(00:46):
But this is a very unpacker like packer team as
the world would get a chance to see the Green
Bay Packers. They take out on the Washington Commanders. Two
really talented quarterbacks. Jane Daniels won a Heisman then set
the world on fire as a rookie starting quarterback with
(01:07):
the Commanders last year, and Jordan Love, of course first
round picks hat for a couple of years and despite
the fact he had what people are calling a regression season.
I think he threw thirty one touchdown passes last year,
which ain't bad, and he was hurt. Now he's come
back from the preseason thumb injury ready to go. But
when I say Unpacker like right, they add Matthew Golden
(01:28):
first round draft pick at wide receiver, and then of
course they make a huge trade, huge trade for an elite,
elite pass rusher in Micah Parsons. Right before the season begins,
here's Jordan Love, Packers quarterback talking about his team.
Speaker 2 (01:45):
I think it's a group that we've had, and then
I think we've just added even more with MG and say, so,
you know, I think that's always been a cool part
about our offense. We've got so many weapons all across
the board and guys who you know, can actually come
in and have an impact every time they're on the
field and touching the ball. So we've got some really
cool playmakers, which you know, makes my job fun trying
to spread the love round and spread the ball around
(02:06):
and get all these guys touches. But I think to
that part too, it just puts a little bit more
stress on the defense of who they want to try
and you know, put their best guys on and spend
more time trying to cover, so just keeps them, you know,
on their heels a little bit.
Speaker 1 (02:19):
And this is I mean again, it's a it's a
great test. Does it benefit the Packers that they play
two games at home? Shore It benefited the Packers some
that the Lions, working through new coordinators, did not appear
to be nearly what they had been for the most
part of the past couple of seasons. Now we'll still,
you know, it's still we don't know what the Lions become.
(02:41):
They may become great, they may be terrible. We don't know.
And it's also weak one of the season. But you
play two games, you're playing both at home. They were
able to keep Jordan Love mostly upright. Sixteen to twenty two,
one hundred and eighty eight, two touchdowns to o interceptions.
Josh Jacobs nineteen carries, sixty six yards and really a
lot of short runs had won. I think he broke
(03:03):
off for fifteen yards. But he's talking about his ensemble
cast right, Golden the rookie two catches, Dobbs two catches,
Jayden Reid three catches, Wis two catches. I mean, it
really was able to spread around kind of an ensemble
cast versus what Washington does, which is different. Now, Washington,
(03:26):
their pass rush just bludgeoned, bludgeoned the Giants right, and
then they were able to run the football because the
game wasn't super competitive. This is a different level of game.
These are two expected playoff teams. Trying to figure out
Jaydon and Daniels and what happens in year two? Has
anybody able to figure him out? Trying to figure out
(03:46):
with the Green Bay Packers, they haven't had a number
one wide receiver? Do they have one in Matthew Golden
at this point in his career? And then Micah Parsons,
who played less than fifty percent of the snaps. How
does he play against the Commanders, a team he's played
against twice a year every year for all four years
he's in the league. How does he play to day?
(04:07):
There's a great first standalone regular season outside of the
first week matchup. But the Packers some Unpacker like things
in drafting a wide receiver first round and having Micah
Parsons be traded for right before the season. Also, you know,
you'd be fair to say that Washington Dodges the bad
(04:31):
weather a little bit. Where I'm looking outside, it's overcast.
It's not beautiful and Sunday the way it was Sunday.
But it's you know, it's not like we're talking about
when the Ravens come here December twenty seventh. That's like
a different sport to be played, different sport. Fantasy Wise,
(04:51):
Dan Byer, by the way, Dan has the I Want
Your Flex podcast. Hey, Fantasy Wise, who do you expect
to have a big game? We turn on this Mike there,
Thank you very much.
Speaker 3 (05:04):
Hello, Hello.
Speaker 4 (05:06):
All right, you're playing everybody that you would have drafted
in your fantasy drafts. And by that I mean obviously
you're playing Jayden Daniels in this contest. Obviously you're playing
Josh Jacobs, you're playing Terry McLaurin. The interesting thing, Doug is,
I would actually think that the Commanders, because they didn't
(05:27):
look great against the Giants, and I thought that the
Packers looked really good, that normally things would even out
in Week two, but short week Packers at home, you
kind of tend to lean to that side of things.
