dominance in this series. Did you
learn anything about the Golden State Warriors from the last
four games? No, not as much. They they're they're really effective,
that they're making shots, they're really hard to tend with.
It was more I learned a lot about the Utah Jazz.
Obviously we're gonna see us a great superstar that has emerged.

(12:57):
And Gordon also is unbelievable even on half a tank
with his leg he even played unbelieving in his size. Uh,
it's just hard to deal with. I just feel bad
for the Utah Jazz because it just seems like that
with the way the league is now, they're gonna lose
both of those players, uh through the free agency. Uh.

(13:17):
You know, you you have to look at the success
of the Jazz and when they had that big run. Obviously,
Sloan being a Chicago guy coming in really tough, it
was a perfect place for him. But with Karl Malone
and John Stockton, Carl Malone being a country boy, uh,
didn't didn't really care for the city life, it was
perfect for him. John Stockson Stockton being the same way.

(13:39):
That's why they led that team for sixteen, seventeen, eighteen,
nineteen years because Utah was a place for them and
they didn't mind being there. Matt Barnes tapped on it,
you know, the nightlife and all of the extracurriculum. So
when you get the same amount of money that they're
giving players now, they kind of make their choice on
where they want to be. And obvious see who we've

(14:00):
seen Gordon's hair hair change, his facial hair change and
slipped back. You know, he went to a more cheek
you look that maybe a change in him wanting to
see more in line, like more opportunities, and they may
not find that in Utah. But Golden State. They did
what they usually do. I thought it was great for
coach Brown to get the guys from off the bench

(14:21):
and get them going because they're gonna need them, not
only next round, but they're gonna need them if they
make it to the finals against Cleveland. If Cleveland is there,
I tend to agree with you are going to need
that bench that that could be the difference. A Doug
Gottlib show rolls on Cedric Sabolos our guest after the game,
Draymond said essentially what many people said, like, Look, the

(14:42):
Calves are great, but the East is soft. East is
closer to the West this year, maybe than it's been
in a couple of years, but the West is still better.
Do you believe it takes away from what Lebron has
been able to do seven likely seven consecutive finals if
they get there this year because the East had been
so soft. Well, it's that way because of the fact

(15:03):
that I talked about Utah before. You know, this is
a league where players are in control of where they
are and where they want to be, and most of
them aren't choosing the nice weather and and you know,
easier travel. Uh situation, So uh that the East is
a tough league when you when you're a big man,
but when it comes to being a superstar like Lebron James,

(15:23):
the league is the real you know, difficult for him
to to get somebody to match up with. You know,
I see Kevin Durant to be the only player or
or maybe even uh Kawhi Leonard being the only player
that really, you know, one on one challenges that man.
Other than that, you know he could do that when
anybody in the league and the crudes through. It's just

(15:45):
it's just the dynamics of him being such a star
and and the team in the East and the teams
on the East Coast being so focused on trying to
stop Lebron. That's when he eats you alive one with
the way he plays downhill and to the fact that
you don't you don't pay much oftention to the other
the others that he had that, you know, the Kyrie Irvings,

(16:06):
the Loves, also the Tristan Thompson. Now you emerge where
Darren Williams coming off the bench chatting fry you got
you know, make buckets are still over there on the
bench that has has points and and uh you know
you get Kyle Corman coming and lighten you up. So
there's so many other weapons that they have surrounded. A
great job by Mr Griffin and in the front office
by putting this pieces of puzzle. I hope they keep him. Um,

(16:28):
you know next year his contract is up. But the
pieces of the puzzle that they had put together around him,
it makes it so easy from him because you can't
guard him one on one, but if you do try
to double you leave such a dangerous so many dangerous
weapons on the floor. That's why it makes it look
so easy. And and and mostly Eastern Conference teams don't
go more than one or two, maybe even three at

(16:50):
at at some places with superstar deep you know, Toronto
had you know to two marginal superstar. One was on
the bench, hurt Um. You know. You look at Boston,
they're in the hunt now they have one superstar and
you know they had another that when he was in
Atlanta with Al, but he's not he's not a superstar
in Boston anymore. So they have one superstar. And uh,

(17:11):
you know Washington, they have one potential superstar in Wall
maybe bial is emerging himself to be a superstar, but
they don't have enough superstars to contend with Lebron's team.
That's why it looks so easy for him, and you
try to guard him one on one and it's impossible.
Cedric Cibolos join is Doug Gottlie Show, Fox Sports Radio. Um,

(17:32):
all right, so let's let's discuss John Wall twenty six
years old and Grant there are times to which you
go back to overtime in game two, fourth chording game
too in Isaiah Thomas outshine him, but it does seem
like he's bumping. He's he's getting closer to that ceiling right,
Like he's always had the speed, he's always had the vision,

(17:53):
but now understanding when to push and when to slow up,
how to how to get everybody else involved in the
development of his His jump shot obviously a huge part
of it. Um. So the question becomes is that if
the Warriors and the Calves are likely to meet in
the NBA Finals, and I had to pick one team

(18:13):
of the rest of the teams in the NBA to
be the next to make the NBA Finals, would it
be the Whiz, Would it be the Spurs? Like? Who
would it be? In your mind? Well, if they'd probably
be the team that gott eliminated in the first round,
and the Los Angeles Clippers, but they couldn't put it together.
Blake went down. I thought Paul had a little bit
more in the tank to help that team out. Crawford

(18:35):
didn't come up the bench like we all know him
to be accustomed to um you know that. You know,
I thought that would be the team that would you know,
continue them in the San Antonio Spurs. But you know,
Game two, it just shows you between Boston and Washington
on how more focused on defense Boston is than Washington,

(18:58):
especially late game if it comes down to a late
game situation. As you saw in Game two, Boston knew
they had to take the ball out of John Wats there.
So it wasn't a point of John Wall and Isaiah
Thomas being more effective. It's the fact that their defense
that Boston put on him got that ball out of
his hands, made other people be a superstar that day.
And now it seems like Washington has understood that and

(19:21):
are doing the same thing with Isaiah Thomas. They allow
Isaiah to switch to pick a row and then just
go to work on on guys that are six ten,
six eleven seven foot and that's impot He's impossible to guard.
He's already dangerous. But when you put a seven footer
on him and try to contain him and a little body, uh,
it just doesn't happen. They have been affective with that.

(19:42):
We'll see what happens game five. But if they continue
to do that, but that's the difference. John Wall needs
to know. You know, I have to keep this ball
in my hand, either we're down or it's a close
game late, I need to keep the ball in the
hands and I need to create and make that play.
And that becomes maturity. Uh, and also experienced being in
that situation. Boston new their game plan was to get

(20:05):
the ball out of his hands and let somebody else
beat them. Now, Washington, that switches around and and and
kind of put that same thing on our their time.
All right, the series said that we all thought would
be the best series maybe up until the finals. Is
uh is now four games in and none of the
games have been close, right, and it's the Rockets and
the Spurs, So help me out. We got three left.

(20:25):
The Rockets have had one of that there two wins.
They've had twenty two and nineteen made threes. The Spurs
have one of the other two games. Is it simply
come down to the Rockets make their shots, they're gonna win. Yes,
And that's been their whole season. If Rockets make their shots,
they they they win ball. And you can't. They have
too many shooters. They spread the floor so much. They

(20:46):
use so many gimmicks and tricks. I love the fact
that Papoviches has the spurds. When their guarden, James Harden,
they're aware of this three point sling to get you
to file them and that type of thing. They're aware
of that they're they're slowly whispering to the referees, this
is what he's doing. You know. League is trying to
change that. Uh and and and if you and that's

(21:07):
just done d'antoni's system, that's the way he was and
and New York it didn't work out. In Los Angeles
didn't work out. I watched them up close and personal
in Phoenix. Um, when you have a guy that can
handle a basketball the way Steve Nash and James Harden does,
and when they change their mentality to a pass first mentality,
and and and they're more dangerous when the ball leaves

(21:29):
their hands to go to somebody else. They're they're real effective.
But on the other hand, on the defensive end, they
predicate their their defense off of you launching something and
being like them. I said a couple of years ago,
you really can't out warrior the Warriors. So when you
try to out rockets the rockets like early shots, uh
you know, uh, unorthodox passes, a shot attempts that really,

(21:53):
you know, weren't weren't a great shot, early shot clock thing.
They eat you alive. And sometimes you get dated into
that because they're not really a trash talking team, but
they they walk with a strut, they walk with a
swagger that makes you think that they're talking trash. And
it's like, this was too easy for us, this is nothing.
James Harden never changes his expressions. Uh and and and

(22:13):
it gets under your skin. And I think some of
the young players feel that, Okay, I can go ahead
and shoot this quick one. But it's also detrimental to
your team because that's falls in exactly what Dan only
system wants you to do. Get an early shot so
he can do what he does best, push the ball
with the court, get you in foul trouble, and slang
those threes out uh, last thing said Cedric Balls joining

(22:34):
us NBA from NBA All Star and Slam Dunk Champion
Doug Goatlet show, Fox Sports Radio and the I Heart
app as well as series sex M Channel three UM.
Last night in that area, twenty one show Kevin Garnett
had like a Celtics reunion. Of course, not so curiously
absent was Ray Allen. And what we heard on the
show was, hey, look, we were super close. We won

(22:55):
a championship, and then we turned around and it wasn't
that Ray Allen left. It was that he didn't tell anybody,
talk to anybody. He just left. And now he's out
of the group and he's not really welcome here with
reunion unless you know, he lets buy guns, be by
guns and he he you know, and he breaks the ice.
What are your thoughts as a guy who was in

(23:16):
this league. You've seen player movement. Player movement has become
a much bigger part of the league in terms of
the Celtics. The former Celtics still being bitter about Ray leaving.
Get over it. Basically, Uh, you know, it's so funny
that fans and other players always criticized free agents or
players were moving and and you know, not contacting players.

(23:40):
But they you know, they say nothing to the the
ownership or the general manager, even the team when they
trade their favorite player away. You know, obviously I got
traded away a couple of times. You know, it wasn't no, hey,
let me talk to the superstar on the team and
let him know that we're trading this guy away. Even
when I when I got my you know, I was
on the team and they traded my super star away

(24:00):
that was there. And they didn't come to us and
ask and say, hey, well, this is what we're gonna do.
They just did it and and and Ray Allen. And
it worked out for Ray Allen. You know, it was
perfect scenario for him. You know, it was with a
team that, um obviously the best player on the planet
at the time, Lebron James. You put a shooter in
the corner. And I mean it's not only he was.
He was on the team just sitting on the bench.

