Doug tells you why head coaching is so important in the NFL and it showed in Mike McCarthy’s mismanagement in the Packers loss last night on TNF. With the tight NFL playoff race, this Sunday feels like Moving Day to Doug for teams like the Cowboys and Falcons on the outside looking in. Doug dives into the tension within the Warriors team and why it should worry Draymond Green and his future with the team. Former NFL Scout John Middlekauff joins the show to talk Warriors and talks about what the Packers should do to get back on track this season.

of course, plays Chicago Bears, previously with New York Giants.
John Middlecoff will join us UH, former scout in the NFL,
the host of the Three and Out podcast, Rob Riggle

(01:03):
will be our guest. Dude, what would we just load
up with? Get back end? I just asked questions? Rob
Riggles gonna be our guest. Daniel Jeremiah's our guest, Joel
Class our guest, and we got my picks, which have
been fantastic in college football. NFL picks are fine, College
foall picks have been amazing, simply amazing. Uh, no blood

(01:24):
last night right because of a three point spread? Is
that correct? I had? I do believe I had the
Packers straight up. To be honest with you, I had
the Packers straight up, and so I lost. Um, somebody
else had the Packers. I think it was Romost may
have had the Packers. Oh it's music. You had the Packers.
But you had the Packers. But there was no blood
because you did not say packers straight up. You just

(01:44):
said packers to cover. So I got your back their music.
Everybody else, even you'd only lose the vig. I lost
it all because I put packers straight up. But it's
not out of frustration that I go on this rant.
I it's not, and it's with full admittance that time

(02:05):
Montgomery simply takes a knee in the end zone, the
Packers are in a different place, if you know, you
look at a couple of fun two straight weeks of
untimely fumbles, and they had Mason Crosby issues in one
of their games, and they got a tie game against
the Minister. Like you go all these things together, and

(02:27):
right now the Packers are looking like a payoff playoff pretender,
not a playoff contender, and one that might get the
head coach fired. And it's not that the Packers decided
to not go for it on fourth and two last night.
It honestly is not. And you're like, no, that that's

(02:49):
exactly what I don't know. It's honestly that has not
that that is not really the reason that head coaching matters.
But it does matter because of the answer that Mike
McCarthy gave to us. See, Mike McCarthy said that the
numbers told him and they went by the numbers. That's

(03:12):
by the numbers. Well that's what the math says. And
yet all the numbers guys are like, yeah, we didn't
come up with that one at all, right, Like nov now,
that's not really actually even close to being accurate. And
if you wanted to say that Seattle had already uh
had already punted twice in the second half, they had

(03:36):
scored in their previous drive at seven place, seventy five
yard drive to take the lead. And if you wanted
to say that the Green Bay Packers, it only managed
eight yards, and that not getting a first down at
your own thirty three yard line was sure sure, sure
death right, because now a sudden Seattle is already in

(03:57):
field goal range, and you know it's not even best
or worst case scenario. A reasonable scenario is they hold
the ball for a couple of minutes and then they
kick a field goal and you're down six. You gotta
score a touchdown. That's not a terrible scenario. But if
you want to sit there and say, hey, look, we
hadn't even moved it yet. We had only scored a

(04:17):
field goal in the second half. We didn't feel great
about how our offense was playing, and we felt pretty
good about our defensive ability to get one stop against
the Seahawks. It is just a gut field thing. This
is just me challenging my defense to get a stop
to get the ball back to Aaron Rodgers. If you

(04:38):
wanted to go with that, I could go with that.
If you wanted to say that the numbers were based
upon being at your own thirty three yard line field
position wise didn't seem like a wise move. But when
you say the numbers, you're talking about football analytics. Oh,

(05:00):
to the numbers, like, no one's gonna check the numbers. Yeah,
we're gonna check your work. Reminds me of like math class.
And he's just like, all of a sudden, the kid
goes from having ds and fs to getting an A like, yeah,
we're gonna do more than just run the scantron. We're gonna,
all right, we're gonna we're gonna see how you came

(05:22):
upon the magic pencil. That that's the thing that sets
off alarms with the testing, with the testing folks for
the s A T. I don't know if you guys
remember this, Like Derrick Rose famously took his s A
T in Detroit even though he's from Chicago. Couldn't pass
the s a You know, you couldn't take the s

(05:42):
A T in your hometown. Lamar Odom didn't pass the
s A T in New York. Then all of a sudden,
he flies out to Lynnwood High School in l A
and magically passes the s A T. Al Right, yeah,
we're gonna we're gonna check that one. We're gonna have
you take the test again. We're gonna kind of figure
this thing out. It's Mike McCarthy telling us the numbers
told me, that's almost like saying, uh, just handing somebody

(06:05):
a resume and pretending that they're gonna skim over it.
And you saying you went to Harvard and we're not
gonna make a call. All We're gonna make one call. Yeah,
nobody named Gottli went to Harvard. Well are somebody would
name Gottleib went to Harvard, But not that Doug Gotley
went to Harvard. It's not one little thing, it's the

(06:27):
whole thing. It just is. And is it unfair? Probably?
I mean he told he told Time Montgomery. They told
Time Montgomery, under no uncertain circumstances, do you want to
bring the ball out of the end zone? He did,
He fumbled, and they had pulled Time Montgomery from the
previous series after missing a block that ended up in

(06:49):
a sack. They like Aaron Jones, and they've given Aaron
Jones the football more here late in the season. But
it's not like it's Mike Mike McCarthy's fault that Aaron
Jones fumbled in their last game. But he did. It's
not like it's Mike McCarthy's fault that a reliable field
goal kicker who's been able to kick in terrible weather

(07:10):
trrrential rains and wins as well. Mason Crosby suddenly has
a bad day, but he did, and it's not his
fault that the defense can't get one stop or that
the offense could only get eight yards. It was on
an old side of the football for the three or
thirty yard line. But there just doesn't seem to be

(07:31):
a great deal of belief. There just doesn't seem to
be a cohesive coach said it, let's do it. It
doesn't feel like it's a marriage that's meant to last.
And that's okay. Not every marriage is meant to last,

(07:53):
not even marriage. Maybe the best analogy really for this
thing is Mike McCarthy came home late last night and
he was like, yeah, you know, I was I was
at I was at Wild Wings. They were, huh, that's
funny because I was at Wild Wings and you weren't there,
Like like nobody's gonna check He leaves credit card receipts

(08:17):
all around the place and it does not say wild Wings,
Like these are things that are not hard to check
up on, saying the numbers told you to punt when
it's third and two, fourth and two, and you have
arguably the best quarterback in the sport and for my money,
the most talented quarterback who's ever played the sport, who
can not only get the first down with his arm,
can get it with his uh snap count, with a

(08:39):
hard count, and can get it with his legs as well.
Three ways in which you can pick up two yards
with mostly only Aaron Rodgers, maybe you know, get a
little help from Davante Adams, and yet he chose to punt.
And I I've sat here and defended conservative natured, which

(09:00):
just in the past I have that sometimes you have
the feeling. But what I can't defend is this numbers.
What numbers, Mike, what numbers? Because all the numbers, you
guys are like, yeah, that's not actually the way it works.
And it feels like a guy who the NFL and

(09:21):
the use of analytics and the idea of how to
smartly use different times in the game, different yard, different
down and distances to their advantage, and he hasn't been
able to be one step ahead of it. Instead he's
one step behind, and he's claiming numbers support something that
they absolutely don't support. I mean, I thought we were

(09:44):
gonna have Aaron Rodgers score a touchdown and then have
Russell Wilson running around trying to make a play, trying
to get a last second touchdown, much like we had
last weekend at home against the Chargers, and what we'd
likely get in most weekends at home for this the Yawks.
That's like how every Seahawk game ends. Instead, Chris Carston

(10:05):
gets the first down, and that was that. Don't tell
me the numbers support something that It's not hard for
us to do the math and they don't support. Doug
Gotli Show on Fox Sports Radio. Prince of Mukamara, we'll
join the show from the Bears upcoming next. He's seen
the Packers nearon Rodgers, does he think they're done? Plus

(10:25):
what does he expect from the Vikings and Kirk Cousins
And uh, how about the helicopters that are circling locally
trying to watch Cody Parkey practice his field goals at
Soldier Field. What's it all like to be a part
of We'll discuss next. Be sure to catch live editions

Today I'm broadcasting from Blacksburg, Virginia, head of Tomorrow's Miami
Virginia Tech. Came our fall football Tours brought to by

(11:09):
Granger for Industrial safety and industrial supplies. Grangers Got your
Back visit Granger dot com. Um Let's welcome in a
guy who plays defensive back for the Chicago Bears. First
place Chicago Bears, Prince of Mucamara joins us here on
the Doug got Leap Show on Fox Sport Trade. If
you have been following this story outside of Chicago Colode Park,
He's had a great year last year kicking for the Dolphins.

(11:32):
He was a big signing for them, and he did
miss a kick that could have beaten the Dolphins. Other
that was having a good year had a terrible day
on Sunday and then, Prince, have you seen I'm sure
you know of this. He was kicking at Soldier Field
at night one night and they had local helicopter circer around.
You ever seen anything like this? Before. No, no, I

(11:52):
have not, No, I have not, but I mean it
makes sense. Um, the soldier is um. I mean it's
a difficult field to uh to kick in and um,
I mean it's windy and um and yeah, so just
to just to train there and get those reps. I'm
sure it's in poem for him. Yeah, yeah, No, it's
it's a it's a completely different There have been guys

(12:14):
before they that have complained about the footing. What's it
like for you to play there in your home games?
I love it. I mean I think it's Uh, I
think it's an advantage to us if if guys are complaining,
But um, I don't have no problem with it, and um,
it's definitely home field advantage. Prince Mugamara joined us in
the Doug Otlip Show on Fox Sports Radio. There's there's

(12:35):
so much talk about Khalil and the guys up front.
What's your sense of And you know he missed a
couple of games. You guys performed well without him. When
he's back. We saw what he did to Detroit and
he's done to other people. What's this defense like to
be a part of, Man, it's just coming out in
order to start it. I mean, it's it's definitely an
exciting time. I mean, we we finished top ten last

(12:57):
year in defense, and we knew, um, we wanted to
take that extra that extra step this year. And then
I mean, but then with the addition of Khalil, that
that extra step with a little bit more um promising
and um and yeah, Khalil came back last week. I
think he I think he had a two piece. I
think he had two sacks, and um, he just picking

(13:18):
up from where he left off. And I keep telling
everybody he really just makes everybody that much that much
better just because he requires so much attention, um, on
the on the line, and he's getting triple team, double team,
so it opens up, uh for everybody else. On the
other hand, is there ever a sense like, look, that's
this is a d team that will had a successful

(13:40):
defense last You're granted different coaching staff with John Fox
and and and what and perform well without him. How
do you guys, how do you guys not have any
jealousy over the attention not just the money, but the
attention that uh, Like I said, I think one thing
is that like we genuinely like love each other as teammates,

(14:03):
like we hang out during the week, UM and and
I think that helps us UM even become closer together
on on Sundays or whenever we play. But I think
another thing is is that everybody is eating. Everybody is
um is making plays on the ball. Like everybody in
our second day, I think has has has a pick.

(14:24):
Uh and then and then I think almost everybody on
the line has a sex. So everybody's play is given
is getting elevated. So um and and the play making
ability is just has just been contagious. So UM we
know that UM it's a it's a team effort, and
we're just a group of guys who doesn't care who
gets the credit. Like like you said in the beginning,

(14:46):
like we're the first team, we're the we're first place
UM in the division. And I think that's what we
really care about. We just want to win, all right.
When you see the Packers lose last night, what what's
the emotions that go through your body? I'm I mean, uh, gosh,
I don't know what to say. I mean, green day,

(15:07):
Just tell me, just tell me how you feel, like
like you're sitting there, you want them to lose so
that they quit, or do you want them to win,
so it's more competitive. Like, how honestly do you feel
when you watch a team that you're still gonna have
to play again on at Soldier Field? The team you
guys are up seventeen nothing against the first week of
the season, when you see him lose, what's what's how
does it make you feel? I mean anytime I mean

(15:29):
anytime any of our opponents can get can get beat
in in the division. I mean it's always it's always
great and um but um, I mean we we know
what happened the first week, and I mean we're excited
to play them. When when when that day come? But um, yeah,
watching a game against Seattle, Um yeah, I was. I
was excited for Seattle to win. Of course, this is

(15:51):
your first chance to see the Vikings this year, first
chance to see Kirk Cousins this year. I know you've
seen him in the past. You get two games against
the Vikings. Uh, Chris Mukamara joining us in the Dougolics.
Of course you had to pick last week. Um. And
as good as Cousins is, he'll throw one or two
a game. You were like, wait, what what happened there?
When when you when you watch cousins play. When you

(16:12):
watch this offense, what do you see, man, I see
an offense that's that's dynamic, and I mean they love
to get they love to get the ball to their playmakers.
And we know that Adam Feeling and Stefan Dix are
there guys, and they're gonna try to put them in
different spots to uh to get them the ball. And
Kirk Kirk is very very accurate and um he's the

(16:34):
leader of that team and UM he's he's going to
try to try to get them going. So we know,
especially as the defensive backfield, we're going to have our
our work cutout for us trying to guard those guys.
What about what what's the secret to Feeling? Like? How
does how's this guy gone from being undrafted? I mean
he's like an NFL walk on to being one of
the top wide receivers in the game. What's when you

(16:55):
watch him? What's the secret to man? Um? He's just
he's just consistent. And greatness is when you do UM
when you're consistent, like as much as much as you
can be. And he's just been consistent catching the ball,
making plays, running great routes and UM and he's not,

(17:15):
and he's not backing down. And a lot of great
a lot of great dbs has has been guarding him
and he's and he's been um, he's been excelling. He's
been making plays. So so yeah, I don't think he
could be denied that he's not playing like one of
the best wide receivers in the game, because he clearly is.
I don't know how many people have followed the Bears
um the first team to take advantage of the NFL

(17:36):
Social Injustice Social Justice Initiative and donate two fifty plus
forty players on the roster. Remember there's only fifty three active,
but forty forty players have joined in the donate two
hundred and nine six hundred dollars collectively. Who who Who
is it you? Who's been the guy who's spearheaded this thing?

