Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, this is the Doug Gottli Show. Heres in
the Bonus with Doug Gottlis.
Speaker 2 (00:11):
What up, Doug? In the Bonus? Fox Sports Radio, iHeartRadio app. Welcome, Welcome,
Welcome in so guys. I'm in Buffalo because tonight at
six thirty local time, we take on the Bulls. And
(00:32):
last night I had the chance to eat some wing nuts.
Now anchor bars where the Buffalo wing was supposedly invented.
But wing nuts again. And this is if you use
some of the online rankings yelp or whatever, is considered
by some to be the best wing in Buffalo. So,
and I'll just tell you, like on their box, you know,
(00:55):
it says size, sauciness, and crunch because they're all bred,
and I think that might be the difference. But man,
they were really really good wings. I did not get
any with the buffalo sauce. I don't like buffalo sauce. Well,
there's a buffalo tasting dip that I like, but other
than that, I don't like buffalo sauce. Jay Stu, what's
(01:17):
your wing? Did you try the wings when you're in town?
When you're in Buffalo for the for the Bills game.
Speaker 3 (01:23):
I'm gonna I'm gonna defer all this content to Dan Bayer.
He is the on staff wings expert. I just simply
enjoy wings. He took me to at least three, maybe
four of those top places you're referring to, So I'm
gonna just give him the floor.
Speaker 4 (01:39):
Well, I yeah, I be remiss without saying that. When
Jason and I went to Buffalo in mid September, the
goal was to only eat wings, and I feel like
we pretty much accomplished it. The only time that I
didn't feel like I had a wing based meal was
at the game between the Dolphins and Bills. I got
a hot I'll get the game. But when Jason and
(02:02):
I landed, we went to wing Nuts that was right
next to the airport, and then we went to Anchor
Bar on Friday, we went to nine to eleven Tavern
on Friday night. On Saturday we went to Bar Bill
there was there was. Yeah, we made sure that we
had our wings, and I really liked wing Nuts. Barstool
is the one that really put them on the map,
(02:23):
and uh big Cat and those guys in promoting that
wing but I loved wing Nuts when I was there,
and there's sauce isn't a buffalo sauce. There their own
special sauce, which I brought a couple of bottles home,
by the way. Uh, very very good, but it's not
your traditional buffalo.
Speaker 2 (02:40):
What what is the what's what's the flavor? Trying try
and sell me in the place.
Speaker 4 (02:48):
It was more of a sweeter Yes, yes, it was
not as I did the hot as a buffalo could be.
Speaker 2 (02:55):
I did the garlic palm and the honey garlic, and
I like the garlic palm bunch. I did try their signature,
which when I tried it, I was like, oh, that's
not buffalo. It was good. I didn't love it, but
it was good. I don't necessarily I'm not sure that
was part of the honey one, which was the honey
one was really good, but it was. It was a
(03:16):
little weird for me. I love knowingly ordered it.
Speaker 4 (03:19):
I loved it. Jason was thrown off by it, right
like you were.
Speaker 2 (03:22):
That was me. I was thrown off by it because you.
Speaker 4 (03:24):
Were expecting more of a buffalo Jason.
Speaker 3 (03:26):
Is that Yeah, absolutely, it was a different taste. I
enjoyed it. Its just I didn't expect it. There's no
there was no zest to it.
Speaker 2 (03:32):
You know, I do you think by the differences that
they bread all of their wings?
Speaker 4 (03:38):
Yes, difference in their Yes, I think that it's not
only a breading, it's a I'm totally blanking, it's not flower.
But it's a crunch here, you know, it provides that
crunch What am I? What am I talking about? What
ingredient am I missing? But that's what I think that
they end up dousing there the wings and to make
(03:58):
it much more crunchier.
Speaker 2 (04:02):
I agree. I don't think we're good. Okay, I got
anchor bar after the game tonight. Only thing that makes
anchor bar.
Speaker 4 (04:08):
I would not I would not get an anchor bar. No, really,
we were We were right, Jason. We were disappointed. That
was the worst wing that we had underwhelmed.
Speaker 3 (04:21):
We were there, we knew we were at a historic place,
even though we went to the second one in Niagara Falls.
We were in a historic place. But the wings were
the least tasty of the things we tried.
Speaker 2 (04:34):
Okay, is there another one that you would recommend?
Speaker 4 (04:37):
The one that we didn't get to is Duffs. I
heard Duffs is very popular on the Buffalo Wing Coalition pyramid.
The Tier one elite are Sonny's Sunny Reds nine to eleven.
That's where Jason and I went. That's a small place,
pretty cool. Bar Bill Tavern, Kelly's Corner and Adolph's Old
(04:57):
First Ward. Those are the top on the Buffalo Wing Coalition.
