(00:26):
you Doug Gotlip Show, Fox Sports Radio. Hope you're having
a great day. The Doug Gottlieb Show today is on
the road. Um music. Okay, I want you to you
know where I am. So I'm at the Coal Center
in uh Madison, Wisconsin right uh give give. If you

(00:48):
could close your eyes and say what is what what
I think Doug Gottlieb is doing looks like? What what
the setup is like right now? And I want to
thank Compass Media Networks. So I'm doing the calling the
color or for the game tonight with the great Wayne Larvy.
So I'm gonna get all the insight on the Green
Day Packers from the voice of the Packers, Wayne Larvy
a little bit later on, But if you could close

(01:10):
your eyes and picture what it looks like for me
right now. What do you think I'm doing? Where do
you think I am in the arena? What doink I'm doing?
I think you are in a totally empty arena by yourself,
sitting courtside, looking out on the court, maybe getting some
shots up in between each of the brakes. Not on
court side, okay, because in order to be courtside, you
have to have had I was tested yesterday, you have

(01:32):
to be tested again today. And there's really I just
can't be court You can't have any close interaction with anybody.
Um so I am actually was that that's the second
deck some right above the second deck in uh in
like a broadcasting box right at mid court. So the
w of of the Wisconsin Badgers is directly below me,

(01:58):
and uh just E and one of the best engineers
in the business, and and uh I'm kicking up my
feet and doing radio shows. So it's a it's just
a weird. But you know, they have the cardboard cutouts
and everybody's adjusted and put the sponsorship there. But this
is my first time I've been in one of these
empty arenas for a game. It'll be fascinating to see
exactly how it feels, because I think that college sports

(02:22):
has suffered the most, right, it's the most affected. In
the NBA is not great right now in these empty arenas,
but college sports is so affected by the crowds. Not
having them is really it's fascinating, and it's it's just
a different game. It does feel a little bit like
a like a scrimmage. Um. Anyway, let's let's let's let's
get to this. So I read this story earlier today

(02:45):
and it made me chuck a little bit. Now, I'm
not saying and it's really important. I'm not saying that
I think that in any way, in any way that
I think at uh Deshaun Watson and James Harden are
the same guy. Nope, but there's some similarities. They're not

(03:08):
just in the city in which they called home, right,
There's some similarities there. And it's not just the city
in which they call home. It's that both franchises have
moved mountains for their stars. Now, Harden has been there longer.
And in fairness to James Harden, as much as we
could be hyper critical of his lack of defense and

(03:32):
some of the off the court stuff and not coming
in shape one year this year and then a couple
of years ago when he was dating one of the Kardashians.
The fact is that he's actually seen more postseason and frankly,
regular season success than Deshaun Watson. Now, he's been there longer,
but he's won an m v P. Shaun Watson is not.
He's had the best record in the West. Shaun Watson's not.

(03:54):
He's actually here's I guess the parallel. They both lad
the league and assists. You know, Shaun Watson led league
in passing yards, but you know that was a year
in which they won four games. And as much as
James Harden hasn't gotten to an NBA finals with the Rockets,
they didn't get to one with the Thunder. They did
get to the Western Conference Finals, where they ultimately lost
in the Game seven, whereas Watson's won one playoff game.

(04:16):
Granted more of a team sport, not as things aren't
shaped as much by your one superstar. But here's the
important point. I saw the story from Pro Football Talk
that Deshaun Watson has privately told a couple of teammates
that if the coaching search doesn't go the way he wants,
he might ask to be traded. Now, there's a lot
of ifs and maybes and possibilities. I'll tell you what always,

(04:39):
and this relates to the college sports angle, is what
what always? What doesn't sit well with me in college
sports is coaches fired, star player wants his wants to
transfer before he not just meeting might meet once with
the coach, but ever has a practice with the coach you.
When I have interviewed for coaching jobs, I've often they've

(05:00):
they've asked me, they said, hey, what would you do
with the current players? Well, I want to keep them,
but I don't want to keep them just because they
want to stay, like I'd like him to stay here.
But here's what I really like. I'd say, like, hey,
if I get a coaching job, and most college basketball
jobs you get in April, right late March, maybe mostly
in April, schools out in May. Most teams now, guys

(05:23):
stick around for summer semester, and you can actually have
some workouts together in the summer. You could have a
summer trip. What I would tell guys, it's very simple, Like, look,
it's really really simple. Okay, I will grant you, I
will support you in your ability to transfer. And some
of this has changed because they may have the one
time transfer. We you don't have to sit out. But
here's what I would tell guys, but really simple, you

(05:46):
stay with me for April and May in the summer.
If you don't like it, and not only you, you
can leave, but I'll help you go to whatever school
you want to go to. Right, I will make that
happen and make it so that you can very very
simply transfer and play right away. Give you complete support.