(17:57):
Because you know it works when everybody says I'll eate money,
I'll done. Ain't money, But you need somebody to really
get guys like, no, dude, you gotta put the money
in now, we gotta get this thing done. Who's been
the guy? Yeah, So I would say a couple of
guys just said the first thing that comes to my
head is is sam Acho and um So sam Acho
Minster Bisky a team. Those are the guys who were like, hey,

(18:18):
like let's like like like, let's let's be proactive, like
let's let's actually do something and stuff like that. Because
it all started when the you know, like we all
decided what we're gonna do for the for the anthem,
and and guys said, all right, let's not let's just
not show that we're united by linking arms, like, let's
let's actually um be proactive. And then guys are saying, hey,

(18:41):
there's this social justice fun and let's let's be the
first team to do it. And um, guys just we
just group group together and we've got it done. It's
pretty amazing. Of course, the Bear is gonna match the
toll donation dollars long with additional matching grants some Bears
care in the NFL Foundation. Great stuff you're doing, hey, listen.
Continued success and health to you and everyone around you.

(19:04):
We really pushed appreciate you joining us. Good luck in
the vikings. All right, Prince Mukamara joining us in the
Doug Gotlip Show on Fox Sports Radio. Have you guys
seen this? You have seen it in this footage of it.
It's actually a big controversy in Chicago. So Cody Parkey
struggling and and he has been struggling since I had
a long conversation in them before the Dolphins game. I'll
take the take the hit for that um. Anyway, Cody

(19:27):
Parker has been struggling. So there was a lot of
talk of hey, he never kicks the Soldier Field. They
got the facility, they got the bubble, and it's so
different kicking there. They've had so many guys, you know,
with exception maybe of Robbie Gould for a couple of
years that have struggled kicking in the wind and the
turf of Soldier Field. So he goes and he practices
there at night and all the local helicopters starts circling.

(19:50):
It's like a police chase, only there's just like a kicker,
a holder, and a long snapper and they're they're they're
working on this thing late at night. They get the
lights on the Soldier Field and the bears like pr
is like, no, dude, shut, you're not allowed to watch.
You allowed to film practice, We don't let you film
regular practice, and then put it out on your air.
Uh by or I'll ask you, you're a talented news man.

(20:11):
I actually kind of see the Bear's logic in this thing.
It's like, look, we wouldn't let you film our offense.
We won't let you film anything other than the open session.
So why do you think it's okay to circle above
Cody Parky's he's kicking field goals late into the night,
so he gets ready for kicking in weather. H Do
you take team media or do you take team Bears.

(20:31):
I'll take team media on this just for the simple fact.
If we watched them in pregame warmups anyway, we find
out how long, what is their range? How have they
done on one side of the field, compared to the other.
It's actually one of the key things that we hear
during a game. So and so's range, Cody Parky's range
is fifty four yards. Uh, he was making it from
this end in pre game. So I don't see the

(20:52):
difference between what you would get in pregame to what
you would get, say on a Tuesday or Wednesday night
the shores of like Michigan, and I don't see the
big deal. I think it's a great idea. I think, hey,
why not try to get used to it. You're gonna
be playing a night game on Sunday. I don't see
the big deal in all of it. I think maybe
the Bears are overreacting. I would say the Bears probably

(21:13):
are overreacting, but I think it's a general principal thing.
Would would would be my deal? Right it is, It's
a general principal thing. But it's gonna be fascinating to
see how park he does. Part of me thinks it's
better that the helicopters are circling and that they're filming
this thing, right, because you can't simulate the pressure of
kicking in a game just because you're kicking out in

(21:34):
that field, and not that Cody Parker hasn't shown he
can kick under pressure. But now send you're lining up
and they're literally circling with helicopters, like that puts a
little bit of pressure on you. Let's see what you
got and Doug gotlip show. Fox Sport Tradio brought to
you by Discover Card. We treat you like you treat you.
Let's treat you to some news nuggets, headlines, stuff going on,

(21:56):
including college basketball being played. Did you see the Beavers
come back and win in at the US virgin Islands.
I must have I missed that one. Actually I taped it.
Now you ruined it for me. No, I I missed it.
I did not see it. Spoiler alert, spoiler alert? Who
did they? Who they beat? O? D you all the monarchs?
The monarchs? Virginia Tech did beat Northeast Monarchy in uh

(22:20):
in Charleston to sixty the sixteenth ranked Tokey's. We actually
have rank tupes coming up in an hour that will
keep you up to date. Syracuse against Oregon, number fifteen
against Umber thirteen. Not too bad for a Friday afternoon.
And of course next week is Maui Invitational week, so
it's uh, did you ever do that? Back in the
day when you're at ESPN, did you ever do Mamie Invitational? No?

(22:42):
Malli was always raf and Yllis. I did the I
I got to do the the diamond Head Classic, which
is kind of Waho. But it's like Christmas time. And
as much as Mallie, Mallie is better than Oaho, I
love Oaho and I would I had a edition of
surfing in diamond Head, diamond Head Bay every Christmas Day

(23:04):
for three straight years. It was amazing, and that part
was cool, but yes, Mall he's now He's the Malley
field this year is ridiculous, Like when you're too the
worst member. Shamana is not in it now. So when
you're two worst teams in and are probably I'm gonna
go with uh Illinois is one of the worst teams
there and man, maybe Xavier. When those are your two

(23:29):
worst teams, that's an incredible field. Yeah, college hoops really
heating up, if you will. Things heating up at the
NBA Bucks forward John Henson, though not so much. He's
gonna miss about three months of action because he needs
surgery to repair torn ligament in his wrist. In his wrist.
Some injury news of the NFL. Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco
doubtful to face the Bengals because of his hip injury.

(23:50):
Bengals wide receiver A J. Green doubtful for that game
because of his toe injury. He was actually ruled out
but then upgraded to doubtful, So there's a slight chance,
but still not likely to see A. J. Green in
that a f C North showdown. Bengos running back Joe
mix And will play. He wasn't even on the injury
report Gold Scard Quinton Nelson Grand for leading with his
helmet on a block during their Week ten win against

(24:11):
the Jaguars. In tonight's Discover Card key match up, the

Learn more Discover dot Com. Slash match limitations apply. Finally,
the Orioles made an official naming. Michael IIAs is the
new executive vice president and general manager. He comes over

(24:34):
from the Houston Astros. Doug back to you and everybody
wants to I mean, look the the Astros tanked and
then loaded up on talent and Baltimore tanked, and how
they're gonna try and load up on talent and see
how that works for him. It does. It does make
a little bit of sense there. Take somebody who's experienced
what you are going through and have them kind of

(24:56):
hold your hand and go through it with them. That
part of the higher makes complete in total sense. We'll
see if it ultimately works. The harder part is you're
in a division with Red Sox and the Yankees. Forgive
about everybody else in the division. You're in the you
know you're in division with the Red Sox and Yankees.
It is really really hard to rebuild that way. Um,

(25:20):
you get to the middle of November and it's kind
of like what they call it Engulf moving day. Right,
Friday is moving day? Are you familiar with that? That
doesn't mean Friday people actually move. It means you're either
moving up the leaderboard, you're going home. Moving Day Saturday.
So what did I say? Friday? Saturday's Saturday's moving day? Right?

(25:43):
Saturdays moving day in golf? Appreciated, guys. I'm losing my
mind over lick of sleep, and um, I kind of
feel like this weekend's moving day for one team. The
Dallas Cowbuns are taking on the Atlanta Falcons. Now, if
you would have if you look at if you look
at the past seen numbers of Matt Ryan, he's having
a great year, but they have so many injuries on defense,

(26:08):
so many And then you look at what's in front
of the Cowboys. They have the Redskins next, then they
have the Saints and the Eagles three game homestand and
I understand you know you gotta play the Eagles again,
a team you you just beat, beating a beating a
rival a second time, and a team that hasn't traditionally

(26:28):
at Jerry's World been grade at home, although this year
they've been better than years in the past, beating the Giants,
beating the Lions, beating the Jaguars before losing to the
Titans after being tied at halftime. Um going back a
week ago Monday, but the Falcons are not do not
feel like a playoff team this year. They just don't.
They have so many injuries defensively and they can't stop

(26:51):
anybody that this is This does not appear to be
the year. I kind of feel like this is moving day.
Sunday is moving day for the Cowboy Lays play an
early game, which gives you a little bit more rest
for the next week. You're coming off a win against
the Philadelphia Eagles and you look at your division and
Washington's coming into your building next your building, next the Falcons.

(27:16):
They may have the same record, but they don't have
the same future. They just don't. They still have to
go to New Orleans, go to Green Bay. At the
Ravens coming in, you gotta go to the Panthers, gotta
go to the Buccaneers. Maybe they win three more games, maybe,
and that's not gonna be good enough to make the playoffs.
I feel like this is possibly moving day. You know,
you get another week with your new offensive line coach.

(27:39):
They do have. Even if you don't agree with the
trade and what they gave up for Marie Cooper, it
does give them more talent and a number one wide receiver.
Whether he's a top ten number one wide receiver or not,
or what's the way he's gonna be paid next year
or not. Marii Cooper is an upgrade for the now.
You can beat the Falcons and get to five and five.

(28:00):
Then you get the Redskins at home, and they have
they lost three more to season ending injuries last week.
Then you get the Saints, you take a shot, you
get the Eagles. You still go to the Colds, who
I think are a sneaky team, could be in the playoffs.
Buccaneers at home and at the Giants, and by then
the Giants will have completely and totally shut it down,
probably won't be starting Eli Manning. There are two and
seven right now. I feel like it's a moving day

(28:24):
for the Cowboys beat the Falcons. You have hope, you
got the first place skins coming into your place. You
got a ton of hope. You know if you lose,
then all of a sudden, the knives are pointed right
at Jason Garrett. The question about if and when they'll

(28:46):
they'll really extend doak become real questions? It feels like
Sunday's moving day. Um, quick question for you. This is
a buyer music Ramo's sort of question. All right, so, um,
I had I've never really taken my son went with
me on one work trip, and that was the Final

(29:06):
Four a couple of years ago, but that was after
I had stopped calling doing the Final Four at the desk.
He was when I was when I did at the desk. Uh,
he was too young to really have around and frankly,
I didn't love to set up when my family didn't
get to be around me that much. So I've never
taken my kids when two places when I call games.

(29:28):
I just haven't school sports events and generally been a
little bit too little to just leave sitting at the
desk and hey, five dollars go get a cocon a
hot dog while I'm broadcasting this game. Put the headset on.
Now they're gonna getting old enough. So I don't know,
this feels like the coolest dude trip ever, but I

(29:49):
want to know if it's too much. So the the
Friday before Christmas. Friday before Christmas, I'm calling you see
your Vine against Butler. You see Yourvine's code by Russ Turner.
He's a personal friend of mine. His son, Darius, I
coach in au basketball, is in sixth grade but gets
along great with my son. And it's at Butler, and

(30:10):
we talked a little about Hoosiers yesterday. Of course, the
final scene of Hoosiers is filmed at Hanklefield House, which
has been redone, but it is. It's one of the
cathedrals of the sport. It's awesome. And then after the
game they let any little kid that wants come and
play basketball on the hardwood, which is cool at at Hinkle.
So we'd have complete run of the place at Hinkle

(30:32):
field House. That's on Friday. Oh but wait, there's more. Um.
Indiana has a game at home on Saturday, and then
on Sunday the Colts play the Giants. I mean, who's
what little kids favorite player isn't O'Dell Beckham Jr. And
then the Pacers play the Wizards at home, and the

(30:52):
Wizards are coached by Scottie Brooks. If you listen to
my All Ball podcast, Scotty Brooks is a long time
close friend of mine. We could hit up college basketball
two straight days, NFL football, NBA basketball three days in
India and come home that night too much. No, I
said yes to take your If Lucas was in sixth grade,

(31:15):
him and I would be gone in two seconds. He's
my sons in fourth. I think you said sixth grade
du Dudu, the son of the youth to Dervine coach
in the sixth grade, Well, Lucas fourth. I think it's
okay to Lucas is the first. He's a little too young.
I'd be a little worried about not being able to
see him behind me or around me, But I think

