(00:26):
Up America, Doug gott Leave Show, Fox Sports Radio. I
hope you're having a great day, interesting day in the
world of sports. Um, I want to explain some Dak
Prescott stuff for you upcoming in fifteen minutes twenty minutes
away from Brandon Weedon joining us. We had his thoughts
on Dak going down, what it's like to be that
backup because remember he was the backup when Romo went
(00:49):
down one year. Got some starts, very limited playbook. We'll
ask Brandon Weeden what it is like to be the
starting quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys when no one wants
you to be the starting quarter back in the Dallas Cowboys. Like,
that's a weird feeling. It reminds me of it. I'm
gonna tell him this. Uh Ramos, are you aware? Do
you remember you remember Stephen A. Smith's TV show called
(01:13):
Quite Frankly? Yes, I do. Okay, do you know who
the only fill in host in the history of Quite
Frankly was. I'm gonna guess it's somebody that's around this
studio right now. I'm gonna say Doug Gottli. So it
was a live show in Times Square. It's really cool
little studio. This is, um. I mean, we're going back
(01:36):
probably twelve thirteen years ago, a long time ago, and
Stephen A. Smith had a show, a nightly kind of
talk show called quite Frankly Right, and he took a
week off, and you know, they had a live studio audience.
So the live studio audience, and I now the host
(01:57):
of quite Frankly filling in Stephen A. Smith, do godly right?
So out walks six ft white Jewish kid from Orange County. Hi, Hi,
quite frankly right. No one wanted me there. I know
that feeling like, all right, let's just get through the show.
(02:18):
Let's treat him like he said, like he's kind of
sort of normal, and let's get through quite frankly. This
is what I think. Hopefully those tapes have been destroyed. Hopefully, UM,
lots to get to. Let me let me start with this.
The Clippers hired Tyron Loot today. Ty Luke Mexico, Missouri University,
(02:39):
Nebraska played over a decade in the NBA, longtime assistant
the NBA, specifically to Doc Rivers, has been an NBA
head coach. And look, I I get it. There's a
little bit of it. It makes total sense. The Lakers
wanted to hire him last year, didn't. The Calves as
their interim head coach, won a championship with him, and
(03:01):
the Clippers weren't that far removed from from winning a championship.
And I do believe that the Clippers were adversely affected
by being in the bubble right that that it it
affected them, maybe more so than the Lakers. They're they're
they're not a runner less ship, but they're best players
(03:22):
kind of a mute like Kawhi Leonards is not really
a vocal leader. Paul George wants to be a vocal leader.
And then everybody rolls their eyes and they don't really
have like their third best players are all kind of
bench guys, junkyard dogs, all kind of tough guy. They
don't have a they don't have a troop point guard
and they don't have good enough big guys, so a
(03:44):
slightly flawed team. And they were all flawed this year
without experience playing together, and all of their attitudes collectively
slipped in the bubble and they didn't have the right leadership.
They change head coach for assistant head coach, but the
assistant head coach has won before. Here's the does it
makes sense? Right? In order to win in the NBA,
to win a championship, you have to have respect of
(04:06):
the locker room. You want to have the respect of
the locker room. You know, it's really good if you've
won in the NBA. So Tyron Loew has that not
only is a coach, but at least partially as a player, right,
And those backup point guards that you've got to be
tougher than a two dollar stake to be a backup
point guard in the NBA. He was. I played against
him in college. He's a really good player, really good
(04:28):
tough dude, good player, mid range pull up jump shooter.
You know. I know he's most known for getting stepped
over by Allen Iverson, but that he won that They
won the championship four games to one. It's a great win.
Iverson is a great player, But if that's what you're
known for when you lost the championship, I'd prefer to
win the championship, regardless of which. I think it's amazing.
(04:53):
I think it's amazing. A couple of things. One, how
people have misconstrued or misunderstood the different hires in the NBA.
And the thing that we always if had they hired
a white coach, it would have been while there's another
white coach higher or whatever. Tyron leew wasn't hired because
he's black. Tyron Lee was hired because he's a former
(05:13):
player who won as a coach as a champion. Right.
