Speaker 1 (00:00):
Boom on a to Genner Ramos. You got a boom
for us as well. Listen to the base on this
v KR idation. We are in for Doug Gottlie Beer
on Fox Sports Radio. Oh, Thanksgiving Week. You know what
I love about Thanksgiving Week is the Maui Invitational. I

(00:21):
really like. It's one of those things I do. I
love it. So we've got Wichita State Marquette action going
on right now, but there's something that's just a great
feel about it. I get that feeling of Thanksgiving Week.
A buddy of mine lives in Maui, and I see
on his Instagram page that he like this is one
of his favorite times because this is a big deal there.

(00:41):
Like a lot of the events will show up in
in Honolulu or on the island of Laho, but not
many go to Maui, and so this is a huge
event there. So they've got beer tense set up. I said,
they had ConA big wave and longboard set up. People
are drinking beers watching college basketball. I would gamble on
every single thing you could possibly gamble. I swear to
God I would everything. I'd gamble. I gamble on whether

(01:03):
or not a ref tripped the over under point, spreads,
you name it. What a good time in Maui. I
love the Maui invitation because it leads you right into Thanksgiving.
Then we've got the three NFL games, of course on Thursday.
This year's games Jonas, UM, Giants, Redskins kind of a
whatever on Thursday night. But Vikings line should be good,

(01:25):
charges Cowboys should be interesting. It sets up the whole
great week of sports, and of course Friday you've got
college football. But I gotta be honest, I'm really having
a difficult time putting the Monday in my rear view
mirror after last night's Falcon's victory over the Seahawks thirty
four to thirty one in Seattle, And really, what what

(01:46):
made me think? And as I sit here and it's
it's known I follow the Seahawks my whole life. I
don't want to sound like a Homer as we talked
about this, but last night's lost just really really bothered me.
It I really there is something that stuck with me
minutes after the game, hours after the game, even waking

(02:06):
up this morning. It's it's just not a good feeling.
And this is this is now the second time in
consecutive home games that the Seahawks have lost to what
I think is an average team in the NFC, And
these are games that the Seahawks had lost in the past.
And I just I'm trying to put my finger on

(02:26):
why it's bothering me so much? Okay, And and just
to peel back the curtain a little bit. As we
were talking before the show, you alluded to this, and
I said, surprise me on the air, Okay, Like, so
don't don't tell me why it's bothering you, because I'm
fascinated to know, because to me, that's just another game
last night. You really did. You didn't lose any ground
in the division the Rams lost this weekend. You're clearly

(02:46):
the two best teams in that division. Why this game?
Did this one bother you? Because it was one of
those games where there was you know, some turnovers, uh,
you know, a defensive touchdowns um mistake at the end
of the first half on on potentially having three points.
I mean, that's that's why I'm curious to see why
this one bothered you. Because they've had other losses. They

(03:07):
they've lost obviously a few times this year. So why
this one? This one bothered me? Because It signified something
to me that I didn't realize that that time was here,
and that is this team as zero margin of error,
that they won't work things out. And there are things
that have gone on in the past four or five
seasons with this Seahawks team that I don't want to

(03:28):
say Seahawks fans took for granted, but that's probably pretty fair.
How many Russell Wilson comebacks have we seen? How about
Monday Night magic? We even talked on the show yesterday
on the network about the fail mary that the Seahawks
had on Monday Night. How about the night a couple
of years ago and kJ Wright not the Calvin Johnson
fumble out of the back of the ends of another
controversial win. The Seahawks have come back before, they had

(03:52):
a great late win against Buffalo last year, Monday Night
magic seemed to be there, and last night, Jonas it
was on the age of happening. It was almost there
until Blair Walsh's field goal comes up short in the
final seconds, and it was that, along with everything else
in the game, and all that I had heard leading

(04:12):
up to the Monday Night game was how this Seahawks
team is really gonna miss Richard Sherman. How Cam Chancellor
isn't gonna be there. This defense is done, This team
is done. It is over for the Seahawks in Vegas
said as much as well. The Seahawks open as a
two and a half point favorite. By the time kickoff
came around, Atlanta was favored by a point. And there
there were a lot of people who were really like

(04:34):
the Falcons in this game, and I felt it was
an opportunity for the Seahawks to prove them wrong. All right,
So let's let's go ahead and dive into this right here.
Let's let's do a This is kind of going to
the doctor. We're gonna see what symptoms you have, and
we're gonna go ahead and diagnose this and see what
really is bothering you. Okay, So clearly it bothers you
from from a fans standpoint, although you're not fanatical and
you don't let it depress your entire week like some

(04:54):
fans that are listening right now in Fox Sports Radio.
And if that's you, that's fine. Um okay, So so
clearly that others you did you have fantasy football implications? No? Okay,
So that that will cross Julio Jones on my team. Okay,
so that yeah, so that's actually I was down by
there was no way I was going to be able
to come back and win. Did you go to the
betting window at all during that game or before I picked?

(05:15):
I picked the Seahawks. I did pick the Seahawks in
a in a pool that I'm in. Okay, so that
probably burned you a little bit, you know. Yeah, but
was it a make or break game for the pool? Um? No,
not not make or break. Not make or break, but
it really could have helped. What did you have for
dinner or what were you dining on while you were
watching the game. I did have some leftover Nashville chicken,

(05:37):
uh strips of chicken tenders? Were they cooked to your liking?
Did a taste okay? Perfect? My wife did a great job.
How cold was the mountain dew? Mountaindew was fresh number one?
And um gosh, didn't even have a mountain dew last night.
That may have is we've done it. We do it
out of applause, we have done it. Yeah, it was

(06:00):
the mountain dew. And they listen, I get it, Dado, look,
I get it like I get I get the shakes
I get the shakes if I go twenty minutes without
doing a shot of vodka. So I understand, listen, and
that's just some of us have different tastes. And and
I don't know why you're laughing, sir. It's not that funny.
Uh So the Mountain Dew, I think was the really
problem with this. Their margin of error with or without
the Mountain Dew is gone like this, Like the Falcons

(06:22):
weren't even that good last night. That's the thing that
bothers me as I've watched this Atlanta team as well.
The Seahawks on the opening kickoff allowed Atlanta to give
the ball at midfield. The next possession, Russell Wilson has
picked off and the balls returned to the Seahawks thirty
yard line, so another short field for Atlanta. The Seahawks
then on Atlanta's next score and ends up being a

(06:44):
fumble by Russell Wilson, allowing the Falcons to pick it
up and score. It wasn't like that. They really missed
Cam Chancellor and really missed Richard Sherman last night. The
defense was all right. The problem was they couldn't get
off the field on third down and they didn't get
to Matt Ryan, they had just one sack, which was
actually right at the two minute warning at the end
of the game, which allowed them to get the ball

(07:05):
back and try to score and kick a field goal.
Their time management at the end just wasn't right yet
a minute fifty five and now you didn't have any
time outs but about a minute forty or so to
get the ball into field goal range and you could
only get a fifty one yard or That was an
issue last night. The mistakes that they made the fake
field goal, Okay, this is yeah, here we go. I'm

(07:26):
sorry to go off of the fake field goal at
the time seemed crazy. It seemed ridiculous. You you don't
want to give the team momentum coming into the second half,
and the Seahawks were getting the ball in the second half,
so you would have been down four at the time
and had the football to maybe come back and take
the lead at the in the opening part of the

(07:47):
second half. The issue with the field goals, I look
back on it. It was blocked except for one spot,
and that was Grady Jarrett. If Grady Jarrett doesn't make
his move along the defensive line. Luke Wilson scores a
touchdown on that play and the game doesn't come down
to that field goal because it's played out differently. It's
not well, they could have used those three points then

(08:09):
at Lanta goes for it on fourth and one at
the at the inch line that they had instead of
kicking the field goal to go up two scores. That
that that's taken out of the equation at that time.
The Seahawks would still have that deficit. But the fake
field goal was a desperate move, and the Seahawks only
make desperate moves when they are needed. Desperate times call

(08:29):
for desperate measures, and that's what we saw last night.
And Jonas that think that is the true meaning. They
ran a fake field goal in the NFC Championship game
against the Packers a few years ago in around sixteen
nothing and needed to get some get some points in
that game. They don't make You didn't need to make
desperate moves when you had a great defense. You didn't
need to make desperate moves when you knew that your
offense could pull you through. They made desperate moves last night,

(08:52):
and they look like a desperate team, and if they
knew it, I think that's what really bothers well, Dan,
we've got three hours to event and and let you
do so we are here for you to try and monitor.
By the way, Grady, wasn't that the name of the
make belief town in uh doc Hollywood? That that movie? Doc?
Did you confirm that it was great? It was a
Grady Texas guy. I can confirm that, but I'm not sure. Okay,

(09:15):
all right, good stuff there by John who's always knows
where he's going and he's never on the fence. That
good stuff by John Rob. I can confirm this that

a potential playoff run for his team. That's next year

here as well on a b KR edition on the

(09:58):
Doug Gottlib Show here on Sports Radio. That Jacksonville Jaguars
are rolling this season. They now got a date with
the Orizonal Cardinals coming up on Sunday. As Jacksonville is
seven and three. Our latest guest here on Fox Sports
Radio became the third Jaguar enfranchise history to start at
least one hundred and fifty games, also as five receiving touchdowns,
the second most since his Pro Bowl season in Marcedes

(10:21):
Lewis Jones this year on Fox Sports Radio. Good afternoon, Marcedes.
How you doing? I'm doing well. What's going on? Let's
let's start here. Is this the most fun you've had
during your what twelve seasons in Jacksonville? I mean, you
were there early when there was some success, You're there
during the downtimes. Now the upswing is there. Is this
the most fun you've had so far in your career
in that Jaguars uniform? Yeah? Yeah, I think, you know,

(10:45):
as far as back as that to remember, I think
this is uh the best time I've had playing ball,
you know, what's that defense like to go against in
training camping in practice? Well, definitely challenging. I think that
was one of the biggest differences this year. You know,
his camp was actually a dog fight every single day.
We knew that, you know. By doing that and by

(11:09):
going against them every day, you know, we we've created
an environment that's been really competitive and uh, definitely, you
know rolling over into Sunday. Have you seen like over
these last couple of years. I mean, I mean, really,
you guys have had added pieces on defense, But was
there a point where you could see in practice going
up against them, that hey, this crew is something special.

(11:30):
Do you do you ever remember an instance like that? Uh,
not not a particular instance. I just think that, you know,
every day it was just crewing, right, and it was
it was like how camp. How you would think about it,
Like if somebody, you know, it's never seen an NFL
game but heard about Channing camp, uh and had all
these horror stories about it. I think that was exactly

(11:53):
how it was, you know, I mean it was long days,
short nights with the grind was real. You know, it
was no, it will make a punk out of you
if you let it, you know, and I think it
was good for the team. Challenge does put us in
the right mindstate for what this year was gonna Uh,
this year was gonna be so definitely worked out for

(12:15):
us and we're just looking at it. You know, is
that a Dug Moron thing Marcedes Lewis joining us here
on Fox Sports Radio tied in for the Jaguars or
is it a Tom Coughlin thing? What has been different
about this year? I think it's to make sure of
both I think you know, they both share share similar
ideas on you know, how they think a football teams
should be ran, and I think that they've been doing

(12:37):
a good job of getting the point across. Uh. You know,
obviously you know, I don't sit in meetings with him,
but UM, it seems like they're pretty collaborative on, you know,
what they expect out of us and what they expect
for us to be getting done during during the season. Um,
from a national standpoint, a Blake boardles your quarterback gets
a lot of a lot of people give them a

(12:57):
hard time and criticize his play and they like to
call him out. And that's just the way the NFL
is with social media. How is he different with you guys,
and how is he reacted to some of the criticism
that he's faced. Blake is one of the coolest dudes
that I know. You know, he's not with it by anything,
and um, you know, he goes out there to try
to be the best he can be every single day,

(13:18):
and that's all you can ask. Um, whether you're doing
bad or doing good, people are always gonna have things
to say. And I was gonna try to pick holes
in your game, but that's our critics support and that's
what they do, right. So at the end of the day,
we still got to go out there and we we
have to get in between the lines and do our job.
As long as he's going out there and giving us
all and bringing his best every weekend, that's all we

(13:39):
can ask for. Martadies Lewis of the Jacksonville Jaguars joining
us as that mentioned, joining Brad Meester and Jimmy Smith,
is only the third Jaguar to start at least a
hundred and fifty games. I know you're an l A guy,
but are you know what Jacksonville guy for being there
as long as you have is it? How how do
you do? How do you view yourself? Now? I mean
you went to school, you're at u C. L A.

(14:00):
You're from southern California. But this is this is twelve
years in Jacksonville. As I mentioned, people don't even remember
the time that the Jaguars were actually in the playoffs.
You were on that team in two thousand seven. Are
you not with Jacksonville Gey instead of an l A guy? Uh?
Not really, because in Jacksonville, I don't really go nowhere.
You know, normally, I'm normally at work or off my feet.