(31:35):
fourth is okay. Doug, your son's twenty one, right, you
can take him to all the bars. I mean we're
gonna postgame bars, strip clubs, you know the whole thread.
We're gonna do it like like like pros. That's a
pretty cool bro out time. I just don't know if
it's like to you, like I'm throwing too much on there.
This is the thing that I think you've got to
figure out, like does he love like pizza or like

(31:57):
you gotta do like that sort of thing between you know,
one of the games or you know, yeah, you know
that thing. Or the question is do I take them to?
I gotta take them to um uh st Almos st Almos,
which is the famous restaurant bar in Indie. But they're
they're famous not just for their steaks but also for

(32:17):
their uh shrimp cocktail because they're cocktail sauces so spicy.
So even though he doesn't, that's the one way I
can get him to eat trim cocktail, right, is going like, hey, listen,
I know normally eat shrim cocktail, but this is the
spiciest trim cocktail sauce there is. And you know, you
kind of challenge their manhood. That sounds like a pretty cool,
like pre Christmas bro trip, very cool, very cool. All Right,

(32:40):
I gotta tack the boss. I gotta tack the boss
into it. That's gonna be the tough sale today. I'm

Dan Buyer is uh psychic, psychic it is what do
you know? What do you know? Well? Psychic? With Joe
Flacco Dolf will will place Sunday against Cincinnati. Will he

(34:09):
get his starting quarterbacking job back at some point this season? Yes?
He will. Yes, he will because I think r G
three and uh Lamar Jackson will split the duties. And
even if r G three plays well, remember you're playing
against arguably the worst defense in the NFL, so bad

(34:31):
they fired Tarrell austin their defense according after getting stomped
and not forcing the Saints the punt last week. I
do think he will. He will get the job back. Psychic.
Will there be another in season firing in the National
Football League this year with a head coach? Of course,
Hugh Jackson was dismissed as the head coach of the Browns,

(34:51):
but now Mike McCarthy's on the hot seat. You know
that Todd Bowles is on the hot seat, but they're
saying he's gonna stay till the end. Will another coach
be fired in season in the NFL this year. I
cannot see that. In my psychic powers, I cannot see
that coming to fruition. Not not at all. I can't
see it. Even the bad bad teams either, like the Raiders,
forty Niners and Giants all have relatively new head coaches

(35:14):
with Shanahan and his second year and a long term
plan Shermour. And it's not just that's part of it.
And I also think part of it is it doesn't
really make all that much sense, right, like wifire a
guy early, unless you have a guy on staff where
you want to take a look at, or unless you've
completely lost control the thing. And that's what happened, That's
what they believe happened in UH in Cleveland. Why the

(35:36):
why the move was made. I don't believe anyone has
lost that level of control just yet. Psychic will Rams
in Chiefs on Monday Night live up to the hype. Um. Yes,
I think it'll be an offensive shootout. And it's not
that it. We've had other really good games. We had
a good game last night. Last night was the entertaining.

(35:57):
We've had really good games. But I think you have
offensive weaponry, offensive firepower teams get an extra day to
be healthy. Um, that's not turf for a dome, but
it is a pretty fast surface. Sc doesn't play there,
so you're gonna be So the grass is gonna be
as good as it's been all year long. Yeah, I
think that's gonna be a really exciting, high scoring game.

(36:17):
I'm just curious to see who steps up, Like, who's
the one that stands above all. Will it be Todd Gurley,
Will it be Patrick Mahomes, could be a couple of guys,
But I'm curious to see who's really going to stand
out in that. Tell you this, Marcus Peters, you better
not get get caught looking in the backfield and get
you know, you end up getting burned on national TV
by your own team, your former team who traded you

(36:37):
away and when you got you know, the fastest guy
to play in the NFL. Maybe ever, you could look
really really bad and an important spot psychic. What will
be the best college football game of the week featuring
a ranked team? There aren't tons of great matchups this weekend,
the week out of rivalry week if you will in
college football. But you've gotten number nine West Virginiette, Oklahoma

(37:00):
State number ten Ohio States at Maryland number twenty four,
Cincinnatis at eleven three k UCF and of course the
game at Yankee Stadium Saturday afternoon, number three Notre Dame
against number twelve Syracuse, Syracuse. Notre Dame is going to
be the best of those games. Unfortunately, Notre Dame is
gonna be wearing these awful pinstripe pant uniforms. Your your

(37:20):
not Youre Dame? Like, what are you doing? You don't
have to Oregon has to do that. Notre Dame doesn't
have to do that. We oh, it's a pinstripe series, Like,
you're Notre Dame, You're synonymous with gold helmets. Don't even
win the gold helmets? What are you doing? Psychic? Who's
going to feel the wrath? More from coach Gate in Houston?

(37:41):
Did you see that last night? Major apple White, the
head coach of the Houston Cougars, telling Ed Oliver to
take off the winter coat on the sidelines because Oliver
wasn't playing. Oliver then ended up going after apple White
as the teams were leaving the field. Apple White after
the game said that the jackets were for players who
were playing. Plus it was only fifty degrees. Who's gonna

(38:03):
feel the wrath more or maybe have more of a
fallout from this coach incident. I think it'll be fifty
fifty on at Oliver. I don't think it'll be a
big thing on I thought Major rapp of White handled
it really really well, just like, hey, he's a young guy.
I played. I know what it's like. Young guys make
a mistake. We're just here to help and we want
to have him come back. But at Oliver is healthy.

(38:25):
I mean, this is terrible. What are we doing? And
I know Buyer that you're four. A player sets his value.
Don't play. You could get hurt. You came to school
to play football. Your team is out there playing football.
What are we doing? Defensive ends? Don't get hurt tackling
the quarterback? When does that happen? Nick Bosa? Nick Boles,

(38:45):
Like Nick Bosa, it's a sports hernia, is all it is.
He'll be fine, be fine. You know you can hurt you.
You can have a sports herney when you're lifting and
when you're jumping on boxing. Doing the box chumps just
as easily as playing. It's not like you're gonna suffer
catastrophic knee injury, you know, I mean, I guess it's
some of a cup blocks you. But tell me when
that's happened. It hasn't like either you want to play

(39:07):
football or you don't. If you want to play football,
go play football. If you don't, don't start wearing a
jacket on the sideline like you're one of the active
players when you know you're not supposed to. It's just
to clarify. I don't mind it if they're sitting up
meaningless bowl games, regular season games and other matchups. But
this is but this is the problem with the sitting
out meaningless bowl games thing is when does it end? Like, well,

(39:27):
you know, they could finish eight and three, like okay,
but that's not really meaning None of this means anything
now because you had the playoffs to some people, so
it all is essentially a meaningless exercise once you lose
a couple of games at Houston, right. But yeah, but
I would also think that coaches actually look at the
bowl game is all right, we get a couple more
practices in, we get to look at some more young
guys like Leonard Fournett. Running two hundred yards in a

(39:48):
bowl game is not going to help LSU as much
as seeing you know, Leonard Fournette starring in the NFL
when it comes to recruiting, Like, that's how I look
and I do think, and I do think running backs
a little bit different because everybody's trying to act with
you and and when everybody tries to tackle, you can
get hurt a little bit easier that way. On the
other hand, you know, Barry Sanders went out and rushed

(40:08):
for like three hundred yards in a bowl game, meaningless
bowl game that nobody saw, that didn't count for his stats,
And I don't know. I just like, it's a celebration
of your year, of your career, of your run at
your school, Like that's kind of what it's about. And
just buying that. And if you don't want to play
a ton, like, don't make a big deal of it.
Get a couple of carries, you know, maybe get a touchdown,

(40:30):
and then check out of the game, talk with your
coach about it. But I think making a big show
about how you aren't gonna do it, that just doesn't
feel like a good teammate to me. Sorry, And I
know that this is game time on the Duck Godly Show,
but this is the problem. This is a lot like
the problem of letting guys come out of high school,
Like all right, well, if we don't care by college,

(40:51):
why do we care about high school when we let
him come out of junior high school? Like? When when
does it all end? Why do we set some Why
don't we set a point? If there's no rules, why
do we set why do we set at it? That
would kind of be my my issue with it. To damn,
I'm I'm in Blacksburg. Thanks to the folks at Granger

Grangers got your back. Visit Granger dot com. Um Man,
I love it, but I think I cost Quentin Nelson

(42:14):
like twenty six dollars. You heard the story that Dan
Buyer just shared with you, and if you weren't paying
attention to, like, wait, what so? Quentn Nelson is the
talented rookie guard out of Notre Dame who's been as
good or better than advertised. And on Sunday, after the

(42:35):
Colts win, the Colts twitter account tweeted out screaming helps
and I don't think it was actually Quentin Nelson was
what was miked up for the game, but had him
streaming as he he um um, as he just kind
of runs over a dude, runs over a dude. And
so I watched it again and again and again, and

(42:57):
I thought, well, it's one of awesome, right, it's kind
of old school football pulling guard, great athlete just trucking
a linebacker or a defensive back in the process. But
then when I watched the hit, he did lower his
helmet at the point of impact and lead with that helmet,

(43:19):
and so I tweeted out as such that like, hey,
I get that everybody loves this video and keeps retweeting it.
We do realize that the NFL is going to find
him for this because it's leading with the helmet and
dropping his helmet. It's two days ago, Dan Buyer, what
happened today? How much does he find? Let me find yep. Yeah,

(43:41):
that's the most you can be fined so for for
this type of hit. On the first first hit, I
kind of think I got Quentin Nelson. Fine. I didn't
want I didn't mean to. I just saw it happening,
and it's almost like like the Twitter like they didn't
mean anything behind I've done this before. It's it's like
when you're at a party or you're at it's the

(44:02):
day like two days after the party, and you're you're
at a baseball game with your kids and you're like, man,
you want to think, hey, Mike, that party you had
the other night was amazing. That was really cool and
the belly dancers, the music, the food was incredible. Meanwhile,
you got like two other families sitting there with you,
and then you get invited to the party Like, oh my,
I was just trying to compliment you on your party.

(44:23):
I wasn't trying to point out that you iced these
families out of your party. That's pretty much what the
Colts Twitter account did, so um, yeah, there you go.
Doug got Limp show here on Fox Sports Radio. The

(44:43):
guy who got Quentin Nelson fined. That's a little Joe.
Little Joe tweeted at me, dude, you got him fined?
My bed, my bed, and we do kind of brush
off the ats twenty six dollars? Can you imagine gin, Like,
if you've got a parking ticket that was twenty sis,
I don't care if you're a multi multimillionaire like twentys

(45:07):
for blocking a guy, like what that would hurt? Well,
you know what's the tax? Right off? It goes to
a charity, Like so what this is an ask? This
is a this is a mandatory donation? All right? Last night, Uh,
the Warriors played the Rockets. It did not go well,

(45:30):
did not go well for the Warriors. They got blown
out by the Rockets. K D looked um, he looked okay,
he had twenty, he didn't make a shot. I mean
part of what people are missing, and I've heard I've
heard many of my media brethren say, like, we'll see
that just shows Steph Curry is more important to this team.

(45:52):
He's better than Kevin Durant. No, he's not. Steph Curry
has moments where he's better in moments where he's worse.
He's not as consistently as spectacular, and he's not he
doesn't affect the game nearly as much at both ends
of the floors Kevin Durant is. And I think Steph
Curry is amazing. He's been a two time m v P,
including um a unanimous m v P. But what we

(46:15):
we have to realize is the Warriors. Warriors, by the way,
are without two starters. Like what like DeMarcus Cousins is
going to start for them and Steph Curry is gonna
come back. They got two fifths of their starters. And
part of what's happened since their first championship when they

(46:35):
had a very deep and solid bench and kind of
perfect pieces they've got together. Is they had to dismantle
that bench one because of age and uh some evolution too,
because some guys got paid salary wise in three in
order to go get Kevin Durant. This is so you know,

(47:02):
I I'm sorry. I look and I I say to myself, dude,
this is really really really simple, really simple that that
as much as Durant and his inability to be decisive
as to what he's doing or just leave open the
possibility of leaving Golden State has allowed all of us

(47:24):
to have the conversation, let's not get it twisted. Draymond
Green is the problem. Like Draymond somehow has become this
heroic character because he's called out Kevin Durant and Kevin
Durant's manhood, and Kevin rants like, hey, don't ask me
this question anymore. I don't blame him personal relationship. I

(47:46):
answered as much as I'm gonna answer, and oh yeah,
by the way, uh this was about Draymond, and Draymond
answered for the last time. He even said, you didn't
take questions I got. People today are Stephen A. Smith
coming after Kevin Durant for saying, hey, don't ask me
about that anymore. Draymond Green said, don't ask me about this.
I'm not taking any questions. Here's gonna say. That's a
I'm gonna say about it. End of story. That was yesterday.

(48:08):
And then after the game they want to ask him
to ask Kevin gad about it. Like we just said,
we're not talking about anymore. And then he said, hey,
can you talk about it? But this is what Yahoo
insider Chris Haynes had said the response, this is what happened.
This is what caused Draymond gets suspended. Get the f

(48:29):
out of here, watch us figure this blank out. Green
reportedly called Durant the B word the entire time. Then
Green blurted out to Durant something along the lines up,
we don't need you. We won without you. Leave. Draymond
Green is Denzel Washington and you're like, okay, that's you
have my attention, Gottlieb. Which version of Denzel Washington is he?

