Speaker 1 (00:00):
Ladies and gentlemen, you want experience during your football season,
We'll buckle up, sweet cheeks. What we've got all the
experience in the world. This is I want your flex
with Dan Bayer and Mike Harmon. Mike and Dan break
down everything you need to set your lineups, from position

(00:22):
rankings to starts and sits. The guys help you make
those hard decisions. And now let's get your flexod Here's
Dan Bayer and Mike Harmon.

Speaker 2 (00:33):
Three weeks into the fantasy football season. We hope success
has followed you in one way or another. Guys, it
finally did for me in my long term week. This
week when you're for one on the board, maybe a
little bit more pep in my step, hit Mike up
at Swollen Dome. You can find me at Dan Bayer
on box and you can find Ian Roddy at Ian
Roddy Underscore. Let's dive into it because I think Week

(00:56):
three really ended with a bang, with one heck of
a game between the Lions and raven on Monday Night football.
We can work backwards from there, but on a night
where maybe we remember that Derrick Henry fumble more than
anything else. A lot of the stars. Mike from Detroit
came up big in this contest.

Speaker 3 (01:12):
Yeah, I think one of the overarching things that starts
to flow out of here is anybody against the Ravens,
that defense is terrible.

Speaker 4 (01:22):
They are awful.

Speaker 3 (01:23):
So unless you're playing whatever Tennessee or some of these
other teams, you know, going up against the Ravens, I'm
looking at that defense as what I'm salivating to get
my guys in against.

Speaker 4 (01:35):
Now.

Speaker 3 (01:36):
Obviously Detroit coming off of the highs that they had
in that game against Chicago. You come into this one
the over under, depending on when you got in was
either fifty two or fifty three and a half. So
we know we're going to get some fireworks. But the
operational efficiency, Jared Goff didn't have to do anything otherworldly,
just took advantage of the slots that were there. David

(01:57):
Montgomery running amuck, jamiir Give has himself a big game
like all of that plays. I have some concerns about
the ball security of Derrick Henry back to back weeks
with because he's not going to give us anything in
the passing game. So back to back weeks where we're
looking at a very pedestrian rushing yardage total, and then

(02:19):
we're losing two points off the top for the fumble.
So like now I'm doing a little bit of hand ringing.
It's not to the benching, but he's certainly probably going
to get dropped down into the RB two category with
tremendous upside of course, but again since we're not getting
reception yards and receiving you know, the the easy.

Speaker 4 (02:39):
Point per reception.

Speaker 3 (02:40):
Now, now we start wringing our hands a little bit
because we need to hit a home run with him
on a big carry. Doesn't mean that that won't happen.
But is that going to happen against Kansas City? Probably
not right, agree that they'll bottle him up. And you know,
Mark Andrews owners got rewarded on Monday night. We saw

(03:01):
a little bit Bateman gets the score, but Jay Flowers
is kind of quiet.

Speaker 4 (03:06):
I don't know, it.

Speaker 3 (03:07):
Leaves you a little bit unnerved, right Laar Jackson finishes
as the third highest scoring quarterback for the week, But
I don't know. I mean, Andrews will be top twelve,
but for those receivers, they're WR twos. But the Derrick
Henry thing is really concerning.

Speaker 2 (03:23):
I would say that if the defense is what we've
seen in the first three weeks. It's probably good news
for Lamar Jackson. But even as you talk about Mark
Andrews shows up tonight second touchdown completely garbage time around
Monday Night, I should say that the touchdown there, but again,
he's coming off of a start of the season that
was super slow. So now you're hoping, if you're Jay

(03:46):
Flowers owner, that hey, here's going to be the breakthrough
season maybe for Jay Flowers even a bigger role. And
then tonight drops a nice two catch for thirteen yard performance. Yeah,
it's just hit or miss with the other Ravens targets
and so then if it's not Derrick Henry going, it's
probably going to be all Lamar for that role. But yeah,

(04:09):
an interesting twist tonight. And if you're on the Lions
side of things, I mean, the big three hit with
the Gibbs, Montgomery and I'm on a Ross, Saint Brown
and Jared Goff a nice productive night. But to have
the ground game that the Lions had, gosh, it's got
to be a blueprint for the rest of the NFL.
Not everybody could do what the Lions do. So I
don't want to sound flipping about that because they are

(04:30):
so good upfront and how they run the football. But yeah,
this is going to be interesting to see Baltimore from
this from this point on now at one and two.

Speaker 3 (04:37):
Yeah, past defense, nothing to write home about. Curious to
see Week four against the Chiefs and you know the
Chiefs get their w was a pretty no. But you
know who who in that that offensive set can go
find some and make some hay against that secondary. I mean,
I'm on ross. Saint Brown gave us a great viral

(04:58):
video clip. If you want to talk about a I'd
be in fiery, although it's not safe for work and
probably has a bunch of people outraged.

Speaker 4 (05:05):
But he made a big.

Speaker 3 (05:07):
Play right seven for seventy seven and a score to
give you. But we keep waiting for consistency from Williams
and Laporta, and it's it's not there right now. Right
we're looking at the runner running backs. I mean, golf
two oh two and one, that's not that's not getting
it done. So and you take you're gonna place aman

(05:28):
roh because you're gonna get your targets and your your
easy receptions. You're gonna play your running backs. But for
all of their high point total. There's no consistency enough
to trust the other components right now and that and
that's a really hard thing to say. Yeah, you're scoring
thirty points a game, fantasy wise, get them. No, No,
I can't. I can't trust it.

Speaker 2 (05:50):
Do you think we know bad teams through three weeks
of the season.

Speaker 4 (05:53):
I think I think we're pretty I don't know.