I think that I do think that Terry McLaurin could
have a pretty big game for the Commanders in this contest,
just because it seemed like he and the Commanders were
(05:50):
still getting their legs under them in that matchup against
the Giants. So I think you play everybody that you
initially drafted. However, if you're expecting a big game, I
would go with Terry McLaurin at the Commanders. I think
it'll be a fun one tonight. You know, it's interesting
to listen to Jordan Love because I think we look
at this twenty twenty five season. Doug as about the
(06:13):
twenty twenty five Packers, and I'm sure that's probably how
they want us to talk about them, But it doesn't
work that way for Love, just because of who he
has followed. And he's going to turn twenty seven years
old this year. Brett Favre, when he was twenty seven
with the Green Bay Packers, won a Super Bowl against
the New England Patriots. When Aaron Rodgers is twenty seven
(06:36):
years old, he wins a Super Bowl against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Now,
Farv had the benefit of having a guy like Reggie
White lead the defense. So maybe Farv wasn't the face
of the team, the leader of the team, but he
was the quarterback of the team. And when you look
at that wide receiving corps that they had in Green Bay,
(06:57):
there wasn't. They brought in Andre Risen mid season, and
also he catches a touchdown pass in the Super Bowl.
We didn't know who Antonio Freeman was at that point
in his career. We knew who Greg Jennings was in
Green Bay, but I don't think we were talking about
top level investment even though he was a second round
pick for Green Bay. So all the things that you
(07:20):
mentioned of a Micah Parsons being brought in, of them
drafting Matthew Golden, the Josh Jacobs move last year, I
think still can play this year. All of those things happening, Actually,
I think add more pressure to a guy like Jordan Love,
not only because of what they have given to him
and what you said were unpacker like ways, but also
because of the two previous quarterbacks that we so connect
(07:42):
love too. With this organizations, it's a super interesting game.
Speaker 1 (07:49):
And as much as we don't like Thursday night football,
players don't like Thursday night football, and Jay stew has
pointed out throughout the NFL season how the level play
isn't great and when you have guys have this quick
a turnaround, it stands a reason the level play might
not be great. I do think this year in the
season they still have enough gas in the tank to
make it exciting. It's weird, though, you know, you could
(08:14):
there is a way in which those first Thursday and
Friday night teams not granted the Friday night right now
they're playing. They played in sal polo. But you there's
so many ways in which you could give teams a
chance to play on full rest, right. I just I
find it interesting that this is the way it's scheduled. Also, Packers,
you know, again opening with two home games, this is
(08:37):
a great op. You end up two to zero, two
home games and a win over division rival, and you know,
two NFC wins. You're feeling really really good. One in
one feels feels a little bit like going to feels
like going to. You didn't have to travel. It wasn't
though the lead up to it was big. The game
itself was not a stress field. Had to play your
(09:00):
guys and play great to win. So you're as rested
as you're going to be on Thursday night if you're
the Green Bay Packers. I just think this is one
in which the pressure should be on them to win.
That's really the story of their season, which is they
have to shift over from Hey, they got a lot
of young guys and they're better than we thought too.
(09:23):
Now you're put in position by the front office and
by our preseason prognostication as being a team that can
make the super Bowl, so the expectations become greater as well.
Speaker 4 (09:34):
Ben Maller always says that the story is in the
losing locker room. We know that Jason Stewart kind of
roots for chaos because of content. Jordan Love not cashing
in this year, whether he's fully healthy or not, is
not an excuse, but there is a lot on the
line for him this season. I don't know when we've
talked about storylines, I don't know if he's popped up
(09:56):
as one. But when you talk about what I just
did with the ages of twenty seven and now you're
starting out this season with a win against the Lines,
things could set up. But if his availability isn't there,
then it could be not a lost season for green Bay,
but an extremely valuable wasted opportunity if it doesn't come
to fruition. There are teams putting them in the Super Bowl.
