Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listen, and John Ramos is here as well. Glad
to have you with us on this Friday, and most
of us are looking forward to the weekend. Let's be honest.
You know it's Friday. You're ready to start this weekend.
There's gonna be beautiful weather in southern California, hopefully it's

(00:23):
beautiful across the country. I'm not sure how much the
Toronto Raptors are really looking forward to the weekend, considering
what happened last night in Toronto as Lebron James of
the Cleveland Cavaliers went up to oh in the best
of seven Eastern Conference semifinal series. Not only were their
worst dreams realized in Game one, Jonas, but those nightmares

(00:45):
returned yesterday with the Cavaliers outscoring the Raptors by twenty
in the second half to get an eighteen point Game
two victory. Well, you know, I don't like to be
one of those people that goes on the air and
says I told you we had it first. We had
that info fors here on this show. But we were
talking about how the Game one loss kind of felt
a little bit different than normal losses. He almost felt

(01:08):
like that was a bad one. And it was weird
because I the game's on, I'm paying a little bit
of attention, and then I'm going over some other stuff.
And about ten minutes later, I look and the Calves,
who were down by seven are now up by eight,
and I knew the game was over, and it was
it was done. There was Toronto had no shot because

(01:30):
once you get hit like that the first game, you
better come out and play balls out. And also, look
Charles Barkley betting, you know, picking Toronto and picking Philadelphia.
He's the kiss of death. He's worse than Arnie Span
your Fox Sports radio host. When they call something, just
go the complete opposite way. They're terrible. And so you
just knew that when they got down in that game
late in the second half, all the all the air

(01:52):
left the building. There was no no hype. It's supposed
to have this great home court advantage. Those fans all knew.
They were just there watching and ass whipping, and that's
the way it had to be. And to have a
home court advantage, you have to have the fans believe
or at least understand the moment. And unfortunately for Toronto fans,
I think they understood way too well. They knew what
was going on. They knew what was happening. They saw

(02:14):
it before their eyes, and as much as maybe they
wanted to get into it, you just knew that building
felt and it wasn't it was. Kevin Love was great
last night, But when Lebron took over in the third
quarter with the multiple fadeaway rainbows, that's when you knew.
As you said, when it was just eight points, they
had absolutely no answer for Lebron. We saw how they

(02:37):
reacted to the final minutes minutes in Game one, it
was over. And when you look at what Lebron did
last night, I don't want to say it's his greatest
playoff performance because I still think Game five, two thousand
seven Conference Finals when he was the one man show
against a really darn goood Pistons team. There also maybe
other NBA Finals appearances. Last night, Jonas for him to

(02:59):
get Kevin Love involved because he was an assist man
at first, and then to be like, all right, I'm
just gonna end it. This is over. Dominated, dominated in
the scoring box, he was a distributor early and then
put the nail on the coffin one of the greatest
playoff performances I've seen from Lebron. You know, the NBA
has gotta be ecstatic. And this is not to take
a shot at Toronto, because there's gonna be plenty of

(03:20):
shots taking a Toronto all throughout the course of the
day and into the weekend. But the NBA has got
to be ecstatic because the idea of not having Lebron
in the Eastern Conference with all the injuries and the unknowns,
pitted against a Western Conference team, either Golden State or Houston,
the NBA wanted no part of. You could say whatever
you want about Lebron, but he's one of those when

(03:42):
you have one name, you're a big deal, all right,
Like just think about all the great one name acts
share Madonna, Lebron Ramos, Like you just think about all
the great one name acts, and Lebron goes right up
to that elite class. And I think the NBA has
gotta be thrilled with this. Last night was a great
win for the Calves, but it really is more about

(04:03):
the Raptors, And maybe the Raptors have no one to
blame but themselves, and maybe they have no one to
blame but Dwayne Casey, because after last night's game, Lebron
James was talking about the Raptors head coach Dwayne Casey,
of course, came to Toronto after having an assistant stint
with the Dallas Mavericks, and it was the Mavericks who

(04:25):
beat the Heat in the NBA Finals. In This was
Lebron after last night's game. Yeah, I wasn't that good
of a player, and in that series, I wasn't a
complete basketball player. You know, Dwayne Casey drew up a
game plan against me in that eleventh series in the
finals when I played Dallas to take away things that
I was very good at. It to try to make
me do things that I wasn't very good at. He's
part of the reason why I am who I am today.

(04:47):
I think a very interesting comments from Lebron to keep
credit to a coach right now that maybe needs all
the consoling that he can get. Now you talking about
a team and a fan base, Jonas that I'm watching
last night, and as I look at the Eastern Conference,
whether Lebron stays in the East or doesn't stay in
the East as if I'm a Toronto basketball fan, I

(05:09):
wonder if it's worth even even keeping this this franchise
where it is. I know you just signed Tomorrow Rosen
a couple of years ago to a big contract. Kyle
Lowry's under a big contract. But I just don't know
if this core can compete when it matters most in
the Eastern Conference, even if Lebron is gone and he
has their numbers. You see what Boston and Philadelphia are

(05:31):
putting together. I don't know if the future is that
bright in Toronto. And I'm not wondering if they've almost
peaked and are going to be able to get over
that hump. Ever in the Eastern Conference, let's go back
about a year and a half ago, or a little
less than a year and a half ago. And when
we go back to a little less than a year
and a half ago, the team that got praised almost
more than any other team at the trade deadline was

(05:52):
the Toronto Raptors because they went out and got aggressive.
They went out and got Serge Ibaka, they went out
and traded for PJ. Tucker and traded away a first
round pick. And the team that got all the praise
was the Toronto Raptors because they're going for it. Man,
They're not waiting around like that idiot Danny Ainge who's
hoarding his draft picks and wouldn't make a deal for
Paul George. I remember thinking at the time, all right,

(06:16):
but if it still doesn't work, then what well guess what.
It didn't work last year? And what did they do
this offseason? They went all out again. They signed Sergeybacket
to that big money deal. They went out and they
tried to upgrade their roster, and they two years in
a row have gone all in to beat Lebron James.
And since going all in to beat Lebron James, there

(06:38):
owen six against him in the playoffs. So when you
swing and miss not only once but twice, you have
now set your franchise back because you chase something that
you totally misread or totally misunderstood. And at some point,
I know every he's like the media darling. Everybody loves
uh Dwayne Casey and and he should be coach of

(06:58):
the Year. Um, who were the injuries on Toronto? Like?
What what are the banged up players? Like? They seem
to have everybody they're ready to go at something. Doesn't
he get some blame at some point? And now I
I will say this, I don't put it much as
much of it on Dwayne Casey is the simple fact
of I just wonder if we thought that Kyle Lowry

(07:19):
and DeMar Derosen were better than they actually are. If
we did, then so did the Raptors organization. So that's
on them. I just I look at it as is
this a team that is just maxed out with what
they've got. The Raptors got better this year because Derosen
was able to improve with this three point shooting, was
more selective with a shot, but also because they were

(07:41):
a deeper team. They were a team that went ten
deep that they could play ten guys. You almost had
a I don't want to say a second starting five,
but your bench at times save the Raptors this season.
So when you look at that as a whole, as
a reason why they were a team that took that
next step and ended up being the top seed in
the East and the best record of the East and
the home court advantage throughout, I just think that that's

(08:03):
their ceiling. And and and this happens in the National
Football League when you look at at teams that you
think have built something together and then all of a
sudden realized, Okay, we've spent all these years to to
to put these pieces in place, and you're like, this
is all we've got. We can make it into the
into the playoffs, but we can't beat New England or

(08:24):
we can't move past this round. That's what I think
the Toronto Raptors are dealing with right now. And you
have to wonder, all right, is it worth is it
worth just sliding along and maybe hoping Lebron leaves the
East and there's some other injuries where you can make
it to an NBA finals, or is it like we
really need to need to evaluate what we are as
as a team, because I just don't see the Raptors
rising to the top of the East. Dan, when you

(08:46):
think I'm gonna give you a couple of tail the
tape numbers for you, When you think thirty two going
on thirty three next year and six ft tall in
the NBA, do you think peaking or do you think
probably looking at the downside of his career, Probably looking
at the downside. That's Kyle Lowry. All right, So you

(09:07):
are now attached to Kyle Lowry, who's gonna be thirty
three next playoff series. The guys in undersized guard and
you're going to expect him to all of a sudden
do something that you couldn't do when he was in
his prime. And that's give pasted Lebron James with Demard
Rose and the rest of those crew. Listen, we're talking
about before the show. You can go through the NFL
in the last ten to fifteen years and you can

(09:27):
identify and I was able to identify in US together
three teams, all right, the San the San Diego Chargers,
that then San Diego Chargers who had a ton of talent. Man,
that fourteen and two team in two thousand and six
was loaded and they got to the postseason. They got
to buy in the playoffs. They got the Patriots and

(09:48):
they lost. And then you can go to the Cincinnati Bengals,
who went to the playoffs every single year and invented
new ways to lose in the postseason. And even more recently,
the Kansas City Chiefs was another one that that I
thought of Toward the Kansas City Chiefs, you know, every
time you watch them in the regular season, just like

(10:09):
the Raptors, Man, this is awesome. They're really fun, great
fan base, they get really loud. Which round they gonna
lose in the first round, of the second round. It's
just never any any grows with the With the Chiefs,
there's at least something to look forward to. With Patrick Mahomes.
I'll put the Raiders in it as well, because I
think if you look at the duo of De Rosan

(10:29):
and Kyle Lowry, you can make a parallel to what
the Raiders have in Derek Carrnamari Cooper. And on paper
it looks amazing. Oh this is look at this one
to combination almost can't you realize? Okay, well, maybe are
you know? We've we've got this great offensive line, but
the scheme that they run and what they should do
doesn't match up. Maybe Amari Cooper, Oh wait, Michael Crabtree

(10:52):
has been the best receiver on that team the last
couple of years. Maybe Derek Carr, who's been dealing with
injuries and hasn't progressed. Maybe what you have isn't as
great of what you thought it was. They made the
one playoff appearance, and of course card the broken leg,
they ended up having to have Connor Cook, the rookie
the third string start a playoff game, and now you wonder, okay,
can Oakland even make it back in they had to

(11:13):
make the big splash with with Jon Gruden. I think
the Bengals is a good example because now all of
a sudden you're saying like we've got Andy Dalton, We've
got Andy Dalton, and I are like, we got Andy Dalton,
like like that's what it is, Like, that's what we
have got and that's where it's those. The Raiders and
the Bengals are the two the teams that I think
that you can look at the Toronto Raptors and be like,

(11:34):
all right, we got something going here, and then you
just can't make it past and be like what do
we really what do we really have? All right, let
me let me ask you this. This is a serious
question here, right. You are not going to get this
type of comprehensive NFL questioning done anywhere else on radio,
Big Game one game to win it all? At quarterback?
Who would you rather have Andy Dalton or Dalton from Roadhouse?

(12:01):
Probably probably Dalton from Again, I agree that's that is
there is a right answer to that, and you just
gave a damn that is a correct answer. Dalton from
Roadhouse would be the correct answer. Look, that's why when
every like if you're like go to Baseball. You're you're
the l A Dodgers. Remember the Rangers when they went
to the World Series back to back years. When's the

(12:22):
last time they were even approaching a World Series or
anybody actually thought the Rangers could make a legitimate run.
What do they want to lose a playoff game with?
I think Cole Hamills started a couple of years ago
or something like that. When you get there, you've got
a cash in, man, because you can't expect that you're
just gonna go back every year. If you're a Dodger fan,
you know last year was a really golden opportunity with

(12:43):
a Game seven at Dodger Stadium, and you choked. And
if you're if you're a Dodger fan going into this year,
you see all these injuries and all this and you
look around and go, man, maybe that that was that
was it. Maybe that was our best shot. Like if
you're the Raptors, and you're a Raptor and deep down
you have to know it's only going to get worse
from here. Darryl Feeling and the Raptors weren't a strike

(13:07):
away from winning the NBA title twice, just like Rangers were.
You wonder you wonder why Ron Washington may have turned
to blow. Okay, let's let's think about how that world
series ended. This is the Dog Gottlieb Show on Fox

Playoffs are rolling on Last night, the Cavaliers got a
big victory in Toronto. Well, the Celtics went up to

(15:11):
oh in their series with the Philadelphia seventy sixers. To
talk about that and more, are Good Friend from NBA
TV and also radio hosting The Great City of Atlanta
ninety two point nine The Game. Rick Cambla joins us
here on Fox Sports Radio. Hey, Rick Heavy, may how
you doing? Yeah? May the fourth be with you? Right
or something like that? I don't know always. Uh yeah,
I'm excited, man. I got a music festival in Atlanta

(15:32):
to go to, uh later today and tomorrow. It's called
Shaky Knees. Uh. Queens of the Stone Age is playing
tomorrow and I man, so I'm psyched. I'm gonna great.
Cambla's gonna get hammered. He's gonna get hammered on weekend. Uh. Um.
Sobriety is not going to be a priority, and I
will not be driving. Uh my wife Charity will be
driving or will be bubering. Yes, um, but yeah, I'm

(15:55):
I'm I'm having fun. Man. I'm I'm blowing the lid
off at this one. Might as well because some of
these NBA playoff series may be done before they even began.
But we're gonna talk NBA. But I do want to
get the thoughts on the Matt Ryan extension in Atlanta yesterday,
becoming the first thirty million dollar a year quarterback. What
was the I I assumed the response was positive in Atlanta,

(16:17):
but how does this deal set forth the direction of
the Atlanta Falcons. Well, Dan, you may be surprised to
hear that the reaction in Atlanta wasn't all peaches and cream.
There are some people, yeah, no, there. You know, we
took a lot of calls today and we spent the
majority of our four hour show on the Ryan extension. Um.
I'll get to my opinion in a second. Uh, there's
a lot of people in Atlanta that are on board

(16:39):
with the contract and on board with Matt Ryan. And
there are a lot of people in Atlanta, like a
big percentage guys, not ten percent, maybe it's thirty or
forty that just don't like Matt Ryan and never will.
And Matt Ryan, um, you know, has been He's the
best player in Falcon's history. He's by far the best
quarterback in I think he's the best player in Falcon's history.