(48:52):
Is he falling Denzel Washington? Did you like them? I
love the movie following I feel like that rama. That's
an underrated movie, freaky, scary but really really good. Right,
there's the version of him Glory. Oh, he is great
and glory. No, No, Draymond is Denzel in training day.
Remember Alonso, the badass cop was really on the take

(49:14):
and then leaves Ethan hawk uh in the hood where
he was nearly murdered. Remember that. You remember at the
end of the movie where where Alonso, that's Denzel Washington's
character thinks that all these guys in the hood have
his back, all of them take care of my business.

(49:36):
You're nothing without me. I run this place, I run
this hood, and and they tell Ethan Hawk's character go
ahead and get lost. We got this. Do you remember that?
That's what it is like, like Draymond Green thinks he's
leading the charts. He thinks he's doing the right thing.
He thinks he's the last true warrior. You know, I
get this. We've won this without you. Hey, dude, we

(49:58):
lost the championship because of you. Draymond. Remember how many
times he kicked dudes in the nuts and then finally
he got suspended against the Calves and oh yeah, by
the way, it energized the Calves. Stand over Lebron James again.
How many how many Lebron dropped the very next game?
I think it was forty one? All right? He he

(50:22):
took the stick and he poked the bear and kept
poking the bear, and you know what, the bear woke
up and smacked him back down. That's why he had
to call Kevin Kevin Durant and say, hey, dude, we
need you. That's what I remember. That exact same year,
he got into it with his coach Steve Kerr on
the sidelines, like, look, this whole idea, there's a reason

(50:45):
that the Warriors have. Basically, they said his behavior was reprehensible.
The things he said are not we do not don't
agree with, but I agree with the idea that like, look,
Kde is great and has his flaws and is not
wired like staph or like clay, and he's not the
perfect perfect fit. But if we have to pick between

(51:08):
the two of you, it's a lot harder to find
a seven footer who has been an m v P
in a finals m v P twice, who's unguardable, can
play both ends than oh of three from the floor,
maybe playing hurt with a bad shoulder, a bad knee,
but he's just not that effective a player. That's one
reason they needed another major scoring weapon. Was in order

(51:31):
for Draymond to get away with not being able to score.
I'm not sitting here telling you that Draymond isn't a
tremendous player. Mike, I'm not telling you that Alonso wasn't
getting stuff done as a cop. But at some point
you think everybody's got your back, and at some point

(51:52):
they will turn on you, And maybe that's what happened
with the Warriors front office and like, dude, we've had
enough of your act. Oh yeah, by the way, while
Steps gonna come back, so is Boogie Cousins. We still
don't know how the Warriors are gonna play when they
get Boogie. That means they have to play with a
big guy. That means Draymond is gonna be forced to
not being able to switch and play around the basket.

(52:18):
Can you continue to hide him offensively? I don't take
offense to calm people. The B word like I don't
use it, but it's it's there are people that have
used the N word that are now moving to the
B word because the B word, for whatever reason is
uh is allowed to be used and though it may

(52:40):
cause a fight, it's not gonna cause any sort of
racial tension. That's what our locker room arguments sound like.
That's what arguments between guys that are trying to challenge
somebody's manhood talk acts like. And if Kevin Durant did
say that's why I'm out, maybe he say I'm out
because of that dude, Draymond, not because the rest of

(53:03):
those guys Draymond making him feel as though they did
him a favor when both sides needed each other. Right up, next,
former NFL scout John Middlecoff joins the show. I'll get

(54:25):
You live in Northern California. I bring you on to
talk about the NFL, but I want to ask you
your take on the Warrior situation. First. Uh, you know,
I was a little offended for Draymond. Not that he
didn't cross the line, not that he didn't need to
be have a talking to. I mean, Draymond is a
grown man and you know he can handle the heat.
But to suspend him without pay for a guy that

(54:49):
has been listen. He didn't make Stephan Clay, but he's
played a big role in their growth. He's played a
big role in this team's growth in this area. Uh.
And he played a big role in landing Kill. Now
he might also be playing a role in some of
this craziness that's going on behind the scenes. But one
thing's clear. You know, I worked closely with Marcus Thompson.
Uh and he wrote the other day, like Draymond wrote

(55:12):
or said something that not not necessarily the B word
and emasculating him in front. But the other free agency
stuff was something that the other core guys Steph clay
Andre and Sean Livingston are thinking. They might not say it,
but they didn't disagree with what he said. So for them,
in a vacuum, everyone in the world would pick Kevin

(55:33):
Durant over Draymond. But to me, there was more to this,
and I just I thought, man, I don't blame Draymond,
you know, for still kind of being mad today. It's
not I don't think it's something you get over it,
you know when But wait, wait do you think do
you do you think Durant? I mean, so Durant supposed
to get over when the guy who recruited you, he
was like, hey, we don't really we didn't, we don't
need you. Oh yeah, by the way, if I'm in

(55:54):
that locker room. If I'm in that locker room, I'm
sitting there going Wait a second, we would have won
the second championship if dreym would be able to keep
his cool, If if he wouldn't, if he would have
been able to keep his cool and would have been
kicking guys all throughout playoffs, he wouldn't get suspended in
the in the finals if that didn't happen. I'm not
trying to take Draymond off the hook, you know, but

(56:15):
I do think it's pretty clear that if Kevin, like
Kevin either directly or indirectly, wanted him suspended because if
he didn't want if he didn't think it was that
big of a deal, like he wanted him to be
reprimanded and take his money again. It's not about Draymond
is so rich that grand. It's not about the money.
It's about the respect and that for a guy Doug

(56:36):
that everyone around here and I know you guys all nationally,
I think he's gone. So you're doing this to kiss
his butt with this guy, I don't. I don't think
he's I don't think he's gone. I think most people
think he's gone. I don't think, I honestly don't believe
guys legitimately make a decision. Legitimately make a decision until
it's time to make the decision. I think you asked

(56:57):
him to day, like, hey, do you want to go?
Do you want to stay? He ever like, yeah, I
want to win a championship and then go okay, but
let's let's see what happened. What if they what if
they don't win it? What do they do in it?
And he wins the finals m v P again? Does
is Draymond definitely staying because his contracts up? Is Clay
definitely staying because his contracts up? Like there's a there's
a lot of moving parts there. We don't know who's

(57:17):
in New York. We don't prezingis you know he posted
a video of him running, but he's not running for
the team. We want to go to the Clippers? Is
kauaigo and the Clippers? He's going by himself? Is he
really going to go to the Lakers and play for
lebronze team? That seems like a stretch as well. It's
the l A teams. It's it's either the Clippers or
the Lakers. It's not I think it's I think it's
New York. I've heard, I've heard Nicks and Clippers, but again,

(57:39):
that's what everybody hears. But this idea that that's what
the Warriors would tell you. That's why they believe they're
keeping them. They believe that he's gonna stay here and
they're gonna side with him on something like this because
at the end of the day, they're choosing Kevin over Draymond, Like,
I don't even well, I don't. I think, yes, a
little bit, But I also think that it's fair to

(58:00):
say that they're also choosing how this just this instant, right,
and just this instant And remember Draymond he went off
on Steve Kirk going back in the playoffs. He's he's
pulled this, He's like pulled this almost I'm bipolar thing before.
And you you gotta say, this is not excepting, Like,
it's not acceptable behavior. We can't have dude, we can't

(58:22):
have it. We can't have it. When when Draymond green
Is has the peacekeeper is DeMarcus Cousins, you know it's
a screwed up situation, right when when the guy with
the when the most level head in the room is
DeMarcus cousins. You you got a circus right now in
your hands. I think Draymond views it and whether he's
not right, but he views it as I'm a I'm

(58:45):
the heartbeat of this team, because the coach says that
all the time. The players know it. They tell me
that all the time. And the reason Kevin's here is
not because Joe you're a great businessman, or Bob you
look incredible in a suit and everyone loves you. It's
because I started the deal and then I helped close
the deal. And whether he's right or wrong, I think
there's some validity to it. It's not a Draymond, but

(59:07):
he views it as I brought this guy here. This
is my guy, and yeah, I crossed the line with him,
but that's my problem, Like you guys shouldn't suspend me.
I'm with you there. There are so many variables of
this it's crazy. My thing is if he does leave
and I'm with you, while I think he's gone, no
one knows it, and Kevin probably doesn't even know it.
But if he does leave and Draymond's never quite the same,

(59:30):
they kind of they chose a guy that everyone's gonna say, well,
he was leaving anyway, and that that's what's gonna be
the narrative that they threw Draymond under the bus for
a guy that was gonna leave anyway. Fair enough, John
Minelkoff joining us in the Doug Gotlet Show on Fox
Sports Radio. Um, are we here? Here's my issue with
McCarthy saying the numbers right, the numbers. The numbers told

(59:55):
me that I should punt there. I get there in
their own side of the field. But you know, even
if the Seahawks kick a field goal, you still kind
of get the ball back. I get that the offense
hadn't been great in the second half. I understand all that.
If he had just said, like, hey, I went by
gut feel I believe in my defense we get a
stop and we didn't, it would have gone over better.
But the numbers thing, it feels like he's trying to

(01:00:17):
outsmartest and he really made himself sound foolish. What was
your reaction to McCarthy saying the reason they didn't go
for was the numbers. Yeah, I mean I thought the
game was basically over earlier on, you know, when it
was fourteen to three and they could have just boat
race Seattle like a team like the l A Rams
or Kansas City or Green Bay when they were good,

(01:00:37):
it would have been thirty one seven, you know, or
thirty one ten. It would have been boomed. Damn, this
game's over. And they let him stay in the game.
And at the end of the day, Yeah, that decision,
you know, whether they would have got that fourth down
or not. Like the Packers just aren't that good. There
a shell of what they used to be. Uh. Rogers
and again, McCarthy's gotta go you. You could probably just

(01:01:00):
to fight firing today. But Rodgers numbers thirty and the
three hundred yards you know, three thirty look awesome, but
really it was two massive plays. Uh. And again he's incredible.
I'm an Aaron Rodgers guy, but he's just lack of
fundamentals and he always gets away with it. But he
was skipping some balls last night. Like, Aaron, they paid

(01:01:20):
you a hundred million because you are Aaron Rodgers. I'm
yesterday to win that game, I needed a twenty five
thirty performance. Instead I got and again thirty. He was
three thirty yards. Yeah, he's being paid like the best
player in the league. I needed an a performance saying
God you know again, people are gonna be like, what
did you say? It was a little Kaepernick esque in

(01:01:41):
terms of when Kaepernick was humming, he would hit two
or three plays that your jaw would drop, and Rodgers
did that last night, the one where he rolled out
and the other deep bomb he hit to Davante Adams
that are just like wow. But there were just some
basic layup throws that Aaron, at this point in your career,
you should make these with your eyes closed. So I'm
not putting McCarthy off the hook. It's over, but Rogers,

(01:02:04):
you know, he's got to do so this offseason. A
little look in the mirror is probably not changing. But man,
he's he's leaving some throws out there. No, he he is.
It's weird We've we've gone from people pointing out his
record too now it's no one. It's like he's like
Lebron James now where it's never Lebron's fault. Now it's
never Aaron Rodgers faut. It's like, yeah, come on, like

(01:02:25):
some of that stuff has is in fact it's is
in fact Aaron Rodgers. Not all of it, but there's
a percentage of it which he is in control of
his destiny. Right. Here's here's the big question that the
Packers are gonna have to answer, is this, who is
the guy who can get his because you gotta get
his respect, and you gotta get his respect and then

(01:02:47):
be imaginative enough and fundamentally sound enough to to get
him to to evolve even at this stage in his career.
But you can't have And I've been going back and forth,
like would you let Aaron talk to him? If you're Aaron,
you want to go like Lebron James and always be
able to say like, I'm not the GM. You know
you it's you're in a weird spot. But you want
the head coach and Aaron that's gonna be the only

(01:03:10):
relationship that truly matters, you know. It's it's a tough situation.
I think they always go offense. I mean, just look
at their history from Holmgren to Sherman and McCarthy like
they go offensive coordinator. They're gonna hire offense, which is
the right move. But it's just who do you do
do you get a younger guy? I think you brought
this name up last time we talked. I've been thinking
about it. It's not that crazy at Cliff Kingsbury, think

(01:03:31):
a little outside the box. Uh, you know, do you
go for Lincoln Riley? He'll probably say no. But you're
the Green Bay Ackers. You got Aaron Rodgers, you know,
John D. Philippo. I think you gotta go young. You
gotta try to, you know, recreate what Matt Naggie. I
know Kyle is losing, but Kyle, they would take Kyle
Shanahan and the heartbeat, um, you know the mcveigh's that
that's what you want. Andy Reid back in the day,

(01:03:53):
you know, when he was hired in the late nineties
and I think he was thirty eight forty years old.
He was young at the time. That's what they're looking for.
It's just it's hard. Is that guy is Cliff Kingsberry
or brink and Riley or John D. Philippo. Gonna say, Aaron,
your footwork is terrible, and Aaron's gonna listen because it
feels like McCarthy's at the point where why I even
waste your time, you know, screaming about that. But the

(01:04:15):
next you know, the way new coaches are, that's they
kind of start at the bottom and then you know,
kind of work up. It's like when Steve Kerr got
to the Warriors. They were good. He made him do
like basic passenger rills, and dudes are like, what are
you doing? But it was important, you know, and is it?
Would Aaron even take to that, and that's my question,
would he even listen? He'd be crazy? Not like if

(01:04:35):
the coach gets fired and you missed the playoffs two
years in a row. There has to be some self reflection, right,
even for anyone at the top of their field, it'd
just be it'd be you, hope, if you're a Packer fan,
if you're Brian kudakiins, if you're I mean, if you're
Davante Adams, You're like, I'm in the peak of my
powers right now. I'm crushing it. You know, we should
be winning. Um. I don't think they're dead yet. By

(01:04:57):
the way, I still think there's one last uh, that
there's one last push in them, especially in that division
which doesn't doesn't blow me away. I could be I
could be wrong. Bears taking on the Vikings. One of
those teams lose this weekend. Of course one of them wins.
But but if the Bear, if the Bears win, they
they they're they got such a big lead for the
division and be hard. It will be. It will be

(01:05:17):
our John Middlecoff three Now podcast joins just A Doug
Gotlip Show Fox Sports Radio. By the way, have you
seen have you seen the footage of Cody Parky kicking
field goals at Soldier Field. The Bears, Uh, the Bears
people are the pr people are trying to shut it down.
You know that he had a terrible weekend, so he
wanted to kick at Soldier Field at night on the lights.
And then all of a sudden, it's like made its
rounds and all the sports directors sent their helicopters out.