(10:19):
We have a promo running from Dan Patrick where I
think Marvin is saying he's booking his hotel rooms for
the Bay Area in February, or Packer fans should be
doing so, like that's what we took after a week one.
And in addition to that, there's so much other added pressure.
Speaker 1 (10:32):
Yeah, there's a ton of added pressure. And then look,
then you have the other side, which is the Commanders
and so many there's so many teams have been great
in a quarterback's rookie season. Can they take the next step?
Speaker 5 (10:48):
Right?
Speaker 1 (10:48):
Can Jane Dana take the next step? Can Cliff Kingsbury
take the next step? As an offensive coordiner? Dan Quinn
has built championship teams in the past. Can they take
the next step? Remember, schedules more difficult. Heavy is a
head that wears a C. And sure the Giants game
was a great way for them to get started, and
they had the PA, they had the Raiders at home.
What I know, the Raiders just beat New England. But
(11:10):
that's East coast back west coast, back to east coast.
But this begins to stretch for the Commanders, where three
of the next four on the Road and Packers, Falcons, Chargers,
they still have Cowboys and Chiefs. Yeah, this is a
it's an interesting second season for Jane Daniels. I don't know.
I think we do this thing in the NFL every
(11:31):
year where we make a determination about who a team
is when we watch them for one week, and then
usually week two we have the opposite opinion. I wonder
what that looks like week one and a half. I
wonder what it looks like week one and a half.
And by one and a half, I mean they played Sunday.
Speaker 4 (11:46):
This is this is Thursday.
Speaker 1 (11:49):
This is Thursday.
Speaker 3 (11:50):
Be sure to catch the live edition of The Doug
Gottlieb Show weekdays at three pm Eastern noon Pacific on
Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 1 (12:02):
It's the Doug Gottlieb Show, Fox Sports Radio. I ever
want to try an Olympic and Paralympic sport, Try fencing.
It's fast, safe and easy to start. Find a beginner
class near you at USA Fencing dot org slash try Fencing.
That's USA Fencing dot org slash Try fencing. Georgia takes
on Tennessee. Right, Georgia takes on Tennessee And I saw
(12:27):
this note right. Dating back to November ten, twenty twenty one,
Tennessee has won twenty three of its last twenty four
games at Neiland Stadium, the lone loss twenty twenty three
to Georgia. Not only have the Bulldogs beaten the Balls
under Josh Hipel, they've done so comfort comfortably, winning each
matchup by at least fourteen points. The Bulldogs have won
(12:51):
eight straight over Tennessee. That's ownership in the SEC. And
of course they take on the balls this weekend in Knoxville.
That I got the show. It's Fox Sports Ready. He
joins us every Friday. Then he goes and does his
work and gets ready to get on set big noon kickoff.
You watch it on Fox. He's Chris FeliCa because Bear
Bets is his podcast. Felix, Let's get right after it. Georgia, Tennessee, Knoxville,
(13:18):
one hundred and six thousand people. Tennessee's a home dog
to the Dogs. Totals forty forty nine a half.
Speaker 5 (13:26):
This is what I like to going back to our
days when we used to talking back at the old
the old place where we both work. I used to
dub a game and a team a dog with fleas.
Tennessee is that dog with fleas. Now I'm not ensuing that,
insinuating that twelk he actually has fleas, But the Tennessee
team is the underdog that has all these fleas, which
(13:47):
are like the people, all all of them. This number
has come down from seven and a half, seven six, sixth,
had whatever is all the way down to three and
a half. There's a if you can find someone muttering
this sund I love Georgia this week, that's that'll be
the first time you hear that. But I do like
Georgia at this number, especially. I think what we've seen
(14:09):
early in the year from George it's a little bit understandable.
You've had Gunner stocked in a quarterback. He's been missing
to starting offensive lineman since the first quarter of game
number one, Game number two, granted it was against an
overmatched opponent, a bunch of start and stop weather DeLay's
in there. It just really hasn't looked the part of
(14:29):
what you'd expect from Georgia early in the year for
those reasons. Now I think you look this week, they're
going to get at least one of those offensive linemen back. Defensively,
they look much better than I thought A lot of
people would would think that we're going to be this year.
