(00:21):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio. Boom Up America, Doug
Gottlieb Show, Fox Sports Radio. You know, there's this thing
in life where there's a belief that in order to
(00:43):
be respected, you have to be liked, and in order
to succeed, you gotta get along with everybody around you.
Now look, I think that is generally a good path
to go down. There is no reason to naturally create
enemy because enemies. You know, if you're successful, there's gonna
(01:03):
be people who are um jealous of your success no
matter what you do, and there you're going to make enemies,
even through no fault of your own. But the fact is,
you don't have to like everybody you play with, and
you definitely don't have to like those you play against.
(01:25):
We got a bunch of college football stuff, We've got
some NFL stuff to get to I got some thoughts
for you on Will Greer choosing to not play in
the Bowl game for West Virginia. Ryan Hollins will join us.
We'll talk uh some NBA with the Lakers suddenly on
the rise, Clippers thinking they got a shot at Kauai.
Mark Slaverth is gonna join us. We'll ask him just
how good has case Keenum been? As so many offered up,
(01:49):
what a terrible signing to get Kirk Cousins last year,
and I offered up yesterday on this show and on
social media, there was no better option, no better option.
We'll talk with stan Cup coming in the show. I
saw this from Sham's Sharania, who works for Stadium Sports.
(02:09):
He talked with Kevin Durant. Kevin Durant went on another
Yahoo podcast and said, Hey, there's gonna statues up in
front of me in San Francisco, in front of all
of us in San Francisco when they opened the new
arena next year. We'll get to that in a moment.
But he also said this to Sham Sharania, Kobe m J. Kyrie,
(02:30):
just the way they move. I don't understand why people
don't realize what they're seeing in these three, especially Jordan
and Kobe. Kyrie is younger than me, and that's one
of my best friends, so I watched his stuff. I
get to play with Steph every day, so I know
his game inside and out. But watching Kobe and Mike,
I'm like, how do you not realize how good these
(02:50):
dudes are? How do you not say they're far better
than anybody who's played the game. Just the way they move,
how fluid they are. Everybody that comes to my house,
whether it's friends or family, I make them watch Jordan highlights.
This is the equivalent to Einstein fffing, Ludwin van Beethoven
or Obama the greatest talents and athletes of the of
(03:10):
the world. Just because they play sports, people think one
way they're the masters, they're the geniuses. I just started
to realize that a few years ago, watching those guys
can really spark my creativity. Huh Now, because he doesn't
say Lebron James offers up two things. One eight on
(03:31):
respect Lebron James. Two, he's trying to take shine off
Lebron James. What did Katie tell us before the season
began that k D in front of a microphone would
be honest to a fault. Now, part of this is
I don't think he and Lebron James are friends. Secondly,
(03:55):
I think that some of this is the pushback over
the way in which Lebron James is uh fond over
by the media. He said that just going back to
last week, and part of that. This is his actual opinion.
Here's what he's saying. I don't think Lebron has game
(04:18):
as much as those guys have game, right, Like, um,
here's an example. Brad Pitt is a good looking human being. Right.
I'm a heterosexual male, never thought otherwise, Not that there's
anything wrong with that, but Brad Pitt pulling women doesn't
(04:40):
impress me that much. It just doesn't. George Clooney, what
a good looking man, right, doesn't impress me that much.
David Spade, now that impresses me. Have you seen Have
you seen the list of women David Spade has dated
during his life and you're like, Wow, that guy's gotta
(05:03):
have massive amounts of game. Lebron James is six ft
eight six ft nine. The rules are set up to
help him where the defense can't hand check. Right, the
game has changed where he's essentially the size he is
the size of a nine nineties power forward. But there
(05:26):
are no power forwards on the floor anymore. There's one
big guy at most on the floor with Lebron James.
And so it's not to say that Lebron doesn't have
great vision. What he's saying is like, I don't know.
He's bigger, he's stronger, the rules set up, they build
a team around him. He really only plays one position,
(05:48):
which is Lebron have the ball, creates shots himself and
other people, played downhill, a little bit of bullyball, whereas
he likes more the creative types like Kobe Bryant was
a master of understanding angles and push shops and how
(06:09):
to expose somebody's defensive weakness. He also was an expert,
an expert at psychological warfare. Michael Jordan the same that's
where Kobe got it from. Now, Michael Jordan would create
an enemy out of anybody. But what Lebron James is
(06:31):
was he what Kevin Durant is saying and not mentioning
Lebron James is we're not boys, we're not friends. And
I don't like the style by what he does things
because he's just bigger and stronger. I like guys that
gotta work for it. They gotta figure out a way
as the game evolves their game, as their body changes,
(06:51):
they have to change. That's exactly what happened with Michael Jordan's.
Here's what people don't understand about Jordan's. When he first
got in the league, he couldn't shoot. He was unbelievable
at getting to the rim. And he's the greatest explosive
finisher in traffic we've ever seen. And then he became
(07:13):
a remarkable mid range to sometimes long range three point shooter,
and then late in his career he is the best
post player we ever saw. Unbelievable post play for a guard,
best post guard for for a great player. He post
up fade away, and that was a little bit of
what Kobe Bryant went through. Right, wasn't a great shooter.
Everything was at the rim. Then he became a great shooter,
(07:36):
and then late in his career he edited had the
Kobe fade. He changed, he evolved. Kyrie Irving is the best.
Why he mentions Kyrie Irving because I think there's an
infatuation with the creativity of Kyrie Irving finishing at the rim.
It's the best I've ever seen from a point guard.
Rod Strickland is the one before him, his his godfather,
(07:57):
where there's no angle to finish that shot, and he does.
It's not to say Lebron James isn't good, but it's
to say Lebron James isn't necessarily the creative type. This
happens in music all the time. Ask a musician who
their favorite music group of all time is, and they
(08:18):
sometimes don't answer the guy who had sold the most records.
Sometimes it's the one that have the most creativity, right,
Like Beastie Boys first album, Licensed to Ill. I I
think like I think of Beastie Boys and Licensed to
Ill as their greatest album, Don't You That was the
(08:42):
first time we had ever kind of heard of them.
That was their breakthrough album. Three White Guys from New
York kind of set it set the hip hop world
on its on its on its spottsob of its axis.
But they also didn't play their own instruments. It wasn't
(09:03):
really what they wanted. They kind of sold out and
had to go mainstream in order to make it work.
Paul's boutique. They did play their own instruments, and though
it didn't receive the same amount of fanfare. It had
more of their creativity, and they and other music people
like it better. We've created this world where everybody has
(09:29):
to love everybody where, everybody has to say that what's
current is the greatest, and if you don't say it,
somehow you're just being a contrarian to be a contrarian.
But the truth is that one, Kevin Durant has always
has said this year, I'm just gonna say what I think,
think what I say. Two, you don't have to like
(09:52):
or even respect everybody, especially when you have a keen
eye for what you deem as great. And three, creativity
in one's craft is sometimes more regarded then simply success
at one's craft, especially by others in that craft. Mark
(10:17):
Larra joins the show of coming next, alright, we'll go
to the NFL three times with Bowl champion stink. Mark
Larra joins, I'm gonna ask him if the Vikings could
do it all over again, was there even another decision
to make? Next? Be sure to catch live editions of

You know, I got into Twitter beasts the people and
radio beasts of people yesterday when people were crushing Kirk Cousins,
and I was like, look, I've never been this huge
(11:00):
Kirk Cousins for President fan. I just haven't. On the
other hand, I also realized that you can't magically create
a quarterback that doesn't exist. And when you're the Vikings
and you go back a couple of years ago and
Teddy Bridgewater goes down with the devastating knee injury, you're
just trying to kind of fix things on the fly
because you feel like the rest of your team is
pretty good. Last year they get to the NFC Championship games.
(11:21):
Some of that helped out by this miracle win over
the Saints and by the fact that they were massive
injuries and star players specifically in the NFC. So they
evaluated that case Keenum wasn't as good as Kirk Cousins,
and they offered Kirk cousins three years guaranteed money. They
weren't actually the highest bidder, and they land him and
their team has collectively been worse because of it, or
(11:44):
is it because of it or the rest of what's
going on. Let's bring in marsh laire at three times
to a Bowl champion NFL on Fox Analyst. Um. He
also has his own radio show in Denver, so you
know the Denver Broncos organization like the back of your hand. Um,
what's the feelings in Denver when you watch case Keenum?
Do you think man Minnesota let a good one get away? Uh? No,
(12:07):
I think Minnesota made the right decision. I mean case
Keenum has been Um, you know, he he has basically
he has basically gone back to the mean. I mean
he has been this year exactly what he's been throughout
his whole career. You know, fifteen touchdowns, ten interceptions, completing
maybe in a low sixty percentile. I think in the
(12:29):
last five games he's only completed six UM or better
one time. In the last five games. He's been a
pretty average risk averse quarterback. UM. And you know he's
had opportunities to push the ball down the field, Doug,
but he just hasn't taken those opportunities. So I'm not
saying that Denver is any great shakes or that they
(12:51):
are as good personnel wise as Minnesota was last year.
But certainly, you know, case Keenum has not aid very well. Okay,
So when you look at the Kirk Cousins saying, look,
when you sign eighty four million dollar guaranteed contract, you
know you're gonna get some heat when the offense doesn't perform.
But I challenged anybody to come up with what was
(13:11):
a better plan from Minnesota? Then hey, let's go get
the best free agent quarterback on the market, somebody who's
stable and kind of then fix everything else within the organization.
Is it was there a better plan than the one
they had? No, I don't think so. And like I
I like Kirk Cousins from the standpoint of, you know,
just his skill set, the fact that he's gonna put
(13:32):
up numbers, you know, I mean, that's consistently what he does.
I think there's a couple of things that you look at,
you know, they really got away from the formula and
the identity they got them to the NFC Championship last year.
And I'm not always talking about runs for yards per carry.
I think yards per carry are an inflated statistic today
(13:55):
simply because a lot of teams will lay back in nickel,
they'll lay back in dime, they'll play with depth as
their linebackers and their nickel guys in about six yards,
and they'll basically say, if you can cramp it down
our throat for you know, five yards to carry, great,
because when the field gets condensed in the red zone,
we're gonna make you kick field goals. And so I
think this whole notion in every defensive coordinator. I mean
(14:16):
I travel around the league every week I'm doing a game,
and I travel around the lake and the league, and
they always say, hey, that number one priority is to
stop the run. Blowney, you guys don't believe that because
you never get into heavy personnel groupings. You never have
three linebackers on the field. You have a nickel dude
and two linebackers are one linebacker and two nickel dudes,
and you're basically saying, hey, cramb it down our throat
(14:38):
and we'll see if you can put you know, a
twelve twelve play drive together and beat us. And so
I always look at attemps do. I think attempts are important.
I think last year in Minnesota was the third second
or third best team in the league as far as
the number of attempts. They ran a different offense last year,
and John d. Philippa, who just got fired, comes in
and understands that if I'm gonna ge the chance to
(15:00):
be the next head coach, I've got to have that
Mattnege type of performance for the you know, the Sean
McVeigh type of performance. So I need to open this
thing up from my quarterback and I need to do
things that we do last year. And you know, I'm
gonna put together all this stuff and and you know,
I'm gonna show the world what what an offensive genius
I am. And you know, they're defenses and playing as well.
(15:22):
Their secondary is not playing as well. They're just not
playing as beaut of football across the board. And of
course you're gonna look, you know, at the quarterback position,
and that's part of it. Like the great quarterbacks seemed
to be, as Eric Mangini always calls a force multiplier,
meaning they make everybody better. Kirk Cousins is very efficient,
but I don't know that he makes everybody better. I come,
(15:43):
couldn't agree with you more? Right, nothing wrong, like they
made not mean that much right with him, but there's
nothing wrong with him. Um And I do think people
are freaking out and it's because of the amount of
money that he makes. That that's what that's what, that's
what we all do. But they don't understand, like that's
it's the it's about the market, right, was nothing else
on the market. And they actually didn't even outbid the
Jets to get him, but they had to give him
(16:04):
three years at quarterback money and they did so. Um
and and look the drop off between twenty eight million
and eighteen million is case Keenum who they had or
Kirk Cousins. And I think they made the right decision,
even money wise, it's it's still the right decision. Yeah,
And it does come down to you know, we all
always get mad at guys for you know, for taking money. Listen, man,
(16:26):
this is you know, this is uh, this is the market,
this is this is what it is. It's you know,
it's funny to me, you know, we don't get mad
at actors, like for taking twenty five million dollars to
shoot a movie that's a crap movie, right, do you
ever get mad. I think what it is though, it's
because we know the salary cap and because we see
tom Brady take less. They were like, look, you know,
(16:48):
couldn't you have taken less? Or could we we do?