And one of the things that many coaches, assistant coaches,
black or whit or otherwise they kind of quietly burn about,
is really, do we need another retread? All right? This
guy's had his chance, he turned out a chance to
the Lakers. Do one another reach shed and with a
rebuilding team, I would say, no, we don't want another retread. Right.
(05:38):
That didn't work for Frank Vogel, for example, as a retread,
but put him on a championship team. When you've coached
at the highest are close to the highest level, and
you need those you need those respect hours, you need
those work hours. You need to have been in the
white hot spotlight. And if you think, well this won't work,
it might not. But it did work with the Lakers
(05:59):
right there, first year of having Lebron James, they had
a different head coach in Luke Walton. They bring in
a retread in a Frank Vogel, and it works. The
difference here is Tyron lou was if that was the Titanic.
He was second in command of the Titanic, and now
he's like, you know what, I can lead this ship.
(06:19):
You just grounded the Titanic. So are there questions? Sure? Sure? Um.
I don't know how much of a difference there is.
I don't know if they just tired of hearing Doc,
or if Doc was a bad fit, or if Tyler
stabbed him in the back. I do know that I
had heard that the Clippers brass wasn't totally convinced on Tyler,
(06:41):
but he smartly went out and got leveraged by probably
getting an offer from Houston, probably getting offer from the Pelicans.
It's go time, what's it gonna be? But I do
think it's interesting that here he was second in command
of the Titanic and now he's getting command of that
(07:01):
exact same ship. Why because he has experience and he
has positive experience. In fairness to him, like he has
positive experience, I got I get no issue with with
Tie as a player. It's the or as a coach.
I just I do think it's interesting. Are they gonna
(07:24):
change nothing but the head coach? It also points to
everybody wants to fire the coach. But unless you have
an absolute set you know who it's gonna be. For
a championship team, it's a little bit harder than you think.
There are fewer and fewer guys who can walk in
and command this respect of a locker room. It's all
(07:44):
about fit. And we said this yesterday. And if his
personality is better with Kauai, if his personality is better
with Paul George and oh yeah, by the way, he
can do the two things that Doc Rivers cannot. Doc
was a very good player, but none of those guys
in the locker room remember him as a player, whereas
Tye at least has the street credit of having played,
(08:05):
and more than anything, he can tell them this is
what we did with Lebron, this is what we did
to win a championship with the Celtics. He's been a
part of both of those things. So kind of interesting
that the owner, Steve Bomber, wanted massive change, wanted heads
to roll, and really all they did was knock off
the head coach and promote the assistant and probably not
(08:26):
make many other moves. But the nature of the NBA
Black white mixed race doesn't matter. The hardest thing to
gain is positive experience. If you have that positive experience
in your resume, you vault yourself ahead of just about
anybody else, regardless of color. Be sure to catch the
live edition of The Doug Gottlieb Show weekdays at three

You know, it's really funny how manipulable, manipular, manipulatable um
the media is, and and it does have to do
(09:09):
with Dak Prescott a little bit. But let me start
with Levyan Bell. Levian Bell got released yesterday by the
New York Jets, and it is fair that Joe Douglas,
the general manager of the Jets, didn't really want him.
It is fair Adam Gaze, the coach of the Jets. No,
one just didn't want him, didn't want a running back
(09:30):
at that expense. And this is a Mike Mike mccagnan.
Mike mccagnan was the one who signed that deal and
then he was summarily fired shortly thereafter. But earlier today
there was a report or a tweet by a couple
of people that are reputable that Levian bell Is down
(09:52):
to was the Chiefs, the Bills, and the Dolphins. Yes,
two of the five i've best teams in the NFL,
and the Dolphins are in that division. And then what
you hear is, well, Adam Gaze, he didn't want him,
he didn't use him. You're not gonna use him, then
then get rid of him. Okay, um I would If
(10:18):
you want to tell me that Adam Gaze strikes people
as arrogant, I have no argument there. If his coaching
has left a lot to be desired, I got no
argument there. He has a reputation as a great play
caller that from his days with Peyton Manning. I don't
It's really hard considering how mismatched the pieces actually are.
