(00:22):
of the Doug gottli Show on Fox Sports Radio. What's up,
Jonas Hi Bo? Yeah, I didn't make you wait for it.
It is the Doug Gottlieb Show on a Friday. I
was really really excited about today for a lot of reasons.
Shown us. We got a week seventeen in the NFL,

(00:44):
we have the college football Playoff going heck, we've got
five bowl games going on right now, and as we
hang out for the next three hours, there will be
bowl action in front of us. But my day was
a bit ruined when I picked Temple plus four and
a half. They're only down thirty five. That's hey, that's
the first five. It can turn around. But it just
hasn't gotten my day off to that sort of great start.

(01:04):
You see, here's how you know, Dan is a novice
when it comes to gambling. You've got four and a
half points, they're down by thirty five. I mean they
got them right where they wanted. Then for a backdoor cover,
a couple of two point conversions, uh, four or five
on side kicks uh, and then a fluke hail Mary,
and you got. Here's what stinks, Jonas is even when

(01:25):
they score their four touchdowns in a row, they're still
gonna have to go for another touchdown, like I didn't
even add and they can't even close the four and
a half. So we'll have to We'll watch this game.
I'll let you know if the tar Heels blow this
thirty five point lead in the next thirteen minutes. Mentioned
five bowl games today, but it's really the NFL that
we focus on, because there was a headline that I

(01:46):
did not think I would see not only for the
rest of twenty nineteen in the National Football League, Jonas,
but maybe forever in the National Football League, and that's
Antonio Brown works out with blank. And that was very
surprising to me. What was I don't know, I don't
want to say more surprising was the blank was filled

(02:08):
in by the New Orleans Saints. Uh yeah, listen. That's uh,
it feels like a move initially. Now I know you
have a thought on this that's sort of not a
conspiracy theory, but sort of showcasing a diversionary attack by
the New Orleans Saints. I saw it, and my immediate
reaction was, oh, so Michael Thomas is a little bit
more banged up than we realize. Then they're bringing in

(02:29):
several guys because whether he's even going to be allowed
to play, I mean, he's gonna be put on the
exemp list. I don't think he's going to be eligible
to play or be available to play. So it is
a little bit curious why they would bring in Antonio Brown.
He's an immense talent, and he's an incredible talent, but
you know, when he's not you know, frying his feet
off in a cryo chamber, he's tweeting out normal, no

(02:50):
more white women, So you're not really sure which guy
you're gonna get At wide received well, that was and
I think there's some validity to what you are saying,
even though Michael tom As has been able to practice.
It's the simple fact of not only was Antonio Brown
brought in, but there were other wide receivers. Five other
wide receivers as well brought in for workouts, and that

(03:13):
to me would say something that, hey, maybe the Saints
do look for a few more pass catchers. Maybe they
aren't necessarily satisfied with what they have. Maybe they are
concerned about the health that they have going into the postseason,
which may have them play three games depending on what
happens throughout the week seventeen schedules. I think I think
to your point that there's some validity to this. What

(03:36):
I find surprising, Jonas is if it was Michael Thomas's
hand that was an issue I get working out the
five other wide receivers. My question is why are you
even working out Antonio Brown that the of that specific
player now I have thought and discussed previously is where

(04:00):
would Antonio If Antonio Brown were to go anywhere? The
options are extremely limited because he needs he would need
to play with a quarterback that he cannot disrespect, and
so there are very few options in the National Football League.
New England was one of them. I think Seattle would
be an option as well. With Russell Wilson green Bay.

(04:23):
I don't know if you'd want to go to Green Bay,
but I think that could be a possibility. And the
other is the team that he worked out with today
with Drew Brees. So if the limited options that he
has for teams that would want to bring him in,
I do think that the Saints would be a possibility
because of Drew Brees is president. And it's also got
to be a locker room that can handle the distraction,
that can handle some of the questions that are going

(04:43):
to be coming their way if it's a more fragile
locker room, like I don't anticipate Antonio Brown ever signing
with the Browns. I'm just gonna say, you know, I'm
gonna say that's probably not the place Antonio Brown signs with.
So if it were a fragile locker room, I don't
think it happens. But New Orleans has got mainstays at
head coach and at quarterback. Um there's usually never any issues,

(05:05):
unless you know, maybe they pay some guys to hurt
players from like ten twelve years ago. But um, yeah,
New Orleans would be the team that makes the most sense,
although I don't know that it still makes sense, Like
I don't know if he's not going to be available,
I mean, what's is this a move for next year?
I mean, what's what's what's the point of the move?
That's what I was curious as well. And Sean Payton,

(05:29):
We're going to hear from the scenes head coach in
a little while. But Sean Payton, according to reports, said
that they wanted to clarify or wanted to get information
from the NFL on Antonio Brown's status for the postseason.
And to me, that's surprising because wouldn't that be something

