Speaker 2 (00:23):
Hello, my beautiful beanies, and welcome to the bean for Thursday.
First of yesterday's news. I am Glenn Hart and we
are looking back at Wednesday and I'm going to exercise
my freedom of speech on this podcast and other people
are too. It turns out the number of heads that

(00:44):
we are bringing weapons to schoolers gone up. We need
to panic about that, and a c d C back
on tour. But before any of that, so Trump dropped
their bomb yesterday. That's That's all cool, isn't it. That's
pretty cool.

Speaker 3 (01:03):
Who did you ever think in your life that the
that the sea bomb would be throwing around Parliament?

Speaker 4 (01:09):
I certainly didn't. I thought you might work up to it,
maybe an f borm before the sea bomb. But yeah,
that was quite a moment.

Speaker 3 (01:14):
But it's not just those to the to this, you know,
to the right of the Parliament that are doing it.
Also the Labor members of Labor just swearing all over
the shop.

Speaker 2 (01:24):
I'm sorry, what was the unparliamentary upist?

Speaker 4 (01:27):
Would something I should have skipped under my breath, we'll
just tell people.

Speaker 2 (01:31):
Like parliamentary I shouldn't have said that's the standard of
the Labor Party.

Speaker 3 (01:40):
So in the early two thousands, would you ever imagine
where that just swear words. I believe back in the
day that if someone swore like that it would have
a I guess an effect on their chance to be elected.
But now it's fine. Anyone can just go for you
go for your life.

Speaker 4 (01:55):
So imagine Helen Clark Trump in the f Born or
the sea bomb for that matter.

Speaker 3 (01:59):
The question is how soon are we allowed to On
New Storks he'd be We're getting closer. I know that
host Garing's throwing out the s h I T bomb. Yeah,
just all of the shop. He's just spraying it.

Speaker 4 (02:09):
Everyone loves it, absolutely loves it.

Speaker 3 (02:11):
So it's a slippery slope to the sea bomb on
Afternoons radio.

Speaker 5 (02:15):
Do you think, yeah, well we're getting there. It's a
crazy old world that I certainly hope not.

Speaker 4 (02:19):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, me too. But that was for not
I mean, that was incredible what Donald Trump said. And
I've got to say you can hear the frustration in
his voice, and part of me thinks, politicians you want
to see genuineness and you want to see them being
real people.

Speaker 6 (02:33):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:33):
I don't approve that kind of language. I mean using
the word genuineness. I think that's a word, is it?
Come on, come on, Tyler, you're better than that.

Speaker 1 (02:46):
Used talk.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
So anyway, it sounds like people are kind of fine.
Because when you watch it, Trump like he's just completely
lost his call and doesn't even know what he's saying anymore.
That's the worrying thing, not so much that he actually.

Speaker 7 (03:07):
Used the f on.

Speaker 2 (03:10):
But anyway, it's all fine. Everything's fine. Oh yeah, just
look what I was having a NATO It's all fine.

Speaker 6 (03:17):
So what's happening As NATO leaders are gathering in Brussels
right now, they're expected in the next few hours to
agree that they will all lift their spending on defense
to five percent of GDP. Now that is huge given
that right now some of those countries, for example Spain,
are spending as little as one point three percent of
GDP on defense. And the more important thing here is

(03:38):
that they've completely ignored an agreement that they will made
back in twenty fourteen to spend two percent on GDP.
They are now agreeing to more than double that. Now
some of that to be fair and to be realistic
about the situation. Some of that, quite a lot of
that will be because Russia is freaking them out right.
Since twenty fourteen, Russia started doing some pretty crazy things

(04:00):
and they realize that they need to up their own
defenses to protect themselves. But some of it is also
because they can't rely on Trump anymore, because he said
they can't reliant on him any more, and he told
them to buck up their ideas and if they didn't
lift their spending, the US would be out of NATO.
Just cast your mind back for a second to how
the world reacted when he said that. Countries were alarmed.
Analysts warned it would blow up the Alliance. People thought

(04:23):
he was a complete lunatic. Actually, when we look at
it now, he's been effective. Spending has been lifted. Now
I realize it's a strange time for him to be
proved right or one front, when we are smack bang
in the middle of another Trump drama on another front
where he is using again very unconventional methods to try
to get a result. Now, who knows what's going to
happen there? Who knows if his unorthodox behavior is actually

(04:43):
going to work with Israel. Israel or Iran, we don't know,
but it certainly has with NATO because look at the
results today. He was right and their spending is now.

Speaker 2 (04:53):
Up because he's bullied them into increasing their spending. Does
that mean that he's right or that his bullying has worked.
If the bully gets his way, does that make him right?
Maybe Quos talks and I am allowed to say stuff
like that because of freedom of speech. I don't worry.

(05:16):
I'm not intending to roll around in milk, though I
don't know what's happening.

Speaker 5 (05:21):
Yesterday it was a bunch of chicks in bikinis rolling
around in cow's milk, trying to make a buck on OnlyFans.
Did you see this story? The police were called. Somebody
called the police. Yes, I kid you not. Couple of
lasses bikini clad making some wholesome down on the farm
country style content and safe gets involved. There's your first problem.