(10:41):
But this idea that they don't want to use levy
on Bell. Like Levyan Bell last year had two five carries.
They used him, they tried, he averaged three point to
two yards a carry. Well, they didn't want to use him,
as you know, totally him. He had sixty six catches.
Let me explain something to you. Was Levan Bell overpaid? Yes? Okay,
(11:05):
but he sat out a year and he was never
the same football player. He's not the same football player.
It's it's one of the risks that a lot of
these college kids that opted out are taking by sitting out.
Sure you're not You're healthy, your body's intact, okay, But
(11:26):
not playing football a year doesn't make you a better
football player. There there is. There is absolutely no correlation
between sitting out a year and then as an older
football player. It ain't like it resets your clock. Rob
Grenkowski didn't play for year. Ah, he lost weight. He
staying away football. He's feeling great. Have you seen Rob
(11:46):
Gronkowski run? It hurts me to watch him run and
try and get out of a break again. This is
this is a lot like the Dak Prescott story. Wow,
you know that Steelers didn't want him? No, Steelers alfred
him a on tract. It was just not some absorbing
in contract that they felt like he would be overpaid.
And it wasn't like the Jets didn't want Levyan Bell.
(12:07):
They just didn't want him at you know, twelve thirteen
million dollars per year. And oh yeah, by the way,
that would be the old levy on Bell before he
sat out a year before he came back. And he
can't run nearly as anymore. He's not elusive, he doesn't
get open. Wow, they didn't use him. He wasn't any good.
(12:29):
Adam Gates is fighting for his career. You he gets
fired this year after getting fired a year and a
half ago by the Miami Dolphins. Very unlikely anytime in
the near future he'll get job number three. So if
you think for one second that a guy who I
don't like Levyan Bell, but I'm not gonna use him
(12:50):
out of spite like that would be the dumbest. That
would be career suicide. If you have a star running
back and you're like, I don't like his attitude, I'm
not gonna play him. No, m he just done any
good anymore. And oh yeah, by the way, the Chiefs
and the Bills and I'm sure they are doing backflips
to go see Levian Bell can't run away from anybody.
(13:13):
I don't think Adam Gates is as smart as he
may think he is. But he's not as dumb as
some of you are proposing that he is, or as
ego Field that he won't play a guy who's bar
and away his best player. There's a reason they could
not get a trade for Levian Bell. The league has
seen him. You can't escape the tape. The eye and
(13:35):
the sky do not lie, and once you can't run,
it's really hard for you to try and play. Now,
he may sign with somebody and you'll see a couple
of games when he can muster up. You know, he
rests up whatever is the league becomes depleted, so many
injuries and he's playing in a league minimum. Fine, But
(13:55):
I hear all this. Adam Gates didn't want him. He
might not have wanted him, but he would have used him.
If he can play, can't play. If if Levian Bell
is averaging four and a half yards and carry five
yards to carry, guess who's getting the football? Yes, who's
getting the football this weekend with the New York Jets. Look,
(14:16):
he's just not good anymore. That happens. It happens to
all these guys to get to the late twenties and
they're just not that good anymore. They cut him and
still have to pay him. Like you think you think
Joe Douglas isn't go like, hey, I'm gonna pay you
to not play for anybody even though you're still awesome. Okay,
(14:39):
that would that would kind of be dumb. And I
don't think that. No one has told me that Joe
Douglas is dumb. They have. I have not heard that
in any phone call that I've had in regards to
the New York Jets and try to figure out what's
going on there. No one said, Hey, you know who's
not that sharp? Joe Douglas. Actually it's been the opposite,
(15:00):
Joe Douglas, sharp guy. When you got a guy can't
play anymore and he's just taking up a roster spot
and he's not he's not all in it to win it.