(05:50):
you would do before you bring a guy in for
the workout, instead of instead of going through the motions
of of just why not? Why not do it not
before you even have him come in for a workout
and find out if you would even be able to
play for you call ahead and ask if the restaurants
open before the Absolutely, yeah, you'd want to do this,

(06:10):
so let's just hey, let's wing it. Maybe they are open.
Here's Sean Payton just a few minutes ago. No, not Now.
We had six guys in today, really six receivers that
we worked out a few of them are practice squad eligible,
a few of them are veteran players who worked him out,
gave him physicals, mainly doing our due diligence on on
all of those players. Obviously there's a little bit more
attention drawn to him because of his career. Right now

(06:32):
is more or less us having a chance to get
to know these guys and seeing what kind of shape
their all in. So yeah, let's let's get to know
these guys before we are about to play and maybe
the final season of the biggest player we've ever had
in franchise history. He could write often to the sunset,
let's before we start this playoff run to try to
to to try to exercise the demons of the last

(06:53):
two playoff runs. Let's just bring in some new guys.
I'll just let's get a feel for all of this,
all right, So the floor shore, Stan Buyer, what what?
What do you believe is going on? Here? This? This
is what I think is happening. And it's a great
great sleight of hand trick by the New Orleans Saints.
And it's a great great hand of three card Monty.
When the Saints enter the playoffs, they want you to

(07:16):
be looking over here at all this Antonio Brown stuff,
because over here on the other side is the Minneapolis miracle.
It's the pass interference. It could be the last hurrah
for Drew Brees. So while all of these questions and
and issues could be popping up over the next three
weeks as this team tries to battle the adversity of

(07:37):
those catastrophic losses, of the possibility of this being the
last chance for Drew Brees, why not bringing Antonio Brown
and of everybody asked about that something that really isn't realistic,
But it keeps your focus off of the things that
seem to be hanging over this franchise for the last
two or three years. It reminds me of in Super

(07:58):
Bowl forty when Ben Roethlisberger was is in his second
year with the Pittsburgh Steelers and Joey Porter got into
a back and forth with Jeremy Stevens of the Seas
went back and forth, back and forth. That's all anybody
that we cared about. Then it talked to Ben Roethlisberger,
who was going to be making a Super Bowl start

(08:18):
in his second year in the National Football League. Ben's
walking around the tables where the Steelers are having their
availabilities with a video camera and it's ha ha ha,
But everybody wanted to talk to Joey Porter. It took
the pressure off of Ben Roethlisberger. This sort of headline
heading into the playoffs, heading into the postseason, which, by
the way, we could stay with this team throughout these

(08:40):
couple of weeks, in my mind, is a great way
to divert the attention from what happened in Minnesota two
years ago, from what happened against the Rams last year,
for what could happen with the Drew Brees career. Make
you focus on Antonio Brown. I'm not saying it's not true,
because I actually do like in theory what you're saying.
If it is true, and this is really a slide

(09:01):
of hand by the New Orleans Saints, I one percent
blame Sean Payton, the organization, and the city of New
Orleans for having to go this direction with Antonio Brown
at this point in the season, because they made what
happened last year a a national pity party for the
New Orleans Saints franchise. They had Marty Gras, when people

(09:22):
dressed up as as officials with blindfolds on. You had
Sean Payton show up with a Roger Goodell clown shirt.
It was one of the worst handlings of a loss
that I've seen in sports. In a long, long time,
and all they wanted to do was complain about the officiating,
not to mention the fact they had the ball first
and overtime, not to mention the fact they had multiple

(09:44):
opportunities on a Todd Gurley turnover early in that game
to really put a damper on the on the rams
in the Superdome, and instead they settled for field goals.
They had the ball first and overtime and Drew Brees
through a a tipped interception and they lost on what
a six the yard field goal? Fifty nine yard field goal.
It's not like it was a chip shot, and they
were set up near the goal line. They had their

(10:06):
opportunities and they lost. If this is true, and they've
got all these months later to go and sign Antonio
Brown to get the conversation away from all that there
responsible for, it may be a trick. And I think
that I wouldn't put a pass on Peyton or Mickey
Loomis or anybody in that Saints organization to try to
think of any competitive edge that they could have, or

(10:28):
of anything that may be worrying them. I mean, heck,
and look at the regular season games that went on
during these matchups of what what happened when any call
went against the Saints at home this season? Again, there
it is again. Now you would have all of your
focus on this for the next three weeks and what happened.