Speaker 3 (05:56):
I think there's a bunch, there might be a couple
where we can still flip a coin on. But I
think we're starting to see enough of a trend.

Speaker 2 (06:06):
That's what I thought too. And I'm looking at these games,
and you know, the Seahawks took care of the Saints
in the first half, and we didn't have expectations for
the Saints. The Raiders were a team that we just
probably felt were overmatched within that division. And the first
three weeks of the season, and you know, Washington comes
out with Marcus Mariota and they can't do anything offensively

(06:28):
and really can't. Well, not everybody's doing everything offensively for
the Raiders. The running game is awful, but the Washington
just comes in and punks them.

Speaker 4 (06:37):
Yeah, I'm feeling bad for that kid.

Speaker 3 (06:39):
By the way, For gents, Yeah, forget about the hot
take nonsense at other distributors and probably some within our
walls of Fox Sports Radio. That offensive line, and we
talked about it before the season, guys, I didn't think
they were going to be very good. I didn't think
they'd be this bad. Yeah, when you can start pointing
out obvious blocking, missed assignments, or no show efforts to

(07:01):
where Genti's getting met four yards in the backfield with regularity.

Speaker 5 (07:05):
I don't think chip Kelly's been particularly good either, And
obviously the offensive line goes into that.

Speaker 3 (07:10):
Yeah, you got to set him up like he had
those quotes the other day, and we joked about it
Ian and I when we got together to do the
podcast Dan as you headed off to shuffle off the
Buffalo for the game, such great stuff and you had
we had all your points of palooza and survivor.

Speaker 2 (07:26):
Picks weren't so great.

Speaker 4 (07:27):
But no, but we'll get to that later.

Speaker 3 (07:29):
But as he and I were talking about it, it's
like chip Kelly's saying, hey, load management, and he's making
the NBA comparison, So it's like, so does that mean
he's getting a big workload here? Like what are we
doing Cuz again you're trying to make some hay and
make your statement in division. That ain't happen unless this
kid's getting some kind of easy touches and easy looks,

(07:53):
whether it's leaking him out. And I get it, he's
had some problems in past protection as a blocker, you
would expect that he hasn't had to do it. But
trying to find some easy runs, some easy way to
get him integrated, they just haven't done it. And that's
a playmaker. You got him, and you got Bowers who's
coming off an injury, and that's it.

Speaker 2 (08:12):
It's and Trey Tucker has been the the star of
the of the Raiders fantasy wise, but it's I mean,
I took genty early in a draft, come in, you know,
first round in a draft, and the Raiders at one
and two have not shown me, especially in the last
two weeks. And no, the Charges are good team. I

(08:33):
just expected a better, better performance again against Washington. But
I just see the Saints, you know, I see the
Raiders in their performance Tennessee. I was expecting more from
this week and just wasn't there. That could be a
growing pains thing. Houston right now seems to be an
absolute mess at at oh to three, and so that's why.
And then you look at Dallas and what Dallas did

(08:55):
against your Bears or what they didn't do or couldn't do.
So now we're looking at these teams, and the Giants
obviously are another bad team. I feel it's pretty early
in the season to have these teams where we're already
looking at and I'm looking at down the line of
being like, wow, this could be it. Ian's Jet's not
one of them. I know people didn't like Aaron Glenn
cheering at the end of that game or the moral

(09:18):
victory portion of it. I get it. It seems like
the culture change there needed to be a one to
eighty and I think that's what this season is all about.
And maybe not all football people like that sort of deal,
but like I could see at least some change there
and some positivity there in other spots. I'm like, man,
you're three weeks in and this season already seems to

(09:39):
be a rap for some of these teams.

Speaker 4 (09:41):
No, I would agree. We had fun, obviously.

Speaker 3 (09:43):
Jason Smith, my partner in the evenings seven to eleven
Pacific on the Fox Sports Radio World, and he just
like I know that doomed it. I'm like, and it's
funny right in hindsight because it was on September twenty first,
So we sync it up with the song. You've heard
it every gathering as certainly every wedding reception, fifteen times,

(10:07):
every karaoke bar, et cetera. Do you remember, and we'll
always run with this. But like it was a big moment,
Like in the fact that you're getting big moments in
your squad, there's so many of these other teams that
we're looking at going Okay, you might have had a play,
you might have had a series, but you didn't have
something that suddenly instilled. All right, there's some juice in

(10:27):
the system. And with the Jets, yeah, they end up
laying an egg on that final possession. And in this
age of field goal kickers, yeah, there were a lot
of blocks, but there's also a lot of guys hitting
fifty plus with great regularity, unlike there had ever been.
So you give up the big thirty one yard return,
it's like, all right, here we go, Like you're set

(10:48):
up for all right, how is this going to end
with Baker Mayfield sticking the sword India? But but you
got juice right, and you got you didn't have big
weapon like Garrett Wilson Breestalt and have big games at all,
but you were still in a position to win this. So,
I mean, you've been watching this misery. I mean we
talked about it on Friday, like you can remember those

(11:09):
title games, and it's been a lot of all right,
what the hell's next? So I mean is it are
we from the outside looking in a little differently than you?

Speaker 4 (11:17):
Ian? Do you actually feel like you're you're on the
path with this guy?

Speaker 5 (11:21):
I'm not. I'm not sure because again week one we
talked about it then even though they lost to Pittsburgh,
I wasn't too upset because they fought till the end
and that that's kind of the important thing here this
season is I don't really care too much about what
the record ends up as it's just how I don't
want to see them fold like they did against Buffalo
in Week two, and they clearly didn't do that against

(11:41):
the Bucks. And yeah, I'm kind of with you, Mike.
When Glenn was dancing on the sideline, it didn't bother
me because he was celebrating a huge play, Like you know,
it's a what it'd be weirder if he was just
blank staying.

