(00:00):
Thanks again to everybody who came outlast night and uh joined us for our
night out at the Spy Museum. That was a fantastic time. And I
really want to thank a Fua andAmanda. And I know that there are
apparently in order to work at theSpy Museum, your name must be Amanda.
(00:21):
There's one hundred of them. Buta Fu and Amanda have been awesome,
uh to deal with in putting everythingtogether, Like they got us the
Pendring, they got us obviously theexhibit. Well, I mean they got
the exhibit for themselves, but accessto the exhibit to do it at a
time where it was just us,that's it. Yeah, you almost felt
(00:43):
like you weren't supposed to be inthere. Yes, you looked around and
you're like, these are all thepeople from our from our get together.
Yeah, like okay, I knowwho that person is, and I know
who that person is. There's notanybody here that I don't know. That's
awesome when you when you you werein that exhibit and you realize it is
just us, and like one,for example, one of the things that
(01:07):
you can do in this exhibit isthere's a there's a sea do that you
can sit on and it's from it'sfrom a Bond movie, and you can
sit on it and you can takepictures and stuff. I would imagine that
on a regular day there's a line. Oh god, yeah, not last
night, right, I mean literallyeverybody, everybody got on the thing.
(01:33):
It's awesome. I didn't realize thatyou were allowed to hop up on that.
Did you flip out when Kristen wentrunning up there? Well, I
had her go up for a photo, but I saw our winners on there
and everything else says like please donot touch. Yeah, right out of
the corner of my eye, Isaw them up on it, and I
(01:53):
was like, oh my god, somebody get an Amanda. But why were
you? But why were you coolwith Kristen doing it? At that point
it was explained to me that itwas oh, oh, oh my god.
I wanted to make a cool boomerangbecause christ is like, well,
how should I move on this thing? And I said that you have more
experience with off road vehicle than Ido. The but let me start.
(02:15):
Let me start at the pendry.Well, first, let me start with
the winners. The winners were awesome, The winners were great. Everybody was
kind, everybody was friendly. Youhad people in tuxedos and an evening gown.
The Michelle, right, and thenyou had the and then you had
(02:36):
the couple where he's he's he gambleslike he's a he's a poker player.
And her pants had holes all upand down him. They were great.
She also had the cutest little bellybutton ring. Anyway, the oh it
wasn't the the the card gambler. He brought us the double O seven cards.
(02:58):
How cool is that? Right here? Yeah? Yeah, here,
let me see. But he boughtus playing cards because we discussed three eleven
and all of their offerings, sohe said, let's time together. But
he bought for everybody. Yeah, but he bought four decks of cards.
That's really nice. And then whowas the who was the NASA lady says
(03:23):
that's Michelle, who was with herhusband who was in the full text.
Oh, that's right, that's rightexactly. I don't think we were supposed
to say her name. The butyeah, look at all the NASA stuff,
it's like I'm supposed to thank TSSsomething or other. I hope it's
on here. Yes, Joint PolarSatellite System program, uh huh. And
(03:50):
the Near Earth Orbit Network or NEON, you know how she introduced herself to
me. I know, I'm notAmber, but she was awfo. They
were both very nice. They wereboth very nice. I love that he
wore a tuxanis now and that takesa commitment when you know it's gonna be
ninety degrees. Yeah, and hehad a vest on too. Yeah.
(04:13):
Yeah, that was hot and Iloved it just the same. But my
three eleven card friend, he hadon a bloodline shirt from w And when
we left the Pendrey, there wereother guests there at the hotel who were
saluting him. Be the ones.I mean, that's gonna win over a
crowd if you don't have a tuxedowear a wrestling shirt. But then there
(04:35):
was the Then there was a guywho brought me and Haley would agree one
of the biggest joints we've ever seenin our life. Amazing. But all
the all the winners were great. All the winners were great, even the
guy and I was iffy on him. The guy from Charlottesville who was like,
I'm gonna take off the day, will be there. Sure as hell.
He was there, and people camefrom the first people I met last
(04:57):
night. Came from the Eastern Shore. Yeah, that's awesome. No,
it's great, and told me thegreatest greatest listeners in the world, the
Eastern Shore. A couple they toldme Ocean City, I will have a
blast. It's awesome. Oh good. Oh that's right for when you're going.
