(00:28):
want you Doug ot Leap Show, Fox Sports Radio. I
hope you're having a wonderful day. It's a Thursday. We're
a couple of days route from the true beginning to
Championship week um, which is awesome. The Doug Gotleap Shows
live from Farmers Insurance. Fox Sports Radio Studios called aid
eight farmers to switch and you could say big on
your auto insurance. It's really the best thing you can
do with your phone. In just a few minutes, just
(00:50):
called a to eight farmers to start saving today. We
are farmers. So the news of the day is that
big Ben route Sburger. He lowered his cat and number.
He took a little less money, took a little the haircut.
I'm gonna stay with the Steelers. This dude like, we yeah,
we got bad even though we know he's not that
good anymore, but it could up some caps phase they
(01:13):
kicked some of that money down the road not to
pay that tax later obviously the salary caps going up,
that you couldn't get him retired, and and and just
go away. He wants to play, You didn't have to
cut him when you just get crushed in the cap.
It makes some sense. Here's Bucky Brooks, though from the
NFL Network, who joined us earlier, talking about Ben Roethlisberger's
(01:34):
new contract. I mean the issues are fissible if Ben
Roethlisberger is okay with them playing the way they need
to play, meaning less Ben Roethlisberger, more running game, more
relying on the defense to set them up. If he's
okay with that, they certainly can win a ton of games.
Because remember this is a team that went out to
eleven and old star at in age. He can't do
(01:56):
everything on offense. Mean he can't throw with forty plus
times with all these deacons done faster is because that
offense can't work, can't sustain itself. So if they rebuild
it where they're going to commit to running the football
and letting the defense set up the offense for sporting chances.
They still can be a very very portable team in
the a f C. I think you can do it,
(02:18):
but they have to have a by the end from
being Roethlisberger. Then this is the way we're going to play.
When you came back, you signed on to play this way. Well,
I think that's what the meetings were, the discussions were
before they got to figuring out the contract. Remember, they
hired a new offensive coordinator, a guy who uh a
(02:41):
lot of a lot of priests that movement, a lot
of running the football, a lot of play action, and
he had to be all in on it, he said
he was. He had to take less money, he had
to be all in on it. He was, And they
have to be in on getting him more weapons because
Bucky's right, like he can't carry it at that age anymore.
That's really It's like we're talking about Lebron James. Bron
(03:01):
James is great. I can't carry a team anymore, not
to an NBA Finals. Can't do that, not in the West,
not the finals, not at thirty six, No chance. You
gotta get him. And the differences here they're trying to
manipulate that cap and figure out how to keep him
and then kind of salary some all that stuff makes
total sense to me. My fear, though, is that, like
(03:22):
we're like, well, Ben Rossberg wasn't a good last year,
What makes you think he'll be as good as he
was last year when he gets a year older. The
only thing I can think of is it another year
removed from him being an insurgery and he'll have more practice.
But Ben Rothsberg usually doesn't practice outside of just leading
up to prep the game. And yeah, yeah, most guys
(03:42):
don't get better as they get older. They get worse
as they get older. That's what father time does. Like
is he a better? Are they on a team with
a better roster than say the Cleveland Browns? And the
answer is probably not. Now the Browns issues are gonna
be Can they um uh? Can they deal with success
(04:05):
the way they dealt with failure? It's a big question.
The Bengals are gonna have They still have to. There's
no cohesion. The coach and coaching staff barely survived. And
remember that Joe Burrows coming off a torn a c
l how mobile was he? How much of his old
self will he be early in the season? And then
you have Baltimore who you know that they were made
(04:27):
to look a lot more average last year, and they
have some work to do. They gotta figure out what
they do with their quarterback long term in terms of
a contract as well. So it's not like the Steelers
are the only team with issues, and they've shown that
this is how they're going to manage this issue for now.
But that doesn't actually make make them better, doesn't actually
(04:48):
make them better. What do you think, Gavin when when
I when when Ben Roethlisberger resigned, what was your reaction?
I you know, I applaud him for take in the
haircut he needed to, but that roster, you know, they
got off to that eleven and no start last year
and then it all went downhill. I don't think you
(05:09):
can trust Ben's arm I just and then you know
they're gonna get worse with losing the center. I mean,
how crucial is Marquise Pouncy too to the whole Steeler
run over the past ten years or so? Only Um,
he's he's important, but he's been a shell of himself recently.