(01:05:39):
Have you heard about this? Yeah, I read about it.
I didn't see the video of the helicopter, but I
just follow some people that cover the Bears just talking
about helicopters. I didn't realize he was at the stadium
kicking because they practiced somewhere else, you know. I mean,
that's that's kind of crazy, that's funny. But I get
the kids some credit. I mean that field is the
Tory Sleep pretty slippery. You know this is this is

(01:06:02):
gonna be. There's gonna be a lot of pressure in
this bad boy Sunday night. I mean that Bears fans
the biggest Chicago Bears game in years. Are you are
you a buyer? And are you a buyer into Trabiski?
Buyer would be strong, But I do think he's better
than kind of the narrative that started early in the season.
He's a big time athlete and he's taking he's a

(01:06:26):
big time athlete, and he's and they love him like
all the guys, all the coaches, there's total buy into
him the guy. But man, when that he comes out
of the huddle and two defensive coordinators have told me this,
like he what he read that first read, whatever he
gets like, that's where he's going. It's all pre snap
and if he's a little bit fuzzy on it, he

(01:06:47):
tucks in and runs it. And if he throws it
when he's running it, like who the hell knows where
it's going. So that's why they traded two first rounders
for Cleil Mac. They're gonna win on defense, baby, and
he's just got to kind of manage the game, which
at the end of the day, I mean, if this
is a playoff team, he eventually he's gonna have to
make some throws. I I think he's got some, just
inherent inaccuracies on some like he struggles throwing just like

(01:07:08):
a basic fade in the back of the end zone.
That's the problem, and you've got to be able to
make that pass and just some basic throws that like
in rhythm, like a little swing pass to the with
the running back out of the backfield. Like he can't
just easy stuff, because he can make some throws where
you're like, wow, you know that's a big time throw,
and then he can do through some basic stuff that
to me, that's always the killer that will eventually really

(01:07:31):
expose him. Right now, as long as he's still running
around like he's good enough that they can win Sunday,
but he's also bad enough where we may come around
next time. We're talking next week, we're like, God, Drabisky
was terrible. You just don't know what you're gonna get
with a guy like that. Um, if you're the Ravens,
do you start Lamar Jackson? Who you have to change

(01:07:52):
the offense because with him when he tried to play
within the offense wasn't great. And then they've had him
as like a zone you know, zone readied running. Yeah,
I mean you have RG three you actually you know
like he's a vet and he looked good in the preseason.
Um plack of appears to be hurt. Like if if
it's you and you're John Harbor, you're trying to save
your job, what do you do? Well, if Lamar had

(01:08:13):
been he'd been sick this week, I think I saw
today he came back to practice, You'd start Lamar Jackson
because if there was any I'm not a big Lamar
Jackson guy, but let's just say he has a couple
of games of his life where it just you win
a couple and he's electric. Maybe it saves your job.
I mean, John Harbaugh is you know, probably more likely
to be the coach at USC next year than the Ravens.

(01:08:34):
I mean his job. You think we talked about Mike
McCarthy all the time. He's his owner said last year
he thought about firing him. So that they're not gonna
make the playoffs this year, you might as well throw
Lamar out there and hope you get kind of lightning
in a bottle. Because I was an r G three.
Was was good in the preseason, but he's barely played
over the last couple of years. To expect him to
I mean, you probably just get smoked. If you throw

(01:08:56):
him out there, at least Lamar, you're playing the band.
You're playing the worst defense in the league. Now I
would I would just throw if Lamar is healthy. I mean,
if he's if he has a food or something, you're
just setting him up to fail. But if he's, if
he's close to I would just hopefully catch lightning in
the bottle. Like look again, flam I don't think Lamar

(01:09:17):
is any good. Let's let's get to the game that
really does matter Monday night. They moved it to l
a UM. But but I and and you'll have a
high heavily motivated Uh, Marcus Peters, but he has gotten exposed.
And uh, this is a team where you might you
get caught looking in the backfield, you might get burned

(01:09:38):
by twenty yards and then you know they lose Cooper
Cup who he's not their best wide receiver, but he's
really important to how they play and what they do.
Give me your thoughts on Kansas City coming into l
A take on the Rams. He's like golf. You know
Edelman to what he was a couple of years ago.
To Brady, Uh, what do you think that the crowd? Wise?

(01:09:59):
You know this l A coliseum. Is it gonna be
a lot of red in the crowd? Yeah, like people killed,
like people kill the Chargers, like the Rams. Like, yeah,
there's Rams fans or whatever. But we've all become fans
of other teams, and most people moved here from somewhere
else and we had like twenty years to follow other teams.
At least the Rams were here before. Right. The Chargers

(01:10:21):
things hard because they're playing in They're playing in Raiders
territory right more than anything, and they were the rival
of the Raiders. So people are a little bit under
But yeah, it'll be, it'll be. I'd say fifty fifty
Chiefs fans are gonna show up. I'd say they'll I
think that just if you just put it in a vacuum,
what team would I bet on just playing any team
in the NFL on neutral field. I think the Chiefs

(01:10:42):
are just a little bit better. Uh though, I do
think the Chiefs defense, while it's been a little bit better,
the McVeigh and the Rams should be able to score
pretty easily on you know, on them. And at the
end of the day, like Aaron Donald just seems to
make some big place for him, even when their defense
is getting smoked. And like, like you said, I don't
know what you do with Marcus Peters. He definitely cannot

(01:11:03):
run with Tyreek Hill. You know you put him on
Sammy Watkins. How do you cover Kelsey? And he's probably
the best coach in the league at Colins screens. That's
why Kareem Hunt. You know, I think he has like
nine touchdowns the last two years. I mean, so it
is girly. Girly has a ton just a fantastic modern day.
You know, it's like two elite three point shooting teams
Now in the NBA, the score might be a hundred

(01:11:24):
thirty five. That's that's what it feels like this game.
It's you think, I mean, even take away the quarterbacks,
Tyreek Hill, Kelsey, Aaron Donald. You have to sell three
and out is the podcast. John Minelkoff does it every
week in the Herd Podcast Network. John, appreciate you time.
Love talking Warrior hoop with you as well as football.

(01:11:45):
Thanks for joining us. Have a good week at Doug Ship.
Here here's Dan Buyer with what else is going on
in the world sports? But he got damn yeah. A
couple of quick things in l A on Sunday, Joey
Bosa of the Chargers considered questionable to make his season
debut against the Broncos because of his foot injury. You
guys talk Ravens. Joe Flacco doubtful for that game against
the Bengals because of his hip injury. The Cal Stanford
college football game that was set for Saturday rescheduled for

(01:12:08):
December one because of poor air quality of the Bay area.
And this just in, Doug s I reporting that Less
Miles close to becoming the new head football coach at Kansas,
with an announcement coming as soon as this weekend. Wow,
former of Oklahoma State head coach and football and a
former local state player and Oclahoma State assistant in basketball.
Actor comedian Rob Briggi joins the show. Coming next course

(01:12:31):
sees a Kansas City native, and the Chiefs fan will
ask him about the showdown with the Rams next. Be

(01:12:53):
car buying experience. He's an actor, he's a comedian, He's
a former marine. He's Rob Riggil. He's joining us on
behalf of Applebee's. Rob has been partnering with Applebee's to
support military heroes, serving free meals nationwide this past Sunday
and on our Veterans Day, Rob, take me back to
when you were a marine, because the non veteran myself,
I always wondered, Um, when people celebrate Veterans Day, did

(01:13:17):
you feel the respect that you deserve? Oh? Yeah, yeah,
I think so. I think we learned a lot of
lessons from the Vietnam War, um. And I think I
think it was unfortunately the Vietnam veterans were treated poorly, um.
And I think Americans learned a lesson from that. And

(01:13:39):
and now I think, you know, the the whole narrative
has changed, and I think people kind of understand that,
you know, the military doesn't choose its battles, they just
go fight them. Um. You know, so if you got
a problem with that, picking up with the government, um.
And so I think people will stopping stop beating up
on veterans. And they've actually been very gracious towards veterans,

(01:13:59):
so um and Applebee's, who would you mentioned earlier? I
think they do. Uh, I think they do a great job.
You know, they stepped up and they've been supporting vectors
at least for the last eleven years. They've been giving
out free meals on Vetchans Day, which is which is
always nice. There's a lot of veterans to appreciate that.
You are obviously a noted cheese fans cheese fan. Uh.

(01:14:21):
If anyone's ever heard you interviewed about sports, you mentioned it, um,
when we watch your NFL Sunday picks, you mentioned it.
When I've seen you on other radio shows, TV shows,
you mentioned it. So I gotta ask you big controversy
of the week, Pat Mahomes catch up? Uh? Was it?
Catch up on macaroni and cheese? Dicey? Catchup on macaroni

(01:14:41):
and Che's that you cannot possible as much as you like,
any football fan or cheese fan can approve of Pat Mahomes.
Please don't tell me you approve of that meal. I'll
be honest. This is the first time hearing of it,
So I don't, I haven't, I don't know the context.
But let me let me just break it down. Um,
if Pat and my homes says it's good, friend, it's good.

(01:15:06):
But on mac and cheese, listen, I've never had it.
I've never had I've never had it. I've never even
had I've never even had the inclination to even try it.
But guess what now I'm going to because he's onto something,
he's playing light out. It's got to be the mac
and cheese would catch up. Gotta be. That's true love
for your football team when you can support that type

(01:15:28):
of meal. What's the what's the weirdest thing you like
to eat? We'gest thaying I like to eat? Um, God,
I think it was probably when I when I was
a kid, I used to eat oreos and oreos and
white bread. Okay, by the way, I got I got
a bone to pick with you. I saw somewhere you

(01:15:50):
made your final four picks and somehow you managed to
leave the Kansas Jayhawks out of your final four pick.
So either you must have been sick with the flu
or delirious, or a mule kicked you in the head.
But okay, do you want to hear the logic you
wanna hit the logic behind it? Please? Okay, the logic

(01:16:12):
behind it is this selves a friend. I think he's awesome,
and this team, if whole, should absolutely be considered a
Final four team and still very may well make it.
Um My issue is I'm guessing this SUSA doesn't play
probably at all again, or if he does, you know,
he's got to pay some sort of restitution. And even

(01:16:35):
though it seems to be business as usual for all
these schools, I just, you know, being linked to the
FBI thing, having assistant coach who's on the tape, even
if there is no smoking gun on the tape, it
feels like it's not over, even though it is over,
and I feel like there will be some sort of
distraction kind of headed their way that I just I

(01:16:56):
don't I don't want to be a guy who's who's
telling you that the storm is and because I don't
know if it's a storm coming. But that's the that's
the thing that that holds me back. If they had
all of their guys and if none of this had
been going on, then yeah, they'd be a Final four pick.
This is one of his teams that can get there,
that can win the whole thing, and they're they're probably
one of the few teams talent enough to be Duke,

(01:17:17):
and they have experienced that Duke doesn't have. But I
just there's something and then you know, like, look, drich
Lawson is a good player, but he's never really played
meaningful basketball in his two years at Memphis, and I
wonder how he'll react in this type of leadership role
when they get to the most important time of the season.
So there's some things there that I would hold against them,

(01:17:38):
but most of it is there's just something smokey where
I don't know if there's a full bone fire or
if it's just something that can easily be put out,
and that that's the only thing that's holding hold me
back from putting them in there. Well, listen, I saw
Duke play. They're powerful, no one can deny that. Uh,
But this Jr Team is deep. They're deep. They're deep

(01:17:59):
like per that've never seen them. So I think they've
got a really good shot and make in the final four.
You know, it's the same thing that I would say
about your Chiefs, right, is that, Look, I think this
team is different than Andy Reid's previous teams because they
didn't trust Alex Smith to throw the football downfield, And
to anyone who says, you know, look at the five
the last five losses are at home for the for