(06:07):
But in order to do that, I need you to try.
It's the same way you tell your kids. Right, and
I don't like this, let's try it. Like if you
take a legit bite and I'm not talking about one
of those little nibbles, and Ramos knows what I'm talking
about with those littlenibbles, right, you know, when you have
the kid like, I don't want to turn, Like, just
try to take a bite. You're not gonna die from
trying to piece of sushi. You're not gonna die from

(06:27):
trying a piece of lamb. Like, just try a little
bit bite. If you don't like it, swallow it, and
then we move on to the next Like I don't
like it, and so uh, the first thing that disturbs
me is the idea that Deshaun Watson he already has
in his mind who he wants to play for. There
was a tweet yesterday which is the more uh basically

(06:47):
as an S O S same old you know what
sort of tweet, right, some thing's never changed. I think
it was his tweet. And and no one when you
have these vague tweets, especially a day like yesterday, did
he mean what happened in d C. Was that what
he's talking about? Or was he talking about what's happening
with the Texans where they interviewed. There's five guys that
were finalists for the GM job and they hired Nick Kissario.

(07:08):
Is that what they're talking about? But like, look, the
idea that you have to love the higher of the coach,
I give you the Green Bay Packers, give the Green
Bay of hackers. Aaron Rodgers didn't love the higher. I
didn't love the idea of wait wait, wait wait, I
don't have the full playbook at my disposal to call
the audible that I want. I get two plays a
line of scrimmage and I gotta pick him. I don't

(07:29):
want to do that. And one year into it, they
get to the NFC championship game. Two years into it,
they have the number one seed in the playoffs and
he has arguably his best season as a pro. Now,
Aaron Rodgers had to stick it out because of his contract.
They ain't trading him and because he's that good. Like

(07:52):
when I like, look, dude, we actually picked this coach
because we think it can elongate your career. We can
figure it out, and it's worked. And so like, look
Nick Kissario his relationship and it's been announced that I
think John McCain who's the longtime beat writer for the Texans,
put out that Josh McDaniels would not be the next

(08:13):
head coach of the Texans, like a serious relationships really
better with Brian Dable. And of course Brian Dable has
done a great job with the Buffalo Bills. And even
if Deshaun Watson doesn't like that, like you're gonna have one.
You're gonna have to give it a chance because of
your contract. You just signed the biggest contract, next to
Pat Mahomes in the history of the sport. So the
first part about it is the idea that you don't

(08:35):
even want to try. The second part about it, and
this is a big one. The the leaking of it
using your leverage. That's a bad play. That's a bad play.
You can have every amount of leverage you want to use,
but you do not let it become public because it does.
It does some irreparable harm at times to not just

(08:57):
the team you play for, but maybe the team you
may play for. It And if if you want to
get Deshaun Watson, you're gonna have to move heaven and earth.
Any roster he thinks he wants to play with is
gonna be decimated by trading for him. That's gonna have
to take on that that major contract. It's gonna have
to send back some huge pieces in return, not just
a quarterback. I'm not gonna say they're never going to

(09:18):
trade him, but this feels like a leverage play. That's
just silly. And it does mirror the James Harden thing
in hey man, everything we've done. Everything we've done from
hiring billow Why do you think they hired Bill O'Brien
because they wanted a guy who's seen as a quarterback
whisper to be with the quarterback. Why do you think
Bill O'Brien traded for the best young left tackle in football?