Wing Nuts made the second tier.
Speaker 2 (05:05):
It should be noted what's at the very top of
the of the coalition show.
Speaker 4 (05:08):
Sonny Reds, bar Bill Tavern. I loved bar Bill. They
have two locations, Kelly's Corner Adolph's Old First Ward in
nine to eleven. Those are the top wing spots according
to the Buffalo Wing Coalition in the summer of twenty
twenty four.
Speaker 2 (05:25):
There we go, okay, they're noted. Sent to Cayten, the captain,
our director of passwall ops, and he can make a
decision on what the guys eat after the game. All right,
there's our wing discussion.
Speaker 1 (05:37):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Doug Gottlieb
Show weekdays at three pm Eastern noon Pacific on Fox
Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 2 (05:47):
It is the Doug Gottlieb Show. You listening to Fox
Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app. Let's welcome him in.
He's got the k Ford Ratings Index. He's the one
and only Kelly Ford. He joins us on the Doug
Gottlieb Show, as he does every Friday here on Fox
Sports Radio, trying to get us ready for this college
football weekend before we get to Saturday. Let's start with Friday. Okay, tonight,
(06:12):
West Coast USC, fresh off of win at Nebraska. They
welcome in kind of an upstart Northwestern team. But I'm
interested in USC because their schedule is very much backloaded.
After Northwestern, they got Iowa at home next week, then
they go to Oregon, then they got UCLA. I think
(06:33):
we both agree, Kelly. If they win out, they get
to the collegewall playoff.
Speaker 5 (06:38):
Correct, Yeah, Doug ten and two team from the Big ten.
Let alone, with USC's you know, brand recognition that Trojan
ten and two, they're going to be in. The problems
you said is the schedule is backloaded. There's just a
fifteen percent chance based on my current power ratings, that
USC closes here with four more consecutive wins percent chance
(07:01):
on Friday night here at home against Northwestern, seventy one
percent winnings sectancy against Iowa in the coliseum next week.
But then you mentioned it that road trip to Eugene
to play in Austin Stadium only a twenty five percent
chance to win that one. I think USC has to
finish four and oh here with only two losses on
the year to have a chance. We saw three loss
team from the SDC get left out a year ago.
(07:22):
I would expect the committee to treat these big ten
teams the three losses very similarly this year.
Speaker 2 (07:27):
All right, the biggest game in the Big twelve probably
all years, Texas Tech taking on taking on BYU. If
you want to do like opponents. Of course, Tech went
in and smash Utah at Utah, but then turns around
and loses to Arizona State. B YU has not lost
this year, granted soft ale conference schedule with a close win,
(07:49):
you know, with with with no close wins, but no
close games as well. So they take on each other
in Lubbock. Right, tortillas will be thrown. B YU is
a ten and a half point dog. Right, here's the
bigger question. Well, first let's get to the game. Then
we'll get to the bigger questions from the college twall
playoff the computer model. What does it say about this game?
Because Vegas is saying you got a touchdown a field
(08:11):
goal difference between the two teams.
Speaker 5 (08:13):
Yeah, I'm a little bit less than that, Doug, but
the model does like Texas Tech by more than a touchdown.
Not quite ten or ten and a half, but seventy
four percent winnings sectancy for Texas Tech. Listen, this team
is incredibly talented on both sides of the ball, in
particular on defense. It's a top five unit on that side.
The offense, and yes, I know we've had quarterback unavailability
(08:34):
in recent weeks, but we expect them to be back
here number twelve on that side. The fact that's in
Lubviick makes the difference. One thing to note though, BYU
was off last week, so they do have the rest
advantage the scheduling dynamic coming into this game. They are undefeated,
they can afford a loss here. Doug, you talked about
no bigger picture in Big twelve. See a p implication.
(08:57):
I think if I'm a general Big twelve fan or
I want to see multiple teams from the Big twelve
in the Costawua playoffs, I'd actually be rooting for BYU
in this game. I think if you get BYU undefeated
to Arlington. Then whether it's Texas Tech or Utah, maybe
even Cincinnati, that's the opponent in that game. If that,
if they pull the upset and beat BYU and Arlington,
(09:17):
I think twelve and one BYU and your Big twelve
champion are both in the field.
Speaker 2 (09:23):
Stut Gottlief Joe Fox Sports trailer. That's the voice of
Kelly Fords. You got the k Ford Reddys Index. Huge
game of the Big Ten. Oregon travels to Iowa City.
Take on the hag As organist right now. I got
it at sixty six and a half. Forty one and
a half is the total. What's the model saying?