(17:02):
But for some reason, people hold stuff against him that
I don't think they should be holding against him. Guys,
he had seven passes last year hit a receiver in
the hands and turned into an interception to the other team.
But some people just focus on the turnover number. No,
you have to be deeper into it to realize that
he got let down by his receivers All year, the

(17:24):
Falcons let the NFL and drop passes. Uh. And so
if you want you know twenty two ts, where were
the TVs? There are your tds uh that we're missing
from the NBP season. In terms of my opinion, you've
got Garoppolo at seven, You've got cousins of Ryan had
to be north of those two guys, but he but
to me, he shouldn't have gone well north of that

(17:46):
because then, as you guys know, the economics come in
and you might have to say goodbye to a Divin
Dry Campbell, a Dion Jones, a Kian O'Neil, a Tevin Coleman.
Maybe you won't be able to resign all those guys.
So I think it was a deal that met perfect
me in the middle of team friendly and player friendly
and my god, a hundred and fifty million dollars. It's

(18:06):
just it's crazy money. Rick, what's going on with Julio
jones Um In terms of of the the Yeah, the
relationship there is that just overblown by national media. What
have you heard there? Locally? I think it is overblown
by national media. There's good like you. We we talk
all the times. You guys me. You know where they're smoke,

(18:28):
there's fire. There's not even smoke. I really don't think
there's smoke. I think he cleansed his uh social media.
I don't. I've never done that. Um, I dabble in Twitter.
I'm not an Instagram guy. I'm not a Facebook guy'
just's not cool enough. I guess, not tech enough, I guess,
but I just Twitter is my thing and I just
stick to that. I guess he cleansed all of his, um,

(18:50):
his social media stuff. I don't know what the hell
that means. Um, I don't think there's any trouble in Paradise.
If there was, guy, if I'm wrong and there is
something going on, to me, it would be contractual. It
would be the fact that Julio has slipped to the
fifth or sixth highest paid receiver in the NFL and
obviously being considered a top two or three guy. That
doesn't really compute. UM, I'm fine with the number he

(19:12):
is on. Let me say this, Julio Jones has been
one of the greatest underachievers at scoring touchdowns in NFL history.
This is a guy that when he's done, the receptions
and the yards are gonna be totally Hall of Fame worthy.
The touchdowns are not get three touchdowns last year? Guys
he drops falls they don't really know and happened for
a decade. How to get him the rock in the

(19:33):
red zone on jump balls and stuff like that. Uh
and so and Julio had seven eight nine drops last year. Um,
Like I said on the radio in Atlanta. All the time,
I'm rider and I with Julio, But right now he's
in my doghouse. Yeah, I Rick Camblet joining us. I
I agree, And I said, if you watched the Falcons,
and I always thought, if you watch Matt Ryan when
he really needs to go to a guy he trusts,

(19:55):
he goes to Mohammed Sanu and and Davante Freeman is paid.
Matt Ryan's paid. You mentioned the guys that you're gonna
have to pay. I just don't know long term, and
I know where this It may be weird to think
considering who he has got a couple of years left,
but if the Falcons are gonna make it back to
a super Bowl and win a super Bowl, it's not
because of Julio Jones. And I think that they get

(20:16):
there maybe without Julio Jones. I just don't think he's
as important as we may want to look. And I
think there are other ways that the Falcons beat you,
and it's not necessarily always Julio Jones. I guess in
a way, I agree with you. I don't know if
maybe you don't agree with what I said, but I
just don't see the importance. No, Dan, I think you're
I think you're hitting and hitting the nail on the head.
I look, Julio, I just said he's a future Hall

(20:38):
of Fame guy. He is a freak of nature and
he's also overrated. Um To to put him in a
debate with Antonio Brown, to me is laughable. It is
absolutely laughable. To catch that Antonio Brown made in the
Jacksonville game and the playoffs just just stop, okay, um.
I actually think the new Copkins of the Houston Texans
is right there at a Julio level, and maybe even
a little bit abuff because he doesn't drop is because

(21:00):
he does make the amazing catch um. You know, he
had the catch of the year. I thought last year, now,
Julio did have that unbelievable catching the Super Bowl to
set the team up to win the game, and they
screwed it up. I'm not I'm not dissing him as
a great wide wide receiver, but because of the lack
of touchdowns, because of the drops, which have been a
recurring team throughout his career, I do think he's a

(21:21):
little overrated. Rick Campbell NBA TV on with us here
Fox Sports Radio, Dan Buyer Jonas knocks him for Doug Gottlieb.
I want to get to the NBA ricking, and I
want to ask you on the Calves and Raptors series.
You being in Atlanta, does this Raptors predicament where you've
got Kyle Lowry, who's gonna who's approaching his mid thirties.
He's thirty two now, will be thirty three next year.

(21:41):
You've got Kyle Lowry, and you've got a team that's
gone for it at the trade deadline last year and
then the off season this year, and their best isn't
good enough to beat Lebron James. Does this remind you
of locally those Atlanta Hawks teams from a couple of
years ago. That's such a good call by you. Yeah,
does you know Toronto was one in the East this

(22:02):
year looks like they're gonna get swept by Cleveland. Now
it's around earlier Atlanta met Cleveland in the East Finals,
got swept, lost all four games. That was the year
in Atlanta won sixty they had four All Stars, they
won nineteen consecutive games, best season in the regular season
in franchise history. Uh and, and there are a lot

(22:22):
of comparisons. And why why Travis Schlank came in as
the gem of the Hawks and tore the thing down?
Is exactly what you said. You've got Dwight, You've got
mill Sep, You've got you know, you had Horford before
to I got all these guys. It's not good enough.
You're You're You're going to the first round, maybe the
second round. When you finally broke through with your with
your masterpiece season, you got run in four straight games

(22:44):
by the big boys from Cleveland. You know what I'm saying.
So there are a lot of similarities. Um, Serjebaca is
destroying the Raptors right now. Pretty much every guy on
that team help handled their business last night. Think about it.
They shot fifty as a team. Lowry was good, to
Rosen was good. All these Valancunis was good. Searchebacca is
letting them down big time. Rick Cambell of NBA TV

(23:06):
and at the two point on the game in Atlanta,
joining us here on Fox Sports Radio, I got one
quickly on tonight. Are the Rockets in trouble with Utah?
Or was game to just one of those games where
shots didn't fall, maybe their defense wasn't up to power
for what they usually had. Was that a hiccup? Or
do you think this could be a theme in the series. Um? I,
I do think they're in trouble. I think they're in

(23:28):
for a long series. I would still pick them to
win it because I think there will be a Game
seven in Houston, and we've already seen in the first
round that the home court advantage in Game seven was
just too much to overcome for the road team. Um.
But whereas going into Game two it was looking like, whoa,
this is a mismatch, Well, now it's game on and
it's it's a stair down. So I think we're going
along in this series. Um And to your point about

(23:49):
maybe being in trouble, you go back to the the
romo nous of Chris Paul, you go back to the
roman nous of James Harden, and you go back to
the romo nous of the You read of the NBA
and Mike D'Antoni. These are guys who are exceptional off
the chart regular season players and coaches, and when it
gets to the playoffs, it typically does not end well.

(24:10):
So to your point about them maybe being in trouble,
I would play that card Rick as somebody. Last one
for me is somebody who saw him play for the
first nine years of his career there in Atlanta. How
surprised are you at the performance of Al Horford in
these playoffs. I'm not one bit surprised. Um, this is
you know, there were people in Atlanta that you know,
we gotta get rid of out. He doesn't put it

(24:30):
off enough numbers. We'll watch the game, Like if you're
just looking at the box score and you see thirteen points,
eight boards, four assists, blocking a steer a big deal, right, Well,
watch the game and you see all the little stuff
that Al Horford does. He is a He is a winner, um,
and I'm I'm a huge fan. He's one of the
most versatile centers the NBA has ever seen. Think about it.

(24:50):
This guy can get a defensive rebound and put it
on the floor and bring it up a little bit
and then find a guard. Um, he's got a three
point shot. That's nails right now. I'm a big Al
Horford fan. I'm not surprised all. Rick Cablan is a winner,
and we thank him for joining us today here I'm
on nine two nine the game in Atlanta, and I
also see him on NBA TV. Enjoy the music this weekend. Rick,
we pet after a Rick. Thank you guys. Dan Jonas

(25:12):
rock on Rick will be like, why are there four
bands on stage? No, there's only one. You're just seeing four.
That's what's gonna happen. Can't wait till the t m
Z video comes out of Rick Cambla doing self beer bongs.
Oh gosh, I'll tell you what. By Saturday night, these
playoffs could be over, at least in the Eastern Conference.
If the Calves and Celtics picks pick up wins on Saturday.
He is Dan buyer. I'm Jonas knocks him for Doug

(25:34):
Gottlieb here Fox Sports Radio as we uh coming up
next year on fs ARE. You can get Dan on
Twitter by the way, at Dan Byron Fox. You can
give me at the Jonas Knocks up next year. There
is there was a move made in sports strategically for
another move after it, Dan, and I will tell you
what that is. But for all the latest from around
the world of sports, you just go ahead and you

(25:54):
just you tune out everything else in the world, and
you pay your respects to the great Steve to sink
a simple hello, good afternoon, gentleman. We do have a
couple of NBA playoff games, by the way, tonight. That
includes Golden State, already up two games to none, continuing
at second round series at New Orleans a p m.
Eastern time. Steph Curry will start. Top seed Houston plays

(26:15):
after that at Utah, with that series tied at the
game a piece to NHL playoff games this evening as well.
The Seahawks have released defensive end Cliff Ariel, saying he
failed a physical April head next surgery. Last year, former
Chiefs linebacker Derek Johnson agreed to a deal with the Raiders.
According to NFL Network, NASCAR poll qualifying is on FS
one at Dover, and the Trucks races later today five

(26:36):
pm Eastern Tiger Woods two over par after a second
round seventy three in Charlotte. The projected cut is about
two over and Phil Mickelson's two over midway through his
second round. Right now, the leader American Aaron Wise, has
now just a one stroke advantage. Jason Day is three back.
Rory McElroy still on the course about midway through his
second round. McElroy is four shots back. The Major League

(26:58):
Baseball All Night game for this Friday, but that includes
Atlanta hosting San Francisco, and Jose Bautista joins the Braves tonight.
He'll play third base. Outfielder Preston Tucker goes to Triple A,
and the Dodgers are playing the Padres in Monterey, Mexico
for three games this weekend. At least they've scheduled three games.
There is a chance of rain tonight. Tomorrow's game will
be on FS one, seven pm Eastern time. Back to you,

(27:21):
is there a chance of good baseball? That's what come
on for most of this first one? Yeah, not much,
by the way, Steve Sinco to MYO weekend man, you
know that means I'm working our our beloved Mexico national
team in the World Cup. We can start, Yeah, loves
the Mexican national team along. Yeah. You know, at the

(27:44):
US out of the World Cup this summer and Fox
starting World Cup coverage, you know they're going to treat
Mexico as the home team, which to a t a
fan of the U S team is just disgusting as
I'll get out. It's like I've brought this up before
on the show. It's like if the Dodgers don't make
the play offs but the rival Giants do, and you
say Giants are California team, go ahead for the Giants

(28:05):
this point. No, not a chance. No, listen, that that
all courtesy excuse me in Spanish. No, that all that
all courtesy of the great Steve de Segrez here on
Fox Sports Radio. Not Steve, We're going all in Mexico.
You and I know not we know. Would you still
buy a US Soccer jersey, like a kit as they

(28:25):
call it. I kind of like the new ones. It
really depends on the style, not whether it's new or not.
Because the ones that had the stripes that look like
they're in jail. A few years ago. No, not going
for those. This one is this one is kind of sharp,
but again we're not going to see it in the
World Cup. Oh come on, it's I don't know, it's
well the women next year it would be it would
be like the Lions unveiling a special Super Bowl jersey,

(28:49):
Like this is the jersey we are going to wear
on the Super Bowl. And you never have to worry
about the team with one playoff victory since you could
get I could have used the Brons, but I figure
out why not to get shot at Detroit. Thanks Steve.
He is Steve disager. He'll have a lot more coming
up in game time. And just a little bit, I'm
Dan Buyer. That's Jonas knocks. He is Jon Ramos getting

(29:11):
ready for the weekend and Lebron James getting ready for
a Game three of their playoff series. But also as
you look ahead, Jonas could be getting ready for I
don't know, a move out of Cleveland. New York Post
is saying that the Dave Fizdale hired by the New
York Knicks yesterday was maybe step one in the Knicks
going after Lebron James. And so now we revisit this

(29:32):
story again, we know about the the friendship that Lebron
and and David Fizdale have their time together in Miami.
When you look at now with the New York Knicks,
a team that Lebron was brought up as a possible
what New York Nick and what in that conversation that
you had, So you're starting to draw, you know, connections,

(29:55):
to connect the dots here and there. But New York
really wasn't in the conversation as a late Now with
this Fisdale hiring, it pops up again, and I think
it's more of a threat than people may realize. Just considering,
I think some of the pressure on Lebron is off.
I don't think that bringing a title to New York
as a member of the Knicks would be New York's desire.