I think most people would tell you that right that
he's not the same guy he used to be. That
(05:30):
would be my that would be what I think most
people would tell you. So you have a lack of
a running game, You're probably not gonna bring back James Conner,
do you know? You have great wide receivers otherwise, so
that's not as big of an issue. But that's a
tough division. And I don't know with It's tough because
I always thought that their best move might be to
trade for Sam Donald, and I think that is safely
(05:53):
out the window now. Um, I've always thought of Jamis
Winston is a good fit. But this offense is is
going to be different than the old offense that they
that they used to use. Um, So I I don't
I don't know exactly. I don't know exactly what it
looks like. If I'm being totally honest, I don't have
a great feel for what it would look like for
(06:15):
for Ben or for Jamis Winson or forever. I also
think that there's gonna be he's going to be forced
to mentor somebody. Right, he may not want to, but
he'll be forced to mentor somebody And once that's going
to be the truth. Has he really evolved as a
person since when they last drafted Mason Rudolph I don't
(06:36):
think Mason Rudolph is the answer. I don't think anybody
thinks Mason Rudolph is the answer. But but it's more
about um. They had to work out all of the
different intricacies, and Hey, if you're gonna come back, we're
gonna have a new offense. If you're gonna come back,
we're gonna have a new center. If you're gonna come back,
you're gonna have to mentor a young guy. All of
these things will have to be done. And maybe if
(06:57):
things go bad, they'll have the plan. Whoever you're gonna mentor. Ultimately,
they're gonna take your position, and you gotta be okay
with that. If you can do all of that, let's
get to the money. And then they got to the money,
and then they got the money. That would be my guess,
my more than educated guests on on how exactly it
(07:20):
went down. Be sure to catch the live edition of

call a day Farmers to switch and you can save
a bundle on your auto insurance. Uh call big college
(08:50):
basketball game stunt. I got Utah State Wyoming. That should
not be a close one, but it's a must win
for Utah State at home. UM. And then there's there's
Baylor Oklahoma State. You guys see in Oklahoma State played
You guys watch Kate Kenny Emmy at forty on Saturday.
Not as many points on Monday in a win against Oklahoma.
But you know, like I've watched these other NBA prospects,
(09:12):
those guys are prospects. He's a player. He is is something.
He is something. I guess here's the question, Isaac. Do
you think the n c A Terman thing is changing
in terms of the days? Right? They moved it back
a day and starting on a Friday instead of a Thursday.
So you'll have first round games on a Saturday, and
(09:32):
then you'll have second round games on a Monday, not
just on a Saturday and Sunday. Do you think they'll
be What will the hype around the n c A
tournament this year as opposed to usual years. It'll just
be different because of the pandemic, because part of the
charm of those first days of the tournament was playing
(09:52):
hookey from work or not paying as much attention to
work to follow those early round n C Double A games.
So I think it's gonna change because we're all working
at home, fortunately those of us here in the line
of work where we actually get paid to follow those games. Yeah,
I think, I mean, I think there'll be a lot
of talk like that, but I just I don't feel
(10:14):
like they'll be the same sense. Part of it is
nobody knows who any of these kids are, you know,
and and the brand name schools are not particularly good.
That's a good part of it, so um uh. But
I also wonder, so I think that they're not having
(10:36):
some of the national names, not having a ton of
kids who you know who they are, because so many
of them are gone or transferred to whatever. And I'm
trying to indict how good these players are. There's just
a there used to be a hand know that kid, Hey,
I know that team. You don't know the teams, you
don't know the players you know. There's there's no familiarity
and so there's no reason to get you. But then
(10:58):
you learn about the underdogs who beat the big name team,
so you'll still have some of the underdog things and
some of that. But I just don't feel like it's
gonna be What about you, Gavin, how much do you
think the world pays attention to it? I think they're
going to be excited because it's actually back. You know,
we had a year off and uh, I think that's
that's where the excitement's gonna be. But it'll be different,
for sure. I do think it being back is is
(11:20):
a is a big thing and is a good thing,
completely and totally good thing. Big thing. Got it, Ramos?
What about you? Oh, I would definitely excited. March madness
is like you said, it's a one time when everybody
who doesn't even really care too much about college basketball
gets it involved. And just I think it's gonna be great.