(14:22):
I don't really get out in the city too much.
Maybe go to the movies and or go to dinner
or whatever. But other than that, I don't really do
too much. I just try to you know. I feel like,
you know, our job is it is demanding enough on
our bodies that you know, if I'm if I'm out
and doing a bunch of stuff in the city other

(14:43):
than you know, giving back on him on my off day,
then it's gonna it's gonna just be counterproductive. So I
just try to stay off my feet as much as possible.
That is the nicest way to say. There's nothing to
do in Jacksonville. Is nice, but you gotta stay there,
you know, you gotta play your entire year. You've been
there your whole career, so you know how it works. Marcedes.
Let me ask you this though, You're you're getting to

(15:04):
a point to where nowadays when guys are talking about
the future in the next phase of their life and
all that. Obviously you're focused on football, but have you
sort of started to think about what you want to
do next and what the plan is after the NFL career? Uh? Well,
you know, initially I just wanna I want to travel
first of all, go see the world for about a
year and just relaxed, decompressed. Um, you know, I'm doing

(15:29):
a little bit of stuff for NFL Network, Uh you know,
and they're they're interested in me, so I might look
to the analysts. It just depends. You know, I have
other business endeavors that I'm that I'm doing and that
are successful. So you know, I have something that you know,
I'll be able to get into when I'm ready to
do it. How does that make it that important this year?

(15:54):
How much does that play into you enjoying the season
so much knowing that, hey, there's stuff that's gonna be
down the line that you want to do that really
may not be that far off say that again, how
important is this with the stuff that you want to
do in the future. I guess does that make this
season that much more special? Because you know, hey, this
is your number twelve. You don't know how long you're

(16:14):
gonna be playing. There is stuff that you want to
do on the on the horizon that you've got in
front of you. But right now you're in the midst
of a team that's seven and three. How much does
does that play in knowing that your career that you know,
you don't know how many years you're gonna play in
the NFL. Yeah, for sure, I think you know, I'm
living in the moment right now. You know. Obviously I've

(16:35):
been here when you know, we were doing pretty good
and then obviously she headed downfall and now we've called
ourselves back out of that. And so it's been you know,
amazing to be a part of it, uh and being
integral piece, you know, not just a guy that's just
happy to be here and happy to be wearing a jersey.
It's a blessing, always been a privilege for me. Um

(16:55):
you know, twelve years and thirty three years old, named
the captain, still playing at a very high level, Um,
you know, and I still have, you know, some football
left in me. So it's just good that you know
I'm at this point. Uh and we're doing really well. Um,
you know, it keeps me looking forward to the future.
Marcedes Lewis with us year before I let you go.
I gotta I gotta find this out. This is one

(17:16):
of my favorite things to ask. So you've been in
the NFL a long time. If you had to rank
the top five trash talkers in your career that you
dealt with in the NFL, what are your top five?
And is Jalen Ramsey on that list? Uh? Jalen is young? Uh,
and he he's I don't really have to deal with
him like that. I know he gets under everybody else,

(17:38):
but he's probably not on my list because that's my guy. So. Um,
but that that's a that's a good question. I mean
I feel like I have I had to have time
to really think about that. Um mm hmm. Maybe Bob
Sanders uh and read Ray Lewis, Uh, Joey Porter. Um,

(18:12):
that's all I can think of. That's a good list.
That's that. That's amazing. Marcedes Lewis of the Jacksonville Jaguars
joining us before we let you go. Do you guys
doing any standing watching scoreboard, watching seeing what New England,
seeing what Pittsburgh has done, or or not? I mean,
you you watch it when they're on TV. You don't
really go looking for it, you know what I mean.
If we we catch it after one of our games something,

(18:34):
we'll watch it. But uh, we're so focused on what
we have to do. Uh, We're we're literally controlling our destiny, right,
and so we could just focus in on east game,
have a great attention to detail. We'll live with results.
Five touchdowns already the season, the second most in his
career twelve years with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Marcedes Lewis, Hey,

(18:57):
good luck the rest of the season and we'll catch
up when you guys are in the playoffs. How about that?
Marcedes Lewis of the Jacksonville Jaguars. He's been in the
league a long time. Man. They have been productive too.
I mean, he's he's had a good career and he's
been with one team his entire time. There's not a
lot of players that have been that long with one team.
He has been there as as we touched on when
they were in the playoffs, David Gerrard as his quarterback.

(19:20):
He was there, he was a part of that team.
To be in the NFL twelve years, To be in
the NFL on one team for twelve years is a
whole different story that stuff like that is usually reserved
for quarterbacks and left tackles and at the tight end position.
Quite a great accomplishment for Marcedes. It's it's funny. I
was thinking about this a couple of weeks ago into
Martellis Bennett stuff happened, and he left Green Bay and

(19:42):
then went to New England, and you start going down
like the list of the great tight ends, and you
talk about you know, Tony Gonzalez, UM, gronk, Antonio Gates, um,
you know Jason Witten, like all the guys that are
sort of in and around this era, and outside of Gonzalez,
they all stayed with one team, which goes to show

(20:02):
you maybe what a pain in the ass Martellis been.
It is that he's been on team number six in
like eight or nine years. Like, come on, man, this
is not the norm. That's not normal behavior and normal
career movement from Martellis and Marcedes. Lewis didn't say he
wanted to retire in the middle of the season. I
bring up the scoreboard watching because Jonas it is significant.

(20:23):
Remember Jacksonville has that win against Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh earlier
this season, Jacksonville is seven and three. The Steelers are
eight and two with the game against the Patriots coming up.
Not saying that that's a given, but the fact is
is Jacksonville for their remaining schedule, They've got Arizona this week,
home against the Colts, home against the Seahawks, home against
the Texans, then at San Francisco and at Tennessee. Every

(20:47):
single one of those games winnable games. And so when
you look at how the landscape is changing, you would
think that maybe Pittsburgh would pick up a loss somewhere
down the line, specifically maybe that New England game. But
if they end up in a tie with Pittsburgh, it's
the Jaguars getting the two seed and the buy in
the in the a f C playoffs. That's huge. I
was talking with the pay and Who Cost the Better

(21:08):
Board podcast. He's an NFL analyst Professional Sports Better and
he was telling me that there are sharp betters out there,
professionals who are still putting money on Jacksonville to win
the Super Bowl. That that they have every ingredient, everything
you could possibly want in a playoff team, run the ball,
play defense. The biggest issue is Blake Bortles. He's hands

(21:30):
down the biggest liability to any playoff team in the NFL,
and so they're nervous about it. They don't feel all
that comfortable with Jacksonville making a legitimate Super Bowl run.
But because I'm talented, they are everywhere else, They're still
getting money and people are still buying into him. Because
the Bordles can just string together to three games in
a row, this team could be in the super Bowl,
like legitimately could be in the super Bowl. When you

(21:52):
look at what these teams have done at least the
top of the a f C, and you look at
that win against against the Steelers on the road, that
could be one that's one of the most impressive. That
could be one of the most impressive wins that any
team has had the season. You could put it up
there with the Chiefs of victory against the Patriots to
open up the season. But there are a lot of
a lot of great things to look ahead for the

(22:13):
Jacksonville Jaguars and that possibility of maybe even getting a
first run by is definitely on the table. Pittsburgh schedule
is pretty easy, but they've got that game against the
Patriots that could be the bugaboo. Dan Buyer Jonas knocks
in for Doug Gottlieb here on Fox Sports Radio. Uh,
you can get me on Twitter at the Jonas Knocks Up.
Next though, we're gonna tell you about one of the

(22:33):
more impressive things going on in the world of sports.
That's coming up next. But for all the latest from
around the world of sports, well who it is as
a glowing kron Good afternoon, Dan and Jonas will begin
with a couple of items involving surgery, one negative, the

(22:55):
other more positive and college basketball. Missouri announced today that
Michael Porter Jr. Considered one of the top incoming freshmen
in the country, will undergo back surgery today and is
likely to miss the rest of the season. The more
positive surgery news comes out of baseball. The New York
Yankees have just announced the outfielder Aaron Judge underwent arthroscopic

(23:16):
surgery on his left shoulder yesterday in Los Angeles. He's
expected have completed his recovery before the start of spring training.
In fact, here's how it sounded yesterday as Judge was
wheeled into the operating room. All rise, there comes the Judge.
I'm still in demand even during the offseason, Susan Finally

(23:38):
guys in the National Football League. It didn't exactly need confirming,
per se, because the team is eight and two and
they're on a six game winning streak. But for what
it's worth, Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer confirmed today
that case Keenan will remain the starting quarterback for Thursday's
game against the Detroit Lions. Of course, with Teddy Bridgewater
back on the active roster Danna Johns, they they need

(24:00):
to make a change. By the way, it was that
Cedar Sinai Radio network on the car always a credit.
Absolutely thanks Isaac, appreciate that. I could just imagine everybody
rising as eron Judge goes in for surgery. I just
got a tweet here from Kayak Fish actually, Mike, saying
you had to get a shot in at Jacksonville, didn't you.

(24:23):
There's great beaches, boating, golf, restaurants, bars, shopping. What are
you looking for? Okay, take out great beaches and maybe
boating for a landlocked place. Every other city in the
country has exactly restaurants, bars, shopping. Okay. I mean I've
been to Jacksonville about three or four times, and I

(24:46):
stayed at a nice resort where there was golf, and
I went to a Chili's that was like just down
the road from the hotel about three or four times.
Just had some difficulty finding a lot of things to
do in terms of a nightlife scene. That's all. Yeah,
I got one for you. How about I'm looking for
a place that doesn't have humidity and mosquitoes the size
of street cones. That's what I would like, So that

(25:07):
me personally, that's what I'm looking for. So you know,
the beaches are great, but I don't want to I
don't want to walk out of there looking like a
golf course because I've got so many holes in me
from the mosquitoes size of buick Stan. It's not right.
It's not okay. I've been to have been to a
few of the Georgia Florida matchups, so there was a
great atmosphere there. Listen, I'm just Jacksonville. Don't take it personally.

(25:27):
We're just having fun with Mercedes. I love you. Jacksonville.
Dan Buyer, that's another story. I can't speak for him.
That's out of line. The Boston Celtics have been in
line winners of sixteen in a row. By the way,
this is a b k R edition of the Gottleib
Show here on Fox Sports Radio. That's Johnny Ramos, He's
Jonas Knocks. I'm Dan Buyer in for Doug today. The
Boston Celtics winners of now their last sixteen after topping
the Dallas Mavericks last night one ten to one oh two.

(25:50):
Jonas in overtime. Kyrie Irving magnificent again with forty seven points.
They are damn man like. I was trying had to
think about this because everyone, you know, a lot of
people freaked out when Gordon Hayrod went down and and
understandably so. And their schedule. They've beaten good teams, but
it hasn't you know. There's they've beaten a lot of
bad teams as well too during the stretch. But what

(26:12):
they've like every time they play, they seem to get
better and better and better. And it's why after the
trade was made, everyone made a big deal about, oh
my god, they traded away all the guys that produced
an Eastern Conference Finals birth last year, you traded away
all these players. What are you doing? That team last
year had reached its potential. That was the best they

(26:34):
were ever gonna be under the way it was currently assembled.
And that's just a fact. You saw the best they
could possibly do under those circumstances. So they retooled. They
landed on a couple of draft picks. Uh, they acquired
an extra draft pick. They still got the guy they
wanted in Jalen and still got the guy they wanted
in Jayson Tatum. Jalen Brown made a huge jump in

(26:56):
year two, and Kyrie Irving has been fantastic and off
the bench, you still have quality players. So a lot
of people were sort of, you know, shocked and taken
back by man. You guys were a couple of games
away from the NBA Finals. Why did you trade all
these guys away? Why did you get rid of your
current roster? Because they realized that they had peaked. And

(27:16):
I think so many times in sports, teams get close
and they go, you know what, I know, we got close,
So let's keep it all together and and let's start,
you know, let's let's make another run. At it. I e.
The Arizona Cardinals a couple of years ago, We're in
the NFC Championship game, got buried and then pretty much
kept the same team together and guess what happened. They've
declined ever since. So credit to Danny Ange and the

(27:37):
Celtics were seeing the writing on the lawn. What I
think is interesting is when you look at this sixteen
game win streak, which is happening in the month of November,
there was so much season still to go. But the
fact is is this isn't the Cavaliers or a Warriors
team doing this where you could make the argument this
team is peaking. This is still so fresh with what

(27:58):
Boston has done that I think it's different. Last year,
we were searching for storylines to find in the NBA.
We're trying to find different things to talk about, and
Kevin Durant's returned to Oklahoma City was one of the
big things. But it was a pretty much a foregone
conclusion that we were going to get Calves Warriors for
the third straight year, and we needed drama last year,
then next debacle, all that stuff, absolutely, but this is

(28:21):
this is different than Golden State rieling off sixteen. This
is different than the Cavaliers rieling off sixteen because of
everything that you said, and because it is so early
and you wondered if there was going to be an
adjustment time. Heck, the Warriors last year, remember they were
blown out opening night against the San Antonio Spurs and
Kevin Durant's first game. Celtics lose two games and haven't

(28:42):
lost since to open the season. And that that's what
is different to me. Where I don't want to because
I don't want to read too much into what's happening
in November and December to guess what's gonna happen in April,
May and June. But this is different to me just
for the fact of Heck, the Kyrie trade was a
late trade that happened. It wasn't like it just happened
right after the NBA Finals and the the week of

(29:04):
the draft that they were able to make a swap.
This was a late trade. And to see how easy
it is transition without Gordon Hayward, who was going to
be the number two guy. So now you have l
Horford moving up in a spot of maybe being the
number two option and Jalen Brown moving up to number three.
To see how seamless this is gone is scary for
the NBA as well, because Brad Stevens, no doubt is

(29:27):
one of the top coaches in the NBA and now
when you give them the pieces to work with, this
is gonna be very very I felt that times Jonas
that talent I was able to override what the Celtics
were doing, even though, like bred stevens Is coaching could
only do so much. And now you see what they've
done in eighteen games and in the last sixteen, it
shapes the East completely different and and just sets it

(29:50):
up so intriguing for the rest of the Eastern Conference
and and how this goes, because I don't think that
it's just oh, this is six months away from the
NBA playoffs. No, this is a big deal. Well, it's
hard to hit home runs in consecutive consecutively in sports,
if you're if you're running a team, it's hard to
hit home runs. Like Tom Brady was a home run
pick for the Patriots. But if you go back and
look at that draft class, it was awful, Like New
England was one of eight or whatever it was. You know,

(30:12):
the Raiders, oh Man home run draft class a couple
of years ago when they got Khalil Mack and Derek Carr. Yeah,
what have they done since? You know, like they they've
I mean a lot of these defensive backs that they've drafted,
they were one of the worst defenses in the league,
worst secondaries in the league. So it's hard to hit
consecutive home runs in the NBA. The only other team
that hit consecutive home runs like this was the Warriors,
because it was controversial when they got rid of Mark Jackson.