Speaker 5 (09:41):
Yeah, say the model likes Oregon. Here. Six and a
half is just about right. It's a sixty eight percent
win expectancy for the Ducks. Both teams were off last week,
so there is no rest advantage or disadvantage or or
going half way across the country to Iowa City. But
Oregon is an incredibly strong team from a power rating standpoint.
(10:01):
Their resume has been called into question as it should,
and their number nine in the CFP rankings. I actually
have them number ten in my most deserving rankings. When
we look at what have they accomplished this year relative
to expected given their schedule. But from a power rating standpoint,
this team is number three in the model, behind two
other Big Ten teams, Indiana and Ohio State. The defense
is number three, the offense is number seven. Iowa, as
(10:24):
always comes in with a great defense number six. The
big question mark is the offense, as it's always been.
It seems at Iowa they're better this year than they've
been in the past, but at number fifty five, that
is by far the outlier unit in this game, and
the Iowa defense for some turnovers and flow down that
duck offense to set up the Hawkeye offense in some
advantageous positions. That's going to be the big question. The
(10:47):
model like Oregon to win this one. You know, Oregan's
got to win these games down the stretch because they
haven't played really anybody of note yet. From a power
rating standpoint, Yes, Penn State way back in Week five,
the value of that win's gone down. They lose at
home to Indiana, they have an opportunity down the stretch
with its Iowa game Minnesota next week. USC we talked
about that one and then on the road at Washington
(11:08):
to close Oregon will have a chance to prove themselves
and it starts this week in Iowa City.
Speaker 2 (11:13):
Okay, let's go to the SEC Gigantic game. In the
sec AS Texas A and M Techson Missouri A and M.
Their schedule has been called a little bit into question, right,
But they beat Notre Dame at Notre Dame. That's what
separates them from others. Some people think they should be
the mournering team in the country. There are six and
(11:35):
a half point favorite at Missouri. Missouri is one of
those classic beat everybody they should, don't beat anybody they shouldn't.
Totals forty eight and a half. What's the model saying?
Speaker 1 (11:45):
Right?
Speaker 5 (11:45):
And we have the boat Pabula news as well from
Missouri at quarterback. But for the model, with both these
teams coming off and off week last week, Texas A
and M is a fifty seven percent win expectancy, so
right around where Vegas is. I think that line's about right.
A and M. For me, you said some have them
as the number one team in the country is the
most deserving I have them number two. And I am
going to bet that Mike Elko used the selection committee
(12:08):
or the selection chairman comment from earlier this week on
Tuesday Night to his team's advantage. Tonight, they talked about,
you know, there were three teams, but it was really
two that we were looking at for that number one spot,
Indiana and Ohio State. Texas A and M is thinking
we're an undefeated team from the SEC and we're not
getting any love for number one. I mean, that's absolutely
bulletin board material for a team that I think needs
(12:28):
it because you're going on the road in the SEC.
That's always difficult. But I expect A and M to
win this game. That there's a number three offense in
the country. I'm just not sure Missouri is going to
be able to slow them down. So I do like
Texas A and M, and I'm worried about that Missouri
offense with the quarterback position, are they going to be
able to score enough points to keep going in this game?
Missouri needs it, right, I mean, they already have two losses.
We saw last year Alabama, South Carolina, Ole Myths all
(12:51):
left out of the playoffs. Out of the SEC. With
three losses, this would be Missouri third. They still have
a couple of tough games to go. Missouri has to
have this one. Texas A and M's playing with a
chip on the shoulder. It's gonna be fantastic in Columbia
this weekend.
Speaker 2 (13:03):
All right, I'm gonna give you a bunch of choices here,
and you tell me what the model thinks is gonna
be the game to watch produce Like a twenty nine
and a half thirty point dog at Ohio State at
home against owahow State, Penn State two touchdown dog at
home to Indiana, Mississippi State nine and a half point
dog at home to the Dogs of Georgia, Syracuse taking Miami. Auburn,
(13:27):
fresh off of firing Hugh Freeze, takes on Vanderbilt on
the road. Cal takes on Louis on the road, Wake Forest,
wester Virginia in the road. Luke Fickle's gonna remain at
Wisconsin they get Washington coming to their place. Navy's like
a twenty seven and a half point dog at seven
to one, but they just lost to North Texas. Like
a four touchdown underdog at Notre Dame and LSU a
couple weeks after firing Brian Kelly ten and a half
(13:49):
point dog traveling to Tuscalooso, which is going there's always one.
There's always one. When you have this, you know, it's
just kind of a nothing weekend outside of those three
big games. What's the model say is going to be
the most competitive game, compelling game of those?