(05:46):
Then MPI gets involved and MPI contacts police. What on
earth are the police going to do with two girls
one cow? Who on earth would they arrest? Anyway? Some
might say the cow was lucky to be milked. Besides,
what is more indecent? Girls in bikinis or the naked cow.

(06:07):
The answer, of course, is rather simple. Police will do nothing,
MPI will do nothing because there's actually nothing to do
anything about. Same goes for Brian and his gang of
thugs to be fear to him and to them. I
didn't pay much attention and free didn't pay any attention
to them at the weekend because I was enjoying my
long weekend, too busy, having a good time. But from

(06:27):
what I've read, we had some flags burnt, we had
signs waved about. People are calling for hate speech, laws
and restrictions on speech, all sorts of stuff. Guess what.
That also won't happen, and nor should it. The bar
for criminal charges is rightly high. In a situation like this,
people must be free to air the views, no matter

(06:48):
how distasteful or wrong they might be. Boils must be lanced,
so long as they lanced peacefully. Besides, you don't have
to look far into the World section of your newspaper
this morning for a glimpse at why we should value
freedom of expression. Russia, Iran anybody as for the utterest,

(07:09):
as long as as the cows not being misteated, I'm
here for it.

Speaker 2 (07:14):
Wow. Panorama Wednesday yesterday, by the sounds of things. What
if we can make that a regular feature? Come on,
who Doesn't Love Her? Not just one pun but just
a whole series. No, Ryan, I never thought that you
had it in here. Yeah. So freedom of expression, a
freedom of speech, saying whatever you like, this is all great.

(07:39):
Probably we need to draw the line somewhere, maybe not
let kids take weapons to school. Probably that's a good
place to draw a one line.

Speaker 7 (07:47):
Anyway, given that there are different punishments as a result
of bringing a weapon to school, these figures are just
an indication. They don't tell us anything. So I would
love to hear from you. What do you do when
you have a child who is being tormented, not just bullied,

(08:12):
but tormented and assaulted to the point that they're can
cust They have skull fractures, they lose teeth. It's boys
and girls as well. I could have given you some
girls ones, but I was running out of time. You know,
do we need to pat down the kids on arrival?

(08:32):
Let's go make them hand and their weapons along with
their cell phones. I addressing the broader issue of bullying
in schools. Well, good luck with that, because there's been
bullying for as long as kids have gathered together in
one place at one time, as long as adults have
gathered together in one place at one time. What's happening

(08:54):
in the Middle East can be seen as a form
of bullying, But trying to mitigate the harm that angry,
fearful people can do to one another would be a
very good start.

Speaker 2 (09:08):
Just I ever came to taking a weapon, the score was,
I used to have a switchblade comb, so it looked
like a switchblade knife, but then when it popped out,
it was just a comb. I feel like that might
have got taken off me. I mean, I was never
going to use it, never comb my hair when I

(09:29):
was at school. I just screw it.

Speaker 1 (09:32):
News Talk zip.

Speaker 2 (09:33):
Bean and while we're talking about people in school uniforms,
Angus and the crew back ACDC akadeca on tours sounds fun.

Speaker 5 (09:46):
Did you watch the footage of ac DC?

Speaker 8 (09:49):
Godness may that looks sad, isn't it? How old are they?
I watched the video terrible. The fans are saying, give up,
you're too old. Anyway, this video got about the foot
about the concert and him in the shorts. Angus looks
terrible and Brian Johnson's singing, but you can't hear him

(10:12):
because his voice is gone. But yeah, angus young and
in the shorts, looks like he shouldn't be on stage.

Speaker 6 (10:20):
What would you say?

Speaker 8 (10:22):
I mean, they haven't changed their act to look more
dignified with age. He probably should have given up on
the whole schoolboy thing a while ago, because it kind
of looks he looks like an old guy in pajamas
at the rest home. I don't want to sound ages.

Speaker 2 (10:36):
It does sound a bit agous. Yeah, the school uniform
thing is weird, so I'd never really thought about it
that much until now that he probably is. Probably shouldn't
be wearing a school uniform once you're not at school anymore,

(11:00):
and certainly not once you've past retirement age. I wouldn't
have thought because might be. I haven't watched the video.
I just want I just want it. I just want
at d C did in my mind to be in
their prime, So maybe I will. I'll try and avoid

(11:21):
watching the video. I think I am a glen had
I don't think I've ever worn a school uniform since
I left school.

Speaker 5 (11:31):
I couldn't wait.

Speaker 2 (11:34):
To leave school not wear that anymore, and I never
have to think about it ever again. And then of
course I had kids, and then they we'd just called,
and then I found myself back at school because of them.
Oh I see, I've repressed all these memories. Now they've
all come up, and now I feel stincd. I'm gonna

(11:55):
have to go off and take a few deep breaths now,
and I'll do that, and I'll see you back here
again tomorrow.