And if you look up the Josh Hipel Kirby Smart
and matchups, you're looking at this situation where in those
four games, Tennessee has averaged a total of fourteen point
(14:52):
three points per game. They've only reached the red zone
six times in the last three games. So it has
been a tough go for Tennessee Against Georgia, I like
the Bulldogs here minus three and a half.
Speaker 1 (15:06):
Uh, it's it's uh, it's another SEC game. But they
travel on the road to Notre Dame. You know, last year,
Notre Dame goes in there and gets a win, right,
gets a win, and that really propelled them on their season,
even though they lose the next week to Northern Illinois. Right,
that was the big Which team are they now? They
have Texas A and M coming into their building. A
(15:29):
and M has always been a tease from my perspective,
who do you like A and M? Notre Dame?
Speaker 5 (15:35):
Yeah, and there have been a lot of numbers but
out there this week about their lack of winning some
of these big road games. It's certainly against non conference
opponents at some point, this feels to me like either
Notre Dame takes care of business handily or Texas A
and M finally gets that outright win in the dog world.
But I can't help but think back to that game
(15:56):
last year with the pros that the AGI's had on
that defense, and how Notre Dame was able to control
the line of scrimmage and move the ball. Now. I
know it's a little bit of a different offensive line
for Notre Dame this year and they had trouble blocking
the Miami front in the opener, but I think the
week off, probably Notre Dame to win this game would
not surprise me if any and then went there in one.
(16:16):
But I think if you're looking for a little bit
of an interesting way to potentially bet this or take
a long term macro view at Notre Dame if you
don't like them, here see maybe if you can find
a price on Notre Dame potentially to miss the playoff
or go taking the just the season win total under
because you're looking at a Notre Dame team that would
(16:37):
be ten and two with probably the best win they
could have being a win over USC might be the
only team that potentially could be ranked at the time
that they play them, So I think Notre Dame will
probably get a win, but not actually going to be
betting this game on my own.
Speaker 1 (16:55):
Arkansas Ole Miss Arkansas two and zero, but playing you know,
non power forward schools. Ole Mess big road win over
Kentucky last weekend games in Oxford, ReBs are a seven
point favorite. Total sixty one and a half.
Speaker 5 (17:13):
I took. I like Arkansas plus the points. I mean,
there are a lot of questions around ole Missus quarterbacks
Austin Simmons and status this game. Reportedly, I've heard that
he hasn't practiced it all this week. He's been in
a boot all week. And I know the kid who
came in last week looked fine. But they Arkansas, I
think might be a little bit better than a lot
of people thought they were going to be entering the
(17:34):
year again. I know to nobody's to start the year,
but they've looked good. I think Sam Pittman has this
team believing in him. I think they can do well
at the line of scrimmage in spots that Ole Miss
has to kind of replenish this year. So I think
you take Arkansas plus the seven or seven and a
half whatever you can find, and then if Simmons is
(17:55):
announced out, if he indeed is out, you cannot be
able to come and buy a little on All miss
at a reduced number and maybe get set yourself up
for a nice medal.
Speaker 1 (18:06):
Okay Florida LSU Florida off. I really disappointed loss to
South Florida at home Travin Lsu, who looked very good
against Clemson when we saw him on the road. LSU's
a seven and a half point favorite that totals forty
seven and a half.
Speaker 5 (18:21):
This might be an opportunity to buy low on Florida.
I know Dallas Baker, the wide receiver, is not going
to play, but also he's got a couple of key
guys out as well on the offensive side of the ball.
And I think if you watch that Florida game last
week with South Florida, they did pretty well running the
ball and moving the ball. Now are they going to
(18:42):
be able to do that against a much better defense
in LSU. I don't know, but it feels like we're
gonna get a situation here where we're going to get
the best we we all thought last year at this
point in the year, Florida was done dooman Gloom, they're dead.
I would expect Billion Apier to get this team ready
(19:02):
to play that. The bigger issue for me with Florida
is if you look at the career, the brief twelve
game career of a DJ lagway against Debs opponents, it's
a much throwing ten touchdowns and ten picks in those
twelve games. So game I still might be moving a
little bit too fast form and on the road in
Death Valley at night, that could potentially be a problem.