(09:40):
Why do you think he gave you that huge contract.
Why do you think he traded Do you think he
tried DeAndre trade DeAndre Hopkins because he didn't want to
give you weapons. Do they have any wide receiver on
their roster as good as DeAndre Hopkins? No, but you
know what, he had his best passing season as a pro,
So obviously there's some guys there that can play. So

(10:01):
I both love and hate these stories because it lacks
any sort of reality. And it's the world which we've
paid it for. Uh, for so many of these players
where they can kind of say that what they want
and they think they have this leverage. They think they
can pull the Jamal Adams and I can get to
where I want to get to. It's different when your quarterback,
and it's different when you've already been given If you

(10:23):
didn't like the progress of the franchise, you know what,
you probably shouldn't have done. You probably shouldn't have signed
the second biggest deal in the history of the sport.
This is a team that has drafted Titus Howard, who
was the best guard in the in the draft. They
traded for one of the best, if not the best,
young left tackle in the sport in Laramie Tunsil and

(10:45):
then paid him as such. They paid Watson. I mean,
where are you gonna get traded to? The Jets? Have fun?
The Bears? Okay? Do they have weapons? And by the way,
any raft picks to acquire those weapons will be sent
back in return. Washington. You want to play for Washington.

(11:07):
They got a very very good defense outside of terror. Mclauren,
what what what do they have? And again the resources
would be sent it would be would be sent right back.
You know they're not gonna send you to the Saints
and that that's not happening. The Niners. I haven't seen
the nine. The Niners are more likely to get somebody

(11:29):
who's in the inexpensive model because eventually they're gonna have
to pay Nick Bosa had to pay some of their
young stars. And they need a guy who fits their system,
and their system is not the way Deshaun Watson plays
where he holds the football right like Deshaun Watson honestly
would be great with Bruce Arians. It's not gonna happen,
but he'd be great with Bruce Arians. He'd be a

(11:51):
great replacement in Pittsburgh. Ben Roethlisberger. But do you think
Pittsburgh's trading for a guy who makes more money than
anybody but one guy? Now, that doesn't happen. That doesn't happen.
Just a lack of reality. And if you, if you
want to control your own future, you're better off doing
what Dak Prescott did. Don't sign a long term deal,

(12:12):
all right, you do, not have no one forced you
to sign it. But once you sign a long term deal,
you're there's baby, You're there's through thick and through thick
stud Atlip Show here on Fox Sports Trade al right,
coming up next, man, we got a lot of stuff
to get to. I mean, there's there's games we haven't
even got to. But the end of an era in

(12:32):
the NFL, and not one era. It's eras I'll explain
up coming next. But first, bet River Sports Book wants

Golip Show Fox Sports Radio, broadcasting from the Coal Center

about tonight's hoope game may give you a pick A

(14:02):
little later, I just did a bet Rivers reading. I'm like, man,
this is got the guys sending me like like Wisconsin tonight. Well,
when you start to twenty four year olds on a
really good team. Granted there's no fans here, but the
home court has been obviously super friendly at the Coal Center.
You you have a tendency to like it a little
bit more. Um, I've got a lot of things that

(14:24):
that I still haven't even hit on yet. There's just
We've got all these games and I continue to be
fired up about them. We've got Dan Buyer sitt and
sits uh standing by buy are your what are your
theory for? People don't know? Buyers only from Wisconsin but
also a huge Seahawks fan go back. We've told that
story before. Um, Seahawks are kind of a weird team

(14:44):
to figure out, aren't they? Like you know, like I figured,
I do think that getting Jamal Adams and Carlos Dunlap
has really helped them. Adams isn't hasn't been healthy right,
and suddenly their offense just can look feeble at times.
What do you think about the match up the Rams? Yeah,
it's it's interesting because the Jared Goff injury. If I'm

(15:06):
a Rams fan, you obviously want Jared Goff on the field,
But it's because it's gonna be a low scoring game.
I think it will be a one score game, even
though the last matchup two weeks ago ended up the
Seahawks scored late to to kind of seal the deal.
That I mean, the Seahawks first much as we had
you know, let Russ Cook. That's fine for the first
half of the season, actually was fine for the first

(15:27):
half of last season, but they really turned into a
running game. Well the defense is running team. While the
defense has come around. I really think that Pete Carroll
just wanted to run the football and have Carlos Hide
and Rashad Penny be the guys to spell Chris Carson,
and that would be the one thing that I would
be worried about because Chris Carson hasn't necessarily been exploding

(15:52):
as you enter the playoffs. I mean, he had forty
four yards against the Niners, excuse me, sixty nine against
the Rams the week before, so I think that's an
she was. Their running game maybe isn't as great, but
the Seahawks should have. They're they're starting five offensive line
in place for the game for the first time in
a while. Yeah, I mean, that's that's a big thing.
Is it's so hard to tell. I mean, this is

