(00:28):
you thought the blowouts were a thing of the past
in the NBA playoffs? Uh uh, not so fast, my friend,
the Phoenix Suns put that theory to rest last night
demolishing the Denver Nuggets. We dive into that and so
much more. College Football's playoff looks to be expanding and
the biggest myth that there is in the NBA. Today's

Hollins with the Quick Turnaround was in last night on

(01:12):
Fox Sports Radio on The Jason Smith Show with Mike
harmen Is. He and Mike were hanging out during the
Sun's Nuggets game, a game that ended one twenty three
to eight in favor of the Phoenix Suns, who go
up too oh, and the best of seven series. So
now you've had kind of twelve hours to digest this
this game, Ryan, looking back at last night, what surprised

(01:34):
you the most? Was it the efficiency of Chris Paul
the dominance of the Sons, uh, the lack of dominance
from the Denver Nuggets. Now that you've digested and the
Suns are up two oh, what is your takeaway from
what we saw Wednesday night. I thought this was gonna
be a seven game series. I did not think that
the discrepancy between the Nuggets and the Suns was this

(01:57):
far away. Now, granted, I didn't think the Sons will
beat the Lakers. He went out Anthony Davis. But the
factor they are putting Pauls. They're putting Pauls on the Nuggets,
and normally when a guy gets crowned with the m
v P Award, you feel good. You're excited, you're pumped up,

(02:18):
and what what it? Coach Mike Malone say, I played
for coach Mike Malone. Look like once he wants to
be here. One team didn't want to be here. There's
a certain energy, damn. And I'm looking at with the
sons that I'm vibing with, I like, you gotta vibe.
It looks like they're excited to play, they want to
be there. They've got championship aspirations. If I'm sitting in

(02:42):
Chris paul shoes and I'm Chris Paul, Dan, I played
with Chris Paul your later years in the league. You
know tomorrow ain't promised. He's doing everything he can to
get a championship. Dan, am I crazy fulfilling this way?
He had a plus twenty six last night is plus
night as you, twenty six points better than the Denver
Nuggets when Chris Paul was on the floor, seventeen points,

(03:05):
fifteen assists. This was Chris Paul after last night's twenty
five point demolition of the Denver Nuggets to put Phoenix
up two games to none. I feel good. I feel
really good. You know I missed some easiness early. Oh
and not. But with the way that we play is
the ball is gonna find you. We've got so many
great shooters on our team and guys that cannot only
shoot it, they can put it on the floor. So

(03:27):
we just played a way we've been playing off season long,
and that's as a team. Yeah. I mean, Chris Paul
went six and ten from the floor, DeAndre eight and
six of ten, Jake Crowter was three or four from
beyond the arc. Devin Booker a modest eight teen for
for him and he had ted rebounds as well. Everything
was going with the Phoenix Suns. But I was with
you in in part with the Lakers, Like there there

(03:47):
there were questions. I didn't know if the Sons could
close out the Lakers in a game six, and they
ended up doing so. And now you transition to this
series against the Nuggets. But but this is there's a
reason why I think that we're falling in love with
the Sons, and we have to be very careful. And
that's why I'm not falling in love with them. You
look at what's happening in the East. You see what's

(04:08):
happening with the Milwaukee Bucks, in the Brooklyn Nets, like
the Miami Heat were, well, we're such a big bugaboo
if you will, for the Bucks to get over that hump.
And you saw them sweep Miami and we said to ourselves,
different team. It's a different Bucks team. And now they're
down to oh after getting creamed in the first two
games in Brooklyn in Game three in Milwaukee tonight, really

(04:29):
for Milwaukee to try to keep their season alive, they
need to win this. You see a different, different sort
of feel with them with the Suns. I was with
you and saying, you know, even without Anthony Davis, I'm
still still not ready. The Lakers have Lebron and the Sons.
The Sons are still a young team, and maybe CP
three is gonna break down, Like there were a lot
of questions. But they beat the Lakers and now they

(04:51):
go and they take down the Nuggets, and they are
impressive in their first two games. Denver kind of gave
them a run in Game one, but last night was
a full Phoenix run. And I can understand and everybody
wants to jump on the Phoenix bandwagon, but I'm gonna
say pump the brakes on this for two reasons. Number one, yeah,
Number one, why second second straight series where they're facing
a team that is without their second best player and