(24:21):
He was a big part, I mean a huge part.
And then winning the championship and going to the finals
those years. So you know, if guys want to, you know,
say hey, man, it's a Ray it's that another right,
you know, you know, if you look at that team.
I think Kendrick got traded away, you know, to Oklahoma
or a big baby got traded away or something else.
And then Paul and Kevin Garnett they got traded away

(24:43):
to Brooklyn. You know, did they call everybody and say, hey, man, uh,
we're gonna trade these guys away. Now. They can't. They
can't hold rate accountable for that. You know, at the
end of the day, you know, Kevin Gardnett and the
rest of those guys made a decision to come together
to win it championship. They did that. After they did that, uh,

(25:04):
you know, you can't blame a guy for one to
go try to get other rings, because you know that
that wasn't the accomplish right right. Ray wanted more than
one championship, and without got he went out and he
went out and did it. Was a big part of
those two championships. In the three Final four three Finals,
run said great stuff, thanks so much for joining us.
Look look forward to catching up real soon. Okay, guys,
it's said Sabolos Jake. I'll get to your call in

(25:27):
a second. You can call us eight seven seven nine
on Fox. I don't know if it was good. I
mean the interview with LaVar Ball. It was an interview
with LaVar Ball that was yesterday on with Calling The
Calling Cow Herd show The Herd. I was guest hosting.
We ran on this show. I know Jonas Knox is
kind of have to run that sound on this show. Um,

(25:48):
how about some good numbers? Four at the number shoes
the place? No, Like, okay, I got nothing. Look, I
have never worked in a quote unquote uh in the
in the business of marketing. Although look roll in sales, right,
We're all in the people business. We're all in the
sales business. Radio is nothing more than the sales sales business. Like,

(26:11):
I'm in the people business. You relate to me, we
tell stories, we talk about sports and oh yeah, by
the way, we talked about our sponsors. That's part of
this sale. I do have a marketing degree. I was
blown away by the fact that LaVar Ball was not
wearing the new shoes, Like, is anybody else, Like it's
not that hard to promote, like to have them with

(26:33):
you haven't has anybody's seen Shark Tank? Like, what's the
number one thing? I bring the product with? You give
them to the people where the product, pitch the product
he didn't have them, and then he was like, well,
you know, they gotta get a little bit more comfortable,
Like oh, here we go, yes music. Yeah, you brought
that up earlier today when you were on the Herd,

(26:55):
that like, okay, you need to refine the products. Here's
the thing. You don't have to tell the people that
the shoes aren't ready have a pair that's wearable. Those
can be the most uncomfortable shoes in the world. All
you gotta do is walk around. There's like walking on clouds.
I mean, look how cool these are. These are the

(27:16):
most comfortable shoes I have. Everyone. Your feet could be
bleeding inside and that doesn't matter, as long as you
convince everyone on TV that they're great. Take it till
you make it, fake it till you make it. Let's
let's welcome, and let me make sure I don't screw
this up. But Jake in California wearing California. Jake, you
listen to the show, Santa Clarita. Very nice, very nice?

(27:37):
All right, your your thoughts on the NBA. You know,
I grew up watching Jordan's w g in games all
the time. It was great. I just think the NBA
is so boring now should be called the Nichael Basketball Association.
You know, there's the quality of play is so far down.
You got people comparing Lebron to Michael, which is just
a joke. I mean, it's it's it's embarrassing Lebron Dooline

(28:00):
want to take a big shot. Nobody will ever acknowledge
that because we live in this study world where it's like,
oh my gosh, the Bron is so good. That's I'll
be so nice to him all the time. But that's
the big problem with that n A. Everybody's nice. It's garbage.
It's so boring. I can't even believe it. Well, look,
I'm not gonna lie to you and tell you that
these these playoffs have been awesome. Okay, and sitting there
go this is awesome. I do think it's gonna culminate

(28:21):
in the two best teams with you know, all the
good players, like with the most good players, they're gonna
meet in the finals and it will be really good.
I do think Lebron is amazing, but I would agree
with you that there's a certain amount of overexpansion, and
the talent is more spread out, and the games, you know,
the games have not been particularly good. But I would like, look,

(28:41):
if you went back and watched old NBA games, there's
a lot of boring games there too. It's in our memory.
I do remember better NBA series. I remember, you know, uh,
the Knicks pushing the pushing the bulls a couple of years,
I've obviously remember the Pistons, and later on you remember
the Pacers some pushing the bulls like those were Those

(29:05):
were great games, more challenging games, and we are prone
to this. The last thing we see is the greatest
thing we see. But Lebron is doing some amazing stuff. Like,
let's not diminish it because we grew up watching unbelievable basketball. Uh,
I have to mention this. Dan Buyer's Dan Buyer is

(29:25):
a married man. Now, this is his first day back.
So he got married on Saturday, he took his Sunday
show off, and then Monday he was off. So this
is the first day back. Danny's still going by your
maiden name. Are you gonna take her? I'm still going
by my name, and it's gonna stay that way. I
think it's it's maybe the only thing I'll be able

(29:46):
to keep. But no things were magnificent. This past weekend,
uh said goodbye is a family who was in town
yesterday and my mom, my sister, and my nissa left
and uh so, yeah, back at it today with some
some new hardware. Dog, I don't know if you saw
the boy, but getting adjusted to this is actually the
the one of the trickier things. I'm not used to
wearing jewelry. Okay, so so let's let's discuss this for

(30:08):
a second. Uh, I'm not I'm not gonna talk about
your physique all that often. You don't appear to be
a huge workout guy, like, welcome back. Damn, I don't know.
I don't, I don't, I don't. No, I'm just like so,
I don't know if this is a problem, but you,
oh my Dan, you're a really nice guy. No, no, no,

(30:35):
that's not what at my point, Like, do you have
a backup ring? No? I don't. Is your ring? I
didn't see? Is it made of Frankinson's and goldum titanium?
So tight team is not terribly expensive? Right? Those are
the Oh now I'm fat and cheap? What's going on here? Dog? Seriously,
welcome back? So you know this is not coming out

(31:00):
the way I wanted to come out the way I
was promise you look Okay, So this is my third
wedding ring, my first wedding only wedding, only been married once,
is my third ring. I'm bringing this up because I'm
trying to give you almost seventeen years of knowledge. I

(31:21):
only brought up the workout thing because, like when you
work out, like you're gonna take it up. There are
certain things you you take it off for. And if
you haven't warn jewelry, like women wear jewelry their whole lives. Right,
you get some teenager graduated high school like they got
a little or a little promised ring, thinking something like that,
unless you're Irish wearing a cloud or ring like most
dudes don't wear a ring. So whether it's workout or

(31:44):
uh you play golf now, now golf, you a lot
of guys take it off for for golf. Yeah, I
don't think I'm gonna be able to play with it.
I think it's gonna have to have to come off
at that point. Okay, So the reason I said titanium
is it's a good thing. Like I had a couple
of diamonds on my initial wedding ring, which is super cheesy,
was way more expensive than it needed to be. I

(32:04):
should have done this. I got this my boy Benny
in uh In uh Las Vegas, my jeweler, Like he's like, dude,
this is like a bucks. I think this is titanium
or some sort of black gray thing or whatever. It's
really good. And if I leave it on when I
work out and get scratched, like I don't care. And
oh yeah, by the way, if I lose it, I

(32:24):
just call him. He sends me another one like that's
not gonna you don't want to be out a thousand bucks.
So my the thing is it's a lot like and
then the first time you have a kid, this will
happen as well. When you have a kid, kids get
attached usually to a blanket or a love ere right,
you don't want to be chasing all over hell and
have one blanket. That's the same, like, oh god, they

(32:45):
can't go to sleep, Like there are mad dashes that
parents make and they're looking around the house. They drive
themselves crazy. They're arguing with each other all because their
child can't go to bed because they have this one
special woobie loved blankie. I had blank when I was kids,
so that now it doesn't always work out, but if
you can to buy multiple blankets and rotate them so

(33:06):
they're not attached just one, so that they lose one,
you know, same thing with the wedding ring. You know,
I've realized you're treating them like the Olsen twins on
Full House, Like it could be one twin, it could
be the other, like you've got them on standby. It's
if you know, hey, maybe maybe it's one Olsen twin
in the scene. You know child actors, you have twins
because it can't work them so much. That's what you're

(33:26):
doing with blankets. You're putting one in and then if
you need then the other one fills the role if
it's upstairs. Right. So so that's what I was, That's
what I was trying to get to. While I insinuated
that you might not work out all that off, and
while I insinuated that you might be cheap, but none
of this is so the point was, actually I really

(33:46):
wanted it to be an advice, but it turned out
that I kind of tweaked you twice unintended. Yeah no,
that's all right. My wife, who is you know, was
able to purchase this ring. Now, I'm sure it takes
great offense to it. No, this is what happened. You.
We looked at the rings. We didn't look at the
price first. It was what sort of ring do you like?
We picked it. It matched the price point, and so

(34:07):
it was it was good to go. Uh one bank
accounter two. That's a little t M. I's a little
and And did she ask you to sign a prenup?
Because we know how sfstal she is. She kind of
runs this place. I just yeah, yeah, it's a little
t M. I alright, I just with America. America wants
to know Dan. But we're honestly serious, nobs. We are

(34:31):
happy that you guys are happy. And the ring. The
rain held off. Although I'm sure you might have gotten
a discount on the ring or on on something, because
if you got rain on your wedding day, right, but
you didn't. We did not. We got sunshine and it
was great and the temperature was perfect. It's happy that
you're happy, dude, that's all. If you can't root for
somebody else's happiness, there's there's something wrong with you. Real

(34:51):
news or fake news. It debuts next broadcasting live from
the studios of Fox Sports Radio. Here's Doug Got Leave
show brought you by True Car. When you're ready to
buy a new or used carve is a True Car.
To enjoy more confident car buying experience, go to True
car dot com. We'd like to try new things. We'd
like to evolve here, so we're gonna try something new,

(35:14):
a new Uh, there's something new inside my sack. Let's
reach into godly sack. All right? Every day we read,
keep reach into my sack and pull out something to
play with. Hello, pause, Dan buyer, newly married, newly minted?
What do you got for me? Ah? Let's see. Yeah,

(35:34):
what do we got here? Real news? Fake news? Real news?
Fake news? How about that dog? Okay? Are you ready
to play? I'm ready. Former Yankees great Derek Jeter says
that he has one regret from his major league baseball career. Okay,
and that regret is not winning the two thousand one
World Series against the Diamondbacks. Real news or fake news,

(35:55):
I'd say real news. I would say that was a
series um in which obviously Mario Rivera ended up costing them,
but they got too hung jung ryu. That was a
great team that they had going against the team with
two really good i'd say that's real news. It would
be a fake news fake news. Yes, Jeter's one regret
is that he didn't keep a journal during his entire

(36:17):
playing career. He had to keep one in his final
year in and said after doing that in his final season,
he wish you would have done it in the nineteen
other years. See that, kids, you should all keep it journal.
How about this real or fake news? Michael Vick wants
Josh McCown to be the starting quarterback for the New
York Jets. Michael Vick wants Josh McCown to be the

(36:37):
uh real news. Josh McCown's solid, steady backup doesn't cost much.
That's a bad football team. They just need a veteran
to get them through this year. Survey says fake news. Yes,
that's because Michael Vick said the team is better off
grooming Christian Hackenburger Bryce Petty saying quote he'd throw Hackenburg
out there when he spoke with the Bergen Record. His

(36:59):
advice to Todd Bowles good luck for the upcoming season
for the Jets. Yeah, not a lot of good choices. Yeah,
good luck, by the way, is not exactly what you
say to somebody if you really wish them good luck
and and and the full quote was man good luck
end quote that was from Bad Football Team. Hey, Hall

(37:19):
of Fame center. Shaquille O'Neil, the first ever guest on
the Doug Gottlieb Show on Fox Sports Radio, now wants
to run for sheriff in real news or fake news.
That's real, that's real. I saw that story. He's always
wanted to be a sheriff. He's like an honorary sheriff
or law enforcement guy elsewhere. He really wants this. That
would be the equivalent of all of it. Higher on

(37:40):
card Sharks. Let's hear the answer. You are right, it
wasn't an interview at w x I A that check
said it was something you always wanted to do. Yes,
holds residency in Florida and Georgia. So Shaquille O'Neil does
want to be a sheriff. And to remember, there was
that viral video remember when the cop it was in

(38:00):
Florida when he went and shot hoops with the kids
and then Shack ended up showing up a couple of
days later, and they made a you know, a great
big thing about it. It was it was pretty cool,
how about final one for real news or fake news?
Megan Flaherty arrived at her high school prom in New
Jersey in unusual style. She wrote in on a donkey
real news or fake news? Doug, uh no, that's a