(30:34):
You know, a lot of people said, what are you doing?
They started to show some signs of life here. They
brought in Steve Kerr that was a home run. Drafting
Steph Curry where they got him, that was a home run.
Draymond Green home run, Clay Thompson home run. Getting Kevin
Durant to work within that system was a home run.
Sean Livingston andre I Goodala, Like, they hit home run
after home run after home run, and they're paying the dividends.

(30:55):
The Celtics Brad Stevens home run, the Kyrie Trade home run,
Jalen Brown, Jason Tatum home run. Oh and by the way,
you don't even need to do a damn thing in
free agency next year because Gordon Hayward is going to
be healthy again. That's a home run. It's the only
other comparable to this, and it's in the same sport.
And the reality is those two home run hitters might

(31:17):
actually meet up in the finals, like that might actually happen.
So yeah, I think it's I think it's really it's impressive.
It's I think they're better than I thought or anybody
else thought. But the idea that everyone just assume that
that last year's team, you were so close, you know,
keep it together. All you need is to add a
piece or tweak a couple of things. They tweaked a
lot and it's paying off big time. These Celtics again,

(31:38):
a four game lead right now over the Raptors in
the Eastern Conference and them getting the number one seed
this year will be vastly different from a year ago.
As he touched on earlier, Dan Buyer Jonas knocks in
for Doug gottlieb here on Fox Sports Radio. You can
always listen to the show as well on the I
Heart Radio app here on FS and this BKR edition

there is a future Hall of Famer who has been
caught in the latest scandal in sports, and the details
are juicy. Well happen for you next year on fs
ARE it's a b KR edition. He's Jonas Knocks. I'm

(32:23):
Dan Buyer. John Ramos is here as well, getting a
set for a Thanksgiving coming up in a couple of
days in the National Football League, still trying to deal
Jonas with what happened last night in Seattle is the
falcon stop the Seahawks, and now the replay is being
shown on the NFL networks. Great to see again, though,
that's but this is this is a byproduct of having

(32:43):
to work with John Ramos. Okay, and it's not baseball season,
because if it was baseball season, we'd have a bunch
of crummy games up here. You think John was a
degenerate gambler betting on run lines, but he just he
loves baseball. And because there's not baseball on we've got
a deal with highlights ter this as difficult on Ramos
as possible. Ramos just rubbing it in our faces, like

(33:04):
it's like every time we come in here, it's like
an open casket. You know. John has got to remind us, Hey,
look at this, Look at Dan, reminder of your team lost? Terrible.
Why don't you turn on the channel where my cat dies? Yeah?
Next on the Kiddy Boon Network with True I can
find out what other people in your area paid for

(33:25):
the same car you're looking for, new or used? Is
it True Car to enjoy a more confident car buying experience?
What do you say? Guys? We play a game. This
is game time side on the Doug Gottlieb Show. Alrighty,
Ryan Music, our executive producer is in today. I'm not

(33:47):
a music guy. Oh we are, though, handling the game
time duties. Ryan. What game we got today? Well, let's see.
Let's go with a little it's news fake news, al right, guys,
real news or fake news. We'll start off with this.
Two time NBA champion Ray Allen has filed an emergency

(34:08):
motion in a Florida court to have charges of stocking
dropped because he was quote catfish does that real news
or is it fake news. I'm gonna say fake news
because I think he filed the papers to put an
injunction on Ezekiel Elliott six game bands. Oh man, that
would be I'm gonna say that's face. What do you think, John?
Oh gosh, this is just to be different because I

(34:30):
heard if we have differing opinions, that's like that works
in radio. So I'll just go different and I'll say
that this is real news. Oh, that is true. It
is real news. He filed an emergency motion to have
the charges dropped on his behalf, The paper said. The
person who accused him of stocking quote Coleman pretended to

(34:52):
be a number of attractive women interested in Ray Allen.
Ray believed he was speaking with these women and communicated
with them. The report goes on to say that he
was sending him pictures of his wife and his inside
the restaurant, that his wife phones. Pretty interesting stuff. There's
Jonas Ray Ray. You're married, pal. It doesn't matter whether
or not this guy catfish or not. You are married.

(35:12):
I don't know what they're the status of their relationship is,
but this isn't the second the first time Ray Allen
has been caught in something. Remember that that tweet he
sent out back in two thousand nine that was supposed
to be a d M, except he sent it out
to every one of his followers. Yeah, go with that
one up. Pretty pretty juicy stuff. That is a knee
buckler if you ask me. But at least it was
an icon and poly Dan What does what does Niven

(35:36):
Max say about this? Do you know who an even
Max area the show? Come on, let's go to Let's
go to a South Florida hotel room. We're meeting with Ray. Ray.
What about these girls that you've been meeting? Oh you
guys are gonna get married? Oh cool, Well, bad news.
We contacted him. It's a guy in Alabama, yeah, Ray?

(35:56):
So so what did she say she did for while
she was a Hawaiian tropic model? And and and you
show up and she works for cal Tran's like, it's
I love. Let's go meet at an empty park, yeah
you know that's like a public place. And there's like
a softball diamond in the back. So you're getting embarrassed

(36:17):
on national TV that you thought you were talking to
this girl and it was another guy in South Carolina
and there's a softball diamond in the background. That's your
fifteen minutes of fame. Thanks keV. How about the ikn
and Polly catfish story. That's still my favorite of all time,
one of my favorite sports related stories of all time.
The ik and and Polly. Remember the guy who broke

(36:38):
Gino Smith's job? I Can and Polly report came out
after people started doing some digging about him, that he
was caught in a catfish too. And what happened was
he was supposed to meet up at some house to
engage in a sexual act with with this woman. And
when he walked into the house, the woman wouldn't take
a blanket off her head. She had like a sheet

(36:59):
like a bed cheat on her head, and she refused
to take it off, and her voice sounded a little.
So somebody texted the woman who had her phone in
her hand, and the light lit up the blanket, and
I Can and PAULI saw that she had a beard
her in the face with its salted her. But her

(37:19):
is him? Now you imagine that. I thought maybe it
was just a fetish of putting the sheet. No, that's
not the case. Alright, guys, here we go number two.
Here real news are fake news. Cincinnati Reds Hall of
Famer Joe Morgan sent a letter to the Hall of
Fame voters asking them to vote for players based only

(37:41):
on their stats because they will never really know who
used steroids and who didn't. I'm gonna say fake news
on that. That's got to be fake, all right, Yeah,
that is fake news. He sent a letter, and part
of the letter said, quote, we hope the day never
hums when steroid users are voted into the Hall of Fame.

(38:02):
They cheated. Steroid users don't belong here. He went on
to say players who failed drug tests, admitted using steroids,
or were identified as users, and Major League Baseball's investigation,
known as the Mitchell Report, should not get in. Clear Clearly,
Joe Morgan has never done radio. Clearly, because if he
was a radio professional, he'd realize we saved the steroid

(38:23):
topic for like June and July, when there's nothing going on. Okay,
that's that's when you bury those topics and when nothing
else is going on or you got a holiday filling.
I'd love it because then we'd get well for the
twelfth straight year. No one is in shrine into baseball, Like,
come on, man, who cares? What? Why? Why are we
still talking about who cares? I let everybody in savages

(38:48):
sticking with Major League Baseball Real news or fake news.
The San Francisco Giants have pulled out of the Gencarlo
Stanton sweepstakes, reports out of the Bay Area saying the
asking price for the n l m v P is
quote way a two high. I'm gonna say that's real news.
I'll say fake are faking it is fake news. According

(39:08):
to MLB dot COM's Mark fine sand he tweeted out today,
sources say Marlinson Giants have had quote deeper discussions on
a Gin Carlos Stanton deal. Believes that the Giants are
the favorites to land the n L m v P,
although the Cardinals are still a factor. I would probably
piss off Dodger alum John Ramos here, local boy goes

(39:31):
to San Francisco. That would not be good at all.
Zero good pitch. You never know, man, A Giant should
find out first last one here will turn our atention
to the NBA. Cavalier's head coach Toron Lou told reporters
last night that in order for them to be competitive
in June and win another NBA Championship. They need to

(39:51):
start cutting back on the bronze minutes. That's fake news.
I'll say real, you are faked, all right, that is
fake news. He said he's tired of hearing about it.
He played with Michael Jordan's, Carl Malone, Kareem Abdul Jabbar
late in their careers. They all played a lot of minutes.
Sometimes he has to play. Sometimes he can take minutes off,
like in last night's win over the Pistons. This is

(40:17):
game toss up, God leave show. John gave me a
hands up to stop. I thought he wanted to talk
and weigh in on the topic. So I'm John Time.
I was game time talking all over it? Oh John, John,

(40:37):
your thoughts on a Lebron's workload? All right? John? Why
are you wearing a bedsheet over your head? Doing this
show right now? And Johnny Ramos makes it a b
KR edition? Getting you yet for a week to all
the there's already changes around the NFL. We say goodbye
to the bias. Finally, all thirty two teams in action,
including the Los Angeles Chargers taking on the all those

(41:00):
cowboys on Thanksgiving Day. Hope to talk to a Charger
in the very near future. Did you know, Jonas that
the Chargers have not played a Thanksgiving Day game since
the a f L NFL merger. Yeah, I was thinking that.
I was talking about that last night that I'm trying
to remember back. You can sort of remember, like what
teams played. I know Washington played last year. I remember

(41:21):
the Harbos played off in a in a Thanksgiving game,
and then I thought, yeah, the Charger. I have never
seen the Chargers on Thanksgiving. Very very strange, but good
for them. There's one franchise that has never played the
Thanksgiving Day game, John Romis, do you know who that is? No, No,
they have It's the Jaguars. I figured that you didn't

(41:44):
know since you guess the Rams. But the Jaguars have
never played a Thanksgiving Day game. Do you know who
else has never played on Thanksgiving? Dan, Who's that? The
Montreal Expos Andreal x Bos is a good answer, also correct,
So if you had that for Jeopardy, you would be uh,
you'd be good there as well. But the Chargers and
Cowboys play in a game that I'm not sure anybody

(42:06):
has a real read on. You don't know what Dallas
is all about. Considering you were hoping, if you're a
Cowboys fan, they were going to make improvements for what
they had, uh from the Atlanta game to the Philadelphia game,
and then the Eagles just end up dominating. And now
you've got this Chargers team as crazy as it is
in the playoff picture. Now in the a f C
coming off of a dominating win against the Buffalo bill

(42:27):
Where do you stand on the three games on Thanksgiving?
He into it? Are you like the old traditional way
Cowboys Lions every year? I'm good with the I'm good
with the two. To be honest, I'm good with just
the Lions and Cowboys. I the the last game is
just another reason to avoid the family that you're with.
And I think that when you are watching that game,

(42:50):
it's very tough to justify. I know, we just sat
here for three hours and watch the Cowboys game. Now
there's another game I gotta watch, and I feel bad
about that. I'd rather just sit back. You know what.
I used to have the Egg Bowl Mississippi and uh,
Mississippi State and all miss playing. That used to be
like a Thanksgiving Day game. Those were fine. I'm not
I'm not too keen into the triple header. Um, I
will be working on Thanksgiving during that night game the

(43:14):
Giants and the Redskin. So I'm thrilled that they've got
a third game because it's that means maybe a visit
from Live bet Jesus at something during the game. And
again I don't I mean, I can't speak for him.
He's obviously not here now, he's tending to other things.
But maybe Live bet Jess will show up during that
game and bet on some bad football. Never know. I'll
be here during the Cowboys Chargers game and then likely
the end of that Vikings Lions game as well on Thanksgiving.