(05:14):
no Jamal Murray in Denver is a big deal. Yeah,
they made it through Portland's you know, poor Portland can't
stop anybody. We know how bad they were, you know,
one of the worst teams in the NBA when it
comes to defense. Denver got whatever they wanted against Portland,
and they could. The Lakers didn't have Anthony Davis. And listen,
I'm not a Lakers guy. I'm not a Lakers fan,
never have been. But this series changed when Anthony Davis

(05:37):
went out. We it changed in Game four when the
injury happened. After three games, everybody thought, just like you
and me, Lakers are gonna win this series. A d
goes down, the Sun's end up on it going on
a run. The Nuggets survived, get through Portland, but they
don't have Jamal Murray. As soon as Jamal Murray went
down with the knee, injuring the regular season, the Nuggets
title hopes went out the window. M v P or

(05:58):
not so. So when you don't get to play these
teams when they're at their strongest or with their ultimate strength,
you have to be a bit weary. And that's what
makes me worry about the Phoenix Suns is it's not
about their point when last night it's really who did
they beat and overmatch Lakers team even with Lebron and
now a Nuggets team that really desperately would love to

(06:20):
have Jamal Murray as a part of it, He's not there.
Denver does not have nearly enough firepower to match Phoenix.
That's why I'm saying, hold on a bit with the
Phoenix Suns. Here. Here's the thing I'm I'm with you.
I like the energy that I'm saying no so often
it's the Arnies. Joanna said he didn't want to play
with his food in the first round. Well, the Nets

(06:42):
aren't playing with their food. But when you come out
and Dan, maybe I'm maybe just just the player in
me ten years of experience, when you just do what
you're supposed to do. I value it. When you step
into a game with an underhanded team and you're at
home and you take care of business, I value it.

(07:05):
And don't get me wrong, the Phoenix Suns are in
a situation even if Jamal Murray was there, that they
are attacking the heck. They're attacking the heck out of
Nicole Yokitch in the pick and roll. This is a
bad series. If you can't switch pick and rolls and

(07:25):
get out and keep length and size on Chris Paul
and and keep a body in front of DeAndre Ayden,
You're You're cooked. You're cooked. And guess what the Nuggets
are cooked? But how much? How much do you think
that the Nuggets know that they're cooked without Jamal Murray? Oh,
they fill it now because Chris Chris Paul is, Chris

(07:47):
Paul is controlling tempo and the way Dan jump in
anytime that I'm wrong, and you disagree, the way that
Chris Paul is dismantling them, with the spacing that the
Phoenix Suns have, the way that Jay Crowder is shooting
the ball, the way that Devin Booker is shooting the ball.
Now you can't help. And you got a slow footed,

(08:08):
unathletic m VP of the league on his hills with
the rim, running DeAndre eight and coming down the teeth
of the defense. So Chris Paul is getting Chris Paul
will not I played with Chris will not miss a
mid range jumper, and he's getting any mid range jumper
he wants. And he's gonna milk that thing to it.
Ain't it ain't there no more? Okay, And that's why

(08:28):
the Nuggets don't have If you're gonna be the Iron
need to meet. And I don't know, Dan, if I'm
if I'm just bugging. I'm looking at the east of
the Western Conferences, specifically in the West, and I three
see center dominant teams Phoenix, Ut Tall, Nuggets. I don't
know if it's a recipe for a championship, but it's
looking like some early successes there. Yeah, there's a lot

(08:50):
of changes. I mean, you can even go Joel and
Beaden in Philadelphia go on the other side of the
bracket if you wanted. Brooklyn doesn't doesn't have it. Uh,
Brick Lopez is a nice center for the Bucks, just
not one of the their their top three players, although
the times they need him to be a top three player.
But there's yeah, there's there's something to it. And your
point about playing with Chris Paul. The other thing that
I've always heard about Chris Paul is and it's interesting
and hear him, hearing him say what he said in

(09:12):
the sound by it is Hey, you know when things
are going the ball just tends to find you. The
thing that I've always been told is Chris Paul is
not gonna pass you the ball unless you are going
to make the shot or be uh in a position
to make the shot. And if you aren't going, you
aren't getting the basketball. That fair like that. Listen, listen,