Speaker 3 (11:53):
Well, because we got that from Ben Johnson, the blank
stare out that everybody is like, you know, he wants
to just start dancing, but he's not, like, look at him,
he's gonna crack his smiles.

Speaker 5 (12:02):
Yeah, but it was for Glenn. It was a play
to take the lead. It's not like they were still
down on the scoreboard and he was dancing. He's like, no,
they went ahead on the scoreboard, and obviously any Jets
fan looked at the clock and knew what was gonna happen.
But for him, he just watched his guy make a
huge play and it wasn't like this was after the fact.
He was dancing on the sideline as Will McDonald was

(12:22):
running down to the end zone. So I didn't have
an issue with it and.

Speaker 2 (12:25):
There and I was completely fine with that as well.
There was a clip as they were walking the shake
hands on the sideline.

Speaker 5 (12:32):
That was a little worse.

Speaker 2 (12:33):
I but I don't think that's bad. You don't mean
it's team like they just lost on a last second
field goal. You're not going to the playoffs this year.
How do you tell your team that you're trying to
build something and make it not be the same old
Jets anymore. And I think this is actually a good
comparison to what we see right now in the the
like in the National Football League, because I don't know

(12:56):
if you're if you're a Dallas Cowboy now you don't
have Ceedee Lamb and you have the Pack are smarting
coming into town and the Micah Parsons reunion. There's not
a lot of hope there, and there may not be
a lot of hope at Owen three, but at least
you're you're you're trying to show that you're trying to
build something. And that's what I just I it's not

(13:17):
the same old Jets like and three with the Jets
isn't the same as Owen three with the Saints right
now or where the Cowboys are, Like, I think that
these are teams in different spots. But on three of
the Jets is different than the ONW three of the Texans. Yeah,
right now.

Speaker 4 (13:31):
So that's what we had expectations, right, We had expectations.
I mine were muted, but not that they'd be this bad. Yeah, right.
I didn't think they'd run away and hide.

Speaker 3 (13:43):
I thought the division again I thought Tennessee would be better.

Speaker 2 (13:47):
Yep.

Speaker 4 (13:47):
And they're an abject.

Speaker 3 (13:48):
Failure at this point, and that kid's gonna get killed
before before we gate at this point the way they're playing.
But something Smith and I did, uh, and like he
vacations in Detroit, and I think some of it is
kissing the asses of family members. But Aaron Glenn was
part of what they were doing in Detroit, and I
see similarities just from the all right, we're building from

(14:11):
the ground up. Go back to the first year that
Campbell and I know a lot's been written about the
kneecaps or whatever. That's cool, and that's part of it,
but it was also they took their lumps that first year,
like they got their ass in, but they fought right.
It's like whatever happened with Brian Flores down in Miami,
they fought for him that year. And you're seeing that

(14:34):
for Aaron Glenn. Now, does it mean wins and losses
year one or even year two. No, But if you
stay the course, and that's where Woody Johnson needs to
just get the hell out of the way, right And
this is where in Detroit they could have very easily
sent him packing. All right, He talked nuts and then
they didn't win at all, but they let it build,
and by year three he had a team that every Sunday,

(14:56):
we're just kicking everybody's ass.

Speaker 5 (14:58):
It's perfectly said.

Speaker 3 (15:00):
Right, And and in that Eastern Division, who are you scared?
I mean the Bills are good, but I mean they're
they're interesting.

Speaker 2 (15:07):
Right.

Speaker 3 (15:08):
We're watching a little bit of a shift of how
they're playing more more run game, more complimentary with a
lot of passing options. And Josh Allen's in your eight
right eventually. I mean that's the scary thing. And it
made me feel really old today. Dan, as we were
watching Lamar Jackson on Monday night. You're probably all listening
to this very early Tuesday. Is that it's your eight

(15:31):
for Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen and those guys. It's like,
I got old, fast man. And then I looked in
the mirror and I saw the gray hairs. I saw
the patch that there is no hair, sunken eyes.

Speaker 2 (15:43):
It's like, ah, what's funny. My mirror gives me two chins,
So I don't know what's up with that. Yeah, these
these mirrors. We got to get a new mirror. Yeah,
that's it.

Speaker 4 (15:52):
That's it. House of mirrors. We're taking a group visits.

Speaker 2 (15:55):
Yeah, it's not us, it's those stupid mirrors. Now it is. Yeah,
time is running out. And when you look at it now,
you see the Chiefs and you think, like, Okay, Kansas
City's finally susceptible. Who's there to take the rain? And
all of a sudden you see the Chargers starting to
be uncharged. Like so, if you're the Ravens and Bills
and trying to break through in those notions, you're like, oh, okay,

(16:17):
maybe maybe we got more cut out for us than
we'll think. But we've got Chiefs Ravens. As Mike mentioned
coming up in week four, we still have a lot
of Week three to look at here on I want
your flex. What stood out? Could there be a change
with the Giants and what that could mean for certain players?
I know certain elite neighbors owners are hoping as such.
But a lot still to unpack here about the week

(16:38):
that was in the National Football League. He's Mike Krmen,
that's Ian Roddy. I'm Dan Bayer that's next here, and
I want your Flex. Week three is in the rear
view mirror. He's Mike Karmen. I'm Dan Bayer, that's Ian Roddy.
We look back at what stood out from Week three.
Week three started in Buffalo. As you guys mentioned, I

(16:59):
missed the last pot because it went to the Bills
Dolphins game on Thursday night. And amazing atmosphere at Heimark Stadium,
and we've talked about this on the pod. I just
wanted to go and see the stadium in all of
its old school glory for the first and only time.
Is then now move across the streets to the new facility,