Speaker 5 (14:04):
Yeah, so put a watchability standpoint, which Doug, as we
talked about, that's my you know, scale of zero to ten.
How watchable is a game based on projected quality of
the projected competitiveness. Looking at that and also looking at
kind of my upset alert meter for this week, of
all those games you just mentioned, I'll go with Vanderbilt
and Auburn. Of course, Auburn in an interesting position you
(14:26):
said as you freeze, is the leads of his duties.
Vanderbilt of course, still in that college football playoff mix.
How many people thought we would be in the second
week of November and saying that, yes, they just lost
on the road at Austin last week, but they did
bounce back in that game and really showed some fight
down the stretch. The model likes Vanderbilt to win this
game with a sixty three percent win expectancy. But this
Auburn defense is legitimate and this is a top ten
(14:49):
matchup on either side of the ball there, the Auburn
defense against this Vanderbilt offense. So Vanderbilt at home, I
like them to have the advantage when their defense is
out in the field. So they are the favorite, and
they should be. But of all those games you just mentioned,
that's the one that has the highest upset probability, and
certainly a third loss for Vanderbilt would I believe knock
them out of that College ball playoff conversation. But again,
(15:12):
massive accomplishment to Clark Lee and obviously Diego Pavia, everybody
on that Vanderbilt team for being in this position. If
they get this one, they're off next week. They welcome
Kentucky to Nashville in week thirteen, then they go on
the road to Knoxville and what could be a win
and in game for Vanderbilt if they're able to get
through Auburn and Kentucky. So there's still a ton to
(15:33):
play for for the doors. You never know how a
team's going to react after their coach gets fired, but
I expect Auburn to ride this defense in this game
to make it really competitive.
Speaker 2 (15:42):
Last thing, Kelly, we haven't talked about the rankings. Which
ranking upsets you the most? Here? Like I disagree with
it the most.
Speaker 5 (15:50):
Yeah, so there's a couple that really, you know, get
me a little bit. Vanderbilt I think is significantly under ranked.
We just talked about that Vanderbilt team and the resume
they have. I also think Louisville has a slight gripe
right now, being behind Virginia. I know the head to head,
but when you look at the resumes in totality and
then similarly USF, that would be my G five representative
(16:11):
right now. I know Memphis beat USF head to head,
but what we're supposed to be doing as a committee
is evaluating the entire resume all you know, seven, eight, nine,
ten games, whatever teams have played at this point. That's
what we're supposed to be looking at, not any one matchup.
If you go to the other side, I think Notre
Dame is over ranked. I think the committee's giving them
too much credit at this point. Certainly, if the Fighting
Irish finished ten and two, they will be in the field,
(16:33):
and they will deserve to be. But as of right now,
at six and two, I would not have them in
the projected field based on the other resumes that are
out there.
Speaker 2 (16:40):
You're the best man Kelly Ford K four Ratings Index
is the site to go to. Of course, you can
fall mom on social media as well. He's got the
watchability rankings, the deserving rankings. You got to find out.
Find it all out. It will help you in all
facets of your football College football viewing Saturday. Kelly, you're
(17:01):
the best man. Thanks for joining us. We really appreciate it.
Speaker 5 (17:03):
Thank you, Doug, I appreciate it. Always have a good one.
Speaker 1 (17:05):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Doug Gottlieb
Show weekdays at three pm Eastern noon Pacific on Fox
Sports Radio in the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 2 (17:16):
Let's get the Fox Us and Now every day of
this time in the Bonus on Fox Sports Radioheart Radio app,
we play for your portion of previous Fox Sports Radio
Fox Sports One Show. Here's Colin Cowder talking about Bonnicks.
Speaker 6 (17:33):
PFF says, you have the best offensive line in football.
Speaker 4 (17:36):
It's the Raiders defense.
Speaker 6 (17:38):
You have two very capable running backs, good wide receiver
corp great. I don't know good. You gotta do better
than ten first downs right now. This team has ten
more punts this year than Cleveland. In my opinion, bon
Nicks looks nervous. That's why he's so bad in the
first half. It's like he's trying to plea Sean Payton
(18:01):
feels the weight of the world on his shoulders. He
is nervous, side arming stuff, feels rushed when he's not rushed,
skipping balls out of the backfield. But it shouldn't look
like that. He looks nervous. He looks like he's got
a lot of anxiety. Sean Payton didn't get dumb. He's
trying to protect him. He knows that bo Nicks is
(18:23):
not right upstairs. And because this Raider defense hasn't made
any quarterback look that bad this year. So the Broncos
have one touchdown in their last seventeen drives. They have
more three and outs than the Titans.