(30:20):
I think the Knicks just want to be good again,
and of Lebron went to New York and brought them
back to respectability, which he immediately would do if he played.
I think that that's good enough for Lebron. So if
Lebron really wanted to go to a no pressure situation
or a low pressure situation, I actually think New York
could be a legitimate option for him. Um, it's just
on the David Fizdale front. Everybody coming out going, Man,

(30:41):
what a great higher? Yeah? Why because he had a
cool catchphrase in the postseason and because he's on TV?
Is that? Is that why he's a good the guys
below five a head coach? So why is it a
good hire? The New York Knicks hired him because of
his relationship with Lebron James. Right, it's the worst kept secret,
as you're alluding to, and the Nicks just want to
be relevant again or be talked about in some positive

(31:05):
way again. You can say, like we talked about the
Dallas Cowboys over the past couple of days, Jason Witten
being named Monday Night Football commentator and all this stuff,
and for all these for all the hype and the
worth of the Dallas Cowboys and all of that, what
have they really done? And as a fan you're probably
frustrated like by it. You know, you know, they had

(31:26):
these great players, but these guys really didn't do anything
over the last twenty five years. So yeah, we're kind
of bummed out. You know, it's not bummed out Jerry Jones,
because all he's done has seen the value of the
franchise raise almost every single year, and all they needed
to do was have a couple of decent seasons mixed in.
You don't even need to win a super Bowl, and
Jerry Jones is happy. James Dolan would be thrilled if

(31:46):
they were just in the postseason and a four seed,
and even they lost in the second round, because at
least there would be some buzz back there in the
arena and they wouldn't be a laughing stock anymore. But
I I tend to disagree with you. And if he
goes anywhere else besides Cleveland, the expectation is he's going
there to win a title. I don't think he has

(32:09):
to win another title to prove anything. I think at
this point it's you either believe that he's better than
Michael Jordan's or you don't believe he's better than Michael Jordan's,
And whatever happens is is gravy from here on out.
The second he won a championship in Cleveland, I think
he was set. I think his legacy was set, and
whatever he does from here on out his gravy. I
think his legacy was said in Cleveland, and I I'm

(32:29):
with you on on the comparisons. But if he goes
to l A, are there are the Lakers wanting a championship.
If he goes to l A and they bringing Paul George, yeah,
I think that's I think that's fair. If he goes
to Philadelphia and now you've got him and Joel EMBII
and Ben Simmons, he goes to New York, you don't
even have a healthy Christops Porzingis. I don't think that

(32:52):
the Knicks are looking for a title. I think anything
that Cleveland gets his absolute gravy. He brought them their
one title, like like that's they don't like. The second
time around just won't be what the first one meant.
So his his job in Cleveland, in my mind, is done.
But I don't think that New York would be that title.

(33:15):
Must have place like Philadelphia, like l A, like Houston
as teams that were brought up. I really just think
that you mentioned James Dolan and just wanting the pressure
off of him. I think that would be fine. I
think that New York would be like or at least
Donlan would be like, all right, great, the pressure is
off me. I don't think anything would change with Lebron.
I don't know if you would have the energy to

(33:36):
want to rebuild the New York. But maybe his brand
is good for New York or would be good for
New York. I don't even think that title is I
don't even think title. Maybe in Lebron's mind and we
were tired of David Fizdale would have gotten a job elsewhere, right,
he would have got because he's popular and it's there's
no longer about credentials. He's popular and and they he

(33:57):
would have gotten another gig somewhere else. Why the hell
would anybody want to work with James Dolan? Seriously, Like,
you know, the second you walk into his offices, he's
got his dumb band playing on the speakers. That's probably
all that's playing on the speakers. JD and the Straight
Shot and their six songs over and over again. He's
a nut job. He makes poor basketball decisions. Nobody likes

(34:17):
him there. Why would anybody want to work for that guy?
Why would Lebron James go back to Dan Gilbert? Like
the fact is, it's crazy to think of New York
as a team that doesn't want to win, But I
just think it it would help, Like going back home
was so good for Lebron. It was so good for

(34:39):
his image, and it was so good for everything. And
I think that New York would bring that different angle.
Wom talked about it in eight years was such a conversation.
Maybe a little ina, but was really down to the
calves and and heat at that time. I I think
that it's just step one for what the Knicks are
trying to do. But I actually think it could be
less pressure than another spots Lebron did will give us

(35:00):
something to talk about in the off season, so we
don't have to waste our time at baseball. I'm glad, thankful,
thankful for Lebron to make the move. All right, Dan Buyer,
Jonas Knox, and for Doug Gottlieb Here Fox Sports Radio.
Get Dan on Twitter at Dan Byron Fox. You can
get me a d Jonas Knox. Coming up next year
on Fox Sports Radio, We're going to tell you these
are some of the all time rankings, all right, some
of the rankings that you've never heard anywhere on Sports

(35:22):
Talk Radio. That's next year on FSR. This is the Doug.
He's Jonas Knox, I'm Dan Buyer. That's John Ramos in
for Doug. Today. You can always hear the show on
the I Heart Radio lapp and check it out on
Sirius XM channel eighty three. Is now we check out
what Steve de Sager's up to. This is game time

(35:48):
on the Doug Gottlieb Show. Alright, Steve, what game are
we playing today? By the way, Mr Ramos rang of
most when we're playing, and I'm yeah, thanks, I was here.
I was gonna be so nice and say May the
Fourth be with you? Have you of all people congratulating
you on this fourth near holiday? For John? Are we
ranking the Star Wars movies all episode five? Let's start

(36:12):
with yes, John, at least she didn't dress up today. Man,
I heard that people actually dressed up today on May
the Fourth be with You. I don't even fathom. I'll
tell you what if it doesn't round those cinnamon rolls
that Princess Leo wears, and I think this are those
cinnamon rolls? I think, yeah, you got a cinnamon Yeah?

(36:34):
Can I get two of the princess las when you
get a minute. I actually think and I don't think
this is unreasonable or over the top. And I think
that if you dressed up like a Star Wars character
on on May the four electric chair. Believe electric chair
is fitting. I bet when we get to this, to
the game highlights tonight, there will be people in the
stands plenty of ballparks wearing Star Wars stuff, don't you think? Okay,

(37:00):
I'll go with that guy in Cincinnati first. And no, Well,
let's get to the actual rank of the top three.
Will starting easy with the NBA Playoffs, Your top three
title contenders. Keeping in mind, of course, the top seeds
in the East. Toronto are down o two at this
point in their second round series, Philly's down oh two,
New Orleans down oh two, and playing today. Give me
your top three titled contenduers for this postseason. Well, I've

(37:24):
got the Warriors number one, I've got the Rockets number two,
and I've got the Utah Jazz number three. Eastern teams.
You heard me? Did I stutter? Interesting? Alright, it's tough,
tough talk. Alright, alright, Steve, you ready, yeah, all right?

(37:45):
Number one the Golden State Warriors, Number two the Houston Rockets,
and number three the Minnesota Links. Because after the Warriors
and Rockets, who cares, it doesn't really matter. It's time
for a Star Wars. These are not the teams that
you're after. Man. Top five quarterbacks for you guys in

(38:07):
the nflen top five quarterbacks in the NFL. Alright, Jonas,
you're up, all right there. We got number one, Tom Brady,
number two, Aaron Rodgers, number three, Drew Brees, number four,
Ben Roethlisberger, and number five. And the only reason he's
number five is because John has a ton of drops

(38:28):
of him. Joe Flacco. Oh, Joe Flacco, Joe Flacco, Joe Flacco.
I have Rogers one. Matt Ryan, by the way, not
making my top five cat already out of the bag.
It's got two first names. Can't have everything despite the
first the the big contract didn't make the top five
Rogers one, Brady to Russell Wilson, three, Drew Brees, four,

(38:50):
Jimmy Garoppolo five, Joe Flacco. Guys that had over a
hundred rating last year. No Alex Smith, no jeral Goff,
no Carson Wentz Sidered Wentz in Watson. But the amount
of the of what we've got from the Watson coming

(39:12):
off the injury, Wentz coming off the injury, I'd rather
have Garoppolo over them guys who had the Kentucky Derby,
believe it or not, this weekend. So give me your
three top three TV sporting events with animals. Okay, tell
you what Derby's gotta be. Gotta be number one, and
then the Preakness and then the Bell. Nothing like a

(39:34):
good fishing show and no snarking here on this show, Steve. Yeah,
And how about how about a nice outdoors show where
you go hunting. So I would go Kentucky Derby fishing
show hunting, Okay, I don't hunt fish. I will go
number one in Kentucky Derby because going to the race

(39:54):
tracks one of my favorite things to do. It's such
a wonderful place that no matter who you are, you
feel better about yourself just looking around some of the
losers that go to race tracks eighth race when you
become said loser. I live. But you know what's Steve?
For the prices to get into Santa Anita, my favorite
place on Earth. I mean five bucks to get and
give me a break. The number one, the Kentucky Derby

(40:15):
number two, the I did a Rod. I'm gonna go
the I did a Rod because because those guys are morons,
absolute morons to to do that race. It makes no
sense and then third, I'm gonna go Michael Phelps versus
the Shark because that was the dumbest thing I've ever
seen on TV. That was the Digital Animal. I'm not
sure that Steve, Steve, were we on the air when

(40:36):
I was going on we went live to updates. None
of you said the Westminster Dog Show. You don't like
the dog FS one them, that's what you mean because
it's on FS one program. Yeah, that high rating show.
I'm not sure Digital Animals can't still. Okay. Finally, Top
three days of the week. I'm a Saturday guy. Saturday

(41:00):
number one, give me Sunday two, and Today comes in third,
Tuesday dead last. All right, I will go third to first.
I'm gonna go third Sunday because i have two shows
on Sunday. I'm gonna go to Saturday because I have
a show on Saturday. And then number one is Monday,
because um, I don't have any shows on My name

(41:24):
is Game Time on the Duck Gottlieb Show. I like
Rank a Man, that's a good game. And Thursday is
just friends with everyone. Yeah, everybody kind of likes Thursday.
Of course, Dan Buyer Jonas socks in for Doug Gottlip
here Fox Sports Radio. A Hall of famer joins you
next here on Fox Sports Radio, and John Ramos is
here as well at John Ramos Show coming up in

(41:44):
ninety minutes. You can always tweet him at John Ramos
Show for any show. Idea is glad to have you
with us on this Friday. A double dose of Western
Conference playoff basketball Tonight, the scene shifts for the Rockets,
and as same thing for the Warriors and Pelicans Golden
State in New Orleans tipping off from the Big Easy

(42:05):
at eight o'clock Eastern time, then at ten thirty Eastern
time in Salt Lake City. It's the Jazz and Rockets
that series tied up at a game a piece, while
the other two series in the Eastern Conference are also
too old, like the Warriors and Pelicans were. Last night,
the Celtics top the Sixers. I actually thought Jonas that
the Celtics game against the Sixers last night could have
been like Utah's where Philadelphia ended up having the big lead,

(42:29):
Celtics come all the way back and then in the
end maybe Philadelphia pulls away. That's not what happened. That's
what the Jazz didto the Rockets. Last night it was
the Celtics ending up pulling away with great play from
Al Horford and others. I was watching Jersey Shore. I
got TVR, don't tell what happens. I know one guy
who was watching the NBA. He's a Hall of Fame
point guard and now joining us here on the Doug

(42:51):
Gottlieb Show on Fox Sports Radio. Asaiah Thomas joining us
here on FS are as A thanks so much for
coming on today. Hey, you're welcome. You guys are doing
we are doing well. And let's let me ask a question.
You said, this is the Dog Gottlik Show, Doug Gottlieb Show. Yes,
is he there? Doug is not in today. I'm Dan

(43:13):
Buyer and this and Jonas Knox is with me. I'm
teasing because this is like getting invited to somebody's house
for dinner and they don't show up themselves. Well, I'll
tell you what you know. This this is tell Doug.
I said, thanks for the invitation, baby, Well, if it
makes you feel anybody, we thought we were getting Joe Dumars,

(43:34):
so oh, let's uh, let's know that actually makes me
feel worse. Isaiah Thomas joining us here on the Doug
Gottlieb Show with Jonas Knox. I'm Dan Buyer. Okay, what
do you what do you tell a guy like Ben
Simmons after he gets benched for half of the second

(43:54):
half last night, has just one point in a loss
to the Boston Celtics. How would you what message would
you give to the Sixers point guard after last night's
tough performance? You know, unfortunately it happens sometimes in the
playoffs and in the regular season. Uh, sometimes you just
have a bad game. Sometimes you just have a bad outing,

(44:17):
and unfortunately, you know when it when it happens in
front of a national TV audience or or in a
playoff game. Um, you know, that's that's part of being
a professional athlete. You know, every now and then, we
we all have that that bad outing, and uh we
know that's not who he is, and he knows that's

(44:38):
not who he is. He can play better and he
will play better. So you just have to shake it
off and keep it moving. Is that these are the
biggest games that he's played in. He didn't play in
the n c A tournament, he missed all of his
rookie years. So he gets into the postseason and he
gets Miami in the first round and that was a
combative series. But you remember the first time you played
in a playoff game in BA Austin, in that arena.