(17:19):
and guys, it lived up to everything that I could
have hoped. The unique atmosphere, the unique location of the stadium,
just everything about it was unique. And I grew up
about Now that the four lane is in and the
speed limit is up, it's a little shorter, but growing up,

(17:40):
I was about two to two and a half hours
away from Green Bay, and the Packers' sort of culture
is different than all of the other NFL teams. Buffalo's
the closest that I've seen to that. Not the same,
not identical, but a great atmosphere, a great game turning
out to be. Thanks to the Dolphin for being competitive,

(18:01):
and thanks for Tua for throwing the interception that kind
of sealed the deal. But it was, yeah, everything I
would have hoped for, and so glad I made the
trip to Buffalo. Fantasy wise, it's you know, Josh Allen
and James Cook doing their damage as they did. Tyreek
Kill gets into the end zone. But the stat line

(18:21):
wasn't huge for the Dolphins that game, but just a
good football game on Thursday night to get the week going,
and so lucky to be in Buffalo.

Speaker 3 (18:27):
All right, so tailgating, I mean, I'm assuming you didn't
go through a table. I didn't get any notes from
a hospital or a medical facility.

Speaker 2 (18:36):
No, there was none of that.

Speaker 3 (18:37):
Okay, but what like did you tailgate with folks? Did
you you know ingratiate yourself with the bills faithful there
or or find something unique in the stands.

Speaker 2 (18:46):
So it was interesting because the stadium is in a
spot where we parked on a road that was probably
about a mile maybe a mile and a half away
from the stadium. So you walk and you navigate that
and it's just people parking in yards, people parking in areas,

(19:07):
and music's going and people are hanging out. Very natural
football college like atmosphere. There's not like Lot twenty Lot
twenty one. There were lots at the stadium for sure,
but it wasn't this expansive area where it was just
all parking lot. It was neighborhood around it and was
really convenient. There were no tables mic but I think

(19:29):
I took a picture there was a Buffalo beer bong
or something or another that someone had out there. Again,
this is a Thursday night game. People had to go
to work on Friday. Saw some guy in an OJ
and Nicole T shirt. I threw that one up on Instagram.
I think I sent that to you guys. Well it was, yeah,
just the stuff that you would see with Bill's Mafia.

(19:53):
All lived up to the expectations. And I'll say this too.
Their fan base is very young. And what I like,
there's the twenty and thirty year olds that live in
that area like this is their this is their pro
and college team. And that's what was so surprising. And
it's not that twenty and thirty year olds don't like

(20:15):
football and don't love football. It's that there are so
many of them, and so many of them are committed
to going to the game. And that's what I thought was,
you know, surprising, because let's face it, NFL games aren't cheap,
and to see the amount of young people at the
game and have their passion for the Bills the whole area,
like that's all it is. It's just Bills, Bills, Bills, Bills, Bills.

(20:40):
The Friday noon broadcast broke in or it started with
the Bill's game from last night. They then said, let's
go to the podium. Sean McDermott is now speaking. They
took that live and then they came back and they
played more Sean McDermott from the last night, like it's
only a thirty minute newscast, the first eight minutes where

(21:01):
about the Bills went over the Dolphins the night before.
So it was yeah, it was crazy.

Speaker 4 (21:05):
It was a great time though, That's fantastic. I love it. Yeah,
I'm so good for you getting out there.

Speaker 2 (21:12):
Yeah, it's been a while since I've been to, you know,
just been to an NFL regular season game, and it
was just it was it was fun Thursday night, which
helped as well, guys, because there weren't other games that
I was missing, so I could see what was happening
on Sunday during the contest but Bills Dolphins was all
that could be cracked up.

Speaker 4 (21:31):
To be fantastic stuff. I dig it.

Speaker 2 (21:33):
What stood up for you in week three?

Speaker 3 (21:35):
Well, I mean, first off, obviously Caleb Williams coming in
as your number one quarterback. Now we expected success against Dallas,
but you know at a fleet flickered a little bit
of chaos. So we get some of that fun right
off the jump when we go down the quarterback position
that Marcus, Mariota and Washington played as well as they did,
and this week they get the Atlanta squad that I

(21:56):
don't know which end is up. I kill your took
the sword though, Yeah, your wide receiver coach gets fired.
Really really, that's the guy that has to wear it.
Another big day for Drake may Baker Mayfield top ten,
all finding good to Rod Taylor going back to the Jets,
he finishes the top ten. So those are kind of

(22:19):
the quick standouts there. I think when we look at
the running back position, just a bunch of different names
finding their way up into the mix, some of the
old faithful, right, we get a nice Jonathan Taylor effort,
and David Montgomery and Jamier Gibbs both finished top five.
We've already talked about them, but we add Amarion Hampton

(22:42):
and with no nause Harris. Now for the rest of
the year, we start to see a little bit of
that Harbaugh shift to where now he's got his feature back.
I'm sure he's spent a lot of times in front
of a mirror on pass bro to make sure the
fair haired boy justin Herbert stays upright. But the other
guy will just highlight here is camp Scantabo. Giants suck.

(23:03):
I mean, they're they're terrible, But if I'm gonna get
fifteen plus touches out of him, he's like the Juggernaut
from the X Men series, guy with the metal helmet on,
running through walls like that. That's that's where we're at,
and he's now a folk hero. But for fantasy purposes,
forget about Tracy. He's gonna catch a couple of balls

(23:23):
out of the backfield.

Speaker 4 (23:24):
Whatever.

Speaker 3 (23:24):
Here's your guy, short yardage, goal line and just rumbling
up the middle. That's your next level stuff.