I think people are smarter and that they understand that
if you're Robin Peter, to pay Paul right, so if
you pay him, maybe that's why their offensive line hasn't
been as good, right. I think the thing is that
we always point to Tom Brady, and I think I
think those are you know, that's that's funny money, that's
monopoly monopoly money, because he'll take less. He'll renegotiate every
(17:11):
year to get deferred compensation and to get more upfront
money to make his cap value at fifteen million dollars.
So you can do a bunch of work around the league.
But it's not like all of a sudden, tom Brady's going, yeah, yeah, yeah,
pay everybody else thirty million dollars. I'm good with twelve,
Like that's that's not the case. It's how they manipulated
(17:32):
and how he allows them to consistently manipulate it. But
when you hit the free agent market, you can't do
it that way, you know, unless you're willing to do
a Hey, let's you know, we're all in, let's do
a fifteen year deal and let's give you a you know,
a load of money up front, and then let's keep
your cap value way down. You know, you're just not
gonna do that in this economy or this market. But
(17:53):
Tom Brady does it on a consistent basis and it
makes him look great. But you know, like it may
be a few million in here and there, but the
bottom line is he's getting his money, no, no question.
Plus he is White's worth three million too. Like that
that just doesn't that just doesn't happen, you know, March
Layer joining us on the Doug Gotlip Show here on
Fox Sport Trade. Let's get a Thursday night football. I
(18:14):
think on paper before if you don't look, you're like
man Chiefs Chargers shootout. But Melvin Gordon question, well, I
don't think he'll play. Eckler's out. He's not gonna play
um Hunter, Henry's not back yet. And then you look
at the other side and now a sudden spencer where
is doubtful, probably doesn't play. They don't have um They're
(18:37):
not gonna have Tyreek Hill. They're they're not gonna have
um you know, all of their wide re c Sammy
Watkins as well. Like this feels like a completely different
game than our perception of what this game should be
on Thursday night. Yeah, it doesn't. And that's you know,
that's Thursday. That's playing on Thursday football. I don't know
if Tyreek Hill or where would be available if it
(18:58):
was a Sunday game. Um My, you know, my gut
reaction would say, yeah, Tyrian Hill would probably it was
a hell that he hurt in the game against Baltimore,
so I would think that he would have enough healing
by Sunday to be able to play in that. And
he is. You want to talk about force multipliers, that
guy is just a freak show with his speed overall
ability to carry the ball to run routes, which he's
(19:20):
definitely improved upon, but also the just the the circus
type of atmosphere. Um, the the special plays and the
broken plays that they are able to connect on between
he and Mahomes are special. So that certainly hurts them
right there. You know, the Spencer Ware thing. He has
been a good replacement. He has run hard um and
(19:42):
you know he's done. He's done kind of that the
yeoman's job of replacing Hunts. So yeah, I'm I'm a
hut of present with you. That's Thursday Night Football. With
that said, you've got two quarterbacks that are playing as
well as any two quarterbacks in the league obviously for
Philip Rivers has been doing it for you know what
seems to be gosh, well it is. It's close to
two decades, not what fifteen years in the league or so,
(20:04):
and Mahomes is probably playing at at a higher level
than um than just about anybody in the league. I
mean he would you watch him on film. He's a shortstop, Doug.
He plays like the shortstop like this is this is
for me. This is a test of it to playing
multiple sports and how it helps you later in life.
(20:25):
Like he makes throws from angles as though he were
some shortstop where he's across his body. Like you know,
you look at a shortstop and sometimes you gotta field one,
you know, deep in the hole and throw it across
your body underhand. Sometimes you've got time to set your
feet and throw it over the top. Sometimes you're moving
to the right and you gotta contort your body and
throw it underhand. You know, back across those diamond like
(20:47):
that's how he plays. He's got exceptional vision, exceptional understanding
of where everybody is, and he manipulates defenses with his
eyes like nobody else Right now, I mean, is it's
from Armo to break this kid down and watch him
playing and then to realize, you know, as a Denver
Bronco fan, I live in Denver still to go, oh gosh,
(21:09):
for the next what close to two decades, that that
guy is going to have a John Elway Peyton Manning
esque type of running Kansas City and they're gonna, you know,
they're gonna be Are they gonna be a the dominant
team going forward because the quarterback is just better than
everybody else's quarterback. Are they gonna be the next New
England Patriots? Simply because he's playing at such an incredibly
(21:30):
high level. Because it's it's crazy to watch. Okay, I
have I got two more. I know you gotta run. Okay,
let me follow up on my homes. I talked about
this with Dilford yesterday, like, look, I'm with you, it's amazing.
But he you know, he makes throw a going to
his left back to his right all the way across
the field. There's a couple other across this body, which
it's fun to watch now, but can are you gonna
(21:51):
get away with those in January in the cold, in
Kansas City or elsewhere against better competition? Does he does?
He pull a far where we all marvel at his talent,
but he takes chances that end up costing him when
it really matters. Right, well, I will tell you this.
He did it against the best defense in football, the
most elaborate defense in football and probably one of the
(22:12):
hardest defenses in the world to pick out what they're
in because they never show you anything. And that's the
Baltimore Ravens that we'd be talking about, the Baltimore Ravens.
I talked to John Harbaugh today. They said, if we
could create turnovers, you'd be talking about one of the
best defenses in history, one of the historic defenses. Right now,
we just haven't been able to create any turnovers. They
(22:33):
are they are incredible when you put them on tape.
And he was able to do it against the best
defense and it was a really cool game in Kansas
City last week. So, um my, my answers to that
right now. With the arm talent he has of the
vision he has is yes. The other one is the
Pittsburgh Steelers. They lose yet again. Now they got the Patriots,
who you know. I know they survived last year in
(22:55):
beating Pittsburgh because of a call which would have gone
the Steelers way this year if not, you know, the
catch rule being changed. But this strikes me as a
remarkably important game for both teams, home field being important
for the paths and getting in the playoffs, and important
for the Steelers. Can they be fixed in short order? Um?
I don't know that they can be fixed in short order.
(23:15):
My answer to you would be no, they can't. The
Steelers just there's a there's just a lack of what
feels like a lack of maturity by the Steelers in
general handling adverse situations. So you know, I don't think
either of them can be fixed quickly. New England has
always seemed to play with a confidence and have a
(23:38):
matchup from a scheme standpoint advantage over the Steelers defense.
We'll see if that holds true again. Um, you know,
when they get him in New England, obviously, what is
this one's in Pittsburgh go right? But when they get
him in New when they get him in New England.
New England has always been able to be pretty dominant
in those games. But I think from a matchup standpoints
schematically speaking, um, New England feels very common. But at
(24:00):
any time, regardless of where they play against the Pittsburgh Stewers,
Mark Laire three times we were bull champion NFL on
Fox Analyst, thank thanks so much for joining us. Man.
We got breaking news, breaking news regarding the NFL. To
get you to Dan Buyer for an update. Who surrounds
the city of Las Vegas? Says it where us? It
(24:20):
will be the home to the twenty NFL Draft, So
Vegas getting a drafted Then later that fall they'll get
the drafting. Oh that that draft draft. Yes, the twenty
nineteen version of the NFL draft will take place in Nashville,
but Vegas gets the NFL draft. So much how much
of you where Nashville is known as nash Vegas Nashvigic. Yes, interesting,
(24:45):
it's a new twist on it all. A lot of
news coming from the NFL tomorrow Night's game, Chargers in Chiefs.
We've got the injury reports. Melvin Gordon questionable, Austin Eckler
out for the Bolts, Spencer Ware doubtful to play for
Kansas City Ravens named Lamar Jackson. They're starting quarterback for
Week fifteen against the Buccaneers, with a healthy Joe Flacco
serving as the team's back up. Every decision is based
(25:06):
on what makes us the strongest possible team we can be,
whether it's quarterback or defensive line or whatever. That's the
bottom line. That that's what it boils down to. It's
and that's uh, that's how we feel about this decision,
and we're rolling. Yeah, So Joe Flacco heads to the bench.
Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz is practice today with back spasms.
The NFL network says Wentz is not going to play
against the Rams and could be shut down for the season.
(25:27):
Scott boris speaking in Las Vegas today about his clients
Freege and outfielder Bryce Harper, saying his decision could come
in the next few meetings or could come in the
next few weeks. Doug back to you, the Flacco thing
is not a surprise, but um, do do you guys
think this works long term? Like that that you can run?
(25:49):
I mean, the last two weeks he's been Lamar Jackson
has been helped off the field like this is this
is history repeating itself. Short term win, long term, it's
not a solution. It could get you to the playoffs
this year, and I like the creativity they're using with
Lamar Jackson, but long term, I'm not a buyer at
all at all. Uh, go ahead, fire, I agree with it,
(26:14):
and I agree with you that, yeah, the sustainability is
not where it is. But when you look at the
a f C right now and you see that it's
there for the taking, I mean, New England probably not
gonna get home field. You've got Kansas City, who doesn't
have their star running back anymore. You've got Pittsburgh falling
on their face. So I just look at them as
looking at like, hey, this may be the year. This
(26:36):
could be the year where you can win three road
games and go and go to the super Bowl. So
I like it. This is Tebow two point Oh, it's
short term win. Long term they'll don't. I think they
can still need another quarterback. I'm not sure if you
guys are were So do you know that the teams
that they've played here with Lamar Jacksons quarterback? Yeah? Yeah,
So Cincinnati worst defense maybe historically in the history of
(26:58):
and in the history of the NFL, Atlanta terrible defense.
This year, who else have they played? Um in the city? Awful?
Who else? And the third win was Oakland? It was
the Raiders. And then this week who do they play?
Also stellar defensive unit? Tampa has actually been really good
(27:21):
on third down. Um that the actual defense, which is
is the most important or one of the most important
defense statistics. So he's benefited from playing against terrible defenses
and and UM and and he's there are parts of
which Lamar Jackson's game which plays well. And look, it's
a lot like Tebow in that they have a really
good defense, They've got a great kicker, and they shortened
(27:41):
the game to win this way. But in terms of
points allowed, points allowed, Sincinnati, Oakland, Tampa, Atlanta, Kansas City,
that's who they That's who they played. Correct, those are
the five worst defenses in football. Five words doesn't doesn't
come down to you, because it does for me. Would
you rather face Joe Flacco's arm or Lamar Jackson's legs?
(28:02):
And I think that defenses would rather face Joe Flacco's
arm than Lamar Jackson's legs. I I don't. I think
once it all depends on once you get a book
on what they're doing once you and it depends on
how your defense is built. But if you can get
him in third and and seven plus third and long,
you'd much rather face Lamar Jackson, much rather face Lamar Jackson. Uh,
(28:24):
if you get's third and two, well that's that's different.
The problem is like, look, he's gonna get hurt. He's
already gotten hurt the last two weeks. He got taken
out concussion protocol, then he get hurt his leg or
something last week. But it couldn't worked out any better
for Lamar Jackson, and that there's a desperation from the
coaching staff to get into the playoffs. They play they
play the five worst defenses in football, and he has
(28:45):
a really good defense and and kicking game. In order
to to cover up for the fact that they can't,
you get down two touchdowns as things are wrap. Yes,
Ryan Music, doesn't this sort of just tell you that
the Ravens are at a position now where it's like
they know exactly what Joe Flacco is. They're clearly familiar
(29:08):
with who he is, what his abilities are, and they're
just gonna keep going with the Lamar Jackson thing to
see how he can develop keep Joe Flacco healthy. So
if they need him next year or if they want
to trade him in the off season, and right now
it's working, so why would they change. And when you
say long term, I think they drafted him in the
first round, so they know that they're either going to
(29:29):
get three years out of him and then pick up
his fifth year option, or they'll just decide, well, he
can't stay healthy, and unfortunately that first round draft pick
didn't do much for us. I don't I think you're
thinking far too much into it. I just I think
they're thinking, but do we have a better shot to
win with this week? And John Harbaugh is like, we
got a better shot this way, playing this way where
we shorten the game, we run the football. You know,
(29:50):
the guys like it. There's a certain kind of energy
to it. Like Flacco is just Blacko is like the coach,
you know, like coaches like well, you know that people
just tuned him out like Mike McCarthy. Right, Flacco is
the Mike McCarthy of coaches. He's won a Super Bowl,
so maybe he's a little bit better than how he's
being treated now. On the other hand, there's not any
inspiration there even if he is pretty ymn good and
(30:13):
Flacco will be a starting quarterback somewhere else, Like you
don't think Jacksonville had won him next year. Yeah. I
think that's a huge part of it too. Joe Flacco
gets to go out almost on a high note. There
is no drop off where they're like, remember when Flacco
quarterback does to that four and twelve season because we
held on to him so long and got no value whatsoever.