(11:41):
I'm looking forward to it immensely. Look, it's gonna be
It'll be a lot of fun. I and I think
that mom with Gavin there where it being back is
a big thing, and I think the first day, but
then they'll get into the We'll get a lot of
other stuff going on, like here's what else is working
against it? Good weather works against it? And if it
(12:04):
I haven't looked around, but I know we had that
that real bad cold cold snap. But I've I saw
like Herb Street tweeted today that he was in Nashville
six degrees. If the weather is decent. People have been
locked down, they're gonna get out. They just are right.
They're gonna get out and about and and go and
(12:25):
do things that they haven't been able to do. Like
I'm looking at at Iowa City because I have to
go to Iowa City on Sunday sixty degrees, six degrees,
and you know, if you look at the ten day
forecast after that does not get does not get below
forty five, which you know for us in California, like
really let of forty five godly, but in the snow
(12:50):
bound states, right, Like if you're in Chicago, for example, right,
say you're in Chicago and you look outside and over
weekend it's sixty degrees and you've been locked down and
everything has been closed down things are Are you gonna
stay in and watch a ball game? I don't know
the answer that My guess would be no, You're gonna start.
People are already starting to travel, Like I'm actually a
(13:13):
pretty good gauge for this stuff because I've traveled so
much and in the previous two months when I've been
on the road, there's nobody at airports empty. They're not
yet back to being full, but it's definitely people are
definitely traveling again. So I think there's some other things
that that are going to hurt. The the number of
(13:34):
people that are are watching. No brand names, not a
ton of association with the names. Who are the big names?
You know, you gotta half the freshman went to the
G League thing or something else altogether. Um, the fact
that the Thursday is being changed now Friday. It's a
little bit different and people are gonna be traveling. Get
(13:57):
out about now? Will that make bar is like? Yeah,
there'll be people go watch this thing in bars where
they if they can, where they couldn't previously, so they'll
there'll be some good turn out there. But it will
give us an unreal sense. My guesses it'll hurt because
we've been watching these canned games for a long time.
The only difference obviously is the bracket. Let me get
(14:17):
this something I heard last night. Take a listen to
James Harden after the Nets game last night. I'm excited
and we we gotta win. We've been playing a very
very good basketball and to puish our strong like this,
to do and all sort of break means a lot
to us. You know, Hopefully we can get guys healthy,
Katie and Jeff TLC. You know, after the break, keep
just trained and as far as you know, playing in
Houston a lot of mixed emotions for the fans, but
(14:41):
you know, I knew that was gonna happen. I just
wanted to come out here and give him a show
at was you know, Hopefully I did something right. Obviously
I came up short of a championship, but the work
one and off the court that I put in over
those past eight years, you know, was elite. Obviously. I
think that's the only thing that I didn't do it
or didn't accomplish this the championship, which is difficult to
(15:04):
you know, obtain. But as far as you know, bringing
excitement to the city, you know, taking care of fans
on and off the court is something that I try
to contribute. So hopefully, um that outwaghs that I do
think the positive outways a negative. I think that's a
mature way of looking at it. I know that like yesterday,
we're like ah, you don't retire his number. He left whatever.
(15:26):
I do think at some point you have to take
a breath and go like, maybe we won't retire it now,
but let's just kind of figure it out as we go.
And I think that's that's reasonable, completely reasonable that the
longer it gets, the more we're like, you know what,
James Harmon was the hell of a player. He was
(15:47):
not perfect. He did not play good enough defense. He
did not win this championship. He did not get us
to the NBA Finals. But man, this is a league
which is designed to entertain you every night. And if
you're in, if you're into the James harden thing, and
I never was into the James Harden way used to play,
he was pretty entertaining. Be sure to catch the live
edition of The Doug Gottlieb Show weekdays at three p m.
(16:07):
Easter noon Pacific. Let's welcome in vance Joseph. He's the
defensive coordinator for the Arizona Cardinals and oh you got
a little president for his new defense is j J.
Watt signs with his team earlier in this week dance
How are you? I'm good man, thanks for having me?