Speaker 2 (23:31):
So yeah, Tyrone Tracy too, is that guy that you
looked at in the draft and thought, Tyron Tracy is
still available, so you brought him in and it was
like you, oh, he's gonna be the starting back there
and three weeks in now he's got a dissocated shoulder.
And as he said, scatterboos the folk hero in New York.
And for as bad as they may be, I don't

(23:52):
like the tyrone. Tracy train is going to be returning
to the station anytime soon.

Speaker 4 (23:57):
And it's tough.

Speaker 3 (23:58):
He was a guy that had a nice year last year,
and unfortunately it was the fall guy because he had
to keep getting compared to Saquon Barkley after his departure,
had a nice year as a runner and receiver, and
now he's broken.

Speaker 4 (24:13):
Good job, Giants, No, I'm just kidding Ian.

Speaker 2 (24:15):
What stood up for you?

Speaker 5 (24:17):
Well, there were a few things. I mean one of them,
Marvin Harrison Junior. I'm starting to feel really bad for
him because you know, you saw that video of him
getting emotional almost in the in the locker room after
and it's just he was supposed to be so good
and I just don't know what's going on here. I
don't know if he has the yips or or what.
But I mean that pass play that he dropped, it

(24:39):
was wide open. It would have been a seventy yard touchdown,
right because because it has the fallout then of one
you lose the game. But also everybody that does box
score reading goes after Kyler Murray, so it perpetuates that
cycle too well.

Speaker 2 (24:52):
I'll also say this with Harrison. It's the there have
been receivers that have taken their eye off the ball
because they want on a run and score. Usually top
level wide receivers don't do that. Fred Warner on his track,
I'm not making excuses. I'm just trying to figure out
how in the world does Marmon Harrison Junior dropped the ball?
And then the most damning thing was there was another

(25:13):
shot into the end zone that they took and it
was an acrobatic sort of play guys, but he got
his hands on it and didn't come down with it,
and it was it was where you're like, okay, wait
a second here. The first one you could say that's
just maybe bad form, just looked away and whatever. But
now you're like, there wasn't a bounce back from that.

(25:36):
There wasn't like I'm going to make up for that
and make that sort of play.

Speaker 4 (25:39):
Dan.

Speaker 5 (25:39):
Yeah, like as as amazing of a catch as that
would have been, Like that's the type of play that
a superstar first round pick wide receiver has to make. Yeah,
and a league neighbors would have made it. And the
league neighbors was drafted after him in the same draft class.

Speaker 2 (25:53):
Yeah, there's something going on there, and I don't know
what it is. I don't know if it's his relationship
with Kyler Murray. I thought was okay. After week one, guys,
I was saying, yeah, I think this is real promising.
And now now we're fourteen fifteen days later and I'm like, oh,
I'm with you. I'm with you. Ian on that one,
that was tough.

Speaker 5 (26:11):
And then the other one that I had, Quinchawn Judkins
for the Browns. I mean, I think he had eighteen
carries and the next most was like one carry for
whoever at the next.

Speaker 4 (26:21):
Time, welcome to the party.

Speaker 5 (26:22):
Yeah, he's he's the guy, and that's that's noteworthy.

Speaker 2 (26:25):
That was quite a win. And Mike, I know, as
a Bears fan, you love to see that happened to
Green Bay.

Speaker 4 (26:31):
Couldn't do a better squad.

Speaker 2 (26:35):
But like even on the green Bay side of things,
now you're kind of saying to yourself, all right, starting
to hear some little Jordan love chatter. The Matthew Golden
experience hasn't been what people thought. I'm curious Cleveland's got
a good defense, but there's no way Green Bay should
have lost that game. And now some of the big

(26:57):
name guys that you would have for the Packers maybe
not showing up as much. Josh Jacobs held pretty much
in check on Sunday.

Speaker 3 (27:03):
Yeah, that's the hard part, right, is that without that
go to guy and Tucker Craft being hurt played but diminished,
that you're trying to figure out look defense stacks against Jacobs.
You got to be able to find one of these
how many wide receivers are they running out at this point?

Speaker 2 (27:21):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (27:22):
Remember that graphic last last year. It's like, all right,
here's the second slide of guys with three hundred receiving
yards or more, but that you're going to find to
go to somewhere in that Cleveland d and boy, that
was just a rough slog to lose that way.

Speaker 4 (27:39):
And for Jordan Love.

Speaker 3 (27:40):
Still completing sixty eight percent of his past is five
to one touchdown to inner interception, but overall six hundred
and sixty three yards, that's hardly overwhelming. And for our
purposes here in the fantasy world, that leaves you as
QB fourteen or fifteen most days?

Speaker 2 (27:57):
Are we are we completely now bought in on the
Colts as offensive gold for fantasy? I mean, Jonathan Taylor's
the top running back in the game. Indiana, Indiana Jones,
Danny Dimes, whatever we want to call him, is again
producing on what is a modest day, but still gets

(28:19):
you a touchdown pass, has some yards rushing. Like, are
we sold now on the Colts as fantasy gold? They've
got the Rams, Raiders and Cardinals in the next three weeks.

Speaker 3 (28:31):
Yeah, I mean we look at him for this week.
Daniel Jones still finished as a back end QB one,
still slightly ahead of Justin Herbert, always going to make
plays with his legs and that drop off way we
had Williams, Hurts and Jackson with Gino Smith and his
comeback effort pretty high, and then there's a little bit
of gap, you know, three four points to the next

(28:51):
level and then another three to the back end of
the QB ones. But so long as he's upright and
making plays with his legs. Again, I week to week
picking which wide receiver is gonna give him big returns,
I think he's gonna be a difficult proposition for you
as you go through. Except for Tyler Warren fourteen catches

(29:12):
on his twenty one Pittman's benefficient sixteen of nineteen with
the two scores downs ten or fourteen, But those are
more wr three hoping for the upside as you pick
through it, like Alec Pierce the injury, but nine to
thirteen one seventy one for him too. So I mean,
the big play threats are all around, but I think
you're throwing darts to try to figure out which one

(29:34):
is going to be your top performer outside of Warren,
but even though he hasn't found the end zone yet.
But all of that to say, you've got chances rams defense.
You can go after their corners, right, we saw that,
Not that you have the same necessarily the same level
of skill that you have with an aj brown but

(29:54):
you can get after them a little bit over unders
up at forty eight for this one.