I think that's a part of it. I mean, it
(30:35):
may not be a big part of it, Doug, but
I think that there's a little part of it is
you know, hey, this worked out pretty well for them
in moving on from the Joe Flacco era so far.
And you know it's it's if you're John Harball and
you just want a contract extension, you do what they
keep throwing them out there. It does take a while
to adjust to this time. The Wildcat took a while
(30:56):
to adjust to. We saw this work with UH with
r G three, a different style, but they were running
a college offense. Ultimately, people adjusted. Ultimately, people adjusted to
Deshaun Watson, even Shaun Watson, who's arguably the best of
any of these guys are there, and last year, remember
they were super explosive to them and nearly as explosive
offensively this year. I'm sorry interrupt, but I think we've
(31:16):
talked about it before. Is that now in the NFL,
if you're a head coach that's holding onto your job
and you have a rookie quarterback, it's better to embrace
him than to hold onto the veteran in hopes that
maybe we could turn to round on this one. Heck,
we saw it in Cleveland. But also it also depends
depends on management and depends on who the veteran quarterback is. Right, Like,
(31:37):
I'm just like Flacco is one of those everybody's like,
he's fine, fine, fine, he's fine. He's just not inspiring anymore,
nor has he been inspired, and he's I don't think
he ever enjoyed the fact that people didn't embrace him,
nor did people ever embrace him, because he shouldn't be embraced.
(31:59):
Like there's a a bit of so. But I do
think we'll see Joe Flacco again this season, because we've
already seeing Lamar Jackson get dinged up the last two
weeks and the way in which they're using him, which
is the only way to people like, well, you can't
use them that way. There is no other way to
use him. There just isn't. It just isn't. But this
(32:20):
is smart. That's exactly what Tebow did. Run the ball,
run the clock short in the game. Play to the
best field goal kicker in the game, Play to the
best defense in the game. Who has the best defense
in the game. Baltimore Ravens averaging eight eighteen and a
half points per game. Now some of it is and
not playing as many snaps. Defense also is more rested.
(32:40):
They're not playing as many snaps. Game is shortened. This
is this is smart based upon your team long term,
there there's no there is not a good long term
prognosis for Lamar Jackson as your starting quarterback. The NFL
has finally learned from its mistakes. Maybe maybe I'll explain next.

The game today is real news? Fake news? Okay, Doug,
real news or fake news. NFL officials are implementing drastic
changes to their investigation policies following the Kareem Hunt investigation
sounds like no. NFL executive Todd Jones told reporters today
(33:45):
the league's power to get in full four investigations is limited,
and they aren't going to buy videos like TMZ did
with the Kareem Hunt video. The executive Jeff Pass and
the league is actually on pace for the fewest amount
of conduct issues since two thousand, but admits that their
ability to investigate these matters is limited. We're not gonna
buy tapes. That's that. We're not gonna buy tapes. That
(34:07):
that's that's where we draw the line. And I can't say,
I can't say I blame them. I actually do understand that.
And we're not gonna buy tapes, you know. And I
also think the idea we all come up with it.
There's a lot of other radio hosts on this very
network other networks like why didn't you interview the alleged
victim because that can be seen as tampering with an investigation.
You can't do it. You just you can't. I know
(34:29):
you want to, but you can't do it. Frank Schwab
of Yahoo Sports, who's been on the program and as
a friend of the network for sure, wrote a piece
on it and said he gets the understanding of the
investigation being limited, but their punishments aren't limited. Like they're
like they'll take limited information and then hand out drastic
punishments like the Ezekiel Elliott situation. They didn't have all
(34:52):
the information, yet they felt like banning them six games,
So there seems to be I don't know. I think
I think they like they banned Zeke Elliott for uh
for repeated offenses, right, repeated possible bunch of issues. Yeah
it was. It wasn't any one thing. It was. It
was a bunch of stuff. Real news are fake news,
and I thought that was too much. But yeah, that's
(35:15):
also you know, bowing to public pressure ahead. Real news
are fake news. The NFL is heading to Germany next season,
the anniversary of the last time they played in that
country over to the NFL, adounts five international games last season.
Four will be in London. One will be in Mexican
next season next yes, next season, yes, yes, I'm sorry,
(35:36):
We'll be in London. One of Mexico to Mexican City
is getting it back correct correct, the first time ever
that people have passed on Mexican grass. I just want
to put that one on Real News are fake news?
The lowest over under in the NFL in six years
will happen in week fifteen. Well, I go look at
these games here without looking at the lines. M hm
(36:00):
uh No, there was a there was a thirty six
last week six and a half. Oh uh, I'm gonna
say Real News Redskins, Yes. R J. Bell are good
buddy from straight out of Vegas here on Fox Sports
Radio and pregame dot Com says it's the lowest over
under of thirty six since m Well, I mean the Redskins,
(36:24):
they've been a disaster a quarterback, although I kind of think, um,
I kind of think they're gonna be okay this week
at quarterback as opposed to last week. I just Mark
Sanchez was brought in there to be a backup, not
to play. I kind of think Josh Johnson looked at
I did take the over in that deal offense. Yes,
you have to. They're they're daring you that moves the thirty.
(36:45):
They're daring you to take the over. Real news are
fake news. That agent Scott Boris says the Yankees are
not involved in the Bryce Harper sweep steaks. Boris was
asked about the Yankees today, say who said that they
were out? Bore Is responded, quote, I haven't heard them
say that. Maybe they say that to you. End quote,
(37:06):
we're out. No. Really in what else would an agents say? Right?
Exactly what? What? What? Exactly like when Scott Borris is,
Scott horses paid to be an advocate for his players,
period and if they're the if they're the team with
the deepest pockets, he doesn't want anybody to think they're
out of the bidding war. Real news are fake news,
Phoenix sends out of Robert Sarver is threatening to move
(37:27):
the team to Las Vegas or Seattle, and they're spectacular.
The Arizona Republic reports Sarver has used those threats recently
towards council members and Phoenix, who are scheduled to vote
on arena renovation renovations today. Yeah, it's the the arena.
The same thing with the baseball stadium as well. There's
talk of moving into the reservation or talk of moving
(37:48):
out of town. That would be massive. Obviously, Seattle just
got an NHL team, but they still on the right
the name Sonics, so how that would work? And Vegas
has long long been a spot where an NBA team
has one to relocate to. We'll see if it's a possibility. Finally,
Dug real news or fake news. And NBA team will
wear a pink jersey this season, recovered as part of
(38:12):
the sixteen earned jerseys from playoff teams last year. The
Miami Heats will be rocking a pink uniform off of
the vice jerseys that they have been wearing. Instead of
the black, They'll wear a pink jersey this season. Um,
I like this. I actually thank If you're the Miami Heat,
why wouldn't you go to a full time pink jersey?
Like nobody else wears pink? Like separate yourself. I'm pinks
(38:33):
cool color. This is game time on the Dug Godlime Show.
Like any everything else has been done, pin stripes have
been done. Remember that. Remember the turquoise trend and there's
a black and turquoise trend. Yeah, why not? Pink? Real
men were pink. This is Doug Godli Show on Fox

I hope you and yours are enjoying a magnificent holiday season.
Thursday Night football is one of those things where we waited, waited,
waiting for Monday Night when we had Ram's Chiefs couple
weeks ago. I've been waiting for this game all year.
And yet, even though both the Chiefs and the Chargers
(40:04):
are coming off of a a win, both are extremely
banged up, extremely banged up, unlikely to have a litany
of their stars, and so did you guys see the
over under on this game? Like look, Chargers and Chiefs
too high powered offenses and the over unders fifty three
and I'd still probably take the under. I know everybody that, Wow, No,
(40:26):
it was scored like I don't. I don't see it,
especially from the Chiefs. They're gonna have to it's gonna
have to be a little bit more dink and dunk.
It's a completely different game when Tyreko plays completely and
he's not gonna play all right, we got a ton
to get to, uh while talking at the Winter meetings.
Not a lot of doing at the Winter Meetings. I
(40:46):
mean I I guess there's been one notable trade and
toy t Lwitski has been released, but no, not all
of that. There's chatter in the NBA about the Clippers
potentially landing a star or two. Ryan Hollins, who does
work some for the Clips also you can see him
on other networks covering the NBA. We'll get his thoughts
on if that's actually a reality. Former Clipper will be
(41:08):
our guest. But let me start with something that was
that has been talked about earlier today. Um it's actually
from the Athletic the college football Playoff, which it's one
of those things where I guarantee, no matter what we do,
(41:31):
no one's going to be happy. No one's gonna be happy.
But from the athletic is report that now there are
some some in college football that are tired of pro
sec treatment and the treatment of Central Florida that makes
them want at least meet and discuss the possibility of
expand the playoffs. Okay, let me help you out here.
(41:55):
Central Florida is not going to move the meter for
anybody to get into the college fall playoff. They sorry,
don't matter, It just don't matter. The likelihood has sustained
success there, the likelihood that you're you're gonna change a
system for a program that, however magnificent this run and
(42:17):
they had a previous run. Blake Borrels was their head coach.
The likelihood of them competing on a game by game,
year by year basis with the powers of the countries slight, slight.
But we're in this more more is more, more is more. Now.
I've never agreed with the narrative because I know the
(42:41):
reality of it, which is, hey, people like the college
football season because there's no playoff. That was what They
used to tell us that people like the college football season.
If that's true, why do more people watch the National
Football League? Nation Football League? Doesn't they have true playoffs.
(43:03):
They've had below five teams get in the playoffs, and
yet more people watch it. On the other hand, there
is something special to winning your conference. We're in this
more is more to have more teams. Let's the only way,
the only way in which my opinion, change happens is
(43:25):
if the Big Ten and the SEC both get screwed
in the same year and that happens, then maybe they'll
be changed. But there are so many different layers of issues.
The first thing is this, I don't know if you
guys saw that Will Greer, Why a quarterbacks from West
Virginia is not playing in West Virginia's bowl game. Well,
(43:47):
Greer's going to be draft in the NFL. Hat was
having a good career at West at Florida before he
got popped for PD test, was suspended and transferred to
West Virginia and has had a magnificent season this year
for Dana Holgerson. So he's not gonna play. You go
(44:07):
through the team by team by team, and there's a
guy who's going to be a draft pick who's not playing.
We've already made We've already made bowl games that are
non uh New Year's Day games minimized in every way possible.
(44:29):
If we expand the college football playoff, all of a sudden,
these bowl games become obsolete. And while that may not
matter to you, it matters to everybody else. The secret
that you're not being told is not about making money.
You need to stop with these college teams that make
so much money on bowl games. Like, no, they don't
(44:50):
not in the bowl game per se. Here's how it works.
Say you have an okay season, right, pick a team,
you got an okay. See, you go to a bowl game.
It gives you more practices, let's hope for the future.
It usually takes you to a place where there's a
chance you can recruit for the future. It's one of
(45:12):
the reasons teams like bowl games in Louisiana, in Texas,
in Florida. One because the weather's the weather is better,
but to it also gives them a chance to recruit
in those areas. Now look at some of these bowl
games and where where theyre located. The big thing is
(45:34):
half the teams end up with a win. So no
matter how bad your season was or how awful the
ending was, half the teams go home going you know what,
Like Wisconsin for example, It Wisconsin of a good year. No,
they were picked as a top fifteen team in every
poll and every magazine in the country. They end up
(45:56):
seven and five, and they're not playing in an area
where they can recruit a ton. But they're hoping that
playing in New York City and playing against Miami gets
them in every house in South Beach for recruiting. But
for all those Badger fans are upset of Paul Christ
a chance to leave the season on a high note.
(46:20):
The players like it because it's one last game, a
chance to win a game. The young players like it
they get more chance to practice, prepare, And the players
also like it because not the ramifications of conference play.
A lot of times, more offensive minded teams are trying
different offensive trick plays. Leave everything on the table, have
some fun, you get a huge swag bag, you get it,
you get it. It's basically like uh, one last road
(46:43):
trip with the boys for seniors. The donors like it,
the coaches like it, and two people who say fans
don't like it. That's a load of crap. They all
watch it and they all bet on it. And so
this idea that well, you know, if you created the college,
well playoff the bowl games and still now they'll be
completely obsolete. And oh yeah, by the way, ESPN actually
(47:05):
owns most of these bowl games, and they own the
TV rights to the college while playoff. They don't want
to cannibalize their own product that they pend spend a
bunch of money getting. They're not idiots over there. Secondly,
you can't play sixteen games too many. It's just too many.