Um Okay, So there was. There was lots of questions
over where j J. Watt was going. When did you
(16:27):
feel like it was going your guys way? Well, I
felt I felt good about it, you know, about a
week ago, you know, I wasn't. I wasn't, you know,
quite sure. It's it's always hard to kind of predict
those things with the money and you know, obviously a
chance to win in a person, all those things, you
know are considered. So I wasn't sure if he was
(16:48):
going to be a cardinal, but I felt I felt
ok about it. That's about you know, three weeks off,
just talking to j about our defense, the guys we
have around him, and you know, just obviously it's a
it's it's a young team that's close to being a
a a real contender in my mind, you know, and um,
it was a good fit, you know, So it worked out.
(17:09):
Everyone's excited to hear the fans excited, how players are excited,
and obviously as a as a coach, I'm excited to
coach j J. Again. Vance Joseph joining us in the
Doug Otlib Show on Fox Sports Radio, you mentioned coaching
JJ again. You go back to two thousand eleven to
two thousand you were in Houston, he was the best,
(17:30):
the most dominant UH player in the league when when
he was with you. How is it? I just I
just wonder, is it gonna be difficult for you to
evaluate how you use him? Considering he's still good, but
he's not that JJ. This is just it's a different
it's different. How hard is that for you to adjust
how you use him? Yeah, it won't be hard, you
(17:52):
know when you want. When you watch Jay last year,
I mean he played over a thousand stamps and he's still,
you know what's very disruptive in a running past game.
He was still winning one on ones, you know. But
the issue he had last year, you know, he wasn't
one on one of a ton of times. I mean
he was, he was double team most of the time.
So it's my job to kind of free j up
and get him one on one. And if I do that,
(18:13):
he will win, you know. And obviously being a three
or four defense and having Channel Jones on one side
and a sign ready hopefully on the other side, they
can't they can't double a defensive end, you know, with
that configuration. So hopefully if everyone's back, you know, I
can I can get j J one on one versus
cards and and uh you know sometimes tackles obviously, and
(18:36):
he can win those matchups consistently. But last year in
Eastern Man, I mean he got doubled an awful lot,
you know, it being a four down front and also
being uh you know, him being the only soul rusher
on that front, so insider outside that's what everybody wants
to know. Well, uh, I would say both, you know,
I would say I would say, you know, primarily probably
(18:58):
inside with again channel of Jones and hopefully a son
Reddick band outside. Um, you know, hopefully inside. But he
has rushed on the edge again. And that's gonna be
weekly game plans, you know, if we can, if we
can find a soft spot in the front and to
get J one on one, I mean he'll you know,
he'll be an as rusher. If not, we'll put him
inside on guards and centers and lets let him win there.
(19:20):
But it's gonna be weekly game plans as far as
finding a soft spots in the front and um, you know,
allowing Chandler, allowing him to have their best matchups weekly.
But he can, he can, he can still play, you know,
I mean, he's played a thousand snaps last year, which
is a lot of snaps, you know for a guy, uh,
you know, playing this ten year. You know, hopefully you know,
he plays as many snaps, maybe less, but he can
(19:42):
still win one on once. He's still playing hard. And
outside of him still being a great player, he's a
great leader and he's a great example for our young
players here. And that's that's part. That's part. It's work.
It's worth gold, you know. And you know Dave's personality,
he don't want to just come to be a leader.
I mean, he wants to be a dominant player. And
I text him about a week ago outter, Hey, man,
you know, your leadership and your example is gonna be huge.
(20:04):
He said, stop, I'm coming to dominate, you know. So
he wanted me to know, you know, yeah, he'll lead,
he'll be an example, but he is coming to be J. J. Watt,
you know. And that's that was fun to hear. Um. Yeah,
I think it's fascinating because when you sit here and
you realize how much you both evolved, right, You've got it.
(20:26):
She has to be a head coach in the league.
You're different, your view is more developed. He's seen the good,
he's seen the bad. Uh so he's he's more it's
a it's gonna be a little bit more mature relationship.
Whereas like you're like, look, I I got you, but
I got a man. I gotta manage you. Okay, Look,
you had seven other free agents on that defensive side
of the ball. It needs to be. Here's the question.