(16:12):
and it kind of relates to college basketball, right, like
Wisconsin beats the crap out of Louisville, but like Louisville
didn't have their five best players, they're the veteran players.
I used that to say, like, that's the same thing
in the NFL. Where As you point out Seahawks, I
would have to go back and look when the last
time I took a snap with all their starting offensive
lineman in place Pittsburgh last Week's like, yeah, technically the

(16:33):
Browns beat them. Technically the Browns beat them, but they
were they were beating the backups. So uh, it's really
and this year, especially where you have a guy who
misses a week because of COVID and you have it
makes it a bad matchup. All of these things are
in fact important. Yeah, and it's it's not an excuse.
It's just the way that you don't know. With Seattle,

(16:53):
it's honestly, I think that Pete Carroll would want to win.
It's just to run the football with those three guys
have Russ make plays when they need, but the running
game hasn't necessarily been there for them as they enter
this stretch. And and honestly, when you play a division
opponent that you've played, you know, twice in the season.
It's why I actually don't even think that the quarterback
situation is that much big of a deal for the Seahawks,

(17:14):
and trying to plan for whether it be Wolford or
whether it be Golf. Is they know what they're gonna
get with Jared Goff, you know, So it's not like,
you know, they have to plan for two guys. They
already know like that that's all set in stone. Maybe
they got to figure out a couple of different things
if you know, Wolford enters the game. But I don't
think it's gonna be as much of a factor. I
just wonder with Golf's thumb and again, one play, one throw,

(17:37):
one time you get hit, you can do it in
a controlled setting in practice. I just wonder if that's
going to be an issue at some point on any
given snap to use another cliche, where it could hurt
the Rams on Saturday. Yes, it's a it's a it's
a great, great point. It really is that um. But
they having gotten Wolford some snaps and some looks earlier,

(17:59):
you know, earlier on the season, go back just last
week and in a game which they had to win.
I think that gives you some confidence who did not
have before that took place? That that's fair as well,
isn't it. It's like a totally different thing. But uh,
he hadn't He hadn't seen him much, and he's he's
kind of got that like you know, run around playmaking
ability and now, look, are there gonna be a bunch
of nerves? Of course there are, of course are be

(18:21):
sure to catch the live edition of The Doug gott
Leap Show weekdays at three pm Easter noon Pacific. This
could be an end of an like that could be
it's gonna be end of era games in the playoffs.
That's what's really weird and different about this year in
the NFL is that usually when quarterbacks retire, you know,
we we've had the Payton Manning go out super boward

(18:43):
and play really well. But you know, he goes out
on top of seeing that from Damn Reno and and
that's obviously what's brought so many of these not Damn Reno,
um John Elway, and that's what brought so many of
these guys back. But between Philip Rivers, Philip Rivers, I
think Tom Brady's gonna play another year, but there's a
scenario where the Kurt Warner thing happens to him. Mur

(19:05):
Kurt Warrener's last game just took a savage beating. I
mean he got hit and his I mean he'll tell you.
Like Brenda was like a you're done, You're done. He
got hit and got hit, got concussed as how much,
turned sideways and she was like after the game, like,
you're done. And there's a scenario there where they could
be Brady against the Washington football team, especially that pass

(19:26):
rush looks bad and says, yeah, I'm good, I tried
it elsewhere. Um, I think if you look at Pittsburgh,
you know Ben Roethlisberg has looked very close to done.
Let's say they lose to Cleveland, who's got COVID issues
and doesn't have their head coach, he doesn't play well.
Not crazy to think could be end of an era there.

(19:48):
So like we think so much, it's okay setting up.
Most of the discussion has been Week two is gonna
be amazing, and that the chance to see Brady in
Lambeau against Rogers good. It could be an amazing game.
There's some outstanding matchups, who who will we see Lamar
against the Chiefs again? He's after he would that would

(20:10):
that means he'd eradicate the Demons against the Titans. But
the other part to this weekend which is interesting, is
is it the final time we see Philip Rivers in
a football uniform? Is it the final time we see
Tom Brady or Ben Roethlisberger Hall of famers in football uniforms?
So I think all of that is is uh is interesting.
In addition, yes, yes, Dan, go ahead, and those veteran quarterbacks,

(20:33):
as you talked about, the Briefe situation is so intriguing
to me because I after I failed to mention Breeze too,
by the way, sorry, but that's the one I missed
on the his situation because we I expected personally to
see a lot more of Taysom Hill in a couple
of games that Breeze returned from his injury, and considering
Hill started four games for them, that he would maybe