(38:25):
fake news. I saw this story. It was something else.
It was something creepy. You are like like she was
in a coffin. You are fake news. It is fake news. Yes,
she wants to become a funeral director. So the seventeen
year old arrived in a coffin. Okay, so the hearse
pulls up. They will at the coffin and Megan Flaherty
pops out with their date waiting. Some loved it, some

(38:48):
not so much. But she wrote yes, wrote in a
hearse and then popped out of a coffin on her
prom nights. She has an interesting sense of humor. That
was Scott lead set. I mean like, it's memorable, right,
it's a memorable entrance. Oh weren't you that? Like you
can imagine her at her twenty year reunion, like, Megan,

(39:09):
you did something that prom Like, yeah, I showed up
in a hearse in a coffin. What are you now?
I'm an undertaker? Well exactly that that fits, that fits,
you were pushing up Daisy's. Matt Harvey spoke to the
media why this relationship with the Mets is over next
in the Dug Gotlip Show Boom Dug Gottlieb Show, Fox
Sports Radio. You know when it's over? Did you know

(39:34):
when it was over? That's that's the big question, whether
it was a job, whether it was a relationship, have
your marriage, friendship, did you know that moment that it
was over? Right, there's those moments in life, like look,
the greatest moment in life, And it doesn't matter if
you're single or you're married. Dan Byer recently married, congratulations, um,

(40:00):
Ryan Music, producer of this show, not married is a
living in sin I believe I'll just point that out
case your parents are listening. Listen, ra most long time
has been married long time. Ramost can relate to this,
just like Buyer can relate to this, just like Ryan
can relate to this. Like the greatest thing and guide
him is that moment in the night when you know,

(40:23):
like I think good here, right, I think I'm good here.
You guys know, you guys understand, we all understand what
I'm talking about. Like that moment to which you're talking,
you're talking, you say just the right thing, you bring
the drink at just the right moment, you're just all
of that stuff seems to line up and you're like,
I think I'm good here. Right now, I'm think I'm

(40:46):
good here. I know I'm good here. It's a great feeling, like, yes,
gonna be a good night. We all know what, right, Okay,
So there's those moments. It's it's the moment to which
you're having a you're you're having an interview with the
potential boss you which is like, I'm getting this job,
this job is mine before and I'm not saying that

(41:09):
when you're out with your lady or you meet a
girl at a bar and you pick up on her,
or even when you're having dinner with your wife, like
this doesn't change. They control everything, right, Like, let's just
be honest. They control everything because I don't know a
guys are like, nah, I'm not really feeling it tonight, right.
They're just those those I'm sure those men exist, just

(41:30):
not my world, not any of our like, not the
reality of it. But there are times in which they
gave away a hint which you're like, oh, I'm good here,
this is awesome and they have yet to say it.
That's what I'm talking about at the moment. The same
thing with a job. You know, they call you back
in for a second interview, or you have an interview
and they make a phone call and they start asking

(41:51):
you stuff that you're like, well, they would only ask
me this if they're going to give me the job. Um.
It happens in a bad way too, to which you
start to ask you like, wait, I used to do that.
I used to have that. Um, I'll give you an example.

(42:11):
Um Bart Scott, a friend of mine, a former linebacker
for the Jets, and of course the Ravens. Yesterday it
was announced that CBS was, uh who they hired? They
hired what's the name from the NFL network, Nate Burilson
from Good Morning Football. And then like look if you
knew what was going on at CBS, like, well, theyve

(42:32):
Brilson and they're moving Phil Simpsons studio, Like wait, Tony
Gonzalez left, Okay, there's an open share and Phil Sims
pills the open chair and now Nate Burilson like wait
a second, somebody's gotta go. And you know today was
yesterday was also announced that Bart's not gonna be back.
But I'm sure there was a moment to which, whether
it was a photo shoot or you're walking into work

(42:53):
one day and you see a guy who it plays
a similar position, or a young player comes in like, well,
they're not getting rid of this guy, they're not giving
to somebody's got to go like, oh my gosh, that's
the moment. I believe the moment that Matt Harvey was
done for the Mets happened over the weekend. Happened over

(43:17):
the week How familiar with the story are you? Ryan, Like,
you're a West Coast guy, do you know anything about
Matt Harvey? I'd say, uh, if ten is like you
know all of the details, I would give myself about
a seven fairly well versed, but I wouldn't be surprised
if there are some details that I'm not aware of.
Matt Harvey. Um could not have checked more boxes for

(43:42):
the Mets. A couple of years ago, and in one
of the most ridiculous things ever. Remember when he started
the All Star Game in two thousand, it was his
first full year as a picture He ended up with
a spectacular two point two seven e r A Um
He only won nine games that year, but he appeared
in one six games. He had on strikeouts, which is

(44:04):
spectaculor and only thirty one walks. That's a great ratio.
And when you have more strikeouts than you have innings
pitch seventy eight, you're a swing and miss picture. His
nickname was the Dark Night. He was affable, he was funny,
he wasn't scared of the camera. He liked New York.
He liked all the different things about New York, and

(44:26):
he seemed to fit in with the Mets. And the
Mets are alway they are though way more successful. They
are always they're way more successful than pretty much any
other second team in any other city, in any other sport,
there's still the second team in that city. Because the
Yankees have won twenties seven titles. You're like the perfect
met Like this guy is great. But there's a thing

(44:47):
about New York. You throw a bunch of money, and
a young dude, especially one that likes going out, being
out with the boys, likes to throw down, and you
can get down a vortex. He's gained some way after
one more good year last year and they went to
the World Series, remember, and then of course uh. He
blew an opportunity starting in Game seven of the World Series,

(45:10):
didn't pitch well and he wanted to go back out there,
and he didn't have gas in the tank. And then
last year he had z R A blew up four
point eight seven, couldn't locate, had thoracic outlet syndrome came back.
This year hasn't been much better, and then he got
suspended over the weekend. Turns out Saturday night he was
partying in Manhattan. That per page six, Page six, that's

(45:33):
the New York Post. The story goes something like this
on Sunday, he was supposed to show up at the
park Monday, he was supposed to start on Sunday. He
called his pitching coach and it's like, yeah, I'm not
gonna make it in. I'm not feeling well. Here's the
moment you knew that Matt Harvey was done for the Mets.

(45:57):
Ready for it. The Mets security over to check on it.
Matt Harvey is a grown man. He's twenty eight years old.
He is not a child. He is a former All Star.
He is the former ace of of a pitching staff
that went to the Worlds. He went to Game seven
of the World Series, and they went to check on him.

(46:24):
Relationships are over the moment you either one stopped talking
or to stop trusting each other, aren't They Like when
you call your boss and say I can't make it
in I'm sick, and his responses go check on him,
and you're not sending a doctorate. It wasn't like they
sent the team doctor, Hey man, what can we do?

(46:45):
Need some pills and you go to see somebody like
is the flu is or whatever? They sent team security.
They sent the goons in just to double check it. Now, look,
he was in fact home. He was sick. You know,
because when you drink as page six reported, um he
drank ASA's Spades Don Julio two personal favorite by the way,

(47:09):
sipping tequila and Belvedere when you drink Ace, Don Julio
two and Belvy in the same night, and I'm guessing
he didn't have one of each. And at four o'clock
the next day you call your boss and go, uh, sick.
We know that sick means hung over. The team found

(47:35):
it necessary to check do a wellness check on him.
At ten pm. He answered the jeor the door in
his pajamas, which do you guys sleep in pajamas. I
don't sleep in pajamas like pajamas. I don't do the
nude thing commando either. Um. I usually I just do
like hoop shorts and a T and a T shirt, right, Like,
isn't that what most or maybe boxers in a T shirt?
Right Like Jamie's feels really formal. Although like when you're

(47:59):
back Standards cold winter, you put on some socks and
some jammies and like Henley, like you feel kind of
like you're in the mountains, you know. Yeah, like Coppa Henley.
You know the three button to long sleep with like
three buttons down the middle. That's a Henley Henley. All right, Um,

(48:20):
I wasn't disagreeing with you. I just had no idea
what that was. And just I'm just informing you. And look,
I'm not like I'm some not not sort of master
of hab a dashery. But I do know that because
I've ordered from the J. J. Crue catalog before. And
you have to delineate the differences in style, right, you
gotta know what a Henley is. Henley's not a hoodie,
although there are Henley's with hoods, and it's really confusing

(48:43):
to try and order one of those. Matt Harvey faced
the media today. Here was his apology. I apologized for
for my actions, and I do apologize for my actions. Obviously,
I'm extremely embarrassed by my actions. Um. I apologize to
my teammates, to the Mets organization, to the Wilpons, you know,

(49:04):
all the way down to the Mets fans for doing
what I did. Here was his explanation of what happened. Yes,
I was out on Friday night past curfew. I did
play golf Saturday morning, and I put myself in a
bad place to be ready for showing up for a
ball for a ball game. That is my responsibility. Can

(49:27):
I can I tell you what's likely to have happened
if you went out late Friday night at the four
o'clock and then you played golf in the morning, right,
and then you call in the afternoon like, dude, I'm sick.
So the guess is instead of being hungover and taking
a couple of you know, taking four advil and washing

(49:47):
it down with some water and drying out during the day, Uh,
he did what any good alcoholic does, right. He had
to help me crack the cold. One never too early
to drink away, drink off a hang over. And while
that sounds like a good idea, and your buddy's like, hey, man,
here you go have a bloody Mary drink that sucker off. Right,

(50:08):
car girl comes around, You're just like, hey, buddy, keep
them coming. It's gonna be a long it's gonna be
a long walk. The fact is it is, in fact
a bad idea. When you're a professional athlete, dude, it's
Matt Harvey's got two in on it front nine. Is
that normal? You can spare me with the you calling

(50:31):
Matt Harvey an alcoholic when when your alcohol you're partying,
starts to disrupt your work. Now you've got a problem.
You want to call. You want to say you have
the disease or don't have the disease of alcoholism. We
can argue the dad dude's got a problem. But more
than anything, when they send security to check on your

(50:51):
grown ass man, you're like, dude, I can't come in,
I'm sick, and they're like okay, and they don't even
send a doctor, and stop with this. It was a
wellness check. If it was a wellness check, why didn't
they send the team doctor? They sent security because they
didn't think you were there, or they thought you were
in trouble. Again, they'd only think you were in trouble
if they didn't trust who you were hanging around and

(51:13):
what you're doing. And it's not the first time he
got suspended, uh in the playoffs or not suspend he
got he got fined in the playoffs going back two
years ago because he no showed for a voluntary day
or for a workout day. Yes. Right, So this reminds
me and you being a father and John Ramos being
a father, tell me if this rings any bells. It

(51:34):
reminds me of your like in middle school, so that
like mischievous sort of age and you're like, Hey, I'm
gonna stay at Shawn's house and your parents are like,
let me talk to Shawn's parents, like they have to
check in on your plans to make sure that's what
you're following in on because they're not sure if you're
really telling the truth. Yeah, or they actually, you know,

(51:54):
swing by the house and see if your cars there, right,
exactly like their parents did. My parents take my word
my word for it, and they shouldn't have. Uh. I
sneak out in high school. I had always had a
had to, Well, you had to. I I don't know.
Did everybody sneak out in johlmost romist John didn't buy?

(52:16):
Or did you sneak out in high school? He's he's
he's busy, he's bright because he's doing he's multitasking. Um, yeah,
you know that. I'm just the moment to which it
was over, Matt Harvey is always he's He's got Scott
Boris the world's biggest agent. You know they wanted two
hundred plus million dollars. He's the ace for the Mets.