(45:02):
What was it? What was the difference between that place,
that city, those fans, and other places you visited in
the postseason, especially early on in your career. Well, the
historical weight of tradition, that that weighs on you, um
as a as a visiting team. When you walk into

(45:22):
that arena. Uh, you know, you you feel that that energy,
you feel you know, you feel that momentum, that that
that's happening in that building. Uh. You know Bill Russell
was sitting there, Dann Yang, You're sitting there, the banners
are there, and you know subconsciously, subliminally, Uh, you know,

(45:43):
the weight of tradition. Uh, it weighs on you and
it affects you. I mean all of us who grew
up watching basketball and these kids coming in who are
playing in the in the NBA. Now, Uh, you understand
who the Celtics are, what they mean to the NBA,
what they need to basketball, and that that has an
effect on you. But when you and baseball and you

(46:06):
playing against the Red Sox and the Yankees, you you
understand exactly what those franchises are, what they mean to
the history of the game into the sport. Asie Thomas
joining us here on Fox Sports Radio on the Doug
Gottlieb Show. I'm Dan Buyer. That's Jonas Knocks. What what's
that zake on top it? You've got quite I'll tell

(46:32):
you what. You know, if we played some three on
three here, you've got a couple of guys who can
really fill it up. Ze. So I'm just telling you.
I know you you and Doug be point guards. Jonas
and I. It's pure scoring. That's that's all that we
care about, so we'd be working that way. Do the
Toronto I love playing with the pure s. I love
playing with the guys that can shoot because it evade

(46:54):
my assist total up. And you know, back when I played,
you know, as a point guard, you you got more credit.
You got more credit for assisting than you did scoring.
Nowadays you get more credit for scoring than you do assisting.
So you guys would have made me look really really good.
Mike Kelly Computers and John long Well, well, are the

(47:17):
Toronto Raptors along for the playoffs? Um, that's what I'm
wondering does this team have it to go to the
next level, not maybe not this year, but even in
the in the long term, because when you when you
look at Toronto in the way they're built, um, you know,
they're they're running into the megawatt Superstar in terms of

(47:40):
Lebron James. And if Lebron James wasn't you know, in
the NBA or in the East right now, you would
say Toronto is built perfectly and they would have long
term sustained success. Um, you know, but they're their window,
you know, in my opinion, it could be closing. And
there they remind me of where the Clippers were a

(48:03):
couple of years ago before Golden State became Golden State,
before Steph Curry became Steph Curry. Remember it was it
was Chris Paul and Lob City and the Clippers were
scheduled to come out, and then Golden State grew up.
As the Clippers were waiting their turn, waiting for San
Antonio to to go away, you know, there was another

(48:24):
monster behind them of young talent. Well the young talent
and the young monster behind the Toronto Rappers. Right now,
you look and you say it's right there in Philadelphia
within bed and Simmons, and then you you look at Boston,
you know, with with the Brown Tatum and you know Kyrie,
Irvan and everyone else. So you look at Toronto and

(48:47):
you say this, this was probably the best year that
they This was probably the best chance that they had
up coming out of the East, and it looks like
they they won't be able to do it. Next year
is going to be a total a different year for
them because all the young talent is going to be
that much better and probably with the past Toronto, Um,
we say this, and what the hell do we know?

(49:08):
Because you played in the league. You played basketball all
your life, so you've forgotten more about the sport than
we know. But we talked about how Lebron's in the
Raptors head that that Lebron owns the Raptors. Is that?
Does that exist? Is that a real thing? If so,
did you ever experience going against a team that either
you knew that you owned every time you stopped on
the floor mentally or vice versa where you felt like

(49:31):
they owned you, at least early on in your career. Unfortunately,
I felt like I got owned a couple of times,
but then I owned some people too, So it is
a real thing. Going into it. You feel like you
have an advantage. I tell you what, when we were
playing against the Boston Celtics in Larry Birds, right, we

(49:51):
we felt like we just had no And remember, you know,
we we nicknamed his jump shot silent death, and we
would definitely afraid of every time he touched the basketball.
And we just felt like, you know, for for a
number of years, there was no way we can get
past Bird and MacHale. I mean it was Bird and McHale,

(50:12):
Bird and MacHale and and we felt like they wanted
to beat us. But eventually we got better and and
for us, we felt that way about playing against Chicago.
Any time we played against Chicago, we felt like we
just had the psychological mental advantage over them. So it

(50:37):
it goes in cycles. And uh, you know, unfortunately for
Toronto right now, Uh, their their window of opportunity, in
my opinion, is closed. Isaiah Thomas, Hall of Fame, point
guard of the Detroit Pistons, joining us here on Fox
Sports Radio. There was a report from The New York
Post today saying that David Fizdale is hiring with the

(50:59):
next is the first step to them going after Lebron.
Did you ever think about leaving the Pistons or could
you see yourself playing outside of Detroit? Was there ever
an instance where that conversation was was happening. No, it
it And I never really had the opportunity, um, nor

(51:20):
did I have the thought. And the reason why I
didn't have that thought is because I had the commitment
in the buy in from management, from the ownership and
the general manager that they would do everything possible to
continue building all teams to compete with the Celtics and
try to dethrone the Celtics and win the championship against

(51:41):
the Legers with Lebron James h If you remember the
first time he left Cleveland, you know he left Cleveland
because you know, there wasn't the commitment there to continue
to put the players around him, nor did he believe
in management at that time. Uh So, he didn't believe
that management was capable enough to really put the players

(52:04):
in place so he can go and compete for a championship.
Thus he ends up you know, flirting and looking at
other other cities, and he ended up settling on Miami.
Uh Into Lebron James is credit. He's the one player. Uh,
probably in all basketball history who has always bet on himself.

(52:25):
Most of us have always taken a long term, guaranteed contract.
Lebron James. Uh. You know, if you look at his
his his business contractual movement. Uh, he's always put himself
in a position where he could take advantage of what
Kurt Flood fought for and there was free agency. So

(52:46):
he puts himself in a position by signing short term contracts,
betting on himself and thus maximizing his potential as a
basketball player and maximizing his potential monetarily. Do the Knicks
have a legit shot at him? Bad? I don't know.

(53:08):
You have to talk to Lebron James about that, he says.
Ayah Thomas, Hall of Fame point guard. Here on Fox
Sports Radio on the Doug Gottlieb Show. Tell us about
Sherlan Champagne and you teaming up with the the beverage.
I mean there's been Wines first and now they're Champagne.
Tell us a little about this teammate connection that you've
had over the last couple of years. I don't think

(53:30):
from the west of Chicago, so on the west side
of Chicago, in my neighborhood. In my family, we call
it Shirley and just like you just pronounced it, but
the front, the front pronounces that, Hey, I'm a Wisconsin guy,
so like that, so you can see the Midwest. Yes, Isiah,
just so you know, he also called Rudy Gobert Rudy

(53:51):
Gobert earlier in the show. That didn't happen. That didn't happen, right,
you know, it's Illinois, Indiano, Wescons, Michigan. I mean, that's
that's all verbic. But if Sir Alan Champaigne, I am
actually one of the largest importer of African American importers
of champaign in the world. And uh, we have two

(54:14):
hundred acres over in the Old Region, which is the
hottest region of champaign. The cri Alan family has been
making champagne in and um we have a unique partnership
where um, you know, we're introducing the product into the
United States. Uh. You know, it's been hot on the shelf.

(54:36):
Can't can't keep enough of it in stock. And um,
I encourage everyone to go to Cylon dot com c
h e U R l i n dot com and
that we were sold over the internet. You can order
it on wine dot com or ask for your local
merchants tou to go and pick it up. But I'm

(54:58):
in the champaign business and I'm out in a great time.
And you called Larry birds shot the silent death right.
Actually my mother in law name silent. Yeah, because that's
what a lot of people call sugar. So you your
your champagne is low on sugar. And so for people
that don't want to have their teeth rotting away and
want a healthier version, your champagne would be the right one.

(55:20):
Thank you for for for for pointing that out. Do
we have actually an our Celebrate which is one of
our best selling champagne and zero dosage or zero sugar added.
Uh and uh we have six grams and less and
all of our champagne's and also um, it's a sixty

(55:41):
seven calories in all champagne's. So if you're looking for
a healthy drink and you're looking for low sugar or
no sugar, pick up a bottle champagne. Sure, sure, lin,
it's easy now, it just rolls off the tongue. Isaiah
Thomas were we appreciate if you if you with some

(56:03):
of your fans, Uh, Shelon. Shelon, we appreciated, Zeke, we
appreciate the time, and Joe the rest of the playoffs,
and good luck with the Sherlon great stuff, great stuff
from Isaiah Thomas, good stuff, Dan Buyer, Jonas Knocks, and
for Doug Gottlieb here on Fox Sports Radio. Nice Dan, Sherlon, Sherl.

(56:25):
I'm into it, um, all right, get Dan on Twitter,
at Dan Buyer on Fox and give me at the
Jonas Knocks. Coming up next year on Fox Sports Radio,
there is a so a professional sports league does something
and they're doing it incorrectly. We're gonna tell you why
that is and how they could change it and improve
their entire sport. That's next year on FSR. Do you

(56:48):
think Greg Camlas sing this band this weekend? I don't
know who Dr dre Right? Who is it? Johnny? That
would be one of the I think they're playing this weekend?
The Doors. I hate you know what, I shouldn't even
in reference, by the way, that's Jonas. No, that's genre
almost I'm Dan Buyer. I'm not I'm not even gonna

(57:10):
reference music anymore because I am not a music aficionado.
So if I'm missing famous songs by bands as you
Just Let It Go, the Doors, Led Zeppelin, and Alison Change, Right, John,
that is correct. I just want to say that a
lot of times in music that I picked a play
back is either a I like the riff that starts it,
like I like that one right there, or I just

(57:32):
think the music has something to do with what we're
talking about. That one, in particular, was more of the riff.
I do like though, how on the eve of Sinco
to Mayo we just came back with the Doors as
bumper music right after we did an interview with the
guy who was plugging Champagne. I do I do find

(57:53):
out that's a little ironic. When it comes to Sinco
to may you think like a like a like a
Mexican beer into like Lost Lonely Boys, or yeah, yeah,
just Los whatever, but Los buyer, Los p k R. Something.
Just do you have plans for single tomorow tomorrow? John?

(58:19):
What's gonna happen on Saturday cannot be said right now
on National Why somebody listening to John? A little surprise
party going on? I can't say right now, but it's
either baseball, softball game, interesting, interesting. I'm looking forward to it.
Just as much as the NBA playoffs. You know who
may not be looking forward to the NBA playoffs. One

(58:39):
Ben Simmons, the seventies Sixers point guard last night, played
just what I think twelve minutes in the second half,
missed an entire quarter. T J McConnell was playing so
well for the Philadelphia seventy Sixers, Brett Brown didn't put
Ben Simmons into the game. I believe it's about the
five minute mark of the fourth quarter when the Celtics

(59:00):
then ended up running away with it. And this is
something that I've I've always felt Jonas. I've never been
one to believe that postseason or season awards should be
given after the postseason. There's a reason it's an eight
two game schedule. Everybody plays eighty two games while the
schedules aren't even it's the best way to figure it out.