Speaker 2 (18:42):
Yeah, listen, I think there's a couple of things our show,
or at least in particular, I really like Sean Payton,
and you know, Colin having worked and had having Sean
Payton on every week, I believe they've established a relationship.
So when I hear him talk about Sean Payton stuff,
you know, again it's always going to be about the quarterback,
(19:04):
never about Sean when it's negative. When it's positive, it's
going to be about Sean and right, that's kind of
the way it or explaining. You're protecting your guy. But
the other part to it is the defense. You know,
the defense was better last year too. It's a club
built around defense. Collins Summation And we played this for
you in the radio show. Was you gotta think about
(19:27):
drafting quarterback because he's regressing Swait? So you're gonna give
up two years of investment in a quarterback when you're
paying him very little money? No, no, no, no. The story
of Bo Knicks and where they are now is really simple.
You have two years invested in them. You're able to
have the best record in the league despite the fact
your offense isn't great because you're built around your defense.
And the reason you can build such a great defense
(19:48):
is your quarterback doesn't make any money. So don't change that.
It's not get rid of Bo Knicks. It's work with
Bo Nicks. It's make it easier for both Knicks. It's
add more more quality pieces to make Bonnicks get better.
But you know what you don't do, don't do And
we said this is start the radio show, don't do
what the Dolphins did and re up a quarterback who
is only gonna let you down and then you can't
or do what the Giants did where it wasn't about
(20:10):
bringing back Danny Dimes. It was about bringing back Danny
Dimes at two years at forty million apiece. That's the lesson,
that's the adjustment to make. Here's Brady Quinnlevar Arrington talking
about they had this exchange with Pat Fitzgerald over the
news of his victory in a lawsuit against Northwestern.
Speaker 4 (20:29):
I've got the utmost respect. I'm excited to see where
he ends up because there's a lot of big jobs
and I'm not gonna say.
Speaker 7 (20:38):
I wouldn't hate it.
Speaker 4 (20:39):
I wouldn't, okay, because it is at the top of
my list for Pat Fitzgerald making that thing a contender.
Speaker 7 (20:45):
He fits, He fits the mold of what we are like.
He's definitely LB like like every sense of the word.
The mentality is the way he approaches things. I mean,
that's he's like the he's like the the rich Man.
He's the Nike version of Matt Rule. Matt Rule was
more like the Pro Kids, Pro Wings, you know, because
(21:07):
he's an overachiever and played linebacker, but just wasn't you know,
he wasn't like a starter type, whereas Pat Fitzgerald is
like the picture. You know, you look at what a
big ten linebacker looks like, what a college linebacker looks like.
There's a few guys that you'd have a picture of him,
and Pat Fitzgerald's one of them, one of those guys.
So and I know him personally, he is like when
(21:29):
I heard that news pop off, like I was, I
was so disappointed to hear about it and felt for him,
like deeply because to know that man is like, he's
every bit of phenomenal persons as you would would have
seen him as a coach.
Speaker 2 (21:47):
Just for the record, okay, just for the record, when
the accusations came down at Northwestern, I don't know anybody
else who stood up for Pat Fitzgerald. And again I
don't know if LeVar was broadcasting at the time. I
don't think he was. But yeah, the people I know
at Northwestern were like, this stuff reads really bad, but
I've never heard anybody say a bad word about Pat Fitzgerald.
(22:10):
And they were stunned by it. And again, this was
during a time of me too. And while this wasn't
sexual harassment, it was more in the the hazing sort
of variety. But yeah, he's a stud. Now again, here's
the challenge, Okay, whoever hires him, understand that the Northwestern
(22:37):
teams were solid. You know, they were about kind of
the right things. But it was a little bit a
different era in college football. They were not flashy, they
were solid, they were defensive based, they were conservative offensively.
But here's the big thing. If you're going to hire
Pat Fitzgerald, and I would love Oklahoma State hires him,
complete and total, full support, it would be brilliant. But
(22:58):
he's got to bring in a staff that he's worked
with before, so he got to get his band back together.
But he's got to get his band back together with
guys that are coaching in college football so that can
bring their players with them. That's that's the way it works.
Gotta have an ability to get players right away that
fit how you want to play, that can fit your culture,
(23:21):
and get that thing started and get the process of
rebuilding one of these programs under way. Last one, here's
Dick right talking about Draymond Green calling Dak Prescott a
bum on his podcast.
Speaker 8 (23:35):
For those counting at home, that's nine bombs in a
thirty two second sound bite which begs the question to
my buddy Dray Monger, has it turned out that when
you're not podcasting about an NBA finals that you're playing in,
but the light turns on and the takes are demanded,
(23:57):
that you know what that low hanging proved? Like, Hey,
Cowwood's quarterback stinks? You know why you don't have to clutched?
