Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Thread is a new hit podcast from Azzi Media
that explores history surprising connections in order to discover how
one thing leads to another, like how movie moguls in
early Hollywood helps spark the me Too movement. Today, get
it on I Heart Radio or wherever you listen. You're
listening to Fox Sports Radio, and John Ramos is here
(00:21):
as well. On this hump day, we may know a
little bit more about the decision that Lebron James is
gonna have to make. We try to find out more
about Kauai Leonard, but we have to start with what
happened this morning? Were you an early riser Jonas to
catch the World Cup action as Mexico despite their loss.
(00:42):
My last name is Knox, says Jonas says. Listen to
the pride of en Sonata right here to your left
and coming through your speakers as Mexico is on. They
are on, They advance, love it. The in laws are happy.
I'm happy. We gotta Ramos on the show, We gotta
Guiana on the show. What's your Let's just call you
(01:04):
by Erican. I'm a big loser today because my German
heritage did not make it to the knockout stage. The
Germans ousted by not getting a win and ended up
losing to South Korea to nil. As they like to say.
You may have heard deb Carson mentioned it in the
latest but I am I am a wounded a wounded
(01:25):
fan if you will. I'm not gonna call myself that
much of a fan, but I know here the Mexico
feelings run strong. John Ramos, with his Mexican heritage, is
also gotta be on on cloud absolutely, John, your thoughts
on Mexico advancing in the World Cup. Only in olyon
soccer can you lose both games and still move on? Right?
(01:47):
A lot of positive positive attitude by John Ramo celebrating. Uh,
the he's the pride of Mexico and he celebrates his
country like that. John, what was what was the best
part of the Mexico loss today against Sweden? What what
was what was the turning point or something that struck you? Uh,
it had to be not scoring a goal? Yes, there
it is? That is That is what you need? Is
(02:10):
what you need? I would love to claim, like I
I will admit guys that the World Cup does have
a different feel to me without the United States in it.
I am not a huge, huge soccer fan, but I'm
not one to reign on the parade. I have watched
matches throughout the World Cup and it has a different feel.
And I was just kind of assuming, all right, Germany
(02:32):
gets that win against Sweden over the weekend and everything
was kind of set in place where I thought Mexico
and Germany were going to to move on. But heck,
like we saw yesterday with Argentina's last second win, they
were thought to be out of it and then end
up in the knockout stage. Germany I thought had sealed
their fate to advance by just beating Sweden. I thought
(02:52):
they'd get past South Korea with no with no trouble,
and uh, that did not happen. So I just got
a text from Manage Danes. They said, uh, we were
given three and a half minutes to talk World Cup
and now we've got to move on to quietly okay,
and don't kill the messenger here. I'm I'm just that
was from upstairs. It was quite It was quite a morning.
And now we've got Brazil, uh playing right now, so
(03:15):
I'm sure a lot of the lot of the soccer
fans are watching it. Well, your brother's bar opened earlier. Yeah, no,
people are fired up, man. Look it comes around every
four years. I think the World Cup is better than
the Olympics. I really do. It's more enjoyable. I love
the I just love the big events, you know, the Masters,
big events, Daytona, big events like that. You watch the
(03:36):
World Cup. It's awesome and I don't need a a
fifteen to three game to to really enjoy it. I
like watching them play in the middle of the field.
Do they dive a lot? Of course, I don't even mind.
Look when Columbia plays, I don't even mind when they
pan up to show the crowd Columbia advance. Don't even
mind it. I will. I will say this when you
talk about flopping, I would rather watch flopping a hundred
(03:59):
times over a defensive back waving his arms of incomplete
when the past his twenty yards overthrown in the NFL,
like like like that defender had something to do with
that incomplete pass and it had nothing to do with
the quarterback just throwing an awful football that was nowhere
near any of them. So that celebration of uh not
in my area. I would take a flop over that
(04:21):
one times. John Ramos. I'm just tired of all those
people out there saying it's it's not a good tournament.
I'm tired of all those guys who are out there. Hey,
you guys, keep the mouth shut. This is the greatest
treament guy. Yeah, that's That's one of John's favorite characters
mine too, on on social media, the guy who fights
with himself, the guy who hears voices and goes on
social media and goes and all you guys out there
(04:43):
telling me it's raining outside, you're an idiot. Listen. Okay,
it's your favorite. But I found Fake Argument Guy. I
was the one that discovered it. I I guarantee it
just for the simple fact you hear so many stupid
things out there. I'm trying to tell you people, le
Brown James is a good basketball player. What is wrong
(05:04):
with you? Like? Who are like that? Oh? My goodness,
it's It's wonderful. It's an amazing, amazing character. Fake Argument
Guy one of my favorites. You'll fe'll find out there.
He'll be out here this NBA offseason. You're nuts If
you don't want to add Kawai Leonard, you know, well, yeah,
for the right price, Okay, Well, speaking of Kawai Leonard,
maybe it wouldn't be nuts if you if you didn't
ad Kwhile Leonard. Because we're trying to figure out who
(05:26):
exactly Kawai Leonard is. That seems to be a bigger
question because we have no idea who Kauai Leonard is.
Because we thought Kawai Leonard was this guy that was
a member of the San Antonio Spurs that was very,
very soft spoken, ended up being a great teammate and
became a superstar in the NBA based purely on his
talents and his and his modest attitude. Now, when we
(05:50):
see Kawai Leonard demanding a trade out of San Antonio,
having his representatives change and now having family members represent
him and telling him that he he should be out
of San Antonio and preferably in Los Angeles, the Kawhi
Leonard that we thought was Kawhi Leonard for the early
part of his career may not be the Kawhi Leonard
that we thought he was. And Jonas this brings up
(06:12):
a lot of questions as Kauai Leonard now could be
being shot by the San Antonio Spurs or at least
teams are looking into acquiring him, and if you're looking
into acquiring Kawhi Leonard, I don't know who you're going
to acquire if you're an NBA team, if you are
the Lakers, if you are the Celtics, if you are
the seventies sixers. I think there is a big question
(06:34):
now of actually who Kauai Leonard is and what type
of player you would get in acquiring him. We're so
fixated on the move and where he goes that we're
not really paying attention to a couple of problematic things
going on with Kawhi Leonard Um. First of all, he
appears to be a little diva ish in this whole scenario,
got his feelings. Hurt Um didn't like teammates calling him out.
(06:58):
I understand that to a certain then, But you want
to go to a big market, and you want to
go to l A and it's a much different media
market than it is. They're not gonna grind you down
like they would in New York, but they are going
to ask a lot more questions and ask a lot
more of you. So san Antonio kind of played into
his personality, so we thought in that regard. So it's
(07:19):
a little problematic that all of a sudden. This guy
just can't coexist with an organization that's been able to
coexist with world champions for the past fifteen to twenty years.
That's problematic area number one. Problematic area number two is
this injury, because there's it's going one of two ways.
Either he's really injured and he's bothered that people were
(07:44):
thinking that he wasn't really injured. So then we've got
a oh, well, maybe this is a more serious injury
than we realize, and if we've got to manage this
moving forward, maybe this changes our expectations over what he
is as a player. And then if he's not really injured,
and this was a ploy to get out of San Antonio,
the diva aspect of sparks up again, like this isn't
a man. This is a rarity to get a guy
(08:06):
like this available at this time and you can land him.
Oh my god, no flaws, nothing nothing wrong here, no
issues whatsoever. We've got to get him at all costs. No, No,
there are problem areas here with Kawhi Leonard. I think
everybody's focused on the move and the destination instead of
what's coming along with the move. The chronic nature of
that hamstring and quad that he's that he's dealing with.
(08:27):
Is that's the most concerning to me, Jonas. Usually it
would be attitude. Usually it would be what kind of
guy we are getting? But now if you are going
to acquire him, the the the possibility of it being
damaged goods is something that that that you really you
can't do anything with. You can maybe put up with
(08:48):
his attitude, you can maybe put up with a diva
aspect of it. But in trade value as well, if
you're looking at an injured player and you then want
to give him a max contract, he may have a
bad attitude for five years and you just end up
putting up with it. But if he's got a chronic
injury to that quad for five years, it will get
(09:09):
worse and worse. So your investment less is less and less.
I mean, there are a teammates that haven't gotten along
in the NBA forever. So if you bring Kawhi Leonard
into the attitude isn't there that's maybe something you can
work with, the the injury of the chronic nature. And
we had Brian Geltzeller on earlier this week saying that
you know it's a it's a chronic injury. It's got
(09:30):
to be managed properly. Yeah. Yeah, like to to deal
with something like that is the biggest issue for me.
And if you're the Los Angeles Lakers who have been
tied to Kawai Leonard, I think a year ago it's
a no brainer that you take Kawai Leonard over Paul
George as as a player. And now with the with
the the injury, with the attitude that you mentioned, I'm
(09:51):
not sure that that gap between the two. If you're
a Lakers fan is as wide as it once was.
You almost I would feel would rather have Paul George
for the simple fact if we know that he loves
southern California and there's no injury risk to it. With
Kauai comes the risk, and now Paul George almost seems
like the safe bet if you're the Lakers to land here,
(10:13):
and let me tell you this, you want to talk
about who's bounced back from an injury. If there was
anybody that could question whether or not he could still
play and and continue his NBA career, it's the guy
whose leg almost fell off during the summer when he
was playing in in a U S Olympic basketball team game,
his his leg snapped. That guy figured it out mentally,
fought through it. And that's the biggest thing of all, Like, mentally,
(10:34):
do you ever trust it again? You talk to athletes,
they'll tell you it's not so much the injury. The
recovery is frustrating. The rehabit is frustrating. It's when you
get back out there, do you trust it? That's gonna
be what Gordon Hayward is gonna have to deal with
with in Boston. I remember a year ago, Chris Mannix
was on the network here at Fox Sports Radio, and
Chris Mannix, who has a show here every Sunday with
(10:55):
Karen Butler, was on with Colin Cowherd. He was the
only guy who was talking about you know, everyone's thinking
Boston's got this and Boston's got that. He's all, you know,
there's something about that Isaiah Thomas hip injury that nobody's discussing.
He's like, I'm here and you know, I've heard some
bad things. And he was close to the Boston organization
(11:15):
that wasn't really talked about until later in the off
season when a move was made and then you saw
that it was problematic and he decided to have surgery
and get it looked at. This is the same thing. Like,
all we're focusing on is the move. We're not really
focusing on the injury. If the injury was so bad
that he couldn't play at all when they desperately needed
(11:35):
him in the postseason a year ago, then that's a
problem that should be taken into account. And if he
wasn't all that injured and he just didn't want to play,
then that's a problem that should be taken into account.
And nobody's focusing on that. They're just focusing, Oh, we
gotta have Kauai. How do you notice that damaged goods? Yeah,
I think it's a huge question. And if you're the Lakers,
you know there's a lot of stuck when when there
(11:57):
are trade deadlines or if if a player is gonna
be released, Why would a team actually trade a pick
for a player when you could just sign him. Sometimes
it's just to to get ahead of another team if
they're going to clear waivers and baseball this happens a lot.
If they're like, oh, they're gonna relate release him, why
would you put a claim in well, maybe to to
prevent him from going somewhere else also a cheap draft
(12:18):
pick for a trade at least gets him in your
the player in your building. If you're the Lakers and
you're trying to figure out what the the situation is
with Kawai Leonard and trying to figure out, Okay, is
it worth making a trade with San Antonio if he's
got this injury, if he's got this attitude, if he's
going to be a free agent and signed with us anyway,
(12:38):
you've got that question if you're the Lakers. The reality
is Jonas, when you look at who the Lakers are
thinking of bringing in, You've got Lebron, James, Kawhi Leonard,
Paul George already, of Kyle Kuzman, brandon Ingram. They can
afford to trade one of those guys. Otherwise it's gonna
be an entire team of threes and fours. You're just
gonna have a bunch of small forwards who can play
a bunch of different positions. So the Lakers at least
could be wid the Lakers at least five auto porters.
(13:02):
That's essentially what it would be. You can, at least
if you wanted to take that risk. If you're looking
at the makeup of your team. The Lakers have an
abundance of riches at that position. If you were to
bring in say Lebron or Paul Georgia quiet where you
could give up a brandon Ingram, Kyle Kuzma, Dan Buyer,
Jonas Knox, and for Doug Gottlieb Here on Fox Sports Radio.

(14:26):
deadline comes up on Friday. That in a whole bunch
more right now with a good front from USA Today
covering the NBA. Sam Ama a, Sam, thanks so much
for coming on. Sam. Hey, yeah, yeah, we got you there.
We're we are good to go. Glad to have you
with us. And we were just talking at the start
of the show about Kauai Leonard and who Kauai Leonard
(14:50):
really is. Who is the Kauai Leonard that you know?
And has it changed over the last year with the
situation going on with the Spurs interest in question? Um,
I can't pretend to know the answer right now. I
mean the guy who to a degree I've gotten to
know and covering him and to bear you bear in mind,
(15:11):
I did do some stuff with him right in the beginning.