(19:23):
So I think LSU will wane, but I could be
interested in taking Florida plus the points.
Speaker 1 (19:28):
Yeah. I mean the one thing is, no matter how
much you want to buy low with ls with with
Florida under the lights and Death Alley, that seems hard.
Speaker 5 (19:39):
And I'm super high on LSU. I've been taking a
lot of a lot incoming on on Twitter about my thoughts,
Like if I had a vote and AP vote, I
would be voting LSU number one just because that and
it's a pretty pretty damn good winn. Even if you're
not super high on.
Speaker 1 (19:55):
Clemson South Florida, Miami, Miami is your boys. We know
there's seven a half point favorite.
Speaker 5 (20:04):
Now I'm not going to say the worst thing in
the world was for South Florida to go to to
go to Gainsville and win, because that's gonna get them
right in the group of five playoff races, probably gonna
get Alex Goulish a Power five job next year. But
for this specific week, if your your focus was to
want to try to sneak into Miami and come away
with a win, that's not going to get the job done.
(20:25):
But they have Miami's full attention on notice. Uh. Last
year in Miami averaged like ten yards of play punted
once put up a fifty burger in Tampa out. I
think it'll be a little bit different this year. I
think what we're going to see is a lot more running,
a lot more physicality, a lot more dominants at the
line of scribbage from that Miami front and both sides
(20:48):
of the balls. I can envision this kind of being
one of those like slow, methodical run, run, run, run,
kind of boom boom boom boom, just long drive and
see this kind of being like a like thirty eight
ten type of game. I like under fifty seven and
a half is my best bet here.
Speaker 1 (21:08):
Okay, last one.
Speaker 5 (21:09):
I know you got to go.
Speaker 1 (21:10):
You're a super busy guy. Chris Filica bear Bets is
in fact the podcast. Clemson a sleep at the wheel
half the game last week. Beat Troy for that. You know,
Dabbo thought they played better than Brian Kelly did. When
they get beat by by LSU, they go to Georgia Tech. Okay,
they go to Georgia Tech. Rambling reck beat Colorado on
(21:32):
the road, beat Gardner Webb at home. Clemson is a
three point favorite, fifty two and a half's to total.
Speaker 5 (21:40):
Everybody in the world appears to be on Georgia Tech.
And I went into the week with the mentality that, Okay,
I might want to buy Clemson at a reduced number,
but thinking that there might be some resistance ultimately and
some buy back. And we've seen resistance in Georgia when
when everybody's been on the on Tennessee, it's kind of
(22:01):
stopped to three and a half. But this game has
gone to three, like we was in a market overreaction
with the number is just wrong. I think it's been
a little bit of a correction, Like I am not
going to be on Clemson lay in the points here.
I was not high on Clemson coming into the year,
and I think what we see from the Tigers in
the first couple of games, they've shown the same type
(22:23):
of problems that they did last year when, oh, by
the way, they lost three games in the regular season.
They have a converted wide receiver at running back, Antonio Williams,
the best wide receiver is still nurse in a hamstring.
I don't know if he's going to play, if he
can go. That's obviously a big edge for the for
the Tigers on the road. But Georgia Tech here, I
(22:44):
get the sense, is a very live dog and this
is a This is a side that a lot of public,
not only a lot of public, but a lot of smart,
sharp people have been on. It is a stay away
from me in terms of making a big bet. But
I could so elite dabble in some uh some not
only Georgia Tech plus three, but maybe some Georgia Tech
money line as well.
Speaker 1 (23:06):
Awesome stuff. Bear Bets is the podcast. Chris Felik is
his name. Check him out. I'm big new kickoff. Thanks
so much for joining us, Felix. We appreciate it.
Speaker 5 (23:14):
I appreciate you. I'm gonna get off without talking about
akron uab this week.
Speaker 1 (23:18):
Come on, Doug, you want to talk about acring you
ab you get.
Speaker 5 (23:23):
Take care, have a great weekend.