(52:37):
You gotta pay to play if you want to keep him.
This suckers over. It's right, it's and it's one of
those They didn't say it was over. They're gonna try
and be supportive. They had to suspend him. But the
moment to which you know you knew was when he
said I'm sick. They said okay, and then they turned
and sent their security to check on him, and it

(52:59):
didn't include doctors. If you can't trust your ace at
his word that he's ill on a night in which
he's not even pitching, he's not he's not part of
your future as a baseball organization. It's over. It is
in fact over. We'll take it to New York and
find out about Matt Harvey's future. Will take you to

(53:19):
the Bay Area, UH and react to the sweep and
Draymond's comments trolling the Cleveland Cavaliers competition that's upcoming next.
Doug Gottlieb Show, Fox Sports Radio rolls on. You can
always call the show eight seven seven nine six six

(53:40):
three six nine if you do the spell out stuff
thing that's eight seven seven Fox. Is there a Is
there a term for that? Is there a term for
like when you spell out spell out numbers? Right, It's
like not an acronym um. It's kind of different. It's
gotta be a term for this, term for everything, term
for every thing. It was like I got an argument

(54:01):
about somebody when you when you're on when you're in
Hawaii and you missed the mainland because you've been on
an island in Hawaii too long. Do you know what
that's called? Yes, go ahead, right, island fever. It's mistakenly
called island fever. Rams know what it's called, do not.
It's called rock fever. Honestly, they say island fever has

(54:24):
become like the some people use it it's misused. It's
actually always called rock fever. You fear the big you
you miss you missed the fact you're not on the
mainland rock fevers anyway. Um So, I don't know exactly
how you say, but if you spell it out, eight
seven seven nine nine fox, or if you do the numbers,

(54:47):
it's eight seven seven six six three six nine got
a home run in Colorado? Day baseball? Do you have
to be without a job to go to a day
baseball game? Or is it some you just play hookie
from a job like I don't know. I just I've
never done the day I've never once done a day
baseball thing. I have not. Speaking of baseball, let's take

(55:09):
you around the country and get you updated on a
couple of the big stories the day. We have people
everywhere who know far more about the topics of the
day than we do. We got guys. We don't know everything,
but we know people that know what you want to know.
You know, sounds like you need a guy. I got

(55:30):
a guy. Mike mccaro is our guy in New York
right for the New York Post, which, in addition to
page six, has great sports reporting. Mike, so let me
get this straight. What we heard from Mark Matt Harvey
and what we've read and page six in your paper
is he went out partying with the boys, drank a bunch,

(55:53):
then he got up early and played golf that next morning,
and then he called in sick. I mean, if you
even critic for actually playing kind of golphin next morning, right,
I could have got out of bed after that. Um.
What was conspicuously absent from his press cameras today, Doug
was the word migraine. I think that's pretty much gone
by the wayside in terms of explaining, at least from
his term to his side of things, would happened last weekend. Yeah,

(56:16):
migrain that he reported prev that he said he had
was was hangover. Um, So I guess the question becomes,
am I reading this wrong? When they sent security over,
They didn't sent a doctor over to the heat. Isn't
security over to check on his wellness at ten o'clock?
When you do that, it shows you don't trust your employee.
He called in sick, they didn't take his word for it,

(56:38):
They went and checked on him. Doesn't that just show
with no trust that this relationship can't continue well, certainly
on life support? You know, I mean the mess that
the metsor has gone through, the rings with with with
with Matt for a couple of years now. I mean,
you remember he blew off a mandatory workout before the
playoffs two years ago, which you know they were willing
to put up with them because he was still in

(56:59):
his full of dark night powers and and it was October.
So I think he's probably gonna have a longer open
those in those situations. But he's a diminished picture now
and it's May. And this isn't the first time they've
they've had to roll their eyes at his behavior and
wondered about his lap of commitments. So this is what happens.
Three games suspension and uh, you know they they do
to make matters worse. In my view, they're not pitching

(57:21):
him tomorrow on a Wednesday when they shouldn't at home
because they're fearful of what the crowd reaction will be.
Although that's nut what they'll admit to. So you gotta
pitch up by Friday in Milwaukee, far from the bustling crowd.
But but shouldn't he I mean that what he kind
of deserves, right, Like, dude, you screwed up. You you met,
you embarrassed our franchise. Now you have to go and
face the masses. I mean, that's what I would do.

(57:42):
I mean to me, if you want to make the
punishment complete, it's face the music. And here's the funny thing,
Like I mean, he would certainly probably get food pretty
massively when he took the mound, you know. And if
two and a half hours later he scatters five hits
over seven and things, which by the way, against the
Giants is entirely possible. Um, you know, it's it's also
a nice easy way to turn the crowd in his favor.

(58:03):
Maybe that's not what the Mets want, who knows it's
it's it's really hard to understand sometimes what the Mets
to front office thinks about these things. But clearly they're
not happy with Matt Harvey, and clearly in this situation,
I think there's cause for them to be unhampered the player. Um,
this is kind of the Mets cycle, though, isn't it, right,
Like they go to a World Series and then all
of a sudden he has this sarrast thoracic outlet syndrome. Uh,

(58:25):
then they you know they re signed Tess, but's to
a huge contract, and now though they played better of
late Syndergaards out with a torn lat Harvey's Harvey's out
with with a hangover, and they're middling at fifteen and
sixteen like this is kind of to anybody who's followed
the Mets Mets for long enough, nose like there is

(58:45):
short lived success following followed by a couple of disastrous years,
right which amazing is the last year was the second
time in their history and they have been around forty
five years now, the thing time in history they made
the playoffs back to bad Uh. So yes, there is
certainly a condition there that you're there that you're referencing
in rightland. So uh, there's plenty of baseball says left

(59:08):
for them to recover. But the problem is they're going
to try and do it diminished. They're gonna try and
keep it in chatting the Nationals without their best everyday
player for a while and their best starting picture for
a while. It's gonna be a hard task, for sure.

C C. Mike, Thanks for being our guy in New York.

(59:29):
I got a guy, I got a guy up. In
Northern California, Joe uh Fort and Ball joins us. He's host.
He hosts Mornings with Joe Low and Dibbs one point
five the game in the Bay Area. That's an I
heeart to feel it. You can listen to that on
your I heart app as well if you don't live
in Northern California. Joe Up, what do you think of
the second round series against the Jazz in regards to

(59:52):
not just how the Warriors played, but how the Warriors
played under Mike Brown. I like the way the Jazz
showed up for the series. I'll be honest about that.
I think it's a team after five years of not
making the playoffs, they definitely took a step in the
right direction. As it pertains to the Golden State Warriors
right now, the one concern would be how they perform
in the second quarter. If you go through the eight

(01:00:12):
playoff games they've played to date, the second quarter is
the only one in which, through those eight games they
are not only scoring the fewest amount of points, but
they are being outscored by the opposition. They've been great
coming out of the shoot in the first, they've been
great in the third quarter. They close games well, but
when the bench gets involved for the opening four minutes
of the second quarter, it's been disastrous by you know,

(01:00:33):
Golden State standards. But by and large, under Mike Brown,
you don't notice much of a difference. He seems to
be pushing all the same buttons that Steve Kerr pushed.
From an individual player perspective, Draymond Green is heaving up
more threes, and we all know that when it comes
to Draymond Green and Steve Kerr. Kerr hates when Draymond Green,
let's it fly from deep Brown and last year to
a lesser extent, Luke Walton, when the substitute teachers in

(01:00:55):
Draymond's gonna let himply all right. Steve Kerr had back
surgery over the weekend. They have an announced that he's
out for the playoffs for the But he's out for
the playoffs, isn't he? It feels that way. It feels
that all preparations have been made to move forward with
Mike Brown as the head coach, and to just consider
the fact that if Steve Kerr makes it back, that
it's going to be a blessing in disguise and it

(01:01:15):
is going to be an added luxury. Curve made it
very clear at the beginning of the playoffs, when this
started in the Portland's series, that he was not going
to come back if he felt good one night and
then missed the next night. He wants to keep the continuity,
so he's got to be at about and anyone who
knows what Steve Kerr has gone through since the initial
back surgery two years ago knows there's one thing he
doesn't have, and that's continuity. He's been in pain and

(01:01:37):
this has been a big problem for him. Okay, who
would they rather play the Rockets of the Spurs. It
depends on who you talk to. Personally, I'd rather see
them play the Rockets because I think that's a better
tune up for the Cleveland Cavaliers in the finals. You've
got two teams that ranked second in third in terms
of offensive efficiency and pace. They love to move, they
love to shoot threes. Playing Houston would be a better

(01:01:59):
warm up for the Warriors than playing San Antonio, which
is a slower paced team, and going back to back
with Utah and San Antonio, then you go with Lebron
and an up tempo Cavs team that could catch you
off guard early. A lot of people feel that if
anyone's gonna steal a couple of games, we're making an
interesting series, it would be Houston. But you gotta think
big picture with the Warrior team, I think Houston would

(01:02:20):
be the better matchup, just to get him ready for
the finals. The only one of the things. Javelle McGhee
is kind of the best kept secret in the sport.
He's so forever been clowned, but if you actually watch
him play, he's had a tremendous year. He brings a
ton of value to this team. Dog Dog. They love
him at Oracle love him, and that's the beauty of
what the Warriors do. Everyone wants to see him start,
but they start Zaza and about five six minutes into

(01:02:41):
the game, the opposing team is finally starting to figure
out what a comfort zone might be against the Warriors.
You Subben McGee, it's a completely different offense. It moves fast,
You've got lobs to account for, and McGee gives you
these four and five minutes spurts off the bench that
just when you figure you might know how to defend it,
he's on his way out and someone else is on
their way. Yeah, he's become a definite fan favorite, especially

(01:03:03):
here in the postseason. Joe Fort and Ball hosts The
Mornings with Joe Low and DIBs one point seven the
game in the Bay Area. It's an I heart to
feel it. You should listen to it. Joe, great stuff,
thanks for bringing it here. On the Doug out Lip Show,

We'll find out if the Durant Westbrook feud is finally over. First, though,

(01:03:23):
let's find out what's trending. Wait for it. Oh, we
don't have it on this, don't have the hook on this?

(01:03:44):
was fantastic. I have been hunting. I'm not Elma Fudd,
but I have been hunting, and I do think the
fact that Jake Cutler was honest about the He didn't
know when push comes to chef like you could have
you could. You could be on a legal bear hunt
and be like, you know, like I can't do it.
I can't do it, um, and two people out there

(01:04:06):
like how could you hunt the bear? I wouldn't do it,
but two things. One, those claws aren't for picking berries.
And secondly, they wouldn't legalize the bear hunt unless the
numbers said that there were enough bears that could be
could be hunted. You know, you get one tag. I'm
sure a season you paid for it. Again, I couldn't

(01:04:28):
do it, But I also I used to live in
a neighborhood where there were a couple of bears that
live live close by, and it's like one of those
deals where you're like, look, I understand we're moving in
on your territory. And but if it's me or the bear,
the bear got go. The bear got go? Like you

(01:04:51):
do know, Winnie the Pooh was a cartoon, right, just
you know, right anyway, sometimes relations it just matter more
to some than they do to others. And by that
I don't just mean emotional relationships between man and woman
or even man and man or woman and woman. If
you go that way, you know I was a bing,
you were a b would you find this be attractive?