I actually had a trip to Vegas when I was
at Sports Illustrated where I sat in on a workout
with Kauai as he got ready for the draft, and
you know, had a meal with him, And that was
the beginning of my dealings with Kauai. And he was
as quiet back then as he is now. So you
always hear that adjective, you know, attached to him. I
(15:34):
don't know that he's changed from the standpoint of how
he's wired. The guy is an incredible worker and incredible talent.
I think right now you know what is concerning two people,
but the Spurs certainly, and then curious to people all
around the league is just the degree to which people
around him are guiding his directions, guiding his motives. You know,
(15:58):
his uncle certainly is out spoken, and so I think
who Kauai is unfortunately right now seems to be lost
in the whole equation. Is this injury that seems to
be the beginning of sort of the fallout between the
Spurs and Kauai Leonard? Is it maybe more problematic than
a lot of us realize. Um, I don't think we
(16:19):
have clarity on that. I mean, anytime you're talking about
seventy three games missed in the regular season, the entire
first round, and listen when they played the Warriors. You know,
first column I wrote of the whole playoffs was whereas
Kauai he couldn't even come and sit on the bench,
And it was, you know, certainly an indication of the
state of the relationship between him and the team. Uh,
(16:41):
going forward, you've got, you know, a health situation where
the concern certainly is that there's a degenitor of dejenitor
of can you say that words are to the injury
that would cause me some concern about the GM. But
you know, that combined with the personality question, I think
(17:03):
is why these teams that are in the running for him.
I think A're gonna have a heck of a ton
figuring out, you know, to what degree are they willing
to chase him when they're willing to give up? You know,
I don't envy some of them involved right now. Sammy

What did you make of Magic Johnson's comments yesterday? First
(17:24):
of all saying I'm Magic Johnson, I face Larry Bird
that that's pressure and whatnot, but also saying if I
don't get something done in the next two years, I
will step down. What did you make of of the
now president of the Lakers saying that. Honestly, guys, I
thought it was strange and I didn't love it when
it comes to the optics. And the reason why is
(17:48):
because I feel like the days of those types of
proclamations for the Lakers should be over. I understood it
when Jim Bust did it because he was under such
scrutiny and immense pressure that it sent a message that
he was willing to, you know, prioritize the organization over
himself at a certain point and not just fight scratching
(18:10):
claw to hold onto the job even if he wasn't performing.
I think if I was Lebron or Paul George or
even Kuai, I wouldn't love the message that magic sent
because it it doesn't make me feel like you're you're
in it for the long haul. Because you don't see
pat Riley coming out and saying, well, we've had a
couple of rough summers, maybe I need to step down.
(18:30):
It doesn't really exude confidence. This this job is about
a whole lot more than convincing superstars to come to town,
you know. And and the for me, the irony was
I had just talked to Jennie Buss at the NBA
Awards in Santa Monica, and she gave a glowing endorsement
of Magic and Rob Polinka when it comes to the draft,
(18:52):
when it comes to some of the trades they've made,
that showed an ability to understand the collective bargaining agreement
and maneuver and you know, of the context of the league.
So I mean, that's how you build the organization over
the long haul. I felt like it was a little
gimmicky of Magic tech, like if you can't waive the
Magic loan, so to speak, that he's going to step aside.
(19:13):
Sam a McK of USA today with us here on
Fox Sports Radio, Dan Buyer, Jonas Knocks, and for Doug Gottlieb.
We were talking about this a little bit yesterday that
this time around, this decision feels different for Lebron James
because the first time it was what can I do
to overtake the aging Boston Celtics, And the second time
he was going to a many already made Kyrie Irving
(19:35):
in a different situation in Cleveland, the Golden State Warriors
didn't exist in what they currently are either of those times.
So to me, it kind of makes his decision maybe
more difficult than I think people realized when initially it
was happening. And that's why if you were a CALV fan,
are you starting to gain a little bit of optimism
as this goes on? Maybe a little bit. And I'll
(19:59):
only stop there because I just I can't help but
feel like, you know, there is the relationship with Calv's owner,
Dan Gilbert is potentially just the real obstacle here and
the kind of thing that you know, it felt when
I was covering the finals, like this was the end
for Lebron in Cleveland. Then listen, I read the piece
(20:22):
that Dave mcspn road and it was good, you know,
and and kind of talking about then the relationship with
the owner is the one thing that I just feel
like there's such a divide there and you know, I
don't know if they can get over that. Now. Listen,
you look at the alternatives, right and you say, man
(20:43):
is and this is where I'm at today. Is Lebron
gonna do Lakerland By himself. I mean that just seems like,
you know, the mission impossible, if ever there was one
in the NBA when you're talking about playing teams like
the Rockets and the Warriors and and the Spurs when
they're at their best, you know. So that that's why
right now I don't know what's direct and this thing
is going to go Sam just Dan Gilbert want to
(21:03):
move on from Lebron um. I think that's a possibility.
He would never admit it. People around him call you
crazy if you say that, But then you do hear
runlings that you know. The way it's been expressed to me,
and kind of that assertion is that you know that
he's ready to get a franchise back. I think it's
a It's a really interesting thing you can analyze just
(21:26):
from a relationship human standpoint, because you know so much
positive comes with having Lebron on your team and having
him be part of your organization. But but Dan, you know,
everybody's got an ego, period, but owners in general, and
these are wildly successful men who are not used to
feeling marginalized in the slightest bid And and if Dan
(21:47):
can't get over the fact that Lebron represents pass basketball
a whole lot more than Dan Gilbert does. Then who knows,
maybe in his his private moments, you know, he says, yeah,
let me just have my team back and do you know,
and get back to where the players worked for me
and and I pulled the strings and I'm not getting
second guests all the time. Sam A mc usa today
NBA Insider with us here on Fox Sports Radio. All right,
(22:07):
nobody's listening. Just between just between us here, it's selfishly,
how much do you want Lebron to make his decision
before Fourth of July? I'm kind of over it. I
was joking with my wife earlier today, like we we
have a neighborhood barbecue set up every year on the
fourth of July, and we live at the end of
(22:28):
a court. So to paint the picture for you, what
happens is all the neighbors are in the street doing
fireworks and burgers and having beverages. And I'll pop out
for a few minutes here and there. But at my
office is in the front of the house, so I
sit there like a puppy dog that that you know
that he caldn't go play and uh, and I'm on
the phone doing my thing. Mean, obviously Durant made his
(22:48):
choice on the fourth. I forget if Dwight Howard did
it on the fourth as well. There's we've had a few,
didn't Gordon Haywayward. Yeah, Gordon Harward did. Yeah, Gordon Harward did. Um.
So yeah, I just don't do the Gordon Hayward thing where,
you know, if somebody scoops it, if we break it,
con affirm it and let us move on. Don't do
this thing where you say it's not accurate and then
(23:08):
six hours later you say it's accurate. Uh, let's let's
have it be a clean cut so we can at
least get a burger or a hot dug in. Oh.
I forgot all about that because the Utah was like
see and then yeah, yeah later it's you could do
a whole show on that. But what I what's so
interesting about that and how much media has changed, is
(23:29):
I mean, these players get paid to tell their stories.
You know, it's not a lot of money, but they
there is a financial transaction taking place, and so it
does not behoove them to help us do our jobs.
They're trying to beat us at what we do. So
you know, it gets pretty uh, convoluted in that regard. Well,
Maverick Carter apparently was hinting towards the Wall to the
Wall Street Journal that Lebron's decision is gonna appear on
(23:51):
The Uninterrupted. So at least at least it's funny because
I've I mean, I've enquired about that. I'm gonna handicap
and it doesn't really matter if I'm wrong. I would
be surprised if that were the case. I'll just say
that much. I think that, you know, certainly there's a
discussion already, you know, taking place about how they're gonna
do it. But but as far as the odds go,
I'm gonna put the Uninterrupted down the list a little bit.
(24:13):
You know. I don't know how he tells it, but
I think I think Lebron might not like the optics
of having the message come out on a platform where
he has a business relationship. I think he knows that
it it almost cheapens it a little bit. We'll see
if I'm right or not. Though. Okay, well, let's wrap
up Jonas with Sam with this, because for full disclosure,
we had a draft earlier this week here on the
(24:35):
show on how Lebron was going to reveal. So I'm
gonna just give you the five options. Sam, you can
pick the most likely we have written word, Instagram, radio, TV,
or Twitter. Of those five, where would you say Lebron
most likely or how he most likely makes his decision.
I'm gonna go to can I kind of pick a
new option? Oh? Sure? Option F. Option F. I'm gonna say,
(25:00):
don't forget about the swoosh. That's all I'll say. Okay,
I think I think maybe maybe in concert with the
old shoe company that he's had such a long relationship with.
That's I heard. Sam. Let me ask you this last one.
I promise you and we lied to you twice already
and said last one is alright, alright, last one if
Lebron hit you up, got in your d M S,
(25:22):
contacted you in some way and said I want you
to break it. But here's the stipulation. I need you
to dress up like the Statue of Liberty and you can.
You can do it on one of those rotating signs
outside a car dealership. Would you do it? That's a
hard No? Come on, Sam, damn, Sam, ay make USA today.

both advance to the Round of sixteen right now, Switzerland
with a one all tie right now, with Costa Rica.
They're in the seventy five minute of play against Switzerland,
just needs a draw in order to advance. Costa Rica
had already been eliminated. Brazil only needs a draw to advance,
(26:46):
and Thiago Silva's header has just given brazila two nil
lead over Serbia, so they're in good shape there. In
the seventy six minute of play earlier today, Sweden one
Group F they advanced to the round of sixteen with
their three nails shut out of Mexico and with Germany's
two nil lost to South Korea. Mexico also advanced to
the knockout round, and for the first time in their history,
(27:07):
defending champ Germany does not advance out of the group round.
In fact, they finished last in the Group one final
on the Diamonds. Adam Duval's two runs single the difference
for the Reds. They beat the Brave six to five.
Royals and Brewers scoreless. Right now top six in Milwaukee,
Blue Jay's Lee, the Astros five three, top of the
fifth in Houston, and in NBA news, the Lakers have
extended a qualifying offer to Julius Randall, so he is
(27:30):
a restricted free agent. Thank you very much dab. This

(27:54):
Interesting comments coming out of Houston. Nothing to do with
James Harden or Chris Paul or the Houston Rockets or
the NBA for that man her, but the Houston Texans.
Jonas As quarterback Deshaun Watson, coming off of an a
c l tare second of his career, is trying to
come back and taking part with the Houston Texans and
hopefully training camp and being ready for Week one. Well.
(28:15):
Watson was at a football camp in Virginia and told
the Daily Press injuries are going to happen. I've dealt
with this injury before as a freshman, and I played
the same way I did the year before. There's no
point in switching up the routine. I'll stay prepared and
stay fit throughout the year, not just in the off season,
but throughout the season. I do what I do. I
don't want to change anything that got me here. End
(28:36):
quote that from Deshaun Watson, the Houston Texans quarterback who
again coming back from his second torn A c L
in his career. So let me get this straight. So
he tore the A c L once and um, then
he tore an a c L again. Yes, So wouldn't
that lead you to believe that maybe whatever you did
(28:56):
after your tour the first time probably not the best
move because it would have led to another A c
L injury. And I get it that fluke occurrences happened
in sports, and you can't play with fear. And I
understand all that. Just look around, all right, Like look
around the NFL, Like who's still playing Brady Breeze and
(29:16):
still playing at a high level this late in their career.
They're doing it because they have figured out how the
game has changed. It's adapt or diet. We talked about Breeze,
how Breeze. You mentioned the names Devree Henderson, Marquis Colston.
He would throw the ball downfield all the time. He
learned that I've got to adapt to what today's NFL is,
and in order to play for as long as I
(29:37):
want and extend my career, I've got to play smarter.
And he does same with Brady, same with Rogers. Moving forward,
you would think after dealing with his injuries, so why
would you continue to do it if you've already been
injured twice? Aaron Rodgers is very good at when he scrambles,
getting out of bounds, not taking a big hit. You
know who else is usually pretty good at it, Russell
(29:59):
Wilson of the Seahawks. Both guys who can especially Wilson
getting out of the pocket, but also understanding that I
have to get out of bounds now. Wilson a couple
of years ago ended up being sacked and the defender
from the forty Diners fell on his knee and it
was something that hamp hampered him throughout the entire season.
So but they get they get it, jonas they they
(30:19):
understand it. And looking at what we've had last year
in the NFL alongside the Shawn Watson, I'm gonna bring
up two examples, one that that Watson should follow, one
that he showed in Carson Wentz the Eagles had been
yelling at Carson Wentz to stop doing what you're doing
because you are going to get hurt. It worked out
for them in the end that they still won the
Super Bowl, but they were warning their quarterback, you can't
(30:41):
be going out in doing all of this running because
you are going to be susceptible the injury. And what happens,
he ends up tearing ligaments in his knee. Cam Newton
completely different situation. Like I look at Cam Newton as
a guy. You have to have him run because that's
what makes Cam Newton Cam Newton and knock on Wood.