Speaker 2 (29:59):
What Aboutinnati. I'm the thing with Jake Browning is you
know he's throwing interceptions and he threw two more and
had one taken back for the score. But yeah, what
at what point does it just pile on so much?
I mean, no, one. No one did anything, and I
think the Vikings were probably smarting off of what happened

(30:21):
on Sunday night. Tough spot with the backup coming in.
But I mean to think when you drafted your Bengals
of Jamar Chase likely number one overall, T Higgins with
decent value, and Chase Brown, who I raved about his
draft value.

Speaker 4 (30:37):
Yea, And I took catch swings on that.

Speaker 3 (30:40):
He's barely falling forward Dan, Yeah, he's averaging two yards
of carry.

Speaker 4 (30:45):
Six foot right.

Speaker 2 (30:46):
Yeah, look at look at these next four weeks for
Cincinnati at Denver, Monday night football home against the Lions
at Green Bay, then a short weekend home against the Steelers.
There's not a lot of promise in that stretch right now,
and then you're just wondering how quickly it goes downhill
if they don't right their wrongs.

Speaker 4 (31:07):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (31:08):
I mean, the one thing is I guess he keeps
winging it and you're not facing Brian.

Speaker 4 (31:12):
Flores every week.

Speaker 3 (31:13):
But all that said, the four opponents you just mentioned,
they're all what top twelve defense, No slouch. Michaeh Parson
is gonna.

Speaker 2 (31:24):
Yeah you go, Aiden Hutchinson, Micah Parsons and TJ.

Speaker 3 (31:29):
Watt against a terrible offensive line yep, with a backup
quarterback who's just going to force the issue, which might
give you a jail break opportunity or two. But overall, yeah,
it's a losing proposition.

Speaker 5 (31:43):
Would you guys rather have Jamar Chase or Brian Thomas Junior?
Right now?

Speaker 3 (31:48):
I think Chase will still catch the ball if it
gets in his near his hands.

Speaker 4 (31:52):
Look what I did there.

Speaker 2 (31:54):
Although Thomas had the big catch he did Mexs game.

Speaker 3 (31:58):
That's the thing, right, He's he'll give you this spectacular
and then there's a couple and you're just like, really,
because I had those problems last year too, So.

Speaker 2 (32:07):
I think I think that one's more likely to work
itself out in Jacksonville. But I'd still side with Jamar Chase.
I just don't know what's gonna I just don't know
what's gonna happen with the Bengals. And here here we're
talking about a team that's two and one.

Speaker 3 (32:20):
Yeah, so well, but a little bit of smoking mirrors
perhaps in terms of look, they won those games years
past under this regime. We know how terrible September's have been.
They've done the Bill Belichick model without the.

Speaker 4 (32:35):
W's for September. Ryderc We're gonna.

Speaker 2 (32:38):
Learn Andre Schmidt makes a field goal. If he does
in week one, then maybe the Bengals lose that game
and then the Jaguar, you know, Burrow gets hurt, but
Jake Browning scores at the end of the game and
takes take victory. There.

Speaker 3 (32:53):
What's weird is Thomas seven catches, twenty five targets, had
ten yards, Right.

Speaker 2 (33:00):
That's the most glaring thing when you just see guys
not on the same page.

Speaker 5 (33:03):
Yeah, that Trevor's trying to get him the ball. If
there's twenty five targets, he's actively making it a point
to try and get it to him and just not
having any success.

Speaker 3 (33:13):
Yeah, it's funny looking at the rest of the distribution,
just to finish it real quick, Dan Strange, Washington, and
Hunter all with sixteen targets, Diomi Brown with fourteen, so
spreading around, but certainly still looking at Tomas first and foremost.

Speaker 2 (33:28):
Seems to be their running game, maybe ahead of anything,
but I'm not sure how great that was. Etn's touchdown
run was basically given to them by the Texans, so
Houston could get this score back. But yeah, interesting times
with Jacksonville. I thought there would be more Jacksonville in
week three. One of the few things that we will
grade ourselves on, it's report card time. Plus Mike Carmon's

(33:50):
got some waiver wire info for you. We're going to
take a time out, but all that's next here on
I want your flex all right, report card time that
Mike Scott Waiverwire. Mike, how did you do in week
three with the hot plays, cold soars in the rankings?

Speaker 3 (34:04):
We had some hits, some wild misses, and a lot
of hand ringing along the way. Mentioned Baker Mayfield. He
was at the back end of the top top rankings.
He was eighth. So we'll give ourselves a nice solid
C minus their quarterback position, I mean Lamar Jackson's third.

(34:25):
We had him first, Dak. Once CD went down, well
that was the end of their scoring. And that red
zone interception. If you were an over underbetter Dak Prescott
is a four letter word right now. So that's that.
Jalen Hurts I was completely wrong about. I pushed him
down and for three quarters I look like a genius,

(34:46):
and then the fourth quarter happened and that was the
end of that. But isn't that the way it goes.
It's the old Barry Sanders logic. Ay one negative one
zero zero zero fifty nine at a touchdown. See he
was number one. It's like no, no, I called it right.
We had Jonathan Taylor in our top five. Of course,

(35:06):
Derrick Henry screwed us once again, so I don't know
that we'll be ranking him anytime soon.