(20:48):
I haven't asked you in persons. I asked you on
the radio. You know, one of the things you gotta
have is congruent offenses and defenses that the complementary. Excuse me,
that they work together. And Cliff's offense has evolved some
obviously since he's gotten to the NFL. How much of
how you plan to change this defense and make it
better has to go in line with how he's playing. Absolutely,
(21:10):
I mean it goes hand in hand. You know. Coach
is an up tempo I mean, he's he's a fast
paced offensive guy, you know, So it's my job to
play that way also, you know, so it's it's our
job on defense to get him the ball back quickly,
you know, so he can go do his thing. And uh,
you know we have we have sped it up. You know,
we've been a pressure team on first, second, and third
(21:30):
down to make things happen quicker, you know. And if
teams are going to score, they're gonna score quick, you know.
But we're gonna take the ball away and force you
to be bringing out to get the ball back to uh,
you know, coach. But it it definitely has to go
hand in hand, right. We can't be a bend, don't
break defense. And he's a fast paced offense, you know,
and that's understood. We like playing that way. We both
(21:50):
like playing that way. So it's fun for our players.
It's exciting, it's aggressive, you know, and that won't change,
you know. I mean, he has the ability to score
points quickly on people, you know, and we can we
can pressure and take the ball away and force reinouts.
That's gonna allow to win more games. So we have
we have come to the conclusion that we both have
to play fast, that it's gonna work. And um, you know,
(22:12):
last year at work, it worked most of the time.
You know, we didn't finish you know, quite well, you know,
in the last month of the season. But um, coming
back this year, going into our third year with the
same players, man, they should get a lot better. We're
excited about it um or either YouTube. Recruiting Larry Fitzgerald.
I mean, that's a that's a no brainer, you know.
(22:32):
You know, Larry has been a great player for a
long time. And just like JJ example in the leadership
they bring to you. You know, your team every day
is is worked gold and those guys still can make plays.
You know, if if they couldn't play, the example in
the leadership part wouldn't wouldn't mean as much, but they
can still make place they can help you win. You know.
So when you can acquire Hall of Fame players, you
(22:55):
know that are Hall of Fame people, it always makes
your team a better football team at the end of
the day. So you know, we'll see. You know, nothing's
been said with Larry Yett. I mean he's he's kind
of winning his options and waiting it out, you know,
so we are all waiting around for that. But he
is he is. He is definitely an A plus person,
an A plus player. Yeah, I know, he just gotta
go meet him out in the golf. You gotta to
(23:16):
play him. You gotta get somebody who's the best golfer
to play him. Playing around you know, you can't play
his favorite course maybe get a couple of strugs and
if you win, he has to come back and play. Well. Well,
I'm telling you man, he is. He's a really good golfer.
So on our staff that golfer man that exist, you know,
so we got to figure someone else to play him
in golf, but he is, he is definitely valued here.
(23:39):
How do you build you know, one of the things
that everyone said was lacking where j J used to
be is culture. How do you build the right culture?
I think I think culture culture is really built through players.
You know, you know players, you know, players bring the
culture and players carry culture. All coaches are are preaching
(23:59):
the same thing. Be great teammates, you know, be on time,
let's work hard, let's be a great team. But play players.
You know, players drive your culture and players carry your culture.
You know. I think I think Steve Curson is about
the Warriors about two years ago. When you're when your
best players are your best people, that takes care of
your culture, you know, So having a j J, having
having a you know, fits back. Maybe they are great people,
(24:21):
get a great great workers, they're on time every day,
they're doing things in a community. So when you're when
your best players are your best people. Man. Culture is
really easy to capture, you know, but it's spread and
it's handled by the players, not by coaches. And it's
our job to bring players into this programs that can
carry the culture, you know, uh, you know, especially a
(24:44):
winning culture. That's that's what's important. But that goes through
the players. First as a defensive guy, but a guy
who's been in this league for a long time, a
player yourself, Um, what do you think about the growth
of Kyler? You're one to year two? I thought it
was I thought it was huge. You know. Obviously year one,
I mean he came in the league year one, and
(25:04):
it was, you know, whirlwind for a guy. You know,
I meant, the protections didn't seem right for the pro game,
like he had to manage a bunch of things. But
but but he stood pretty firm, and then this year
there was some wow plays and they got bang absolutely.