The guys should dropped like flies. Every game means more injuries.
(47:29):
And to the hey, let's cut off the let's cut
off the conference championship games. Let's make like forty million
dollars for the conferences. They're not cutting those off. They're
just not it's not happening. Additionally, you don't have true
conference champions because you have two different divisions. You actually
need them to decide who the best team is in
the conference. Look, it's not a perfect system. But here's
(47:54):
the thing. There are no perfect systems. They're just not
no perfect stems. Our government is the perfect side of U.
Is there the Electoral College perfect right, Like, look, I
prefer the electoral college to UH to UH of just
a general election. But I'm not sure if you're aware,
(48:15):
but the person received more votes didn't actually win the presidency.
It's not a perfect system. It's flawed. Our former government
is flaw. There's gerrymandery which takes place, or this fact
that the people in office now are not gonna be
office after January and they keep passed laws even though
they've been voted out. Ever, presidential pardons. My last day
(48:38):
in offense office, you just signed a guy like no
matter what they've done, the government can't charge them. Really yeah,
really that really happens. There is no perfect form of government.
There are no perfect people. There is no perfect playoff system.
We we we had discussion in the NBA, why don't
(49:00):
we have the East and the West play together play
you know, have one through sixteen. There's flaws in that
with travel, there's flaws in that with you're not gonna
have Eastern Eastern viewers won't stay up to wait to
watch that West. Total flaws in it. The NFL system,
we've had below five teams because of divisions. But wait,
are we gonna cut off divisions? What if your division
is more coming, more competitive, even college basketball, which everybody's
(49:27):
a man that is the per No, it's not, dude loyalist.
Chicago was not one of the four best teams last year.
They weren't. They're a great story, great story, and they
had a great year in the in the Missouri and
the Missouri Valley Conference. We had Putter Mooser on Portmoser.
I don't believe he had coached the team that was
above five hundred before last year and this year they're struggling.
(49:48):
Why because they weren't one of four best teams in America?
Is not plenty of VC. You shouldn't have even been
in the n c A Tournament. They get all the
way to the final four. So I love the energy
behind it. I love the fact that you're so passionate.
You think, does anybody believe that Central Florida without McKenzie
(50:10):
milk Milton could compete last year with McKenzie Milton, with Georgia,
with Alabama, with Oakland. No, we've been Auburn in the
bowl game. Congratulations doesn't take away from what they've created.
But as your plan against a completely different level of
competition weekend, wee count and if and and if you're Auburn, right, Like,
(50:35):
if you're Auburn, the Bowl game doesn't matter as much.
Your Central Florida was your Super Bowl. But regardless, like
I don't want to take away from what Central Florida
did last year, what they've done this year through all
of these through the injuries, and through the attrition of
losing a head coach to Nebraska and having a new
head coach. Like, I get it. Remember also, you're it's
a complete You're basically dealing with a completely unfair and
(50:59):
not unfair. But this is like Houston in that league, right,
Central Florida and Houston should be the best teams in
that league. Why because all the players in their perspective leagues?
Why because Houston has all the players? Are there more
players in Houston or more players it? Did? You know
(51:20):
in Connecticut for Yukon? I mean, look at the conference
that you CF is in. No, Central Florida is in
a conference made up, But how many players are there
in that area of the country conference members. They're playing
against Temple, they're playing against Cincinnati, they're playing against East Carolina,
(51:41):
they're playing against Yukon. Those the teams in their side
of the American Where are there more players Orlando Florida
and all of Florida, or like, you're not playing against
actual regional competition. They've been amazing, haven't lost a game
in two years, but they're not pushing us to an
(52:05):
eight team playoff. The cannibalization of the other Bowl games
taking away from teams l actually liking schools, players, conferences,
everybody liking donors liking bowl games. And you have something special,
you have something to lead. It will only happen if
(52:28):
the SEC and Ohio State and Notre Dame and all
in the same year all collectively feel like they get screwed.
If that happens, then maybe could the Clippers be the
hot team in upcoming free and see Bonanza? And was
kde Hayton on Lebron talking about uh, Kobe and m
(52:50):
J and Kyrie being basketball savants. We'll discuss that next
with Ryan Hollins. But first, when do you want to

(54:37):
we are we completely done with the Christmas music? Did
you just decide to go back to this? My understanding
is that we play the Christmas music at the forty
break and I hadn't Maybe That's what I've been doing.
When when did that happened? That was yesterday? No, No,
the first day we played the Christmas music, and then
we the next day after we started it, the whole thing,
we went to the twenty Doug Gottlie forty little Christmas music?
(55:02):
Got it? Okay, got it? I'm okay, I'm okay. I
just maybe I hadn't been paying attention that I didn't
didn't know the difference between the two, Okay, Um, I
pay attention to a lot of stuff. I was paying
attention to um. ESPN and they had the story out
today about the Clippers about how could the Clippers go
out and get k D and Kauai? And then of
(55:25):
course there's the k D quotes where he talks about, um,
how incredible Jordan's and Kobe and he puts Kyrie Irving
in that mix as scores as great players that people
just don't understand how incredible they were liking them to.
Was it Beethoven and Mozart? Huh, let's welcome to Ryan Hollins,
(55:47):
who works over there also covers the Clippers. For former
Clipper Ryan Holland joins, let's seehim on NBA TV as well. Um,
this it feels like a poorly kept secret, but that
that the Clippers think they're in position to go get
a star. But why do you does it feel like
the landscape has changed? Ryan? Because like a look, guy
(56:09):
grew up in southern California. No one ever said I
wanted to be a Clipper. It just happened that way
for others. Why is the landscape maybe changed? Well, appreciate you, Brad,
I mean that the flat out the look still l
a Uh, there's there's nothing like it that compares. Obviously
(56:30):
New York is an attractive market. Uh. The Clippers have
done a great job of positioning themselves, uh, to have
a healthy organization, because that matters. If if you're in
the case that Kevin Durant and Kawai Leonard, are you
gonna leave the penthouse for the outhouse? You know what
I'm saying. So the Clippers that have put themselves in
a situation where you can easily look at that team
(56:51):
and see, hey, I can win a championship here. I
could be the piece that takes uh takes the Clippers
over the top. Uh. Not to mention Douck, I've never
heard this ever, ever in history of the NBA ever,
Guys on other teams actually voicing that I want to
go and play for the Clippers. Kawhi Leonard voice that okay,
(57:14):
Jimmy Butler voice that okay. So you've got stars that
are almost calling shotgun on joining the Clippers, saying, man,
we we we want to go be a part of
what's going on over there. And also the way they're
treating the guys right now, they're treating the guys on
that team even though they're gonna be big time players
in the free agency market. As as as as with loyalty,
(57:39):
with it, with honesty, they're they're focused on them. They're
focused on the guys that they have now rather than
running around trying to court me as the guys. If
they come, cool, we want it. If you don't come,
there's a good thing going on there. So hats off
of the Clippers for handling that the right way, because
you know, man, if every other rumble is that you're
gonna have Duran or somebody else there and you're not
(58:00):
really focused on the team at and that that's actually
winning and the guys you got in that locker room,
it continue locker room apartment and they that's awesome them. Um,
they did get their worst loss of the year last
night at home to the Trial Raptors who didn't have
Kauai Leonard. Doesn't that hurt their argument? Yeah, I mean
(58:20):
it doesn't. It doesn't mean Kawhi later or k d
those are those are too big enough names. Uh that
if they move or joined a team like the Clippers,
it changed and stuff that they're that dynamic of a player,
Uh in Toronto is the real deal right now? With
it without Kauai, Uh, they go they run you know,
six eight to six nine across the board. Uh. With
(58:42):
with that baka the o G and the Newvie to
Pascal who's having a heck of the year in Valentune
into those guys who aren't even talk Kyle Lawry and
and Van Vleet no guys. So uh, they've got a
stack team man and and defensively, uh, they match up
pound for pound for the best of them. Not to
mention the Clippers coming off a back to back and
seeing where they had an overtime dog fight. So that's
(59:02):
that's not a fair assessment of either team. Obviously Kauai
was out, but Lou Williams, Mrs Timon Lou Williams uh
is the Clippers score. You know, he's he's a He's
a big, huge part of the team's success this year.
So I don't buy too far into last night. But
the Raptors are for real. Do you buy into the
Celtics fixing things right? They've even without Kyrie. They beat
(59:23):
the Pelicans again. Now you know they're not gonna have
Horford for a Q games because of knee pain, but
they've won six and a row. Granted some of that,
and they're not all against bad teams. I know. They
beat the bull beat the hell out of the Bulls
by like sixty, but they also beat the Wolves and
beat the Pelicans twice. Are you buying that the Celtics
are fixed. I'm not over for reacting. I gotta see
(59:43):
that Boston. I feel like they do get back to
where they need to beat it is. There's nothing guaranteed
that they come out the East as we all after
what they look like last year, until that defense gets
in taxed and their defense. Yes, it's nice to have
Kyrie back at Gordon Heywards, and I'm not gonna doubt that.
I'm not gonna be crazy to say that that doesn't help.
But what made them special last year and have us
(01:00:05):
had us so excited with the defense? Defensively, they locked
up and they moved the basketball, and they were big,
and they were tough and they were versatile, and you
don't see that this year. So they they've got to
figure some things out. I don't know if that's Hayward
coming off the bench or uh, you know, they need
to just remember who they are, Rosero playing uh more minutes,
(01:00:26):
you know, a fix of the starting lineup, what else
it may be. Uh, They're gonna have to fix it.
But I mean it's a step in the right direction.
But I'm not I'm not celebrating, man, I'm not going
to parade just yet. Done. What about the what about
the Lakers? Um? The Lakers suddenly not only they're hot,
but they've been consistently good and maybe playing a little
bit better without brandon Ingram. Are you buying that the
(01:00:46):
Lakers are starting to figure out how to play with Lebron?
Absolutely buying that. And I don't. I don't buy just
as much as the Lakers figuring out how to play
with Lebron. But Lebron just getting comfortable. You know, he's
a guy who can cruise a thirty thirty and sent
or thirty and eight and nine or a triple double
every single night, just once he gets going because of
(01:01:07):
how dynamic he is. Uh. And he's having a trust
that you know, hey, Tyson, Chandon's here, He's got my back.
Javel's playing at a high level. Uh In Kolsma is
the He's an absolute perfect compliment, No no shot to
brandon Ingram to him. So Lebron's falling into a nice
little spot where he could play mak and he can
go get it whenever he needs to. UH. And that's
(01:01:29):
where you're gonna see that success and him just kind
of like just getting over the amazement of playing with
these new these new young guys. So they're gonna be better.
You know, that's the best part with young guys. They
get better than you had, Tyson. If they mess around
and get Trevor a Reason over, there's really gonna be
a problem. So, uh, big things to look for from
the Lakers. But that's what that was expected to come
(01:01:50):
on you you knew the problem wasn't gonna be be
looking too bad for too ball, all right, So let's
let's say they find a way to make a deal
and get Trevor Reason. How good do you think this
can be? For one that they're continued this year and
I don't give it darn what they look like right now.
You got Lebron James in that locker room, and you
don't know how healthy Golden State's gonna be. There's no
(01:02:12):
one that just looked spectacular so far. But if you
get Trevor Reason, that's a huge step in the right
direction because you get a guy who can play minutes
in the NBA Finals. I don't know how many of
those other guys on the roster are gonna be able
to play NBA finals minutes at that level. Obviously Rondo's
not back yet. He's gonna be a help. But you
gotta get guys who could play, and you need as many. Look,
(01:02:34):
you gotta hear me. Remind me when I say this.
You gotta stockpile as many six eight, the six nine
three d guys with versatility as you can. And that's
what Trevor Reason brings brings you because he's a body
you can throw at Durant. He's a guy that you
can uh throw at a at a James Harden, per say,
if it is James Harden to play as a guy
you can throw at Paul George, you need a number
(01:02:56):
of those. I don't want le Bron guarding any I
want the Bron guarding the worst player on the team. Okay,
let him be comfortable. But Trevor Reason brings that to you.
Ryan Hollands joining us in the Doug out Them show
here on Fox Sports Radio. What do you make of
what k D said where he left out Lebron in
talking about the greatness of Kobe and of Jordan. Evve
mentioned Kyrie and no Lebron, I'm not gonna dive into
(01:03:18):
that man. It was it was an interview, even though
we're over speculating everything that Kevin Durant is saying. Ultimately,
I do think Kevin Durant is out. I do think
he wants to just do and he follows in the
footsteps of Lebron, who he just mentioned that's kind of
big brother right now, He's followed in his path, uh,
and that I don't think he minds to leave. But
(01:03:38):
I think that public perception plays such a strong part
in Lebron's decision to come back to Cleveland. And I
think that you know, k d made the career choice
in going to Golden State, and anybody who says that
he shouldn't have done it as a complete idiot. Okay,
they need to get over themselves. But the best part
about him winning his championship is now it's time for
(01:04:01):
him to go, and that public perception bothers Kevin Durant
and the fact that Kevin Durant is now looking to say, hey,
I want to go build my own thing, uh somewhere else.