Speaker 4 (35:11):
He needs to get back into my good graces.

Speaker 3 (35:15):
GiB McCaffrey as a pass catcher while he finished twelfth
in terms of Fantasy scoring, I'm taking the victory lap
because everybody's coming on board.

Speaker 4 (35:23):
To my he's going to be used as a wide receiver.
Bit he had fifteen targets.

Speaker 3 (35:28):
Okay, I mean we're talking a guy that we're gonna
see a lot of over the course of the run.
The wide receiving position absolutely disastrous. I had Drake London
as a top five guy. I should be, I don't know,
forced to run a couple of miles or go through
a couple of tables in Buffalo. The hot plays. Who

(35:49):
do we have well, Caleb Williams. Of course we take
the victory there. Jordan Mason will take the win. Devonte
Adams give us big returns early. Not so much for
Za Flowers and for the aforementioned Jared goff Nay and
Daniel Jones is like forever cemented in the I Love
Him and the Cold Stares. Like I said, Big miss

(36:12):
On Hurts and Nico Collins found the end zone. We
were right, Jenti did not account for much for us.
And Chase Brown again, I don't think I get to
talk about him anymore.

Speaker 4 (36:25):
Maybe if I take him off the list, he'll do
something for us.

Speaker 3 (36:28):
Quick Ninja report, a little bit from Jalen Waddle, and.

Speaker 4 (36:35):
I don't know. I think that's enough. I took enough
l's this week, fellows, how'd you do?

Speaker 2 (36:40):
I'm gonna load up on the LS myself, and then
I'll love Ian check in with the streaming defenses because
I think we actually got some w's in that one.
I took an L on my points of Palooza because
I thought maybe Texans and Jaguars could turn into something.
It never did except at the end, where I even
just mentioned previously that the Texans allowed the Jaguars to
score the end, which even put that point total at

(37:02):
twenty seven. They wanted to get the ball back to
prevent the Jaguars from just running out the clock and
kicking a Feld goal. So I missed on the points
of palooza. The streaming, not the streaming. The survivor picks
that I had this week, I got those right, But
it was the games that I told you to stay
away from. Told you to stay away from the Colts,
told you to stay away from the Buccaneers. Was almost

(37:24):
right with that Buccaneers play with the Jets. I just
thought that they would play better in that scenario. Ultimately,
Tampa gets a win and you survive. But I did
like the Seahawks. A lot of people like the Seahawks,
and that game was over by halftime, and I didn't
think the Chiefs would lose again, or their third straight,
at least to start the season. And the reason I
liked Kansas City and that survivor spot was because of

(37:47):
their schedule. We talked about the Ravens game next week.
There aren't going to be a lot of opportunities where
you look at the Chiefs and say, yeah, that's a
surefire win, something that we haven't been able to do
in a while. But that's why the Chiefs were I
think a good pick for a survivor, but not a
lot of chaos outside of the Green Bay upset by
the Cleveland Browns and survivor picks. In Week three, Ian,

(38:09):
how'd you do on streaming defenses?

Speaker 5 (38:11):
Yeah, so we'll start with the worst one. That was
the Falcons, But even despite them getting totally blown out
by the Panthers, they still got you five points for
the defense thanks to a sack and a fumble recovery
that they had, so you know, we'll take that. Not
too bad. And then really good for the other two.
The Colts I told you to get They got you

(38:31):
sixteen points. They allowed twenty points, but they got a
pick six, four sacks, and blocked a field goal. So
that was a really really positive week for the Colts.
And then the last one was the Buccaneers. Told you
to start them against my Jets, and they did get
you sixteen points with a pick six, a fumble recovery,
and four sacks. So pretty successful week for the defenses.

Speaker 2 (38:53):
And I mentioned this during my Sunday show and I
mentioned it again on Fox on Monday. But kudos to
FO for putting Bucco Bruce on the graphic on screen
against the Jets. They're wearing the throwbacks. You gotta put
that grad damn right, and they did.

Speaker 5 (39:08):
I really did like that.

Speaker 2 (39:10):
These the Patriots were playing the Steelers with their throwbacks,
the pat Patriot helmet, and CBS had the great NFL
Today intro with Brent Musburger. They were doing everything throwback
and then you turn on Steelers Patriots, and the Patriots
logo is the flying Elvis. I was so disappointed in
seeing that, but kudos to Fox for coming through with

(39:32):
Bucko Bruce.

Speaker 3 (39:33):
So we had Bucco Bruce and I gotta say the
Musburger and the old looking set in the silly or whatever.

Speaker 4 (39:41):
I gotta chuckle.

Speaker 3 (39:42):
Did I sit and watch it front out, No, but
I gave it a couple of minutes. I smiled and said,
good for them, and good to see Brent out there.

Speaker 2 (39:50):
I got chills when they did the you are looking long?

Speaker 3 (39:53):
Oh yeah, yes, it was such a throwback to kids,
like that was the open like where are they gonna start?

Speaker 4 (40:00):
Which which game is the feature?

Speaker 2 (40:02):
And they did it in the nineteen seventy five format,
where like if you did in the eighties, you would
have the helmet graphics pop up. You know how much
I love those of course, but that was just the
one thing that I wish we could have seen, like
we could have seen a Titans and Colt's helmet when
they went to Nissan Stadium, but they just had it
on the graphic. But still I got chills seeing it

(40:23):
and watching it, and they had the old intro. It was.
It was great. It was really great stuff by CBS.

Speaker 4 (40:29):
So always enjoy the little throwbacks. That's good stuff.