(09:32):
Chris would all due respect. You know, it's funny they
accused Russell Westbrook of stat padding. He's stat patting, all right,
he's playing for stats. I think Russ just plays. But like,
there's a level if you want to accuse Chris of
stat patting. He ain't gonna get a turnover, bro like
or like you said, like he's not coming to you
like he will hold the ball and shoot her off

(09:54):
the back bar before he gets a turn over. And
some guys love it. Some guys that's kind of the
knock that you know, when I played with Chris, some
guys in the locker room were frustrated in the sense that, uh,
you know, he would. He would. He's not gonna give
you an early past. He's gonna make sure he gets
his assist. And Chris is just competitive. That's why he
controls the game. But you know, some may frown upon that,

(10:16):
you know, I I don't know, Dan, is that stat padding?
I don't, I don't. I don't think I ever looked
at it like that. I just look at it taking
care of care of the basketball? Does Westbrook stat pad um?
I think the rebounds are when he's the only one
around the hoop and there's there's four guys and it's
like calling the pop fly and the left fielder's calling
everybody else off. That's what I feel like Russ does

(10:38):
sometimes sometimes with the with the rebounds. So so I listen,
there's a manipulation that can go a lot of different places.
I mean, is it fair that you thought Jazz, you know,
ran nine million picking rolls with Carmelon and John Stockton
every single time down the court, so Stockton gets the assist.
Maybe some people think that, hey man, what's you know?

(10:58):
What's that like? So there it goes there awhere. But
I do think sometimes they can get bloated. But you know,
in Chris Paul's case, yeah, you're not gonna get it
if you're not going to do what I want you
to do with the basketball and what that's that may
be the most amazing thing about this, But I want
to connect it to something that that that you said
as well about this team is this is a young team.

(11:18):
This is a team with a young center. This is
a team of the young star and Devin Booker. Yeah,
you bring a Jay crowd of the veteran who played
in the NBA finals last year with the with the
Miami Heat. You've got some pieces there. But Cameron Payne
is young, Chris Paul is trusting these guys. He's trusting
and they're they're having success. But I would say this,
if they run up against the Brooklyn team in the
NBA Finals, I think everybody's siding with Brooklyn. If they

(11:40):
go up against the Clipper team in the Western Finals,
I think people are siding with the Clippers. If they
go up against the Utah team in the NBA Finals,
maybe it'll be a little bit more split. Or in
the Western Conference finals, maybe a little bit more split.
But I think you're gonna get some people looking at
the Jazz saying, look at the Jazz. They just took
care of the Clippers with Kauai and Paul George. I'm
writing Utah on this run. Whoever Phoenix faces after this

(12:03):
Nugget series, I would take a guest to say that
they aren't going to be favored, or they wouldn't be
a favorite in the NBA finals. And that's why I
just think we need to take a step back with
what they've done. Great stuff so far, as you said,
they've accomplished what they've needed to accomplish, and maybe I
shouldn't take away from that, but to put them on
the fast track to NBA title and Chris Paul being

(12:23):
the m v P and this and that, slow down
just a little bit and let's take a look at
what Phoenix really has done in these playoffs, and that's
beaten two squads. You didn't have their second best player
when it mattered the most. Be sure to catch the

him here on Fox Sports Radios or NFL Insider, also
on Sirius Sex Salmon Inside the Birds podcast. Adam Kaplan

(13:28):
joins us here on Fox Sports Radio. Hey, and I'm
going to talk to you. How are you guys gonna
talk to you? I hope you're doing well as we
get through this month of June and see what else
is next to the National Football League. You know, I
I get this, I get this sense. And obviously we're
gonna start out with Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers.
And we know he doesn't show up for for Mini camp.
But for what Jordan's love has had to go through

(13:49):
over these last couple of days, is it fair? Is
it unfair? Is it just part of the you know,
comes with the territory when your first round pick comes
with the territory with the quarterback. I just kind of
feel like we're we're starting to venture an unfair territory.
How do you analyze or feel how we're looking at
Jordan's Love and especially these first couple of days in
mandatory mini camps. Dan, It's funny because if you see