And I think obviously there's a shot that Golden State
keeps him, but if another team like a Clippers in
New York looks attractable. It is very realistic that Katie's
gonna be out. M I don't see him going to Clippers.
(01:04:21):
I I just don't see. Now, you gotta beat Lebron,
and you gotta beat the Warriors. Um as opposed to
going to New York and kind of doing your own thing,
being the guy that saves the Knicks strikes me as
as as a bigger things is a big yes, bro,
how much of your own thing do you want to do?
I don't have a hand with you. Well, you're gonna
(01:04:43):
you're gonna have, You're gonna have, You're gonna have prezingis
and then you're gonna have somebody else come with you.
I mean, I don't give who was somebody like I
gotta Personally, I wouldn't leave. Personally, I wouldn't leave. I
wouldn't know. But but he doesn't. And I actually understand
that he's not getting his due because he's like, look,
I guard Lebron, he guarded me. I was a better
player in the NBA finals past two years. Why isn't
(01:05:05):
anybody respecting that? You just kind of gotta you know, slowly,
time will come around to respect him. I just think
he's a little bit too much in the moment. But
the point is, if it was Clippers or Knicks, I
don't think it's close. Right. The Clippers are the Nets
like in New York, whereas the Knicks are the Knicks.
You want to be the big thing, you want to
be a big fish in a big pond. Go to
the Knicks. I I hear you. KD loves l A.
(01:05:28):
He's seen every off season working out with coach Rico Hides.
He does an excellent job of training and getting guys ready.
He's got everybody falling. But this, this is the thing.
L A is still l A if you go to
New York. This is what he's telling me, Doug, I
got a handshake agreement with somebody else to go because
I'm not getting caught with my pants down. I'm not
gonna leave Golden State. I'm not gonna leave the golden
(01:05:50):
era of ball movement, the epitome of ball movement of
Golden State. To go there just halfens their hardaway. Just
to prove my point. If I'm going, I'm going to win,
and not mean Kyrie is coming. Okay, that means that
Jimmy Butler is coming, that means that somebody else good
enough is coming and what's the appell of the Clippers.
Kawai darn Leonard Leonard, we can go win and we
(01:06:13):
could beat Lebron, or you know what I joined Lebron
is that could have still let me sit down at
the round table, because guess what, Lebron's a big enough
name and has enough respect from Kevin Durant that he's
gonna sit down and hear him out and hear what
he's got to say. And who knows if Lebron's plan
might be better than Golden States plan we got to see.
But I think the two l A teams are that
(01:06:35):
favorite unless you get one of those guys that he
trusts to go and play. And Kawai Leonard is the
second biggest outside of Lebron James to win. Duck in
my wrong, You're not wrong, but Kawai has gotta kau
I could leave be leaving a championship team to go
to the Clippers again, which I've everyone in basketball has
heard as a possibility, But until it's like one of
(01:06:57):
those things, until it actually happens, I I don't believe
it yet. Dude, Dude, Kauai is such a And when
I say weird, I say it in the most endearing
way of not being normal because I'm a weird guy.
But he's such a weird guy. Would winning he could go,
I don't know how he Ultimately, he just couldn't want
to just sit at the house and play Xbox and
(01:07:17):
kick it with his boys. I don't like the dudes
have so much success age that it's kind of like
jaded Dingham. I don't think he cares about anything other
than being happy. They could win it tor own and
he could still come to the Clippers, and that could
just be call I saying this is what I want
to do. This is me. I don't think like the
rest of you. It'll be fascinating to see Bryan. Great stuff, man,
(01:07:40):
congrats on all your personal success. Will talk soon, alright, brother, anytime.
That's Ryan Hollands joining us NBA VET team on NBA
TV covers the Clippers, also covers the entire association on
a various A litany of networks. Uh, speaking of litany
of things, Dan Buyer has got a litany of jobs.
One is to update this on all the goings on.
(01:08:01):
I've gotta litany of things to talk about tons of
news from the NFL. The NFL Draft in is gonna
be held in Las Vegas. Spring of the Raiders will
have moved there by then, however, they won't if they
wouldn't have played their first game. That's gonna happen in
the fall of NFL Draft in Las Vegas. NFL Action
tomorrow night in Kansas City Chiefs home to the Chargers.
(01:08:24):
Here's an update injury wise and a lot of the
key participants. Tyreek Hill questionable with the heal injury. He
is expected to play, according to ESPN, but Spencerware is
doubtful for the game. He's dealing with hamstring and shoulder injuries.
Chargers backfield no Austin Ekeler. He's been ruled out by
the team well. Melvin Gordon will travel, but the running
back is questionable a game time decision because of his
(01:08:46):
knee injury. The Ravens named Lamar Jackson their starting quarterback
for Week fifteen against the Buccaneers. That means Joe Flacca
goes to the bench. The NFL network says, Carson Wentz,
is You're gonna play against the Rams on Sunday. Went
Smith's practice today for the Eagles because of a back issue.
Will answide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. Center practice with a
quad injury that kept him out of Week fourteen. The
other excuse me a report from the Athletics is there
(01:09:09):
is support to expand the college football playoff to eight
teams before the current agreement expires in twenty six. Bucks
forward Jannison Teta Coopo will play a night against the
Pacers after missing Monday's game with the neck injury. Race
sign piccher Charlie Morton. That's according to the Tampa Bay Times.
And finally, Doug Scott Boris, the agent for Bryce Harper,
says the free inch and outfielder's decision on where to
(01:09:30):
play could come in the next few meetings or it
could come in the next few weeks. So the waiting
game continues on one Bryce Harper. M hmm. Have you
ever heard the name Taylor Rochesti? No? Okay. So there's
been a lot of people talk about Jimmer for Debt
and all the points. Jimmer for Debt scored in China
(01:09:52):
scores seventy in China. Something like a week ago, Taylor
Rochester scored fifty three and eleven assists in China. I
take really quick story because I feel like it. Um So,
Taylor Rochester's from Santa Barbara, California. He played for my dad,
na you, and he just wanted to play. You see
Santa Barbara. It's Division one school. Bob Williams is the
(01:10:12):
coach at the time, and uh, you know sometimes the
kid you see all the time you might undervalue. So
u CSB offered him as a walk on, and he
end up my dad got him a scholarship, help him
get a scholarship to tou Lane. Played for Dave Dickerson.
In tou Lane, they had Hurricane Katrina and so he
didn't want to go back to Tulane. So my dad
(01:10:35):
called Tony Bennett at Washington State and said, hey, I
got a kid who his dad can afford it, and
if you run out of scholarships he could. He could
be a walk on for you, but he'll be your
starting point guard. Now his Dave sounds familiar. What do
you mentioned Tony Bennett in Washington's okay? So he goes
to transfers to Washington State wall sitting out, he tears
(01:10:56):
his a c L. But Tony Bennett loved him, love him,
in fact, so much and and like my dad's evaluation
of him. Then when my dad called him and said,
I got another kid you gotta take as well, Tony
was like, okay, fine, I'll take your word for it.
He started with Taylor wat Chest Washington State's named Clay
Thompson played together in a U Just crazy. I was
(01:11:17):
just reading that he scored fifty three and eleven in China,
and you know, now he's he's a guy making like
he makes like a million dollars playing overseas and literally
had no scholarship officer, couldn't get a scholarshi bow from
UC Santa Barbara. Anyway, I was the car still, Carson
wentz Um, they might I guess they're gonna shut him down.
They shut him down officially or is it likely to
(01:11:39):
shut NFL Network is saying that, in fact, the Eagles
just said he didn't practice today. Ian Rappidboard says he's
not going to play against the Rams and then that
they could shut him down for the rest of the
season for a team that's a half game out of
the final playoff spot in the NFC. Well, um, there's
there's something in uh science where everything is related right
(01:12:02):
with your body, like if you ever you ever pulled
a hand, you ever hurt your back. Oftentimes when you
hurt your back, you'll go to the doctor like, well,
how are your hamstrings? Like, oh, I'm super tight, that's
why your back hurts. And what happens when there's just
an imbalance there? And I think what you've seen here
with Carson Wentz is we all so badly wanted to
(01:12:25):
rush him coming back. And what what you evaluate. The
only you can evaluate when your doctor is what the
knee actually looks like and how the player says he feels.
And my point was always always always wait, wait, wait,
because it's more important he plays the second half of
the season, it is you rush him back because Folds
(01:12:46):
was bad and because he said he was fine, they
played him very early in the season. He tours a
c L three sixty seven days ago, Like this is
actually really normal, super normal. It's also the reason that
they haven't cut bait with Nick Foles yet, because they
(01:13:06):
knew there's a chance we're gonna have to shut this
guy down at some point during the season because everything
hurts because there's an imbalance. This is very normal coming
off of an a c L injury, where within the
first year. Everything is kind of out of whack. Sometimes
you pull a calf, sometimes you're your back, sometimes you're
(01:13:27):
at a hip. You start walking. That's something that happens
when you you sprain an ankle when you're playing basketball.
How's your ankle feel fine? But now my hip hurts?
Why because you were walking differently When you sprain your ankle,
or you start shooting off of the other leg, you
start overcompensating for an injury. I'm gonna I'm gonna put
(01:13:47):
an end to the case Keenum Kirk Cousins debate. I'll
do so next. Be sure to catch live editions of

Gotlieb Show Fox Sports Radio every day. This time we
played for the a portion of a previous show on
Fox Sports One or Fox Sports Trading. We call it
Fox Say. This was early today. Clay Travis said this
about Kirk Cousins did you know that Kirk Cousins is
(01:14:30):
the only quarterback right now that is among the six
highest paid quarterbacks to have his team in the playoffs.
I thought that was a pretty amazing stat because all
of the pain, uh and an insult and derision that
is flowing down onto Kirk Cousins right now, and he
is actually, of the six top paid quarterbacks in the NFL,
(01:14:52):
the only guy who has got his team in the
playoffs right now. Because when I hear that the six
highest paid quarterbacks in the NFL or Aaron Rodgers, matt Ryan,
Kirk Cousins, Jimmy Garoppolo, Matthew Stafford, and Derek Carr, and
only Kirk Cousins has his team in the playoffs. I
actually think we're being a little bit too tough on Cousins.
(01:15:12):
You thank you, you think Here's what I offered up
on Twitter. If you didn't like Kirk Cousins, what were
your better options? Again, you have to remember what are
your options? And this is not a well listen, we
could have we could have brought Teddy Bridgewater back. Well,
guess what they had Teddy Bridgewater and they didn't think
Teddy Bridgewater was either one good enough or too medically
(01:15:34):
proven to be able to withstand any sort of being.
There were questions about whether Teddy Bridgewater could stand up
to playing quarterback physically before he tore his A C
L and m c L and everything else in his knee.
If you think Teddy Bridgewater was worth it, how come
nobody else in the NFL did. The Jets had mr
the third quarterback, and then the Saints frankly overpaid for
(01:15:55):
a backup with a third round, third round pick. He'll
be on the market this year and he'll be signed
as a guy who's a backup who might have a
chance to earn his way to being a starter. But
you should know if you're Minnesota, and Minnesota, I'm sure
it feels pretty good about it. The same goes for
case Keenum. There's all way we could have kept case Keenum.
Case Keenum got eighteen million dollars eighteen million dollars per
(01:16:17):
to go to the Broncos, so you would have to
pay at least that at least that um. The Broncos
defense is giving up fewer points per game, has more
sacks and more receptions than last year. Denver is second
in rushing touchdowns, seventh in rushing yards per game. So
it's not the defense. It's not the run game. And
(01:16:39):
look where the Broncos are. I will grant you they
trade away one ride receiver and just lost their best
wide receiver for the year. But it hasn't been the
running game. There's a reason they parted ways with the
Marius Thomas because I thought they had a better one.
Kirk Cousins has nine more touchdowns, one less interception, forty
(01:17:03):
three more yards a game, second in the NFL, and
completion percentage case Keenum is twenty seven by comparison, nine
points lower, higher yards per attempt, higher quarterback rating. Cousins
has even taken more sacks. Oh. Last season with the Vikings,
they were better. Vikings were number one in points per
(01:17:27):
game last season, their eleventh this year. Last season, excuse me,
their defense was number one. They're the best defense in football.