(43:36):
So enough to talk about. It's a good week too,
because fantasy football seasons are coming to an end and
when you can get like three or four guys in
on Thanksgiving, if you get off to a great week,
it makes Sunday looks a lot better. But if you play, yeah,
it is a long, long week. What John coming up
later on in the John Ramos Show, I'm gonna give

(43:56):
you my top twenty five starts for weeks. All positions
are you focusing on one? I'm gonna focus on quarterbacks? Okay,
top quarterbacks to play? I'm interested to here on who
is a must play from John Ramos and the John
Ramo Show coming up in about ninety minutes. And afterwards,
John in an hour four I'll have another edition of

(44:16):
the John Ramos Show. He's going to tell you who
the best teams are in the NFL, teams thirty three
through sixty. So if anybody is interested, they can catch that. Also,
do you believe in the Chargers in the best team
in the division in the division, best team in the division.
I was saying it this week. Just look at first
of all, tell me they don't have the best quarterback

(44:38):
in the division. I think I think Rivers is the
best quarterback in the division. He's he's easily the most
experience as far as winning big games outside of maybe
Alex Smith. But I think if you were to trust
anybody to win you a big game, I'll take Philip
Rivers in that division. I love their defense. They've got
premier pass rushers on the outside. Ingram, I know from
South Carolina when when I cover him at South Carolina,

(45:00):
and I told everybody, man a lot of this talk
about Jadevion Clowney and all these guys, Ingram was the
stud on that defensive line. He was the stud of
that unit when he played at South Carolina and when
the Chargers drafted him, I remember telling people, you're gonna
love him, You're gonna love and Joey Bosa, you know,
from Ohio State, and he's been awesome. So I think
they're the best team in the division. The Chiefs right

(45:21):
now lead that division at six and four, an outside
chance considering the Chiefs have allowed everybody to come back in.
But listen, Denver's out of it there. The Broncos have
lost their last six. They are now three at seven.
They're actually tied with the Colts at three and seven,
and only the Browns have a worst record in the
a f C. That's how bad it has gotten. But
it also shows on how congested things are at four

(45:44):
and six and five and five, and Buffalo allowing teams
to get back in the race. I don't think any
of us have an idea on what the Bills are
actually doing now, completely falling off the face of the earth.
You've got teams that are in the thick of it.
Baltimore has got a schedule in my mind, Jonas that
can make a push there at five and five. Their
their schedule really isn't daunting for the rest of the way,

(46:07):
and that's going to aid them. But when you see
the four and six teams like the Dolphins and the
Bengals and the questions that the Texans have, the Chargers
in that group, to me are the best four and
six team that can threaten for that while. And I'll
tell you this right now, and this may surprise some people,
the team I do not buy in the a f C.
And I don't. I don't care what they do from

(46:27):
here on out. The team I do not buy is
the Cleveland Browns. I just want to buy them. But
what have they done to make you feel that way?
I just I don't. I don't think they've strung and
strung together enough good games for me to say, you
know what, I trust them. In January that could be
our buy or sell? Are you buying or selling the
Cleveland Browns? Jonas not. That's that man. That's that like

(46:49):
an original radio segment we just did there. That is
That's how it's done, folks, Buy or sell the Cleveland
Browns at O and nine this season. But as the
fact of the matter with the a f C West
and the point that you bring up, at least with
the Chiefs and Chargers. Is there is something that isn't
right about Kansas City? Rodney Harrison on the Sunday Night

(47:10):
Football said, it's their passion. I don't know if there's
enough consistent weapons for that offense to really challenge teams.
You've got Travis Kelsey entireek kill and that's really it
for for for Alex Smith to deliver the ball. If
you want to focus on the run, you can now
do that in Kareem Hunt for his greatest things started

(47:31):
out for him. The Chiefs don't have that firepower anymore.
And I don't know if it's because they aren't challenging
teams downfield, if things just gotten different. But the running
game isn't there Kansas City's offense and the defense was
never there as it you would have hoped for it
to be. And so that's brought the Chiefs back to
the pack. Yeah, and uh, losing Eric Berry when they did.

(47:52):
Everyone gets fixated on these early starts and because it's
such a knee jerk reaction in the NFL, the people
get obsessed with this stuff. And one of the teams,
uh that I was tied like the Denver broncos Um
buddy Mind sent over a stat to me because I
always noticed Denver starts out really strong at home because
at altitude, teams playing an altitude early in the season
aren't yet in game shape and so they have an advantage.

(48:14):
Since two thousand, in weeks one and two at home,
the Broncos are eighteen and one. Like that's just a
built in advantage right off the bat. So that's why
Denver usually starts out odd. They always have a couple
of home games. Well, they've been anything but as of late,
which helps the a f C continue to be wide open.
One of the teams hoping the challenge is the Los

(48:35):
Angeles Chargers. Joining us now from the Chargers is he
is a finalist for the castrol Edge Clutch Performer of
the Week for Week eleven. Keenan Allen of the Los
Angeles Chargers. Hey, Keenan, thanks so much for the time.
It's going all right. I do want to start out
with this and we are very sorry to hear about
your grandfather Um. In your performance on Sunday, you dedicated

(48:56):
to him. What emotions did you go through? Was there
any questions about playing that game on Sunday following the
news that your grandfather had passed. Yeah, that was no
question about playing. I was gonna play. Um just a
little bit emotionally before the game, and um, you know
through the game after, I'm just thinking about him. Uh.
Do you you've dealt with adversity before, obviously the injury

(49:18):
and whatnot. How do you when you when you first
come back dealing with something like that, whether it be
an injury, a physical, something going on physically or emotionally.
How difficult is it to get ready and to trust
yourself in those situations or is it helped to lose
your mind in the process of a game? Yeah, sometimes
that was good. Um I haven't I haven't had a

(49:39):
bad case of it, but um, he's good. Um, get
your mind off of it now, you just kind of
play for you. Keenan Allen are the Chargers joining us
here on Fox Sports Radio on the Doug Gottlieb Show.
He is a finalist for the castrol Edge Clutch Performer
of the Week. Fans can vote on one of the
five performers all the way through Friday at three o'clock
Eastern time at NFL dot com. Slash castrol Edge. Keenan

(50:02):
is the game that you played Sunday. Is that a
fun game to play in when it seems that things
are so easy to come to you? Or is it
better to play in a close game where where where
things are coming down to the wire. What's more fun
of an atmosphere to play in? Probably we'll both of
them fine. First of all, obviously winning by that biggest
fun for sure. And um, but definitely when you're in

(50:25):
a close game and um, you know it's just going
back and forth. And I probably could have got like
were there times when you weren't prepared to go back
on the field because another interception was thrown? Uh? No,
I was ready to go. I was hoping it was
gonna pick one. Ever you play quarterback? They had planning.
Uh what is it? Have you noticed the difference in

(50:46):
the fan base and and sort of the enthusiasm of
the team the longer you guys have played in l
A as opposed to early in the season. Um? Not really?
How are how are the fans in l A compared
to what you experienced in San Diego? I? UM kind
of the same right now. Um, I'm the same. We're
we're kind of the same right now too. So seel

(51:09):
we can get out of this fun didn't does it?
Does it bother you that maybe they haven't shown the
support that maybe some other teams get around the league.
Or do you guys feel like you just go out
and you play and forget about all the rest. Yeah,
that's pretty much what we do. Um, go out and play,
don't worry about who's gonna stands, Just just go play. Again.
Keenan Allen and the Chargers are four and six on

(51:30):
the season, trying to make it push, just a game
out of that wild card in the NFL, and they've
got a Thanksgiving Day game coming up Thursday against the Cowboys.
Is that something that gets you guys excited to play
in a prime game on Thanksgiving Day? I mean we
were talking earlier the Chargers as a franchise haven't played
one since the a f L NFL merger. Is that
something that you guys get get excited about or do

(51:50):
you handle it is just a normal week? Yeah? I
think so. I think we're excited, uh time game, Like
you said on Thanksgiving, Um, I think we're we're looking
forward to it. Have you ever heard Philip Rivers curse?
I haven't. No, he didn't do it. He's always he's
always talking trash and he keeps it clean the entire time.
I don't get it. I that's impossible, It's crazy. He

(52:14):
is Keenan Allen of the Chargers. They've got the Cowboys
coming up again. You can vote for him as the
Castrol Edge Clutch Performer of the Week. You have until
Friday to do so. You can also get Keenan on
Twitter at Keenan Allen. We appreciate the time, Keenan. Um.
Good luck against the Cowboys on Thursday, and good luck
pursuing that playoff birth all right, I appreciate it, Keenan Allen.

(52:37):
L A Chargers. There's no difference between l A and
San Diego. Dan, do you think San Diego fans are
happy with that? Um? Probably not, probably not so much.
It's uh, listen, obviously, no, there's there's been this discussion
about people not going to the games and people aren't
showing up and they're playing in a soccer stadium and

(52:58):
it's a different environment and all that. It look to
expect them just in year one to all of a
sudden have these rapid fans like all of a sudden,
l A just has to be an immediate football powerhouse like,
it's gonna take a couple of years. They I mean,
the Rams were gone for two decades. The Chargers have
been gone for for ages and they finally come back.
It's gonna take a couple of years. What I do

(53:19):
think is is unique and it will be interesting interesting
to see with the Rams, especially as they try to
continue to lead the NFC West, is how much the
attendant shows up. I think what we are seeing and
I know there was great attendance last year for the
Rams because it was new. But now in the day
and age where maybe sitting at home is the best
option to watch football, how does the l A market
handle that, and how does it handle when the new

(53:42):
stadium comes in. Those are things that I'm not sure
that the NFL was prepared for with the twenty plus
year absence that they had, because going to games in
the mid nineties, there there that was options one through
five on your list, and now I'm not so sure
that if you have an opportunity to drive Los Angeles
traffic and I know what's specific us here in southern
California to see a game that you can get just

(54:04):
as good on your TV, I'm not sure how appealing.
That is for some By the way, I was awful
on that interview. I just want to point that out.
I hope everybody I was terrible. I will take full
responsibility for that interview. You're gonna bounce back with Mark
Slurreth in about forty five minutes. Oh yeah, yeah, come on,
listen that you can. You'll you'll knock me down. But
it's like that great song I get up again, Dan,
I know you will, will, You'll get up for sure.

that cover the NFL. Okay, so so people that report

NFL general managers have been lying to you. Will explain
how next Here on that's are This is the Doug

R Thanksgiving special here on Fox Sports Radio and coming

(55:11):
up in about fifteen minutes. Sure, the college football playoff
rankings come out tonight, but we've got a whole other
set of rankings that will be much more interesting also, Jonas.
In a little over an hour, I have just gotten
word that The John Ramo Show is going to up
their fantasy football preview four week twelve and the quarterbacks

(55:35):
to place that's coming up in an hour on the
John Ramo Show here on the Doug Gottlieb Show on
Fox Sports Radio. Yeah, I know John did last year.
He saved a lot of fantasy lives when he talked,
he broke down um backup quarterbacks, who you should start
if something tragic happened to the starter. There's no one.
There's no one better than Johnny Ramos. And also, what

(55:56):
we want to hear from you on Twitter, Jonas, they
can gets us at DJ the Knocks. I am at
Dan Buyer on Fox and John your Twitter handle where
they can reach you is well coming up. We'll come
up on Thanksgiving. So that's why I like to get
crazy and do some crazy things. So today something different
at j S Ramos zero six and and it's the
same with yesterday. But again I know this is the

(56:18):
Thanksgiving Twitter handle. This is the special thing and it's Thanksgiving.
That's why he's got the zero six at the end
of it. Because it's in about thirty minutes or so,
we will reveal how long Keenan Allen actually spoke to
us in that last interview. So so the over under
on actual words said by Keenan Allen, what do you

(56:40):
want to set that ass Okay, the over under on
combined answers like total time on his answers, So for
our eight questions, hypothetically his eight answers would total how
long a minute the over under is going to be
said at sixty seconds? Let us know is it over
or under? And if you want to, I don't know,
just get a little happy and double up. What was

(57:02):
the longest answer he gave us time length? That's that's
so you can give us, Yeah, you can parlay that
over under of a minute and also give us the
number on the longest answer, whether it was an eight
second answer, a twelve second answer, a twenty second answer.
You can tweet in your answers at the Jonas Knox

(57:23):
at Dan Buyer on Fox and again the special Thanksgiving
Twitter address for John Ramos JS Ramos zero six. The
Seattle Seahawks lost last night to the Atlanta Falcons, and
in my mind, Jonas had signified the end of what
was the Seahawks rain, not that they were at the
top of their game the last two seasons. Remember, they
were blown out last year by the Falcons in Atlanta

(57:43):
in the NFC Divisional Playoffs. The year before that they
were blown out by the Carolina Panthers in Charlotte in
the NFC Divisional Playoffs. But last night showed me that
the Seahawks, in some of their desperate moves and Pete
Carroll challenging a play that had no reason being challenged
whatsoever on a Doug Baldwin catch and they lost the
time out show to the Times, the Seahawks were desperate,

(58:04):
and they were desperate to get something going. This team
hasn't been desperate when they've been on the top of
their game. The defense isn't there anymore. But when you
look around the National Football League. We talked with Marcedes
Lewis and the Jacksonville Jaguars. He raved about their defense.
When you see what's happening in Pittsburgh, Ben Roethlisberger isn't
the Ben Roethlisberger we've seen Over the last few years.
The Green Bay Packers have fallen off the face of

(58:24):
the map without Aaron Rodgers. There's a legitimate question on
what is the winning formula for an NFL team. And
I think that people are getting confused and thinking you
must have a franchise quarterback to win a Super Bowl
because if you actually look in recent history, that isn't
the case outside of New England. And I think that
people are are getting I don't know, fooled. Is maybe

(58:46):
the answer where you need to have that franchise quarterback,
I don't think it's necessary in the NFL these days. Yeah,
people like to do their replacement game. That's my favorite one.
It's like they want to replace, they want to take
a current players status and they want to put that
the same exact status on a completely different situation and say, well,
what it turned out the same? No, now that's that's