(20:54):
have much more of a role. And I just wonder
in the you know, the shows that I've done and
the guys that I've talk doing, the guys that I've
co hosted with, you know, bring up the point maybe
Sean Payton's holding something back maybe for their playoff run
where you're not seeing how they're gonna use breeze and
more of Taysom Hill. I'm curious to see how that
plays out on Sunday against the Bears, or if it's

(21:16):
even a case of maybe Peyton waiting to hold it
back for the divisional round, or if it's not going
to happen at all. I mean, we did our draft
and we all felt that the Saints were the team
that we're most likely to win uh this weekend of
the six matchups, So you know, what do you do
in that situation? And how is Taysom Hill used? And
is it I mean, is it Peyton out smarting and
everybody or is he just showing us what they're gonna do.

(21:37):
That's what I'm intrigued to see, at least in the
in the Sunday games. I I am. Are you surprised
at all that they haven't tried Jamis? Yes? But I
also think and I felt that this was the way
that it doesn't benefit them to allow Jamis to be
seen as much. Where I think that they want him

(21:58):
to be like Teddy Bridgewater and back for another season
and in their system and putting him out there. I
don't know of any NFL team that has any more
information on Jamis Winston than they do of him throwing
thirty interceptions with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and so to
only see that half of football, I'm just wondering if
they're saying, like, all right, we'll just keep Jamison our system,

(22:19):
hope that he comes back because he's only on the
one year deal, and then uh, you know, ends up
maybe being in New Orleans for an opportunity to be
there in a longer term situation. But yeah, I am
surprised they haven't. They haven't, just like you had opportunities, right,
like you know, I I hear you, and and and

(22:40):
maybe this is the and I know Mark l Folds
tours a c L who was announced yesterday. Um, but
it's the you know, the markale Folds thing, like, look,
we're gonna rehab him, we're gonna we're gonna fix him.
And what's the sense of throwing him out there before
he's truly fixed? Right? Like I get that, But I'm
surprised they've had so many opportuny unities where they haven't

(23:01):
said like, yeah, let's let James play this week. The
guy's been a starting quarterback for you know, long, long enough,
Um let's let James play this week. So I don't know,
I'm I'm really really interesting by that. Yeah, I remember
they had him as the emergency. Well I shouldn't an
emergency guy. The when Breeze got hurt against the Niners,
he was Winston who played the second half, so he

(23:22):
was the actual backup in that situation. It's not like
they'd put Taysom Hill in that spot, even though Taysom
Hill was active, and then he just served ended up
serving as the backup. And then that four game stretch, Yeah,
I didn't see anything, didn't see anything anything crazy. There's
lots of lots of crazy stuff. That to me is

(23:44):
um uh, that to me is is among the craziest
doug otlip show here on Fox Sports Radio. And and
that adds like another quarterback to this whole story, not
just the there's four quarterbacks. There's four quarterback so we
could it could be the last time playing, but then
it's the quarterback carousel which could be in full effect.

(24:07):
Kevin Clark joins this course. Uh, he writes, Kenny Kenny Clark,
I'm sorry, Kenny Clark joins us on the Doug Gotlip
Show here on Fox Sports Radio. And you know what's
what's interesting, um is here's Kenny Clark, a guy who
an absolute stud with the Packers, and I do wonder
Kenny joins us in the Doug Gotlip Show on Fox

(24:27):
Sports Radio. First time you got to Green Bay and
you you're like, I'm a Packer, I'm a first round pick.
What were the feelings like? Man? Uh? It was it
was great? Man? Uh, I mean I knew it was
gonna be cold up here. You know. Um, coming from
l A, you know, it's a different, different vibes, different

(24:48):
you know, type of thing. But um, you know, I
was just I was just extremely happy to get that
phone called Green Bay was like my first interview, um
in the combine. And when I got I mean when
I got that call, my my man, Like, you know,
that must have meant something. So it was cool. You know,
the front office has changed, the coaching staff has changed,

(25:09):
some of the style has changed, and you you've personally
seen steady growth and progression. Uh. When the coaching change
was made, the head coach, what was made? What did
what did you think? Like we all had comments as
commentators and as guys that don't know being actually a
part of that locker room. What did you think? I mean,