It's not like you can put a veteran running back
on special teams. They kept Frank Gore, they got rid
of Levian Bell. What does that tell you? Be sure
to catch the live edition of The doug Gottlieb Show
(15:21):
weekdays at three p m. Easter noon Pacific. This was
Dak Prescott on his Instagram earlier today. There's a thing
of obviously, you know, haded to see the doctor, haded
to see my leg for the first time post surgery.
Uh so, just ready to start this road to come back.
I know this, just this limited versity is just gonna
be another another chapter in the book. I'm excited to
(15:42):
move forward and write it. Look, we've we've gotten so
many of these things twisted, right um that you know
we we made it Jerry versus Dak, which is silly, right,
Like Jerry Jones literally would pay guys whatever if it
wasn't for a salary cap. They just didn't manage it well.
(16:07):
But where he previously didn't have leverage, and the more
time that was on the side of Dak Prescott, the
more contracts would go up, so his contract would go up.
Now it changes as a salary cap is very likely
to go down next year. But you hear the things
that Jerry said, You understand how the team, how his
(16:30):
current coach, more importantly, how his former coach view him.
He's not hitting the free agent market. They're not not recent.
You don't offer a guy a five year contract then
he performs at a higher level statistically than he's ever performed,
then he gets hurt. The whole uh city of Dallas
is like at their knees weeping over deck, and all
(16:52):
of the Cowboy fans and former Cowboy players and coaches
are all saying what a great leader he is, and
you don't pull that contract offer like we've gotten like
the peak silliness, And do they have some leverage that
they could use and maybe adjust the contract shore are
they going to know why? Because that's not Jerry Jones right.
(17:13):
The only reason Dak replaced Romo was Romo kept getting hurt,
and then DAC won thirteen games, and then Romo came
out and said, like, look, football's meritocracy. He's winning that
he's it's his team. And Romo wasn't. In his mid twenties,
he had had more. He had multiple collar bone injuries.
That was a weird broken bone in his back. And
(17:35):
Romo had this great opportunity to go to TV, so
he was he was good. He was fine, like the
idea that that's gonna happen here. You know, look, ay
Daland's a nice quarterback, he's one not gonna win thirteen games. Secondly,
they don't have either of their offensive tackles, and whatever
(17:56):
numbers he puts up, they're going to pay in comparison
to what Dak put up. They'll be a little bit tighter,
they'll run the football more, I'm guessing to be more conservative,
and it may help their defense playing fewer plays. But
I I the idea that all of a sudden, you're
gonna ala, We're done with that now. Oh that that
got hurt, It's gonna be his team. Jerry said as much,
(18:21):
and the five year contract offered. The deck turned down
said as much as well. Brandon Weeden has been that guy.
There's no one else you're gonna hear on any radio
station anywhere who has been. Um what Andy Dalton is,
which is the replacement to a crazy, popular, crazy talented
starting quarterback with the Dallas Cowboys. That's Brandon Weeden. He
(18:41):
joins us on the Doug Gotlip Show on Fox Sports Radio. Okay, Um,
what week was it that that Romo got hurt when
you were his backup? Oh? I'm guessing, but I'm thinking
it was week three or four. We were in Philly.
When he broke his collar bone. Yeah, I'm guessing. Was
we three weeks four or somewhere around there, So it
(19:02):
was early it was, it was it was early on
the year. Okay, so so kind of similar, right, similar?
How was you? How was the team playing at that
point in time? Uh? Not bad? Not bad. I think
we were two and one or two and two somewhere
around there. I mean we lost the opener if I
remember right, and then we think we went on the
road and want to won a game I like I
said I had. I can't remember exactly, but I mean
(19:25):
we were. We were around five hundred and uh. Tony
was playing pretty well. We had some injuries there. The
often flis we'll beat up kind of like they are now. Um,
so it's kind of eerly a similar situation. Okay, so
he gets hurt and you immediately went in. Yeah, so
he got hurt mid third quarter? We uh, I remember right,
(19:45):
we were It was a close game. It was a
one score game. I think, um, we may have a
maybe a three point lead or something like that. I
went in, they brought blood zero. I threw a touchdown
to Terence Williams to kind of seal it with about
three minutes left in the fourth quarter. I remember, right,
I went like eight for eight or nine for nine
that game? Do you want do you want to know? Sure? Okay,
it's Philadelphia, the second game of the year, the second game,
(20:07):
the second game in the year. Uh Brandwain was seven
for seven, seventy three yards, one touchdown. Notice you should
have quit right then? Perfect game dudet seven passer rating. Yeah,
I know that's hard to that's hard to follow up.