You have you become what you hate? My friend, should
we maybe dial back the episode?
Speaker 2 (24:12):
Load listen?
Speaker 8 (24:13):
We're all we're all kind of, you know, drinking from
the same poisonous tree. We all have the content. God's
demand more and more. But it's sure that sure does
feel like the type of commentary that if you watched
on television and older journalists give, you would say that's
the problem with the media.
Speaker 2 (24:36):
Yeah, I mean, I just think it's that I haven't
heard the podcast and I don't care. It's it's hard
enough to maintain an eye on the pulse of all
sports when you're coaching college basketball. We played thirty two nights,
thirty three nights essentially in a year. I can't imagine
doing it when it's when it's eighty two nights of
(24:57):
an NBA season and oh yeah, by the way, like
you have a whole other life with a family, and
I don't have another life, Like I don't I have.
My life is sports. You know. I try to invest
as much time as I can with my kids, but
they don't live with me. And I've also been doing
it for twenty five years, so I have a base
of history knowledge. I'll tell you this. I got a call.
(25:18):
Here's one of the secrets to when guys are going
to be shitty at broadcasting anything other than their sport,
or anything other than the level of the sport that
they played at. If you do it for a couple
of years, you can maybe get it back and you
can pay attention to some other stuff. If you played
NBA basketball for ten years, you can't even do college basketball.
You can do because you can't pay attention to it.
(25:40):
You don't know. And again, the strong like good he
played he played all four years at Michigan State. A
lot of these guys only played a year or two
in college. They don't know on the coaches, they don't
know the players. Everything's changed dramatically. That happened to Shane Battier,
who's a good guy, A smart guy, and somebody at
ESPN's like, hey, let's hire Shane Batier. He's smart, he's good.
Then they put him on like the Louisville game, his
first game, and it was fucking brutal, brutal. It's the
(26:03):
same thing and listening to Draymond Green talk about the
NFL when like the NFL, you can pay attention to
beca is on the weekends, you know, but you know
he didn't know what fuck he's talking about because he's
been playing in the NBA for fifteen years. You're playing
so much you don't know. Like, actually, right now, the
last person you should be critical of Dak Prescott is Yeah,
he had a bad game couple weeks ago, but for
the most part, he's been he's been the best part
(26:25):
of the Cowboys this year. That's what the Fox said.
What does the food say, Let's find out who or
what is annoying Jason Stewart.
Speaker 1 (26:35):
And now it's your annoying.
Speaker 3 (26:43):
Uh, the story of the week, as far as I'm concerned,
the story of the week. And then I'm kind of
annoyed by one thing here.
Speaker 7 (26:49):
So.
Speaker 2 (26:51):
Okay, I know this story.
Speaker 3 (26:54):
Yeah, he's an offensive lineman or was one he went
to USC. He's a massive man in more ways and
one his soon to be or former wife, Hailey, went
on a podcast to share that the biggest factor quote
unquote in the divorce was his penis size, and then
(27:16):
had this rambling explanation about it, like.
Speaker 2 (27:22):
Yeah, yeah, no, I know what you're saying.
Speaker 1 (27:27):
Shut the fun up, dead ass, dead ass.
Speaker 4 (27:32):
I was gonna try it off.
Speaker 7 (27:34):
Yeah, therapist, your fucking live line looked up like light
boat and ship.
Speaker 2 (27:41):
You know what I mean.
Speaker 9 (27:47):
It's like kind of funny.
Speaker 10 (27:48):
It's like my life is a comedy.
Speaker 11 (27:49):
And it writes itself.
Speaker 12 (27:51):
But like okay, He's like, okay, I don't want to
like was this like was that the that was the biggest.
Speaker 9 (27:57):
The biggest factor, Yes, oh.
Speaker 2 (27:59):
My god, but no, ches no shot.
Speaker 4 (28:03):
No, because he was like.
Speaker 9 (28:05):
Like like he's like, oh yeah, of course, of course
impossible unless you know you're going to be in tears.
Speaker 3 (28:18):
So I guess when you file a divorce paper. She
said that the reason is that his hog was was
too painful and they got divorced. And she says that it's, uh,
it was like two coke cans on top of each other,
and then she's just threw in maybe three too painful
to get through it. She divorced him, and then there
(28:40):
was the social media reaction to this, and she and
this is where the annoying part comes in. She is
she's actually apologized. I hope people don't think that the
summation of my marriage with Matt come down came down
to this one thing. It was he's a great guy.