(25:30):
I thought it would be cool, you know, just getting
you know, somebody else in and um, you know, I
mean coach McCarthy was he was a really good coach
and did a lot of great things for us, um
and led us the right way. Um. But you know
coach of flour Man, he's a uh, he's a really
cool guy, younger guys. Brings a lot of energy to

(25:53):
our team. UM, and just allows us to allow us
like the leaders and the and the guy in the
play is to lead the team. And I mean, I
think that's the best thing about it, man. Um. And
you know, he's just a great guy, just a great guy.
So what what what did you guys learn from the
San Francisco game last year in the NFC Championship the
San Francisco game. Um, really, man, just we're gonna go

(26:18):
as far as that is the run defense get us.
I mean teams that have been able to run the
ball on this and run the ball effectively on this, Uh,
they've been they've been able to beat us and uh
and keep you know, keep of officers off the field
and keep us on the field for a number of players. Um.
And when we stopped to run and and we're able
to to let our our best players rest rust the

(26:39):
pastor we have, we're able to get out the team. So, uh,
you know that's the biggest thing. Yeah, that that puts it.
That puts a lot of pressure on you. I mean like, look,
that's that's basically what you're there for, right, That's why
you got the big contract. Is that's what you're there for.
It felt like the Tennessee game, at least two fans like, look,

(26:59):
you can't get a better power run game than what
they have with Derrick Henry. Should should we use that
as Okay, this is a reason to have even more
belief in the Packers. I know it's not the same
style as what San Francisco did last year or or
Minnesota has done to you guys, but how important should
that Tennessee game be for all of you guys to
have confidence of what you're doing. Uh? It's huge, man, um,

(27:21):
it gives a lot of confidence. Um. I mean I
think really since after that coach game, we've been really
you know, coming home as a defense, as a whole
and as a run defense. Um, just understanding you know
where it's fitting all that kind of stuff. And then uh,
you know that Titan game. I mean they run, they run,
you know, the same similar you know, stretch schemes and

(27:42):
his own schemes. You know that Gary Kopier ran with
the Vikings and uh the Senate hand system and in
our in our team actually, so um, you know they
did a lot a lot of the same stuff. Man. Uh,
you know it gave us a lot of confidence, you know,
stopping and running back like that and being able to
name him to not of yards wherever you get Kenny

(28:02):
Clark join us. The Doug Got Lip Show star nose
tackle for the Green Bay Packers, number one seed in
the NFC. Aaron Rodgers, I know he said to everybody,
or he just said it, you know, to local to
local people afterwards in the you know, you have the
press conference afterwards on Zoom and he said, you know what,
what did you tell guys on the bye week? And
he said, don't get covid? Um? Okay, So how like

(28:22):
that's actually a big thing. How safe have you been
during this week off? Man? I've been being saved. Man,
just been in the house, you know, watching some blotching,
a little bit of film and playing the game. Uh,
just chilling. I mean I'm at a point right now.
My girlfriend's pregny right now, so, um, you know, I
don't really have nowhere to go. Green Bay. It's not

(28:45):
I love Green Bay, but it's it's not a spot
where you know, people going out and all that kind
of stuff. Um, it's pretty chill up here. So um yeah, man,
I've been standing in the house just killing. We got
something special going on in Green Bay right now, and
I hate to too, to lose the game, um, or

(29:05):
or just jeopardize my teammates by not being out there
because you know, I was going out and and doing
something stupid, or or I just woun't hand in my business.
How far long is she? She's six months now, six months.
It's like that's like real, that's like human being in
there kicking inside. Boy or girl or do you do
you know? Oh girl? Yep, girl. Um you're not doing

(29:26):
like a female version of your name, are you right?
Like that's yeah, that's you are doing that? Yeah, said
did you when you went through the names? You're like, look,
it's gotta be something for me. Or were you, Yeah,
that's what I gotta be. Gotta be some something for

(29:47):
my name, for sure. I like I can, I can,
I can get behind that, and I like that you're
telling people like, look, it's that this is what some
people are afraid if you tell somebody their name, they'll
try and talk you out of it, right, like, ah,
you should have gone with Familia or something like you know, like, no,
this is this is good. Um, what's it like to
watch the other side of the ball? I mean, you

(30:07):
have one of the best quarterbacks, is not the best
quarterback to ever do it. You got a wide receiver
who you know, Aaron Rodgers said, like that you had
the best season of the best season of any wide
receiver as as a guy who like, look, you guys
have to do it's a different but to sit there
and watch what they're doing to the rest of the league.
What's that like, man, Um, it's it's crazy, Like offense