(59:21):
There's teams that don't make the playoffs, maybe somebody has
just an unreal season. That's how you figure out an
m v P or a Rookie of the Year. You
can't give awards out with the postseason included. Otherwise a
lot of the times you just have whatever the best
player on the finals team you know might have been
or it just it doesn't seem right. But when you've
we're talking about the Rookie of the Year award for

(59:42):
the first time ever, I think people actually cared about
it this year and we're debating it. Yead Donovan Mitchell
and he had Ben Simmons, and last night was the
perfect example I think of why Donovan Mitchell should be
the NBA Rookie of the Year when you see what
he's meant to the Utah team, when you see even
what he's what he's done when he's had a bad night,

(01:00:03):
maybe not a great night against the Houston Rockets scoring wise,
still was able to do other things. When you look
at what the Sixers were able to do, and this
is why I think Philadelphia is so strong because of
the pieces around him. T J. McConnell came in and
the Sixers didn't miss a beat and and so when
you're looking at it how things play out, it's those
are the sort of things that that popped into my

(01:00:24):
mind when I look and I say, oh, okay, this
is why Donovan Mitchell really is valuable to the Utah Jazz.
And when you compare it to what Ben Simmons didn't
do last night. To me, it's it's even more light
shining on Mitchell being the rookie of the Year. I mean,
Ben Simms is a really good player, a really good player,
but right now I think he's closer to Blake Griffin

(01:00:44):
than he is Lebron James to where he's a guy
who you're not. And Blake Griffin early on didn't have
a shot, but he had real athleticism and it was
a lot of raw talent. Then he developed a shot
later on. And Ben Simmons he sees the he's a
better ball hander, he sees the floor better, but he
can't shoot the ball. I mean, he's a full blown
liability late in games because of free throws, and unless

(01:01:06):
he's driving to the basket, there's he's really not effective
offensively outside of being able to distribute the ball. But
the one thing that I do that I think also
led to a lot of this Ben Simmons Rookie the Year.
He's a great player. Um, he had a very good year,
but I would also lean towards Donovan Mitchell as well too,

(01:01:28):
And I think a lot of the reason why Ben
Simmons got the hype that he got is because of
how historically bad Philadelphia has been, so anything would be
seen as an improvement over what they had. So because
of that, the Sixers were so elevated, and the commentary
and the talk about the Sixers was so elevated because

(01:01:49):
they had been such crap for so long, they were
so bad that anything was going to be an improvement.
Donovan Mitchell, look, Utah last are best player. Gordon Hayward
left for some way somebody else, and Donovan Mitchell stepped in,
and he's better than Gordon Hayward, and he's playing better
in the biggest games where it matters the most, and

(01:02:11):
he doesn't have as many holes in his game as
Ben Simmons does. Ben Simmons is a higher ceiling, but
right now Donovan Mitchell doesn't have the holes in his
game that Ben Simmons does. I also think you saw
how Utah then utilized Donovan Mitchell late during that game
against the Rockets, where now he's going to be more
distributor he's gonna be maybe at the end, now you

(01:02:32):
need to make these these clutch baskets. There's a lot
of different things that that he can do that Ben
Simmons also does what Utah uses him in a certain role.
And I think we look at the triple double differently
than we did. I don't know three years ago, because
it was just a year ago, a little more than
a year ago, we were raving about the season that

(01:02:53):
Russell Westbrook had averaging a trible double. This is unreal.
Now we look at the triple double and I would say,
like a Lebron trible double is different than a Russell
Westbrook triple double or a Ben Simmons triple double. And
you just used the comparison of Blake Griffin and that's
where he would be more of Ben Simmons would be
more of that guy in filling those stats. I think

(01:03:13):
Russell Westbrook has changed how we actually now value the
triple double. It's badness for Oscar Robertson because everybody who
didn't see him play would still say, hey, this is
this is the guy who averaged the triple double during
a season. Well, now that we've seen Russell Westbrook do it,
I don't think we are valuing that as much anymore.
And we're really we're instead of just looking at sheer numbers,

(01:03:36):
we're really trying to look on how a guy is used,
and I think that that is that has changed in
the n b A. And now when we understand what
a triple double maybe really really is, and seeing what
Donovan Mitchell has done, it's a it's a different story
and it leans towards the jazz player. And I also
think it's a different game as well too. Guards can
rebound more more often now than before because teams are

(01:03:58):
shooting from longer range. That means longer rebounds. So it's
not it's no longer get down there and bruise and
throw elbows and try and grab boards. Now it's all right,
just get to where the loose ball is. Most teams
are getting back on defense anyways, and and guards are
I mean, heck, we just had Isaiah Thomason. You think
Isaiah Thomas is gonna be pulling down ten rebounds when
you've got Bill Lambier Horn, John Sally, I mean those guys, yeah,

(01:04:21):
there's those guys are are a bound to get rebounds. Now,
if you're the Golden State Warriors and you've got Kevin
Durant and Draymond Green playing the four and five, they
have the opportunity to get those boards. Or maybe Steph
Curry does, or if it's just Steven Adams for the
Oklahoma City Thunder and they're going small, he's got the
ability to get those rebounds. It's yeah, it is different.
It's different how the the lineups are. That's why they

(01:04:42):
were talking about it. During one of the halftimes for
the T n T crew was saying, how many points
a game would Larry Burn average in today's NBA? Think
about it, I mean, can shoot, can rebound. He's gonna
have a three whenever he wants it. And they were
talking what points a game? It's like in the NFL.
What would Dan Marino do in this league? Like good God,

(01:05:05):
where it's all passing and I mean marginal quarterbacks who
are nowhere close historically to Dan Marino thrown for five
hundred a game at times. Dan Marino would, I mean,
you would shatter every single record there is, like every
record there is. Today's show is brought to you by Truecar.
Car Shoppy can't be confusing with terms like dealer price,
list price, and invoiced. Truecar shows you what other people
paid for the car you want, so you can recognize

(01:05:27):
a good price when you're ready to buy a new
or used card. As a truecar to enjoy a more
confident car buying experience. He's Dan Buyer. I'm Jonas Knox
in for Doug Gottlieb here on Fox Sports Radio. Get
Dan on Twitter at Dan Buyer on Fox. You can
give me at d Jonas Knox Coming up next though,
we are going to make some radio history. This has
never been done in the history of sports talk radio.
If you want to be a part of it, don't

(01:05:48):
go anywhere. Willow that for you next. But for all
the latest from around the world of sports, including some
huge news out of New York Steve ja Sager. Yeah,
the Mets are gonna be hosting Colorado tonight, but the
Mets will He designated picture Matt Harvey for assignment tomorrow.
He refused to go to the Miners last three years.
Harvey c r A is five point nine three. Atlanta

(01:06:09):
is going to be hosting the Giants this evening. Jose
Bautista joins the Braves tonight. He'll be playing third base
for them. Outfielder Preston Tucker goes to Triple A. Bautista
sign a minor league deal last month. He had to
fifty at Triple A and ten games that's also his
career batting average in the majors. The Dodgers are playing
San Diego in Monterrey, Mexico, all weekend. There is a
chance of reign there Tonight. Walker Bueller's due to be

(01:06:31):
the l A starter this evening, back up from the Miners.
Tomorrow's game will be on FS one from Mexico, seven
pm Eastern time. The lay game tonight includes Angels at
Seattle Albert Pool, so the Halo's just one hit away
from three thousand in his major league career. Two NBA
playoff games tonight to in the NHL, the Seahawks release
defensive end Cliff Abriel, saying he failed a physical NASCAR

(01:06:53):
poll qualifying was on FS one and Kyle larsoners are
in the poll for Sunday at Dover. Tiger Woods is
two over par after your second round seventy three in Charlotte,
He's right at the cut line. Phil Mickelson is one
over through thirteen holes. Rory McElroy is one under through
through thirteen holes. Jason Day is five under par, only
one off the lead. Aaron Wise of the U S

(01:07:14):
still a co leader in Charlotte. Back to you, Let's
see if John Ramos can make the cuts here on
the Doug Gottlieb Show, I'm Dan buyer. That's Jonas knocks.
Thank you very much, Steve, with a game that we
like to call Triple D. No, it's not Diners, Drive
Ins and Dives. It's Derby, Deadliest Catch or Dion. We

(01:07:35):
are going to give a name to John Ramos, and
John has to decipher if it is a horse competing
in the Kentucky Derby, if it is a boat on
the Deadliest Catch, or if it's a Selene Dion album. Now,
if it is a let's just say it's a Kentucky
Derby horse, you will hear something like this. If it

(01:07:59):
is a Deadliest boat, you will hear this of a bull.
And if you if it's a Selene Dion album, you
will hear this. Alright, John, are you ready surprised for
the Devil for the Deadliest Catch sound effect? I'm surprised

(01:08:21):
you didn't like, like record some guy doing drugs? Hey
watch that show? Okay, at least once a season. All right, John,
are you ready? It's good to be here, Dan, Jonas,
Steve be with you John, especially in this segment. Again,

(01:08:43):
you're gonna hear the sound effect to what it is? Okay,
Jonas and I will alternate and giving you names again.
Is it a Derby horse, a Deadliest Catch boat or
a Selene Dion album? Sounds easy enough, Dan, alright, first
out of the gate, taking chances, is that a Derby horse,
a Deadliest Catch Boats or a Selene Dion album? Taking chances,

(01:09:06):
I would say that is a a horse in the
Kentucky Derby. Yes, oh that was all right? You ready, Johnny?
All right? Here we go, John Derby Deadliest Catch or

(01:09:28):
Selene Dion flame away. That sounds like a Kentucky Derby
A horse? Why? John? Is one in one right now?
Wizard Wizard? Is it a Derby horse, a Deadliest Catch

(01:09:53):
boat or a Selene Dion album. I'm gonna say it
is a Deadliest Catch boat? All right, Captain Keith, Yeah,
he's on board the Wizard. All right, Johnny? You ready? Yes? Jonas?
Right here we go, incognito, Derby Deadliest Catch or Celine

(01:10:19):
Dion album. What's your thought process on this? They all
sound the same. That would be my thought process, which
makes it really difficult. Is it incognito? Is that what
it's called? Yes, and it's a Celine Dion song or
an album? What is the category is album? I'm gonna
say that's a Selean day On album. You got a rap?

(01:10:41):
F Why she sound like a frog? Hey? Is that
a reference about the French? Oh? No, she French. I
didn't know. I thought she's from Vegas. She's only doing
chose in Vegas. Oh, she's got some she's got definitely French.
How about this one, Magna Moon, I'm gonna say that's

(01:11:04):
a winter catch. I'm sorry, I'm not a winner catch.
What's called deadliest catch boat? Magna Moon? Starting from the
sixteenth post a fifteen to two favorites. By the way,
that's a New Discovery Show winter catch. They actually go
out on crab boats and try and catch snow globes,

(01:11:26):
so it's a winter catch. John Ramos, all right, Johnny ready,
always ready, summer Bay. You're trying to thing like down
scratch that comre summer. I will say it's a deadliest

(01:11:47):
catch boat. You're good at this, John wild Bill captaining
the summer big? Is that where he's at now? Yes?
Got great hair? Yes, wild Bill? What out the Cornelia Marie?
Oh that sounds like an easy one, but it could
be a trick. I say it is a horse in

(01:12:07):
the derby. That's how they do the drugs. Well, it's
the one of the kids us. He's not on the
show anymore, Cornelia, Marie, catch Johnny ready for this? Okay,
here we go. We're back in tune. I think you're
three and four. By the way, I think that's your
score right now. Justify. I think that's a Celindon album.

(01:12:30):
Justify Justify in honor of Star Wars Day, can I
just say, in a darks fader voice, I find your
lack of game disturbing. Out of eight so far, john
is nailed three. Dan, I had to admit. It's tough.
It is a tough game. It is. It's there's no

(01:12:51):
rise to the top, that's for sure. Enticed Derby Horse,
Deadliest Boats or Selene Dion album. You know what, I'm
gonna go back to the well again. I'm gonna say
Selene Dion enticed with an E. This is a new

(01:13:13):
song off my album Entice. Why would she called out
of him? I don't know. Wow, you do need the
forest with you, Johnny Ready, Okay, I'm now in depth here.

(01:13:34):
You go help me. Selene. You're my only hope, my boy, Jack.
That sounds like a Derby horse. Yeah, John is back
on track. A couple more for you though, All the way,
All the way, John, just go all the way, all

(01:13:57):
the way. I would say that is a name of
one of the boats. Oh, come on, don't so. It
was like Frank Sinatra, I she redid it? Oh man?
All this from the guy who made the kessel run
in less than twelve By the way, By the way,

(01:14:19):
Steve knows a lot more about Selene Dion than I realized.
I know. Frank Sinatra. It's a song for crying out loud.
All right, Johnny, Okay, Now earlier you heard Cornelia Marie. Yes,
what about Lisa Marie. It's a daughter. It is a
daughter of Elvis. I would say that is a a boat.

(01:14:45):
Boat very good with a question, Martin. It's a boat
sounding like a valley guy. Could be a tractor trailer.
All right, Johnny, got two more, two more, Let's see
if you can break five for two. Here we go, miracle, Okay,
here we go, Dan Miracle, miracle, miracle. I would say

(01:15:10):
that is a song from Celine Dion. The category is
albums of Celine Dion. Okay, I'm gonna go and say
it's a boat. It's a miracle that this game is
still going. John six, All right, John, you're ready a right? John?