Speaker 2 (40:32):
Yeah it was, and you got it on your past
because all of these pregame shows right now wouldn't be
where they are without the NFL. Today, let's dive into
waiver wire Week four. An interesting week because we start
with a rivalry matchup. Yeah, we'll have the rivalry uniforms
with the Seahawks and Cardinals.

Speaker 4 (40:51):
Did you buy weapon?

Speaker 2 (40:53):
No, but you know what, I did buy a Bill's
rivalry helmet because it was in the team store, so
I bought that. I do have that that's with their
iced out sort of look. But I haven't got the
Seahawks one. But the Seahawks Cardinals wearing their rivalry uniforms,
and we got an I was gonna say a London
game in Ireland game on Sunday morning, with the Vikings

(41:14):
and Steelers. But let's look ahead the week four Mike
with some waiver wire right.

Speaker 3 (41:18):
And early for that one. Yeah, let's go all right.
First off, we mentioned Camp Scatamo. It's still available at
about thirty percent of leagues as we speak, So get
those waiver wire claims in Judkins about the same right,
Folks trying to figure out exactly the pecking order there.
We talk about Daniel Jones and his early run. Folks
reticent to climb on board, yet still available in about a

(41:40):
third of leagues. Obviously, I'm looking at the largesse of
the Yahoo system as as I go through this before
waivers clearing and starting to go down the list. Trey
Benson owing to that Thursday night affair against Seattle with
the James Connor injury. How many people had shares in
James this guy? Did I get him cheaply?

Speaker 1 (42:03):
Yes?

Speaker 4 (42:03):
Because people thought he was gonna break Guess what he broke?
He broke, he broke.

Speaker 3 (42:07):
So now Trey Benson gets that opportunity. He's available about
half of league, so he can go out and find him.
Right now, we've seen some good returns early on Fan
and Junior is still on the list of guys that
were getting in the target count. I have no idea
what returns we're ever going to get from Atlanta, But
you're getting targets from Darnell Mooney now that he's healthy.

Speaker 4 (42:29):
What those translate to?

Speaker 3 (42:30):
I have no idea. And how long before Kirk Cousins
is their quarterback another question that needs to be answered,
but we'll keep an eye on that as we go.

Speaker 2 (42:41):
That would be story. What a story that would be,
you know, I mean seriously, And I don't know if
it just got out of hand and they're like, because
it was out of hand, sure, like, let's just make
sure that that Pennix is okay. But they looked good.
But they look good when they're running the football. And
it's unfortunate to me because I expected more, know how
high I was on Pennix entering the season, and it

(43:03):
was an absolute stinker, turning the ball over twice, only
completing fifty percent of his passes. We knew that he
wasn't a runner, so he wasn't going to be, you know,
providing much in the running game. But yeah, just an
next absolute clunker for the Falcons who are not one
and two.

Speaker 3 (43:16):
Yeah, it didn't help that you fire one kicker for another.
He has one game and then comes right back and
absolutely sabotages any of the efforts you did have. So
back to the drawing board there. I'm just more looking
at it from the question of all right, do you
still have the same expectations like the Falcons and Arthur

(43:37):
Blank and the world at large, or are you looking
at what's the start of the season? Is that it's
now the all right, we just have to slug it
out and have our growing pains with him.

Speaker 2 (43:47):
That's good. Yeah, it could be an easy walk for
the Buccaneers in that division as well.

Speaker 3 (43:54):
Now yeah, no, that's it right, all right, So you
got Troy Franklin with the Broncos aomen there in Tennessee
again targets opportunity.

Speaker 4 (44:05):
How many red zone opportunities are we going to get?
I don't know. I mean it's the jail break.

Speaker 5 (44:10):
Sam Ort's top guy, He's targeting him way more.

Speaker 3 (44:12):
No, But that's just it, right, Like the opportunities are there.
What it translates to, and that's all we can play to, right,
Like what we're seeing in terms of schemes and where
the reliance and confidence in a player to go make
a play, and we've certainly seen that through three weeks
for him, the more curious if you want to go
deeper down the wire, I mean trade Tuckers should already

(44:35):
be owned just based on his share count through three weeks,
but he's still unowned in a lot of leagues. And
then selfishly, I would be remiss if I didn't get
Luther Burden in there, just if they're gonna and I
know it was Dallas and it's something Greg co Sell
and I talked about Sunday.

Speaker 4 (44:51):
Before it even started to go.

Speaker 3 (44:53):
All you do is just do what Russ Wilson did
in Week two, right, just throw it up and let
somebody go get it. And that's exactly what they did
early and often. Unfortunately you don't play the Cowboys every week,
but a matchup here against the Raiders, I would be
remiss if on the other side, and I know it's
tough he had a huge Week three in the l

(45:13):
but Gino Smith against that Bears defense.

Speaker 2 (45:16):
Could be a fun one. Mike. I think maybe you
got to go to Vegas for that.

Speaker 3 (45:19):
Uh, I'm gonna get a go fund yourself together. Part
of me really wants to right get off air and
hop a plane.

Speaker 4 (45:29):
And just do it.

Speaker 3 (45:31):
I'm trying to convince my brothers because going alone just
would not be sure.

Speaker 2 (45:35):
And you guys are going, you're gonna be going to
the Baltimore game later.

Speaker 3 (45:38):
On that that is currently scheduled unless something strange appened
schedule wise, but yeah, we are. We are slated to
go try to take over Baltimore. Look, they don't play
any defense either right now, so so that could be
another fifty plus over under.

Speaker 2 (45:54):
I was gonna say, hopefully your plans aren't fumbled like
Dereck Henry. We'll end on that. All right. That's it
for week three. We'll be back with another episode this week,
plus our week four preview. Yeah, so a couple more
for you. So for I and Roddy, our executive producer,
and Mike Carmen, I'm Dan Byer. This is I want