I mean, his first or second year, it was it
was a big jump, and it's gonna be a bigger
jump from the second or third year. You know, we
(25:26):
didn't have an off season last year, you know, so
for Kyler, for all of our rookie draft draft choices
and it went right from you know, playing you know,
playing their first year of playing in college, right so
NFL season, So that part hurt a lot of you know,
young players last year. But having off season this year,
being his third year in the in the offense, you know,
having having hopped you know, from the off season to
(25:47):
the season, that's gonna be huge for Kyler. I'm telling you, man,
he made some place last year that were really, really,
really unbelievable. And he's such a talent as forest throwing
the football. Obviously, his his his quickness and his running
skills are always on display. But his arm, talent, his accuracy,
his love of the game, his his will to win.
That's that's gonna short more often to share in my opinion, Vans,
(26:09):
great stuff, man, you sound great. You sound helping us,
sound fired up, ready to go with this football team.
You still got it the other ways, the ways they
gotta put it together for you and Kimes gotta draft
some more for you. But I appreciate you joining us
in and your candor on Fox Sports Radio. All good man,
thanks for having me. All right, that's Vance Joseph defensive coordinate,
former head coach course of the Denver Broncos. Um um
(26:31):
anyway for for former head coach of the of the
Denver Broncos and um, I think a guy who this
is gonna be a big year. Of course Patrick Peterson
has gone. We'll see. There's there's an older player, a
little bit overpaid, a little bit over, a little bit
over the hill that they parted ways with and they
brought in a J. J. Watt. And the question would
(26:53):
be J. J. Watt if he's single team, can he
dominate the ideas you have Chandler Jones on one side
and J J on the other. Be sure to catch

crom what you got? And Bouche by the way, a
member of the Writer's Wing of the Pro Football Hall
of Fame, and our first item here on the press
actually also has to do with Pittsburgh, albeit at a
(29:06):
different sport. The Pittsburgh Penguins posted a photo on their
Twitter feed of fans in the stands at their home
game on Tuesday. Everyone of the picture was wearing masks,
following COVID protocols. However, some sharp eyed social media users
(29:26):
noticed something amiss and they did some digging, and it
turned out that that image is different than the original photograph,
which was taken by a wire service called Getty Images.
So it turns out that a Penguins social media staffer
photo shopped some fans, one who was not wearing a
(29:46):
mask at all and two others who were not wearing
their masks properly to make it appear that everyone of
the picture was complying with COVID protocols, and the Penguins
actually told The New York Post that they wound up
disciplining that's social media staffer, saying that although the staffer
was perhaps well intended, they should not have manipulated the
(30:09):
photo of fans who were not following the penguins in
arena safety rules and addendum. One clever individual, commenting on
the story on social media replied, give the penguins a break.
It's hard to use photoshop when you have flippers instead
of fingers. Man, okay, So were these real fans that
(30:31):
were in the stands that weren't wearing the masks? They
were real fans, but in the original picture, three of them,
we're not doing protocols. One didn't have a mask, the
other two have their masks on improperly, and the staffer
photoshopped masks on the three fans of about I would
say fifty to a hundred that were in the picture.
(30:51):
And did everybody else have have a mask? Everybody else
in the picture did? Yeah? Comparing the original to what's
I understands, what's what's the issue? Like? I actually think
that's great. They're not like mask shaming people. I don't
understand what the issue is. Either I think it's innocent,
I think it is too job or loser job. They
were disciplined. I mean, what exactly, what exactly is commensurate
(31:13):
discipline for doing that, having somebody check them into the
boards or something. Don't you ever do that again? Don't
you ever do that again? Okay? Uh, tweet something out
about the bank. Let's given any what's what's the password? Oh,
you're not gonna give me the password to the Twitter handle? Okay,
I guess you can work here. I agree. I I
(31:34):
just don't see how this is some grand conspiracy. How
are you gonna wear masks for Isaac? I was thinking
about this earlier today, and you know, I think I
think my rule of thumb will be after my kids
get the vaccine and whether that's right. Yeah, whether that's
right or wrong, I don't know. I'm just a sports guy.
(31:57):
What do I know? You so you're playing on your
kids getting the vaccine, But yeah, when it's available to them.
I mean, I have the benefit, dug of people generally
not wanting to be around me in the first place.
It's always helped myself and my wife are vaccinated inoculated,
(32:19):
that is correct. I love inoculated. I think I love
the word of oculation. I've view that term a lot inoculation. Um, Gavin,
what about you March No, I just picked a random day. No,
that is a day that I can I can kind
of sign up and see if I can get the
vaccine myself. And uh yeah, after that's completed, the second
(32:42):
doses in, I think the mask is gone, my friend. Yeah, yeah,
I'm excited to get it as well. I walked into
a restaurant today, I had the mask on. Nobody had
the masks on. The restaurant was like, wait today, did
I go back in time? Would I go forward in time?