So they were headed there this weekend. Yeah, no, it's great,
greatest listeners in the world, greatestlisteners in the world. Thank you
did. How the view, ohwell, I was gonna say, everybody
(05:17):
at the Pendry was very nice theview. If you've not been to the
Pendery, it's down so like Thrasherand t Etnt are down on one end,
closest to like the fourteenth Street bridge. Down at the other end,
or almost towards the end of theother end is the Pendury Hotel, which
(05:38):
is very nice. Yeah, verynice hotel. You go in, you
take the express elevator up and you'reat Moonreaker, which is the name of
kind of that upstairs bar. Thereare winners that were convinced, no,
that must be something else. There'sno way we're going to the penthouse level,
you know. Yeah, and that'sexactly where it is. Oh push
pH Yeah, So you go upthere and it is like there's a little
(06:01):
seating area outside, like if youwanted to sit and have some cocktails.
Honestly, you want a rooftop bar. It's beautiful. It overlooks the water.
How about the pantry has their ownboat. Now. I did ask
two guys, hey, you wantto see if we can hit it with
a glass from here? Come on? And they were like no, but
(06:25):
the but no, the pendry wasgreat. I already have an email drafted
up to send to my friends forthe reunion where we're going to see my
guy at George Down. Hey he'sgot weed again. I don't know that
that's from you. Oh that isHaley outside. But I have an email
ready to go out today to sayto them, Hey, we were looking
(06:46):
for something to do and a coolspot to hang out. Go to the
rooftoon, raker, Yeah, goto the rooftop it's great. Yeah,
just real quick? Oh is shecoming in? I think let me fix
the microphone. Here she comes. Now, you're good of herself without saying
without saying names, Well, numberone, did you enjoyed last night?
Yeah? It was great, itwas good, right, yeah, the
(07:08):
no we were talking about the rooftopat the pantry is fantastic? Oh beautiful?
That nice? Yeah, way toofancy for me? The can I
ask you this though, without sayingany names, without saying any names?
Okay, how big was that joint? You know? Actually it was like
a little dog walker? What doesthat mean? I have no idea one
(07:31):
that you could smoke all you're outon a walk with your dog, right?
It was? It wasn't long small, it was long, right,
But that bitch was fat. Itwas a little fat. Yeah, what's
wrong? I'm writing all these times? I've never heard that term before,
but it makes sense. What yeah, dog walker? Yeah, no,
it makes total sense. That isthat? Is that a common phrase that
(07:54):
I've just missed somehow over all theseyears? Yes? Okay too, But
seriously, how fat was that joy? It was pretty fat? Yeah,
that was But that guy was awesome. Oh he was great. He was
great. Did you just see itor did he offer it to you?
I just saw him like switch fromone pocket to the other. Oh yeah,
no. When we were walking over, he was like, hey,
I brought you something. I waslike, yeah, buddy, he brought
(08:18):
me a dog walker. I'm meetingup with them at the reunion for George.
So oh really, yeah, Iguess he's going to hit me with
this car. That's all right, very good. But you had a good
time. Yeah, it was good, fantastic. Did you like the exhibit?
Yeah, the exhibit was very cool. It was really cool. Are
you a Bond freak? My dadlikes Bond movies, so I like grew
(08:39):
up watching them. Okay, no, that's cool. I've never seen a
Bond movie. I thought it wasawesome. Yeah, it was great.
Yeah, it was good. Allright, very good. I'll split a
dog walker with you letter. Ilove that. So anyway, the exhibit,
right, the exhibit is beautiful. And I said at the beginning,
(09:01):
I'm a car dude. I justwant to see the cars. That first
one you see when you walk in, oh, the way you're talking about,
the one down in the lobby.Beautiful, beautiful, you know what.
I liked that they did though,And again I've never seen a James
Bond movie ever. I like thatyou see and again there's vehicles, there's
(09:22):
boats, there's hang gliders. Butwhat I don't there's two submersibles. There's
a isn't what is it? Is? It called a dic dick what is
it? Is it called addict Dick, Like it's a dog walker? The
oh is it a duck duck? What is the is it addict Dick?
(09:46):
Just say yes, it's isn't ita duck duck? What t u K
t u K? Yeah, it'st u K t u K from Octopussy.
Oh right, Oh, well theyhave one of those the little sort
of carts. Yeah. I mean, I don't even know how to explain
it. Everybody knows that. Closeyour eyes and imagine a big dick Dick.