You got then the next next three teams we played
and one I'm playing the Super Bowl, and two other
future Hall of Fame quarterback. So it was I had
(20:29):
a tough road ahead and we were still kind of
trying to find our way, especially on the other side
of the ball. But yeah, that was man, you know,
I'm I thought about any Dalton. First thing I thought
was like, man, you know he's in Cincinnati. Here's a starter,
so there's obviously some pressure, but I bet he's got
more pressure as a backup quarterback in Dallas, just wearing
the star, the light spring being as bright as they are,
(20:49):
He's got more pressure now, I then he's ever had
in his career. There's there's no doubt, not about it.
I mean, you know, I've felt it, and I'd be
lying if I said I didn't. I mean, it's just
it's just different when you wear that, when you wear Star.
So I'm pulling for man. He's a good player. He's
played a lot of ball, so he should be all right. Um, okay,
this is this is why there's some things I've asked
you before, some things I haven't. I haven't asked you
about the touchdown pass in Philadelphia to win it. Did you,
(21:12):
on any level, because it ended so poorly in Cleveland,
did you, on any level want to just take your
middle finger and run around the field and pick up
any camera and give everybody the middle finger because of
how they talked about you? Right? Was there any part
of you that wanted that? I mean the competitive side absolutely? Yeah,
I mean you know, I, um, you know, I faced
(21:32):
some some serious adversity in Cleveland and and uh you know,
finally got out there. But yeah, I mean, shoot you out.
You're playing a rival up there in Philly, which is
one of the tougher places to play, especially in that division. Um,
you know, and it's like I I won the game,
but you know, made made a nice play there. It
was blitz zero and I got smoked um by the
defensive end. You know, I knew I was gonna get hit,
(21:53):
but it was I was just gonna slant. So it
was a pretty easy thrill. And Terence made have got
missed and when scored with forty one yard touched out.
So yeah, I wish if I could have had a
rent off of both things up, but that wouldn't have
helping had gone over very well. Okay, so, um, in
the weeks before and for people who forgot, like you
actually as a backup side of a multi year deal
with the Cowboys, like they liked you. They were like,
you're gonna be our backup for you for years to come.
(22:15):
So you were solidified when you walked in there. But uh,
the next week you're the starter and you're playing the
Atlanta Falcons. As you pointed out, they went to the
super Bowl. They're up to three. We know that that
was that was that same year. Um, what what changes
in Like did you get to the building earlier? Do
you are people bringing your breakfast now? Like? What do
you change chairs? You sit in the quarterback room? Like?
(22:37):
What changes when you go from backup to starter? Honestly
not not as much as you would think. I mean,
I kept my routine the same because I was I
was one of those guys who got there, you know,
pretty early. I was one of the first few there
and and so I didn't really changed that, and I
mean I think it was just more in the meeting
room itself. Just you know, Atlanta was a tough It
was a tough not a tough week to play because
(22:58):
our game plan was what it was. But that defense
that you know, it's that it's that Pete Carroll single
high that we call it sloop and it's real soft,
and they kind of just forced you to dencon Duncan.
We taught some of us playing the other night and
they were they were talking about it was Drew Brees.
Drew Brees is playing that that solid defense and uh,
you know, and you've got to be patient, and everybody's like, oh,
I checked it down. You know. I completed like eighteen
(23:20):
trip passes, and I remember it was pretty efficient. I
made a couple of really nice throws for Basiley, got
down to one through nicelool crossing round. You know, so
there were some a few chunks in there, but that
defense didn't didn't allow you to throw the ball on field.