(10:49):
And by the way, kudos to them for being able
to persevere and get back, because there is the hangover
that you have after a great success and maybe having
a heartbreak from the season and prior. It is a
thing in the national football It doesn't have been to
every team, but it's there. So for the Saints, who actually,
you know, have the wherewithal to think like, okay, this

(11:10):
could be an issue. I actually almost kind of tipped
the cap to them, But you're right, and they put it.
They put this on themselves completely. We forget that the
two title games last year, we're both overtime games and
the Saints won the toss in theirs, and so do
the Patriots. Patriots scored rams made the defensive plane stop.
Do you know that Sean Payton actually called the city

(11:32):
and tried to get them to repaint their taxis around
the city because he didn't like that the cars were
the same color as the flags that were thrown in
certain during NFL games. I made that up. That's a
complete lie. But could you imagine if he did that
though want to lose there he actually did that also,
I think um and and I do. I do believe

(11:53):
there there is something to what you're saying. I also
think this, of all the coaches in the NFL, he's
not right at the top of the list. He's at
least in the mount rushmore of coaches with the biggest egos.
I mean, and it is outward. I mean. He got
into it with with the guy at the at the
grocery store a couple of weeks ago and and started

(12:15):
criticizing the guy about how the meat looked behind the
counter because the guy asked him why he made a
certain play call in a game like he's an ego guy.
Be sure to catch the live edition of The Doug
Gottlieb Show weekdays at three pm Easter noon Pacific on
Fox Sports Radio and the I Heart Radio app. We
have a lot of Falcons jonas made a decision about

(12:35):
their future today GM Thomas Dimitrof back in, head coach
Dan Quinn back in. Yeah, I like it. You know what,
in this day and age where everybody wants to fire everybody.
And I'm not calling people out here on the air,
Rob Parker, I'm not saying anybody is is one of
those people that wants to fire every coach in the
NFL when they have a subpar season. I actually like

(12:58):
what the Falcons are doing. Yes, they dealt with a
lot of injuries. Um, they played poorly at times during
the start of the season, while I'm at times haven't
won one and seven and I guess that would include
at times and uh, and they looked bad. But you
know what, that team never gave up on him. They
continued to play hard and what are they? Five and
two in their last seven, including a big win on

(13:19):
the road in San Francisco that I was actually listening
to you and E from salam breakdown on the air
while I was driving in. UM. I like what they did, man,
it's a it's a different approach. They're showing loyalty. They're
showing commitment to a coach that a team has already
showed commitment to. I like the move. What I find
amazing about this Falcons move was that it even became

(13:43):
possible in the first place. We just laughed at John
Ramos for hitting like eight buttons at the same time
or hitting the wrong button. What the Falcons did was basically,
if this was the Atlanta Falcons, all right, John Ramos,
you're gonna host today, Dan, you're gonna run the board, Jonas,
you're gonna news. Gavin, you're on updates, and then alously

(14:03):
be like, man, this show is great because that's all
they did with their coaching staff. They just rearranged it.
They put a piece here there weren't that in clean House,
to just put guys in different positions, and all of
a sudden it turned around and and that to me
is crazy. And I don't know if it worked or
I don't know if it's because the season was over
it just ended up working for them. But I will
say this, I do think it's good to extend the

(14:26):
contract of Thomas de Mittroff, because I think he's the
one that should have to deal with them paying Matt Ryan,
then paying Julio Jones, then paying Davante Freeman, like all
of the decisions that they made in the money and
the contracts that they handed out all right, now, you
have got to figure out a way to make this
all new again. It may not have been fair for

(14:46):
a new GM to have to come in there and
turn things around. I mean, this team is still it
could lose to the Buccaneers and be six and ten
this season, and and and and that to me is
but hey, make him deal with it. And look, they've
dealt with bad injuries last year. Would was rare because
if you go back to the year before, in the
year before that, they were one of the healthiest teams
in the NFL. I just think this is lesson be

(15:07):
learned if you if you've got a job as a
head coach in the NFL, or if you've got the
ability to change something in the moment, you know, don't
fall so in love with what your initial thought was.
Make adjustments if there need to be adjustments. And that's
exactly what Dan Quinn did. He probably looked at it,
Dan and said, you know what, I mean, what do

(15:27):
I got to lose? Like, why not? Why not? Go on?
I think it's the same thing John Harba did a
year ago. I think John Harbaugh because there were reports
John Harbaugh was going to be fired or let go
after the season alongside Ozzy Newsome and Joe Flacco, and
they were going to completely redo what was happening there
in Baltimore, and John Harbo just said, all right, screw it.
If we're gonna go with the younger quarterback, I'm just

(15:49):
gonna surround him if we got to run a college
style offense. So let's just what do I got to
lose at this point. And it worked, So I'm happy
that it worked for dan Quinn. It's also the only
way to to be able to really like you used
to think that coaches were playing the veteran to save
their job, Hugh Jackson going with Tyrolne Taylor Trod Taylor,
however you want to pronounce it these days, if you

(16:09):
go with Torod Taylor over Baker Mayfield when needs to
your first overall pick, since the message of yeah, I'm
trying to save my job that may have been the
message from John Harbon, then you realize, well, la Mar
Jackson could be the future. I might also attach myself
to that, which is exactly you know, like what you're saying,
that's what coaches these days actually need to do. You
kind of have to almost attach yourself to the young
guy instead of the veteran that you think could keep