Cam Newton hasn't dealt with any torn A c l
(31:02):
s in his career and hopefully he won't have to.
But you can't just make Cam Newton a drop back
passer and have him throw around. That's not what Cam
Newton is. That's not what makes the Panthers go. Deshaun
Watson is completely different. Entering his second year now coming
off of two A c l s. You can't just
have him run around the field and take kids. And
Deshaun Watson's got to realize that that he can't continue
(31:24):
to do this otherwise you won't last that long in
the NFL. Cam Newton is a one off type situation,
and not that because I think I look at Cam
Newton like I look at Russell Westbrook. They are different
than anybody who's done it. Like, there's nobody like Russell Westbrook. Okay,
there you can make comparisons to a lot of people.
There's nobody that has the explosion of Russell Westbrook that
(31:46):
plays as violent as as he does in that position.
But he can't shoot, and it's a three point dominant
league and he shoots like in from three. Cam Newton,
physically dominant, does it differently than everybody else. Has had
a ton of success, has been to a super Bowl.
But he's not accurate. It's not accurate, as Rex Ryan
(32:07):
would say. And so you look at Cam Newton and
you just realize this is what he is. And I
think at some point over the last year or so,
have you noticed that when Cam Newton gets sacked now
or gets tackled, taken a little bit longer to get up,
not as not as ready to engage right afterwards. I
think that he has acknowledged that this is just gonna
be the way that I play. I may not play
(32:29):
till i'm thirty three. Maybe it's thirty two and I'm
out the door. But you just sort of accept it
for what it is. Deshaun Watson, You're not Bill like
Cam Newton. You can't play that many years. This is
avoidable to have information and examples around you of what
success looks like if you play it the right way
and still not even follow any of that and just
(32:50):
say no, I'm gonna do it my own way like this,
that's just dumb. Like in any walk of life, like
that's dumb, like if you look at McDonald's and go
they have a drive through, we're not doing that, all right, Well,
you'll be closed in eight months, So I guess you
win because you were stubborn. This is just dumb. Yeah,
I don't understand like you can. You can still try
to be Deshaun Watson with your legs. You just have
(33:11):
to be smart about it. You've got to understand the
risks of of when to run and how to run,
and when you do run to get out of bounds.
Those are the things that Deshaun Watson's got to look
at and and he obviously isn't. I've always said I
would rather just have ten years of Cam Newton being
Cam Newton than fifteen years of Cam Newton and half
of them not being. I don't need him overthrowing, you know,
(33:31):
Devin Funcius and and Greg Olson. I don't need that.
I need Cam Newton to run for a first down
if needed, or to be able to to dump it
off to Christian McCaffrey, or to to take a quarterback
drawn to the ends, whatever the cases. That's what I
need from Cam Newton. Two different situations of Deshaun Watson's
got to realize it. Dan Buyer, Jonas Knox in for

What do you say, guys? We play a game time?
This is game time on the Doug Gottlieb Show, Dev
Carson joins us on this Wednesday. Hello, Hello, Dan, Hello Jonas.
What have we What have we got today? Real news?
(34:56):
Fake news? All right, so we get to determine what's
real and what's that's right when a my favorite games.
By the way, hey, Magic Johnson will step down as
the Lakers president of basketball Operations if the team doesn't
land a marquee free agent this summer. Um, okay, I
think that there's uh, I'll say fake. Yeah, I'm gonna
go fake as well. It's fake news on a technicality.
(35:26):
He said he would give himself this summer and next summer, alright.
Staying with the NBA, Kyrie Irving has said that while
James Harden was the people's m v P for this
past season, the NBA m v P was actually Lebron
James h m your thoughts on this, I'll go because
(35:50):
it's it doesn't seem like it. So I'm gonna outthink
myself here. I'm gonna say that's real news. I'll go
Jonas on that and say real news. How about that?
It is real? He actually told New York's Hot nineties
seven he was happy for James Harden to win the award,
but he said Lebron quote, I mean, if we're talking
strictly based on stats, he checks every box. End quote,
(36:12):
and then he went on to call Lebron incredible. I
tell you what I'll say. This read into him being
on Hot ninety seven in New York. He wants to
be a nick that that is Kyrie Irving. You don't
see him on one or two jams in Boston saying
this stuff. He is on Hot ninety seven in New York.
Is there one or two jams in Boston? You are
(36:34):
fake news? You are fakes? One point nine the monster,
the chowdout. Moving on to the NFL, the Minnesota Vikings
have agreed to a contract extension with Defense of Tackle
Danielle Hunter, which includes fifty million dollars in guaranteed money.
(36:56):
I'm gonna go fake news. It's a guy, can't be
Danielle's fake fogus. Jeez man, that that fifty million is
a lot. So I'm gonna say fake news because of that. Yes,
it is actually alright, I've gotten Danielle a few times.
That's more than a few in my life. That's the
(37:19):
first time an NFL player had the same first name
as one of my exes, a boy, Daniel Manning. By
the way, Oh yeah, that's true. Second time then sorry, yeah,
Abelean Christian Baseball. Last night, Yankees pitcher Luis Savarino earned
his Major League Baseball leading four win of the season. Okay,
there's no way he's got fourteen wins already, So I'm
(37:41):
gonna say fake news. I'll go with Dan, I'll go
fake news. You are, yes, yes, perfect, it does league
the league. But it is only his twelve win. Yes, indeed,
the Yankees are I'll tell you what. Like when you
look at their lineup and then you look at their rotation,
you don't have to knock a sunny Gray has been
or whatever, but Severino has been amazing. If if they
(38:02):
just do something and if they add someone before the
trade deadline, oh the Yankees will be the much hated
team once. I think. Actually they're already back to being hated.
It's just good to see the Yankees finally getting a break. Yeah,
Yankee fans have had it so hard for so long.
You see, they're finally got some towent in that town.
It's good to see. We finally have the Brewers game up.
Wait we go, but we've got We've got just so
(38:23):
you know we got we We do have Red's post
game on one of our team and on the other
TV it's Far and Away with Tom Cruise and Nicole Caine. Brazil,
by the way, is on they have just a one
to nil. They have defeated Serbia to nil. But moving
on to the NFL. Tom Brady will be the highest
rated quarterback in the upcoming Madden video game, coming in
at a rating of overall. Gee, I will say fake news.
(38:53):
I'm gonna go real and this will this will separate
us on our perfect game. How about a rating of
man mad I I don't buy it every year. I
buy it every other year because I don't think that
there's enough improvements each year too to make it worth
(39:16):
purchasing the new games. So I do it like every
two years. Now, what is where does he have the
non perfect score? It's got to be in speed right,
speed mobile. He's an eight and speed yeah and and
hands Come on, Super Bowl humor. They haven't been over
it yet, Dan, geez, he cannot throw the ball and
(39:37):
catch the ball at the same time. Your thoughts and
moving on to tennis, Serena Williams will make her turn
to her return to Wimbledon this year. She will be
seated at number twenty five for the tournament. That for
your real news, no doubt about it. Give me the
real deal with Serena real news. They're yes today, all right,
(40:03):
and she should dominate hopefully. She was back in full
form and not being hampered by any lingering injuries. She
was plus four fifty as if at at to win Wimbledon.
I know it's a tournament. Who in the world else
would you pick? Right, I don't know who else is there?
Seriously like, yeah, I don't know. She could have been
ranked seed eight. I am so bothered that we just
(40:24):
now discovered that deb Carson can do a Giselle. You
know how many you know how many bits this creates?
All right, this is game time on the Duck Gottlieb Show.
If somebody could do a Tom Brady and a Belichick.
We could have an entire we could just lie to
people and say we've got Giselle with this year in
the studio. It wouldn't be the first time that we've
(40:46):
lied to the audience with something. Uh is Lebron James
lying to us. We'll tell you next time Fox Sports
Radio and John Ramos is here as in ninety minutes,
you'll get another edition of the John Almost Show. Jonah said,
I think it's gonna have a little Latin flavor, not
only with Mexico's wins today of the World Cup, but
(41:08):
with Robert Gara as the executive producer and John Ramos
in his Mexican heritage. I think it's gonna have a
Latin feel. Maybe a Minuto playing at the U, you know,
as the musical game. I can't wait, man, Mexico versus Brazil.
First of all, Brazil by a thousand, All right, that
that's the first thing. Secondly, what a good time man?
(41:32):
At seven am on Monday? I think the game starts
at seven am. If I'm not mistaken, it might be
seven am Pacific time out here. I think you're right,
Oh man, that's gonna be a good time. I'm watching it.
Dan I might even have a meet you, Latta. You
will see it on Fox Sports one. That's when you
where you will see the match. The knockout stage starting
to fill out. Will know the round of sixteen. Bye
(41:54):
yeah by tomorrow afternoon by the way, Monday in Spanish
for John and Robert who are new uh new today.
Mexican culture is lunas Oh interesting? Any any more Mexican information,
you guys need to just hit it up here at
the Jonas knockses and in German and in German it's
montog But you don't have to worry about that since
they're not. Yes, they were knocked out on mit Folk
(42:17):
that he still got Ramstein though, one of my all
time favorite band. Oh there you go. There's something going
for the Germans. As they aren't moving on, will Lebron
James be moving on from Cleveland. It's a decision that
we expect to find out sooner rather than later from
everything that we have heard about reports on Lebron's decision. Now,
if you aren't familiar with what Lebron needs to do
(42:38):
or what he has to do, he has until Friday
to opt out or opt in with his contract with
the Cavaliers. So if he doesn't opt in or opt out,
will find out by Friday, we'll find his decision there.
Opting in makes it very likely that he would return
to the Cleveland Cavaliers. I don't know how many teams
could facilitate a trade, but that would be an option.
(42:59):
If he opts out, then it's a free for all
for Lebron James. But it may not be as much
of a free for all as Lebron Jonas for the
simple fact of the reports and that he doesn't want
a circus. He doesn't want a recruiting circus to go
after him. And just just with that piece of knowledge
and now what we've heard over the last forty eight hours,
(43:22):
I just I just get the sense that it is
a two team race. Vegas has basically had it a
one team race, but the Cavaliers would be the other
team in the race with the Lakers. It just seems
that Lebron's decision is coming down to either the Cleveland
Cavaliers or the Los Angeles Lakers. Are you buying me,
I don't want a circus thing. Are you buying it completely?
Because I am buying it because I don't think that
(43:45):
he wants the other options, Like, I think he liked
being entertained the first time around, meeting with the Knicks,
meeting with the Heat, having the Calves contingent, But I
don't think that he is genuine in those other spots. Now.
I don't think it's genuine about Boston or Philadelphia or
even Houston for that matter. So I don't think he
(44:06):
wants to go through that circus. So I think it's
genuine that. Yeah, he doesn't want the circus because he's
either going to play for the Calves and he's gonna
play for the Lakers. Okay, if your lovely wife Lisa
for birthday fell on a Friday, and he said, all right,
so what are you thinking for your birthday? And she said,
I don't want anything big. I'm just not you know,
I don't I don't really want all that. And he said,
all right, cool. And at about six thirty you take
(44:29):
off the blindfold and you guys are at would Ranch
eating rib tips. How do you think that's gonna go over? Dan?
That was That was birthday, to be honest. That was
burn ends Friday. But they don't have him anymore. But
that was really good. It was a It was a
high point. Yeah, I know what you mean. Like it's like,
don't get me anything this year, don't get me anything. No,
we're good. And then you're like, you didn't give me anything.
(44:50):
He is like, that's that's been him. I mean, he's
all about making a big production, doing things big. Now,
it wasn't there. There was some sort of a report
that it was coinciding with the release of Space Jam.
Is that is that what we've heard trailer for Space
Jam two is going to be released this summer and
(45:12):
maybe in the near future in July. And that's where
the where there was a report that the decision was
going to coincide then with the release of that trailer
of the new Space Jam movie. You know what, now,
I just thought of something. Wow, all right, I want
this on record. I thought of it first. Alright, market down,
John Robert while you guys are take a break down
(45:33):
with John Ramos. You need something marked down right now.
By the way, Roberts celebrating Mexico's three nothing loss. Uh,
he is halfway through an entire bottle of saza, so
we can go ahead and uh and let's just let's
calm it down in the studio there. But I want
to everybody know that I came up with this first,
since this is all around the Space Jam two trailer, which,
(45:53):
by the way, just let me preface this not a
shot in hell I'm seeing that movie. But I think
he is going to make his decision in the trailer.
I think it's going to be part of the trailer
where he's in a suit and tie and some cartoon
character like rips it off him and there he isn't
like a Lakers jersey. I think it's going to be
(46:14):
part of the trailer. It's never been done before. It
incorporates the movie and people can say, oh my god,
how were they able to keep it a secret? Uh,
this was part of the movie. It didn't get out
by anybody. I think that's how he's gonna do it.