(59:08):
not the case. Like it's it's like the Carson w
You're hearing about how great Carson Wentz is. You know, man,
Carson Wentz is awesome. Al Right. If he's so awesome,
put him on Cleveland, you know, you talk about how
Cleveland whift on him. How good are the Browns with
Carson Wentz? Maybe a win, maybe two at best. We're
talking at best. They're still an atrocious football team. So
I think there's some sort of misinformation that's handed out there,

(59:32):
and people just think it's so easy to do the
replacement game and it doesn't work that well. Does the
flip side work in Philadelphia? Because I think that it does.
I'm not saying that the Eagles would be the best
team in the NFC without Carson Wentz, but we've seen
the success that case Keenum is handed with the Vikings
and replacing Sam Bradford and for what the Eagles do,
And this was the topic of conversation that Doug in

(59:53):
d'angela Williams head yesterday. If you took Carson Wentz off
of the Philadelphia Eagles, are the Eagles still a playoff tea?
I think they are when you look at all of
the weapons that they have at this point and the
reason why I think this is an interesting discussion, Jonas
is because we've seen how Green Bay has fallen off
the map without Aaron Rodgers. We've heard how much Aaron
Rodgers is a factor in Las Vegas when it comes

(01:00:15):
to green Bay Packer lines. Remember the Packers have been
to one Super Bowl with Aaron Rodgers one. And when
you look at the past quarterbacks again outside of New England,
and I think that you can throw this out there,
because Tom Brady is the greatest quarterback of all time.
The Broncos, we know, got there without great quarterback play
and winning in Super Bowl fifty, even with Peyton Manning
as their quarterback. When the Seahawks one with Russell Wilson,

(01:00:37):
he wasn't the Russell Wilson that we see now where
that we saw last night Joe Flacco in the Baltimore Ravens.
Flacco was a good quarterback. I'm not saying you need
an awful quarter eli Manning for for that fact. When
you look at the quarterbacks that are making at the
Super Bowls and winning Super Bowls outside of Brady in
recent history, they haven't been awful, but they haven't been

(01:00:58):
franchise world beaters at the time that they were winning
those Super Bowls, And I think people get lost in
the fact of trying to chase down that franchise quarterback.
You just need a pretty good quarterback right now and
make sure that your defense plays well and you can
be in the playoff push and maybe push for Super
And also Philadelphia is a front office has been really
aggressive when it comes to acquiring talent, Like they've gone

(01:01:18):
out of their way to make sure that that Carson
Wentz is surrounded by quality players. So if it's not
if it's not them making moves on the front, it's
them going out and signing all Sean Jeffrey or Tory Smith.
They go out and they trade for j J. I. E.
When they already have at their running backs. They're like
they like they have they have doubled down and double
down and double down to surround him with the best

(01:01:40):
possible talent. Which is why Yeah, I just I think
that it's people sort of get lost in the hysteria
of oh, look at you, that team whiffed on a
pit man, Like how many teams If you put a
player in a bad situation and and the situation is
bad enough, not only does it hurt that year, and
not only are you bad that year, you could ruin
that guy's career because one bad situation and people just

(01:02:03):
label you as a bust as opposed to where you
get put in a different situation. Alex Smith finally gets
a guy who can coach him up a little bit,
finally gets in an offense and doesn't have seven offensive coordinators,
and look what happens. Like you see some results. I
just think I think people are so quick to say
this is how it's done, this is what you need,
and this is why it works, when no, there's there's

(01:02:23):
shades of grays mixed in there. It's just that's how
it is. Yeah, And I think people are getting fool
that you need to get that quarterback and even if
you lock him up. This is the this is the
thing about Washington when it comes to Kirk Cousins as well.
You just have you if you're a team or if
you're a fan of a team, just come to the
grips of the quarterback position is going to cost more,
no matter how good or great he is. That's that
that is money that you're going to have to put

(01:02:45):
in that spot, no matter what. If you want to
go cheap. You're probably not gonna win, but you don't
have to lock a guy up for thirty million dollars
a year and leave other parts of your team bear
because you're paying a quarterback so much because you feel
he is going to be the franchise guy. Look at
the Saints and Drew Brees, I mean, Drew Brees is

(01:03:05):
best years have come when the Saints haven't been that good,
and it's usually because he has to get the team
back in And I know this past weekend shows how
valuable it is to have Drew Brees as a quarterback.
But we know that they aren't this good if they
aren't running the ball as well as they are, and
we know that they're not that as good if their
defense isn't playing at the caliber as it is. So
even in New Orleans this year, a good quarterback shows

(01:03:28):
that in the NFL, a good quarterback can get it
done with everything around you. And if you overvalue and
are sitting there trying to find your franchise guy, Jared
Goff no longer has to be a franchise guy for
the Rams. He's just got to be with the franchise
and be good over the next twelve years and the
Rams should be fine. That's how you end up winning
in the NFL is then putting everything around here and
look at the Drew Brees situation, because is there another

(01:03:49):
guy in the NFL who has had more big time
talent on offense weapons traded away than Drew Brees. I
mean Jimmy Graham, Brandon Cooks like it has happened and
over again, and that's why they always hovered around this
seven and nine, eight and eight, nine and seven mark,
and people thought, okay, well the Drew Brees Sean payton
eras run its course in New Orleans instead of of

(01:04:10):
of you know, handing them all these weapons or doing whatever,
they said, Okay, we've gotten rid of all these other
offensive weapons of yours. All right, all these guys are gone,
and you know what we're gonna do. We're gonna give
you a running game and a defense. Guess what works?
Man Like? Yeah, they trade Jimmy Graham to Seattle and
get Max under Younger, who's their starting center. You know,
I know Ron Ramchek, who was their first rumping band

(01:04:30):
past year, had some difficulties against the Redskins. But still
you're trying to afford to buy that offensive line. Yeah,
it's it's all there. I think people are overreacting. I mean,
Russell Wilson is a franchise quarterback. But the Seahawks aren't
gonna go anywhere if they don't run the ball and
play defense, and that is an issue right now for Seattle.
Dan Buyer Jonas knocks in for Degott leave here on

(01:04:51):
Fox Sports Radio. You can get me on Twitter at
d Jonas Knocks. You can get Dan at Dan Buyer
on Fox. Up next, there's something that you see every
single day, all right, you see it every single day
when you're online or you're on your phone and you're
checking out hot sports topics. We're going to expose it. Okay,
we're going to expose it, and we're going to explain

(01:05:13):
why you see them in a different way. That's coming
up next, But for all the latest from around the
world of sports, it's the great Isaac Low and Crown,
Jonas and Dan busy day. In the NFL, multiple outlets
reporting that the Denver Broncos will start Paxton Lynch at
quarterback this Sunday in Oakland against the Raiders. Now, the
Broncos have not as of yet commented on these reports.

(01:05:36):
But the Broncos are sitting at three and seven. They
started Trevor Simeon the first seven games and Brock Osweiler
the last three. Meanwhile, Ian Rappaport of NFL Media just
reported that former Cardinals running back Andre Ellington has been
claimed off waivers by the Houston Texans. We have a
late candidate for SoundBite of the Year from Minnesota Vikings

(01:06:01):
head coach Mike Zimmer. Now, the Vikings are sailing along.
They're eight and two, they've won six in a row.
But Teddy Bridgewater is back healthy and on the active rosters.
So Zimmer today once again was asked who his starting
quarterback is going to be Thursday against the Lions. He
confirmed it would be case Keenum and went on to
give him quite a compliment. You the thing I liked

(01:06:23):
the most about cases He's got big balls. You know,
he's not afraid. Hey he's not he's not afraid. He's
gonna pull the trigger and he's gonna play like that.
So um, you know that's a good thing. And finally,
in college basketball news, Missouri announced today that one of
the top incoming freshmen in the nation this year, Michael
Porter Jr. Is undergoing back surgery today and is likely

(01:06:46):
to miss the rest of the season. Jonas and Dame,
I thought that was Zimmer talking about Johnny Ramos, but
that was not the case. It is the Doug Gottlieb
Show here on Fox Sports Radio. He is Jonas knocks,
I'm Dan buyer. John Ramos here as well, and for
Doug today, he got big balls John John does that
silver medalist in the U four teen soccer tournament this year.

(01:07:10):
Every time John got a physical when he was younger,
the doctor had to wear a back brace. Okay, Jonas,
let's let's move on to other matters at hand. He
just probably had a bad bad back. Was that? Was
that the case? After one regular season win. I don't
know if you know this, but John let his team
to the championship game of their soccer league. All right,

(01:07:32):
you did it, John, But they lost for it enough,
so the rebuild is underway there. Hey, you gotta start
subwhere The college football playoff rankings come out tonight, and
I don't expect to see a lot of changes from
what we had just a week ago. I mean, nothing
really happened this past weekend that would make anything change

(01:07:53):
Alabama ended up rolling Mercer, so that will stay the same.
My Ami ends up coming back and beating virgin and
you that should stay the same. I don't think we're
gonna see a lot of shocking things this weekend. We
know that Clemson and Miami are going to play in
the a c C Title game. So when you've got
those two teams playing, one of those teams is going
to drop out of the top four. So without the

(01:08:17):
changes that we saw this I mean Auburn one, Alabama one,
I mentioned, they're gonna end up playing this week. So
when you've got those matchups on the horizon, nothing happened
last week and that is going to change. So we
figured why even bother, why even bother try to predict
what was going to happen with the college football rankings
when we could rank something else right? And uh, and

(01:08:38):
it's something that everybody sees, like you see this all
the time. Okay, you go on a website and you're
looking down any kind of as you're scrolling down, you go, oh,
what's this a catchy headline that wants me to click
on it and wants me to get sucked into the
vortex that is this catchy headline. It's a tease. If

(01:08:58):
you will latest a gentleman, we present to you the
top six sponsored ad rankings that you see every single
day on websites. Alrighty, are you ready to reveal? Are
you ready to reveal? Who are the top six of
the sponsored ads at the bottom of the websites that
you read every day? You're ready to go, Jonas, Let's

(01:09:20):
start out from the top, because we want to set
up our brackets. The number one sponsored ad on a
website is his neighbors don't like him, but he is brilliant. Oh,
that is number one. That is interesting because you're wondering,

(01:09:42):
what did that neighbor do to make people so mad?
Yet he's smarter than everyone else. Yeah, And and I
always think like, oh, are they talking about me? And
then I realized I'm not brilliant and I go, Okay, well,
I go that I can't possibly qualify for this, so
this would not be me. But it's still get you
every time. It's still it's still gets you every time
when you when you're saying they called the decision making

(01:10:04):
point on the page, when you decide whether or not
you want to go to the next page or not
that's where they put these. If this was if this
was me in that situation, it would be the neighbors
smoking weak because no, because because it is. It is
quite often. Yeah, and you are a pothead, no doubt
about it. No, we don't want that. We don't. We
don't want that at all. Oh so you so your

(01:10:27):
neighbors are potheads. Yes, so they are making me mad.
But they may be brilliant. Okay, yeah, they're great people,
but there's just sometimes a foul older that comes over
the property line. That was number one, and you're sponsored
AD rankings. Number two. Unbelievably perfectly timed photos. Okay, these

(01:10:49):
are like the photo was just timed perfectly. You would
not believe usually, and I would have to guess that
these probably have something to do with nudity, I would think,
John Ramos, wouldn't you say, yeah, yeah, I think that
that's why it would be unbelievably perfectly time photos, unless,

(01:11:11):
as Anthony said, it could also be Anthony our intern.
It could also be the guy who's taking a picture
while he's falling off the Grand Canyon like that. An
option they were like, like, unbelievably perfectly timed photos is
number two in our rankings of sponsored ads at the

(01:11:31):
bottom of your favorite weapons. Well, it's like those idiots
who are like, you know, fitness models. They're like these
Instagram fitness models, and so they work out at the
gym and then they show a picture of imposing afterwards
and they have a good pump, and underneath it's you know,
sometimes in life things get hard. The struggle is real,
and so is the pump. Chase the pump. Hashtag fitness,

(01:11:55):
hashtag fitness life, hashtag no steroids, hashtag get a life,
shut up, put the phone down, work out and move
on with your day. Nobody cares. All right, what else?
What else do we have for the number three? Now
that's all right? Sponsored ads rankings, Okay, we'll up the
number three. So far the top seed his neighbors don't
like him, but he is brilliant and number two unbelievably

(01:12:17):
perfectly timed photos. Are you ready for number three? Yes?
All right? I actually saw this earlier. What tiger Woods
his wife looks like? Now left us without works look like? No?
Maybe is she still carrying that golf club that that

(01:12:38):
that she abused her husband with? Is that still happening?
It is that I'm sorry. I'm without words. I just
saw the picture. I cannot speak. I can't speak. I
just saw what Tiger Woods his wife looks like. Now,

(01:12:58):
Oh my goodness. I think this could also go under
the fact of you won't believe what these Hollywood stars
look like now and Blank is unrecognizable. I think that
can you know, like that can whatever? Are you kidding me?
Marcia from the Brady But she is unrecognizable. Now, what

(01:13:21):
in the world could she look like? Sounds like one
of my weekend overnight teas is all right, number what
are we on? Number four? Okay, here we are, thanks Mike.
Four than our rankings of sponsored ads. You wouldn't believe
what happened when the cameras continued to roll. Oh, either