Speaker 1 (23:25):
For over forty years, Tyraq has been helping customers find
the right tires for how, what and where they drive
shit fast and free and back by free road ask
protection with convenient out insulation options like mobile tire inslation
tyrat dot com. It sway tire buying should be. It's
down time for our Tyraq play today. Let's go to baseball.
Here's the Mariners radio network to pitch.
Speaker 6 (23:41):
On the way to Leo not Buddy swinging fly ball
deep right field, down the line, walk it off, Leo
rebas Oh, walk up to run, home run. Good bye baseball.
The Bearties sweep the Cardinals in the three game series.
Speaker 3 (23:58):
They have won five.
Speaker 6 (24:00):
Oh oh, look up home run a two run shot
by Leo reevos com Aaron is winning four to two,
hit thirteen and he's Leo getting mobbed at home play.
Speaker 1 (24:12):
So when I when I heard that call and I
saw it in the call sheet, and I've seen that
how the Mariner's been playing, I was like, well, that's great,
but are they they are? As of right now, the
Mariners will be the last team in the playoffs. They're
two and a half back of the Red Sox, two
at back of the Yankees, or seventy six and sixty eight.
After this win streak, they're a game and a half
up on the Rangers, three and a half up on
(24:32):
the on the Guardians. So they're more than just the
big dumper, right, They're more than just a big dumper.
Got the Halos at home for they head to Kansas City.
Still got a series with the Rockies. Yes, they have
a series with the Dodgers as well, But you tell
me you want to talk about unlikely. I mean they
what they lost, I mean the road they lost. They'd
lost it was like four in a row, but seven
(24:55):
of nine before. They've gone on this wind streak, and
now they're they're right back in it. I personally like, again,
I think that the expanded Baseball Playoffs, Jay stew Is,
your Dodgers now one four in a row. I think
the expanded Baseball Playoffs were genius in that. Yeah, it
(25:18):
keeps all these other teams engaged. But this is like
the dream scenario which is going to take place, which
is that the Red Sox, the Yankees, the Dodgers, all
those big name teams, all those big brand teams, they're
all going to be in the playoffs, and you only
get that by expanding the playoffs to this.
Speaker 7 (25:36):
Yeah, I think, I mean, if you're rooting for the
success of baseball or want to have the debate that
is this good for baseball? I know that's buyer's wheelhouse stuff,
But I think that in general, it just increases the
crapshoot that is the postseason, increases the likelihood that the
best teams will win, which I'm never for.
Speaker 1 (26:01):
Yeah, but it isn't that the isn't that kind of
the goal of they need people to watch, they need
people to pay attention. I get it. It's inorganic. It
doesn't reward the regular season. It is a smaller sample size.
And yeah, the more powerful teams you have in with
more resources, with more depth, you would think they'll win
those games. Hey, I I sent this out on text
(26:26):
and I saw the answer, But did it resonate in
your guys mind at all? So I'm watching the Padres
game late last night, and you know, the Padres have
the pinstripe brown pinstripes brown hats, and there was I
feel like it was like a ten year window when
(26:47):
the Padres went to navy, blue and gold instead of
the brown and gold. By when did that start? Like,
and and do we know why it started? Like you're
the uniform police for all of America.
Speaker 4 (27:00):
Foreign police, the whole deal. Yes, yeah, Well I thought
you were talking about the blue and orange from the
nineteen nineties. That's where I thought you were going.
Speaker 1 (27:09):
Well, they had that too. It went from brown to blue,
right and the orange. But then they also went from
orange and they had blue and yellow too, correct.
Speaker 4 (27:18):
Yeah, they went to kind of a sand color is
what they would call it. In fact, they had a
sand colored road uniform. The reason I know that is
because during the Major League Baseball All Star Game, when
you would wear your road uniforms, every team in the
National League had a gray road uniform except the Padres.
So Adrian Gonzalez representing the Padres stood out like a
(27:40):
sore thumb. But it was two thousand and three that
they kind of started to separate from the orange and
then went to the more navy and white, and then
the sand came in at that point and was there
for probably i'd say a decade or a decade and
a half, and.