(01:05:12):
Not just those types of relationships I'm talking about just
like friendships, Like, um, my two best friends in the world,
I have other people that are are very close friends.
My two best friends are my son eight years old.
Did I did you see what I tweeted out Ryan

(01:05:32):
before the show? Yes? I was texting back and forth
with my son this morning. On Tuesday mornings, my wife
takes my daughters to band practice. Uh, their band geeks,
and she takes my son to Starbucks. They have a
morning together. They're on the East Coast. Still. Uh. This
show emanates The doug Otlip Show, Fox Sports Radio. Eminence

(01:05:53):
emanates from southern California. We'll we'll get them out here
after school is out and so, um, we had a
funny text conversation where I was texting him a bunch
of memes and so he text me work work, work, work, work, Uh,
that's what you do all day. And then a crying stitch,
you know, stuck in the rain, and he says bye.

(01:06:16):
So he's given me the guilt trip, which it works.
Doesn't feel terrible, give me the guilt trip over work
and not being near him my best friend. And if
you asked my son who his best friend is, he
would say his dad at least better. And then if
you asked my brother who his best friend is, I
would think he would say me as well? Could you

(01:06:37):
say my wife? Sure? Outside of that, like, I do
have very very good friends, and I always try and contextualized, like, oh,
he's my longest friend in basketball, he's my oldest friend
in sports. Rare, Like I have really really good friends,
but there are some people that think they're better friends
with you than they are. Like, Um, if I don't

(01:07:00):
have you in my cell phone, we're probably not friends. Right.
If you don't know my wife's first name, we're probably
not friends. We're definitely not. And if you haven't been
to my house and we've been friends for a long time, Dan,
we're not really that good of friends. Right. You did
put your wife's first name out onto Twitter before the show?

(01:07:22):
Did people know her names? Angia? She'll she'll tweet at
people too. She every once in a while, she's had it.
She'll just tweet at people and she's like, you know,
she didn't care. Um, I mean, it's on It's one
of the few accurate things on Wikipedia. Is her name
is Angree, so that's that's not a I didn't put
her cell phone number on there. I just put her
name so I could have put wife a wife e

(01:07:44):
or like I don't know, ball and chain or something
lame like that, you know, but I did did her
names are. The point is that sometimes relationships mean more
to some people than they do to others, Like, oh,
we're we're really really good friends and you're not really
good friends. I feel like that's what happened between the
Celtics and Yale. Last night they had Area fifty one.

(01:08:04):
You guys watch Area fifty one Kevin Garnett's show where
every twenty one sorry that's former number Area twenty one
Kevin Garnett show. Um, there's good parts to it, and
there's just ridiculously awful parts to it, right, I mean,
it's funny and he got to do his own thing
and whatever. It's not always great television, and I'm actually

(01:08:26):
sometimes more impressed by the guys he brings on than
by Kevin himself, because he's so busy given shout out
to shout out to shout out to like just have
the conversation that you're having. Last night was interesting. He
had all his former boys back in from the O
eight title team with the Boston Celtics. But I believe
it was Kendrick Perkins who said this about Ray Allen

(01:08:53):
leaving the group as Paul Pierce. Paul Pierce said this
about Ray Allen leaving the group in two thousand twelve,
who joined the Miami Heat. I was initially hurt by
the whole way everything went down. I thought we formed
a brotherhood here Boston, you know, just how we carried ourselves,
not only on the corp but off the court. And
I just figured, like if it was me leaving or
KG leaving, that would have been like, you know where

(01:09:15):
Rondo Pert, baby, you know what? This is what I've
been thinking about. That was That's what I was heard
by when Ray didn't just at least give us a
heads up about it. He didn't give you a heads
up about it. You know why? Because you're not that
good of friends, right, You're not that good of friends.
If you're surprised by something you read the news about

(01:09:35):
a friend, hey, news flash, not that good of friends.
We're not that close and that's okay. You don't have
to be best friends with everybody you work with, with
everybody you play with. You just don't um And by
the way, like this is not like they won a
championship in the eight and then the that very off

(01:09:58):
season he left. Look couple of years later and they
were starting the parts were starting to be traded away.
The run was clearly over. The only people that didn't
know the run was over was the Brooklyn Nets, who
traded for Pierce and Garnett and Jason Terry and gave
back three first round picks and this year's ability to
trade to swap first round picks, like it's the worst

(01:10:20):
trade in the history or best in the history of basketball.
Like the Nets were the only team that didn't know
what was going on. But everybody else is like, they're
kind of done. Oh, but it was a brotherhood. We
were tired. It's about more than basketball. Like three I
was like, not really. Then you had Kendrick Perkins, who,
of course part of that championship team was traded away

(01:10:42):
to Oklahoma City. He offered this up in regards to
Westbrook and Durant and that relationship. The night that Russ
actually broke the record, I had sex Katie. He saw
me at six and was like, hey, man, me and
Russ had a nice conversation with the media. Don't even
oh nothing about it. But I just let it be
known that you know, they're back on talking tims, you

(01:11:04):
know what I mean. So, and I wouldn't be surprised
if Katie make a little run. I wouldn't be surprised
if he goes back to Oklahoma because, in my opinion,
I don't think Rus's going though with all right, So
he doesn't think Russ is going nowhere. He thinks Kendrick Perkin,
by the way, is the worst secret keeper in the
history of secret keepers. Do you remember last year around
this time when he was Kendrick Perkins was, uh he was?

(01:11:27):
He said like, yeah, me and I had to sign
some papers to not tell anybody what team what we
were talking about. But we talked about some teams. Remember that,
Like wait, wait, you had to sign a non disclosure
agreement and then you disclose the fact that you were
talking about other teams, leaving anybody with the brain to

(01:11:48):
think that, hey, Katie is actually thinking about leaving. No,
I didn't. I didn't say any team's names. Like, yeah,
but you said you were talking about teams. That's kind
of enough. Now we can draw the conclusion as to
which teams are a legit possibility. And then he said, like,
I don't want to put this out in the media. Dude,
you're on television. You've become the media hot Mike. But like,

(01:12:19):
bygones are bygones, and a good phone conversation or a
good text, especially at just the right moment. I think
most things, most relationships are in some lay level reparable,
right do you reparable? Reparable? Reparable? Like reparable sounds more intelligent,

(01:12:41):
you know, but don't tell Kendrick Perkins a secret. Russ
and Durant are back on speaking terms. I don't think
Russell Westbrook's leaving because he likes being king there. But
I also think that that says of now that's after
one year without Durant, frustration could build that the moves
aren't made to a better team, and next year he
could still go back to l A. And I'm not

(01:13:03):
buying that, Kadi. Let's say again, let's see what happens
Katie wins the championship or two, Like, why would he
leave Golden State? And if he did, why would he
go back to Oklahoma City and there was some sort
of brotherhood that Ray Allen wasn't actually didn't know that
he was in, oh, his brotherhood. I didn't know that.

(01:13:25):
I just thought this was a job. We won a
championship and I went on to another job. Clay Travis
said the NBA playoffs should be single elimination. Why once
again Clay Travis is out of his mind? Next when
things come out of left field, having a game plan matters.

Um I will, I'm We'd love to do this every

(01:14:07):
day if we can. When we bring back something that
somebody said earlier on Fox Sports Radio, I haven't touted
it because I worked for the company. I've touted it
because I worked for the company. I believe it to
be a fact. It's the best overall national radio lineup
that's ever been created. Like you listen after hours, whether
it's Ben Mueller or Jason Smith or j T. Brick
or Steve Gorman Sports that follows this one like there

(01:14:29):
ain't a guy There're like, wow, I don't know how
that guy got a show. And frankly, when you look
at other places there are and then you followed up
with Clay into Dan uh into Colin whatever you think
of our show, I think it's really good and I
think it's a diverse group of opinions that usually make
you think. I'm a friend of Clay's and Clay Travis

(01:14:52):
obviously now he makes people think. Sometimes he makes people angry.
In this particular part portion of what did Fox say
play discussed the NBA, let's get after it and now,
so I think a blind man can see that. So far,
the NBA playoffs have been dull. Right, This round of

(01:15:12):
the playoffs hasn't produced a single digit final squaw final
um point differential. I mean they've all been whatever level
you call blowout more than ten points in the postseason,
that's to blow out. They've all been ten or more.
So Clay offered this up as a solution. If the
NBA said, okay, there's thirty franchises, maybe you go ahead

(01:15:34):
and bump it up to thirty two, and you played
one to thirty two and the first round of the
NBA playoffs is one and done. The NBA did exactly
what happens with the n C Double A tournament, and
you played one game and you could get eliminated. No divisions,
you know, no conferences, everything, just rank them one to
thirty two and you played first round of the NBA

(01:15:56):
total elimination. That would be pretty awesome. It would also
help too, I think eliminate tanking because even if your
team sucked, you'd be like, man, I want him to
finish so we can win that first round game and
get into the playoffs. The problem with that is that
you'd get at some point a one seed would be beaten.

(01:16:17):
At some point you'd have one see a one seed.
That the reason they extended it from five games in
the first round and before that it was three games
in the first round to seven games in the first
round is the NBA wants to have the truest champion
of anybody in sports, the truest champion of any and
it is really really hard because not all regular seasons

(01:16:39):
are alike. Like the Dallas Cowboys. The Dallas Cowboys had
home field advantage throughout last year for the NFC. Were
they the best team. I don't believe so. I don't
think anybody actually thought so. But they benefited from the
fact that division was down and their matchups were soft.
They really had some easier matchups in terms of who
they at home, who they played away. The teams that

(01:17:02):
they played, despite their success in the previous year, were
a little bit down. And so even though the NFL
would like you to believe it's a balance schedule, it's not.
It's hard to get that. And so their playoffs are good,
but their class are still one and done. Cowboys play
the Packers again, and the Cowboys play him ten times.
Did they beat him five? Did they beat him seven?

(01:17:23):
The answer is maybe, I don't know. So that sounds
really good and it would bring more excitement to the
early rounds. But in the NBA finals, you want the
biggest of big names playing at the most important point
in time of the season, which is the NBA Finals.
And when we think back to great NBA seasons, it's

(01:17:44):
when we've had the two one seats. It's when we've
had the two teams on a collision course, Lakers and Celtics,
Lakers and Pistons, Bulls and Lakers. We know now, well, listen,
we never got Lebron versus Kobe. That's something we've never
were gotten. We didn't get it. So getting Lebron versus
Steph two years in a row is one thing. To

(01:18:07):
get it three years a row is even better. The
ratings will be obscene and so yeah, you sacrifice some
excitement because the games are dull early in the playoffs,
but they'll be great late. That's what the Fox said.
Coming up next, Draymond Green has uh called out Kelly
Olynnock on his podcast, call him the dirtiest player in

(01:18:28):
the NBA. Wait to hear what one Boston Celtics said
in response to dre Andre da calling out his center.
That's next on the Doug Gottlieb Show, Fox Sports Radio,

what happened with Draymond Green. We told you we played
for you earlier, Draymond pointing out that though the Calves
have been great the East, the their opponents have not.
That's funny because Draymond Green pointing that out when we

(01:19:35):
watched them dismantled their first two round opponents, including the
Utah Jazz, who offered very little resistance and didn't have
their point guard George Hill for three of the four games. Like,
all right, so you're not impressed by Toronto, but you
are impressed by the Jazz. Draymond went even one step
further on his podcast Dre Day when he had this

(01:19:55):
to say about Celtics center Kelly olynnok. Kelly is dirty player,
man holding, they called him in the Facebook, and like
the neck with a couple of elbows. And that's what
I don't understand, you know what I'm saying, Like you
let people get away with stuff and then finally with
somebody react, you penalized that guy, Like, but you're not
gonna penalize him for continuing to elbow this guy in
the face. I don't get that he's dirty, dirty player. Man.