(14:11):
what's been out there, one day, it looks great, the
next day he's terrible. And and with Rogers out there,
with Rogers not out there, he's getting all the first
team reps and he's he's getting all the scrutiny. So yeah,
it's look, it's gonna be like this because as they
finish up their mandatory camp there, all the talk is
going to be now about Rogers obviously as we lead

(14:31):
up to training camp and whether he shows up or not,
and then if he doesn't show up or not, you know,
if he doesn't show up and then they want up
trading him, uh, the general manager in the quarterback, They're
gonna be tied together. There's no there's no question about it.
This move by Brian Goodicus to draft I'm Jordan's Love.
In the way that they handled Aaron Rodgers Good He's
done a great job. He's really good GM, but you

(14:53):
know what this one is on his record here and
the way it was handled, it's something that is most recent.
And as we talked about last weekend, how about Mark
Murphy the president. Uh In it's Q and A for
the team website talking about how this Roger situation has
divided the fan base. Dan, you speak about a divided
fan base, but I want to know in your experience,

(15:16):
and it's odd we almost have to look to the
NBA for stars wanting in demanding out in the NFL
with Jalen Ramsey have kind of adopted this same way
of thinking. But how ugly can this thing get? How
ugly can it get? And and play out? And we
seem so mud kind of thrown, you know, on both sides.

(15:36):
You know, Aaron Rodgers, you can you can play Jeopardy
all you want. We're not letting you out here. And
Rogers doesn't want to be a part of it. How
ugly can this Packers situation get? Ron? You know, it's
a former NBA player, the players and at last five
to seven years of the leverage. It seems like just
about every situation where we're playing a contract structure with
NFL players is much different, um, and they're almost year

(15:58):
to year contracts and all all Aaron Ryders can do
is withhold services not show up, and they could pull
what Carson Palmer did, the threat of retiring. And what
if you do that if you say, listen, I'm retiring
from the NFL. There's there's what he does is he
goes on the retired list and his money, his contract
is held up, and that's that's where it goes. Now.

(16:18):
They could go after a signing bonus if they want,
but that's how it could get ugly. I mean, you
can see what the lines have done with Calvin Johnson
trying to get his trying to deal with his his
signing bonus since he retired, so um, they can make
it ugly. And by the way, they could find him
nine dollars for missing UM. The mandatory o t A

(16:38):
s here now in training camp. The mandatory finds are
not in the ten of thousand, third the millions if
he misses all training camp. So it's it's the it's
really could get really ugly. It's ugly now, but could
get hideous if if he does not show up to
training camp. Adam kaplan joining us here on Fox Sports Radio,
It's the Doug Gottlieb Show. He's Ryan Hollands out Dan
Buyer sitting in for Doug today. There was another quarterback

(17:01):
this offseason that made a few waves, but maybe those
waves have settled. That's Russell Wilson, who did take part
in the team's voluntary O t A s this week
the Pacific Northwest haven't heard from Russell Wilson. But I'm curious, Adam,
is everything that kind of went on like right after
the Super Bowl? Is that now like water under the
bridge and the Seahawks move forward or is there any

(17:22):
explaining that Russell Wilson will need to do now that
he's uh at the team's facilities. Yeah, Dan, here's what happened.
So they met with Wilson after the season. Um, they
told him, you know, they made the Pete Carroll made
the change at the coordinator. Broden China, Brad Schottenheimer and
Pete Carroll had major philosophical differences, I'm told, and it

(17:43):
comes over the filosophy of the offense. The last year's
offense is we talked about the beginning the season what
I had heard they were going to come out for
rowing and the first half of games be very aggressive.
They were starting with the Atlanta game, and by the
time we got the mid season, for whatever reason, the
passing offense is more in servative. They started to rely
more on the run game, and I know Wilson started
turning it over, but the Packers excuse me that the

(18:05):
Seahawks thought that defenses were playing differently, more covered to
try and take away the deep ball, and they just were.
They really were pound on the run game, and Russell
Wilson started handling the ball too much, and Peakyle wanted
to change and he made that change. So you fast
forward now and what they've done is they're going to
an old school West Coast offense and Russell Wilson signed