(01:13:43):
someone lost a limb or again we go back to nudity.
I think that is again what is bringing people in
with the sponsored ads. So that would be our matchup,
our one four matchup would be his neighbors don't like him,
but he is brilliant against You wouldn't believe what happened
when the cameras continue to roll, and then the other
matchup unbelievably perfectly timed photos against what Tiger Wood's wife

(01:14:06):
looks like, now left us without work? Geez, do we
have any on the outside? Long? We we do? I've
spotted one. And then this this, this is called this
is a call to action. This is a we're gonna
call you out. So this would be a probably an Auburn.
I would say this is probably Auburn because you've got
really good schedule, a couple of losses, but two really

(01:14:27):
good teams. You could you could really determine the playoff
picture if you win the iron Ball, You're ready for this.
Damn this. Only a true American can pass this geography quiz. Yeah,
beanna like that one. That My favorite part about that
one is you saying I'm not a true American. I'll

(01:14:48):
show you, and then he missed like four out of
ten states like like that. I love how they call you,
they pull your punk card, like we don't think you're
a true American if you I'm not. And you know,
people in the South are all over this one. I
know what Utah looks like, I know the shape. I
know I can tell you. You You don't want to know
why because I am a true American. Um, oh my god, Okay,

(01:15:13):
there's one on the cutting room floor as well. Six
Robin Williams net Worth brought us to tears. Oh wow, yeah,
because what that does is there's a lot of nosy
people out there. Okay, they're the same people that they said, well,

(01:15:34):
you know, I couldn't get his autopsy photos, so let
me see what his W two is look like. You know,
I'll tell you. I'll tell you what. I will develop
a sponsored ad right now that would get more hits
than any of them. Find out your best friend's salary. Okay, yeah,
that nine billion hits. I don't know if I'm crying
because I have no money and Robin Williams has it all,

(01:15:56):
or if he had no money and I feel sad.
I their way, We want to find out why Robin
Williams net worth, by the way, not gross net net worth.
That is going to bring us to tears. Here's one. Okay,
you won't believe what your friend's wife had to say
about you because because half of that is God. I

(01:16:24):
hope it's something good because I didn't like that guy
that much. Anyways. Oh, there they are others that didn't
make the list. Fifteen discount seniors get only if they
knew now that's just praying on seniors. That is that
is an awful sponsored ad. And um one other one
that we saw today, uh fifteen? Or excuse me? Who

(01:16:46):
was Prince's father? You will never guess? I never knew.
I wanted to know who Prince's father was. They told
me that you wouldn't believe it Prince the Singer or
Prince Charles. No, we know who Prince Charles father is. Okay, yes,
it's Prince Philip, right. I mean that's isn't that? Yeah?

(01:17:07):
The of adults can't pass this basic elementary school quiz
also falls under the geography quiz that we brought in.
Oh yes, who cares about college football rankings when you
can rank sponsored ads on celebrities were asked who has
the worst gas in Hollywood? The answer were shocking? Come on,
oh man, alright. Today's show is brought to you by

over selling anything. So we're not into these big dramatic teases.
But wait, do you hear what somebody in the sports
media world had to say about several members of its

(01:17:52):
own community and the answer will shock you. That's next. Ah. Yes,
we are in for Doug today. I'm Dan Buyer. That's
Jonas Knocks Johnny Ramos here as well, and it's always
at this time, it's it's not a game, but we
shoul like to have fun with Jonas. Usually at this time,

(01:18:14):
Doug talks about something that was said other on Fox
Sports Radio or on Fox Sports One, whether it be undisputed,
speak for yourself, maybe Clay Travis, Colin Cowhard and the herd. Uh.
First things first with Nick right today, we're gonna do
something a little different than we have done before. It
is a social media What does the Fox say is

(01:18:34):
we are gonna be read reading tweets from John Ramos
NFL weekend and get the response from from you and
from the author of the tweets himself, the one and
only John Ramos. This on November nineteenth, This was Sunday.
John Ramos tweeted, how about that to the quote best

(01:18:58):
end quote defense in the NFL hashtag rams t D
John Ramos, you care to explain about your take there? Well,
first drive of the series of Rams go down and
score in like seven plays. I'm like, this is the
best defense in NFL. They didn't score again. That was
was one of those tweets that maybe you wanted to
wait for another touchdown, maybe, like you know, the opening

(01:19:21):
drive and alough, there's a lot happening, but you may
want to just sit on that one until at least
maybe the end of the first half. Ramos also can
tend to be lazy when it comes to social media,
so I've never mind the fact that we're going to
call him out for a lie. He said that J
S Romo zero six is twitter handle that was a
special Thanksgiving Twitter handle, and I'm clearly seeing it here

(01:19:42):
that there were previous dates where it says j S
Romo zero six. So he lied to the audience. So
John Romos is a liar. He's also very lazy sometimes.
The following tweet was sent. I guess they really wanted
him gone dot dot dot. That says a lot. Hashtag
U c l A Bruins. Now that wasn't John's. He
just tweeted it. So he mailed in that tweet. So
John just refusing. You know, I'm not getting up off

(01:20:04):
the couch and making an effort. I'll just retweet No.
I thought that one said at all? Is that exactly
what you would have tweeted as well? If this that's
what you would have put in the box, I would
have said that, Yes, they I think they wanted him gone.
John also did his own freezing cold takes again with
the Rams game. Um our good friend Adam tweeted, are

(01:20:24):
the l A Rams overrated? Was the question? And John
quote retweeted that one with four letters N O P
E fat Nope Again John, when was this one sent
as are the Rams overrated? It was after the game
was over and the Rams were thoroughly dominated by the
Minnesota Vikings, and he was just trying to say, look

(01:20:46):
look at this sad schedule that they've gone through. And
I just said, no, not overrated. They're here, They're here
to play some football. Not wavering one bit, No, not
at all. What about this one though? From J s
Rama zero six? Again another blatant lie about a holiday
edition of a Twitter handle. Remember when we said Cutler
would save the season dot dot dot whoops? I don't

(01:21:09):
remember when we said. If anybody ever said that that
that's that game is a surprise me. I was not
aware of that. Somebody said it in Miami. I just
went with it. Apparently, when what does the Fox say
and social media takes place, nobody even has to say it.

(01:21:30):
For John Ramos two and the great thing is he
said we Who's we? What up? On a Tuesday? John
Ramos is zero as well as we are in for
Doug here on a b k R edition of the
Doug Gottlieb Show. Just a couple of days away from
Thanksgiving and some teams giving thanks for the great fortunes
they have, others not so much. You heard Isaac say

(01:21:51):
the Raiders have just fired defensive coordinator Ken Norton Jr.
And there's a change at quarterback in Denver. Joining us
to talk about those issue using everything else else that's
going on in the National Football League. He's an NFL
on Fox analysts and joins us each week here on
the Doug gott Leap Show. Mark Slaret Joan says, hey, Mark,
happy Thanksgiving so much for taking the time today. Absolutely

(01:22:13):
happy that he's giving to you guys as well. Let's
let's quickly start with the latest news at least out
of Oakland is Ken Norton Jr. Was he the problem
with that Raiders defenses they now make a change with
their coordinator. Well, I mean, you know, I would say no,
I would say I don't care who your coordinator is.
It comes down to talent. And when you face the Raiders,

(01:22:35):
what are you facing really? I mean, you're finding a
way to get a double team or four hands as
we like to say, on on one dude. That dude
is Khalil mac And after that, I mean, you break
a huddle. You're not afraid to go on against anybody
on that defense. There's not one other guy that you're like,
oh my god, how we're gonna get in with that guy?
So if they've got one dude, you can take that
dude out of a game plan and be on that. Um,

(01:22:57):
it comes down to talent. I don't care what you
do as a coordinator. If you don't have the talent
around your football team to coordinate it properly. Uh, you know,
it really doesn't matter. You can you know, you can
have anybody calling defenses and it's just not gonna be
that successful. So, uh, that to me, is really the
biggest problem at all three levels. There's one dude that

(01:23:19):
you have to get dead within and beyond that, I
don't think that's There's a whole lot else to say. So, yeah,
I don't think it's Ken Norton. Obviously you're trying to
shake things up a little bit, but the bottom line
is they're just not very good. Obviously we saw Mike
McCoy now obviously Ken Norton the next day. So the
coordinators are being fired. We know that head coaches get
fired every single year in the NFL at the end

(01:23:39):
of the season. What is that like as a player though?
Take us into the locker room when a guy that
you've been studying under that he's been coaching, and whether
it be a coordinator, an assistant, a head coach, and
they're fired. What is the mood like in the locker
room afterwards? Well, I think there's I mean, I think
there's a lot that goes into that. Obviously, if you're
not performing, um, if you like the guy, uh, you

(01:24:02):
feel bad. You know, you feel bad when guys lose
their jobs and um, and and that's always a tough thing.
I mean, Ken Orton's had success you know, in a
lot of places, as as Mike McCoy and and it
feels bad. You feel like you let guys down, and
that's always difficult, and um, I think you know, and
at the bottom line, and this is a really tough business.
I mean, it's a it's a business of um you know,

(01:24:24):
as we like to say, it's not a try hard
league is do good league. And when you don't do good,
people get fired. And that's the way it goes. And sometimes,
you know, sometimes there's a bit of a cover of
your butt mentality in the National Football League, and you
look at at certain guys who become the fall guy.
And I think the same thing as going on in
Denver here. I mean you look at the Denver Broncos
with Mike McCoy, and then Mike McColl suddenly forget how

(01:24:47):
to coordinate an offense or do you just not have
the right players in place? And sometimes it just really
comes down to a lack of talent. Now, you can
be stubborn and you can continue to call the same things,
um and and get the same results, and then scratch
your head, go why why isn't it different? You know,
why guys getting better? Well? Uh, you know, I look
at it from a coaching standpoint. Your job is to

(01:25:08):
put your players in the best position to make plays,
and if you don't do that, then that's on you.
If you keep asking players to do things that they
can't do, that's on you. But I think in both
cases it really comes down to the lack of talent
that you're coordinating, whether it's McCoy or whether it's Norton.
Mark Shlareth joining us here on Fox Sports Radio talking NFL.

(01:25:29):
Of course he's an NFL on Fox analyst. More on
the Denver situation. What is the endgame Paxton Lynch reportedly
is going to start in week twelve? You want us
talked about the coordinator change, and you guys dove into that,
But what is their endgame with the quarterback position. Do
they actually believe that Paxson Lynch could be a guy
or is this just a way of them saying, Hey,
we looked at all of our guys, none of them

(01:25:49):
are gonna work. We're gonna try to address this in
the draft. Yeah. No, I think I think you've got
six games to prove it, and I think you know
the coaching staff, I mean past and Lynch has had
two years there, albeit different coordinators and different offenses. But
you have to understand that Trevis Simeon was having a

(01:26:10):
shoulder surgery or had a shoulder surge in the off season,
so he wasn't really able to participate in the O
t A s. So Paston Lynch was given every opportunity
to win this game or win this job from the onset.
And you know, he had all the O t A
s to himself. Uh, he had the training camp competition.
He was really afforded the opportunity to win that job,

(01:26:33):
and he couldn't win the job. And so now you've
got six games, and to me, it's like this is
six game audition. Either proved that you can play at
this lay level, proved that you've got what it takes
to study and prepare and to be a professional. The
bottom line is to be an adult, um. And you know,
there's not a lot of adults, and and you know,
I played this game for a long time, and you know,

(01:26:54):
and we all have a little bit of that Peter
Pan syndrome menace. But when it's time to work, you've
got to be an adult in this especially the quarterback position,
You've got to be an adult man. You gotta have
some maturity, you gotta have some leadership qualities. You've gotta
be one of the first guys in the building, one
of the gut last guys to leave it, and you
gotta be dialed in. And so to me, this is
a six game audition, proved that you can play, or
we're gonna move on and we're gonna try to implement

(01:27:16):
with Bill Bill Musgrave. And you guys know him well
out there in Oakland. Uh, you know you're gonna have
to You're gonna have to simple this thing down, give
them some you know, some collegiate type of spread concepts
that he can execute, melded together with what you're already running.
And you hope that as this, as the six games progress,

(01:27:37):
you get more and more concepts that are built on
top of it, and see if the guy can prove
to be have those leadership qualities and those professional qualities,
and if not, you're going in a different direction. But
the six game audition isn't fair, Probably not, but life
isn't fair, and you gotta figure it out. You know,
you gotta go out there and see if you can play.
He is Mark Slayer three times Super Bowl champion Fox

(01:27:57):
NFL analysts joining us here on Fox Sports Rade. So
they say that, and you would know this better than
anybody at the game. Championships are one in the trenches.
So what is the difference now that we're at this
point of the season, getting into late November Thanksgiving right
around the corner. We know who the teams that are
going to the playoffs where we think we have a
pretty good i DR and the teams that aren't. What's
the difference at this time of the year physically mentally

(01:28:21):
between playing on a good team and a bad team. Well,
I mean good team. You have confidence, You know that
you can overcome things. You have confidence not only his players,
but you have confidence in your coaching staff. And you
all go to Philadelphia and and think about the Philadelphia Eagles.
They're playing the Denver Broncos. They lose. They're one of

(01:28:41):
the best left tips, one of my favorite players to watch,
and Jason Peters, and he is a freak show. The
guy has been in the the league fourteen years. He moves
like he's twenty five years old. He's three thirty pounds
and I'd say, hey, you know, I'll put him at
pound for pound is one of the best athletes in football.
He tears his a c L. He cares m c L.
They put a new kid in, a young kid, guy
that hasn't really played, and they played the Broncos with