(01:15:34):
Last one? You ready? John? Last? Here we go. You're ready? Yes,
flame away. Oh, I would say that is a horse
in the derby. Oh I got it right. Ah, yeah,
we already gave it to you earlier, just so he

(01:15:56):
could say he owns this game. I am the old
could rob John. So what did you finish? What did
he finish doing? Uh? Did he get he changed it?
So he was seven of fourteen? Okay? All right? Uh?
Dan Buyer Jonas knocks in for Doug Gottlieb here on yeah,

(01:16:19):
and CELINDI honest here, plus we have a horse on staff.
There's a horse in studio here live um. And somebody
brought their boat. I have no idea who brought their boat.
I think it's Steve de Seger. Ah there he is,
all right, so coming up next here, by the way,

(01:16:42):
Frank Pollock would be so proud of this second. This
is the most we've talked about boats since Frank poll Yes,
all right up next year on Fox Sports Radio, some
controversial remarks were made Dan and I will tell you
why we do not agree. That's next NFS. I have
a feeling we know the musical guest is going to
be on the John Ramo Show. I don't know, just

(01:17:03):
just a sense. He's Jonas Knocks. I'm Dan buy Er. Yes,
John Romos here as well as we are in for
Doug today. But Doug wasn't off today. Doug was in
for Colin Cowherd on Fox Sports Radio and Fox Sports One,
and today we bring you and Now with Doug drawing

(01:17:25):
parallels to the NBA and NFL a little like we
did Off the Top Jonas. But Doug used a different
comparison to talk about the Raptors and Calves series to
people who say, well, we haven't seen this before. I
haven't seen this before. That's that's just not true. This
is what Michael Jordan would do. If you're a Knicks fan,
you're not in your head. If you're a Paciers fan,

(01:17:45):
you're not in your head. If you're a uh, if
you're a Calves fan and you could remember pre Lebron
this this is what he would do. You felt like
you had no chance, You felt like he was inevitable,
that he he owned your team. Look for a long time,
we felt like the Patriots own the Colts. You can
still say the Patriots own the Colts, right that that

(01:18:08):
that Bill Belichick was in the head of paid Manny
oh no, just like and I don't know if the
Ravens owned the Patriots or the Giants owned the Patriots,
but you always felt like their matchup or they mentally
had had some sort of an edge on the Pats.
Case employed the two super Bowls. And that's what you
have with Lebron, the Calves and the Toronto Raptors. I

(01:18:32):
think Dougs comparison on Jordan's and the Bulls over the
Knicks is very fair. I don't think that you can
do it with Giants Patriots. I think that's a matchup thing.
And I also think considering that the Colts actually broke
through and won a Super Bowl, I don't think that
the Raptors can. Like I don't think that obviously not
going was Super Bowl, but would an NBA championship. I
don't see that in this team. I just I I

(01:18:55):
don't put them on the level of a team that
if they didn't face the Calves, they would be an
NBA title team. I just I know that the Calves
have their number Jonas, but I don't think that they
would be good enough to maybe beat more than half
of the teams left in the playoffs right now. Well,
I I think that there's and I wonder I know
fans feel it, but I wonder if players really And
that's why we asked Isaiah Thomas, is it real? Like

(01:19:17):
do you really feel like, Wow, this team's got your
number to where Toronto everyone you know, that's the conversation
that Toronto knows going into that everybody's got their number.
If you've ever been a fan of a bad team
or a team that just snake bit, if you're a
fan of Atlanta Sports or Minnesota Sports or Che's I
grew up a Cubs fan, you just know going into situations,

(01:19:38):
oh they're gonna lose, man, that's just how how it's
gonna be. I wonder if the if the vibe on
television in that arena we hear all about Toronto is
a great stadium, great place to go watch a game,
loyal fan base. The players have to feel that, right
Like they've got to feel what the fans are feeling.
And that's god. They've they've sort of the negative energy

(01:19:58):
has got to feed off each other. I would just
imagine that it has to be the case because I've
been at Wrigley Field at nighttime in big games and
there's just a negative How are we gonna lose this game?
How is this game gonna fall apart? For the Cubs?
And I think two worlds are colliding. You've got the
negativity and the mental exhaustion that they're dealing with, and

(01:20:21):
then Lebron James, who's meeting him at the right time,
and he just has their number. Look at all the
things that the Raptors have tried to overcome in those
years of not winning a first round playoff series. This
year it was the never won a game one in
the first round of a player like the how many
teams have that? I mean, you mentioned the Cubs example,

(01:20:45):
and and I look at it as like, Okay, the
Cubs are gonna find a way to mess it up,
like if it gets to a Game six or a
game seven, Like the Raptors don't even get that far.
And that's why I just don't think like they're as
good that that Cubs team that lost, you know, three
to the Marlins probably should have gone on and won
the World Series. But I look at this Raptors team

(01:21:07):
and I wanted them to be good. I wanted them
to be a team that while look at this, this squad,
this is a legit team when people counted them out,
and I just don't think that they are. And I
think that when we're putting them up. That's why, like
your Bengals comparison earlier, I think it is very fair.
I think that looking at it like as a Raiders
or even at a difficult time with the Chargers, because

(01:21:28):
I think the Chargers matched up well with the Patriots.
I just don't think that the Raptors are good enough.
Those Cubs teams, those nixed teams, I do think that
they were good enough to win titles. I don't think
that the Raptors are. Yeah, probably shouldn't end my take off.
I don't know. I mean, gosh, John, for the love

(01:21:49):
of God, I mean, he's going through Celine Dion's greatest
hits and then he just chops his off right there.
Did you see they look on Drake's face during the
game last night? Yeah, Drake, that that all world athlete
who just sat there and was like, oh wow, um,
this is not going how any of us planned. But again,
you got the Maple leaves, So are you already about
Drake at least doesn't have to get tickets anymore to

(01:22:09):
anymore games. And that's so mean Dan. More meanness next,
and John Ramos is here as well. John Ramo Show
comes up at the bottom of the hour. Matt Harvey
is gonna be looking for a new team. Well tonight
in the NBA Playoffs, a double dose of Western Conference
action in New Orleans Pelicans, home to the Warriors, and
then it's the Rockets and Jazz from Salt Lake. That's

(01:22:32):
a ten thirty Eastern time start tonight series in Salt
Lake at one apiece, but the Warriors could take a
commanding three oh lead with a win tonight. Well that
Rockets Jazz series. I still think it's up of the earth.
Houston obviously the top team. You'd have to think that
things around there on their side, But if they have
another performance like game too, then that those thoughts start

(01:22:55):
creeping in your head. Hey, we're the Rockets, were Chris
Paul this and that you want if maybe they'll have
some of the Toronto effect that we just got done talking.
What's your ideal matchup? Player? Against player in the Western
Conference Finals. What matchup do you want to see the most, Like, obviously,
like the two teams would need to get there for

(01:23:15):
these two players to match up. Which would they be. Yeah,
I mean it's Rockets Warriors, and to see James Harden
and Clay Thompson go toe to toe I think would
be interesting. I would like to see Jazz Warriors because
I want to see Draymond Green versus Joe Ingles. That's
what I want to say, because Joe Engles is a
pain in the ass and I just think he could

(01:23:37):
be the one guy that would get Draymond Green office.
He would rattle his cage. Joe Ingles put his arms
around Donovan Mitchell and James Harden at the same time,
he got Paul George, who never really gets into it
with opposing players, to lose his school. Joe Ingles has
really mastered the art of I'm just going to irritate people,
and I want to see him versus Draymond Green. That's
the matchup I want. I think won't happened, but that's

(01:23:59):
what I remember. When Murray and Chris Paul were a
musty matchup, when it was Clippers Warriors before the Warriors
arrived and and when Steph Curry obliterated them on the
baseline at Staples Center. That isn't even talked about much
of You talk about showdowns now because it's more teams.
Plus you've got Durant now at Golden State hard and
obviously the soon to be m v P at Houston.

(01:24:21):
They've almost taken backseat rolls when their rivalry was once
one of the top ones in the NBA. And how
many cheesy tools on social media. If Chris Paul has
a bad game, do you think you're going to go
to the whole? I guess they should have signed Cliff
Paul Nerds. I guarantee there'll be more CP three p O,

(01:24:42):
you know something like that. You know, jeez, would you
rather have R two D two PO or whatever? I
think that's what you would get. John, Do you think
we're going to get that on Twitter tonight? I hope not,
but yes, I do believe we'll here. Hey, May the
fourth be with you? John, ain't. I didn't know that
was today, he didn't. I teld John the other day,

(01:25:05):
I said, I saw somebody with the Star Troopers sticker
on their vehicle, and I get that you love Star
Wars and I have nothing. I have nothing wrong with
like like license plate frames or anything like that. But
there's something about the sticker that just really bothered me.
Did you see event in Vengers Infinity War? Oh with Thanos?

(01:25:26):
Can you believe? Can you guys believe that Wolverine is
actually a woman that's crazy? And oh my god, know
when you've see that's a spoiler? Sorry about that, everybody.
And by the way, who are the star Troopers? That's
what I want to know. Is it Trooper? What did
I say? What star Troopers? I don't even know what stormtroopers?
Clone troopers. The ones that are in white, well they're

(01:25:48):
both in white, both of them. Okay. The ones that
are the most popular, Okay, the ones that you saw
an Empire strikes back, that would be storm Troopers, Stormtroopers.
There it is, I saw a Stormtroopers. I'm sorry, star Troopers.
Those are in Star Trek. Sounds like a new game
Star Troopers, Stormtrooper or super Trooper. Before we before we
move on to uh to Rick cam, I do you

(01:26:09):
want to say to John in case may the Fourth
be with you John, Thank you, Jonas, and right back
to you as well, I am going to see Infinity
Wars in Infinity Ah yeah, never. I will never see
it at all, not even if it comes to like DVD.

(01:26:30):
When it comes to blue ray, you won't pop it
on you and Lisa, I fell for Ramarack or round
table four, round table whatever the hell, would rather watch
Infinity Storage Wars. They find antiques in a in a
by the way, in a storage uh garage that is

(01:26:55):
totally rigged, like they're like they put stuff in there,
and thinking like, oh, I'll pay four hundred. You know
why I see that fan, Well, in the base of
the fan there was four thousand. The thing is so rigged.
But I'd rather watch Infinity Storage Wars than Infinity I
actually I got suckered in. I went with my girlfriend
and I saw Thor Rolling Rock Rock and I fell

(01:27:16):
asleep an hour into the movie. And my buddies like,
how could you fall asleep during that movie? I'm like, well,
it's really easy because I'm an adult, so real. They
didn't do it for me. But that I'll pass on
the next one I do. I get enjoy the Thor movies.
They're very I thought they were very good. What do
you think? J? J? Abrams is going to be doing
that with the Star Wars franchise. He's doing episode nine,

(01:27:37):
He's directing the next episode You Can Stay Healthy. Oh eight,
I think Van J J. Watt. Sorry that unbroken up.
Perfect transition to football. Matt Ryan got a huge deal
in the NFL yesterday, thirty billion dollars a year to
be the Atlanta Falcons quarterback. In fact, that story broke
yesterday while we were on the air. You're on Fox Sports.
We broke it, so now a little more them. Twenty

(01:28:00):
four hours after the news broke, there's a lot of
reaction coming out from it. Earlier on the show, we
spoke with the Rick Kamlock, who you see him on
NBA TV all the time, but Rick also hosts a
radio show in Atlanta and ninety two point nine the
game and gave us the response that Falcons fans had
in hearing about the fifty million dollar extension that was

(01:28:22):
given the Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan. The reaction in Atlanta
wasn't all peaches and cream. Yeah no, there you know,
we took a lot of calls today and we spent
the majority of our four hour show on the Ryan extension.
Um I'll get to my opinion in a second. Uh,
there's a lot of people in Atlanta that are on
board with the contract and on board with Matt Ryan.

(01:28:43):
And there are a lot of people in Atlanta, like
a big percentage guys, not ten percent. Maybe it's thirty
or fort that just don't like Matt Ryan and never will.
And Matt Ryan, um, you know, has been He's the
best player in Falcon's history. He's by far the quarterback
and thought, I think he's the best player in Falcon's history.

(01:29:03):
But for some reason, people hold stuff against him that
I don't think they should be holding against him. Guys,
he had seven passes last year hit a receiver in
the hands and turn into an interception to the other team.
But some people just focus on the turnover number. No,
you have to be deeper into it to realize that
he got let down by his receivers all year. The

(01:29:25):
Falcons let the NFL and drop passes. That was Rick Kamla,
who's a supporter of Matt Ryan. But when he says
that they were thirty of the fans that don't that
aren't behind the Matt Ryan signing do the thirty I don't.
I don't think Matt Ryan's the top five quarterback. We
did rank them earlier, but do they realize what they

(01:29:47):
have in Matt Ryan in a quarterback? Here's this is
the one thing I never complain about. I never complain
about the price of gas. You don't know why, because
no complaining is going to do anything like something sooner
or later. You just have to acknowledge that. That's what
you gotta if you want to get to work. If
you don't like it, then go ride a bike, like
I mean, if you're in, if you're a Falcons fan,
he was next up to get a deal. That's the

(01:30:09):
price of doing business. What's the alternative? You want to
see if Chris Chandler is doing anything you want to
You want to go back in time and see if
Billy Joe Tolliver is available to resurrect the early nineties,
Like Matt Ryan is a good enough quarterback to win
a Super Bowl? If you've got If you're good enough
as a quarterback to have a twenty five point leading

(01:30:31):
the Super Bowl, you're probably good enough to win a
super Bowl. Just a lot of crazy things happen, you know,
Like it's amazing. If Julie if Julian Edeman doesn't make
that catch. This is a whole different conversation. But these man,
you can't. That's what the price tag is. Our our
packer fans gonna say, oh, I don't know about Aaron Rodgers.