Last year, this year the eleventh. Last year, the Vikings
were seventh in rushing yards a game and seventh in
rushing TVs. Their defense was better. Mike Zimmer did a
bait and switch on you. I'm not telling you Kirk
Cousins was great on Monday Night. He wasn't, by the way,
(01:17:48):
neither was Russell Wilson, who's a good quarterback. And if
I said, hey, Russell Wilson's not worth the money, goes
oh yeah, yeah he is. Okay, he might be the solution,
but he's not the problem. There is no stat nor
is there a single personnel guy in the NFL that
(01:18:10):
would tell you they'd rather have case Keenum even a
ten million dollars less than Kirk Cousins. Kirk Cousins is solid.
Kirk Cousins the fourth Concert's already thrown for thirty six
thousand and thirty six hundred yards to throw for four
thousand yards? Did I say he's great? No, but even
great quarterbacks Aaron Rodgers no playoffs. Rappol obviously got hurt.
(01:18:33):
How many years has Philip Rivers been awesome and not
been in the playoffs? Why because his team sucked? Or
last year his kicker sucked. So this well, they're not
gonna They're probably, by the way, still going to make
the playoffs, just just so we're aware. And oh yeah,
by the way, no one except me points out two things. One,
last year the Packers lost Aaron Rodgers and had no chance.
(01:18:59):
The Bears had John Fox, dead man walking and remember
started the year with Mike Glennon as their quarterback. The
Lions fired their head coach. It was a lay up.
The Cowboys should have made the playoffs if Zeke didn't
get suspended, right. The Rams surprised everybody, and so too
(01:19:20):
did the Eagles, but one reason they did was because
of all of the injuries in their division, the collapse
of the Seahawks, the injuries in New York with the Giants.
All of this played a role in the Vikings having
a great season and wins and losses. But mostly their
defense was better, They ran the football better, their offensive
(01:19:44):
line was better. They had to have a quarterback, and
your your choices were a J. McCarron holding onto Teddy Bridgewater,
which I'm i'm led to believe was not a not
a choice because the get doctors were like no way
or case keenom who they had who has no arm
even in the dome. And it took a miracle. It
(01:20:08):
took a badly misplayed ball by a rookie cornerback to
save them and beat the Saints at home. Otherwise they
lose to the Saints at home, which should never happen
because the Saints are a terrible road team who Drew
Brees their quarterback, and not saying he's the solution. I
don't believe he's the problem. And he was far and
(01:20:29):
away the best choice and they paid, if anything, below
market value for him. The Jets offered him more money,
but he went with the Vikings anyway. Not everybody has
to be friends. Like, we don't all had to be friends.
We don't all have to exchange Christmas cards. Sometimes a
(01:20:51):
little animosity is a good thing, especially in the NBA.
I'll explain why next in the Doug Golip Show. Fox
Sports Radio has the best sports talk line up in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at Fox sports
Radio dot com and within the I Heart Radio app
search f s R to listen live. What Up Tug
Gottlieb Show, Fox Sports Radio? How do we get to
(01:21:15):
this place where everybody has to like one another? Everybody
has to be friendly to one another, can't talk trash
about somebody, or you can't even slight anybody in any
sort of way. That ain't real. We we got to this,
like offended Jet with this and I hate to use
(01:21:38):
the snowflake term because it's just it can be so
derogatory in terms of calling people who really are sensitive
to other people's needs. But that's not what I'm I'm
not discussing some other person's true feelings, are talking about
their background or their emotional baggage. I'm just talking about
what we're talking about sports here. How is have become
(01:22:00):
blasphemy to say, like, hey, you know, I don't think
he's that skilled. I don't think he's that good. Everything
is either racially motivated or hate. You're a hater, You're
a hater. You don't think Lebron is the best player
of all time, You're a hater. Or maybe I don't know.
I just don't. I just don't. Can I tell you something?
(01:22:25):
This really comical. Everybody talks about the Bulls teams that
won the title as if they're the greatest teams ever.
What an unbelievable collection of talent. He won his first
NBA title with Horse Grant. Couldn't shoot good athlete, couldn't
shoot Bill Cartwright, whose nickname was medical Bill Cartwright. That
(01:22:48):
was his nickname, look it up. Because he could never
stay healthy. Bill Cartwright had one of the ugliest jump
shots ever over his head, right arm out. Somehow made
John Paxson. He well, he's not even the best of
the Packsons. And we think of Scottie Pippen, but when
they first won NBA title, Scottie Pippen wasn't an all
(01:23:09):
time legend at the end of his run when he
won an NBA title, Pippen was a great number two.
And he had Dennis Rodman, who was way past his
prime as a great defender. Was a non offensive player,
just a great rebounder and played hard, but he wasn't
the worm from back in the Detroit days where he
(01:23:31):
could guard any position, and he definitely didn't offer anything
up offensively. Steve Kerr, go look at Steve Kerr. Oh,
he played with one of the all time greats. Really,
huh huh, that's funny. Steve Kerr basketball stats interesting. Um,
(01:24:00):
let's see here. Steve Kerr started all of thirty games
his entire NBA career. He average six points a game.
Don't get me wrong, he was incredibly clutch. Made a
big shot against the Seattle SuperSonics. They actually started Ron
(01:24:20):
Harper at the point. Ron Harper had been a superstar
earlier in his career in Cleveland. Then he tore his
a c L and then he's found a rebirth playing
for Phil Jackson where he was just a defender and
could stand outside and sometimes hit a shot. Like those
(01:24:41):
Bulls teams were great, but you know it wasn't like
they were the greatest teams ever. They just weren't Tony Coo,
coach B. J. Armstrong, Steve Kerr will per do like
those guys aren't going into the Hall Fame. So the
(01:25:03):
first thing is like, there's this false narrative about Wow,
you know Jordan played a seventy two win team like
his team was not. It was a perfect collection of
guys that fit roles, but he didnt played with other stars,
other superstars, Tony Scottie pippinbe came one and yes, the
one year, the one year after he retired, they had
(01:25:24):
a great regular season. We've never matched up great regular
seasons with great teams. Don't believe me. The Bulls actually
finished third in their division. Then they when he came
back for a full year, they they won seventy two games.
A little bit of a change there, right, a little bit,
(01:25:47):
a little bit. Robin average five points a game. Luke
Longley was the starting center when they won seventy two games. Oh,
it's one of the greatest teams ever. Luke, Luke Longley,
Tony Coo, Coach, Ron Harper, Steve Kerr, Ron Harper thirty
two At that time, thirty two was like thirty eight
now anyway, So here's what happened. Uh, two different interviews
(01:26:12):
with Kevin Durant, one in which he basically said, um,
and I'm paraphrasing now, he doesn't understand why people don't
appreciate Kobe and Michael Jordan's as like Mozart and Beethoven.
And he threw Kyrie in there as well, for their
their ability to use angles and shot making and the
(01:26:33):
skill that they had. And he said, like, anytime somebody
comes to his apartment, he shows them videos of Jordans
just to show how great he was. And look, do
I think it's a completely a slight at Lebron James. No,
And part of it is they're currently competitors, But I
think it's also expressing with Kevin Durant really feels, which
(01:26:55):
is what a lot of people in the NBA field.
Lebron is only now in reasing his skill as a shooter.
A lot of what Lebron has been able to do is.
He's just bigger and stronger in a league which has
gone to nobody in the paint, maybe a skinny shop
blocker in the paint. Guys built like Lebron James used
(01:27:16):
to be called power forwards, a position that really doesn't
exist now true power forwards. Charles Oakley could not play
in the NBA today. Couldn't play. I couldn't play. I'm
not sure Tim Duncan is Tim Duncan if he comes
into the NBA this year. It sounds like blasphemy, but
that's how the league has changed. Kr Malone same thing,
(01:27:40):
great screen role player, mid rain shooter, low post scorer.
But how do who does Karl Malone guard? How does
he play in today's NBA? He doesn't. But a guy
who's Karl Malone's size with better basketball skill is Lebron James.
(01:28:00):
And so he's able to play downhill and to force
contact and not have help coming in the lane when
he struggled as a shooter much of his career. So
I also don't think you have to like everybody, or
you have to say nice things about everybody. You don't.
(01:28:22):
You know, like kids will go through this. When your
kid has a birthday, party. You gotta invite everybody in
the class. Really, you know what the dumbest thing about
parenting is the fact that you have to give You're
supposed to give um party gifts, party party gifts to
people who come to your kid's birthday party. So let's
(01:28:42):
say I go to a place called Circus Tricks, which
is big in my neighborhood, a buddy case that Jacobson
runs it. Circus Tricks is down in San Juan Capistrano.
So I gotta rent out Circus Tricks. I gotta buy pizza,
I gotta buy drinks. I gotta be their parent, parental supervision.
They bring presents, and then I got to give them
(01:29:04):
a parting gift. That's actually the way it works. But
then at some point you get to the age you're like,
you know, we're not gonna do that. Give me your
two friends. We'll go to Disneyland for the day. Give
me your two friends and we'll go to movies, and
we'll go to k one Speed, and we'll go to
the beach. We'll do a bunch of a bunch of
different stuff. You don't need all of that. And that's
really what Kevin Durant saying he didn't actually say a
(01:29:26):
word about Lebron James. Now you can tell how he
feels about Lebron James's skill or lack thereof in comparison
to Kobe Bryant or to Michael Jordan's, and how he reflects.
He also reflects something. This is the crazy thing, and
maybe this is actually a tip of the cap to
Lebron James. No one actually believes Lebron James is a great,
true pure score, right like you wouldn't say in the
(01:29:47):
great scores in the history of the NBA, there's Lebron James,
and yet he could go down as the as the
all time lean score in NBA history. It should be
pointed out that no one really thinks that about Karl
Malo and either he's number two currently. But I think
it's how he sees the world. This is an artist
(01:30:07):
talking about other artists that he appreciates. This is a
score talking about other scores he appreciates. And oh yeah,
by the way, you don't have to say nice things
about everybody. He just don't. You don't have to say.
I think he should say there's other scores he should
talk about. Notice he didn't say Tracy McGrady or Allen
Iverson Dominiquigns, who I don't think are nearly at the
(01:30:30):
level of Kobe Bryant. And I think it's laughable that
anybody compares Dominique and Tracy like Traycean McGray shouldn't be
in the Basketball Hall of Fame. I can't even say
Karmelo Anthony, who's an incredible score. Karmelo Anthony was a
great score as good as it was in the NBA,
and the game has kind of passed him by a
little bit, not just athletically now, but in terms of stylistically.
(01:30:53):
You need to be a three point shooter, you need
to be able to get to the rim, and he
was more of a post up, mid range guy who
could catch and shoot casely as well. He was a
great score. He didn't mention him, not because he's hating
on him, but like, look, dude, I only have the bandwidth.
I mentioned the two guys as a great score that
I respect the most. And if everybody didn't get an
invite to the party, you know what, if not for
(01:31:15):
Instagram or we have to take pictures of every party
that we have, no one would actually know or do
this with the College Football Playoffs? How come that turns
off Flora to turn your playoff? No, they shouldn't, They're
not as good. Look, do I think that people kiss
(01:31:36):
up to the SEC a little bit too much? Sure?
But then I watch all these NFL teams. They are
made up of the brightest minds in scouting, and they
all go like, you know, he's got the best players
Ohio State in the SEC. So that's what I think.
But I think, and when you play against better teams
(01:32:00):
with better players all the time, you're gonna get beaten up.
You're gonna lose some of these games. People make fun
of the SEC. The SEC, it just means more, it
actually does. It actually means a lot more to them
than does the rest of us. But we do this
with the SE, We do this with the college fall Playoff.
Why can't everybody get in because we don't want to?
(01:32:21):
Because we said so four is enough. Greg co self

(01:33:07):
the Sky Don't Lie, and that I belongs to Greg
co Cell's NFL Films unit. He joins us here in
the Doug Gottlis Show on Fox Sports Radio. I had
an interesting conversation with an NFL GM Sunday night that
I've I've shared with our listeners and that Pat Mahomes
no look throw and a couple of those other those.
He's like, look, I've never seen him I do that
in the game before. Have you. I can recall seeing
(01:33:30):
Brett Farve makea no look throw in my years here
at NFL Films, So yeah, I have seen that. Um.
He seems though also to be trying things that I'm
not sure they work. In the playoffs. You mentioned. Farv
trend Oor joined us yesterday and he was like, look,
five's perfect perfect. He said the same thing about far
By the way. Uh he said, A five shouldn't want
(01:33:52):
to cut more Super Bowls. But the turnovers thrown across
his body in the postseason doesn't work like it does
the regular season. What what's your level of uh be
caution with how how crazy we're going over some of
these chances that he's taking that might backfire in the playoffs.