(16:31):
you afloat for for a few more games. Because if
the young guy has any success, then you're a part
of that and you aren't in a situation where maybe
the front office or the owner would want to make changes.
Yeah and uh and I know so Dan Quinn did
speak earlier today about his status, you know, with Arthur,
I said, Number one, the reason I am so fired
up is because this has been the hardest and most

(16:53):
invaluable year for me as a coach ever. I've made
mistakes and we get to fix them, and I think
that's an important thing and use these lessons here and
not everybody else, you know, always has the chance to
do that. So, um, I certainly hate the results with man,
I learned a lot. Can I throw something at you
you being a Seahawks fan, I just want to ask
you this. So, the only other time that I've seen

(17:13):
loyalty like this shown to a head coach after a
couple of bad seasons was in Jacksonville with Gus Bradley.
Both of those guys are Pete Carroll assistants. Did something
about working with Pete Carroll make those guys realize, Hey,
if you bring in an energy a positivity into the

(17:34):
locker room, players aren't going to just give up on you,
and I wonder if some of that translated over to that.
I think it could be very fair. I think there
are two separate situations because also if you look at
dan Quinn, I mean honestly for taking the team to
the Super Bowl, and I know Kyle Shannon was on
the step went the head coach, what happened to the
like there there almost should be a leeway like you've

(17:56):
got all right, you have three Like if they would
have gone to and fourteen, then you can say okay.
But to have the Super Bowl appearance, appearance somewhat recently,
to be that close and then to to say what
you said, I think that there is something too that. Yeah,
Gus Bradley, energy guy. I mean they didn't do anything
like there wasn't even a glimmer of hope in Jacksonville,

(18:18):
and he was able to stick around a lot longer
than certain NFL coaches. I will also say this with
dan Quinn, just off the top of your head, do
you have any idea like what his winning percentages for
like this is his fifth season. I would, and I
don't mean to put you on the spot in yeah,
it's uh, it's five thirty two he's forty two and

(18:38):
thirty seven. So it's winning eight and eight, eleven and five,
ten and six, seven and nine and now the six
and nine season. Well, in fairness, I mean, you know,
it probably should be in the sixties. It's true, that's true.
I'll tell you what's not in the sixties. My favorite
stat about Dan Quinn has not won a challenge since

(18:59):
there is all right, and guess what the first time
he does, they're gonna jump up for joy, like Ben
Simmons hitt in the three for the first time they
were they were they were six. He got six challenges
correct or overturned if you will, in their Super Bowl season.
So he challenged. He had eight challenge legs, they won

(19:20):
six of them. The last two seasons. He's a combined
Owen six n challenges. How are you that bad? Yeah,
so Gavin, said Chris Davis of the Orioles. What was
he what did he start off with? What was his
I can't remember. I wanted to look it up right now,
but I thought it was something like it was so bad.
At one point he actually walked up there with a

(19:41):
tennis racket that had no netting inside of it and said, well,
maybe this will give me a Here's the thing with
David Still, He's the guy who could hit a whole
hundred home runs in a season. You know, one of
the candidates in the next decade who could hit four
straight at bats without a dad. I mean it sounds
like me at the bar. I wouldn't you know? If
I was Dan Quinn, I would challenge plays just to

(20:01):
get them wrong. Maybe going be sure to catch the
live edition of The Doug Gottlieb Show weekdays at three
p m. Easter noon Pacific. We will find out likely
on Monday, what NFL head coaches will be able to
coach in season. The Saints don't know if Antonio Brown
would be eligible for the playoffs. We don't know what

(20:22):
coaches are going to be sitting around for next season.
So Gavin Kinzill, who is a very very hard working guy,
was working already earlier this morning with Rob Parker and
Jason McIntire on The Dan Patrick Show, has formulated a
list of head coaches or teams that could be searching
for head coaches come Black Monday or is it Cyber Monday?

(20:44):
What are we are? We? Uh? I'm not sure what Monday?
God got his colors wrong. Oh, this is great, this
is great, this is this is what happens with John
Romis is on the board, good song man, Joe Sknocks
and myself. We'll start making predictions on the scenarios that
Gavin provides. Okay, guys, somebod makes feeling to do blow ALR.

(21:08):
I thought I thought my mic was off. Let's start
with the NFC East guys, play the hits. We'll start
with the Cowboys coach Jason Garrett. Will he be back
next year? Uh? No, not gonna happen. Done the list, Yeah,
I will say no, But I would encourage everybody to

(21:29):
stick around later in the show because Dan Buyer has
an opinion on the Jason Garrett Cowboys situation that very
few have in this count. Yes, I also think Mrs
Garrett has a better chance to coach the college than
Jason Garrett does. From facts of life. What do we

(21:49):
think about the Giants head coach Pat Schermer. What team
that is the you mean the jem Ah he's done, Yeah,
he's gone. Yeah. When the owners talking about a complete
overhaul of the franchise, they're not like, let's change everything.