(18:29):
off on it. Shane Waldren comes from the Rams where
he learned Sean mcveigh's offense and talk for the Seahawks.
They think this is really gonna help Wilson get her
of the ball faster. But from Wilson's standpoint, he really
wants to the offense to go for for the past game,
not the run game. That is where there's a philosophical
difference between from Wilson to Pie Carroll. They can all
talk nice right now, but there are no games now,

(18:49):
we're in June. Let's see what happens during the season,
because I'm telling you the second half. We know that
Wilson didn't play well. But the reason why Wilson's agent
gave some reporters the teams that he would be willing
to be traded to because he's got he has a
new trade clause in his contract. He wanted it out there.
If this doesn't improve, we're going to make a tough

(19:10):
one you. That was my read on it. And yeah,
it's it's settled for now, but this could read rear
Charlie Head And I had a general manager tell me,
uh not too recently. He thinks that this won't get resolved.
And he thinks that Wilson is gonna want to get
and traded because and I agree with this, Pie Carles
always gonna want to run the ball. That that's just
the way he is. Hey, cap, I've I've talked with

(19:30):
several I'm former NFL guys and they're not too big
on the Julio move. It's not moving them. They don't
think to an extent it makes them anybody. They just
don't believe in the Titans defense for one. Uh, they
don't believe in Tannehill, they don't believe in the offensive coordinator. Um,

(19:51):
I'm looking to you for some positive news. Though. Does
this make them better at all? To what extent? What
can we expe actor? I mean? Am I Are we
all the crazy ones for thinking this is a good move? Yeah? Ryan,
they think the Titans think that Jlio Jones is an
upgrade over Corey Davis. Corey Davis sound a pretty significant
free agent contract. He had been a former disappointment as

(20:13):
a first round pick for the Titans, and they didn't
even make him an offer to leave. He's that they
just wanted to move on and they brought Josh Reynolds in.
But Josh Reynolds will be their third receiver. Jolio Jones
will start opposite A. J. Brown. But I would agree
the defense is the problem. The offense is not the problem.
But they certainly had to do something else at receiver.
They did that defensively. I think they have a chance

(20:34):
to better than last year. Clowney was a bust. He
was awful, so was Vic Beasley. But they bring in
Cable Farley, bud Dupree coming back with his torn h C,
although they think he's a head of schedule here. Jeffrey
Simmons they think could be a breakout player in his
third year, former first round pick, they had Generics Jenkins
to the secondary. They think they're gonna be better. I
think they're the best team in the a f C South.

(20:55):
But are they a super Bowl bound team? No. I
don't think their defense is gonna be good enough. Offensively,
they have a chance to be really dynamic because you
got Jlio Jones in the primate's career, he should have
a couple of years left in him. And you've got
a J Brown who's a terrific player, only in his
third season, and he got the run game, you know.
Tanny Hill. The thing about Tony Hills people criticize him.
He only throws the ball thirty times a game. He's

(21:17):
he's bottom five and pass attempts per game because they
run the ball so much. So he's still Look, he's
a guy that last year threw for over thirty touchdown passes,
so still gets the job done. All right, I'm gonna
leave you with this edam kaplan. Were you actually excited
when the preseason schedule was released with the official dates
and times today, Like, does does that get you excited

(21:39):
when you see like an official schedule? We knew the matchups,
you kind of new the dates, but it officially came
out as an NFL and Center, Does that get you excited? No?
But you know what you know, want to get excited
when teams announced their training camp dates, that that means
I'm going to put my training camp schedule. Uh done
within forty eight hours. I stay up like it. It's
like I feel like I'm studying for final exams. I

(21:59):
just start booking trips like crazy. And unfortunately the gas
prices are off as we know. But uh, I can't
wait to get back to training camps. Man. I'm sure
our spots in the weekend will be at some other camp.
So look forward to getting on the road again. That
that will be fun and and likely in full stadiums,
and all the packers just that they're gonna have full
stadium even on their family night, so it should be fun.