(30:28):
is so explosive. Uh, it's it's it's amazing to see
you know, you got you know DeVante, he's having the
greatest season I've ever seen. Um, you got Aaron, you
know both Aaron's you know, balling out. Um, you know,
they're so explosive and then on top of that the
time possession um that they how they can control the

(30:48):
ball each and every game. Um, we go out and
we're fresh and um it's it's just it's just it's
just amazing to see, you know, to see how you know,
everything is clicking and you know, you when you got
when you got a running game, and then you got
somebody with the challeng of Aaron Rodgers being able to
throw the ball. Uh, it's tough to stop because you know,

(31:09):
you don't know who were really keying on. And then
you got a great receiver and Davonte um, you know,
speed outside with with NBS and those guys and Ropertuney
doing this game. So uh we got we got a
lot of great weapons. You know that I love to watch,
you know, and I'd love to watch those guys ball
um and you know they keep us fresh as a defense,
like like like it's like a video it's like a

(31:30):
video game. You know what's interesting There are so many
people that are critical. Brian Goodencome's general manager for drafting A. J.
Dillon has had a good year and obviously drafting Jordan's love,
but there is something too, Like by not drafting defense
in the first round, doesn't it tell you guys, hey, look,
we actually believe in you guys. You know, the same
thing with the young wide receivers. Everybody said they needed

(31:50):
a guy, but like, okay, but you know, Alan Lazar
is a good player. You know, we guys that are
young guys. That whereas if had you draft another guy,
that becomes another mouth defeed and it hurts their progression.
Was there any sense of that when you guys first
got together, that that, yes, the outside world is talking
about who we should have taken, but it actually says
that they believe we have enough talent in this room. Yeah,

(32:15):
we've been hearing that all year. You know, we should
have got a receiver, We need a defensive linemen, we
need this, we need that. Um. I mean we feel
like we were very very talented, talented team. Um and
UM I mean upstairs, you know, they they obviously think

(32:35):
that we that we're a very challenged team. Um. You know,
I think we had seven, seven or eight Pro bowlers
in the Pro Bowl this year, So the challenge is there,
you know, and and nobody ever you know, uh, way
away from that. You know, we we always knew that
we had talent um and you're just seeing everything just
just just click this year. But we definitely heard all

(32:56):
that noise um, you know, during the off season and
even during like you know, during camp, during season a
little bit. But um, I mean, I mean, I don't
really hear nobody else talking about it. But yeah, it's
it's it's funny. You guys won thirteen games last year,
twelve in the regular season. You're going, uh, you won
thirteen games this year, and now you're in the number

(33:17):
one seed and suddenly nobody's questioning the draft picks. Last thing.
You're not just a so cow guy, You're an I
E guy, right, And for people don't understand in an empire,
sam berno rialto. It's in the summer. It's a good
hotter than in l A, right, and and the win
in the winter, you might get a little dusty, little
wind or whatever, and it might get cold at night,

(33:37):
but cold is like forty okay, So so like the
coldest day, the coldest day in my life, and I've
lived in the East Coast is when it's like fifty
degrees in California. Because you're so used to it when
you go out there next week. Are you used to it? Like?
Is it? Does it feel good to you? Yet? I
wouldn't say I'm used to it, but um well, I

(34:01):
would say I am. I am used to it. I
still hate it, but I am used to it. But um,
I would say mentally, I think every I think everybody
that we played hated way more than than we do
because we don't play. I mean, you know, they don't
play in every day, they don't practicing it every day.
So I would say I'm used to it. But what
keeps me going is just knowing that our opposing team don't.

(34:24):
I mean they hate it. I know they hate it,
and uh, I love seeing when they when they run outside,
everybody tried to put their shirts off and and and
all that kind of stuff and try to make it
look like they're not colde. But when they get in
the game, you know, they don't want to touch nobody,
don't want to graft close, they don't want to do
nothing that uh because you know, you know it's cold
out there. But I just I used to work with

(34:44):
with with with Greg Anthony at es at at ESPN,
right and now he's obviously with TNT, and he used
to he hated the cold, and he used to leave.
Have somebody have a p a go and turn on
his car a half hour before the show was over
and have it running and I'll heat it up. Who
who does that? There's gotta be some in the packers'
is like that that that they have to have their