(22:10):
Butter head coach that won three games. Yeah, he's he's done,
and unfortunately he finds himself in the This is my
second time as a head coach, and it didn't work
out this time either, which means he's probably not going
to get a gig moving forward. And I told Jonas
this yesterday when I did not realize I was watching
old Rose bowls on YouTube. Pat Shermer starting center of

(22:31):
the Michigan State Rose Bowl team in the late eighties.
Are you sure we're talking about the same past that
we are? Yes, all use. I mean if that guy
was a center, good God, I tell me about it.
I was just as surprised as you. Let's go over here.
They can beef up Manderage, they can beef Upe's beef
up this list right now to the a f C.

(22:53):
The Jets head coach Adam Gaze. I's not going anywhere,
and he shouldn't. I love him, I love him, I
love I hope it's true that he flaunted his money
in people's faces, and I hope Jet fans boo him.
I love Adam Gaze. He's not going anyone. Know what
I say to that, You know it's coming. Yeah, yeah,

(23:14):
Usually when I don't have anything to say, I just
make up a pund to cover it up. Well, it
wasn't exactly insanity in Los Angeles. What do we think
of the Chargers and Anthony Lynn? You should win a
Tony for his work with the Chargers. Um, I actually
think he's in trouble. He's done. Yeah, actually I think.
But it's not because of It's not because of what

(23:37):
he did. It's because I think the team and the
franchise is going to start to go in a different direction.
I mean, I know, you've got a couple of pieces
young guys on defense, maybe that's where you start to focus.
But the Philip Rivers era is over focused building on
defense with Derwin James and Joey Bosa. I think the
franchise view changes with it. It's actually the complete reverse

(23:59):
of where they were with Mike McCoy a few years ago.
I felt Mike McCoy got an extra year with the
Chargers because they he presented stability in a time when
they were probably going to move from San Diego and
they were trying like he at least at least you
had some stability there. I think they're they're moving to
this brand new stadium, they need a buzz. They need
an excitement. I think they're going to try and make

(24:20):
a splash higher. Whether it's the right one or not,
I don't know, but I don't I think Anthony Lynn
has probably done. What do we think about Doug Marone
Jaguars Marone, Maron Marone? You think he's okay? That's that
was the word out of jackson Ability. I don't think
that he should, but I think that he ends up staying.

(24:42):
I will tentatively agree with Dan, and the reason why
I agree, okay, well, no, The reason why I agree
with Dan is because I Shod Kahn is a loyal guy,
and Shod Khan went completely against his loyalty and got
rid of Tom Coughlin because he thought Tom Coughlin was

(25:03):
the evil man in the room and they were going
to get free agents because of it. I don't think
Shod Khan has the heart to also fire Doug Marrone,
who apparently a lot of players like there in Jacksonville.
So tentatively, as of right now, I'll agree. I think
Doug Moron is back. Is I'm scared to find out
the song for this next guy, Freddie Kitchens for the Browns,

(25:23):
he back, Yes, Okay, I'll just let Jonas take the end.
I think he's gonna be back, and I think because
you pointed this out, Dan, look, their season, if they
get a win this weekend is going to look much different.
And they should because they're, you know, playing the Ravens,
who are going to be everybody, Oh yeah, but the

(25:43):
Steelers are playing the Ravens. Um Bengals have rested everyone. All. Yeah,
that is true. I would say he's gonna be back.
They're gonna finish seven and nine, and I think they're
gonna want to show some sort of stability with the
organization and so because of that, I think Freddie Kitchens
is back. But I do think they're going to try
and uh deal Odell Beckham in the off season. There
it is. There's a lot of factors to go into that.

(26:06):
One more for you. Zach Taylor with the Bengals, is
he one and done? No safe? Yeah? Yeah? Why does
he spell a Z A C. I've never seen that, Zach.
It's easier he could be a Zachary with an H,
you know, and maybe just wants to leave it off. Actually,
my point there made no difference whatsoever. Maybe there just

(26:27):
isn't an a K and his first name has a
lot in common with Clayton Kersh on the Playoffsky, yeah,
all right, there it is there. It is Blue Monday,
your recap where all these coaches will be fired by
eight o'clock Sunday night because now teams just want to
fire everybody immediately. And by the way, people that don't

(26:49):
like Adam Gas you know what I call him Dan.

Gottlieb Show week days at three pm Eastern noon Pacific

(27:09):
at the Jonas Knox I'm at Dan Buyer run Fox.
John Ramos hanging out as well. He is on Twitter
at j S Ramo zero six and there is word
that there could be a John Ramo show a right,
so you will want to stay tuned in the meantime.
Yesterday we started a segment calling predictions for the next

(27:33):
decade as we say goodbye to the twenty teens. Jonas,
we made predictions yesterday of stuff that we could see
coming from to the year. Here's here's made their rounds.
In addition to picking the Mexico City SuperSonics to win

(27:54):
the NBA title and in addition to the Oregon Oklahoma
Pack six entitle game, I also picked vlag Garrero Jr.
The first one hundred player in Major League Baseball. All right,
and now we have sent it out to everybody, saying
radio hosts with quotes. Radio host says Vlad Guerrero Jr.