I think there's a very fine line. He's successful up
to this point, and and we've seen him do some
(01:34:13):
things that are outstanding and that we really don't see
that often. So I think the tendency is to say that, Wow,
this guy is just incredibly special, and there's no question
he's a special thrower. But I think you do there's
a real fine line in history suggests this Doug and
a balance between being reckless and being sort of dynamic improvisationally.
(01:34:36):
And there's no rule book that defines that line. But
it's you just don't know that. That's a very hard
question to answer. There's no there's no answer. It's not
a mathematical equation. You also, in watching that film you
watch Lamar Jackson the g M I talked to us like, look,
short term, that stuff works long term or when you
get in the third long doesn't work, doesn't don't have
(01:34:58):
a great long outlook once people start to get a
book on what they're doing, how they're how they're doing today.
He was named the starter for the Ravens. Is Flacco
is gonna be a healthy backup? Um? Do you think
long term this plan works in Baltimore? Uh? Well, they're
speaking about what Lamar Jackson is right now, and right
(01:35:20):
now he's not necessarily capable of being anywhere near consistent
in the longer yard a situations. In situations uh, where
the defense has the tactical advantage um, where he understands
what he's seeing before the snap and then making adjustments
after the snap. He's not prepared to do that right now.
The question really is can he be prepared to do
(01:35:43):
that with more experience down the road. I always find
it difficult, Doug, to make definitive judgments about players after
three games even a year. If we did that with
Jared Goffe, he'd be out of the league. So if
the larger point is where he is now, can you
be a quality starting quarterback in this league over time? No?
(01:36:04):
But I think that's a little unfair to say that
this is what he'll be for the rest of his career.
How do they keep them healthy? Well, that's a big question.
Uh Now, there have been guys who have run around
a lot. Russell Wilson has run around a lot in
his career, and I don't think he's missed more than
a game or two if that. Uh So that I
can't answer. Now. The one thing that you noticed when
(01:36:25):
you watch Lamar Jackson in college, Doug, and I don't
know how much you saw him, was he was a tough,
competitive runner, and that he cannot be in the NFL.
He he fought for extra yards in college and that
won't work in the NFL. Yeah, I don't know these
guys who don't slide. I don't. I don't understand, Like,
I don't what what don't you need? You're not proving
anything to us by showing us how tough you are.
(01:36:47):
I get the football mentality and the leadership idea of it,
but you can't lead if you're on the sideline. And
guys that have fought for extra yards always end up
fighting to get out of that training room. Greg, No,
that's exactly right. And his body type as you've been
around him. I've been around him. You know, he's a
sin and we build kind of guy. He's not He's muscular,
(01:37:07):
but he's not big. Yeah, he's a little thicker than
he's thicker than Teddy Bridgewater, but not not not a ton,
not even built like Mike Vick, Mike Fixed, much more
solidly solid or Russell Wilson, Doug gotlib show Fox Sports Trader,
that's the voice of Greg co Sell. A lot of
talk about Kirk Cousins, and I'll just tell you kind
of what you're walking into. I I understand that that
Kirk Cousins is not Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady or Drew Brees.
(01:37:32):
But none of those guys were available, right, So their
choices were Bridgewater, who no one knows if he can
stay healthy or keep keeping Keenham and got eighteen million
to go to Denver, or a J McCarron, Right, Like
those are there? Those those are And I actually think
Cousins has been pretty good on a team that's not
as good around him as they were last year. You
(01:37:53):
watch the tape, what do you see from the vice?
Here's what I think you have to start with. You
have to start with what Kirk Cousins is, and I
think everybody knows what Kirk Cousins is. The money made
people think that he was the top five quarterback in
the league. Kirk Cousins is a distributor and an orchestrator
of a multidimensional offense that needs a consistent run game.
(01:38:13):
And for whatever reason, and maybe that's why John D.
Philippo was fired, I don't know, but I would assume
these conversations would have been had with Mike Zimmer and
John D. Filippo before he was hired. This team has
not run with much of volume. When they have run,
they've not been very good at it. Overall, they seem
to be getting a little better. But Kirk Cousins is
not a quarterback that can drop back as many times
(01:38:36):
as they've asked him to do this season. So the
fact that he's been inconsistent, because if you look at
his numbers, if someone just pulls up the statute and
looks at his numbers, they'll say he's having a very
good season. But he's not been consistent because he's not
that kind of quarterback. Very few quarterbacks can drop back
as many times as they were asking Kirk Cousins to
drop back. So he's not necessarily any different. And it's
(01:39:00):
just that this team had major expectations and they're not
running the football. Doug Gotli Show here on Fox Sports Radio. Um,
all right, let's let's bounce around a little bit. Run League.
We talked about Mahomes. We didn't talk about the fact
that we're gonna see him tomorrow night and he's not
gonna have a bunch of his weapons right chance, he
didn't have Tyreek Hill. Now they're working on a third
stream running back. No, Sammy Watkins, how does that offense
(01:39:23):
look when you take away the speed of the Tyreek Hill. Well,
I think that's critical. The speed of Hills critical because
I think it's it's not just critical, and the fact
that he can make plays, it's critical and the fact
of how teams defend him. And and that's why the
vertical dimension in the offense is so important. In teams
that don't have it end up struggling at times. And
in fact, the Saints are going through that a little
bit right now because they don't really have any vertical dimension.
(01:39:46):
And over the last three weeks they have very few
twenty plus yard plays because teams are starting to recognize
that they can't really be beaten over the top. So
what happens is unless they scheme it up and it
works perfectly, they just don't have the weapons for that.
So Hill is absolutely critical, and Kelsey is obviously critical
because he's the most dynamic, explosive tight end in the
(01:40:08):
league and he can get vertical as well. We're gonna
see Philip Rivers. I don't know. I don't think we'll
have Melvin Gordon. He's listened as questionable. He's uh, he's
not gonna have Austin Neckler, but he will have all
those talented wide wide receivers. You've watched Philip Rivers on
tape a bunch. They weren't great this past week. He
was really good in the second half against the Steelers,
not so much in the first half. What do you
(01:40:28):
see from the recent tapes of this Charger's offense? Uh,
you know, I think that they are an offense in
many ways that's built on attacking down the field with
vertical type routes, intermediate type route, deep crossers. When they
hit those, they're very very explosive. When they don't hit those,
and those are not a given every week they're a
(01:40:49):
little more condensed and and they're not quite as explosive,
and that's what happens, and that's where the run game
becomes a factor. And obviously without Melvin Gordon, I imagined
Justin Jackson, the north Western kid, will get the start
and get the bulk of the carries, and I think
for a game or two he can be very very effective.
So you know, I think that that's something they probably
need to rely on a little more if they're not
(01:41:10):
going to get those plays. Now they're playing a Chief's
defense whose tendency has been to play a lot of
man to man coverage, and I think they're going to
be able to get big shot opportunities in this game.
Um Sunday night, we saw the Rams go into Chicago,
and it's easy for Rams fans. Was cold. Nobody wants
playing the cold. But but you're not from Los Angeles.
(01:41:32):
It was cold. I'm just telling you. When you live
out of here and it's seventy two every day, and
then if it's fifty, you're like, oh my god, what
is it fifty degrees? When it's starting something degrees, you're like, man,
that's cool, all right, But Ellen, but you're like, look,
we're gonna play at home or playing the Dome in
New Orleans in the playoffs, no big deal. But to
those of us really paying attention, Jared Goff didn't play
(01:41:52):
well against Lillions, didn't play well against the Bears. What
are teams doing to make him play poorly? Well? This week,
schame was a little different. Um, he hasn't really been
as sharp the last four or five weeks as he
was earlier in the season, and some of that is
just him missing throws. But this particular game was different
because of what the Bears do Doug vic fan Joe
maybe the best in the league, a kind of blurring
(01:42:14):
the lines of his coverage between man and zone and
showing zone principles and man concepts, pattern matching, matchup zone,
doing all those kinds of things. And it takes a
little bit of time to figure all that out. And
don't forget you're trying to figure that out at the
same time you've got a pass rush with Khalil Mack,
(01:42:34):
Akeem Hicks and at times Leonard Floyd. So I thought
in that game that Goff was very unsettled pretty early
in the game. I didn't get the sense watching the tape.
He was real clear on what he was seeing. And
when the quarterback doesn't feel comfortable with what he's seeing
it he really struggles to play. How much different were
the Packers after the coaching change. I don't think they
(01:42:55):
were dramatically different. I mean, you know, I think they
ran the ball and I think they got to continue
to do that. Um, you know, I think we'll get
a better idea. They play the Bears this week, and
I think we'll get a much better feel for what
the Packers try to do offensively this week. Uh, Steelers
lost again. I know Big Bend didn't play part of
(01:43:16):
the second half because the web. Um, but this is
three and row and now they have now they have
the Patriots coming in as well. When you watch the
Steelers on tape, what's missing? Oh, I think it's pretty evident.
You go, they've lost three and rrow. As you said,
you know what in in those three games, Here's here's
what their breakdown is offensively. And just think about this
for a minute. I know these are numbers, but the
quarterback has dropped back a hundred and forty nine times
(01:43:38):
in these three games. The running backs have rushed the
ball forty six times think about that. You can't play
like that. And their offense has sort of settled into
in the past game being individual routes and they have
good players so they can win individual routes or Roethlisberger
making second reaction plays. There's no rhythm to their offense
at all, right now, no rhythm at all Baker Mayfield. Um,
(01:44:03):
it seems we see the electric plays, the explosive plays.
We saw some turnovers kind of the week before, and
you said, Hey, what impressed me was even after those turnovers,
he still had a ton of confidence. You watch Baker
Mayfield this week and you continue to be impressed. Oh
my god, I thought he was. He was really efficient
this week. His ball placement is so precise. That's the
(01:44:23):
defining feature of his play. He beats tight coverage because
he places the ball exactly where it needs to go. Uh.
I thought he was really really good this week. And
I love how aggressive he is turning it loose. I
think that's an NFL quarterback trade. Um. And he has
a very good feel for both climbing the pocket and
then navigating the pocket with effective movements. So I think
(01:44:45):
he's an improving player. I think he'll get better they
have a running back. I think I think this offense
has a chance to just get better and better. Awesome stuff.
Greg Costell NFL Films. He joins us every week. Greg,
thanks so much, right, I appreciate it. Thank you. Let's
let's get to Dan Fuyer find out what else is
going on the world sports when Yeah, Chargers Chiefs you
touched on it. Dug a lot of injury news in
(01:45:06):
that game. Chief set of things. Tyree Kill expected to
play but considered questionable with the healings. Ree Spencer were
doubtful in that backfield. He's got hamstring and shoulder injuries,
and he has pianos. Reporter and Eric Berry could make
his debut for the Chiefs playing tomorrow night against the Chargers.
As for the Bolts, l A will be without Austin
(01:45:26):
Ekeler Melvin Gordon a gametime decision. As you touched on,
how about this injury in the NFL Carson wentzmis practice
today with the back issue. The NFL network says the
Eagles quarterback he's not gonna play against the Ramas on
Sunday and could miss the rest of the season. Joe
Flacco is healthy, but he's not the starter. In Baltimore,
Ravens have named Lamar Jackson they're starting quarterback against the Buccaneers.
(01:45:48):
It's a new role for the backup QB. Now backup QB.
According to his head coach, Joe was a leader. He's excited.
You know, he's looking forward to, uh having a role,
Joseph pro, he's got class. Listen, there's a very good
chance we're gonna need Joe flack on any other player
that's in that role, a backup role, to to win
us a game. That's how everybody started in the National
(01:46:09):
Football again that you know, that's just the way it is.
You really think Joe was excited, Doug and then zero
percent chance? First of all, Joe Foco was never excited.
You think he was excited. Like, hey, Joe, listen, you
know the starting quarterback job, you know the one you
want the supero with. And when he've been here, I
know you're healthy, you're gonna be everybody's a starter. You're
(01:46:29):
just not gonna be on the field when the game
begins and hopefully unless Lamar gets hurt when the game ends.
Outside of that, you sir starter? How about that? Alright? Yeah, great,
this is great news. Uh, that was the news out
of Baltimore today. Hey, the Dallas Stars take out the

It's heading to Vegas in Doug Gottlieb Show, Fox Sports
Radio Vegas for the draft. That doesn't seem like very much.
(01:47:13):
That'll go well, that won't be that want. That won't
be that big a show. If they do it right classically,
it should be amazing. It should be amazing. Of course
that's the first draft of the Raiders will be in Vegas.