That is mark that down in the trailer is how
Lebron James reveals where he is going to play. Would
they have but they have I want to say they
(46:34):
have copy. Maybe it would just be like a purple
and gold maybe something like that. Yeah, I'm not sure
if they could use the Lakers. I don't know if
they can or can't, but that could be like the
you know, like like the jersey you would buy at
a guest station, Like that's like the type of jersey
that maybe he could wear, which would signify where the
Lakers doesn't go across the chest, it goes down vertically
on the sides, you know what I mean, Like yet
(46:55):
doesn't ross for ten bucks. I love I love the
city the where it just says it's the best, Like
because the Lakers have Los Angeles, you know, spread across
their chest out all of their jerseys. That's the best
part about going If you go to a Latino market
(47:16):
out here in southern California, if you go to a
liquor store out here, you can guarantee two items that
you'll see up at the front when you go to
pay for things. One of them is going to be
a hat that just says Los Angeles, and the other
is gonna be one of those pocket combs that goes
around your middle finger that you comb your hair with
in the back. I'm telling you every single liquor store
you'll find one of those. Okay, all right, you can
(47:39):
go to the one down the street and then guarantee
they probably have something like that. Now, are they gonna
be able to bring Cedric Cebalis's Jersey out of retirement
to give to Lebron. If it's a twenty three, that
is another good question. I'm not sure they'll have to
take it down from the raft the rafters of Staples Center,
and maybe he'll give him his blessing, or he could
just do the forty five like Michael Jordan's. You know what.
(48:00):
That's actually a very interesting angle as well, because Lebron
did switch numbers when he went to the Miami Heat,
ended up wearing six and then came back to Cleveland.
If he were to go to the Lakers, would it
be a different number the numbers that are available. Maybe
not as many as other teams because the Lakers retire
so many players. But there are other decisions Lebron is
gonna have to make in Los Angeles, if you or
(48:21):
if he wants to go to the Lakers. And now
there's a report. As we talked about this, this whole
process being drawn out and how and when will Lebron
make his decision, there are there are rumblings and reports
and ESPN is saying that Lebron won't make his decision until, say,
to go to the Lakers, until like another piece would
(48:42):
be there. So the Lakers would have to acquire Kawhi
Leonard in a trade, or signed Paul George, or agreed
to terms with Paul George before Lebron would commit the
signing with the Lakers, because he doesn't want to be
the first one say in Los Angeles in the Lakers
uniform him that he has this much power. There's never
been another player in the NBA and the history of
(49:04):
the league that has had as much power as Lebron James.
He team's gravel over him, and I get it, he's
a great player, but this is now gonna be three
times where he has made organizations do something that they
weren't even thinking was even possible in order to get
his services, Like this is now gonna be three times
(49:24):
to where even when he's not with that team, he
makes demands in order to go to that team, almost
like ultimatums, and every time they've caved to him. He's
now telling them if he wants this news to come out,
if we're just putting all the reports together and this
is what we've got, he wants to make his decision
before July four, which is a week from today. If
(49:44):
that's the case, you're telling me the Lakers have to
facilitate a trade for Kauai Leonard with a team that
doesn't want to trade Kawhi Leonard to them, and take
on other moves within the next week, or else They're
not gonna get Lebron James. It's crazy, like, how is
it even possible? Well, it's the only way it would
(50:04):
be possible. I think is then that would be the
Paul George option, where they would say, Okay, if we can't,
we can't strike a deal. And I think that San
Antonio should take their time. I mean as is is
they closed the door reportedly at a call from the
Lakers last week about Kawhi Leonard. I do think that
(50:24):
this team fair unfair if they if they are right
or wrong, and being the Spurs, I I do believe
that in their heart of hearts, they thought that they
could convince Kawaii stay. So now that they don't, they
have to change their m O for the last twenty years.
But so if your point is saying of, yeah, how
are you going to get a trade done with the
San Antonio Spurs in a week? I think that lends
to the Lakers feeling or or believing that they're going
(50:49):
to get Paul George and that Paul George would be first,
which is not out of the rebel possibility, considering we
felt Paul George was going to the Lakers for the
last couple of years, considering he also reported to just
hold the pacers, I'm going to the Lakers. So that's
so to that point, I I think that maybe that's
where the Lakers end up going instead of instead of
(51:11):
kau And maybe that does sort of say a little
bit more about Magic Johnson's comments yesterday when he brought
up the fact that I was in nine finals, I
don't feel pressure. And to me at the time, I said, yeah,
of course he doesn't feel pressure. What's the big deal.
I think you were more onto it than I was,
because now that you think about it, Magic Johnson isn't
(51:31):
exactly a guy who goes around and brags about what
he does. Um That's always been the thing about him.
He's never been one of these guys that goes I
owned this, and I owned twenty four hour Fitness, and
I own this Starbucks and I do this. It's always
been about what can I do to help my community,
What can I do here? How can I help this?
And then randomly, he comes out and says, I was
(51:51):
in nine finals. I don't feel any pressure, Like that's
that's odd behavior for a guy who's never shown or
exhibited that kind of behavior. And maybe it's because he
in fact does feel pressure that that he in fact
does feel like maybe this isn't going as smoothly as
I thought it was, So let me go ahead and
lay the groundwork for if it doesn't happen. Don't worry.
(52:13):
We've got two years to play with because every offseason
it keeps getting pushed back. This is the year for
the Lakers. Maybe it's next year. This is the year
for the Lakers. Yeah, maybe maybe we meant more like
next year. Maybe. Now It's like when you watch a guy,
you know, if you watch boxing, I know you're big
boxing U. If a guy gets hit and he smiles
(52:33):
and then shakes his head like, no, that didn't hurt,
you know that it hurt. Otherwise, why you acknowledge Magic
Johnson doing this is the equivalent to that, because he's
acknowledging that I do feel pressure. This is a little
bit more difficult than than what I've I thought it
was going to be. There would be you know when
Sam a mcjoyed this Earlier he talked about how he
was kind of taken off guard about Magic comments. But
(52:54):
realistically of running a basketball franchise, that is why Magic
Johnson is the president, is to bring these big names in.
You let your scouts and you let your GM do
they do all of the work on the scouting in
the draft. But realistically, like Magic Johnson is the trump card.
And for a team that hasn't one and doesn't seem
like they have a lot to lose, the Lakers do
have a lot to lose over these these next couple
(53:16):
of off seasons just because of of what the expectations
of their fans would be. I will say this about
Lebron James to just just wrap it up on his hand.
When you talked about how Lebron now has to face
the Warriors and he didn't have to face them in
his first two decisions, I think that this decision is
different than the other two for the simple fact of
(53:37):
he got backlash when he went to Miami and the
heat were burned when he went back to Cleveland. I'm
not sure Cleveland's got their title. Um. I think Cleveland
understands the situation. They'd love to have him back, but
I don't think it's gonna be as much you know,
angst towards him if Lebron goes to l A or heck,
even if he stays in Cleveland and all, it's almost
(53:59):
a win win situation because if he goes back to
Cleveland and the Lakers who say, all right, we'll just
get Lebron next year. So so his situation and making
that decision this time around is also different than the
first two situations because he's almost in a win win situation.

(55:06):
John Ramos as we are in for Doug today here
on Fox Sports Radio. Joining us now from the Boston
Globe talking Celtics, NBA, NFL, Patriots, all that and a
whole lot more. Good friend Jim McBride joining us here
on Fox Sports Radio. Hey Jim, have you Wednesday? How
are you great? How are you? We are doing well.
We've been talking a lot of NBA and what this offseason,
(55:28):
what could happen in the next seven to ten days
or so, so I want to start there with you.
It seems that for Lebron James, his choices down to
the Lakers and the Cavaliers Boston was brought up as
a possibility. How much of a possibility would it have
been for Lebron James to actually rejoin Kyrie Irving was
there ever a realistic thought that something like that could
(55:49):
happen in Boston. I don't think so. I think, you know,
people talked about it, and you know that the idea
was floated out there. But I think one of the
reasons you know, that Kyrie, you know, wanted to be
traded from Cleveland was to kind of separate himself from
from uh, from Lebron shadow. So I don't think that
it would have went over too well with Kyrie to
have Lebron here. Whether you know, whether they would have
(56:11):
had to make a choice would have been interesting, But
I don't think it ever got to a serious page
with Lebron coming here. Um. You know, people people like
to fantasize about it here in Boston, but I just
don't think that was ever gonna be a possibility if
they were gonna, you know, keep Kyrie happy. Uh, Jim,
what is And it's funny you bring up Kyrie Irving.
That was my next question for you is what's the
(56:32):
status of Kyrie Irving there in Boston? Is there is
a growing feeling there that maybe he isn't around after
this year? We know the Knicks have been rumored he
he wants to go to New York. He's the Knicks
are a favorite to land Kyrie Irving. All of that.
Could you see Danny Ainge make a move if he
gets the feeling that that Kyrie Irving isn't gonna be
around long term. Yeah? Absolutely with Danny. You know, he's
(56:53):
known around Boston as trader traders Danny. I think that
he if he got that feeling that he couldn't, you know,
lock up Kyrie long term. Uh, he would definitely make
a move because he's always thinking forward. You know. As
much as he likes to concentrate on the on the
the current edition of the team, he's he's a guy
that always looks forward and is always looking for another,
you know, for for a deal. This is a team
(57:13):
that made it to the you know, the Eastern Conference
finals last year and he blew it up and got Kyrie,
and you know, they were one game away from making
it to the finals. So if he sees an opportunity,
uh to better his club, he's going to do it.
And I don't think that there's anyone, you know, untradeable
when it comes to Danny. Jim McBride of the Boston
Globe joining us here on Fox Sports Radio, so even
(57:34):
Jason Tatum, after that great playoff run that he had,
Danny Inch still would be willing to deal him to
bring in a player like Kauai. Well, I think in
the in the right deal, I think you'd have to
talk about you know, ka I or Anthony Davis, but
you know, he he might be the one guy that
would that would be untouchable after how how brilliant he was,
not only during the regular season, but you know he
(57:55):
was probably one of the two or three best players
in the playoffs this year. Um, what what's another move
that could take Jim McBride wood this year? Boston Globe
but here on Fox Sports Radio, Dan Buyer, Jonas Knox
him for Doug Gottlieb. We know Marcus Smart is a
restricted free agent. What's a a a A big move
for that roster that you could see taking place and
maybe people aren't talking about right now. Well, I think that, uh,
(58:18):
you know that the Kawai news is something that people
are really kind of seizing on. It. Know that there
reports out there that that the Celtics had made an
offer for Kauai, but that the Spur is really one interested.
So I think the you know, the splashiest move they
can make would be Kauai or or Anthony Davis. But
I think you're you're risking blowing up a roster that's
(58:38):
you know, made us to the Eastern Conference finals with
without two of their best players in Kyrie and Gordon Haywards.
So I think that, you know, when it all shakes out,
I think they they stand pat and they see how
far they can go and when those two guys come
back and are healthy. Jim McBride at the Boston Globe
joining us here on Fox Sports Radio. He's Jonas Knox.
I'm Dan Buyer is working for Doug Gottlieb today. Is
(58:59):
this only an edelement situation with the Patriots? Any deja
vu from the flate Gate? Yeah? Kind of, you know,
especially if you know, if he loses this appeal, and
you know, there's been reports out there that he could
possibly take it to uh, you know, to a federal
court level, then it's then it's really starts to to
kind of feel like the flate Gate of of two
years ago all over again. And you know that, you know,
(59:21):
guys that cover the Patriots are are well and they're
well versed in covering court cases as well because of
that whole deflate case. Uh. And I don't think any
one of us really wants to go through that again.
But I think this is a very unique uh situation
because um, you know, we heard on Monday that that
Julian defended himself and had that hearing. But there is
a kind of a two pronged attack for his defense
(59:43):
where you know, they didn't know what the substance was. Uh.
And you know, in my mind, I still wonder how
you can suspend a guy when you can't identify what
the substance was. That if you don't know what it was,
how do you know it was illegal? And second of all,
he said there was you know, mishandling of the of
the sample. So that's two things his favor. When you've
got a strong case like that, I you know, I
(01:00:03):
have a feeling that that maybe this does get overturned.
I know that's pretty tough to do in the NFL,
but it's just a gut feeling. I don't have any
you know, inside information, but I have a feeling that
that that this could go his way. And I have
been feeling well, no, sooner rather than later, probably by
the end of this week, Jim McBride of the Boston
Globe with us here on Fox Sports Radio, Dan Buyer
Jonas knocks in for Doug Gottlieb. On a national level,
(01:00:26):
we made a big deal out of the friction between
Tom Brady and Bill Belichick and Gronk and the Malcolm
Butler's situation there Locally, were you guys as concerned about
it as maybe people made it out to be nationally?