(01:20:18):
I don't respect guys like that. And I mean, I
know he's not like the greatest basketball player of all time,
so maybe you feel like you gotta like do that,
but you don't like just dirty like I don't respect
that man. He dirty? All right? I see if you
can hear this, this is Isaiah Thomas, the point guard
and lean school man. We're not gonna use that sound
because it's too it's too too many balls bouncing. Yeah,

(01:20:39):
it's too bad. Here's what we said. Quote. It's a joke.
The Green said that the playoffs, every everything somebody says
gets blown out proportion. Everything somebody does gets blown up proportion.
We can't worry about whether others are saying are doing.
You didn't say pot called cattle, right. This is Draymond
Green saying, guy that kicked like three guys in the
nuts last year in the playoffs, they tried to ring
the chimes of of Lebron James and Frankly, Draymond suspension

(01:21:04):
is as much a reason for the Calves being pulled
off life support as Andrew Bogat's injury, as was Lebron
James's block and Kyrie Irving's jump shot to win Game seven.
Like Draymond plays in Game four, there might not in
game five, there meant might not be a Game six
where Andrew Boga got hurt. And whether or not you

(01:21:27):
consider Draymond Green dirty, I don't. I think he flails
and flops and is a showman. But there are times
in which he makes plays that could be perceived as
dirty and people in the league perceived as dirty. The
worst part about it is he ain't a good player, right,
He's not that good a player. So this is basically
this is the only way to stay in the league. Look,

(01:21:49):
you might think Kelly Olynok, and maybe Kelly Lynnok has
the reputation of being dirty. That was not a dirty screen.
He didn't move, he didn stick out a hipp he
and stick out a knee. He planted his feet, and
he had his arms tucked into his chest. It just
so happens that he's gigantic. And when you're gigantic and
you set a screen on a guy who's like like

(01:22:09):
normally Kelly h Brads seven venus in a defensive stance,
he's probably I don't know, five ft five, maybe six ft.
So if you're six ft and you come running into
a dude that's seven ft tall and he's got his
arms tucked into his chest, guess what You're going to
hit his elbows? He went down, Ubrey went crazy, Ubrey

(01:22:30):
went after him. Olenic didn't really fight back. He was
just like, yo, what was it? Kelly on Kelly crime? I?
Oh yeah, By the way, I believe the Boston Celtics
where Kelly Green? Did you know that Kelly on Kelly
and Kelly was wearing Kelly. But how bout Draymond calling

(01:22:54):
somebody else dirty? Right? Draymond called as Draymond being dry
month And it's okay because it it it's it seems
to have gotten a good type of nastiness out of
Kevin Durant, where he doesn't want to be pushed around.
And you have to have a guy like this on

(01:23:14):
your team, you kind of do. You gotta have to
have a guy who, whether he tweaks the other team
or not, is willing to do what others are not.
But calling somebody a dirty player. Calling somebody a dirty
player in basketball is a lot like calling them a
racist in life. There's really no way to like, no,
I'm not a dirty player. What what? What could you

(01:23:38):
possibly offer up if you're Kelly OLYNNOK that states you're
not a dirty player, Like I'm not a dirty player.
Yes you are, No, I'm not. Yes you are. No,
I'm not. Yes you are, No, I'm not any any
pants on fire. There's nothing you can really say. It's
like somebody goes like, well, you're a racist, like, well, no,
i'm not. Yeah you are, No, I'm not. You can't

(01:23:58):
say like I have black friends, Like, don't give me
the I have black friends argument, Like I have no problem.
I think people who think other people are something because
the color of their skin is really is something because
the color, Like I think it's like the dumbest I
think racism is really the dumbest part of society. I
don't like you because your skin is a different color
than mine. Come on, that's that's the best you got.

(01:24:19):
But I can say that. But if some many guys
go like, you're a racist, Like what's my really what's
my defense? No, I'm not ask my friends. Oh there's
your friends are covering for you, Kelly Link, you're dirty. No,
I'm not ask my teammates. What are your teammate's gonna
say yes? Right? Like, even if you didn't think that

(01:24:39):
the screen was dirty. Part of what Draymond was also
referring to was a couple of seasons ago with the
Kevin Love shoulder thing. Did you think that was a
dirty play? No, I thought he was. I think I
honestly think that Kelly Lenno super awkward. I think he's
super awkward. But what about I think he's the reason
he's He's the reason I talked about this on Colin today.
Colin's like, there's just theory or bother. This sees that

(01:25:02):
it was Chuck Daly had that the great players just
moved differently so they don't get hurt. And I don't
know if that's accurate, because I could debunk it saying
Tom Brady torrep is a c l the Nie Maggie
Johnson hurt his knee, Larry Bird hurt his back, like
lots of great players have been hurt. The fact that
Eli Manning hasn't gotten hurt us because Eli Manning gets
rid of the ball super quickly here when he hasn't

(01:25:24):
had an offensive line like Aaron Rodgers gotten hurt several
times like Aaron Rodgers isn't great. So um, anyway, I
look at it and I I think that Kelly olynnok
is a he. He isn't very athletic, He isn't terribly

(01:25:47):
coordinated in comparison to the lists of athletes that he's
playing its. This is why people as like, hey, once
you complay pickabule with me, my guys, because you not
just because you stink like I can play with you
if you're not good. But if you have played basketball,
just the movements are awkward, you do things that most
basketball you're standing in places that you shouldn't stand. It's

(01:26:09):
really really hard to explain. But Kelly Olynic going after
that ball and pulling it away from Kevin Love when
it didn't have to be pulled away from that's like
far more typical. He looked like a guy. If you've
ever been seeing a football player like you go to
a college and this time of year, football players get
down with spring football, so to stay in shape, they'll

(01:26:31):
go down to the Rex Center and play basketball. And
they are super athletic. A lot of them, not oh them,
but there are super athletic, especially for their size. But
they're usually not that coordinated in terms of ball sports, right,
and so that they make the type of plays that
olytics sometimes make. Like they don't mean to have their
arms in the wrong place when they're setting a screen

(01:26:53):
and to knock you out, but they do. They don't
mean to dribble kind of awkwardly to the left with
their right hand, but they do. They don't mean the
cuts aren't the same, the help isn't the same going
to because they don't have natural basketball movements. That's what Kelly.
What about the fact that Draymond has tried to defend
himself in saying that he's not a dirty player and
that's just how he jumps with the Steven Adams kick

(01:27:16):
to the groin or things like that. Do you see
that as being intentional or or do you think that
Draymond is more of a dirty player or is he
kind of in the goon category with Kelly Olynak. Look,
I I actually think the Draymond I think there it's
pod calling kettle because he's does some things which could
be perceived as dirty and questionable. Um, And do I

(01:27:40):
think he's I don't think he's terribly dirty, but I
do think that he definitely pushes the envelope, and I
think he wants to. I think he knows. He embraces
that role of being the guy that pokes the bear.
He embraces that role of being the guy who will
create extra contact. But he will also flop and flail
and kick out his legs to throw up his arms
and or if you if you grab him, he'll grab

(01:28:01):
your arm and pull you down. He did that Rudy
Gobert in Game three. Golbert is getting away with everything
like Gobert. Honestly, you could last night, I would show
you the film. You'd say he's dirty based upon how
he played. Uh, but there's a there's a little bit
of how the sausage is made. If you actually want
to watch the film and you're like, oh, well they're
both dirty, So both being dirty when they're just banging

(01:28:24):
banging on each other's not really dirty yet, right. I mean?
I think that that's why it makes me look at
the Kelly ollenic thing a little different, is because even
if I think Draymond is being ridiculous, when you look
at it and go, oh, how can Draymond call anyone dirty?
That makes me go Draymond's kind of a dirty player.
So maybe he knows one when he sees one. Yeah,
you know, and so that's also a little kid talk.

(01:28:46):
Takes one to know one. Um. I believe though that
because of this discussion, we John Ramos have a Twitter
one two three four, I declare a Twitter war. All right,
this is a fresh off Twitter. Are you ready? Okay?
So Draymond said on his podcast that Kelly Lennox dirty

(01:29:07):
dirty player. Right okay, So he said that, and then
Isaiah Thomas came back out at shoot around. There's like
balls bouncing, so we won't play it for you, but
he said, uh, let's playoffs. Everything gets blown a propors portion.
He said, that's a joke. We can't we can't worry
about what others are saying or doing, right. Uh So

(01:29:28):
he he went to defend his guy. Here's where Draymond
starts the Twitter war at Money Tree Green. Just get
through that series, bro oh boom. Uh you think he
high fives somebody after he sent after he sent the tweet, Yes, yes,

(01:29:48):
love a good love, a good tweet. There's nothing like
a good tweet where you like he did not at
Isaiah Thomas though, Yeah he didn't, which is also which
is soft. Yeah, you think he needed to get an
those mentions. Yeah. If you're gonna tweet at somebody, tweet
at somebody, you can get at me, get at me.
Hell I'm not gonna take this anymore, all right? Uh

(01:30:13):
Kevin Ding is so good that Phil Jackson tweeted about
one of his stories earlier this yere. Kevin Ding is
a national NBA writer for Bleach Report. Wait till you
hear what he thinks of Kauai's lackluster effort in Game
four and what that could do to the rise to
superstardom of Kauai. Letard Kevin Dana, Bleach Report, next, Bubba Buba, MHM,

(01:30:43):
Doug got Liam Show, Fox Sports Radio eight seven seven
six three six nine eight seven seven six three six nine.
Uh Man, there's Kevin Ding's from Bleacher Reports said to

(01:31:05):
join us momentarily. We do have we still have some
series remaining. I mean, it is going to be interesting
to see what happens between Houston and San Antonio and
whether or not that that thing gets close. Houston San
Antonio is interesting because I read this article from Kevin
Ding from Bleacher Report at Kevin Ding is his Twitter handle,

(01:31:26):
and he points out that it was a missed opportunity
from Kawhi Leonard in Game four K while Leonard didn't
play great, uh sixteen points, six rebounds, four assists, they're
beating one to one oh four. Kevin Ding joins on
Fox Sports Radio. Why do you think it was a
missed opportunity? You know, Doug, It's just one of something
I want to point out is that you especially last round,

(01:31:48):
when you had Russell Westbrook going against the Rockets and
he was being you know, judged, analyzed, every every aspect
of his game was dissected, and and you know, we
don't really do that as much with Kauai because he's
sort of a superstar who you know, is so quiet
and off the radar. And you know, if you if
you have a guy who is that good, then you know,

(01:32:08):
every time he takes the court, you have an expectation
that he needs to bring something for his team to win,
especially in a game of this sort where you know,
everybody kind of expected the Rockets to push back, and
it was in Houston and that they did exactly that,
and cou I didn't bring that kind of performance that
that you could take away and say, wow, this guy

(01:32:29):
took another step to superstardom. And that's all I'm saying
is that, you know, the expectations have to be that
high when you when you're that good, And that's that's
all I'm trying to point out. Um, it's fair to
say he's also hurt by the fact that right now
they're starting a rookie point guard, right you don't have
Tony park Parker, and they struggled to get LaMarcus Aldrich
the best out of LaMarcus Aldrich. Well, why do you

(01:32:50):
why do you think LaMarcus Aldridge has been kind of
a peculiar fit for them in the playoffs because he's
kind of a peculiar semi star player. Um, you know,
it was the same story for him in Portland's. It
was was he wasn't there in big moments. You didn't
know if if he would step up. You didn't know
if he could expand his game beyond his favorite spots