(01:18:22):
the Chiefs, and they lost the last five home games
in the playoffs. Um, Andy Reid did get to what
was it, five NFC championship games in the super Bowl
in in in Philadelphia, and that's with inferior quarterback play
to what he has. But until they do it, you know,
I gotta be proven wrong because we've been proven right
about Andy Reid in the playoffs, even going back to

(01:18:43):
last year, how do how do you when you see them,
are you convinced that this is the year and it's
not going to be like so many previous years. Well, listen, uh, yeah,
this is a different Chiefs team. You gotta take each
season as they come. So yeah, this is a different
Chiefs team. Um. And they look their nine and one,

(01:19:03):
they're they're they're a juggernaut. They're a powerhouse if people
stay healthy. I like that. I like our odds as
well as any anybody else who want to put up again, anybody,
even the Patriots, even whoever you want to put up there.
I think we compete with anybody. So as far as
this year, goes and and all the stuff in the past,

(01:19:24):
all that stuff in the past doesn't equal to future.
So the future is Patrick Mahomes. It is this team.
The Chiefs are gonna be around for a while. All right.
Last thing, dudes, give you. Dudes, give you the business
for the comedy bits that you put on every week
on Fox NFL Sunday. Um, how hard is that to do?
To every week come up with a bit with your

(01:19:46):
picks you have, like you have some great stuff in
your comedic career, But to every week do it? How
difficult is it? Yeah, it's not the easiest thing in
the world because it's a very narrow lane with which
to do comedy. It has to be uh g rated
not even really PG like more g rated. Uh, it
has to be two minutes. Um, I gotta make I

(01:20:09):
gotta pick two teams, an underdog in a favorite uh
and then uh I've got to try to make do
some yucks without upsetting anybody. Right. Uh So yeah, it's
it's a challenge, but it's it's a fun challenge. So
I definitely have a good time. All right, Now, we
do a great job. Thanks so much for what you
do for veterans and you've being a veteran yourself. Appreciate
the time you spent uh taking care of our country

(01:20:30):
and uh well, well let's catch a KU game in person.

you can get better tickets. So anytime you need somebody

and you want to you want to buy into the Chiefs.
But how many Chiefs games do you have to see
in the playoffs where in spite of the fact they
have an incredible home field advantage, they've had a good

(01:21:13):
defense in the past, they've had a good offense, they've
had a good regular season record, they've had all these things,
they haven't been able to win in the playoffs. How
do you had rationalize that. I guess you say, well,
Pat Mahomes is awesome, and even though their defense is
worse than it's been, Pat Mahomes is awesome, all right.
Coming up next, Daniel Jeremiah from the NFL Network will
join us. I'm gonna ask him how much blame should

(01:21:37):
Aaron Rodgers get? How much blame should Mike McCarthy get.
There is a point to you're at your own thirty
three yard line, don't you punt? Try and get a
stop and then get the football back. But in the
general sense, how much of it is a lack of creativity?
How much of his lack of fundamentals? Plus, we gotta
kind of peruse around the National Football League and figure
out can the Colts make a run? Can the Cowboys

(01:21:58):
make a run? Who can make a run of those
final wild card spots? And uh, I got some upsets,
some picks this weekend the NFL that I think we'll
even the score. My college football record has been fantastic,

Uh yeah. I called Stephen a studio gangster on Twitter.
Don't care the whole like, oh, he would have come
at me if I would have asked him about about
the question about Draymond Green, and he said, I didn't
don't ask that question anymore, Like no, wouldn't have. Rondo

(01:23:03):
called you a punk gass reporter and you did nothing.
Stop with the studio gangster act, the media, the fake media,
tough guy, hold me back guy like that is it's
just a tired, really cool TV caricature that you want
to create. I noticed Draymond said, I'm not gonna take
any questions about it. Nobody asked him any questions. If

(01:23:23):
they would ask him a question, he would have said,
and he got a story to do. But I'm not
answering any questions on it. The you know, everybody gets
tougher when there's a eye everybody it gets tougher and
gets you know, TV steroids, when you're in the steri
environment of a studio in New York or in l A.

(01:23:47):
And out there in the real world. Look, there are
some people I've done it where I will I don't
know his talk. Try I will give my honest opinion
on somebody and then see them in person. And if
they come up and there compatively go like, look that's
my opinion of it, you can, okay, prove me wrong.
Today I'm broadcasting from Blacksburg, Virginia, ahead of tomorrow's Miami

(01:24:08):
Virginia Tech game. Our Fall Football Tours brought you by
Granger for Safety and Industrial Supplies. Grangers Got our back.
Visit Grangers, Visit Granger dot com. Springing Daniel Jeremiah from
the NFL Network and also covers the l A Chargers
on radio dj UM. Let's let's start with Aaron Rodgers.
How much of what went wrong last night is his fault?

(01:24:31):
How much of it is Mike McCarthy's fault. Well, I
would probably put more of it on McCarthy, just just
for the This is the way the offense is geared
and the way the offense is set up. But I
don't think that Rogers is blameless as some would believe.
He ran himself into several sacks in that game, just
here to the ball man. Uh. That's something that frustrates

(01:24:51):
me a little bit when I watched him and he
missed some guys too. There are some vision things, some
things that he missed, so he wasn't playing at its
highest level. But if you're gonna place more blame to me,
if you're gonna put a percentage on it, I would
put it, uh probably on coaching Rogers. But you know what,
if you don't agree with that, we can fight. You know,
yeah we can. We can totally fight, but only in person,

(01:25:14):
not in student Well we'll talk trash, you know, behind
microphones and be be a lot tougher that way. I
do think one of the missed stories, because we're so
ingrained to talk about Rogers and McCarthy, I kind of
think Pet Carroll has done an amazing job this year. Right,
Like they were in those Rams games, right, there's been
there haven't been. They were in the Charger, I know,

(01:25:35):
the charger, you called it, and they left seven points
on the field with their kicking game. But they did
have Russell Wilson with the ball, a chance to tie
it up and ball that was deflected late. Like, considering
all of the departures the dysfunction within the offensive line
last year, were shot Penny taking half a season to
come around. Um, all the massive injuries that they've they've suffered.
You know, Doug Baldwin was hurting the preseason, like, They've

(01:25:57):
done a really nice job in Seattle. And they're not terrible. No,
they're not terrible at all. And it's interesting the way
they're doing it. Um. You know, look, they're just saying
we're gonna run, run, run, run, run. They know their
offensive line cannot pass protect, so instead of beating your
head against the wall, um and wishing and hoping for
something that can't happen, they're just running it. And all
they're putting they're playing action games is what Russell Wilson

(01:26:18):
does best, so not having to throw it a cun
but he's being efficient hitting some big plays down the
field off that play action. Defensively, you know, they primarily
they rushed four guys. They play coverage. They try and
keep the ball in front of you, and you saw
that pass rush get home. But trying to limit the
big plays down the field and then and then run
the football. It's kind of an old school approach. I
don't you know. Look, if they will somehow get into

(01:26:40):
the playoffs, I don't think that they would be as
dangerous as they were back in the day. But what
they're getting out of what they have is I think
it's one of Pete Carroll's best coaching jobs. I don't
think there's any question about it. I agree with you, Doug,
got them show here on Fox Sports Radio. Let's let's
bounce around the NFL a little bit. Does feel does
feel like the Cowboys have a shot, right Falkins are

(01:27:03):
all beat up, they got no defense. Then the Skins
come in next week and the Skins are all banged
up defensively. I'm not not a big buyer into them.
Like it feels like the Cowboys this is their uh.
The golf expression is moving day on on Saturdays. Feels
like Sunday's moving day, that they're going home or they
got a shot at this thing. Agree or disagree? No,
I agree with to. I think both Dallas and Philadelphia

(01:27:23):
still have a shot. And when you look at the schedules,
I mean, I know, uh, you know, Philadelphia has got
a tough one this week. I think they'll lose to
the Saints. I think they'll loose to the Rams. But
the magic number is nine. Somehow get to nine wins,
which would mean philadephiao have to run the table and
their other games Dallas their schedules a little bit more favorable, uh,
and Washington schedules brutal. I mean, I could definitely see

(01:27:44):
Washington lose their next three games, starting with the text
in this week, just because the injuries they have along
the offensive line. So I think it's just gonna be
whoever can get to that nine win Mark and the
Cowboys just they if they use the formula they used
last week again it was their defense, just line around,
generated turnover or too uh and then run the ball
short in the game, They've they've got a chance, no question. Um,

(01:28:07):
let's get to the Philadelphiagles. How can they be fixed? Well,
you know, it's it's interesting there. They'll uh timmy journey
and coming back eventually, I think will help them a
little bit at the line of scrimmage. Um. But you know,
they've had so many injuries on the offensive line and
the secondary, which was on the outside. Uh, you know,
it wasn't playing well before injury, and now you add

(01:28:28):
injury on top of that and you look at who
they have to play. I mean, like I said, I
kind of pencil on the two losses with the Saints
and the Rams. Uh. That means they have to be clean.
That means they have to run the table on the
remainder of their games to get to that nine wind mark.
So that's a that's a tough, a tough hurdle for them.
And they've you know, they've got they've got some issues
they need to address in the off season. They've got
some ads there at left tackle with with Peters, I

(01:28:50):
think that might be it for him. Um, and they
need to get better at corner. They're just not good
enough out there. There's too much space. Okay, let's get
to the Saints. Are they in fact the best team
in football? I think so? You know, I think so.
I think when you look at what they did, you know,
what they've done going total toe with some good teams. Um,
you know, look, I do. Are they perfect? No? I
think with Armstead out and now you know with Dave

(01:29:12):
Report out for a little bit here their defensive end
that hurts them along the line of scrimmage. I just
think the team is built inside that dome and uh,
and they've handled their business and won some key road games.
That looks like they could be headed towards being in
that dome for for the playoffs. And I don't see
anybody going there and beating them in the playoffs if
they have home field advantage. Daniel Jeremiah from the NFL
and Network Moved the Sticks is is the podcast And

(01:29:35):
there's a local reporter who tracked every one of Tom
Brady's passes last week. And it wasn't a good report.
It wasn't like he was Tebow in it. But for
for Tom Brady, it was it was kind of Tebow
like in terms of his missrs, lack of lack of
arm strength. How long has this been going is this
is this is a one weekend thing or is this
been going on for a while. That's tricky because in

(01:29:56):
that game, and you go back and watch it, a
lot of his misses he's, uh, he's protecting himself, so
he's turning his shoulder and just trying to break for
a hit and he's sacrificing a completion in the process.
So when they when they've heated him up. He's protecting himself. Now,
is that something that's uh, you know, it's it's going
to be an issue for him going forward. That's one

(01:30:16):
way to look out. The other way to look at it.
He knows his true value to this team and if
they if they lose a regular season game in the process,
and he protects himself, then that's probably the smart way
to go about doing it. But that is definitely something
to keep an eye on because he had a choice,
I mean, had a choice to to expose his chest
and get completions or tuck his shoulder and protect himself
and throw the ball away, and and uh and miss

(01:30:37):
I should say not throw it away, and he chose
to protect himself. So that's just something to keep an
eye on. That was not something I've seen a lot
of this year, but it was definitely the case in
that Tennessee game. Give me your perspective on Mitch Robinski. Obviously,
the defense getting Kalil Mack is dynamic. They're facing off
of the Viking is a pretty good defense when healthy

(01:30:57):
in its own right. Uh, Rabinsky has some worts in
terms of accuracy. He is a really, really good athlete,
but they've played a very very soft schedule. How good
is Drabiski? Well, I think he's playing well now. I
think there's a lot of things that go into that.
And I think when you look at the design that
they've had, um is a big part of it. And
I think you look at they've got guys that can

(01:31:18):
win one on one now, Um, so he's finding one
on ones and uh and and he's he's got guys
that are winning. Allen Robinson went off last week. Anthony
Miller is a good route unner who generates some space. Um,
he's got those backs you know, three Cohen come out
of the backfield. It's somebody they can create space. So, um,
you know the way the NFL is played right now, Doug,
I just feel like you watch teams that are doing well,

(01:31:39):
they find a way to create space, and they do
that with play cooling, but they also do that with
guys that are sudden and guys that can separate. And
you see some teams that are struggling. Usually you can
place the blame and in both those areas. So he's
playing well, but I think a lot of it has
to do with what they've done around him. That's the
voice of Daniel Jeremiah, who covers the l A charge.

