Speaker 1 (00:00):
How is ace Frehley dead? How it doesn't make sense,
doesn't make sense to me. It doesn't seem right. It
doesn't seem.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
Right because of how much he survived.

Speaker 1 (00:10):
Yes, right, yeah, like you just thought Aceil lived forever. Sure,
like nothing else got him, you know. Well, I mean,
I don't want to compare him to I don't want
to like Keith Richards, same thing. You go, nothing else
got him. He's not gonna go And I just this
all stems from the fall, right.

Speaker 2 (00:28):
Yeah, well I wonder too. This happens a lot where
people after they're hospitalized for a fall fall more in
the hospital.

Speaker 3 (00:39):
What do you mean, like he fell down in the hospital.

Speaker 2 (00:42):
It happens. It happened to my father in law quite
a few times over the last year and a half.

Speaker 3 (00:46):
So when you're in the hospital then you fall, aren't
you in a bed?

Speaker 2 (00:50):
But do you try to get up?

Speaker 4 (00:51):
Yeah? Oh right, and they'll put they'll put a fall
risk bracelet on you and they'll try to stop you
from getting up, but they can't keep eyes on you
all the time. Yeah, no, I guess so you think, oh,
I'm I'm trying to go to the bathroom and you're not.

Speaker 3 (01:02):
Right, so you think a Scott up to take a piss.

Speaker 4 (01:04):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:05):
The family clearly may have minimized how bad the situation
was with that initial statement, remember the initial one before
he canceled all of the twenty twenty five dates, just
said that Ace disagrees, but with doctors orders, he's decided
to cancel. And it was just a single date, right,

(01:26):
that's right, and said he had he had a minor fall.
That's how they'd described it, right. They didn't say that
he had a brain bleaede. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:35):
Then I couldn't bring myself to wear my only Kiss
shirt today. Why it just didn't like, like I don't have.
It's weird of all the crap that I have, I
don't have like a Kiss concert shirt, which you think
I would. It was the second show I ever saw,
was was Kiss? Ace would have been with them back then?
Was Ace with them when I saw him playing on
the Intrepid or would he have been out?

Speaker 3 (01:56):
He would have been?

Speaker 1 (01:56):
Right? Yeah, absolutely, because I was going to dig that
picture out last night of when we were on the
they did a they did a show on the Intrepid
in New York, and so we went and we got
to meet the band and take pictures and stuff. But
then I didn't dig it out because the other people
that are in the picture. I didn't want to be
a part of that.

Speaker 3 (02:14):
The uh say again, what year is that?

Speaker 1 (02:18):
Oh god, I don't even mid nineties. Yeah, I would
have been a z so yeah, mid nineties the yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:25):
But then there's people that like Pullman's in it and stuff.

Speaker 4 (02:27):
But he could crep them out.

Speaker 3 (02:28):
No, you can't because Tom had to stick himself right
in between Gene and Paul.

Speaker 2 (02:33):
This is like all of my photos with Annie Hathaway
and asked me and Matt Castle out in the photo.
It's like, come on, guys, if I bend it, they'll
know that I made myself closer to her.

Speaker 1 (02:44):
And then the only the only Kiss shirt I have
is the New York Yankees kiss shirt. Yeah he did,
and I was like, I can't wear that, Like that
doesn't feel like a fitting tribute. Right and then and
then but then when when we all met Kiss as
a group, that Ace was not there.

Speaker 2 (03:00):
He was not.

Speaker 3 (03:01):
Yeah, No, that was that was post dates.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
Tommy's been in the band longer than fifteen years.

Speaker 1 (03:07):
Race, that's it, And you didn't you think like and
I feel horrible saying this, didn't you think of all
of them, Peter would be the first to go.

Speaker 3 (03:14):
Well, he because he was very sick it cancer right. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (03:18):
Now, Peter's statement made it seem like he was in
Morristown with Ace and Ace's family.

Speaker 3 (03:25):
He said when he when they pulled the plug. Yeah, no,
that's what.

Speaker 2 (03:28):
The statement alludes to. It says, I we were with him,
Peter and his wife were with him to the end.
Now that can be metaphorical, right, But it was a
very different statement than you got from Jean and Paul,
who issued one as a band, and then Gene and
Paul did separate social media tributes as well. But it
was such a bizarre night because obviously as a fan,

(03:51):
it's it's very sad.

Speaker 3 (03:53):
Oh, it's horrible.

Speaker 2 (03:54):
But then I got for those that don't know, my
daughter's name is Freely and while she wasn't named after Ace,
she was definitely named because of Ace. And so people
were sending me text messages like my family member died,
saying how sorry they were.

Speaker 3 (04:14):
But as big of a.

Speaker 1 (04:15):
Kiss fan as you are, I do think of them
as your family members.

Speaker 2 (04:20):
Again, there there is an emotion that could be expected
with someone in kiss passing away. But the response people
had to seeing the news and then contacting me right
was unexpected, so it sort of exacerbated the feeling. Sure,

(04:44):
but then there was this strange air to it. It's
like when I picked up my daughter from dance yesterday.

Speaker 3 (04:52):
Like, hey, spaceman, get in the car.

Speaker 2 (04:56):
Because the afternoon it went fast. You got the weird past,
you got the weird post from Maynard, right, and people
were like, what the heck's going on? A couple other
guys in the industry said similar things on social media
than TMS support. It started earlier in the day, Well
it was Maynard was part of it, right, and then
you got the TMZ report that he was on life support, right,

(05:18):
and then that they might and that initial TMZ exclusive
said that the family is considering pulling the plug this evening,
and then within three hours that was it. Yeah, he
was dead.