(28:17):
Could hit one home runs in the next decade. Now
do you think those losers, the nerds that run Icy
Hot Takes or whatever that dumb Twitter account, do you
think that you think they're gonna get ahold of that
and uh and and remind you of it ten years
from now. I hope they do. I don't. I hope
that they do because then they can hear our other predictions.
Jonas picked Tom Brady to retire. That's true. So there

(28:39):
go out on a limb, you know, why not? I
hope they do. I hope it runs like wildfire. I mean,
Barry Bonds had to be juiced out of his mind
and he only hit seventy three. So so to add
to that without being juiced out of your mind, and listen.
You can mock Dan Byron and I all you want,

(28:59):
But we actually did this same segment ten years ago
and Dan called his shot. He told everybody Bruce Jenner
would become Caitlin. He did. So you think you think
he doesn't know what he's talking about, Screw you. I
may have gotten word that the Blue Jays are moving
the fences down the left field line. There is that

(29:20):
is good, so hopefully that will aid Alright, do you
have for the next Yes? I believe in the next
decade we will see a fifty million dollar a year quarterback. Yes,
I believe a fifty million dollar year quarterback will happen.
Now you can look at that and say, oh my god,

(29:40):
of course. I mean, you know that the price of
these quarterbacks is going up, but there is going to
be a pushback, and with the way offenses are done nowadays,
people maybe will value more a a coach being able
to get the most out of your quarterback as opposed
to vice versa. But I feel with sports gambling and
all the revenue that continues to come in to the NFL,
I think a fifty million dollar quarterback is going to happen. Jonas,

(30:04):
I'm gonna stick with football, but I'm gonna take another
angle on this. I'm going to college football. We could
see l s U and Clemson playing in the College
Football Playoff in a little over two weeks in New Orleans.
But I also predict that they will agree on a
home and home series in college football. L s U
will host Clemson and baton rouge in with the return

(30:26):
game in twenty six in Clemson, South Carolina. So that
agreement will come to fruition this decade with the game
four decades from now. So a battle of death Valleys. Yes,
there is the Death Valley off, the Death Eist of
the Valleys. All right, Dan, I got one here. I
believe in crunching the numbers and using just based past information,

(30:49):
based on what I'm watching, all the analytics that I
do follow and pay attention to. I believe Dan, in
the next decade, the Los Angeles Dodgers will not win
a World Series. Happen? Oh so, John Ramos, Uh, it's
not too late to get Lucas started on the Angels.

(31:11):
But the the l A Dodgers will not win a
World Series anyway? Is this back to the future that
comment on whether it is from back to the future
or not. Oh, I thought this was the return of
the Sith. Make like a tree and go screw yourself.
What I want to let you know that today's dog
gotlip shows brought to you by NITZA. It's never okay

(31:33):
to drive stone. You put yourself and others in danger.
If you've been using marijuana in any forms, do not
get behind the wheel. If you feel different, you drive different,
Drive high. Get a d U I paid for by NITZA.
I've got more predictions here. Yeah, let's strike up the
band again. Is the year great Scott Fox, Ads Gronk,

(31:58):
Tony Gonzalez, Peyton Manning, Brett Farve, Drew Brees, and Aaron
Rodgers as analysts to sit next to Howie Long, Michael Strahan,
Jimmy Johnson, Terry Bridgehaw and host Skirt Menafee on the
Fox NFL Something pregame show, forcing everyone to get to
monitors side by side. You'll be able to see the
entire cast on that broadcast, so it's a whole round

(32:19):
table of twelve NFL analysts that you can see only Dan,
I've got one for you all right. In the next decade,
Dabo Swinney will be the head coach at Alabama. Oh,
that's actually Dabbo Swinney and Alabama. Alum. He was on

(32:42):
that national title team that that beat the Miami Hurricanes.
I'm over it. Uh and uh he was on that team.
He was with Alabama. I believe Dabbo Swinney at some
point is going to get the call. Alabama is going
to open up the vault, say whatever you want, it's yours.
And I think he is going to kind of get
maybe a little outgrow the smaller market that is Clemson,

(33:05):
and I think he's gonna want to go back home.
Dabos twenty bill being Alabama Crimson Tide coach. Are you
ready to watch some tennis? You're gonna watch Roger Federer
and Novak Djokovic planning synthetic grass in the US. So
you're gonna have the hard courts of the Australian Open,
the clay at the French Open, the real grass at Wimbledon.
Hey Field turf comes to Flushing Meadows. Why not? And

(33:26):
you know what's great about the synthetic grass, After you're
done playing on it, you could smoke it. That's true.
Hopefully it's just not a hundred degrees out where the
grass is like d and eighty degrees. Yeah, I got
a final one for the years. And John Ramos promises
to take his son Jonah to the Olympics in Los Angeles,

(33:49):
only to miss the metal round in archery after Kitty
Booth for gets attacked by the neighborhood dog. There it is, Jonah.
You We're gonna go to the Olympics and watch archery. However,
the demise of Kitty Boo the fourth prevented that from happening.
That's in the next decade. Oh man, I want to bummer.