(01:31:59):
I want to ask you about the Chargers. Looks like
they're gonna get Joey Bosa back, whether it's this weekend
or next weekend, that changed them for the better. On
the other hand, they lose Perriman. They're starting middle linebacker.
When last year when they didn't have him the start
of the year, they were awful. So are they Are
they better or worse with with Bosa without Praman, Yeah,
they're gonna be better. Um, you know, just because bos

(01:32:21):
is such a he's such a game change and talent.
Even if you have him for third downs for a
couple of weeks, um, and he's just getting a twelve
fifteen snaps, he just he treakes so much value because
it's gonna free up Melvin Ingram one on one, I'll
take movin Ingram over everybody he's gonna see, so that's
gonna loosen him up. And then with Andrew at the
linebacker position. Perman really well and they rely on him

(01:32:44):
so much. But I think now they've have they have
better depth and better talent up front in front of him,
and they've done a nice job I guess Gus Bradley credit.
They're just playing dime. Uh, he's realized that Adrian Phillips
pounds is a better option than than playing Uh. You know,
you got hates Pillar who's two or thirty five pounds.
So it's been you know, Plart will play a little bit,

(01:33:04):
but they've just gone with a better player instead of saying,
you know what, this guy's gotta lb next to his name,
this guy's got a safety next to his name. Let's
just get our best guys on the field. And I'd
much rather have a linebacker basically is what he's playing
in Phillips who can run and cover all day long.
And might you know, maybe you give up a seven
eight yard run here there as opposed to a linebacker
who struggles to cover you get you get uncovered real

(01:33:25):
real quick, and you get exposed. If that happens you
You used to work in Baltimore in the front office there.
What's your sense of what they do this weekend with
Flacco Banga. I think it will be an audition for
for Lamar Jackson. I really do. Obviously I'll be shocked
if it's RG three. Um it just you know, this
is this is a situation where John Harbon knows he
needs to make the playoffs, and if he doesn't make

(01:33:46):
the playoffs, he better at least have generate some excitement.
And um, you know, we'll see if that can work
with Lamar Jackson. I'm I'm anxious to just see what
what the offense looks like with him. Um, but I
thought he would get an audition at some point time
this year. I would imagine if he if he does
play well in this game. I don't know that Joe
Flacco would get his job back. Now that's a big if.

(01:34:07):
I have to wait and see, but I think I
think we'll get a look at him this week. Awesome stuff. DJ.
By the way, I will be in the booth next
to you guys next weekend, so I'll be doing the radio. Yeah. So,
how wasn't How did it go? Give me? I know
you probably talked about give me the cliffs notes? How
to go with Baldi? Last week? Oh? Baldi was great?
I mean Baldi was so good. Um I was. I

(01:34:30):
thought I got progressively better. I've listened to some of
it and I walked away thinking I was really bad. Um.
I don't know how you thought after your first game,
doing your first game on radio, I just I don't know.
I felt I was it was such a foreign feeling
and um, I walked away thinking I got better, but
I wasn't that good. And then but I said, if

(01:34:52):
I get another shot, I know exactly what I need
to do and how I can do it, and um.
And then I listened to it and I was like,
know what it wasn't wasn't that bad? I don't know. Yeah,
I mean I thought it was bad. Like I was like, man,
I don't want to even listen to it. And then
I did Petros and money Um earlier in the week
and they played some of it and I was like,

(01:35:13):
that's not bad. That's actually decent. And I had a
friend who listened was like, oh it was it was
good and I was like, no way, it was not good.
So but Bald he's the best. I mean, he knows everybody.
He knows everybody, he knows that what's coming before it's coming,
he does his homework, he's great to work with. There's
I mean, it was amazing. So we'll be there a
week from Sunday with Arizona taken on the Chargers. We'll

(01:35:35):
be at StubHub I love it. Man. Well, the I'll
tell you what. Uh the press of meal was on me, buddy. Uh,
there you go, thank you. I actually liked the little
food trucks they have for people who haven't been to
a Charger game. They actually have food trucks inside the stadium.
I don't know if they normally have those there for
when soccer is there, because I've never been to soccer,
but it's actually kind of a cool thing that they have, uh,
for for the Charges and they played stop up. Thanks

(01:35:57):
so much for joining us, and we'll talk to you soon. See.
By the way, lack of lock of the week, I'm

(01:38:29):
coming here. I knew like two months ago Miami Virginia
Tech could be under the lights Lane Stadium still go
Lane Stadium be in the afternoon, but v Tech has
had a bunch of injuries and just been disappointing offensively
in Miami. Have you ever been you've been the Lane stadium,
I have not. No, that's one of those bucket list stadiums.

(01:38:50):
I'd love to be but yet, but unfortunately I would
have to change network. So I'm not gonna be doing
that anytime soon, at least hopefully not. No, you're good.
You're good. I mean, they got you doing golf now,
so I think you're pretty what you do, Like listen
doing Michigan, Ohio State, you know, in Oklahoma, Texas and
all those games, like that's one thing. You start doing

(01:39:12):
golf now, you know they really like you. That's that's
that's right there. That is the true sign. Joel. By
the way, this week will be calling Indiana at Michigan.
Any any thoughts that Michigan who they did final score?
They beat the hell out of Rutgers, but it wasn't
as impressive as in the past. How is Michigan in

(01:39:33):
terms of of of concentrating on the now and not
worrying about that Ohio State game that's in the future. Yeah,
they seem too. And we just got done, you know,
meeting with them, and they they're at least saying all
the right things the email as well as I do,
you know, regardless of sport. It's really easy to talk
to talk, it's really difficult to walk the walk when
it comes to focus. And I thought that Jim Harbaugh

(01:39:55):
brought up an interesting point in our meetings today at
least and and he said, you know, it's not about
what I do or say for any of these players.
And he says, regardless of the competition, uh, your ability
to focus in your desire to succeed is an individual thing.

(01:40:16):
Each player chooses how much he wants to focus, how
hard he wants to play, and for how long. And
I was like, wow, you know, I had never heard that.
In all my years of playing and covering sports, I've
never heard a coach talked about it as an individual
decision that way. I've heard a lot of guys talk
about the collective, you know, obviously, and I'm sure you
have to um, but I thought it was an interesting

(01:40:36):
way to put it. And and candidly, I think that
that's resonating with this group because there's a lot of
really talented individual players out there. I'm not saying that
they're playing as individuals, but the desire to compete at
your best at all times is an individual decision. And
I thought that was an interesting perspective. I don't know
if you've heard anything like that, but I wanted to
share that because I thought it was so unique. No,

(01:40:57):
I think it's great, and I think you know, you're
you're not going to connect with every player, but if
you connect with enough of them and they have that
kind of talent, uh, there is the buy in. Um. Oh,
you know, the Ohio State game is still a couple
of weeks away, but I've you know, and you and
I have talked about Ohio State being a little bit
a little bit off. Can Ohio State get it back together?

(01:41:19):
And that game is in the in the shoe as
you know because you're broadcasted. Um, is Ohio State capable
of beating Michigan? Yes, listen, I mean they're so talented.
They haven't played their best, but you know, after last
week and I got to see them up close and personal,
and I always, you know, ask you and and make
the analogies back to basketball. But you've seen I'm sure,

(01:41:43):
really talented teams that some days play great defense, other
days they don't. Some days they shoot the rock incredibly well,
other days they don't. One one game, you know, they've
got twenty five thirty assists another game they have eight
and and Ohio State has been like that this season.
They've just been inconsistent. We've seen them win with four

(01:42:05):
hundred yard passing games, We've seen them win with two
and fifty yard rushing games. We've seen them run uh
or excuse me, compete with incredible defense like they did
a week ago. But we haven't seen them play their
complete game. And if I was a Michigan fan, Doug candidly,
that would make me a bit nervous because the last
thing I would want ohiw State to do is to
figure it out all of a sudden at the end

(01:42:27):
of the year and play their best game at home
um against the Wolverines. I'm gonna listen. I think that
Michigan is is the favorite and should be. They've played
better for the entire to this season. They're nine games
that they've been on. This nine game winning streak has
been as impressive as any out there. But Ohio State
still has a lot of potential, and if they figure
it out and play a complete game, then they're they're

(01:42:49):
certainly capable of beating Michigan. What do you think would
happen in Houston last night. That was interesting, wasn't it?
And and I I thought, I really thought that Major
Apple White came away from that looking really good. I
don't know what your thoughts were, but I I did too.
Let me let me just ask John Ramos real quick, Ramas,
do we have the sound of major app Apple White.

(01:43:11):
We don't have the sound of Major rap White for
people don't know Major app of White. Um, you know
he has what at Oliver's arguably the best defensive player.
Him and Boast are the two best defensive players, the
top two or three defensive Okay, so Oliver has not
played the past couple of games because he's hurt, even
though he's catching passes in warmups. But okay, maybe he's hurt.

(01:43:33):
And so Houston has some policy. They have some jackets
that can only be worn by active players on the sidelines.
He is an inactive player who's in Houston red sweats,
and apparently he was wearing a jacket. Apple White looked
like he tried to tell him somebody told him to
take off the jacket. Apple I tried to physically take
the jacket off of him. The kid got mad. When
they were walking out the field at halftime, they had words.

(01:43:53):
It's kind of uncomfortable. Then after the game, major rap
of white, you know, kind of talk down the situations like, look,
I was I'm just trying to be fair. Anybody who
was who was injured didn't have the jacket on, and
you know, he's made some mistakes. I played, I made
mistakes and it's just something we'll learn through. He just
kind of downplayed it, but go ahead, I'm sorry, no,
I listen. That was a great explanation for those that

(01:44:14):
that hadn't heard about it or hadn't understood it. And
and I don't think that he was all that um,
you know, out of line and asking ed to take
it off. And I didn't think he was. You know, yeah,
he did try to kind of physically kind of brushed
it off of his shoulder. I didn't think it was
it was malicious by any means. And that's what a
coach has to do. He's got to be fair. He's

(01:44:35):
got to be fair in particular with an older player.
And you know what Tom Hermis went Tom Herman went
through this a couple of weeks ago. A lot of
times when you're disciplining or or holding older players to
the same standard as everybody else. You're not doing that
necessarily for their benefit, Doug, but you're doing that so
that you don't lose the freshman for the rest of

(01:44:56):
his four years. Because the last thing you want to
do is allow a fresh shman to see some guy
get away with anything he wants because he's good. And
now that kid thinks he's good, and he's going to
be a nightmare for the rest of his four years
at Houston. I think that was the exact problem that
Kevin someone had had at Texas A and M. When
you let Johnny Menzel run rough shot over the program
and then all of a sudden, Johnny was gone and

(01:45:17):
everybody thought that they could run rough shot over the program. Um. So,
so Major is doing the right thing, saying, hey, you know,
this is our policy. I don't care who you are,
this is our policy. And and Ed I think got
caught up in the moment. I'm sure he would want
it back, and if he doesn't find that's his prerogative. Um,
But you know, I'm sure it's something that that he's

(01:45:37):
gonna learn from. I thought it was an unfortunate incident that,
quite frankly, is gonna come up when he talks with
NFL decision makers. And you might roll your eyes when
you hear me say that. You're wherever you're at, in
your car and your cupical, wherever you're at, and you're
listening to you're thinking, what do you mean? I mean,
it's a it's a little thing. But here's the little thing.
It's very different from a Baker Mayfield gradgen his grabbing

(01:45:59):
his crops and the heat of the moment towards the opponent. Okay,
And the reason is is because it wasn't a specific
This sounds crazy, but Lincoln Riley didn't come up to
Baker and say, hey, don't grab your crotch and then
he did it right after that. It wasn't a direct
disobedience of a coach's rule. Now, you could say it's
just the wrong thing to do. Yes, Now you can

(01:46:20):
chalk it up to immaturity, and you can chalk it
up the heat of the moment. But the thing with
Ed is more of a direct program rule. And that's
the reason he's going to be asked about it is
because Doug, they're gonna say, like, hey, are you gonna
be a problem? Do you feel like you're above the rules?
Do you feel like your talent sets you apart from
the standard that everybody else has held to. A long

(01:46:40):
answer to tell you, I think it's going to be
more of a problem for ED moving forward. And I
thought Major actually handled it incredibly well, not only during
the fact, but after the fact as well. I would
a perfect explanation, and I would only add to it
this idea. And I know Christian McCaffrey didn't play in
the ball game, but this idea, and this is the
problem when you get two guys not playing in bowl

(01:47:01):
games is if you say, well it's meaningless bowl games,
like all right, well, which of these games after you
lose to are in fact meaningful? Right? They should all
be because they're your team either your friends. More than anything,
you should have a private of a player. I just
wonder about the guys who I play when I want
to play. I play when it benefits me. If I'm
writing a big check and somebody else's big check and

(01:47:25):
my job depends on his success, does play when I
want to play? Thing? It doesn't sit well with me
and I and I realized the reality of professional sports
is that you got to motivate all different types of guys.
But that doesn't sit well with me. It just doesn't
um and I know other guys in the NFL that
it doesn't sit well with the play with play when
I want to play thing, you know, nick Boss hurt.

(01:47:47):
I still think Nick Boss should have hung around campus,
could rehab there and if he was right, if not,
just be a great teammate. That's one the only thing
I ever get on my son about is are you
being a good teammate? Right? Because nobody he wants to,
nobody wants to look over the dugout or look over
at the bench, and some guy is completely concerned with
himself his own welfare and not during the time you're

(01:48:08):
a member of the team. Be part of the team.
I just don't like the I play when I want
to play. And I think this kid is healthy, and
I think that's part of what what what? What set
this entire situation to flammable mode. I don't disagree. I
don't disagree. I think that and you and I, you know,
we could probably debate and talk about the amateur model forever,

(01:48:30):
you know, and I know that you and I are
on different sides of that that discussion. But I would say,
and this is not in defense of my position. I
am just saying, though, that the current model lends itself
towards situations like this. The fact that ed All Oliver
has to arbitrarily be in school this year and a
part of the Houston Cougars and not a rookie in

(01:48:51):
the National Football League when he's clearly ready for it,
you know, leads to this scenario. The fact that this
is one of only two skills in our tree that
you can't monetize until an arbitrary point in time that
is negotiated for you, but you not being you know,
at that bargaining table, lends itself to the fact that

(01:49:12):
he's got to protect that lottery ticket, you know, to
some degree. So our current system is going to continue
to provide situations where we are talking about this, you know,
the Nick Bosa's and Net Oliver's and Christian McCaffrey's of
the world. Great stuff. We'll we'll look forward to hearing
the call Indiana Michigan that's on Fox this weekend, getting

(01:49:34):
ready for the Big Game. If everybody does what they're
supposed to do in two weeks on Big Fox, Ohio
State Michigan, Joel Clad, it's gonna be awesome, thanks for
joining us. Appreciate your time. Man, Thank you. Doug gotlip
show here on Fox Sports Radio. Let's get you to
dan Fire find out what else is going on the
world of sports. Tebe what he got, Doug. A big
rivalry game in college football that was supposed to happen

(01:49:54):
on Saturday, won't. Cal Stanford's gonna be moved because the
wild fire on the field, the badges on the field, well,
no one will be on the field Saturday, poor nobody's
on the field, poor air quality in the Bay Area
because of the camp fire, the wildfire in northern California,
forcing the game to be moved to Saturday, December one.