Where are the Raiders play? In the meantime, they're like, Oh,
she's playing in San Diego, which would be cool, right'd
(01:47:33):
be cool? My draw decently. I don't think it would
be as big a thing and people like, oh, they
would sell out, they would go they would sell out,
Like m don't sell out in Oakland, Like, well, that's
because they were leaving. No, they didn't sell out before
they were leaving. That's has anybody actually been in Qualcom.
(01:47:53):
It's a dump, It's a dump. I love this. Like
Chargers should have it in San Diego. They didn't have
a stadium and it was a stadium. Oh well, they
should have paid the money to to build the stadium
where they didn't want it to be, Like, no, they
want to be downtown, and people shot it down even
(01:48:14):
though it wouldn't have cost them a penny. Look, I'm bummed.
They should have had a state if they had a
stadium in downtown San Diego, like they were gonna have that?
Has it done? That would have had a dome, got
a Final Four, they would have got a BCS or
whatever you call a college football playoff national championship. They've
got a bigger ball game. They've got anything they possibly
could have wanted. And now they're gonna have to beg
(01:48:35):
for the Raiders. Oh the Raiders that come to your stadium. Ah,
the worst, the worst. The Raiders are. Like it's like UFC.
It's like ask anybody who owns a sports bar where
they got like a UFC fight like, yeah, well, you know, listen,
(01:48:57):
when we have it on, people do show up, but
we also have to have call extra security because there's
always a fight. No. No, Raider fans are awesome. They are.
I mean, look, they're very happy to be out of
jail for the weekend, to get to get to the
games weekend. For low I'm kidding sort of. My favorite
(01:49:18):
was TVs. They're still had picture tubes in them. Oh
my gosh, I mean, like the video board. There's such
a joke, such a it's it's like going to it's
obviously like going to what you like European stadiums, like
the Landed Time forgot. You're walking like, oh my god,
look at all these wires because everything was analog and
now it's digital. It was such a dump, such a dump.
(01:49:42):
I feel terrible for like people in San Diego were
great fans, just you couldn't get people to vote for
the stadium to be passed, even though it didn't come
out of their pockets at all when the all time
to backles all timer. Um. Frankly, if I'm Anaheim Stadium,
I figure out a way to get get the Raiders
to play there. I have one team, one bad team.
(01:50:07):
Call your stadium home when you can have two, right, Hey,
once they play in Baker, that's halfway to Las Vegas
played the Mad played the Mad Greek had a lot
of food plates. Wait for people who don't know they
haven't been. There's a you drive on I fifteen from
Los Angeles to Vegas, like halfway in between, there's a
little town called Baker. It's got a restaurant we always
(01:50:29):
used to stop at. You know, actually I've actually stayed
the night in Baker. This is here's the true story. Okay,
in nineteen somebody had to look up this game. Um,
I think it was two, which would have made me
how old sixteen? So maybe there's nine one or nineteen
(01:50:51):
either ninety nine one. Which year did UNLV win the
National Championship? So okay, so it's the Winter of nine.
Look this, give me favor. Looked this game up. December,
un l V played Georgetown. Okay, my dad is like December,
(01:51:12):
like the Desert Classic. They played Georgetown one night in
Florida State. The next night, so my dad's like, hey,
you want to go to the UNLV game? Like yeah, sure,
Like all right, let's go. So we started driving and
he gets he wasn't feeling well. We get to Baker
and he's like full fledged, like sick. So we're like,
all right, we're gonna stay the night in Baker. He'll
feel better in the morning. Only didn't feel better in
(01:51:34):
the morning and I had to dry. I had to
finish the drive to Vegas for him. I was fourteen
years old. I think it was nine. I think it
was December of nine, so it was almost fifteen. True story.
Maddrick is an awesome place. Where should they play? So
I've here's the places where it's been rumored that they
could play. Glendale is one. Glendale is one. I have
(01:51:58):
a big fan base in Phoenix. Um, I've I've heard
there's no chance they play at the Niner Stadium. None. Um,
there's talk of Los Angeles. Remember there's the Colosseum. You know.
I guess you could throw another team in there. The
Rose Bowl. I don't. I don't know Raiders fans fit there.
I don't know. I mean, I don't think you I
don't think they have high school football at an i'm stadium,
(01:52:20):
but I don't think you can do NFL football there. Uh.
There was a couple of other cities dan Byer where
they were they were talking about potentially playing Um, I
mean you could just play you know, you get to
Mexico City, game play one overseas now and he needs six, right,
and he just needs six some games? Like, all right,
we just need six something. Guys, play one in San Diego.
Let's play you know, one in l A. Let's play
(01:52:43):
one in Glendale. Let's play one in San Francisco. How
bad is sam Boyd Stadium for them to not I
don't know anyone who's ever been to sam Boyd Stadium, Like,
I know it exists, I just don't know where it exists.
But I don't think it has the potential to be
an NFL stadium like and just for to get through,
I don't think so. Obviously they can't do it. Otherwise
(01:53:05):
they'd be there. They'd be there already fast. It's a
fascinating thing to watch. What about if you played in Barstow?
You know, it maybe a little closer, you know, I'm
just at the McDonald's at the Popeyes at the other side.
Nobody knows that anything. There's a Popeyes. I didn't even
know the world's biggest McDonald's. I think the world's biggestal
(01:53:27):
is actually in Moscow. Now I've been to that one too,
but used to be in Barstow. But there's still a
big McDonald's there. Like literally, you never go to McDonald's.
Then you go to Barstley, like I gotta go to
the Donald's like the biggest in the world, and the
fries are good. The NFL continues to grow overseas. I'll
tell you about it next. Be sure to catch live editions.
So the Doug dot Leap Show weekdays at noon Eastern
(01:53:48):
three pm Pacific, Doug Gottli Show, Fox Sports Radio. What
would you tell him to do? We had tomorrow and
we have George Kiddo from the forty Niners and Cowboys
kicker Brett mar will join us. We'll get you ready
for Thursday night. Football should be good. Wine Chargers taken
on the Chiefs. That should be awesome on Fox TV.
(01:54:09):
Let's catch you to the press, the press, damn bye,
what you got got a lot? Doug. Let's follow up
on the conversation we just had because Mark Davis, the
owner of the Raiders, was asked today at the NFL
meetings in Texas on the team's future for nineteen after
they were sued yesterday by the city of Oakland. Is
(01:54:30):
there any place or a chance you'll go to Las
Vegas one year earlier? Is that not? Options are open?
And since we're talking about options San Diego, some people
have thrown that out in terms of a possible landing
spot for a year? Is that something? All options are open?
So that ruling outside so and and one more to this,
(01:54:55):
apparently Oakland is still an option. Is it still possible
you time? As I said emotionally, you know, um, I
don't want to pay for my own lawsuit, but for
the fans, it's something that I've got to think about. Okay, Yeah,
you don't want to pay for your lost That that
would be that would just be weird. That'd be like
(01:55:15):
War of the Roses, right, do you guys remember where
the Roses? John Ramos, Yeah, Kathleen Turner, Michael Douglas yea
and Dan DeVito. Okay, so they're they're gonna get a divorce,
but they don't want both want the house, so they
draw a red line down the middle of the house
(01:55:35):
and stay on their respective sides. A right good eighties movie.
Kathleen Douglas, Michael Michael, Mike Kathy term Michael Douglas. They
also had what the other was? The other movie they
had together, Um, the Stone Man Sing the Stone I've
got questions. So who got the kitchen? It was split
down the middle. Interesting in the middle, so the oven.
(01:55:58):
It's like, I've got a t think got the kitchen,
Michael Douglas. Michael Douglas got the kitchen? What are you thinking?
I'm just seeing some male chauving his pick. You know
you don't Michael Douglas take at the kitchen, just saying
there's things that you may want and don't want. Maybe
if the bathrooms are on one side of the house,
that maybe that was. It was a big house. There's
more than one bathroom. Bathrooms alright, it might even ben
(01:56:20):
been a bidet. As as we mentioned, the NFL Draft
will be in Las Vegas and the cities that beat
out for the option to host the draft, Cleveland and
Kansas City. I just don't see anybody going, like, I
know they want to move it around. It's Nashville this year.
(01:56:43):
Nashville is It's like they called nash Vegas. Um, I
think it'll be l A will be next. Got'll be
for the opening of the new stadium, so right, which
I guess we want the new stadium open two tho
twenties as well, but they'll have one in the new
stadium probably twenty one. More NFL scheduling, they announced there
(01:57:04):
will be four games in London next season, with an
additional international game in Mexico City. The matchups have not
been announced, but the home teams for those games have
been Rams, Jaguars, Chargers, Raiders, and Buccaneers will be playing
in those five games. We just don't know who's going
to Mexico City. It's not gonna be the Jaguars, they've
got their London agreement, but it could be the Chargers,
(01:57:25):
could be the Raiders, could even be the Rams next year,
I would I would guess it will be the Raiders.
Sit They're going like, hey, we'll play, Mexico City, will play,
you know, play one of Mexico City will play. I
mean really, this is probably gonna be six games, right that.
I would guess Raiders do that they you know, Raiders,
Rams in Mexico City or just Raiders again in Mexico. Yeah.
Agent Scott Boras spoke a Bryce Harper's free agency today,
(01:57:48):
and that includes the Yankees place and all of this,
you're talking about star players. The Yankees are very adept,
they're smart, They're gonna do something. I think they can
earnestly tell you that right now they're not doing it
and have every intention of doing something else when it's
best for them to do it. Jakey's win, I thought
(01:58:11):
there was an end to that, but that was Scott Boris.
I don't know what to think of it. I don't ever,
but like Scott Borris also told us he had a
deal in place before he ever hit free agency, and
we haven't seen a deal done, so I tend to
believe Brian Cashman more than Scott bors. The Phoenix City
Council voted today Doug to postpone their vote on arena renovations.
(01:58:35):
We talked about this for talking Stick Arena in downtown Phoenix.
The vote was to take place today and likely would
have failed, which fields speculation that owner Robert Sarver would
attempt to move the team to Vegas or Seattle. Yeah.
I also think there's a chance they get one built
uh By on the reservation. That's another possibility, but I
don't think that's a good one. I think you know
(01:58:56):
you want these arenas and stadiums in populated areas, so
you have entertainment districts that that's what's that's what's working.
And um, I don't think they're gonna get it in Phoenix.
They gotta build the stay, gotta fix the stadium too.
So remember when everybody wanted to move to Phoenix and
it was like such a hot place. Now it seems
(01:59:17):
like it still is a hot place. It's a hot place,
and now it seems like it's so being overtaken by
Las Vegas with everything that it's just kind of no
longer that place in the middle of the desert because
that's where Las Vegas now is. Well, I hate the
big they're both in the middle of a desert. Well,
I know, but no, but Vegas has become cool Vegas.
(01:59:38):
Vegas has become legitimized. That's really what it is. Yeah,
Bucks forward Yanna Denna Coompo gonna play tonight against the
Pacers after missing Monday's game with a neck injury. Victor Oladipo,
you spoke with Nate McMillan yesterday, likely to be on
a minute's restriction tonight, but he is gonna play. Yeah,
that's the word. You're excited about that? Yeah, you honest
is back Bucks unveiled one of their sixteen earned jerseys,
(02:00:01):
or at least they were leaked, kind of like the
They're white with the old green palette that they had
of the different shades of green in one of the sections. Anyway,
it kind of looks sharp. Celtics card car Rearmbing expect
to return from shoulders soreness and played it out against
the Wizards. Kauahi Leonard status up in the air for
the Raptors and Warriors tonight, but the expectation is Kauai
will play in that game. Exit sitting last night and preview,
(02:00:27):
you think possibly. I still think the Celtics are the
favorite of the Celtics are not healthy at all, at all,
not healthy at all. But I think, like if you
told me it's gonna be the Warriors and Thunder, I've
told people the Thunder the second best team in the West. Uh.
I don't know what happens with Andre Robertson if he
plays this year, but if you told me this was
(02:00:47):
two of the final four teams, I would say, yeah,
you're probably right back out there and pressed that the
press excited about tomorrow night but kind of bummed we're
not going to have all the players that we thought
we would have, right, I mean, that's really kind of
what it comes down to. Um. Look, my general takeaway
on the Kevin Durant thing is this, Kevin Durant doesn't
(02:01:10):
have to be a Lebron James fan. And you know what,
it doesn't look great when you're currently a fan of
a guy in the league. Not everybody has to be
Duane Wade with Lebron James. And as he said previously,
he doesn't like media people being fanboys. He doesn't want
to be a fanboy. Makes sense. Stull gotlip show