They just they would not let you over the top
of their head. So everything we call a little jolt hole,
and there's a little area in the field where they're
kind of vulnerable for five seven eight yard eight yard games.
(23:40):
And we just kind of exploited that early on. I
got out to it. We kind of we pulled in Atlanta.
Against Atlanta, we got it to a nice lead, and
uh the second half came back and and um and
gave it up. I remember I remember you being we
talked at the time, we've talked since, you being frustrated
that like that week you had to check get down,
but they wouldn't you have a big arm. You're a
(24:02):
big dude with a big arm who can make any
throw in a football field. But you felt like they
were they just wanted you to run the football and
let the defense and your defense wasn't that good that year,
and let the defense win it in shorten the game. Uh.
Is that is that a universal problem with backups that
coaches get conservative or was it just part and parcel
to you and how they coached you. I think it's
(24:25):
kind of a universal problem. I mean, you know, maybe
with a couple of exceptions, and I think a lot
of times, you know, they and most times the backup
quarterback that doesn't have a ton of experience, you know,
and so you just don't want you don't want the
quarterback to screw it up, and so you kind of
turn in that game manager and you kind of you know,
you just you know, don't turn it over. Um, trying
not to go three and now keep a defense up
(24:45):
the field, the whole deal, running football, do all those things.
But you know, that week was I mean, that that
was just I remember that week in particular, Wade Wilson
was quarterbacks coaches like bringing him and he's like, you
might complete twelve balls in the back this game, and
that's what we want. We want you to you know,
just take what they give you. It's gonna be simple
game plan. It's gonna be stuff you like stuff, you know.
You know, so I had a little bit of say,
(25:06):
they're like, hey, do you like it? Are you comfortable
with it? You know, you haven't played a whole lot,
you know, so I kind of had a little bit
of say, like, yeah, this style of defense, you're not
gonna be able to throw you know, posts and corners
and stuff. Like that, you know, they're not gonna let you. So, Um,
it was kind of a relative conservative game plan. And
that's you know, that's that's the majority of backups across
the league. I would say, um, maybe we think that's
(25:27):
some guys again like Andy Dalton that's played he's been
a started for eight, nine, ten years in the league.
So I would assume those kind of keep doing what
they're doing and and uh, you know, let their weapons
kind of do the do the tough part. Doug otlip
Show here on Fox sport Trader. That's the voice of
Brandon Waden Mine starting quarterback with Browns, the Cowboys, the
Houston Texans. Um, it was was it that Bill O'Brien's
(25:48):
out of the building and now a sudden Deshaun is free,
but that the team looked like they had a little
bit of different hitch in their giddea up in their game.
Granted they played Jacksonville is not super talented. What are
your thoughts on Houston one game after they removed Bill
of Ryan. Yeah, I mean, you know, and I like Obrian,
I mean, we we got along fine. You know, I
just feel like and I've kind of alluded for a
(26:11):
little bit you know, just talking to you, I mean,
I feel like, not not that they're holding DeShawn back,
I just didn't really feel like they were giving him
every tool in the toolbox to be successful. And you know,
Deshaun improvises and does some things, and you know, he's
got a little more say than a lot of quarterbacks
that have been down there been with you know, Brian
the past. I just I think they're gonna kind of
(26:35):
kind of take the reins off, just kind of you know,
free up and and get a little more aggressive. You know,
there's a couple of things that they do that just
absolutely drive me nuts. And I'm hoping they get that,
you know, change. But you know, they're they're trying to
block defensive ends with tight ends and you know, put
backs on guys they shouldn't have protected stuff like that
that you know, gives DeShawn no chance. And you know,
I'm hopeful that you know, they can do some of
those little things like that too to give him a
(26:57):
chance to be a little more successful. But now, you know,
I think I think it was time. And like I said,
I like O'Brien, he's a he's a good football coach.
But I think it was time. It was it was
clear that he had lost the locker room. Um. You know,
when you have veteran guys that aren't seeing I I
and they start to butt heads, usually things go south.