(01:50:17):
What's interesting about that. Obviously it's an open date for
both schools, but the Pac twelve title game is actually
gonna be played the day before, on Friday, November Now,
the team going to be representing the North in that contest,
so they'll make up the game on Saturday, December one.
Another note from college football Sports Illustrated reporting that Les
Miles soon will be the next head coach at Kansas,

(01:50:40):
with an announcement coming as soon as this weekend. And
the NFL Joe Flacco doubtful to play against the Bengals
as the Ravens quarterback has a hip injury, so it's
likely to either be Robert Griffin the third or rookie
Lamar Jackson. Joey Bosa questionable for the Chargers to make
his season debut Sunday against Denver. He's trying to return
from a foot injury. Packers Ted and Jimmy Graham broke

(01:51:02):
his thumb during last night's lost to the Seahawks. No
word on how long he will be out. Bucks have
the Bulls tonight in the NBA and walking forward John
Henton out three months because he needs surgery to repair
a torn ligament in his left wrist, and Dante DiVincenzo,
the Bucks rookie's gonna miss three games he has a
strained quad. In college basketball, number sixteen Virginia Tech top

(01:51:22):
Northeastern eight eight to sixty, while at the start of
the second half Oregon ranked thirteen, leads Number fifteen Syracuse
thirty five to twenty two. Doug Doug Gottlim Show, Fox
Sports Radio. I'm broadcasting from Blacksburg, Virginia Tomorrow's Miami Virginia
Tech game. I'll be there. It's all part of our
fall football tour. But to buy Granger for safety and

(01:51:43):
industrial supplies. Grangers get your back, visit Granger dot coms.
Get to some picks I won't winner. Well, we got
him five NFL five college it's five for five, which
Doug Gotlan Let's go. Five college picks have been on
fire and thirteen this year. NFL picks on below five hundred.

(01:52:04):
We're gonna get right this week. We were won three
and one last week, moving us down below five at
eight and one overall thirty four and one. Not bad.
We'll take it. Doug Gotlip show here on Fox Sports Radio.
All right, let's get after it. Ohio State didn't play

(01:52:25):
great against Michigan State last week, but they did win.
They did cover that helped us. They've won two in
a row. Uh, their defense obviously let them down mightily
against Purdue. They're taken on a Maryland team that had
so much turmoil and it seemed like it's kind of
finally broken their back. Blown out by Michigan State, beaten

(01:52:46):
by Indiana on the road. Ohio State is a fourteen
point favorite. They will win, they will cover. Give me
the luck. Eyes do do Do Do Do Do do
do um. Let's stay in the Big Ten, shall we.
Nebraska seems to be figuring it out a little bit
after they dominated Illinois. Yes, they lost to a High State,

(01:53:08):
but it was close. Uh. They dominated Minnesota. They got
Buthune Cookman to get them right, They got Michigan State,
Michigan State. We mentioned the three home losses. That's one
of the reasons we picked against him. Last week. They
did beat Perdue at home, but produced kicking game, let
him down. I like this. I like where Nebraska is.

(01:53:30):
It's they're just playing for pride, playing out the string.
They are one point favorite that games on Fox. I'm
gonna take the Huskers to win and cover. Obviously it's
one point spread. Phasically pick them. Take the Huskers. M
m m m m m m m m. Boston College
heads into Florida State. Um. Look, Florida States a team.

(01:53:53):
They've lost three in a row. They were demolished by Clemson.
They weren't competitive at NC State. They had some moments
of being competitive against Notre Dame. Not sure people were.
They've actually lost four of their last five games. Only
close game recently was the Louisville game. I don't think
they're very good, and I do think Boston College is
not bad. Boston College one at Virginia Tech, showing their

(01:54:14):
ability to win on the road. Uh, they also won
at Wake Forest. I think Boston College wins. Boston College covers.
Give me a road favorite. NBC. They got a one
and a half point line. Do do Do Do Do
Do Do Do Do Do Do Do. Let's go down
to um done dune to. Oklahoma has taken on Kansas.

(01:54:38):
Les Mile is gonna be named the head coach. That's
just weird for David. David Beatty and the crew. Oklahoma win,
Oklahoma will cover. Give me the thirty four and a
half points. And I got one more picked for you,
and I really like this one. I'm glad I have
you waited on bated breath. They're sitting there going m
hm m hmm. I'm gonna pick my in Virginia Tech.

(01:55:01):
Virginia Tach just has too many injuries, too many injuries.
USC has taken on U C L a USC. It's
possible they're gonna fire Clay Hilton. Even though they've won
the Pack twelve the last two years, SC has lost
three out of four. I got that young quarterback in
j t. Daniels U c l A. On the other hand,
they're worse. They're two and eight on the year, but

(01:55:23):
they appear to have been more competitive. Um, you know,
I'm not taking that game. I'll take West Virginia to win,
West Virginia to cover. There's my college fix. I thought
I had it, and I just I couldn't do it.
I couldn't do it. Let's get to the pros. Houston's
taking on Washington. Redskins have all kinds of injuries. Houston's

(01:55:46):
won six in a row. Houston's gonna go into Washington
and get a win at FedEx. Give me Houston and
the points, Thank you very much. Did you guys know
Detroit was practicing outside even though they play inside this weekend.
That is the that I don't know what's going on there.
I don't know what's going on there, but I don't
feel like any of it's good. That's why I'm taking

(01:56:09):
the Carolina Panthers as four and a half point favorites
to win and to cover. Taking the Chargers already told
you about that one. Denver's crummy. They lost another offensive
lineman to a torn a c L today, and I
think the charge are gonna get Joey Bosta back at
least in limited instances this weekend. Um. I like Minnesota

(01:56:31):
on the road against Chicago, they're getting two and a
half points, and I like Philadelphia getting eight points at
New Orleans. I think that's gonna be. That's that's the
Eagles last stand. Give me the Eagles. Those my picks. Five.
There it is five, NFL five College five for five

(01:56:54):

Doug got Leap Show, Fox Sports Radio, hoping you have
a great weekend. Obviously, if you're listening to us and
there's been any sort of fire tragedy, are are It's
more our thoughts and prayers, Like dude, go out and
give some of your gear that you're not using, or
even stuff that you are using, because the people out there.
They don't have any homes. I mean that that fire

(01:57:41):
in northern California, I may just wiped out an entire
community just like that. I'm broadcasting from Blacksburg. They've seen
their own fair share of tragedy. But what a beautiful
campus walking around today ahead of Miami Virginia Tech. That's
our fall football Tour, brought to you by Granger with
Granger America's trusted source for dust supplies and safety products.

(01:58:02):
Visit Granger dot com for whatever you need, whenever you
need it. Granger for the ones that get it done.
Let's get to the product press. Dan byer Oh, we
got a new drop. I don't know. I don't like
it as much as the other ones, But well, what
are they gonna like your quarterback for the Ravens Because

(01:58:22):
it's probably not gonna be Joe Flacco Sunday. It's the
big story of the day as Flacco is considered doubtful
to take on the Bengals. So either Lamar Jackson or
Robert Griffin the third will get the start on Sunday.
Very long. Gotta be Robert, gotta be uh Lamar Jackson, right,
I mean, don't they take a shot at him. Yeah,
as long as he's healthy, I think that that's the guy.

(01:58:43):
That's just you know, r G three didn't play bad
in the preseason. R G three is a better quarterback.
He just is. But he's not first round pick. He
doesn't give you health. He doesn't give you hope. And
Lamar Jackson is gonna try and get them some hope.
That's what they're playing. Dig Green doubtful for that game
for Cincinnati. How about a Joey Bosa update. The Charges

(01:59:04):
defensive end listed as questionable to make his season debut
Sunday against the Broncos. Of course, hasn't played all season
long because of his foot injury. No, I have no
inside information that says he's gonna play. I just that
he played. He's able to practice this week on a
limited basis, making the practice field off for the first
time on Wednesday. Anthony Lynne even said then that he

(01:59:26):
had a shot at playing against Denver on on Sunday.
So we'll see if Joey Bosa makes his debut. The
Packers lost a game last night, but they also apparently
lost their tight end. We think Jimmy Graham broke his
thumb in the last night's game against the Seahawks. No
long on a no word on how long he'll be
out of action, Doug. But a broken left thumb for
Jimmy Graham. I think the thumbs are important, right they

(01:59:48):
now He's separate us from from from from other and
from other mammals. But they're also important catching a football correct?
That is correct? Yes, absolutely correct. And the Green Bay
Packers wide receiving corps needs as much help as they
can get because Ronald Allison placed on I. R. Randall
Cobb hurt all year long, had a couple of young

(02:00:11):
guys stepping up. But still it would be nice for
them to have Jimmy Graham. But we just don't know
how long he is going to be out of action.
How about some hoops news. The Nuggets of higher w
NBA star Sue Bird to join their front office. Doug.
It's a part of an apprenticeship with the team, as
she will be a basketball operations associate. I like it.
Super Bird's got a good got a great basketball like Q.

(02:00:32):
She's tremendous basketball player. More basketball people making basketball decisions,
And the hardest thing is to get in the door.
Once you get in the door, you got a chance
to move up the ladder. I mean, let's not they're
not making her gm um. But I think, you know,
getting another smart voice in the room. I've seen nothing wrong,
nothing wrong with that. Some more news from the NBA
kind of the vehicle owned by Lebron James when he

(02:00:54):
was in high school is up for auction. Yes, Darre
Rovell had this tweet earlier that the H to Hummer
that was bought by his grandmother in two thousand three
for Lebron's eighteenth birthday is going to be sold on
December eight. So this according to ESPN, it's gonna be
put up for auction and then I guess the final
sale going down on December eight for the H two

(02:01:17):
Hummer that Lebron had when he was eighteen years old. Um.
But one thing that's not in the announcement is you're
automatically ineligible to play college basketball if you buy the
H Remember do you ever do you ever drive a Hummer?
Did you ever have? I did not. I the the

(02:01:37):
I was playing overseas when the Hummer thing took off,
and I was we were just never really that into
I had. I had a pickup truck for a long time.
I had a pickup truck. And then now I just
I skipped the Hummer thing. But it was he was
big in the early two thousands. Yeah, it was big.
But if you couldn't see how that thing was just

(02:01:57):
not going to last, like you aren't good at foreshadowing,
because there was no way that that thing was going
to have a long shelf life. How about some college
troops right now, Number thirteen Oregon leads number fifteen Syracuse
to thirty four with about thirteen minutes remaining in their
third place game in the two K and thirty four.
Did you say forty nine to thirty four? That is correct?

(02:02:20):
That is correct. Man, they can't score at all. Huh.
They're playing with that turkeyse playing on their point card,
but dude, he can can't score at all. And of
course it was last night that Syracuse is Buddy Beheim
had his name spelling, Yeah, that was They got it
right for today's game against against who's who's the guy

(02:02:43):
who misspelled Buddy beh And for people who don't know, like,
what's the big deal? That's Jim Beheim's son is on
the team, Like you should know how to spell Beheim
by now he's got the court named after him. B
O e h E. I M not like Schevski. I'd
even give you chefs. She shouldn't be misspelled if one

(02:03:04):
of his kids or grandkids as ever on the team.
But Beheim. Yeah that that that's a you had one
job type of thing. Yeah, and again, Douglas, we touched
on earlier at the Paradise Jam Oregon State Top sold dominion.
There you go, and that's the press backing out there
and pressed. That was the press. Uh oh boy, Rama's

(02:03:26):
you coaching sports this weekend? Yes? I have softball on Saturday.
There's some controversy because he's got to miss one of
the games because they're scheduled at the same time. Can't
you just call and see if they'll switch times? I've
done it. No, I've done that before sometimes the tournament,
so they switches if you ask. They also voted to
have a season and celebration to try to allow John

(02:03:49):
to attend, and all the parents voted no, it's gonna
happen right after the games, so John's gonna miss it,
they voted. John, So Lucas has what a soccer game
in the morning, same time, Sarah softball? Do the softball? Yes? No?
I am that's correct. Yeah, yeah, we wanted soccer anyway.
Plus plus, my guess is you'll be at more of

(02:04:10):
his events later yeah later in the future, is Doug Goli?