(01:33:12):
on the court, you know, and and uh and being
there as a defensive presence on on a nightly basis.
I mean, he's just short of of everything you want.
And and to be honest, that's part of the reason
he stayed in Texas. You know, he near his his family.
You know, he wanted to be in San Antonio for
for personal reasons and uh and in in a way

(01:33:36):
it's it's a better fit because, like I said, with Kauai,
the expectations nationally globally, you know, are not what they
are if he had gone to try to be a
star in l A or anywhere else. So, um, that's
that's the thing with him is you're you could ask
people who to around him regularly in Portland. He's not
necessarily the kind of guy you can bank on making
the clutch play for you made a ton of mistakes

(01:33:58):
that that game in Houston, and and his transition defense
alone is gonna be something to watch because you see
him sometimes just run into the wrong place, not in
protecting the rim, just running out to try to get
his guy. Um, he's gonna have to be much better
job with that tonight in San Antonio. The other question
for tonight in San Antonio is quite simply, will Gregg
Popovitch be stubborn? Will he continue to play his two

(01:34:19):
big guys that doesn't work against Houston? Like right like?
And he's never he's never tried Kauai at the five,
he was a high school Senator. There's no reason he couldn't.
He has tried him some at the four, Like the
stubbornness of Greg Pavovich is uh is very apparent here,
especially in the last game. I think they were a
minus nearly and minus seventeen and a half when he

(01:34:41):
played Gasoul and old Rich together. That doesn't seem to
work against this small ball team or the shooting lineup.
But the Rockets, yeah, and you know the exorcis as
well as anybody, So you see what happens a lot
of times when when he's reluctant to match up um
and it's really gonna be interesting now. But because D'Antoni
is going, you know, even further in that direction with

(01:35:05):
Ryan Anderson playing the five more often now that name
is injured out for the playoffs, so you know, the
d'antonage reaction to the injury obviously doesn't want he once
another player, but he's like, you know, I sort of
like Ryan Anderson at the five because any chance to
go smaller to him as an opportunity, and so it'll
be really interesting to see want to pop of the

(01:35:26):
channels it he's reluctant a lot of times even to
play quiet before much less the five and then uh
and how his big handle it and Paul Gasol you know,
it just just alone is a fascinating matchup situation because
you go back to l A and and how Power
was the guy that D'Antoni wanted to play smaller, you know,
one to get to shoot threes and and move out

(01:35:46):
to the perimeter and Power didn't want to when they
were together with the Lakers. And even after the game
uh the other night, in Game four, Powers are already saying,
you know, basically in his postgame comments, you know, let's speak,
don't don't be rash and take me out. You know,
let's be careful. Let's make sure we stay with our strength,
uh and use the lineup that can do the best
for us at both ends. So it'll be really interesting

(01:36:07):
to see see how Power and LaMarcus deliver and how
much how much Poppy even even less them. You wrote
another article, Kevin Ding joins us Bleacher Report. His articles
are so well read by an NBA circles that Phil
Jackson even mentioned his article about Carmelo earlier than the
year on Twitter, So everybody in the league's reading them.
So should you follow on Twitter at Kevin Ding or

(01:36:29):
go to Bleach Report and check him out. Doug Gotlip
Show Fox Sports Radio. You can listen to us on
the I Heart app. We're on Sirius XM for the
first two hours of the show, as well as our
Fox Sports Radio affiliates. You wrote that the Lakers two
point oh does not necessarily mean that they're only going
to target Lonzo Ball. Give me your your uh, what

(01:36:50):
you've been able to ascertain as to what the pecking
order as of now is of the guys they would
want if they get the one, two or the three pick. Yeah,
I think there's a general consensus that they'll they'll just
they they're in love with lon with Alonzo Ball, you know,
because the local connection at U C, l A and
and you know the personality. But from what I'm told,

(01:37:11):
the he he is among their mix. But they're looking
at four guys for the possibility of that one, two
or three spot, and Alonso is one of them, but
False is another one obviously, and then there's Josh Jackson
from Kansass the Ford, who would give a different look.
And then sort of the under the radar guy that
that maybe people aren't aware of and would be surprised
if the Lakers have that high. Is the Aaron Fox

(01:37:33):
from Kentucky the point guard who who is a different
store point guard? Incredible athletes, incredibly fast, you know and
if you saw that in that sweet sixteen game against
Ball in u c l A. Where where Kentucky want
But they're really interested with with his passion for the game.
Uh that athletic ability, how that might you know, really
bring their their whole operation to to a different level athletically.

(01:37:58):
Um so those four guys are the and they're really
most considering if they're able to keep that top three pick.
And we'll find out next week in the draft lottery.
If you had a guest based upon the people you know,
and you've covered the Clippers for a living, what what
do you think they end up doing this offseason? They're
they're really in a buying duck. You know. People say, well,
it's stale, they got to blow it up. You know, yes,

(01:38:20):
it's stale, but they the option for blowing it up
means that they go from being a good team to
being irrelevant again. Uh, they have no means to get
better except to bring the band back. You mean, if
they let Chris Paul or Blake Griffin walk away, or
if those guys want to walk away, there's no means
to replacing them. I mean, so if they want to
change something up, they have to sign those guys and

(01:38:41):
then try to make a deal in the future by
moving one of them. Even DeAndre Jordan's you know, he
has a player option a year from now, so you
can't just up and trade him because where it is
going to trade for him once an assurance that he'll stay.
So they're really hamstrung, really limited by what they can
do moving parts around. It's kind of a shame that,
you know, they never became him as good as we
wanted them to be. But the option is being bad.

(01:39:04):
That's not good. Yeah, that's that's not particularly good option. Um,
we were we were pointing out that the irony of
Draymond Green calling somebody else dirty for something that he
perceives as being dirty. That Kelly Olynics set in the
screen on Kelly Ubre Ubrey jumping jumping out him. Afterwards,
Ubre gain't suspended for game four. Um, how how do

(01:39:29):
you believe Kelly olynk is viewed in regards to being
dirty in the NBA? Yeah? That well, the Kevin Love
incident from from a couple of years ago is not
one that players forget. I mean when you everybody's watching
it at this time of year, especially um, when a
team has a chance to win a championship, and when
a guy loses the chance to play, you know, at

(01:39:51):
that level, Uh, everybody really notices. I mean, and there's
no question there's a stigma there when Olynic sort of
you know, pulled on on having Love shoulder there a
couple of years ago and and basically knocked him out
for the playoffs. So everything he's done since then is
going to be magnified by that. And you know, Draymond,
you know, you can say what you want about him

(01:40:12):
and say he's dirty himself, but you know he's honest
about what he really thinks. And uh, and so in
his own mind, you know, he's playing to the edge.
But when he sees somebody else doing something that's that's
over the edge, you know you can count on him
to bring it up. And that's the that's the fun
of him is that he won't hold back and he hasn't.

(01:40:33):
Best guess Steve Kerr does he coach again this year?
I really don't think he will. I think I think
they're gonna try to write it out with Mike Brown
and and that team is sort of self operational at
this point and hugely self motivated. I think they'll be
fine without him. I tend to go I don't know
if they'll be fine without him, but I think it's
really you'd be really hard. I think they'll be they'll

(01:40:54):
be fine. I don't know if they'll be spectacular, and
they may need to be spectacular without him. Actually was
it was a better choice of words than I thought was. Hey, Kevin,
love your work. Uh like having you on even more
and really appreciate you spend some time with this year
on Fox Sports Radio all it's Kevin Ding from the
Bleacher from the from Bleacher Report. I would encourage you

(01:41:14):
as there's a well tuned in guy as far as
what's going on in the association Peyton Mann and getting
something done that probably should have already been done. But
will it be awkward in any way? Find out if
we find out what's trending. If you missed any of

(01:41:35):
the dug Out Labs show, it's not over yet, like
oh it's over now, it's not over. Yeah, But if
you missed any of our show. Download the podcast anywhere
you get podcasts iTunes and make sure you'd not only subscribe,
but rate us. Like us and like that Uber driver
I had last night, do Do Do Do Do Do do? Um?

(01:41:58):
I have this thought about Gordon Award, who last night
got sent off in Utah in Um. I think what
they called bleacher creature fashion. Have you ever been to
Yankee you guys, ever been a Yankee stadium? So the
bleacher creatures are in right field. That comes as the
bleacher creatures, right. They put the bleachers out there, and
the start of every game, the Yankees are out in
the field and they kind of go around um, they

(01:42:19):
go around the diamond and they call out every player
and then they call out the manager right, like Derek
Jeetah Derek Cheetah right, and Getter would tip his cap.
I know Geeter doesn't play for the Yankees anymore. Anyway,
they go third to short to second to first or
maybe they go with left field the center and then
they work all the way around and everybody tips their

(01:42:40):
caps and they go crazy, and then they go you know, Joe,
Joe Rod and then Joe Geordy comes out cap to
the bleacher creatures. Right. That's what they did too. Gordon
Hayward last night after the Jazz lost at home to
the Golden State Wars, he was walking off and they
were going Gordon Heyward, Um, there is an assumption in
the NBA that he'll look at one team specifically, and

(01:43:04):
I think there's a potential downside to it. I'll tell
you what that is after we get to the press.
The press. Dan Buyer joins us, he's got let's see
here what we got in the script. Here we got one,
we got a lot. Doug got seven stories. Let's see

(01:43:25):
if you get through all of them, all right, Let's
start off with number one. The Colts today announced they
are going to unveil a statue of quarterback Peyton Manning
outside of Lucas Soil Stadium on Saturday, October seven. That
even more, Doug, the next day, they will retire Manning's
number eighteen during their game against the San Francisco forty
Niners at Lucas Soil Stadium. It has to be weird, though,

(01:43:45):
to have a statue of you while you're like still
living a right, Like there's a real person there. I
don't know, but obviously he's the He's the greatest living
cold quarterback, isn't he? Yes? And what's interesting as he
becomes the first Indianapolis cult to have his jersey retired
by the Colts franchise. All the other ones were all

(01:44:07):
Baltimore Colts. Uh yeah are they? You know would be
really funny was if they created the statue, sent it
to Baltimore, and then went and got like a Mayflower
cruck in the middle of the night they treated out
the Mayflower truck, leaving Baltimore, driving in Annapolis and opening
it up on Saturday. What's the that was a that
was a kick him in the nuts line? Um? What's
the date? October seventh? Of the game is October eight,

(01:44:31):
the Sunday against the forty Mans. But the statue will
be unveiled the day before. Kind of a weird day, right,
kind of a weird data, like a weird team to unveil.
I guess the weather will be nice. But the Niners sure,
they have a really easy schedule. I'll just when you
play on homecoming, right, we play on homecome. It's a
homecoming game, the homecoming game. Listen to the Coult schedule

(01:44:52):
rams on the road, which we'll see what the rams are.
But like Jared goff Scaria, if you're Andrew Luck, No,
Arizona home, Arizonas jumped the Shark, Cleveland at home at
Seattle always difficult. That's a Sunday night game. San Francisco
at home at Tennessee, Jacksonville at home. Like, that's a
really soft schedule for the Colts. They could have a

(01:45:13):
good record out of the shoot. Well, it's it's very
interesting that you say that, Doug, because we're gonna keep
it in the NFL because according to Bravada, the over
under totals are out. The Colts over under total for
the regular season nine wins. I would take the over
look at they have Denver, but they have Denver at home.
Um of you know of the difficult road games outside