(22:20):

Dan Buyer. Yeah, it's it's it's gonna be great for everything.
You know, baseball is getting back. We see full NBA arenas.
When when we get the full NFL football stadiums, that's

(22:40):
what's gonna be great. It's it's going to be a
magical feeling. Ryan, to see seventy thousand people screaming after
a quarterback makes a bad throw, that is that is
what I am looking for. Get Ryan on Twitter at
the Ryan Hollins, I'm at Dan Buyer on Fox the
NBA going back to the way that we knew it
order to catch the live edition of The Doug gott

(23:02):
Leap Show week days at three p m. Easter noon Pacific.
We just found out within the last hour that the
schedule for the NBA season for next year is likely
to return to the normal schedule that we are used to.
Uh Sham's reporting for The Athletic that the end of
the NBA season will begin on October nineteen. Playoffs would

(23:30):
start on April sixte with the finals beginning on June two,
and then ending on June nineteenth, with the draft a
few days later. The NBA getting back on schedule. But Ryan,
this now means another abbreviated off season for the NBA.
Are we going to have the same concerns in issues
that we heard people complaining about this year next year

(23:52):
now that we're gonna have a bit of a shortened
off season as the schedule is back on track. Well,
we we very well could. But here's the reality. Now,
last year really really penalize the Miami Heat and the
Los Angeles Lakers, and we saw it. They both had
first round exits, okay, and in all reality, it's likely
going to penalize whoever the champ is is this year.

(24:14):
That's just part of it. You had these abbreviated seasons,
or or you make a long run into the playoffs
uh to the finals, which is why you have to
have a lot of respect for Lebron James for being
able to do so, or even just making it to
the finals. But is it a need to worry or
complain or make a fuss about No, Like you gotta

(24:35):
get back to normal. That's there. There's someone, there's a
a medical doctor, nerves somewhere, someone working a real job going.
I don't want to hear this mess from you. Guys,
get back out there and work, make your money. But
They're not buying any excuses. Man, I just I like
where we are right now. Like, like we're sitting here
on June tenth, and we're in the middle of the

(24:57):
NBA playoffs. Normally we'd be waiting for a game four
maybe of the NBA Finals around this time. I I
don't mind it. I actually liked how And I know
it's a different I know it was seventy two games,
wasn't eighty two games. We started two months later than normal,
and now we're extending it by a month, so a

(25:18):
lot was crammed in at that time. But I like
how this has gone, at least what the playoff wise,
Like in the summer there, it's exciting to have games
that you want to watch and and get people together for.
Like I really thought that the NBA would analyze and
look and say, all right, what do the December start
do for us? What are this moving back into the
summer do for us? But now for them to just

(25:40):
to get back on track, to me, I guess they
just never really seriously considered it. But as a fan
and as someone who is a multi sport fan who
we all look forward to football season, we all love
football to have a shorter bridge from the NBA season
to the NFL season. To me, I think it is
great and I actually like it. I'm I'm surprised that

(26:00):
it went this quickly that the NBA is already turning
its back on maybe keeping a December to July or
at least the November start if you wanted to figure
out something to July for the season. Because I actually
think that the way that this playoffs played out was
actually pretty good for the fan. Well, you have to
take this into account. There's a college basketball season which

(26:21):
just can't be moved around too much because they had class.
You have the w n b A which you don't
want to step on, and there's just a synergy within
the basketball world that works around the NBA working you
know in the NBA. Fortunately, you know, didn't have to
cancel like the n c a A. You know, it
was good. I covered college basketball the last two years,

(26:43):
being able to have a Final Four in the middle
of COVID, So you know, you you're gonna have to
take these rough patches to get back on track. And
like I said, keep in mind, a lot of people
lost their jobs, a lot of people didn't get to
come back you know, so the NBA has gotta get
things back moving. But I hear you. The less you know,
miss time or spaced out between, you know, the more

(27:05):
we we we want to look selfishly, Dan, what you're saying,
we want NBA and NFL all year long. H Yeah,
that's great. I mean great, you know what we plus
we get a little breathers. You talk about March madness
in college basketball, Like, I don't even pay attention to
the NBA in the month of March just because you're
so focused on the tournament and what's going on with
college tubes. It's a nice little breather. But then you

(27:25):
pick it up later on and and and like it's
it works out, really, it just it works out well.
The NFL season being expanded now even kind of gets
it to that part with the the extra regular season game.
It's it's all coming together. I just wish the NBA
would do their part. And I'll say this and you
would know more about this than I do, at least
in this off season. I think it's gonna be difficult