Everybody else know what's going on here? Everybody here? And
I sculated ironically. On on March six, the Penguins will
(33:03):
be tweeting a photo of Gavin wearing his mask. But alright,
next item, we'll pull this one from the National Football League. Ah. Yes.
Cleveland Brown's quarterback Baker Mayfield says that he and his
wife might have seen a UFO last night. He tweeted,
(33:26):
almost one, we just saw a UFO dropped straight out
of the sky on our way home from dinner. Very
bright ball of light going straight down out of the sky.
Unquote no word yet if the aliens just wanted to
meet the quarterback who was finally able to get the
Browns out of the playoffs. It's really interesting here. This
(33:49):
like mass conspiracy theory. You know, over if people have
seen do you believe Isaac? You believe in UFOs? I
hate to say it, but I do. Okay, so you
think he saw UFO. Sure, how come they haven't made contact?
(34:13):
Maybe ain't no better. Maybe one of them was upset
that he caused their fantasy football team on you know,
three to lose or something. I don't know, Gavin, do
you want to for a why they haven't made contact
or why is he so clandestine? If there were UFOs,
if we had evidence, I think our last administration would
(34:34):
have spilled the beans on that. Yeah, they can't just
be honestly, that is true. Like, look, we're here and
we're gonna do everything the opposite about what everybody else did.
A matter of fact, we're gonna tell you that there
are UFOs and we have them in New Mexico. Porn

Chili Peppers. Wasn't there a minor league baseball team that

Business Journal reporting that the NFL currently targeting the second
week of May for its one schedule release, which would
make it the latest schedule release in NFL history. The
delay trace to uncertainty about the pandemic and fans and attendance,
and also whether there is officially gonna be a seventeen
game season or not. Yeah, I don't. I mean, I'm
(35:40):
not a schedule released, guy, I'm not not doing old
school in New York. That's a that's a win. That's
a loss. The loss that's a dog. That's a win,
and that's a loss. Every time the Jets played the
played the Patriots, right, it's a close game, the Patriots
win dog. Anyway, I don't care. Here's something I'm not.
(36:03):
I care about you and I care about the story.
But in terms of the actual re least date of
the it's smart to be prudent to push it back.
Whatever the whole seventeenth game will have to do with
the new TV contracts. So you're not gonna do uh
an eight hour special that day, breaking down the NFL
schedule team by Let's see the Jacksonville Jaguars play. That's
a loss. It's lost. That's a loss. Now this kind
(36:27):
of fits into the whole NFL scheduling perspective and interesting
NBC News reporting that Lackland Murdoch he is the CEO
of Fox, Lackland Murdoch indicating at an industry conference earlier
today that Fox will not be keeping it's Thursday Night
football package. Murdoch said, quote, we're getting towards the end
(36:47):
of this negotiation. We're still apart on a number of
issues in respect to Thursday Night. The most likely scenario
is just keep Sunday unquote. Now this would uh serve
to reinforce an i'd him that we relayed yesterday that
a significant number of games on the Thursday Night package
expected to be broadcast and streamed exclusively on Amazon Prime
(37:10):
and not on TV at all. M hmmm, come on, man, Um,
I mean, look, we knew streaming would get into it eventually,
and um, I think everybody else is kind of tapped
out for money, like we gotta spend two billion dollars
to keep the Okay, I guess we can't do Thursday.
Thursdaynight football has been a money loser for everybody, and
(37:32):
Fox obviously paid more money than CBS and NBC did combine.
I think it helped the local news whatever, but eventually
you knew Amazon, Netflix, Hulu, somebody would buy it, and
looks like they have. Not a surprise, he Doug. Actually,
one quick item that just came down of Villanova announcing
Colin Gillespie torn mc L in his left knee, expected
(37:53):
to be done for the rest of the season, just
came down. Obviously it's bad news, but MCL better than
the A c L. That's that's the only positive, only
part I can point to in terms of being better
than just the awful news when we saw him get
hurt last night. Yet well soon Colin. He's been a tremendous,
tremendous ambassador to college basketball, backing out there and pressed