Please don't judge this. And I'm like, the annoying part
(29:01):
is like, if I'm Matt Khalil, I never want this
rumor to ever go away. I never want this to
be corrected. I never wanted no doubt qualified. This is
the one thing that you like around. You want everyone
to know.
Speaker 2 (29:14):
She's just became the greatest ex wife in the history
of ex wives, right because all she did was tell
every woman who runs into Matt Khalil that he's a
he's a he's a circus act. What's the Great White Home? Yes?
Whoa doctor? Yes? Well, Nelly whoe doctor. When I was
(29:36):
at Notre Dame the Starting Center, you guys have to
look up the Starting Center in nineteen ninety five, his
nickname was Hope and I was like, why do they
call him Hope? Because he's the Great White Hope. It's like,
why is he the Great White Hope. They're like, use
your imagination. So yeah, I mean she just there's nothing
(29:56):
to apologize for. She's hooked Matt up for the rest
of his life. It's a good he's ad. I mean,
think about that guy. Yeah, yes, I am Matt Khalil.
Everybody's gonna be wanting to be Matt Khalil at Halloween
next year. Why wouldn't you that if that podcast had
come out before Halloween? How many Coke Can costumes would
(30:20):
there be with Matt Khalil, either USC or Carolina Panther jerseys.
I would say a lot. I would say a lot.
Speaker 3 (30:28):
It's like if he's if he's dating or on the
apps or whatever. And I know a common thing is
like have you googled me? Like this is the top story?
Like you want you encourage women to google me?
Speaker 7 (30:40):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (30:41):
Google me? Yeah, you'd be like Kirk Signetti google me.
Speaker 4 (30:44):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (30:44):
So let's see here. This is a Graham Gano. I
don't know his penis size, but he he is hurt
for the giants, he's the kicker. But he said something
pretty sobering this week, you know, kind of in the
wake of the Cowboys player committing suicide and mental health
(31:05):
and how fans are treating players. It's kind of in
that vein, he explains the treatment he personally receives from
sports betters.
Speaker 13 (31:14):
I hear everyone else's frustration, media fans. I mean, shoot,
ever since sports betting started to happening, I get people
telling me to kill myself every week, you know, because
I'll hit a kick that loses them money. I'll miss
a kick and lose them money. It was the other day, Sho,
I told me get cancer and die. That stuff's part
of it. But just being like playing this long, that's
stuff you're used to by now. But with that being said,
like I see everyone's frustration, and I'm frustrated too. Just
(31:38):
want to play ball, and I think that just constantly
not being able to is tough. But doing everything I
can to try and come back and play, and that's
my hope.
Speaker 3 (31:47):
So yeah, nobody erse would be threatened or anything. So
if you're doing the math on legalized gambling, this is
what we're looking at. The relationship between betters or the
public and athletes are worse than ever and they're emboldened
to reach out to them on social media and tell
them to kill themselves. The actual players like Terry Rozier,
(32:09):
who's made one hundred million dollars in their career, are
doing prop bet rigging. And I'm guessing a result of
the bubblic of gambling being made legal has caused exponentially
more degenerate people that lose their lives and marriages and homes.
(32:30):
So that's where we're at with legalized gambling.
Speaker 2 (32:34):
Yeah, and then you add in basically the professionalization of
collegiate sports, which makes it makes people even more emotional,
even more likely to bet on them than when they're
collegian sports. And yeah, now's now it's become what was
a bit of a cesspool is now it's basically that
(32:54):
pipe that Andy Dufrayne crawled out of in Shashank Redemption.
You have nailed it.
Speaker 3 (33:00):
Alex Rodriguez is doing a media tour. I don't know
if it's because he's one of the owners of the
Tea Wolves. I don't know if it's because Hall of
Fame voting for baseball. As soon I thought he was
officially off the list, but I guess there's a way
to backdoor the Hall of Fame nowadays, and he's openly
asking being asked questions on the Today Show. This is
(33:21):
over the air. NBC Today Show used to be a
massive platform Alex Rodriguez making a sales pitch for him
and the other Reuters to be in the Hall of Fame.
Speaker 4 (33:32):
Yes, you know, don't catch it.
Speaker 2 (33:34):
Do you deserve to be in the Hall of Fame?
Speaker 6 (33:36):
Of course?
Speaker 4 (33:36):
Of course.
Speaker 10 (33:37):
I mean Barry Roger. I think is laughable that Roger
Clemens the greatest pitcher of all time and Barry Bonds
head his shoulders above everybody. They all deserve to be
include shoheal Tana, you name it. Barry Bonds is by
farther go. He's our Michael Jordan. Of course he deserve
to be there. Now, if you want to put an
ash Trik or something like that, of course, but you
know that's not my decision to make. I would certainly
vote for those guys. I don't have a vote myself.