(01:45:36):
of their division. Yes, they play Baltimore on the road,
but that's not untill late in the year. We don't
know what Baltimore looked like. You get to week sixteen,
who knows, Um, San Francisco, that's a dub like the
they cross over with the NFC West and the only
tough road game, really tough is Seattle they have on
the road, but the other they have Arizona and Niners

(01:45:57):
at home, Like I would take the over there for India,
go ahead, that's all right. I was also gonna say
they'll they're gonna have a recording device that that an
audio device that's gonna just have them say oh maha
over and over in that station, and maybe a Papa
John's commercial here and there. I'm speaking of over under totals.
The Patriots have their win total at twelve and a

(01:46:18):
half for the upcoming season. That's the highest for any
team in the last ten years. Of course, the Patriots
went fourteen into this past year and then ended up
winning Super Bowl fifty one. What would you bet, uh,
I think it's difficult to go back to back. I
would bet the under. It's way too high. Can thirteen
and three? I mean, they're there are times that's a
lot to ask. And I know that one of the

(01:46:40):
losses was without Brady, so they could have gone fifteen
and one. But I just think you gotta take the
odds and go under. Here's the two thousand and fourteen
and two, two thousand, eleven, thirteen and three, two thousand, twelve,
twelve and four, twelve and four twelve and four twelve
and four fourteen and two, Like they haven't. Uh, they
haven't won you were than twelve games since two thousand

(01:47:03):
and nine. That was Brady coming back off of the knee.
They lost in the wild card. The year before that
was uh, that was when they won ten. The year
before that was the Matt Castle here. By the way,
everybody says Matt Castle he won eleven games with the
New England Patriots. People forget that was the New England
Patriot team that went eighteen and one the year before,

(01:47:23):
and they went eleven and five against the soft schedule.
So the drop off of sixteen wins in the regular
season to eleven is like if the drop off of
you took over a twelve win Patriot team and you
won seven, right, s, It's a massive drop off that
no people forget how sick those Patriots teams are. Um,
I hate doing this because you never know who's healthy,

(01:47:44):
But come on, I want to do it because it's
the Patriots and it's the highest win total ever. Chiefs
at home, come on, right, Saints on the road. Uh,
Saints have no defense at all. I know they keep
trying to fix things. Houston at Houston has to go
to New England again. You know that's a loss before
they ever get on the plane. Houston Laws, Houston Laws

(01:48:08):
at home to Jacoby Brissette last year, like like who
they're running triple option, they run in beer, Caroline at home.
People forget Cam Newton had shoulder surgery and Carolina was
bad last year. Tamp on the road, Jets in the road,
Atlanta at home, Rams at home. They go to Denver, Wow,
and to Pittsburgh. Dude, give me the over all I

(01:48:31):
have to do. I win thirteen games and Gronk didn't
play half of last year, and I end my season
with Buffalo and New York. What will be interesting is
if they have home field advantage and you got the
Jets last game of the year. They hate the Jets.
The Jets are horrible, but do they want remember the
second if they don't play Tom Brady, they're throwing Jimmy
Garoppolo out there. Hit the second best quarterback is probably

(01:48:53):
the best second best quarterback in that division. Yeah, Browns
have went bill of a four and a half, So
if Belichick wanted to know that, those are the lowest
of any of the teams. According to Bravada, Jumping to
the NBA Doug Raptors GM as saw you. Jerry says
that the team wants free agent to be Kyle Lowry
to be in Toronto in his future. Lowry plans to

(01:49:15):
opt out of his contract to be a free agent
this summer. But Jerry also talking today about that future
of the Raptors after that performance. We need a cultural
reset here, you know, like we need to figure it out. Yeah,
there's been some success, but at the end of the day,
we were trying to win a championship here after being
swept by the Calves in four games, and we just

(01:49:35):
got her ask kicked and that didn't feel so good.
And if it felt good to you, then we don't
really want you here. Um my thing with Kyle Lowry
who shot his highest percentage from three of his career
average more points than at any other point in time
in his career and uh, you know, twenty two and
seven assists, like all of that is good, but they
were not better because of it. They just weren't. So

(01:49:58):
do I want Kyle Lowry beck? Yeah, but I'm I'm
not willing to to mortgage my future. When you say
we want a culture reset, that sounds great, But if
you resign your best player or your second best player
to Rosen be the other one to a max contract.
That's not really reset. That's not resetting your culture. That's
restating your culture. Some news from college basketball, the Missouri
Valley Conference has officially vited Valparaiso to join the league

(01:50:21):
starting July one. Valpo is gonna be the temph team
in the league, replacing Whichita State, which moved on from
the m VC to join the American Athletic Conference. That's Valpo, Indiana.
Ever been there? Yeah, it really is a drive. It's
kind of like a truck stop, right. Uh, it's somewhere
in between Chicago and like South Bend, Indiana. Obviously they

(01:50:43):
have one of the great shots in the history of
the sport. Price drew against Old miss in Oklahoma City
in But Valpo joining the Valley is weird. It's not
in the Missouri valut not well, they're in the conference now,
but it's not actually technically in the Missouri Alley. Um.
But like conference realignment, some conferences go up, others go down.

(01:51:05):
This is great for Valpo, bad for the Horizon, and
frankly kind of bad for the MBC Archer madness. Now
without Craton who left for the Big East, A few
years ago and now without which it does state quite
a different field. We'll wrap up with this Doug, a
thirty year old Colombian woman under one surgery last week
after swallowing seven thousand dollars as she was trying to

(01:51:26):
hide it from her husband because they were fighting. Okay,
In all, fifty seven bills were removed during surgery. The
other thirteen are just gonna have to come out naturally.
She was she was literally a pinionta for a while there, right,
like the the ultimate pinata where she if you would
have if you would, you wouldn't hit a woman with
a bat, but if you did, it would have popped out.

(01:51:48):
Maybe a pinionta wasn't the right. She's pooping dollar bills literally,
cash me inside? How about that? How did you cash
insid like cash me inside. I'm just gonna I'm just
gonna go out and limb here and say. That's not
a relationship. That makes it right, That's not one that
therapy can help. If you had to hide money from
your husband by swallowing seven thousand dollars, that's probably a

(01:52:08):
marriage that's not mentally. John Romo's swallowed bills. You just
didn't want to pay them the electric bill. You know,
here's one thing though, when you when you when they
come out, you erect him right when they come out
the backside. That's that's That's the only thing I can
think of worse than when somebody wants to eat your
food and you do this, lick your finger and stick

(01:52:30):
your finger in the food so nobody will touch it. Right,
You're like, oh, you want seven thousand dollars here you
go hont spending. You're like, uh, bag it out there
and pressed the press. Why Gordon Hayward might be cautious
about wearing Kelly Green. Next brought to you by True Car.

(01:52:52):
When you're ready to buy a new or used car
as a true Car to enjoy more confident car buying experience,
go to a True Car dot com ron most on
the ones and twos. My man veto mixing up the
what do you call it? Imaging? Imaging is the imaging
specialist Dan Buyer trying to figure out the wedding ring thing.

(01:53:12):
He's you know, you're new to getting married, when the
wedding ring, when the wedding ring feels weird to you?
Right when you've been married a long time, Like that's
really when you know you've been married a while. Is
when it feels weird when you don't have the wedding
ring right, yes, music, or it's weird when you've lost
two other wedding rings? Is that how many? Yeah? What

(01:53:34):
lost to house? To it? Who was more upset? You
at yourself or your wife? My wife wasn't upset at all,
Like yeah, she was like whatever the over running? Like
my first one, it lasted I don't know, ten eleven years.
Actually I thought I lost it and I had one
of those, uh I'm just those patagony like pullovers and
had this weird kind of like chest pocket and that's

(01:53:55):
where I thought I had put it, but it like
wedged itself in the corner like a gone and worked
out put it in the corner or whatever. And you
tell yourself like I would put in the same place
every time, and then you're like, who does that? Right?
You have to have serious O c D to put
it in the same place. I have a D D,
not O C D. I get all my letters confused anyway.
Um So when I the first time I lost, I

(01:54:16):
was kind of embarrassed by it, and I was like,
I think I lost winning. It's like I thought you
would have lost like five years ago, playing basketball, working
out whatever, and u um. Then I found it again,
then I lost it, and I actually believe that the
last time when I officially lost that wedding ring, it
wasn't my fault. I will take blame for things in

(01:54:38):
our mind, but I remember putting it down in a
home we were renting, and then it was gone, and
I kind of think when we moved, it got moved
and that's what happened. But who knows. So it had diamonds,
did you haven't engraved? I think I had the date
in it. I don't know if I had the date
in it, but like I know, August twelve, two thousand.
I don't need anybody to tell me the day I
got married, right the day I surrendered half my stuff.

(01:54:59):
I remember that. But it's Rambo says. I'm I'm telling you,
Ramo has been married as long longer than me, right,
eighteen years April tenth, corretulations to you and the missus. Um,
you can you can attest to this? Yes, I can
that you there. There's the first bit of time you're
like it's weird to have a ring, and then when

(01:55:20):
you don't have a ring, like I don't have a
ring on now. It's the space and time between when
you're when you thought you were gonna put it on
and you don't have it that you have that panicked.
Oh hell, I lost my wedding ring right, And you
can't You can't trace your steps. There's no like breadcrumbs
that lead you to the wedding ring. You have to like,
what did I do last What was my last night?

(01:55:42):
I really hope I paid that hooker? Right. That's the
talk about Ramo. It's not me. I would never. I
would never. I would never speaking of focus kidding um
so Gordon to Heyward got was serenaded when he walked
off the floor with the Utah Jazz. Look. I think
the Utah Jazz are magnificently coach. I was really impressed

(01:56:04):
by Quinn Snyder and the things he does to put
his team in position for success. I remember they didn't
have George Hill in three of these games. Not they
would have won the series, but I think they would
have been more competitive. Plus, like, this is a really
young roster, and they supplemented the youth with some age
going out and getting Joe Johnson going out and getting
Boris and his du right and and going to getting

(01:56:26):
George Hill, so they got some youth and go get
some age and it it really helped them. But there's
this prevailing wisdom that Gordon Hayward is going to look
really hard at the Boston Celtics, which would be like,
he's a hybrid player. They need a three who could
play a little four who could handle me. And he's
a guy who he's played for Brad before, he'd be good.

(01:56:47):
And like, let's just be honest. If there's one team
that's had great white players before, it's the Boston Celtics, right,
like the two places you think of, Boston, Indie Indies
his home. But there is one thing too. As much
as we like to say they're grown men, there is
a certain amount of immaturity at times with these grown men.
Gordon Hayward playing for Brad Stevens, who coached him in
college at the professional level could be thought of by

(01:57:11):
some to be almost like kid playing for his dad. Right,
you ought to be coaches boy, and you'd be making
the most money and you would get attention. And you're
the white guy playing for the Boston Celtics in the NBA.
I don't know how that would work in the locker room.
It's not always about who has the best players. Generally
in the NBA, it is about who has the best players.

(01:57:32):
But then to get to be great, you have to
have that sort of chemistry. And I don't know if
the chemical makeup of an Isaiah Thomas, who has always
had kind of an us against the world. But Brad
really believes in me and he's taking his game to
the next level. Brad really believes in me, but he's
bringing in his boy, Gordon Hayward too, to compete with
me to be the best player on this team. There
could be a certain Lord of the Flies fighting over

(01:57:55):
the conk, sort of a he's not the kid of
the coach, but feel that what is the fastest. We'll
find out what happens in tonight's game, Houston taking on
San Antonio. Could this be the final home game of
the year for the San Antonio Spurs And will Greg
Pavovich get away from that too big guy lineup? Will

(01:58:15):
he play a smaller aligne to match up with Houston.