Speaker 1 (27:57):
Then they went back to the brown. What is it
ten years now they went back to the brown, and
the brown's one of those it's so ugly, it's cool, right,
it's so ugly, it's cool. Like would anyone who has
a brand new team major League Baseball expand I don't
even think brown would be considered, right, it's like what
(28:17):
I use that. That's what's crazy about the Padres color
is they've actually gone back to a color that no
one else would ever expect them to use, and somehow
it works, some outworks.
Speaker 4 (28:29):
They also, you know, they work well with the Camo
stuff as well. When they would have their their alternate uniforms,
they would also have I don't want to call them
the Miami Vice ones, but we know which ones they're
talking about. But they have done a lot of stuff
that is that I think other teams would stay away from.
So I at least like that aspect of the Padres
(28:50):
being at least adventurous in that way. Trying to get
an exact year for you on the when they went
back to the to the to the brown.
Speaker 1 (29:01):
All right, you researched that thing coming up next to
the Doug Gottlieb Show, is it what or who I
think who has the most annoying fan base in sports?
Speaker 5 (29:14):
Who?
Speaker 1 (29:15):
Which team? Which team We'll draft him next?

Speaker 1 (30:05):
Hmmm, what he got there?
Speaker 4 (30:08):
Dan Byer Doug. The game on this Thursday is.
Speaker 3 (30:14):
I feel a draft zip up?
Speaker 4 (30:16):
That code starting to get chilly? Well maybe not just yet,
but in a couple of weeks, long sleeve, maybe some
long underwear on those Friday night high school football games
that's just around the corner. On Sunday night, we saw
the Ravens and Bills play quite a game. We also
saw a Bills fan shoving Ravens players after a Raven's touchdown.
(30:37):
Lamar Jackson not going to be penalized, something I told
you in the updates twenty minutes ago. But we love
Bill's mafia. It didn't seem that we loved that though.
My question to you guys the NFL's most annoying fan
base is that's who we are drafting today. I'm sure
there could be some bias with rivalries, but Doug, you'll
have the first pick, Jason the second. I will pick
(30:57):
third than Ryan. You will have the two swing picks
and will reverse it from that order. Doug, you were
on the clock for the NFL's most annoying fan bases.
Speaker 1 (31:04):
Eagles. Ay gee, oh he uh, you go. Just annoying.
They were annoying when they weren't winning. They're annoying when
they do win. They're just annoying. They live by the
mantra of nobody likes this, so we don't care, and okay,
(31:25):
but we don't like it.
Speaker 4 (31:25):
They're like the Otania fan bases, where they can you know,
pitch and hit. As you said, when they win, they
they're awful when they When they lose, they're just as bad,
if not worse.
Speaker 7 (31:35):
Plussure reminded in that documentary, the Jerry Jones Documentary, that
they bowed a lifeless Michael Irvin on the field in
his very last play as a an NFL player, So
that through a classy And they booed Santa Claus. I think,
isn't that Eagles fans mantra we boo Santa Claus.
Speaker 4 (31:53):
Didn't they boo like Darren Dalton's family or something like that,
or as well? Like I thought, just keep it classy, Philadelphia,
all right, Jason, you're up at number two.
Speaker 7 (32:03):
I don't like little Hanging Fruit. I think it's unimaginative.
I try to be more creative in my art. But
I'm just gonna go with the Dallas Cowboys. Dallas Cowboys
have not won a title since nineteen ninety five. It's
been thirty years, and Dallas Cowboy fans still walk around
(32:24):
like thumping their chest, which is really strange. They don't
have a whole lot to hold on to in the
last thirty years, but they thump their chest and they're
the best. And I'm going to say that they're the
most annoying.
Speaker 4 (32:38):
Thumbing their chest without doing anything is one thing. Thumping
your chest while doing something is another. And I can't
believe I'm going to say this. I am going to
put the Kansas City Chiefs third. And the reason being
is because they are riding this ultimate high right now.
I don't know about you guys, but ten years ago
(33:01):
I knew of about three Chiefs fans told the story.