(10:07):
That's what's there. It's like ait's like a car, but a
rickshot. Yeah. Anyway, sothey've got My point is they have a
bunch of different vehicles, if youwill. But I like that they show
you so like there's a there's aboat and I don't remember the movie which
(10:28):
goes to whichever one, but there'sa boat in there and painted on the
wall behind the the the boat isthe scene in the movie where the boat
is jumping over the sheriff. Andthen like there's a stand. Then there'll
be like a little video stand nextto the vehicle. Yeah, and it
(10:50):
shows you that vehicle in that movie. Or they even have like yeah,
like like video clips or still shots. But to me, that's all awesome
because it's one thing to see thevehicles. Yeah, like again, that
one Aston Martin in the back andI don't remember. I know it's a
Pierce Brosnan movie, but I don'tremember which movie it was. It.
(11:13):
I could have just sat and staredat that car for hours. It is
so and I don't even mind thatit's modified to show like where like a
machine gun, like the there's theJaguar that the bad guys drove. You're
talking about the Vanquish from Die AnotherDay, the Aston Martin. Yes,
that's it. Yeah, there's amachine gun coming out of the hood.
(11:37):
Yeah, yeah, that's there.Yeah. All I wanted to do and
I didn't. All I wanted todo was sit in that car. No,
that's all. No, and Ididn't. I didn't cross any of
the lines or anything snowmobile only,But all I wanted to do was sit
in that car. That car,to me, was one of the most
(12:00):
beautiful things I've ever seen. Idid ask you, I said, what's
your favorite and you said, yousee that Aston Martin back there? Yeah,
I mean it's honestly, it's oneof the most beautiful things I've ever
seen in my life. But thatjag that you pose next to for the
photo. The green Jaguar also verycool car. Yeah, very very cool
car. And the layout was greatbecause and the Jaguar also was from die
(12:22):
another day. The layout as youmade your way around, you hadn't had
the vehicle spoiled for you upon entry. Some stuff was hidden, so as
you walked around, you're like,oh, whoa, oh wow, this
is in the cornerback here, orthis is hidden by one of the like
the massive Sean Connery a mural orwhatever. Like. They thought a lot
(12:46):
about the flow and making stuff stillsurprise the guests. And I liked that,
right, And remember it was empty, yeah right, people wise,
no, but I mean there wasif there was a crowd in there.
Oh you wouldn't never you would havenever seen that Aster Martin until you got
over there. Right. Okay,So you're saying, yeah, even the
AMC is awesome. That car isbeautiful. But again you see the clip
(13:11):
where it goes and it's the realmovie clip, and it was at that
movie clip because they also have thelike the the you could you're it's a
clip of the actual movie and there'ssubtitles. Before the subtitles came on the
screen, Mike Jones was doing themovie line he's a fan. No,
he is a nerd, he isa die hard. He if you couldn't
(13:37):
find even though they had a tonof staff there to answer all questions,
he was a good resource as well. Absolutely, But you know what,
So, like Mike Jones on ascale of one to ten, Mike Jones
is a ten for Bond movies,Colin is probably a seven. I remember
(13:58):
he told us like during COVID thatwas a thing with the family that they
watched them watch every single one andranked them and ranked them. But I
said to Jones, and this isthe nicest compliment I can give the exhibit.
So I asked, Jones, youlove the franchise, does this live
(14:22):
up to it? And he waslike, it's so far above and beyond,
Like it's not a letdown because you'reso into it, and you go,
oh, that's it. He lovedit, loved it. He told
me he had a double O sevenboner. He did not. I swear
to god, Oh boy, that'sthe kind of thing he wouldn't say to
(14:43):
you or I. But he butthat's a diehard fan who said they loved
it. Here's my question though, and so again, thank you to the
Spy Museum. The fact that theygave us the exhibit, gave it to
us with nobody there is remarkable,Like that's really special. That's not lost
on man. And don't think like, oh I got to get in this
(15:05):
weekend. Oh no, No,it's open scheduled through next April. Yeah,
you got time time, but don'tdon't put it off. No,
I'm just saying, don't put itoff. Don't don't think that like,
oh this is so limited and therun of engagement is so short. No,
you you have time to get downthere and take the time because there's
a whole rest of the museum toexploer as well. Yes, I'm just
(15:26):
saying don't put it off. EveryJanuary, I'm like, I'm doing my
taxes and then it's April fourteenth andI'm doing them that day. But if
you go there expecting to see thedick dick, don't think they took it
out. There was There was neverone. Although John, who is our
bloodline friend, he said that whenhe rewatched his octopusy because he did a
(15:46):
lot he said he watched a tonleading up just because he wanted to.