What was the feeling there locally in Boston? Yeah, there
was some local guys that that felt the same way.
(01:00:47):
I never did, you know, I see them when they're
on the field together, and then there's constant communication and
and even talking to them separately. You know, Bill has
stated what a great relationship he has with Tom, and
even Tom at minicamp a couple of weeks ago reiterated
how much, you know, he loves Bill Belichick and they
talk all the time and they have a great relationship.
I think what it was is, you know, like in
(01:01:09):
any kind of business relationship or working relationship, you don't
always see eye to eye with the guy who's, you know,
standing next to you, but that doesn't mean you can't
find common ground and get the job done and I
think that's what these guys have always been able to do.
I'm sure they've had their disagreements in the meeting room
and you know, when they have their one on ones,
But you know, I think they they've always been able
(01:01:31):
to come together when um when when the whistle blows
for for lack of a better term, and get the
job done. I think that's that's kind of how most
of the local guys viewed it. Talking with the Boston
Globs Jim McBride here on Fox Sports Radio. Why was
we had heard reports that if the Patriots were looking
to trade Rob Gronkowski, if they dealt Gronk, Tom Brady
(01:01:53):
would retire Bob Kraft put an end to it. Is
that what happened? And if so, Jim, why was Gronk
the the the final straw? So to say, because we've
seen Belichick deal so many guys and and guys that
we thought were in his prime during Brady's career, Why
would have Why would Gronk have been like the final straw. Yeah,
(01:02:15):
I from all my sources indicate that nothing like that
ever happened, it came close to happening. Um, So I
don't I don't I can't kind of speak on that
because I don't think that was a final straw, because
it was never really a realistic scenario. You know, most
of us had kind of put it together and put
it to bed, even before Mr Kraft came out on
that Wednesday and said, looked at that this was hardwash.
(01:02:38):
Nothing nothing like this ever happened. But you know, my
sources and and several of the other reporters around town
had gotten the same vibe from from their sources that
this was just a, um, you know, an inaccurate report
that kind of took off on a kind of a
dull Friday in in the world. Um, and they just said,
you know, let's run with this, and you know, people
(01:02:59):
picked it up every where. But you know, almost immediately
I had people calling me. And it's usually the other
way around, like you're calling your sources, but I had
sources calling me right away saying, hey, look, I don't
know whether this is coming from, but do yourself a
favor and get out in front of us and and
and say that it's not happening, because it is not happening.
Jim McBride, Boston Globe last one for me. David Price
had another awkward interaction with media members there in Boston.
(01:03:23):
What's the experience been like dealing with David Price there?
This is not the first time he's had a running
with them, is he just had just been a total
pain in the ask to you guys, Well, you know,
he's he's been difficult to to um, to work with
and and to to kind of get a read on.
But I kind of thought last night was was was
kind of funny and kind of him maybe maybe like
(01:03:45):
getting used to it and maybe getting used to the
spotlight and and how much attention he actually, you know,
is gonna received from from Red Sox media when he's
going wow like this, um, you know, he's I don't
think he's a guy that's ever really been comfortable in
the spotlight that way. Uh, And it's obviously taking him
two and a half years to do that. But I
found last night's interaction kind of funny. He was, you know,
(01:04:07):
they asked him about the spotlight in New York and
obviously that's that's where they were last time when he
had to step out of there was a whole Fortnite
controversy and someone actually flow to the word cook fortnight
to him last night he played right along with it.
He just kind of said yes fortnight, and he and
he kind of laughed. So you know, people were like, Hey,
was he being a wise ass? Hey was he? Was
he being funny? I really thought from the sense I got,
(01:04:27):
he was just being he was just being funny and
going along with it. So I think it's probably for
Red Sox man is a really positive sign that he's
feeling more comfortable, uh in that clubhout when media are
actually in there, not just his teammates, because I know
he's beloved by his teammates. I'll wrap up with this
because I was in New York a little over a
week ago covering the US Open, but hearing New York
media talk about the Yankees and talk about the Red Sox.
(01:04:51):
Is David Price against the Yankees a real thing? And
is David Price in the postseason a real thing? Something
that the Red Sox need to be concerned about. Well,
I think we'll know a lot this Sunday night. You know,
it's gonna be the only game in town. And and
he's he's on the mound for the Red Sox. So
if he can continue the remember he's been on the
last six starts Uh, you know, I think that's a
(01:05:11):
positive sign for Red Sox fans, um and and and
actually for Yankees fans too, because when those two teams
are playing the way they are right now, it makes
for an awful fun summer. And we're all hoping for
an awful fun fall too, So I think we'll we'll
learn a lot about David Price this Sunday night when
when when ESPN shows the game, find him on Twitter
(01:05:31):
at Globe. Jim McBride write for The Boston Globe. Jim
McBride joining us here on Fox Sports Radio. Appreciate it, Jim,
thanks so much for the time you bet. Thanks guys,
Dan Buyer, Jonas Knox in for Doug Gottlieb here on
Fox Sports Radio. Coming up next here on fs are
it is history. We have never done this in the
(01:05:51):
history of the show, all right, So if you want
to be a part of history, do not go anywhere.
That's yours next here on Fox Sports Radio. But for
all the latest from around the world of sports, it's hey, guys.
A big signing in the NBA Commissioner Adam Silver has
signed a contract extension through the twenty four season. Lakers
have extended a qualifying offer to forward to Julius Randalls,
(01:06:12):
so he becomes a restricted free agent, and the U. S.
Department of Justice has approved Walt Disney Company's purchase of
twenty first century Fox, but only on the condition they
sell Foxes Regional Sports Network. To get you caught up
on the World Cup action, Brazil one Group EVE with
their two nil win over Serbia, so Brazil will face
Group F runner up Mexico in the round of sixteen.
(01:06:34):
Mexico advanced despite being routed by Sweden three nil. Switzerland
advances to the round of sixteen with their two old
draw with Costa Rica, so Switzerland will meet Group F
winner Sweden in the knockout round. Of course, the stunner
of the day was in group after defending champ Germany
was eliminated, losing to nil to South Korea. This is
the first time in Germany's history they do not advance
(01:06:55):
out of the group stage. In baseball action, Adam Duval's
to run single the difference for the Reds. They beat
the Brave six to five. Royals lead the Brewers five
one top nine in Milwaukee the Blue Jays six for
leaders at Houston. They leave the Astros in the top
of the a thinning and just seeing news guys at.
Jason Worth has told fan Cred Sports he is calling
it a career after a decade in the major He
(01:07:16):
said thanks, thanks, but no thanks, just like you said
to me after they won the OH eight World Series. Hey, hey, Jason,
would you like to do an interview with Fox Sports Radio? No,
so there was yeah, the ten year anniversary. That's ten
seasons ago, Jason Worth shot me down for a postgame interview. Now,
how did you respond to him? All right, thanks Jason? Yeah,
that was yeah, very very professional. That was it was.
(01:07:39):
It was on the field as the Phillies were celebrating.
He did have the great beard before Bryce Harper had
the great beer. That's true, that's true, John Robbos, Yeah,
I think the best time to shoot down interviews is
when you're in your best moment. YEA, no thanks, like
we're going to grill him. Two minutes after Brad Lidge
through the final strike to win the World Series, oh
(01:07:59):
Amaz saying he's Jonas Knocks, I'm Dan Buyer. We are
in for Doug Gottlieb here on the Doug Gottlieb Show.
Online car shopping can be confusing not anymore with true

price you'll pay for your next car. So there's a
true Card to enjoy a more confident car buying experience.
You know, when we get together on the summer and
and do the show, guys, we love to make fun
of things in in what people some people like to
(01:08:21):
say is a slow period during the summer, a slow
sports period. Now, leagues like the NFL don't really have
anything going on. NBA is wrapping up, but we do
have free agency. But you see a lot of pieces
out there of I don't know, filler stuff from for publications. Right. Yes, look,
you need clicks, you need people to pay attention, and
(01:08:42):
so the way to do it is what the NFL
network does with their top one players list, which really
there's no rhyme or reason for and it doesn't make sense,
but it causes controversy. And so when people put together
these lists, you'll click through, you'll see it, you'll get
angry about it, and then it turns into a topic.
It's it's a ruse. It's a magic trick. We all
know how it's done, and we fall forward every year.
(01:09:04):
Last year, I think we ranked the top five rankings
the rankings article. This year, we're gonna do something a
little different. It's a game called Rank or Prank, all right,
and John Ramos is going to be in the hot
seats on this, Okay, John, and and John, what you
are going to have to figure out? And I don't
(01:09:25):
know if we can get the band. I don't know
if we've got them available to to to hang around,
but maybe yeah, just being a little fun time music
as we play Rank or Prank. John Ramos is going
to have to decipher whether the the ranking that we
give him is an actual ranking put online by a
website or something that is made up by Jonas and myself.
(01:09:49):
And so John Ramos is going to have to figure
that out. Now. When John Ramos answers, he's going to
have to answer in one of two ways. If it
is if you believes you said it is true and
it is a rank, you will hear ding yeah, there
you go, there it is. And if it is a
(01:10:09):
prank and not true, you will hear okay. So that's
how you're gonna answer, John, You're gonna have to answer
that way. Are you ready to roll on the game
that we like to call rank or prank? All right,
yes this applies? All right? Okay, all right? All the
way that is that is under the file. If you
(01:10:31):
can't find anything else on short notice, that's that's my bad. Sorry.
I thought the producer RG would be all over this.
All good, all right, John, time to decide with this.
I'll start it out. Okay, John, is this a rank
or prank? A real headline or a fake headline? Here's
(01:10:52):
a look at ten NFL players who are poised for
big things this season. I think that's a rank, So
that ben he is correct. That is a rank. That
was a real headline that we saw from CBS Sports.
All right, Johnny ready, Yes, here we go the top
(01:11:15):
five dead body discoveries in sports rank or prank. I
would say that's a prank. That's a tough one, okay, John.
Top ten places to eat in Russia during the World Cup.
That's a rank. No, it's not. Yeah, I just made
(01:11:38):
it up. Putin's pudding not on the top head list
did not work out. That is a fake headline. That
is a frank. Hi, Johnny ready, here we go, rank
or prank. Six quarterback quandaries that could affect the college
football playoff. That sounds like a prank, the wrong gune
(01:12:01):
ohe they rank. By the way, if you are running
any of these websites and you hear your headline being
read during this segment, I don't take a personal We
get it. We understand what's happening here. We you know
the business. John rank or prank top ten sports blunders.
Rank that is correct. That is correct, And that was
(01:12:21):
right after j R. Smith's blunder where they let's let's
remember everybody else being an idiot. Johnny, you ready for
this rank or pranks? Eleven times Germany's head coach picked
this crotch and smelled it on camera. Well, that's that's
happened probably, But I say that's a prank. You are correct, John,
Very good? That is very good. John. All right, John,
(01:12:43):
you're doing well at this game so far. The top
ten high school football coaches that should be an NFL
head coach right now? Is that rank or prank? That
sounds like a rank, But that's definitely a prank that
it is. You know, I can coach in the NFL.
(01:13:03):
I just took Washington Hide to eight and two records
the distor four playoffs. John Rancor prank. Yes, the top
five moment moments from Dale Jr. And Amy Earnhardt's home
renovation show. That's tank. That is a rank, John, screw you. John,
owner of Junior, is like, here's my man cave go risky. Yeah,
(01:13:28):
he's gonna say I just took down my cousin's jersey
put up an Alex Smith on uh that we do
awful Dale Juniors. I just realized you guys want to
see my assigned J Schrader starting lineup. Alright, John Rancor prank,
here's baseball's best second base umpires. That is correct. Use
(01:13:51):
I laughed, like he sucks at first and third, but
put him at second. He's on lamark. Okay, Johnny, you ready,
here we go Rancor prank, ranking all thirty two NFL
head coaches from worst to first. Oh, that's a that's
a rank. That is by the way, that's thirty two clicks.
That is Oh, we got a couple more for you, John.
(01:14:13):
Five things to watch at the KPMG Women's PGA Championship.
That's a rank that is correct. That is true. Oh,
Like I didn't know that was a real thing. Yes,
and I think it's this weekend. All right, Johnny, Rank
or prank ranking the top professional sports franchises in South Dakota.
That's a prank, John, You're very good anyway. I just
(01:14:36):
figured out I should hit the thing first before I
get that's all right. That's all right, I'm working out
the kinks. We'll redo this next segment and see how
it goes. All right, Final one? Here the top five
NBA arena sound systems. Oh, I think that's a rank. No,
it's a number one. Yeah. Who h D Garden pumps
(01:14:58):
up the jam like no other arena. John. Because I'm
an audio person, I think that'd be kind of cool
if they did something like that. I have one more
for you, John, if if you're feeling up to it, Yes, right,
Rank or prank the Canadian beer. Johnny Manzel is most
likely to be caught with. That's all right, Rank or prank.