There was a guy that lived in the apartment complex
where I lived. He was in the building across I
would see him. He had a Chief's license plate frame.
On Sundays, I would see him in a Chiefs jersey.
I'm like, that guy is a Chiefs fan. That guy
is a Chiefs fan. I went to a school event
(33:22):
for my son on Friday and this lady comes up
to me. She says, we got to get back for
the Chiefs game. And it was the grandmother of one
of the students in my son's class. And I was like, wow,
Like where are all these Chiefs fans coming from? These
people are from Burbank. I was like, wow, what is
Where are all these Chiefs fans? And while it's nothing
against the lady at all, they're just everywhere now and
(33:47):
I had never seen that ten years ago. Chiefs go
at number three.
Speaker 1 (33:51):
Chiefs fans are annoying.
Speaker 8 (33:53):
All right, Ryan, you're up four and five. Yeah, this
one's really easy for me. Patriots fan's.
Speaker 4 (34:00):
Patriots fans can't stand them.
Speaker 7 (34:02):
It's a good one.
Speaker 8 (34:03):
I personally can't stand Boston in general. But Patriots fans
have this like idea that everyone's out to get them.
Speaker 5 (34:10):
Uh.
Speaker 8 (34:11):
They if you say anything bad about like Tom Brady
to go, all right, don't talk about my guy Brady
like he like they know him or something.
Speaker 4 (34:18):
It's so knowing.
Speaker 8 (34:19):
I can't stand them. And if you even mentioned that
they cheated, they can like, no, no, my boy Brady
wouldn't do that. Like I can't stand Patriots fans. So
that's why I pick at number four.
Speaker 1 (34:31):
Uh.
Speaker 8 (34:33):
My next pick is even easier. Astros fans. Yes, I'm
a Dodgers fan. Yes, and when the Astros cheated, yes,
and one game seven.
Speaker 7 (34:42):
I really I really want to hear this. I want
to hear the end of it, maybe on in the
Bonus podcast, because this was specifically the most hated fans
in UH in the NFL.
Speaker 4 (34:54):
So push rewind and start over. Uh A f L
fan bases NFL's most annoying fan bases Chargers fans. Come on, dude, Yeah,
I said what I said to how.
Speaker 8 (35:11):
You want to act all twelve of us exactly. You
guys haven't won anything, and all you do is talk
smack who?
Speaker 3 (35:21):
Well, the twelve of you.
Speaker 1 (35:24):
When who? All the time? All right?
Speaker 5 (35:28):
Yet?
Speaker 1 (35:28):
Yet one more pick? Real quick?
Speaker 4 (35:30):
Oh no, he already did. Actually a three picks. He
took the Astros, Charges and Patriots. I think I think
we're good with Ryan Ryan Hi. There are a lot
of a lot of good candidates, but the terrible towel
I've never liked. And I don't know if it's still
from Super Bowl forty and the refs and what they did.
(35:51):
But there's just the Steeler fans just kind of annoy me.
Speaker 5 (35:54):
They just do.
Speaker 4 (35:55):
They have a fan of success all the time. Give
me all the time, give me Pittsburgh.
Speaker 7 (35:59):
I can't believe this is fallen to me. With the
seventh overall pick, what great value. And I'm going to
quote Doug Gottlieb, not all Raider fans are criminals, but
all criminals are Raider fans, and for that reason they
could be very annoying.
Speaker 1 (36:16):
I have a new player into this one and again,
I'll admit most of this has taken off of social media.
But when did Niners fans become so obnoxious and so violent?
Speaker 5 (36:31):
Right?
Speaker 1 (36:32):
They like fight like, they fight like Raider fans and
Eagle fans, and yet they're super entitled like they're Chiefs fans.
When did that happen?
Speaker 4 (36:43):
Good pick? I felt like it would be a homer
pick as a Seahawks fan to pick the Niners, so I.
Speaker 1 (36:47):
Didn't want to do it. Annoying. I do not know
what happened there.
Speaker 4 (36:50):
That's game time, So gottleep show.
Speaker 1 (36:53):
You're on Fox Sports Radio. The year was two thousand
and one. Don't call it a throwback. Thursday next in