(01:29:03):
a great pass rushing guys that have the ability to
come off the edge, and you know what they do,
read zone, run pass options, three step drops, five step drops,
get the ball out of a quarterback's hand, let him
attack the offensive line of scrimmage, let him attack the
defensive players, keep them off balanced. They didn't sniff Carson Wentz,
and everybody thinks it's past protection. You know. The Dallas

(01:29:25):
Cowboys have the same situation going on. What do they do?
They continue to keep the same exact offense out there.
They leave their left tackle Chaz Green, who hasn't played there,
He's played some guard and they give up six sacks
to Adrian Clayborne. And I'm like, okay, coaching step, at
what point did you think he was gonna learn how
to block in that game? Was it after the second sack,

(01:29:46):
the third sect, the fourth set, the fifth stack? Was
the sixth stack that he thought he was gonna figure
it out? Like, like, is that his fault? That he
couldn't do that, or is it your dumbasses for leaving
him in one on one the whole day? And you know,
and I look at the Eagle staff and they go, hey,
we've got a gun kid out here hasn't played a
lot facing the Broncos. Let's not leave him one on

(01:30:07):
one with von Miller a bunch. Let's figure out or
if we're gonna leave him one on one, let's make
it a three step drop, or let's make the five
step drop. This can get out of the quarterbacks hands.
Let's give a chance to attack a line of scrimmage
that your pastor thank you just isn't about laying back
and letting guys beat up. It's about the way coaches
called plays. And that's the difference. You've got good teams

(01:30:28):
that understand their weaknesses, and you know what they do.
They put their players in positions, even their weakest players,
in positions to win. And when you do that, you
have confidence. No matter what we call, we're going to
be successful because our coaches are smart and our players
are good enough to execute it. Mark Shlaira joining us
here on Fox Sports Radio. He's Jonah Stocks. I'm Dan

(01:30:48):
buyer in for Doug Gottlieb. I know this is kind
of a broad question, stink, but if you were to
construct a team, we talked about this earlier, that maybe
having the superstar quarterback isn't the ultimate recipe to win
a Super Bowl, And I think if you look back
in history that there's a lot of evidence to that
if you were to construct a team, and I'm not
talking salary cap and all that one of the most

(01:31:09):
important aspects of a championship team, you feel that that
a team needs to make a run of the Super Bowl? Wain, Well,
I think, obviously, you know, the quarterback notwithstanding because he
let's face it, it's an important position, you know. Um,
I think the biggest thing. And you know, I'll disagree
with Michael Irvin here, who's a friend, dear friend, but

(01:31:31):
um has lost his mind. Um. You know, the next
team that's won superstar wide receiver away from winning the
championship will be the first team they ever won a
championship based on a superstar wide receiver. Um. You know
those Dallas Cowboy teams. Yeah, it's funny, those cowboy teams
he played on. You know, I'll never forget being in

(01:31:53):
Dallas watching them warm up, and I'm waiting. I was
with their skins at the time, and I'm waiting and
I'm watching them warm up because I went out to
snap early in our offense. Our team hadn't come out yet,
and their offensive line was to and A, Um, Larry,
you know, it was to and A. I don't think
Larry Allen wasn't quite an the league yet, but it

(01:32:14):
was to and A. It was Nate Newton, it was
Mark Stepanowski, maybe it was Kevin Gogan and it was
um Eric Williams. And they had Nova Check and they
had Emmett Smith, and they had Aikman and Irvin and maybe, uh,
you know, Alvin Harper. And I'm watching the more up
I'm going I do believe we're gonna get her ask kicked.

(01:32:35):
We don't have one guy on our offense could start
on that offense, you know. And and in the bottom line,
I always have believed this. You build a team from
the inside out. You dominate and control a line of scrimmage,
both offensively being defensively, and you'll want to help a
lot more games than you loose. And you can make
up for a quarterback that's maybe not an elite level quarterback.

(01:32:56):
But it's good enough to you know, to get you
as long as you're in manageable third down situations to
convert and to keep you know, to keep the change moving,
and to score enough to win. And and that to
me is what football is truly all about. As as
the rules change and it becomes more and more of
a passing league and all those different things. You dominate
a line of scrimmage, you win, and you'll win a

(01:33:18):
hell of a lot more than you'll lose. And that's
really the way I would build a team. And you
look at the teams that can dominate a lot of scrimmage,
You look at the teams that can play that way, um,
and those teams are gonna lose or they're gonna win
a lot of games. Now, there's a couple of guys
that transcend that, right, Aaron. Aaron Rodgers transcends it, you know,
Brady transcends that. Drew Brees probably transcends that to a degree. Um.

(01:33:40):
But there's three guys, Honestly, there's three guys in the league,
and you know, and the rest of them, you know,
you're just not gonna win, um, unless you can really
dominate a line of scrimmage and that will never change.
It's about blocking people. It's about you know, and it's
about tackling and defending people. And if you can do that,
you're gonna win a lot of game. Mark slayt before

(01:34:01):
we let you go. Besides the Cleveland Browns, we know
about the Browns. But is there a team in the
NFL that you would be really concerned with if you
were a fan long term? Oh? Oh my good, Well,
there's I mean, there's a lot of teams. I mean,
I think you know, I can't necessarily point a finger
at any team in general. I would just say I

(01:34:23):
would just say this. I mean, if the Jaguars can
turn it around by going out and you know, in
hiring Doug Morone and getting Tom Coughlin and kind of
changing what they want to do or what they want
to be as a football team, then I would say
that pretty much anybody can turn it around. And we've
seen it with the Rams in general. Um, the Charges

(01:34:44):
would be a team because they feel like a team
without a home and you know, you go and I
called the Chargers game earlier in the season, and and
there was probably seventy of the fans sitting in that
thirty thousand seat stadium or twenty seven thousands each stadium,
there were Eagle fans there, and so they would be
a team that I would be concerned with from that standpoint.
But I think there's probably you know, ten, maybe twelve

(01:35:08):
teams who have ownership that really want to win championships.
And then the rest of the teams I really believe
are in it to make money and to grow their
franchise wealth, and they're not worried about about winning at
any in a high degree. You know, if it happens,
you know, if it's an outlier, then great, But I
don't believe they're truly committed to winning, and that part,

(01:35:29):
to me is what kind of frightens me about the league.
Mark schlairas NFL on Fox Analysts. Of course, you can
find him on Twitter at Mark SCHLAIRA. Thanks. Think we'll
love to do it again soon. Yeah. Absolutely, guys do well,
great insight the best. I love them, and I is
point on building a team kind of supports what we
had talked about earlier of just inside and out. It's

(01:35:51):
a way that I think if you look through the NFL, yes,
you can always point to Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady.
They're the outliers. And even if you want to point
to Rogers, that's it's a whole another just one super
Bowl for Aaron Rodgers so far, You've got to build
up on those lines. Today's shows brought to you by Drewcar.

his Fox Sports Radio filling in for Doug Gottlieb here
on fs are Up next. There was a potential so
a quarterback was drafted in the NFL and he had
all the makings of a franchise quarterback. He's being giving

(01:36:33):
another opportunity to succeed. We'll tell you who that is
next year on n FS ARE Yes, it is I'm
Dan Buyer, that's Jonas Knocks, Johnny Ramos as well as
we are sitting in for Doug today. Glad to have
you with us. Here on Fox Sports Radio. Tuesday in
the NFL usually pretty quiet, but we do have three
games coming up on Thursday, and a lot of changes
in the National Football League, Raiders firing defensive coordinator Ken

(01:36:55):
Norton and the Broncos reportedly making another quarterback change. Jonas
is one that is not necessarily surprising, and as we
just spoke with Mark Slareth, something that we could expect.
Pext And Lynch is going to be the Broncos starting
quarterback for the likely final part of the season. Yes,
some interesting chess matches going on in that game, Dan,
So the Raiders are sitting around and they say, I'll

(01:37:17):
look at that. The Denver Broncos have fired their offensive coordinator. Oh,
look at that. So the Denver Broncos have a new
starting quarterback. All right, you can play this game, Ken Norton,
You're fired his defensive coordinator. One move trumps to the other,
like what are we doing here? Like like who could
fire who? Maybe maybe the Broncos are now hoping the

(01:37:38):
Raiders will make a change at quarterback and put e j.
Manuel into counter that move on, because Derek Carr truly
is one of the few things going with the Raiders
and it's funny when you talk about Raiders and Broncos.
The Raiders are awful. Mark Areth even said, if you
put your you get two guys to block Khalil Mack,
you can do whatever you want against that defense. The

(01:37:58):
Raiders offensive line is very good, but the receivers that
we think by name are great for the Oakland Raiders
haven't been the living up to the name potential. Michael Crabtree,
Amari Cooper, He's had drops there. There were a lot
of issues with Oakland, and then you look at Denver
and they still haven't seemed to solve anything really up

(01:38:20):
front offensively. And now you're going to your third quarterback
where I do believe Paxton Lynch would have been the
guy if he was healthy when they wanted the bench
Trevor Simeon. But this is just six games to say, hey,
if we need to look at Paxton Lynch now and
decide for the future, that's what we're going to do.
But the Denver Broncos and Raiders are in my mind,
so far away from the postseason compared to what else

(01:38:42):
you have in the a f C. I think it's
gonna take a while for the for these teams to
get back to it. And you look at Paxston Lynch
and now he's got six weeks to prove it. The
difference between the Broncos and the Browns is three games.
And I'm seriou that and and I'm not saying that
to be trying to be funny, but the way that
they've moved maneuvered around with their quarterbacks is kind of
what Cleveland has done the last two years. Seriously, Cody Kessler, McCown,

(01:39:06):
r G three, Osweiler, Deshaun Kaiser, he's out, he's in. Like,
it's very reminiscent to what Cleveland has done the last
couple of years. And that's why I still think, and
I'm talking about we were talking about this after it happened,
but I still think there was something more to why
Gary Kubiak walked away, Like I still don't think. I
don't think. I don't believe it was just help. I
think that he saw there was a major issue of

(01:39:27):
quarterback for Denver because they just haven't been able to
figure it out. They just haven't gotten it together, which
makes them winning that Super Bowl that much more impressive
because they didn't really have much of a quarterback then
either and and that defense, that defense carried him. So
it's it's that's just that's a tough spot advanced Joseph.
If this goes as poorly as it's gone, he's never

(01:39:49):
going to get another chance to be a head coach again.
Like this could be a Cam Cameron like to where
he just disappears. He never gets a chance to be
head coach again. So he's got to do whatever he
can to an opportunity. Denver beat Dallas in Week two easily,
And you mentioned that record of how difficult it is
to play in Denver, but this was also a Dallas
team that had their pieces in order. They had Dak

(01:40:10):
Prescott and Zegil Elliott and they went forty two to seventeen.
And you're thinking, while this defense will just keep on rolling,
maybe they've solved the issues up front. When I look
at just take Oakland and Denver for example, where are
playing this week. If Denver can get their quarterback situation
figured out, yeah, it's gonna help them. But they need
a line. They just need they need a good quarterback.

(01:40:31):
And I know that Trevor Simeon was ripped a lot.
The thing that I had with Trevor Simeon. But there
were three or four throws in a game Jonas that
I just you couldn't make any excuse for the level
of quarterback play in the NFL is down. And I
don't think as a whole if you took out those
three or four passes, Trevor Simeon is that much better
or worse than a majority of the guys there. But

(01:40:51):
there were three or four plays that you just can't
make in the National Football League. I don't think brock
Oss Wilder coming back to Denver was any answer. They
just needed Paxton Lynch to get out the But Denver
is still aways from making a push to the playoff.
You mentioned they're tied with the Colts at three and seven,
only the Browns have a worse record than they do.
They've lost their last six and they haven't solved any

(01:41:11):
of the issues from their offensive line from a year ago,
despite trying to bring in Ronald Leary and drafting the
Bulls from Utah. It's just it's a big problem in
Denver's so far away from the Super Bowl that they
won less than two years. Yeah know, it's it's it's
funny how this team a couple of years ago was
winning a Super Bowl and all that, and and and
so everybody gave John credit, John Elway credit. Now it

(01:41:34):
seems like people are sort of blaming John Elway for
the situation they're at a quarterback. And yeah, he definitely
deserves some blame. There's a lot of people there that
deserves deserve some blame. But I'm not gonna immediately go
out and say, well, you know, John Elway doesn't know
how to he he doesn't know what he's doing when
it comes to uh to drafting a quarterback. Man teams
bomb all the time and decisions they make with quarterbacks.

(01:41:54):
It happens all the time in the NFL. But give
John Elways some credit because he made a lot of
small moves in free agency, brought a lot of talent over,
found a lot of draft draft picks later in the
later rounds of the draft that turned out to be
studs on the defensive side of the ball. So I
just think it's it's one of those things. And you
talk about, you know, quarterback play was down, and that

(01:42:16):
seems to coincide with the fact that line play has
been down in the NFL for for a few years now.
But I think that teams have sort of had to
adjust on on, you know, getting guys in there who
can be mobile enough when something breaks down, like Russell Wilson.
If if the Seahawks didn't have Russell Wilson and they
just had a guy that would stay in the pocket,

(01:42:36):
you know this, I mean, how many plays does he
make with his legs to keep them in games and
keep a lot And it's one of the reasons why
they haven't invested as much in and not not to
to switch to Seattle on this, but do you see
Seattle now realizing as well the fact that, okay, you
need to at least have somebody block. Yes, And when
you look at this window, and when you talk about

(01:42:57):
windows for the Denver Broncos and windows for the Oakland Leaders,
the Seahawks window obviously they felt was closing after this year.
It's something that I felt all along that this was
going to be the last stance, and you saw it
with the moves that they made. They traded away a pick,
the second round pick to get Sheldon Richardson. They've traded
away the third round pick in eighteen to the Houston

(01:43:17):
Texans to bring in Dwayne Brown. All for this year
to try to make a run. And now that's kind
of gone out the window. When I look at Denver
and I see the window that they had, we we
sometimes miss judge windows. Denver's windows closed. It's over, it's shut,
it's done. Now you've got to figure out how do
you make your next run to it? When you look
at the Denver window, what's amazing for what John always did.