(01:15:24):
You're on Fox Sports Radio. Pretty good at this game, John.
Some of those were curveballs, though, very funny. Some of
them were very funny, Like I I would love to
find who went online to be like, oh yeah, I
want to find the top ten Russian restaurants So delicious,
(01:15:47):
Zangi zucchini yeah, old old Russian tame all right, Dan Buyer.
Jonas knocks it for Doug gott Leeb here on Fox
Sports Radio. Coming up next year on FSR. So there
is some very controversial comments that were heard earlier today.
We will play those for you and get your reaction
next year. Checking your home team Farmers Customizable home insurance
(01:16:09):
packagewe offer covered options you can tailor for your home turf.
At Farmers, we know a thing or two because we've
seen the finger two, Discover home coverede options and more
at Farmers dot Com. Are Farmers. He's Jonas knocks, I'm
Dan Bio, That's John Ramas. We are in for Doug
Gottlieb today here on the Doug Gottlieb Show, and that's
because Doug was busy today in for the Herd on
(01:16:30):
Colin Cowherd. We'll hear what Doug says is we like
to play a game. It's not really a game. I
guess it's a segment. But Doug did weigh in on
the proposal of the Houston Rockets to switch free agency
and the NBA Draft in the NBA to have free
agency first and then have the NBA draft. This is
(01:16:51):
Doug's take earlier today, Hey, why don't we do what
the NFL does, have free agency first, then have the
draft at the NBA playoffs can oud in mid June,
so then you're gonna have right then it's it's it's
open season for two weeks or three weeks and then
extends all the way to the regular season. It helps
you get some trains being made. Okay, The problem with
(01:17:13):
that is if you push back the draft any further.
These teams they want to get their players in the
summer league, they want to evaluate who they have, They
want to get some of their younger players more time.
You just you don't have the time with the NBA
off season. That was Doug Gottlieb being cut off there
on the Herd on Colin Cowherd. But Doug's point, jonas
(01:17:34):
different than what you and I talked about when this
news came out yesterday. Yeah. Look, he's saying from a
timeline standpoint, it's not enough time to get people ready.
I would say, if you're an NFL general manager, who
do you trust more younger players or veteran players. So
if you're in a jam and you don't have as
much time, you'd want to trust veteran players, which is
(01:17:56):
why it does make sense. Because if you add your
free agent and then you go to the draft afterwards,
like we were saying yesterday, there's not this rush to
find a guy to fill a need. It's just take
the best player available, or you can take a project player,
and you're not in a rush. You're not so worried
about the time that it's going to take to get
them ready. I just I think it makes a lot
(01:18:16):
of sense. Your point also yesterday was that with the
one and done likely being changed in three years or
four years or whatever it would be, that would lend
even more time to take a guy out of high
school if he chose to go to the NBA, and
then you wouldn't need to rush him to get him
ready for the NBA season. The biggest concern people have
with getting rid of the one and done and allowing
(01:18:37):
high school players to go straight from high school into
the pros is that they're not ready. Uh, they're not developed.
Um you know, Uh, these guys are going to be
thrown into a situation they're not prepared for. They think
they are, but they're not really ready, and it's gonna
expose a lot of players who just aren't capable of it.
In this If this goes down this way and the
(01:18:58):
one and done is gone, when's happening is you no
longer have to feel the need to throw those guys
into the fire, so to speak. You can wait it
out because you have built your roster, you know who's
gonna be there ahead of time. And then also if
it's something that's gonna continue the NBA conversation longer in
the off season, is that a bad thing? And I
(01:19:19):
think it would be a great thing that that's that's
a way that you build a twelve month sport like
the NFL has done all over the past few years.
And the NFL in this situation has an easier time
than the NBA because their season of playing games is
much shorter. What ends up taking the NBA and making
it a troublesome spot if if, if you will, is
(01:19:40):
that their season now stretches so much of the calendar
it is now even stretching more with that mid October start,
that there never really is even an off season. So
you can unless you wanted to move the draft, the
NBA draft to early May while the playoffs are going
on you're gonna have to deal with this one way
or another. And in the flip opping Jonas, we're talking
(01:20:02):
about a matter of two or three weeks. That's really
what it is. Because the draft would end up moving
from late June. Of this Rockets proposal were to go
through to somewhere around July tenth, you could get guys ready.
You could have a Summer league on July seventeenth, where
Summer League starts this uh a week from Saturday, I believe,
or at least around the sixth and seventh in Las Vegas.
(01:20:23):
So you you're only really missing out on ten days.
So I don't think that the the calendar crunches as
bad considering we're jamming these things in between the end
of June and July. Anyway, car shopping can be confusing
with terms like dealer, priceless price, and invoys. True Car
shows you what other people paid for the car you.
Once he can recognize a good price. When you're ready
(01:20:43):
to buy a new or used car, visit True Car
to enjoy a more competent car buying experience. We even
talked about this last week when we got together about
the NBA Draft. In the NFL Draft, switching roles, where
the NBA draft now was more of a developmental situation,
where the NFL draft is not only do you want
production from your first round pick, you need it from
(01:21:05):
your second and third round pick. So this would I
think this would help the NBA even more so. I'm
also curious to see what kind of buzz the Summer
League gets this year without LaVar Ball. Yeah, and that
he had a big he was a big part of
it last year. The names aren't as big, but all
thirty teams taking part in the Vegas Summer League. Yeah,
I don't know if we're gonna get eighteen thousand in
Vegas and Gen Ramos hanging out as well. In fact,
(01:21:28):
at the bottom of the hour they'll be letting it
all hang out in the John Ramo Shows. Strike One
can always listen to the show on Serious XM Channel
Lady three. The I Heart Radio appen of course at
Fox Sports Radio dot Com. Getting closer and closer Jonas
to free agency and also maybe, I I guess, maybe
(01:21:50):
inevitably it could be the case if he gets traded.
We're getting closer and closer to the possibility that Kawhi
Leonard is no longer a San Antonio Spur. But how
close that could be, who knows. We we've talked about
the timeframe we had people on earlier this week. That's
saying they don't think Kauai is gonna be with the
team when training camp starts in late September early October,
(01:22:12):
when that ends up taking place, But we may not
see anything within the next forty eight hours with Kawai
being dealt by the San Antonio Spurst. Yeah, but now
the clock is ticking reportedly again just reportedly that in
order to go somewhere, Lebron James needs to he will
not go alone. So the Lakers are being told to
(01:22:34):
facilitate a deal with Kawhi Leonard because the Paul George
scenario isn't exactly set in stone. People think he's leaning
towards or feels obligated to stay in Oklahoma City. So
now the uh, yeah, the Laker front office has gotta scramble.
There's just there's so much that is being demanded happen
in such a short amount of time. I just don't
know how it's possible. The Paul George thing, and you're
(01:22:56):
bringing that point up about him him feeling an obligation
because of what the the Thunder gave up to get
him is so absurd because it means Paul George's future
relies on the play of Victor Oladipo like that that
that's essentially what we're saying, because if they're Ladipo stunk
(01:23:19):
with the Pacers and didn't turn into the All Star
that he was this past season, we would be saying, man,
the Pacers gave up Paul George for Victor Oladipo and
Tamontes Sibonis, and Sibonis has turned into a nice player.
But it's really the play of Oladipo that put the
trade over the top for the Pacers and having him
(01:23:40):
for for a long term deal. But if that's what
Paul George is thinking, isn't that Isn't that what he's saying,
Because if the trade was one sided with the Thunder winning,
then it would be like Paul George doesn't have any
you know, like, hey, you won the trade for a year,
you got rid of two guys that that weren't good players.
It seems like if that's Paul George's argument, it's ridiculous
(01:24:03):
to think that Victor Oladipo's success in a different city
in a different conference would make Paul George's decision on
where he wants to play his future basketball. If Paul
George stays in Oklahoma City, We've got to have a
sit down with Oklahoma City thunder fans. We've got to
have a sit down with them on how they're able
to get so many people to feel sorry for him.
(01:24:23):
How are they able to do it? It's amazing, Like
if they guilt him into staying in Oklahoma City, that
is amazing. I'd love to sit down there and go,
how do you do it? Because I would utilize that
in my everyday life. It is an amazing thing they
would be able to do. Don't feel bad for him.
They've been given enough. They've had so many great players
in such a short amount of time. Don't feel bad
for him. Don't feel like you're obligated to stay there
(01:24:45):
because of it. Now, the extra money they can pay
him as opposed to somebody else, yes, that makes a
lot of sense. But if he does stick around there
when everybody assumed it was a shoe in, it's gonna
be for the Laker fans like that. DeMar DeRozan situation
all over again. He went to sc of course he
wants back in l A. No, not only did he
not go to l A, he didn't stay in the country,
(01:25:07):
stayed in Canada. Yeah, the Lakers. And and this is
in going back to Kauai and looking how it plays out.
If you can't force a trade or make a trade
with the San Antonio Spurs, bringing in Paul George before
Lebron James cease to work, it seems to work. That
seems to be like a good plan. And and Magic
(01:25:28):
said the yesterday that he quit if they didn't do
anything over the next two seasons free agency. That so
that makes me think that he has an idea of
what he wants what is going to be done. But
when I look at Paul George, and I look and
you look at Kauai, Leonard, is the grass always greener
on the other side. And I think for Kauai it's
(01:25:48):
it's more of a of a decision than it is
for Paul George. I don't think that Paul George, if
he comes to the Lakers, he have the spotlight is
bigger Jonas. But if he has Lebron James playing alongside
next to him, usually the number two guy doesn't get
as much flak as the number three guy does to
form your big three. So I think Paul George actually
would be somewhat protected by Lebron if Kauai Leonard leaves
(01:26:13):
San Antonio. I think it's a different story because of
its of it's forcing a trade and and Kauai had
it nice. Paul George got some flak in the later
years in in Indianapolis of just because he knew that
he was going to leave town. Maybe the thunder media.
And I know that it's not a real thing good
bared to New York or l A. But maybe it's
just maybe Kawhi Leonard doesn't realize how good he had
(01:26:34):
it in San Antonio that going somewhere else the grass
isn't always greener. And I know Brian Windhorst had also
made mention of the idea, and and he's you know,
been following Lebron around for for years like who are
the who's the who are the people that when like
you watch the royal wedding, there's somebody behind him that
carries the end of the dress. So she doesn't like
get it dirty, like that's Windhorse to Lebron, Like wherever
(01:26:57):
he goes, he's carrying, he's to his dress up the
steps as he goes to get married, Like it's very,
very bizarre. But he pointed out, you know, it's not
exactly a shoe in that Kauai Leonard wants to play
with Lebron. Like if we all assume that, but maybe
there is something too. Kyrie Irving wanted away from Lebron.
(01:27:19):
In the NBA Finals, when things got really bad and
really bleak for them, you had Kevin Love come out
at the podium after a game or in between games saying, yeah,
we really miss Kyrie Irving. You've got anonymous Calves players
talking about how, yeah, we really miss Kyrie Irving. After
Kyrie Irving and the Celtics played the season opener against
(01:27:41):
Lebron James and the Calves, you would assume that those
Calves players would look at Kyrie Irving and say, I'll
screw this guy. He wanted away from us, We're gonna
stick it to him. After the game, they looked sad
that he wasn't part of their team. They looked bummed
out that he wasn't there. So we all assumed that
everybody wants to team up with the Ron James. Maybe
it's not the case. I think more and more NBA
(01:28:03):
players as he gets later in his career are looking
at this and maybe saying, I just don't want the drama.
It's always a circus, it's it's always it's always something else.
I don't I don't want to be a part of
a super team that's going to involve all the attention
going on him. So it's that's just another layer to
the It's not as easy for Lebron to just pick
his destination this time around. Do you think that Kauai
(01:28:26):
Leonard's reputation has already been damaged or do you think
it's in repair or kit can be repaired. Do you
think that maybe he's just still Kauai Leonard I because
he hasn't said anything himself all it is a speculation.
It's kind of like the Colin Kaepernick stuff. And again
(01:28:47):
we're not going that part of the Colin chap so
just stick around and trust me. But it's kind of
like we're all assuming and filling in the blanks of
what Kaepernick wants and what he's trying to get at,
but he's never actually spoken about it. We all have him.
He wants to play and wants to get back into
the NFL, but he's never really said that he does.
He's never spoken publicly or done an interview. We all
assume that Kawhi Leonard is this this great guy, loyal guy,
(01:29:10):
and he's on the up and up, and he's being
honest about the injury and he's really upset about what happened.
He's never said anything, and so if he doesn't say anything,
it just leads to more speculation and to what we
were talking about earlier. There's just it's some of this
stuff is problematic. Whether it is a chronic injury or
it's not. That means that you wanted so out of
a situation that you gave up on your teammates, it's problematic.