(34:10):
Be sure to catch the live edition of The Doug
Gottlieb Show week days at three p m. Easter noon Pacific.
We've got incredible personnel here, having Kinsel Executive producing, David
Gascon at the anchor desk, and John Ramassar, Technical producer.
And our next guest covers the Saints for NOLA dot Com.
Rod Walker joins this ear on Fox Sports Radio. Hey Rod,
Happy Holiday's, Happy New Year. How are you same media?

(34:32):
Thanks for having me out. Let's let's dive into the
big news of the day because the Saints are providing it.
What were your initial thoughts when you find out that
Antonio Brown was in town for a workout. Well, my
phone was in this morning. I was I was trying
to get some sleep and didn't realize what was going on. All. Yeah,
we heard the news about Antonio being in town, posted

(34:52):
some stuff on social media and it was clearly you know,
it's clearly he was in the Saints slacker room and
really big news, right yeah, I mean nobody really saw
it coming or expecting this at all. Um and saying
that we had Sean Payton a couple of months back,
and I think that may have been I'm not sure
Felts when the Raiders let him go on, when the
Patriots let Will go up. He was interested in you know,

(35:13):
I said, now, we're not really interested in him, and
you know, here we go today and they brought him
in for a workout. So it kind of shows you
how things contained in the NFL. Is there any or
is there more concern about the Michael Thomas injury heading
into the playoffs or or is the feeling there he's
gonna be okay. I think he's fine. You know, Michael
was limited and practiced on Wednesday and Thursday, but he

(35:35):
participated fully today and he's not you know, he's not
listening it out for Sunday. I think he's I think
he's good to go. And I don't think that injury
was as bad as you know, people may have been speculating. Actually,
with this news coming out, people probably really did, you know,
try to connect the dots on the two, but I don't.
We don't think they were connected at all. I mean,
the things about six guys in today, it wasn't just
Antonio Brown. They brought in some other guys. The timing

(35:58):
they knew it's the former guy, former best player who was,
you know, part of that passing affairs playing the NFC
Championship game against Ramps. He was one of those six guys.
But honestly, Antonio see the big name out of that
six may group of six that they probably on to workout.
Rod Walker joining us here on Fox Sports Radio covering
the Saints for NOLA dot Com. Find him on Twitter
at rod Walker NOLA. That was the issue that I

(36:18):
had and Jonas and I talked about, was I'm sorry,
but if you bring in six guys and one of
them is Antonio Brown, Antonio Brown is gonna be the
best one of the workout that. That's my question. If
there's no question about it, so is there an ulterior
motive here? I questioned that that this could be an
opportunity for them to keep the distractions off the failures

(36:38):
of the final two seasons, to try to not make
that a storyline coming into these playoffs. Do you think
that this was maybe done as kind of a a
you know, three card Monty slid of hand sort of
thing to get maybe attention elsewhere. I don't. I really
don't think so. I mean, just kind of talking to
Sean today, I mean, you know, you talked about something
they've done all sat and you'll bring me a guy

(36:59):
at the different positions that I think there's some um
type of interesting I don't think. I don't know if
they would have used Antonio Brown to be that that's distracted,
even though he you know, if you wanted to make
something of just distracting, that would be the one to use.
But I just don't see it. I think they really
have some genuine interest there. I could be totally wrong
when it's just my views on after you know, just

(37:21):
kind of talking to them today and just talking to
some of the guys in the locker room today, but
I think that's some I think there's some genuine interest there. Rod.
You're there at ground zero with you know, the Saints
and covering the team, and you're in New Orleans, and
from a national standpoint, we we think we have an
idea of how it is at where you're at, but
the reality is, you know better than us. How often

(37:43):
is the passionate Fearence play still brought up? And how
big of a deal was that they're in New Orleans
over the past several months. I think amongst the players
that's not bought up at all. But I mean, you know,
you can walk around New Orleans and people will still
bring it up, and you know, they there's a lot
of the fans here still have a you know, so
that chip on the shoulder because of that play at

(38:05):
a you know sort of a you know, they still say,
you know, any any bad call that goes against the
science now, I mean, it always sort of goes back
to that play, and you know, it's at the NFL's
against us type thing, and and I don't think that's
the case. I don't think the NFL's against the science.
I think the NFL is just you know, I'm not
thinking this will just make bad calls, and when it's
your team, you just happen to notice it more. But yeah,