(01:43:40):
And I know he's getting a lot of criticism for
what he has done with the quarterback position as of late.
Let's be honest, if John Elway isn't there, Peyton Manning
probably doesn't go to Denver. Okay, that window started when
Peyton Manning was brought in and then ended after he retired.
That's when that closed to go along with their great defense.
So when you're looking at windows, people think that these
windows are are huge. I don't know what window the

(01:44:01):
Oakland Raiders have. I know Derek Carr is a good quarterback.
I just don't think he has a lot of help
on either side of the ball. So if I'm looking
at the two windows at like Oakland situation a little
bit more than Denver, but neither of them are good.
Even if Denver thinks they're going to be refreshed with
a Paxton Lynch start. Uh. That's the one thing I've
always said about windows, Dan, some are open, some are closed.

(01:44:24):
Some you can see through. You can see that's good. Alright.
So Dan Buyer Jonas knocks in for Doug gott Leep
here on Fox Sports Radio. You can find us on
the I Heart Radio app as well. You can get
Dan on Twitter at Dan Buyer on Fox, or you
can get me at the Jonas Knocks Up. Next, though,
there is a there's something in the world of sports
that almost everybody is a part of, including you. We're

(01:44:47):
going to take it to a whole nether level next.
But first, for all the latest from around the world
of sports. Isaac Low and Cron, Jonas and Dan. The
Oakland Raiders today fired defensive core Nader Ken Norton Jr.
Replacing him with John Pagano. Norton was in his third
season as the Raiders defensive coordinator. Oakland is a disappointing

(01:45:08):
four and six. The nerds over at the ALIAS Sports
Bureau excuse me. The professional statisticians at the ALIAS Sports
Bureau with active social lives note that the Raiders are
the only defensive unit in the modern era of the
NFL to not record a single interception in the first

(01:45:29):
ten games of a season. When the Raiders host the
Broncos Sunday, multiple outlets report the Denver starting QB will
be Paxton Lynch, even though Trevor Simeon had started the
first seven and Brock Oswiler had started the last three,
and finally, even though Teddy Bridgewater is back on the
active roster. Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer's team is eight
and two on a six game winning street confirmed today

(01:45:51):
that Case Keenan will remain the starting QB for Thursday's
game against the Lions, and he did so with some
high praise. The thing I liked most about Case he's
got big balls. You know, he's not afraid. Hey, he's
not He's not afraid. He's gonna pull the trigger and
he's gonna play like that. So, um, you know that's
a good thing. One more thing, Jonas and Dan. Moments ago,

(01:46:12):
the Seattle Seahawks just announced that they have waived veteran
defensive end Dwight Freeney back. Do you guys all right,
thanks Isaak? Yeah, the Seahawks letting Freeney, the veteran go
Dion Jordan, whose kind of a reclamation project after being
a third overall pick of the Dolphins a few years back.
He's been playing a little bit better, but Seahawks are
banged up. He was good to have him for some
depth through the Seahawks, but other issues arise. Again. Defense

(01:46:35):
didn't play as bad. They just couldn't get off the
field and third down last night, which was a big
issue against Atlanta. You feel better, though, a little bit better. No,
I still have that pit in my stomach. It's yeah,
it's very very weird. It It makes it just, uh,
you know what. I what helps the pit in the stomach? Dan,
what would that be? Heroin? Oh? I was thinking of
something else. Does it get any better? I think it's

(01:47:00):
the John Ramo Shows, The John Ramo Show, Ramo Show,
This is the John Ramino Sports on Box Radio. Here's

to be back. Let's do it. What a great Monday

(01:48:06):
night football game we had last night, Ryan, between the
Falcons and the Seahawks. You got that right, John, The
Falcons almost blew another lead. You're right, and it's funny.
I don't really know what blowing the lead actually feels like.
I'm not sure what you're talking about, John, What do
you mean, Well, in soccer, we're always losing. I didn't
never have a chance to blow it. My favorite phrases

(01:48:32):
in the history of sports, and I'll share them with
you next on the John Rommel Show. It's spider Man
from the Elastic Superhero Think we're got to say that's
Jonah Knocks. I'm Dan Buyer. Oh, we're back on. Everybody

down type of team. Whenever someone gets injured, we bring
the next guy down the line. Thanks for joining us, Pink.
Number nine. We like to look at the schedule several
games ahead. We think about multiple games at one time.

(01:49:59):
Do the Tom constraints me? Now? Move ahead in the program.
We are really good. We don't have to improve at
all or get any better at number one. Have the

(01:50:20):
Drug World? It is what it wasn't that's really good?
Pull tight show to what is that in the like?
Look at that guy Buttons doesn't know what's going on?

(01:50:44):
Oh Salgon traffic does is the show for the people
and by the people, And we're here from you. Next
on the John Bamos Show, He's drunk, Guys drunk Dan,

(01:51:04):
that's amazing is this musical? Guests just kept playing, keep playing,
and it's so clear. It's like it's off their album.
It's not like live or anything. They're so good. Let's
hear it for Pink. Yeah, most like we're violating copyrights. Hey,
what's going on with Christina Aguilera. Don't worry, we'll get
to that before the end of the show with Pink
during our end depth interview. Also coming up, we'll check

(01:51:27):

(01:52:13):
John loved the show. I'm a die hard Patriots fan.
It looks like the Patriots finally figured out their defensive issues.
Do you think they can win it all again this season?
That's a great question. Wow, such a good good question
from Sean in Boston. They might okay, by the John,
I have one here, Yes, John, This is from Kevin

(01:52:35):
and Denver. Talked a lot about Denver obviously, Uh Ramos,
I just saw that the Broncos are gonna start Paxton
Lynch at quarterback this week? Is he really a better
option than Brock Osweiler or even Trevor Simeon. Well that's
a great question, seriously, a very good question from Kevin.
He could be. I got one from Ashley here in Cleveland. Hi, John,

(01:52:57):
big fan of the show. Love your work. Yes, the
self looks look really good this season. And as a
Cavaliers fan, I'm a little worried. Are they going to
prevent lebron from going to the finals again? Oh? No,
it's another great question. They have all been really really
great questions tonight. That's all the time we have for you.
A big thanks to everyone who tweeted and using the
hashtag the John Ramo Show. Also thanks to Pink for

(01:53:19):

I've missed the Holy Trinity. But at least I heard
most of the John Ramo Show, So there's the silver
lining with that. Yeah, John Ramo, Joe and Peter Sanchez, go,

(01:55:17):
guys love the John Ramo Show. Very insightful. You don't
hear that one quite a bit? Yeah, I thought. I mean,
I'll be honest, I mean, we're not on the area,
so I think I'm comfortable enough to say this to
you since we're in a break. But I I mean,
I thought that was one of the worst editions of
the Gen Ramo Show I've ever heard. I just thought
that they was really lacking in energy and content. I thought, John, really,
oh we are on the air, that's unbelievable. I'm sorry,

(01:55:37):
I got that, no idea, I don't think. Listen, it's
the best part of the show every time he does
the best part of the show. And what people think
when we're doing the John Ramo Show that sometimes because
his laugh is so good that oh, this is just
him selling it. He's just trying to sell that. No. No,
when there's a screw up, it's not meant to be
a screw it's just it's live and we're just weighing it.

(01:55:58):
It's fun, man. I do like how they planned to
have I Love l A played during the one part
of the Maybe maybe we'll get some of that in
the press, the press. Alright, Ryan Music are executive producer
here to get us cut up to date of what's
happening in the world of sports today. Hello Ryan, Hello Dan,

(01:56:19):
Hello Jonas, Hello John Ramos. Two pieces of news in
the a f C West. You guys have already talked
about it about for those who are just now joining us.
The Oakland Raiders have parted ways, but defensive coordinator Ken
Norton Jr. As well as the Denver Broncos will reportedly
start quarterback Paxton Lynch this week. Um, Okay, the Raiders

(01:56:40):
probably need to part with eight of their defense, and
they may need to part with at least their pass
catchers because Derek Carr isn't getting a lot of help.
The Raiders, for as great as their offensive line also
thought to be, can't cover up the warts that are
on that team. But I thought that Marshawn Lynch was

(01:57:01):
was there to be the thing that was going to
get him over the top and into the Super Bowl. Dan, Oh,
so it was a big PR stunt. Not acceptable? Okay,
I'm sorry. Uh. Sticking in the a f C West,
We'll follow up on the Denver Broncos. John Elway got
himself into a little bit of trouble. This is going
back to Friday night. He was speaking at an event

(01:57:22):
at Sports Authority Field that mile high where he said,
I will tell you, I think we got a little
bit soft when talking about their slow start to the season.
I think we got a little bit soft. To be
dead honest with you, I think we got a little
bit soft. Some players such as Brandon Marshall and Chris
Harris Jr. Sort of pushed back against those comments. Now
today John Elway has come out and said on an
interview with The Orange and Blew seventy six, he said,

(01:57:45):
I was talking about everybody in the organization. When you've
had success, sometimes you get soft, and I put myself
at the front of it. Quality control softened up as
of late. I wish he would have just come out
and said, listen, I was hammered. Okay, We're at a
function there. It was open bar, and I just got
a little loose with my with my vocabulary, my words,

(01:58:06):
and it just got away from me a little bit.
I would have respected that. Remember, hey started out three
and one on the season, didn't have his right Yeah, yeah, exactly.
Going France, speaking of DeAndre France will let's go to
college football. Baker Mayfield came under some fire because of

(01:58:30):
his uh gesture towards the Kansas players. Well, now Kansas
has come out and done their part. Their head coach
David Beatty announced that the three captains who refused to
shake Baker Mayfield's hand before the game will now also
be disciplined and won't be serving as captains for their
game against Oklahoma State on Saturday. Although not being named,

(01:58:52):
not being a captain for Kansas football is probably a
promotion you think about. Hey, I thought it was interesting
how Kansas refused to tackle Oklahoma in that game. That
was another issue, aside from shaking Baker Mayfield's hand. Yeah, like,
it's uh, I don't want to be the captain of Kansas.
Would you want to be the captain of Kansas. I'd
rather be in the band Kansas. Oh yeah, yeah, here's

(01:59:16):
a here's the thing. It's like the Hindenburg. The pilot
is gonna get blamed for that, not the stewardest. I'd
rather be the stewardest. I cannot tell you that. In
my college football travels of back in the day, it
is it is mind boggling to me that I saw
back to back Orange Bowls featuring Louisville against Wake Forest,

(01:59:36):
the next year Kansas against Virginia Tech. Well, it was
that dynamite Foxtailgate tour. Dan. I would not watch him
if they were playing on the second floor of that
parking ramp across the street. You don't give up. Unbelievable.
Where's Mike North says? If they were playing in my backyard,
I'd shut the drapes from college football. Let's go to

(01:59:58):
college basketball guy. As one of the highly touted prospects
in college basketball, Michael Porter Jr. Of Missouri will likely
not play this entire season. The school announced on Tuesday
that he will have a back procedure known as a
micro desectomy, and he is expected to take at least
three to four months. He went out and also released
this quote. I cannot wait to be completely healthy and

(02:00:20):
playing the game I love once again. I am a
fan of the proposal by the NBA to make kids
stay in college two years or go from high school
straight to the NBA. But if you go to college,
you go to two years. I think this is a
perfect situation where you could see an injured player benefiting
from a rule like that. If he was, if he

(02:00:41):
dealt with that in the NBA Jonas, you would have
the team be able to take care and go through
all the precautions that they needed. Now it's almost I
feel like he's in limbo because he's probably not going
to play for Missouri ever, he'll enter the draft. It's
best for him even with the injury. And now you're
just kind of caught in the middle because it could
help draft stock and it's always going to be always

(02:01:02):
going to be a knock on. Remember Jared Solinger at
Ohio State and it was always about his back issues
and everything else going on with him, and it was
always a knock with him. Now he since he's running
into some other issues. But but yeah, we're coming out
in the draft. I think you should be. There should
be some options available to these guys. Last one, last
one here in the MLB, uh former Braves GM John

(02:01:23):
Coppalella has been permanently banned base for his rules violation
in the International Market. Commissioner Rob Manfred said they must
forfeit thirteen prospects, pay a four point to five million
dollar fine. Whoa Braves Yes, wow. At the Copalla pressed,

(02:01:45):
that was the press. He is cheating over there. He
just doesn't seem to care. Now he is stripped of
thirteen prospects and the braves continue to stink. Barry mantelt,
how about that there was a little damn That was great?
All right, thanks, It's Thanksgiving week. More Mami invitational tonight,
Jonas I like in the semifinal Lock of the Century,

(02:02:08):
take all your money and bet