(01:29:33):
I think I think that his reputation is damaged. And
if you want to draw I don't know if you
could draw the same parallel, because I don't know if
Kauai Leonard wanted to get Gregg Popovitch fired, which never
would have happened. But when you saw how things ended
with the Orlando Magic and Dwight Howard years back, there
was the whole stand Van Gundy fiasco. There was Dwight
(01:29:54):
Howard not going to sign a long term contract with
the Orlando Magic, and up until that point, and even
up until that two thousand nine finals where it's crazy
to think that Dwight Howard and Hito Turkulu took a
team to the NBA Finals, but they did in two
thousand nine. When you look at Dwight Howard leading up
to that point, from when he was drafted to when
(01:30:15):
they made the NBA Finals, Dwight Howard was was the
feel good story, the smiling you know, the gentle giant
who could dominate a game twenty points, ten rebounds and
seemed to be a star. But then all of a sudden,
you see some fractures and what happens in the in
the nice confines of Orlando, you end up getting traded
to a team like the Lakers and having to play
(01:30:37):
with Kobe Bryant and Dwight Howard's true self, or from
what we know of Dwight Howard's true self, seemed to
be exposed in a lot of other spots where Jonas
it took like six or seven years for the true
Dwight Howard to to really come out in Orlando I'm
wondering if that's gonna be the same situation with Kawhi
Leonard and San Antonio where we thought it was the
soft spoken guy that we didn't know much about, but
(01:30:58):
he was the Finals m v P. It was a
great two way player, and now all of us and
he goes to another team that could be Kawhi Leonard.
He could be following the same footsteps as Dwight Howard.
It's something there. You gotta be careful because the grass
isn't always greener on the other side. And for a
guy who we've always heard doesn't like drama, doesn't like
the attention, very quiet, very reserved guy. You know, maybe
(01:31:20):
a team that involves Lavarbon Lebron James isn't the best
spot for you. Maybe, uh, but I don't know, Maybe
that doesn't Maybe you're looking at that going, yeah, it's
not really ideal. By the way, if if Lebron James
and Kawhi Leonard do team up and win an NBA Championship,
it will be the second time Kawhi Leonard has won
(01:31:40):
an NBA Finals for Lebron James because he did miss
that free throw. Oh there you go, that that little
six year old singing it there. It is six year
old humor here on Fox Sport Training. It's an amazing
it's an amazing love triangle that we've got with Kawhi Leonard,
Paul George and Lebron j Aimes. Because I mean, by
(01:32:02):
the way, not the first time. I love triangle involving
Paul George is probably, in fact the Roy Hibbert, the
the the Paul George Oklahoma City possibility I think is
only viable because maybe Kauai Leonard goes to l a
and maybe they maybe they prefer him over Paul George.
(01:32:24):
So Paul George is keeping his options open. I don't
know how one season in Oklahoma City would make somebody
want to stay with the organization, with that organization, after
years and years and years of wanting to be a
Los Angeles Laker, how could nine months in Oklahoma City
(01:32:45):
change Paul George's mind. The only way would be is
if the Lakers then would want Kawhi Leonard and Lebron
James and there wouldn't be rule room for Paul George.

The John Ramo Show comes up in about ten minutes
or so here on Fox Sports Radio. Joining us now,
he's the center for the New York Knicks. Question is
how long? And it's Cantor Joining us here on Fox
Sports Radio. Hey are you doing today? We are doing well. Um,
(01:35:15):
you got a decision to make, and I want to
make on Friday. By Friday, what what is the situation
with your contract? And are you going to opt in
to your contract and play next season with the New
York Knicks. Yeah, just break it right, um Um, I
(01:35:35):
told everybody you know, I'm gonna make my decision on Friday,
so I have I got two more days. Man, you
know I'm taking my time. Okay, Well, well let me
just let me just sell you in the city of Milwaukee. Okay,
let me just say the winters aren't as bad as
as you may think. Brand new arena, brand new arena.
You've You've got Janice and Tedna coompo there. I know
(01:35:56):
you know that. And I'm just saying the Bucks may
have an answer. Riste Venis makes his decision one way
or the other. And I just just totally randomly, I
just want to tell you Milwaukee is beautiful in the fall.
It's beautiful in the spring. You're gonna be mostly indoors
in the winter anyway. You know what winter is like
in the York. I just try to sell you on
how great of a city Milwaukee is Oh man, I'm man,
(01:36:20):
I'm still I'm still thinking about but um, you know
what I think. You know, I'm saying this from beginning
of the season. I want to stay with the Knicks, man.
I mean, I love I love the fan basically, I
love the atmosphere, I love the city, I love the
organization everything. So I'll do anything to stay here. You know, Hey,
what's the earliest in the morning and my earliest, I
(01:36:40):
mean latest you've left the club that you've eaten it
one of those euro carts in Manhattan one of those
street trucks in Manhattan that are opening all hours of
the night. Usually people walk out of like street meet euros, Like,
what's the latest, the earliest you've been at one of
those after leaving some place? Man, you know what, I
(01:37:01):
don't I don't trust them. I don't know if I
don't even't know if they've cleaned up. I've never read
them before. Um. Okay, in all seriousness, have you had
any sort of interaction with Lebron James outside of social
media to try and lure him to New York if
you decided to stay. I actually no, man, not really.
All I do is just you know, he's just trying
(01:37:21):
to get him on social media. But but I think
it will be It'll be an amazing fit man, because
like he's trying to be the best. I feel like
if he wins in New York, then there's no question
he's the best. He's the goat if he went in
New York, because the whole city, the organization, everything, Man,
it's just it's New York. You know, that's it enough
thought that that's New York. What is the greatest thing
(01:37:43):
about being a knick Um? I think that first of all,
they call they call it the mecca, so everybody comes
here to make sure they get a fresh haircut, they
played their best, even if you heard you're good because
you played the coming at msg thing is that the
best thing will be being a nake is just it's
(01:38:03):
the city, man, because I love being here. How much
different was that for you coming from Oklahoma City to
Madison Square Garden. Just the number of the amount of
media the reporters, like, how much different was that for you?
Did it take time to get it used to it
and adjusted? Oh? Yes it did. But my first thing
was Utah jazz, And man, I don't want to even
(01:38:25):
talk about it. My second team was my city. My
second team was Aloma City, the whole organization, the players,
everybody was so nice. I cannot thank him enough. But
New York City, man, it's a whole different level. Man,
I'm a whole different state, whole different players, everything. I mean,
that's why I think it's just this is the best.
(01:38:48):
I think that that's what they call the Mecca. And
his Canather joining us here on Fox Sports Radio Center
for the New York Knixt. He's Jonas Knocks. I'm Dan Buyer.
I know it's it's early, but in your conversations, how
different is it with David Fizdale is now the head coach?
What what has impressed you or what's been different just
with with him now leading the organization. I mean when
(01:39:10):
I was with Okay, see I play against the against
himselves so many times against Memphis. I mean he I
just love how he uses players. He gives so much freedom. Uh,
he gives so much confidence and played so so much
comfortable on the court. I Mean I met him in
Chicago around the Draft combine and then man, that that
guy gave me so much confidence and you know, just
(01:39:31):
he said, hey, we know you count scoring side. Now
we just want you to step outside. Stop you shooting
three stretched to pull out. I'm like, of courch you sure,
I said, yeah, I'm I want you to shoot threes.
I'm like, okay, coach, you know. And then I've been
working since. I think he's already changing the culture. I
think he's uh, he's a hard working guy. I mean
(01:39:51):
he's I think it's gonna be really, you know, good
for us. What's the anytime during your career the one
report or rumor about you on social media that was
the biggest lie, um, the biggest lie. I'm trying to think.
I'm trying to think. I'm trying to think. I think
(01:40:13):
that was a rumor based that Canada was about to
get traded to Toronto, rapt there's I think that was
like the biggest lie or something, biggest rumor that was terrible.
Come on, man, Yeah, but did you did you get
you scared a little bit? You saw it on social media?
Didn't you call your agent or somebody? Goes there any
true to this? Actually yes? Because I don't even have
a passport, so I'm like, how am I going to
(01:40:33):
go to toront I'm not going there? Ruad games only
you'd be well rested for the playoffs if that were
the case. At his cancer of the New York Knicks
joining us here on Fox Sports Radio, He's Jonas Knocks.
I'm Dan Buyer. You can get ennis on Twitter and
underscore cancer. Tell me this. We've got you in New
(01:40:55):
York City at Times Square five hours ago and in
and out three hours go. What is the meaning of
these pictures with no title? I don't know how you
can be in two places at one time and being
so I was just I was I was just rested
with people because I get so many questions from my
from my friends, like all these people, just the fans, Hey, man,
(01:41:16):
are you gonna up in or up out? In or out?
That's why I posted that picture in an out picture.
But I think the time skirts I yesterday was my
third time straight. I wanted I went there. I think
I would just like I just love being there, man,
just be with the fans. Thing. I wouldn't talk, don't
take pictures. I think it just it just shows that
(01:41:37):
how much these fans are, the available and especially the
fans are because um, it's just they are just so respectful.
Whenever I go there, they just give me some warm welcome.
I think even if I, like, if I like decided
to stay here, I think that just because of the
fans will be the number one case. You seem like
(01:42:01):
you enjoy it so much. So how much of this
is just, you know, let me kind of tease them
a little bit and make everybody think I'm still weighing
my option. It just seems like a perfect fit for you. Man.
You have a great time there, The fans love you.
It seems like your type of place, your type of energy.
I mean, do you do you sort of have a
feeling now already which to say, you don't have to
(01:42:21):
tell us you know which way you're going or which
way you're leaning, But do you have a feeling which
way you're leaning as far as whether you're gonna stay
in New York or whether you're gonna leave right now,
even though you're gonna announce it Friday. It's bro it's
just so weird. So I had this uh you know
charity even uh this Clinton Foundation. So I went there.
(01:42:41):
I met with Bill Clinton. Even he told me he
wants me to stay with the Knicks. I'm not. And
there's a video I'm going to post it on for Friday.
I'm not this is crazy, man, Like everybody on earth
wants me to stay with the Knicks. I'm like, Okay,
I've been saying this for like for a long time,
and I want to stay with here with the Knicks.
But gonna understand in the end his business. You know, Yeah,
(01:43:02):
not everybody wants you to stay with the Knicks. I'm
just saying, as a box fan, not everybody wants you
to stay with the Knicks and his cantor joining us
here on Fox Sports Radio. You do have fun on
social media. We've had you on the show before. We've
had a good time. But there is there are also
serious stuff that you're dealing with, specifically with your with
your father, as the Turkish court has I guess labeled
(01:43:23):
him a terrorist or a member of a terrorist group.
How much of that occupies your time? In dealing with
with what's going on in Turkey and what's going on
with your family, how much how much of that occupies
your time? Well, I'm glad this is not happening during
the season, and it's tough because the oldest what what's
happened in or Turkey and to my family and oldest people.
(01:43:46):
It's just pretty sad, man, because now like the Turkish
government trying to silence me. That's why they put on
my dad into jail, they put on my friends in
the jail and everything because they don't want me to talk.
And then because they know when I told it goes
everywhere like we don't right now, and they know everybody's
will follow me on social media or just all the
(01:44:06):
news and everything. So I think it's just pretty sad
that seeing my country, seeing my people or my family
going through these tough times. But you know, all I
can do is just you know, just play for my
country and just um, keep doing what I'm doing, just
keep trying to be worse of all Simpson people man,
because I mean those people don't even have a voice. Um,
(01:44:27):
and that's why I'm using my platform to speak out
and just and and they hated the government hated. Is
their guilt at all? Or is it is that outweighed
by by the message that you're trying to send. If
you ever have you ever thought about not speaking because
of what they're trying trying to do to your family?
I mean, my my teammates asked me the same question,
(01:44:49):
like it's like a man. You know your family is
still there. You know your brothers, your sisters still there,
So why don't you just stop talking and just just
do just play basketball. But I think, I mean, there
is not just my family. There's over a hundred thousand
people out there waiting waiting for for help. So this
is not just my family. Is my family, friends, my neighbors,
(01:45:11):
my other friends. So they're waiting for help, but nobody
came here because they don't have a voice. And that's
why what I say, I'm trying to be the voice
of all these in some people. That's what That's what
I mean. And I think the most important thing, man,
it's just you know, basketball comes and goes. I think
what I'm doing is right now, way bigger than basketball,
(01:45:31):
way bigger than the NBA, because all these people out there,
you know, they're talking about the you know, government and
the Turkish regime is just getting chilled, getting kidnapped, getting tortured,
putting the jail and stuff. So now they just put
my dad in just for fifteen years, just just because
it's my dad. I mean, that's that's pretty crazy. Man.