(27:48):
for certain guys. If you're one of these teams that
are continuing to play to expand on your game. I don't.
I don't know how many guys got better last offseason
because you were basically just trying to rest and recover
and get ready for the next season. You know, I
look at someone like Janice. I mean, if the Bucks
get bounced in the next two games, you'll have a
little bit more time. But to be able to work
on a jumper, to be able to work on an

(28:09):
outside shot, can these guys do that in in eight
to ten weeks or or the two months span or
is that asking too much of these players? Well? I
know that uh Is Zion has no excuse off season.
Uh Ben Simmons looks like he's gonna play a little longer.
But yeah, you honest, maybe working on that jumper anytime,
silver Man. But you know that's a good point. You

(28:31):
know a lot of people going, you want to the
cool boy came back as the same player. Yeah, you
didn't have an off season. You didn't off season it listen, man,
it is very hard during there impossible to improve in
the midst of the season because you're not sitting there saying, man,
let me let me change my my shooting form, let
me tuck my elbow a little bit. It's like, man,
just make shots of what you can do, and you

(28:54):
can break down and refine in the off season. You
can put on some muscle, you can improve shooting, you
can do a those you know, engulf engulf. It's one
of the things where guys are If a guy is struggling,
one of the things you can say he's going through
a swing change, and everybody goes, okay, all right, I
understand that it's gonna take him a little while, but
once it clicks, once he gets through it, then it's
gonna be all right. But maybe that's why the guys struggling.

(29:16):
You don't have that in the NBA. You don't say
the guy's going through a shot change. If if you're
trying to alter something with Ben Simmons or Yatis or
someone else that just needs improvement, we are ripping those
guys night in and night out about this. It's it's
different when it comes to the NBA. These guys are
under the microscope all the time. There is no leeway
at all when it comes to fixing or trying to

(29:38):

limitations apply. Brian Fenley is at the news desk. How
are you doing, Brian? I'm doing well, guys. Our game
is I feel a draft? All right? So what are

(31:33):
we drafting today? Brian? So we are drafting all the crew.
We are going to be picking out of all the
players you are still in the NBA postseason right now,
who you would go to to win a single game.
And you can only go by the guys who are
still playing in games in the postseason. The draft the
best guys, alright, alright, and the the order. We have

(31:54):
a two round draft. I assume what's the order? We
go with Ryan first, and then Ramos, Gavin and Brian
and then back to Dan. Dan gets the last DIBs here,
So yeah, Ryan will begin alright ready, yeah, let's let's
hear it. The player you draft to win one game
in the NBA playoffs? Who is it? I think that

(32:14):
I'm gonna have to go with. I'm gonna go out
on a strong limb, a seven foot limb with a
seven six wingspan and an excellent score. Mr twin of fingers.
Kevin duran There it is. Durant is off the board.

(32:34):
Not surprising considering what he's done. However, you know, I
thought maybe Kauai could have been in consideration for this one.
But uh interesting, Kevin Durant off the board at number one.
Al Right, who's at number two? Brian Ramos goes number two? Well,
that would have been my number one pick as well.
That was who was nuber two? I don't because I

(32:58):
will take even though I'm not a Clipper's man. I
think Kawahi Leonard is definitely the guy that you I
would want out there if the game was running down
with five seconds left and he had the ball, I
think that's money shot. I take Kawhi Leonard number two. Alright,
John rams the Clippers fan taking his own guy, Kawai Leonard. Hey, man,
I know when someone's good. I'm not gonna knock him,
trust me, all right, we gotta bounce pass right to

(33:21):
Gavin Kinsel for the third selection. I'm looking for a
laker on here. I can't see all right. I'm gonna
make a head scratching moved by a lot of people.
I'm gonna say Kyrie Irving. The reason is because he's
actually won a title. There's not a lot of other
champions out there as I look down the slate, So
we're gonna go Kyrie and the sage Harry Irving. Ah, well,

(33:46):
you know, and he's hit. I mean, he had the
biggest shot in Cleveland Cavaliers history. So so that's that's
fair enough. Dan. Before we go to you for back
to back picks, I'm gonna step in and go I
gotta do this. Paul George, longtime clipper, in off to
back my guy. He is going to apply himself in
a big way. I'm going with PG. Fox Sports Radio