(38:26):
you definitely here it, uh, and I don't know if
you'll ever stopped here. I think because of that one
play and the impact of it. I think fans in
New Orleans are always remembered, and I think from here
on the eternity, uh, the next you know, every bad call,
they don't kind of go back to that play. It's
just how it is, and that's how it's going to be.
I think, And I think, and Dan brought up the
last two seasons, you had the Minneapolis miracle and then

(38:47):
obviously the non pass interference call in the NFC Title
Game last year. Does it feel like, in talking with
those guys, maybe Sean Payton Drew Brees that there's a
little bit more added pressure that you can't just guarantee
you're gonna get to this point every single season. At
some point you've got to be able to cash in.
And and as this continues to grow, does this feel

(39:08):
like sort of a make or break the season for
the Saints? I think so. I mean, in fact, the
column I wrote before the season started, I mean, I
say I had the super Bowl of bus for this team.
And I don't you know that that super Bowl window
doesn't stay open forever unless you're get the new even
paint you right, But everybody else, I mean that one
to you know, you get two or three years at

(39:28):
and you know, other things started to catch up with you.
And you know, fortunately for the Saints, I mean in
their division, they've still been you know, they reign Supreme
and u NFC South the whole time, and you know,
they still seem like they're a little bit ahead of
everybody else. But I think they know that. I mean, obviously,
Drew BID's is getting older. He turns forty one in January,
and he's not gonna be here forever. And you know,

(39:49):
you you know, just with the you won't be to
keep all these players around forever. So I think they
realize that, you know, they need to try to strike
when the iron is hide. And you know, if I
think this is the year they want to go for
the last one for me is Rod Walker Jones this
here on Fox Sports Radio covering the scenes for NOLA
dot Com. He's showing the knocks. I'm Dan Buyer and
for Doug Gottlieb Today what's been up with Alvin Kamara

(40:11):
this year? I mean, is there is are we gonna
see a push with his usage, with his effectiveness, doesn't
necessarily seem like the Alvin Kamara of years past. Is
there something that maybe we don't know because because we're
on the other coast or the nation is missing, but
there seems to be just a little something off with
Alvin Kamara this year? Is is there any truth to

(40:31):
that rod Um? You know, he had that he played
really well against Seattle in Week three, you know, the
first game without Drew, and then he end up tweaking
his knee, you know, a couple of games and he
was out, and you know that's something we've asked him
about it. But he had a breakout game on Sunday.
You know, he looked like the old Alvin American and
you know, just talking to Drew and just some of

(40:52):
the other guys who got to Sea and they kept
saying that, you know, just be Patent's gonna come back around.
And and nobody has said anything about if if the
knee and ankle were bothering him at all, But he
he looked at his own cephone on Sunday against the
Titans for the first time a long time as the
first time scoring a touchdown since that Seattle games. I mean,
he's only scored, you know, he he scored those two

(41:12):
in the first two games and hadn't scored since, so
he was able to end that draft. I think, you know,
I think we get to a point of season where
you're gonna going with the last game now, but I
think you'll start to see something that old Avil came era.
And I'm not sure what you know where he was
for all these weeks, but I think he's he shows
Sunday that he's probably back to that old form. Last
one for Rod Walker here on Fox Sports. Trader covers

(41:35):
the Saints for NOLA dot Com. Um, Rod, you mentioned
Drew Brees his age obviously, and everybody's talking about what's
the future of Tom Brady. Um. In New Orleans, you
had Teddy Bridgewater come in and play really, really well
and they were undefeated with Drew Brees out with that
injury to his hand. Best guests in covering the team
for as long as you have, how does this end

(41:56):
for Drew Brees in New Orleans? Um? You know my
answer thought of change on that before the season. You know,
I was saying, Okay, if if Drew can win the
Super Bowl this year, I think he'll just go out
on top. But I'm not really sure if Drew is
wide that way. Man. I think he's a guy that
is so competitive. I mean most people will say, Okay,
I wanted them what he want now, and you know,
I'll go out on top. I just think Drew is

(42:17):
so competitive, and he still thinks that he can lead
this team. And I think, you know, he's a guy
who could win the Super Bowl this year, said hey,
let's go back and try to do it again next year.
So I'm not really sure where you know, with um,
you know how it ends to him as far as
this season. And and ted is a guy I don't
know if you know Teddy they signed him to a
one year deal, is Off says, I don't know. He

(42:37):
comes back to be a backup again. So, you know,
I think that's gonna be the one of the biggest
questions after this season ends. You know what this team
does at quarterback? New Orleans speaking columnists Rod Walker find
him on NOLA dot com. It's where he covers the scenes.
You can read all of this stuff. Also fund him
on Twitter at Rod Walker, No, La, Rod, we appreciate it.
Happy holiday's, happy New Year, and uh yeah, enjoy the playoffs,

(42:58):
all right, Thanks man,