(01:45:52):
Have you ever feared for your life during this whole ordeal? Yeah,
I get that I said this before, and I get
that's like at least two or three times a week
and on social media Instagram, message everything. So I mean,
I I think I don't think they can do anything
in America, but as soon as I stepboun side of America,
(01:46:14):
then it'll be way more dangerous than up weeks. And
it's Cantor are friend and joining us here on Fox
Sports Radio. Find him on Twitter at and it's underscore
Cantor And we'll be waiting Friday for your final decision
and what you're gonna do with your contractor no matter
what you do, good luck with that and good luck
with everything else that involves you in your family. Thank you,
(01:46:35):
appreciate it man, that means a lot of thank you.
And it's Canter joining us here on Fox Sports Radio. Good.
I would find it hard to believe that he would
leave the next man, she seems like a perfect speak
I am perfect. I tried to sell him on Milwaukee.
I didn't bring up the multiple culverts that are on
the Greater Milwaukee area. Maybe I should have. We can
(01:46:56):
bring him back and I can tell him. Uh Dan
by Jonas Stocks and for Doug Gottlief here on Fox
Sports Radio. Um coming up next here on fs ARE.
It's been called not the worst segment in sports radio history.
All right, it is not the worst segment in sports
radio history. It's what everybody has been talking about. It
(01:47:17):
is the John Ramo Show. If you've never heard it before,
it is a show within the show. It is groundbreaking
sort of inception type sports radio here on fs ARE.
That's coming up next. But for all the latest from
around the world of sports, step Carson Well. The Houston
Astros were down to run bottom of the ninth Alex
Bregman pitch and Bregman drives. Festa come upcomel run for
(01:47:45):
Alex Bregman. Have the Astros will win in the bottom
of the night final seven of the six maybe at
the Blue Jays on the Astros Radio network, So they're
far up. Currently on the Mariners Royals held off the
Brewers six to five, Adam Duval's to run single with
the difference in the Red six five win over the Braves,
and World Cup Action Brazil one Group E with their
(01:48:07):
two nil win over Serbia. So Brazil advances to face
Group F runner up Mexico in the round of sixteen,
Mexico snuck in despite being routed by Sweden three nil.
Switzerland advances to the round of sixteen with their too
old draw with Costa Rica. Switzerland meets Sweden in the
knockout round. Big stunner of the day, Defending champ Germany
(01:48:27):
is out eliminated, losing two nil to South Korea. They
are out and don't advance out of the group stage
for the first time in their history. In fact, they
finished last in Group f Finally, NBA commissioner Adam Silver
hanging around for another few years. He signed an extension
through twenty twenty three twenty four season. It's like, where
else would you go? You know, I know, I know
(01:48:48):
the NFL at one point thought, hey, maybe we can
pull Adam Silver. But it's like I'm gonna go to
a different league, but I don't get a better deal.
They outdueled the NHL. Hey, oh man, what a what
a a job by the NBA. Thank you very much.
Deb This is the Doug gott Leaps Show on Fox
Sports Radio. He's Jonas Knocks. I'm Dan Buyers Summers here,
which means it's time to get to the ballpark. But
(01:49:09):
without a working car, battery you're gonna be watching from
the couch. Luckily, auto Zone offers free battery testing, so
you can be a part of the action. With free
services from AutoZone, you can't lose get in the zone.
Auto Zone. Does it get any better than this? I
think it's the John Ramo Shows, The John Ramo Show,
(01:49:32):
Ramo Show. This is the John Romino Sports on Box Radio.
Here's John Ramos. He says exactly what Suzanne tells him
to say. Shut up, John, there you go. Hey, come on,
get up, Let's let's do this. Everything good, even everybody.
(01:49:54):
We have a great show for you tonight. It's where's
the Beef Wednesday? The beef that's right. Make sure to
hashtag the John Ramos Show. Hey, we have a lot
of beef right here on our show and we'd like
to interact with you are fans, and make sure it
always again hashtag the John Romal Show. On tonight show.
In honor of the Germans getting bounced out of the
World Cup, we want you to tweet us what you
(01:50:16):
think with the biggest choke jobs in German history. Was
it Boris Becker at Wimbledon? Was it the guys from Beerfest?
How about Ramstein's second album. Maybe it's the acting career
of David Hasselhoff. I want to hear from you, and
I'll read your tweets on the year later on. Plus,
we're real insiders here on the John Romo Show, and
we'll share some top secret sports information with you on
(01:50:37):
the down low later on in tonight's show. Oh and
by the way, today's National Sunglasses Day. So Dan and
Jonahs Oakley or Ray Band, what's your favorite? Well, my
side kick Ryan is out today, so I have my
friend Robert here with me. Robert, let's get it started
with some basketball. But thought it was very Roberts to
(01:50:59):
say thanks se okay, I thought it was very interesting.
Paid Did you see that James hard ended up winning
the m v P, Robert? I did. I thought he
deserved it. Yeah, I agree. It was just a shame
though I'm sorry it was just a sham. What do
you mean, Well, that's the last time you ever see
him win a trophy in the NBA. Could have been
(01:51:22):
a sham or a SHAMEE is live? Bet Jesus still
running from the I R S. Find out next on
the John Robbos Shown, they got that open during a
ring pay for that got on the air. Oh man,
(01:51:46):
I used to have two of them. Oh hey boy,
bad week. Everybody given up from a new load. Hey boys,
it turns out nobody knows who any of you are
except Ricky Martin, so we'll just talk to him instead.
Don't forget Ricky and the boys will join us here
(01:52:06):
on stage later on for an in depth interview and
we'll discuss our mutual fascination with shiny pants to sechronize
dance members and fish tacos, so stay tuned for that. Also,
we have a John Romo Show exclusive something you won't
here on any other show in the country radio TV,
you're seeing any website of blog. It's Tom Brady the Goat.
I think you can make a case either way anyway.
(01:52:29):
But right now, just because we care here at the
John on the Show, it's time for me to share
a few secrets I've heard around the world of sports.
Is the down Low with John Rabos story so that
we can only talk about it's on the down blow.
(01:52:51):
This is the down low and all the down. Clippers
guard Austin Rivers was decided to opt in on his
deal and stay in l A for season, but on
the down low, I heard Doc hates him and he's
thinking of trading him to the Wizards and the NBA drafts.
(01:53:12):
Youre he had over three million viewers last week to
watch Adam Silver call it names of guys you never
heard of. But on the down low, I heard Silver
was so happy with the Rainings he's penning on holding
another draft next season. And the down Colin Coward has
been very critical of New Brown's quarterback Baker Mayfield since
(01:53:34):
the end of the season. But on the down low,
I heard Colin actually likes Baker and he's thinking of
having him on his TV show for an interview. Jamis
Winston has said he hopes to leave the Bucks to
the playoffs for the first time two thousand clever. But
on the downlow, I heard James is still in trouble
(01:53:56):
for that Uper incident and he might get suspended by
the NFL. Is the World Cup an actual Cup? Find out?
Next on The John Rammel Show, another test that so
much homework. Michael's dragging me crazy. Why aren't we to
the dance? What are we gonna do? No? Oh, you
(01:54:26):
can't get by without this one. The guys in the kitchen,
my brother's restaurant. Call me Ricky Martin, Ye Martin, let's
hear for Ricky Martin and all the other guys from
a new though who are here too all. I know
everyone on social media is going crazy right now for
Ricky and the other guys. I mean, we haven't heard
from NULO in like years, so I know our fans
(01:54:47):
are pleasantly surprised. I don't forget to stick around for
their injef interview later on the show. Also coming up,
I know you've been waiting for this. I will give
you my top ten five, my top five switch hitting
say hitters from the Cape Cod League to almost make
the major leagues. Trust me, there are some stars on
this list. But right now, in honor of one of
(01:55:08):
an honor of where's the beef stay, here are the
top ten places you might still hear that famous catchphrase
from the nineteen eighties. Number ten at the supermarket, number
nine on v H one, keep the time constraints, we
now move ahead in the progress. Number two in the NFL,
(01:55:29):
and number one at a strip club. That's all the
time we have for you tonight. A big thanks to
everyone who tweeted in using the hashtag the John Ramos Show.
Also thanks to Ricky Martin for bet special musical guest. Sorry,
(01:55:54):
Ricky will have to get to your interview next time,
and Robert, I'll catch you on the rebound on your
back side. Oh who is Bill Idol? Behind the scenes?
I've gotten word on the down low that Billy Idol
was going to be the musical guest, but it's somehow
(01:56:14):
changed to Ricky Martin and Menudo. Yeah, I thought I
didn't tell the script writers. And yeah, and and Billy
Idoly is how it was spelled. Should I most think
John that you should tweet out the script you were given.
Some people know that you can blame your writers, not
(01:56:35):
yourself for thinking that Bill Idoli was coming up. Oh
Bill Idoly, that is that amazing? That absolutely amazing. I mean,
I just I could have sword. It was eighties week,
but but apparently Mexico's win this changed everybody's mind. It
was a menudo eighties into the nineties. And then we
(01:56:56):
just only heard from Ricky Martin. We didn't even hear
the good part of the song or the popular part
of this song, and just cut off before he even
got to the chorus. That happens so good? All right?

We are Farmers. Yeah, yeah, Dev Carson is back with
us with the press. Why not? It was so nice
the first time. Let's do it twice, hey, guys. Well,
(01:58:49):
the Lakers are banking on free agency signings, including some
big names. Lebron James, of course, the biggest fish in
this year's free agency, but Adrian war Zanowski says Lebron
would prefer not to be the first star to join
the Lakers. He remains hesitant, which of course puts pressure
on the Lakers front office to try to execute execute
a trade with the Spurs to acquire Kauai Leonard right,
(01:59:12):
and and I think that that that's going to be difficult,
And that's why I think Paul George to l A
is going to be the first Domino that we are
going to get in this NBA off season. I may
not be right, but I think that's what's going to happen.
I just think it's it's too much to ask to
get a deal done between san Antonio and l A.
Do you think he has any idea where he's going.
There's some people out there that think, yeah, he's already
(01:59:35):
kind of known that he's going. I know Doug Gottlieb
was saying this, and this point was if he was
staying in Cleveland, wouldn't he have said it? Wouldn't have
come out and said something. And it feels like he
already knows the decisions already been made. Do you think
he knows because he's asking for a lot of things
to happen before he makes a decision for somebody who
allegedly knows his decision. I think he has a favorite,
and I think that Cleveland is his fallback plan. That's
(01:59:57):
that's what I think. I think it's a two horse
race and the Lakers are so far ahead, but if
things don't work out with the addition of that player,
that he's still got the fallback plan to opt in
and go back to the Cavaliers. Well, you guys mentioned
the possibility of Oklahoma Cities Paul George signing with the Lakers.
But The International Business Times talked to Paul George, who
said the Thunder did take a big risk in signing
(02:00:18):
him and said, quote, I didn't feel I finished as
strong as I could have, just knowing you left something
on the table. Even to this point now it weighs
on me end quote, I mean time together. Well what
do you what do you? What are you left on
the table? Russell Westbrook picked up and shot it for
three minutes. Oh god, this is just unbelievable. Okay, and
(02:00:39):
I like Russell Westbrook. Sorry, Ross alright. Moving on to soccer.
Diego Maradona had to be helped out of his seat
after Argentina's went over Nigeria yesterday. Now there were false
reports that he was dead. Report said he had died
of a heart attack. Maradonna said, no, he's not dead,
but he did confess to Benjie on white wine before
(02:01:01):
having to be helped away from his v I P Box. Yeah,
he actually um they discovered him at Genora's Jenkins House.
Dan or was it the sun Trust freezer? You must
have read in front of me here. I like how
(02:01:21):
he confirmed that he wasn't dead. Uh, he was not that.
A gentleman named Roosevelt Renee is dead. Twenty five year
old found dead in Generous Jenkins homes. As as our
our friend Jonas mentioned, so William Jenkins, the brother of
the Giants cornerback, was being sought earlier today he is
now in custody. He's been arrested for questioning in the
(02:01:41):
death of Mr Renee. That is, and I did. I
saw another report that he was charged with aggravated manslaughter. Um,
but again there's that's all the stuff's coming out, and
it's the story just happened yesterday. But if you're Genorris Jenkins,
imagine getting that call. What the hell is like? I'm
a town, I'm in Florida, and you find out there's
(02:02:02):
somebody dead or somebody was murdered on your property while
you're gone. How do you live there again? How do
you go back? Don't don't expect to cover up. The
Giants didn't cover anything like come. And then the other
story that Jonas alluded to, there was a body discovered
in a walk in freezer at SunTrust Park. The body
belonged to a third party worker. No foul play has
(02:02:25):
been ruled out just yet, but the person has not
been identified yet because the next of kin have not
been notified. Geez, that's awful. So that was the press.
Car shopping can be confusing with terms like dealer price, list, price,
and invoice. True car shows you what other people paid
for the car you want, so you can recognize a
good price when you're ready to buy a new or
(02:02:46):
used car as a true car to enjoy more confident
car buying experience. That's an awful story in the Yeah, okay,
I got no jokes for that. Now there's no jokes. Um,
I'm going to the Cup Dodger game of their hire, right,
we're