(35:05):
car heated. And somebody turned out before they ever even
hit the hit hit hit the door. Uh probably probably savage.
He for sure he got he got the heater on
as soon as he uh soon as soon as the
plane is landing. We got our away game, you know,
he got the he got the car heat ready to go.
Hey hey, Kenny Ketty, Uh, congrats on uh the impending

(35:29):
baby girl. That's that's awesome. Enjoy your weekend off and
watching ball, playing video games and hanging out with your girl.
And we really appreciate you join us. I appreciate it
all right. That's Kenny Clark joining us and the Green
Bay Packers get to the press up coming next. Fox

s R to listen live Doug Olive Show Fox Sports Radio. Uh,
let us get to the press, the press representative buyer
of Wisconsin Dan what he have Doug. Tonight in the NBA,

(36:10):
the Nets are set to take on the Sixers. We
know that Brooklyn is gonna be without Kevin Durant because
of health and safety protocols. Kyrie Irving now not gonna
play tonight because of what the team is saying our
personal reasons. The line has moved from one point five
to uh plus four. I can't I mean, how can
you not take Philly here? Right? Yeah? I mean when

(36:34):
those two guys are out, I just wonder if the
personal reasons are in response to what happened yesterday in Washington,
d C. Or if they are for other personal matters
for Kyrie Irving. And I know personal reasons none of
my business, but I just didn't know if there was
a correlation. Well, I would say this that in Look,
Kyrie obviously is used social media. Um, he doesn't want

(36:55):
to filter. He wants to If if that's the reason
behind it, then he should come out and say this
is why I'm not playing. I don't necessarily understand that logic,
Like you can be really bothered by all parts of
what's happened over the past two days, the ruling and
the decision and from the kenosha u d A to
not press charges, or the storming of the capitol yesterday.

(37:16):
But like you know, I mean, if that's why you're
not playing, which again I don't actually understand, but Kyrie's
different catman, and Brooklyn has allowed him a lot of leeway.
If if those are the reasons, he should come out
and say it's such. I believe Doug Yahoo Sports is
saying the Lakers are hoping to work out a plan
to be honored at the White House later the season
for their NBA championship. No NBA championship team has taken

(37:40):
a White House visits since the Cavaliers in when President
Obama was in office. It's crazy, right, It really is
interesting that no one, uh and that's and and look
there we've had individual players decided to do so to
to not go on these trips in the past when
President Obama was there. Now you're seeing entire sports and

(38:01):
that obviously will change with with Lebron and the Lakers
when they when they make their make a trip to
d C or if they're anywhere close, maybe in Philadelphia,
that whole thing is is fascinating. Um My Cake has
always been even when Donald Trump was in office, that
those guys should have gone. I think you should go.

(38:22):
It's you're never gonna get that opportunity again for many
people to forget about just take the trip, but have
an audience with the President of the United States. That's
a powerful thing to me, and I think kicking that
away is a mistake in my opinion. In an unrelated
related story, Burger King got a new logo today. Did
you see this? Yes, they kind of went with a
retro look for Burger King's new logo. They had a

(38:46):
circle logo with like the burger uh you know, Burger
King kind of you know, in between the two buns.
Now they're going back to kind of what you saw
in the you know, in the seventies and eighties, more
of that sort of Do you see the Mets new
logo on their hand? No, I should take a look
right now. Yeah, go take a look right right now.
You're I'm it's um like old school on on hats,

(39:12):
or at least that's what I saw in the you know,
they superimpose them on it. Maybe class they superimpose us
so I don't know if that's what they're going to
because I thought they're there. NY logo is classic. Yeah,
it could have been a prototype or could be a
spring training cap. You know as as well that that
could be an option. In just an update, Steelers are
going to only allow friends and family to attend their
Sunday night playoff game against the Browns. Team says a

(39:34):
new state order allows a maximum people in the stadium,
including players, coaches, and support staff. So while the Bronze
will be short on players, the Steelers once again will
be short on fans for Sunday night's game. Bag it
out there? Impressed? That was the press. Buy a real quick, Okay,
I got an hour until the game? Yes? What should
I do? Or dash in Madison the Navy? Gritty's two

(39:57):
blocks of block away basically yeah, just getting pretty burger. Yeah,
that'll be gritty burger. Yeah, uh, anything special on it?
Lots of cheese, right, just sure, mayonnaise, mayonnaise, mayonnaise. It
feels it feels like a mayonnaise crowd stug gotleep show.