And it seemed like that's what was going on down there. Yeah.
I tend to agree with you. Have you gotten a
(27:19):
chance to see Justin Herbert you mentioned watching the Saints play, Um,
it feels like to me, there's I mean, that guy,
he's a stud man. They have no there down three
offensive lineman right there down there starting running back as well,
so they can't run it at all. And he's back
there throwing absolute seeds and looks really confident against him.
(27:39):
I think New Orleans pretty good defense, especially against the run.
Have you gotten a chance to see the rookie quarterback
of the Chargers. Yeah, I've seen him play a couple
of games, you know, I was. I was one of
the guys coming to college that you know. Of course,
being being in the central part of the United States,
I didn't get a chance to se him play a
ton you know, when he's an oregan. But the games
I did see, you know, he showed flashes. I mean,
there was no dad, he had the armstring, the running
(28:01):
around build of the athletic ability, you know, just a
little inconsistent in my opinion. And Oregon. But man, dudes balling.
I mean, he's you can tell he's he's uh adapting
pretty well to the National Football League. And you know,
the two games I've gotten a chance to see him play,
he's he's blown me away. I mean, he really has.
He's he's playing a lot better than I anticipated. Um,
I think he's got a chance. You know, he's still,
(28:22):
in my opinion, just a little bit raw even. I
think he's got a really high ceiling and I don't
think he's really even scratched the surface. So I'm I'm
max just to see what he can do. You know,
he's got he's got a couple of really good receivers
around him, which helps, um, you know, keep those guys
help people with Keenan Allen and Mike Williams. But you know,
I think, yeah, man, I mean he's he I was wrong.
I mean I said I didn't think he's a bad
player by you know, by any means. But he's, uh,
(28:45):
he's playing his ass off. He's he's a good player.

it released jokes tell themselves. I'm telling you, I get
no respect, no respect at all. Just the other night,
I told my tend to show me something interesting. You
show me naked picture of my wife. It reminds that
who told you can take nett pictures of my wife?
He said, everybody day, I get no respect. It reminds
(29:48):
me of the mean mugging that we see in the NBA,
when everybody has that stupid look on their face after that,
just scored seven straight points. Yeah, mean mugging. Get back
on defense. Oh, I love it all right? Do you
call it Cadillac? And when they go around it? When
you when you, when you take your time, you super
around the bases after hitting home run. Cadillac definitely quick.

I feel, but we know who won't win this well?
(30:37):
John does have the second overall pick of this draft,
like the TADE picks. Oh, I like. I like where
I'm at right now. The draft is schedule to go
two rounds, but we could go three if needed. I
just don't think that four is necessary. I like, what's
the game today? What's what are we ranking? The rankings? Yes,
(30:57):
of the best teams in the NFL so far this season,
so Ryan Music is on the clock first, followed by
John Ramos myself, Doug, then you'll love the swing pick
back around in in the reverse order. So Ryan Music,
you are on the clock to pick the best team
in the NFL so far this season. Man, so many
good choices out there right now, but there's one that
(31:18):
sticks out to me, and I know it's gonna just
be a knife in the heart of one Doug Gottlieb,
because I will take his green baby pack all right now.
The only question John is are you going to do
the you know who you know who Dan is gonna
draft and to block him from some corded trade or
(31:42):
you okay, go ahead, No, I'm not gonna block him.
I'm actually gonna take who I think is the best
team in the NFL, and that is the Pittsburgh Stealers,
the defense, top five defense they got They just Chase
Claypool just came out last game as another virus. Were
of course been Big Ben. What can I say about him,
(32:03):
that Pittsburgh Skeeter. If I never to pick as the
best team in the NFL. Wow, that actually on my
big board was one and two because I also believe
in Pittsburgh. So that leaves me at three, and you
know there, it's a blessing and a curse to watch
the Seahawks. It's a blessing to watch their offense. It's
a curse to watch that defense. But I'll put the
Seahawks at number three since they are still unbeaten. Cool.