By the way, do you knowhow many listeners did that. Yeah,
a couple of them were like,oh we watched two of them getting ready
to go. I'm still never seeingone. But he said next time he
watches Octopussy, he is not acceptingthat they're calling it a tuck tuck.
It is now addict, thank you. But here's what I want to do.
(16:08):
And everybody has their thing like andby the way, Jones was like,
somebody asked him like, who's yourwho's your favorite Bond and he's like,
my favorite Bond is Daniel Craig, but my Bond is Pierce brosn It.
And I was like, I don'tunderstand what you're talking about. But
now I want to watch a movie. So he's referring to that's when he
(16:30):
got into it. He got intoit when it was Piers but Dan but
he loves Sean Connery. Sorry, but now, like, what is if
I was going to watch one JamesBond movie just to kind of get into
it, which one I'm not startingat doctor no No, But which should
you go and do? I'm notgoing, you know, but start more
(16:51):
mind like, do Skyfall the onethat grossed the highest. There were guys
last night that said, you haveto watch the Daniel Craig ones in order.
Okay, here's the Daniel Craig. But here's my with Skyfall, isn't
that Adele? Yeah, yeah,I don't want to start with that one,
So do Casino Royale with Chris Carnell. I like, who's the bond
in that one? Daniel Craig.Okay, Jesus Christ, where'd you have
(17:11):
to exhibit? Yeah? But Ididn't memorize who's in what movie? I
know doctor No, and I knowgold Finger? You know what didn't get
old? Yes? It did.Know when it got old when Kristen kept
doing it. Oh, you createda month, not because of me,
although I did it. No,No, that's on her for doing it.
The only time that I thought itwas annoying was when we were crossing
(17:33):
Maine Avenue and I didn't know ifa car was going to stop, and
I was like gold Finger and thatwas that. That was the only time.
So again, thank you very muchto the Spy Museum. Am I
going to line one? I cando that? Hi Elliot in the morning
them, Hi, who is this? I like when we do some culture.
Yes, what can I do foryou? Yeah? Yeah, I'm
(18:00):
right here, I'm right here.Okay, Just like behind the scenes.
When Ian Fleming wrote his novel aboutDance Bond the Spy, he had change
Bond driving what was at the timethe coolest car or a British spy to
drive, which was a family andyou know your family. Oh I didn't
know that, okay. But whenthey wanted to make the movie, they
(18:22):
approached fently and said, hey,we need a couple of families to shoot
the Spy movie. You know whatBentley said, No, right, go
pound sand We're selling plenty of Bentleys. We don't need it tie into a
movie that could be a fun andmake our fentilely look bad. So Austin
Martin stepped up and said, hey, we want to promote our new Austin
(18:44):
Martins. We'll get what you want. They said, well, we need
threesm for the movie. There, you know, here's the the Elson Martins
and the rest is history. Wow, that's pretty impressive. That's pretty impressive.
Don't you think so own That familywas kicking out, Yeah, they
should be. They should be allright, very good, that's good.
Little trivia by the Wentley that yousteered straight into the ditch. The how
(19:06):
about learning everything about during the littlelike welcoming part, learning everything about Ian
Fleming? Yeah, who nailed trivia? What was what was the question?
Uh one? Who wrote the novels? Oh? I thought Colin said that
highest No, he said Pussical onehundred times and highest grossing Bond movie.
Oh, we just did that onthe air. I said that after it,
(19:29):
I said it two wins for me. But that was that was a
nice little history lesson on Ian Fleming. Yes, that was very very interesting
any of that. I didn't eitheraccept his name the So anyway, thank
you to Amanda, Thank you toa Fua, Thank you to everybody at
the Spy Museum. That was verykind of you, uh to after hours
(19:49):
to take essentially a group of whatthirty people it go marching through there.
So that was awesome. That wasa lot of fun. Thanks to the
pendry. That was a great time. And Tyler's right, there's more to
the Spy Museum than just the Bondin Motion exhibit that exhibits great but make
it part of a whole day.