(01:30:51):
I mean we're gonna give him that much money. Okay,
what do you want to Sean Kaiser to take over?
Come on? Well? Sure, I also think it's a it's
a case of not good enough. And I used the
example of let's just say this was Matt Ryan hitting
free agency this passed off season. Do you think Kirk
Cousins is the first quarterback or gets the biggest deal.
Matt Ryan would be the guy over Kirk Cousins in

(01:31:12):
a long show, There's no doubt about it. So for
the Falcons to be a team that also was a
fourth down play away from knocking off the Eagles, which
we talked about yesterday. You mentioned having a twenty point
lead in a Super Bowl to be able to where
the defense was just totally gassed to sit there. If
you're in Atlanta and say, man, we we want someone

(01:31:36):
better than Matt Ryan. Who do you how easy do
you think it's going to get and be? Who do
you think you're going to get instead of Matt Ryan.
I've been critical on Matt Ryan for for a while.
It comes with the position. Yeah, absolutely. But the thing
that you're just gonna go out there like, all right,
this guy is not good enough, let's move it along,
is it's It's ridiculous. I was shocked to hear that.

(01:31:57):
It's just the price of doing business. Man. It's just
the way. It's just how the cost breaks down. You
don't have to like it, but if you don't like it,
then then go to something else, figure something else out.
This is also I think you should be noted. This
is the same fan base who didn't really accept Matt
Ryan early on because they still loved Michael Vick. They
love Michael Vick. You tell me who was more inconsistent

(01:32:20):
as a quarterback, not only on the field but off
the field, Michael Vick or Matt Ryan. I mean, it's
it's it is completely different. You have stability. He's won
some big games. Has he won the biggest game yet? No?
Has he had a lot to work with? Of course?
Is he the best quarterback in the league? Absolutely not.
But this is what the price is. This is the

(01:32:41):
way this stuff goes. It's why when Jay Cutler got
his contract years ago and everybody said, oh my god,
what a waste of money. How could you pay Jay
Cutler that kind of money. Did he actually see all
of that money or did he just get the initial
part of the contract because they moved on. It's amazing
when Jay Cutler got seventeen million dollars years ago, there
was criticism Mike Glennan got that last year. Like if

(01:33:06):
the price tag increases as years go on, you can't
complain about And you also can't correlate it to stats
and numbers because if you were to say that, well,
we paid Matt Ryan thirty million dollars, you better have
another m v P season. There's there's a case that
the Falcons were playing just as good at football as
they did in the Super Bowl year towards the end
of last year. The way that they dominated the Rams

(01:33:28):
in that playoff game. It wasn't like how they dominated
the Packers of the Seahawks the year before in the playoffs,
or are they dominated in New England in the first half,
But they were They were pretty darn good and Matt
Ryan doesn't need to throw for three hundred yards and
three touchdowns and throw the ball all over the yard.
If he throws for two thirty yards, continues to be
the threat and just doesn't turn the ball over. As
Rick mentioned, they're gonna be fine. Then the thirty million

(01:33:51):
dollars is gonna be worth every single pack sooner or later.
You have to look at the alternative. If you hate
your job. If you if you hate your job, then
go man, this job sucks, all right? What's the al
turn IV? All right? Well, then shut up like like
just this is what it is, so deal withdn't make
the most of it. Today's show is brought to you
by True Car. Car shoppy can be confusing with terms
like dealer, price, list, price, and invoice. True Car shows

(01:34:12):
you what other people paid for the car you want,
so you can recognize a good price when you're ready
to buy a new or used Carve is a True

is Dan Buyer. I am Jonas Knox. This is Fox
Sports Radio. We're in for Doug Gottlieb here on fs ARE.
You can get Dan on Twitter at Dan Buyer on Fox.
You can give me at the Jonas Knocks coming up next,
a controversial player in the NFL has made some surprising remarks.

(01:34:35):
Find out what they were next. On FSR it is
the Doug Gottleive Show. No Doug Gottlieb. Today You've got
Jonas Knocks, John Ramos, and myself, Dan Buyer. You can
reach us on Twitter. I'm at Dan Buyer on Fox
and Buyrus spelled beat u y e er. Whoever said
all the Isaiah's Thomas tweet earlier on Fox Sports Radio
has no idea how to smell my last name. But

(01:34:55):
that's all right, So Dan Burr on Fox God because
they were missing an e. Jonas your Twitter handle is
at the Jonas Knocks and John Ramos, Well, we're celebrating
single to Mayrow this weekend, and I think it's fitting
that we give out a new J. S. Ramo zero
six Twitter account. Did you see did you see how

(01:35:16):
they misspelled my like b e why are Like? I
could understand b why e r, but they went reverse
b E y are On Fox there was no there's
no link to it because there wasn't open and hey,
let's just leave it. But Asaiah Thomas liked it, so

(01:35:37):
by the way we should it should let everyone know
Dan less than ten minutes from now another edition of
the John Ramo Show. I mean he's hit two winners
in a row. He's going for a third winner in
a row. And as the great Steve Gorman always says,
Hello John, the trifecta of five minutes sports knowledge, and
that has got a Twitter handle as well. Right at
John Ramos Show R A M O S J O

(01:36:00):
H N IF. I figured I should spell it out
for people now as simple as that. Can you spell
out O T A S Some Browns doing some some workouts,
some rookie workouts, if you will, and one. Baker Mayfield
meeting the media today after a workout is the first
overall pick. There were video clips of him throwing passages

(01:36:22):
over fellow first round pick Denzel Ward. Baker Mayfield was
asked today by reporters after working out with the Browns
about it, if you'd be willing to sit behind Tyrod
Taylor for the season human nature. Yeah, I want to
play there, if there's no doubt about that. But in
whatever way I can make the team better and whatever
way I can grow and learn from, you know, whatever

(01:36:42):
is happening, then I need to do that, you know,
whether I'm talking about that year, it was I sat
out and I got to go up against the great
defense every day in practice. And I learned from coach Stoops,
Bob and Mike because their defensive minded coaches going up
against them, learning what their tendencies were, how they thought.
And I can only just work on myself. So Baker
Mayfield saying all the right thing as he met reporters
today in Ohio. Oh okay, you're ready to make well,

(01:37:10):
we're talking Browns. I remember Michael Jackson and the Browns.
I used to be the best when they would be
doing a highlight on prime time and and uh was it.
T J would go, Tom Jackson go, they go off
to Michael Jackson the Browns. Uh here's uh. I just
I cannot believe that Baker Mayfield went number one overall.

(01:37:34):
I just it just stunned at the fact that Baker
Mayfield went number one overall. I mean, man, it what
a what a terrible pick by the Cleveland Browns to
take Baker Mayfield overall. I mean, you know, John Dorsey,
like one of the most well respected town evaluators in
the NFL. Uh. You know, Scott mccluhen, brought in is
a to help out on the draft, to be a consultant,
one of the most respected talent evaluators in the NFL.

(01:37:57):
But no, no, they got it wrong, Dan, because I
didn't have it on my draft. So annoyed man, I've
listened to this crap for a week. When you're being
fed garbage by radio hosts around the country who are
telling you Baker Mayfield was a bad pick and you
want to know why because they didn't have him going
number one on their mock draft. Shut up, here's the reality.

(01:38:19):
McLuhan and Dorsey have forgotten more about football than you know.
If they say he's the guy, they have have earned
the right to make the pick and us to go,
all right, we'll wait and see this one out. Okay,
we'll wait and see it out. But isn't it when
you hear Alonzo high Smith come out and say that
he was high on Donald the whole time, and then

(01:38:41):
they met Baker Mayfield In a position where you are
making a decision that you take all emotion out of it,
you take anything, you try to get as much information
as you can to make the most educated, really low risk,
no risk situation that you can so you hear Alonso
Highsmith say we had Donald number one all the way

(01:39:04):
through that I met him, and that that I met
Mayfield and that changed. Isn't that that That's not the
draft process, That's not why you go to the combine
and and have that feel like I get like a
gut feeling we make picks and fantasy football of like
a gut decision. But I think that's the part where

(01:39:24):
it was that comment that sto you know, stood out
to me of saying, okay, wait a second in this
business where you are trying to find the guy and
try to take all risk out of the equation, because
it's your job on the line to have like a
face to face meaning, oh I like the guy. You
know he charmed me. That's what stood out like a
sore thumb to me. Here's what I heard. And I'm

(01:39:47):
not I don't want to out anybody here, but this
is what I heard. I heard that Sam Donald when
he got together with certain teams around the league, maybe
not the brightest bulb, you know what I mean. And
so when I see these comments come out, I don't
look at it so much as a wow, we just
got a feeling they're going to tell you all that,
but I don't think they want to out Sam Donald

(01:40:10):
to any to his team or anybody like that. It
may have been a situation where they put him on
the on the white board. I almost said shockboard, but
I realized it's not the eighties when they put him
on the white board and said, all right, tell us
what's going on here in this play. Tell us what's
happening here. And that's how they got a better field,
that he's gonna have a better command, and so on
and so forth. And then also if you were to

(01:40:31):
just look right, if if I were to ask you,
you gotta put money on who's going to have better
success with a better supporting cast right now? Sam Donald
or Baker Mayfield. Man Like, if you were to just
look at the what's around Sam Donald, should he potentially
play early? And he's probably going to because of Josh
McCown's injury history. And you look at what Baker Mayfield's
got to work with. The Browns are by far and

(01:40:54):
away more talented than Cleveland on offense. I just think
that a lot of this people they like the nice guy,
and they get the nice story, and and so many
of them don't wanna don't want to have to admit
to the fact that maybe the guy who grabbed his
crotch and planted a flag and ran from police and

(01:41:14):
had food spilled Oliver's shirt might actually be a better
quarterback than the guy who had none of those issues.
And I'm just willing to let this play out because
I think those guys have a reputation amongst people that
know things in the NFL that they've earned the right
to make a pick and us to be like, Okay,
maybe they know something we don't. My problem with mock
drafts as not we're starting to see something from twenty nineteen.

(01:41:36):
And I truly feel this. I don't think I think
that there's two camps. I think that there's a camp
of I've watched college prospects at the Senior Bowl, I've
seen them in the Combine, I've watched their game tape
from college. This is what I really like about the guy,
and I kind of know something about the NFL. Or
you've got pure NFL guys who know about what's happening

(01:41:58):
in the National Football League, and then all of a sudden,
see a list of prospects in the NFL and says
all this team may need a defensive tackle, or this
team may need this, or this coach could be with that.
There isn't a There isn't a double like somebody who
hasn't so focused on the draft and the prospects knows
the exact needs of certain teams. And the only reason

(01:42:19):
I've noticed this is I've seen a lot with the
Seahawks this past offseason. There was zero point zero, zero,
zero percent chance the Seahawks would ever draft a cornerback
in the first round. But as I'm sitting there looking
at mock drafts Jonas for a team that didn't make
the playoffs that have followed for so long, I keep
on seeing Josh Jackson quarterback Iowa, fills the spot left

(01:42:41):
by Richard Sherman. That's the last thing that the Seahawks needed.
In fact, they were actually happy enough with Shakille Griffin
and was bringing in Byron Maxwell, which the deal didn't
get done, but it was expected that they were going
to bring him back, that they were probably set at corner,
you know, for for that time being. But you had
everybody like putting him in those spots. And I'm sure

(01:43:02):
and it's not just the Seahawks specific thing. I'm sure
there are other fans of teams that have just seen, well, geez,
our our front office doesn't do it like that, or
we wouldn't go for that position. The only thing that
I think I saw that was true was that Derwin
James would go to the Chargers if he felt like
that was the only thing that I thought, like, Okay,
I've seen that before. But Vita Villa was never going

(01:43:22):
to the Buccaneers. And I know that there was a trade,
but it was like, oh, maybe you could, you know,
be a Raiders guy and this and that. That's where
the mix of mock drafts that that I always just
feel that I just feel are off base. And the
NFL draft season is one of my favorite times in
sports radio because we've talked about it before. It combines
the two most popular sports in the country to where

(01:43:43):
you've got the NFL and college football. And the reason
why the draft is so much fun is because it's
the only time that those two sports are on center
stage together. But what comes along with that, there's a
drawback to it because then you have a motion and
you have what you know from college and how it
translates to the NFL, Like, like, working in South Carolina,

(01:44:05):
I got to start following and start covering South Carolina football.
And so because of that, I've always kept a close
eye on South Carolina ever since then and just sort
of what's happening. Sky More was a linebacker for South Carolina.
He is one of only fifteen players in college football
history that led his team in tackles all four years

(01:44:27):
and he and he was a ball hawk. He uh
tied the USC record for interceptions in his career, and
towards the later rounds Day two and Day three, I'm like,
all right, where sky More gonna go? Man, that guy
was really really good at South Carolina undrafted, Like we
don't like these guys. There's more to just Okay, well

(01:44:47):
what did you do in college? This has got to
be it. And I just feel like that's also another
part of this that people look too much at at
the college process and they don't realize it. It's a
whole another love to that, Like there's a complete another
level and that's where guys like John Dorsey and Scott
mccluan come in, where they're able to look around and go, okay,

(01:45:08):
well this makes a lot of sense here This is
like Dnel Pumphrey. That was a surprise, right, people didn't
see that. But you know what, man, the Seahawks have
had a history of of making great shape um rich shot.
The Seahawks have. They've been able to find talent where
other teams have. So I'm willing to cut them some slack.