(33:59):
Ken Siko uh, I think you gotta go line by
line and laguire. I mean, look, I'm not I'm not
the voter. But yeah, it's hard. It's the part, it's
a hard part of history to just take a few
guys out and put a few guys in.
Speaker 2 (34:16):
No, it's not no, it's not no, it's not let
me let me just help you here. Go fuck yourself, Alex,
go fuck yourself, okay. And and Craig, I understand. Craig
Melvin is a good, really really good dude, right, so
he is elevated from sports guy I think in DC
to Today's Show. Hey, how about the follow up of
(34:37):
you you tested positive twice? Like tested positive twice? You
tested positive twice? Or the follow up of what does
it say to all the players who were clean that
you tested positive twice? Barry Bonds is not the greatest
(34:58):
of all time? Fuck that? Okay, he fucking cheated sports.
You don't all of a sudden, in your late thirties
become the most prodigious home run hitter we've ever fucking
seen after not hitting fifty when you're in your prime.
We're not fucking stupid. Stop treating us like we're stupid.
And the problem with the Today Show and the falloff
of the Today's Show is it was always just so
(35:19):
much fluff, always just so much bullshit that now it's
completely nobody pays attention to it except for mainstream housewives
that sit at home and then again like you pollute
people's minds and it becomes a propaganda piece and it's
what he used it for. Fuck that, Craig Melvin asking
the fucking question. Hey, dude, Alex, you tested positive twice.
(35:39):
Should that differentiate you from people who never tested positive?
Never tested positive? And by the way, you're asking about
jose Canseako, he's not a fucking Hall of Famer. Craig,
come up with a fucking better, goddamn question, jose Canseco.
Now if you want to say Sammy Sosa again like
jose canseakoh, a complete complete creation of of of drug deuce. Yeah, sure, fine,
(36:07):
you know, but fuck no, go fuck yourself, Alex. You're
not getting the fucking Hall of Fame. Fuck you move on.
And yes, I do know there are other people in
the Hall of Fame, but you didn't even make a
compelling case. You want to make a compelling case. Come clean. Yes,
I used steroids. I felt like at that at that time,
everybody at the top of the sport using it. I
may have been wrong, and I did so, and I
(36:27):
did so for my desire to compete. Or you could
go with the bullshit line you did when you were
in New York. You guys, you remember the bullshit line
Jase Do where he was like, yeah, I did to
live up to my contract? Or how about being good
enough to live up to your contract? How about that? Sorry?
Alxrodriguez frustrates this shit out of me. Yeah, yeah, Alxrodriguez. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (36:52):
Why are we doing this?
Speaker 4 (36:57):
Because we can? All right?
Speaker 3 (37:00):
So this is why we created this segment. I think
Will Clark is a reason why we do this. Will
the thrill. William Knuschwoer Clark had the sweetest swing of
anyone I've ever seen him baseball. I emulated my left
hand swing after him. Even though he was a giant.
I loved watching him hit. And he's been great post
(37:20):
playing career. And I want, because there's no visual on this,
I want the listener to know that he is saying
all of this with a huge, fat dip in his lip.
He's just old school ballplayer from the South. This is
Will Clark on pitching or giving a breaking ball to
Miguel Rojas in the ninth inning of a World Series
(37:42):
Game Game seven.
Speaker 12 (37:44):
The fuck can you throw a nine hole hitter that
hasn't had a fucking hit in a month. How can
you throw him a fucking breaking ball when you're blowing
fucking fastball buying.
Speaker 11 (37:56):
He's hitting shit up over the dugout?
Speaker 5 (37:59):
What the fuck are you thinking?
Speaker 11 (38:02):
Blow I fucking fastball, trust your fastball and blow it
by a fucking nine hole hitter. And then, if you
want to picture an old Tommy fucking do whatever you
want to do, But dude, to throw a fucking hanging
slider into his bat speed. Oh my fucking god, I.
Speaker 12 (38:21):
Would have been I would have been living, somebody would
have been wearing some ass in that.
Speaker 2 (38:26):
Fucking dugout so good. Why can we play it for you?
Because we can? Yeah, it's the it's the old. Uh,
it's still really really obvious. Uh. You gonna You're gonna
ride or die right or die with your best pitch?
All right right? Or down to your best pitch. Why
could we play it for you? Because we can. That's
it for the end of the Bonus Podcast. You get
the radio show every day three to five. You can
(38:47):
talk to Pacific Fox Sports Radio. iHeart Radio app. I'm
Doug Golly