(32:25):
I'll take the cancer in the Chiefs. They want a
super Bowl. They got the best quarterback that they you know,
some teams are kind of figuring them out. They haven't
played their best football all year, and they did just
lose a home to the Raiders. Could have lost him,
It could have lost to the Chargers as well, but
we saw what they did against uh against Baltimore. I
don't think I'm you're I'm gonna get much arguing out
of you guys. It's just they haven't they haven't always
played their best football in their defense isn't hasn't been
(32:46):
as sharp. But I don't I mean you guys, I
mean honestly, I love the Packers. Would you really take
the Packers ahead of them if they're playing today? I
think I would, Yeah, yeah, especially what the Raiders did
them is alright. That you have the swing picks, I
do have the swing picks. I do have the swing picks. Uh.
(33:06):
Now it gets a little bit more difficult. Um, I
think you should go with the Falcons. Uh. No, okay,
so you guys know what's on the board. I'm just
struggling with the I'm actually not struggling with it. I'm
going to take the L. A. Rams. I'm gonna take
the l H. I feel like because they just kind
(33:27):
of took a week off against the against the Giants,
they're not garnering the respect they should. Um. The teams
have allowed the fewest points in the NFL. Like they're
in the top bottom top five. Their defense is outstanding,
gosplaying better, running games better. I love Cooper Cup. I'm
gonna go to L. A. Rams. If they didn't take
the half off against the Bills, they would be five
(33:47):
and all. But look, I think the Bills are a
good team. Um, and I think go ahead, it could
be it could be the best team in the Uh.
You know that they've one of the better wins. If
they would have came back and gotten that one, I've
I've got to go with the the other unbeaten, with
the Tennessee Titans, just for what they did against Buffalo
the Titans weren't necessarily facing murderers road to start this season,
(34:10):
but a nice comeback win against the Vikings and then
what they did Tuesday against Buffalo. I was impressed practice. Basically, yeah, yeah,
I'll take the Titans at six. All right, John Ramos,
you are well. You just brought up the team that
I think is there, and I think it is the
Buffalo Bills. I think Josh Allen is awesome. I think
Singletary is great in the backfield. I think they have
good wife receiving crew with the little man what's his name?
(34:31):
I forgot this. I like little Man a little bad.
I'll take the Buffalo Bills. That never said this is
a lamp for you, right, isn't it a man? I
don't think so. I think I'm gonna go off the
board here, I'm gonna go off the board. I'm gonna
(34:52):
shock the world. I am gonna go with the Cleveland Browns.
About that run game, controlling the clock, defense has been
very good. I think they're just completely remade under Kevin Stefanski. Um.
I think the win over the Colts really sort of
established them as a real team. I'm gonna go with
(35:15):
your Cleveland Browns. Okay, if we went to another round, Ryan,
would your next pick be the Ravens. I was thinking
about the Ravens. Yeah, I would probably reluctantly go with
the Ravens. But what's reluctant about. They won four team
games last year there four and one this year, granted.
And then your Cleveland Browns they beat three six and
it was first week of the season. They The only
(35:36):
really good team they've played so far is the Chiefs,
and they lost considerably. They also beat the Browns, so
you just took six. Yeah, but that was week one
of the season. So I'll go with the Ravens. You
go with the Ravens. Alright, Johnny got a quick team.
Take the Cardinals, I think, and I think they have
enough to that West except for the Fort Anders, The
(35:58):
West is great. All right? So where'd you go by?
New England? Yep, yeah, um, I'll tell you. I like
there's two teams. I feel like you're underrated New Orleans.
I mean, I can't believe New Orleans hasn't gone yet.
I like they've been playing without Mike Thomas is the
best wide receivering league, and frankly, the Bears defense look nasty.
Against Tampa and then you got Tampa there like this
is that was a that was a fun game, fun game,
(36:20):
you know the whole I hate to say I told
you so, you guys know I don't, right, And this
one revolves around Lamar Jackson's next The Doug Gotlip Show,