(01:45:29):
But the idea that people are trashing this it's for
two reasons. One because it's it didn't fit their mock draft,
and two because it's the Browns and so people see
an easy target and that's why they jump in on it.
Mock drafts nineteen are out there right now, and I've
already looked, not so much for the player. What do
they think that in this draft? You know, like that

(01:45:52):
you got it, you got him in the twenties, maybe
making a playoff push, or you're gonna put them in
the top ten, because I think things are gonna fall apart.
That's what I'm looking at by away. I'm telling I'm
calling it right now, two thousand twenty mock draft book
it right now. Guess who's going number one overall? Um
Jake from close a player player? All right there? It is,

(01:46:16):
take that to the bank, all right, Dan Buyer, Jonas
knocks him for Doug Gottlieb here Fox Sports Radio. Coming
up next, it is the moment you've all been waiting for.
He tries to go for a third straight ratings bonanza.
The John Ramo Show is next year on FSR. But
for all the latest from around the world with Sports Steve,
Thank you on Good Afternoon once again. The Mets will

(01:46:38):
designate picture Matt Harvey for assignment. He refused to go
to the minors in Monterey, Mexico this weekend. A Major
League three game series Dodgers versus San Diego, chance of
rain tonight. Tomorrow's game will be on FS one. One
of the late games tonight, Angels at Seattle, Albert Pools
just one hit away from three thousand in his major
league career. Detroit's at Kansas City. The Tigers place first

(01:47:00):
baseman Miguel Cabrera on the disabled list with a strain hamstring. Atlanta,
winners of five straight, will be hosting San Francisco at
seven thirty Eastern. Jose Bautista joins the Braves tonight. He'll
be playing third base. The Seahawks release defensive end Cliff Avriel,
saying he failed a physical. Abril had next surgery. Last year,
Former Chiefs linebacker Derrick Johnson agreed to a deal with

(01:47:21):
the Raiders, according to NFL Network, reportedly canceling a visit
from linebacker Brian Cushing Miami claimed former Jets QB Bryce
Petty off Waivers Buffalo named Dan Morgan as director of
Player Personality is a former Carolina linebacker. NASCAR Pole qualifying
was on FS one. Kyle Larsoner in the poll for
Sunday at Dover and Tiger Woods is two overpar after

(01:47:42):
a second round seventy three and Charlotte Earlier today, the
projected cut is now three over. It is Phil Mickelson
at one over par with a couple holes still to
go in his second round. Rory McElroy is two over
with one hole to go. Back to you, thank you
very much, Stephen. Just as we were talking quarterbacks, a
stark stick Todd Bowls today saying after Sam Donald's first day,

(01:48:04):
saying he was great, I wanted to play right now.
So even he was mocking the first he was even mocked,
but but he was mocking. He was mocking the question.
So he's gotten in on the joke with us. Now
if he especially, here's the worst part next to the Browns.
Who's the worst historically? It's selecting quarterbacks in the draft

(01:48:27):
the Jets. But all of a sudden, the Jets have
figured it out. Everybody, They have figured out the quarterback
spot in the draft. Come on, the Jets Jerks defense.
Browns have a good defense. But I would take the
Jets defense over what Cleveland's got better coach too, Yeah,
I think that's fair. He's Jonas Knocks. I'm Dan Buyer.

(01:48:48):
This is the Doug Gottlieb Show on Fox Sports Radios.
We are in for Doug today and that is Does
it get any better than this? I think it's the

(01:50:16):
Ben Simmons last night? Eric had one point in an
NBA playoff game? I did, I did? But John, remember
trust the process? Yes, yes, trust the process. I'm trying, Eric,
But at least myself and Ben Simmons have something in common. Really,
you and you and Ben Simmons? What's that? Well? I
only had one point when I lost last night's argument
to my wife Suzanne. Does the NBA need a ten

(01:50:42):
point shot? I'll tell you that the genre almost show.
Mad Balls man big sponsor this year. I got a
mad ball when I was a kid. I was oh mad.

(01:51:02):
Remember giggle cookies, everybody. I honestly don't want this show
to start because I want to keep on hearing this song.
This is a really good Canada. We'll chat with the
Queen of Pop later in our in depth interview. Also,

(01:51:28):

Sessing me Street character, Mind's account now a John Ramo
Show staple. The Gen Ramo Show gives you keep getting

(01:51:49):

Fox Sports one, who covers that all get battle Megabar

(01:52:33):
and his evil henchman sticks and stones and tombstone of course.
Oh yeah, Dan gives me mouth to mouth and let's
hear it for Selene Dion. Yeah, Selene, my heart will
not go on without you, and we'll get into that

(01:52:53):
later in an in depth interview. Hey, don't forget there's
still plenty of time for you to vote on tonight's
poll question, and of course, make sure to use the
hashtag the John Ramos Show. Also coming up a Gen
Romal Show exclusive. Is Russell Westbrook hard to play with?
I'm not sure anyone has touched this topic, but I will.
But now it's time to travel the world. What the

(01:53:14):
wild wide world and now it's the wide world of
ramos or meaningful sports stories. We just couldn't get two
into vote a full segment to all right. Dateline running,
South Africa's Castor Semina set a national record as she
claimed victory in the woman's fift at the first Diamond

(01:53:36):
League event of the season. Seminar has one gold in
the discipline. Has one gold in the discipline at April's
Commonwealth Games, posted a three minute second. The twenty seven
year old, the two time olympiad, could be impacted by
new rules guys around testosterone levels and female runners. When

(01:53:59):
asked about the ruling, semina Ya said, I don't talk
about nonsense. Kenya's Nellie jack Doc finished second in four
minutes nine nine seconds, while Ethiopia's Habitan Aluma finished third.
Dateline cycling, Britain's Chris Frome, who crashed in practice, finished

(01:54:19):
thirty seven seconds behind winner Tom Dumelin. On the first
stage of the Giro Dia Talia in Jerusalem. The thirty
two year old landed heavily on his right hip hours
before the time trial ended. He later said his injuries
were quote superficial. Defending gyro champion and world time trial
champion Domelan beat Rohan Dennis by two seconds to win

(01:54:41):
the state time travel or time trial, time time Trials
and last but not least, dateline football Manchester United's boss
Jose Mara Nojo says says he would help pack and
carry assistant raw fra bags should Arsenal want him as

(01:55:03):
their new manager. It has been reported Frau forty two
is an Arsenal shortlist to replace Arsenal's wenger, who will
leave at the end of the season after twenty two
years in charge. By the way, guys, just quick note,
Liverpool's assistant manager Zrecha Joe buk Fah has been also
suggested as potential successor. The German is currently spending time

(01:55:26):
away from the Merseyside club for personal reasons. Also, former
gunners Michael Arta and Patrick Viera have also been mentioned,
as former Barcelona coach Larise Enrique and get this Guy's
Juntos manager Massamliano. You Ventus would can I buy two valves?

(01:55:58):
Hello God, this is the time we have for tonight,
A big show to everyone who twitted in US theag
The John Wabble Show. Also thanks to Selene to for
being tonight's special musical guest. Sorry, Selene, we'll have to
get to your interview next time, and Eric I'll catch
you on the flippity flop this thing now. I did

(01:56:28):
hear some some yelling in the background, pure frustration when
you were wide world a Ramos. When you were you
were breaking down the news from soccer around the world.
Nine football yeah, and uh, Steve de seger are our
la liga inside? Yes? I was very upset with some
of the pronunciation of the names of some of those Steve,

(01:56:50):
what jumped out to you? That what was done incorrectly?
All of it? By the way, Steve, before we move
on with your thoughts and hashtag the John Ramos Show.
Did you like the to I liked it. I think
you're he's catering to a bunch of different audience. I

(01:57:12):
thought you could have gone in a different direction with
the castor Semenya story too, but perhaps that's for a
future episode. Uh pronounced that again, John? What you said there?
It's French for you are the best? I thought that
was like an odd Sinco de Mayo. I had no
idea hashtag the John Ramo Show. Car shopping can't be

(01:57:34):
confusing with terms like dealer price, list, price, and invoys.
True Car shows you what other people paid for the
car you want, so you can recognize a good price
when you're ready to buy a new or used car.
Visit True Car to enjoy a more confident car buying experience.
He's standby or I'm Jonas Knocks. This is Fox Sports
Radio win for Doug Gottlieb. If you would like to
provide show content ideas to John Ramos, and if you
provide enough of them, we have already gotten word from management.

(01:57:56):
If you tweet at John Ramos Show enough and you
follow him, we will be back a week from now right,
But if you don't, we're not. So you've got yeah
so so it's totally on you. Um up next year
on Fox Sports Radio, though, we've got a couple of
news and notes from around the world of sports we've
gotta get to. That's next here on FSR. This is

(01:58:18):
the Doug Gottlieb Show on Fox Sports Radio. It is
the Doug Gottlieb Show. I'm Dan Buyer. That's Jonas KNOXI
is John Ramos. After an award winning John Ramos show,
Jimmy Boom tweeting in they really need to rename the
Marconi Award the Ramos. We couldn't agree more. Let's see
what Steve Steve Disager's got to say in the press.

(01:58:39):
Good afternoon, gentleman. Of course, may the Force be with you.
It is Star Wars Day with John Ramos at the controls.
By the way, fun fact, Amazon Prime says the most
repeatedly stream film out of the whole saga, the original
rank frank, they rank the most viewed of the Star

(01:59:01):
Wars films. We're not talking about the one spinoff that
was separate though, mean three and a half whatever it was.
By the way, did you notice that the Dodgers before
the season, they announced they were gonna have a Kennley
Jansen Star Wars bobble head. It was added to the
promotional schedule. I've seen the picture. It's like a like
a land. It's a Kennley cal Rissie and they say
he's got the cape on just like Billy d Williams

(01:59:23):
and everything doesn't Aaron Judge bobblehead. I think the Yankees
have related to Star Wars, related to the solo. What's
the one where C three Pio battles of heroin addiction
is that that's you're thinking of deadliest Catch? Sorry, we'll
move on and May the fourth, of course, the Dodgers
with Kennley Jansen maybe does crack. May the fourth actually

(01:59:48):
referred to the number of blown saves by Kenley Jansen.
By then we can update the Gulf two over par Is.
The projecting cut in Charlotte Tiger Woods is two over.
And Phil Mickelson, how's he doing? Is he gonna be
playing this weekend? He's a two over with a hole
to go. Rory McIlroy just finished at two over par Dan.

(02:00:08):
I know you know a little bit about golf, but
Jonas is on the show, So Jonas, what's golf without
these enormous names. If they can't make the cut this week, well,
I've always said at Quail Hollow, which is where they're
playing this tournament, if you don't have Tiger Woods and
Phil Mickelson, you don't have them. By the way, they're

(02:00:29):
gonna be true. If Phil can part the last, they're
gonna make the cut. It's not gonna drop the plus one,
it will stay at plus two. They'll be They'll just
have an early tea time and it'll be Golf Channel
watching tomorrow. I listen. I disagreed, and I just don't
want to talk about him. You can move on. If
you guys were watching the NBA playoffs last night's the
Philly fan that was in the front row constantly, especially

(02:00:50):
first half cheering, was Kevin Hart. Of course, he was
born in Philadelphia. A rough landing for his team and
as well for Kevin Hart in Boston yesterday because he's private.
That blew attire landing at Logan Airport yesterday and a
Snapchat video he says the plane fish tailed like crazy.
Got real angels on my back, he said. He posted
an Instagram photo of himself and a couple other comics

(02:01:11):
squatting with their hands clasp in prayer, saying God is
good with a capital G. Had our first serious airplane scare.
Our pilot handled the situation perfectly. Glad he's safe. I
don't know if that's worse than being not allowed on
the Super Bowl podium like he was. He was denied.
He got the heisman on that one. By the way,
the ratings out for the game last night, five million

(02:01:34):
viewers for a late cable game. That was great numbers
for a last night cable news shows usually do the best.
And that's what two and a half to three million
five million for that late NBA game last night? Impressive?
Still is anybody commented as to why? I mean that
that ought to tell you something and maybe it's just
more the Raptors are such a non draw than Lebron

(02:01:56):
is a draw? Why they were the three pm Pacific startime?
And you don't get the Toronto market in the US ratings. Uh?
And finally, Tim Tebow And Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Each went
deep during a double a clash between their Binghamton and
New Hampshire teams. Tim Tebow's Rumble Ponies of Binghamton in
a home game, came away with a ten to six victory.

(02:02:17):
That's pretty cool. I am you press. I would like
to see Tim Tebow play a game in the big leagues.
I would a game, yeah, I mean just I mean
the point being like No. Two is too much. No,
I mean I would like to see him. I just

(02:02:37):
think he's a great guy. Like you know, people can
take shots. I think he's a great guy. John Ramos
is a great guy. If he's playing at Dodger Stadium.
I'm not going doubleheader tonight. I like the Warriors and