Speaker 1 (05:28):
When they because at first, like at first, there was
the rumor going around that that Ace had died, So
that was the that was the original rumor.

Speaker 3 (05:36):
You know what that made me think back to this
is very self serving.

Speaker 1 (05:39):
Do you remember this goes back years and years and
years ago, that that Peter Chris was homeless and had
died under an overpass in La.

Speaker 2 (05:46):
Well, there are always so many rumors about kiss.

Speaker 1 (05:48):
Right, and so there was this rumor that Peter Chris
had died in Los Angeles, like homeless under an overpass. Yeah,
and everybody was like, there's no way like that, like
that would be no, that would be no, but that
rumor wouldn't go away.

Speaker 3 (06:02):
He came up to Pirate to like.

Speaker 1 (06:04):
Be on the radio, I'm alive, and I was like, whoa, Peter,
that's you without makeup the But then so yesterday when
all those rumors started and listen he had canceled shows,
you were like, okay, well here goes.

Speaker 3 (06:18):
The rumor mill again, just saying he's dead.

Speaker 1 (06:20):
And then when then when the the TMZ report came
out and they were like he's on life support, you
were like, okay, who at least he's not dead. And
then they started talking about he's on a ventilator and
that the family's getting together and deciding whether or not
that they were going to pull the plug, which I
can't I can't imagine.

Speaker 3 (06:39):
I can't imagine Ace laying in a hospital.

Speaker 2 (06:41):
Bed, right, especially when he's saying and shock me, don't
pull the plug on me.

Speaker 3 (06:45):
No, no, So I can't, like I can't.

Speaker 2 (06:50):
I mean, I can picture As in hospital. Bet he
was there many times.

Speaker 1 (06:52):
I can't.

Speaker 3 (06:54):
And all I wanted he crashed.

Speaker 2 (06:57):
A lot in car accident, he claims, is they're that's
all his fault, not all the reason he sober twenty
years ago, right.

Speaker 3 (07:04):
El statement, And that's all I kept thinking of.

Speaker 1 (07:07):
And then and so then when they said, like the
family is gathering and they're gonna decide he was on
a ventilator whether or not they were going to pull
the plug. In my mind they were like, they're not
going to pull the plug like Aceel pull through this.
He pulls through everything like nothing has ever killed Ace.

Speaker 2 (07:21):
Yeah, keep it in and keep me high.

Speaker 1 (07:26):
And then I had this really really I don't want
to say it's a sick thought, but in my mind,
it's how I wanted it to be. I wanted them,
and I know this is wrong. I wanted them to
paint his face in the hospital. Oh my god, I really,
I know, and it's a horrible thought, but that's how

(07:48):
I listen if Ace is gonna like I can't imagine
Ace laying in a hospital bed, right, And we've seen
pictures of him and everything. But when you close your
eyes and you think Ace freely, you don't think Ace
like you don't think of bad Ace. You think of
Ace in makeup like that's your first visual.

Speaker 2 (08:08):
When you think of the stage presence, Yes, the pyro,
the wobble, the way he walked on that stage. It's
not just the smoking guitars and the flame throwing neck.
Now you you.

Speaker 3 (08:23):
Think of it all, Yes, And that's why I don't think.

Speaker 1 (08:26):
I don't want to believe Ace died with Like, listen,
nobody looks good in the hospital, so I.

Speaker 3 (08:33):
Don't want Yeah, like they're like, I don't want that Ace.
That's not the Ace I want. I want it with
makeup on you.

Speaker 4 (08:40):
Yeah, those below below you on the stage photos are
never flattering.

Speaker 2 (08:46):
No, because it makes you look Magazine criticism this week
for a similar shot.

Speaker 1 (08:54):
No, no, but you know what I mean, Like the
last image, I don't want my and listen, I didn't
see him in the hospital. I want my image of
him in the hospital to be him with the makeup on.

Speaker 2 (09:04):
So if Jeanette or Monique, if they could a strange
wife forgot her or photo.

Speaker 3 (09:10):
Idad, but that was the thing.

Speaker 2 (09:14):
So I picked my daughter up, and you know, she
is online, not in the car, but she when at
some point got home, was going to be online. So
I know at that point I need to tell her
because I didn't want her. She's well aware of the
inspiration for her name, sure, and so telling her again,

(09:37):
was it a product of some of the text messages
I had already gotten, or just an unexpected feeling of
this passing with the name being passed on to her,
I felt like I was telling her my dad died,
which which I have. She's aware of that, she knows

(09:59):
my dad, but it was it was just very bizarre,
very I'm sure, I'm sure. But then I was reminded
of such a great story and she didn't find it
as funny. But remember we went and saw Kiss with
comedian Mitch tra Tel.

Speaker 3 (10:16):
Oh, that's right, that's right.

Speaker 2 (10:18):
And so when Mitch, this goes back years and years ago,
when Mitch found out that my daughter's name was Frailey,
he asked if my son's name was Peter Chris. She
didn't get it. I don't even know if she's aware
of who Peter Cris is, but she definitely knew Astrayley

(10:40):
and she knew because A sang it correctly pronounced in
many songs. And there was even a very famous clip
that we showed her many times when she was learning
her name, where A says like, it's Frailey, not Freely.

Speaker 3 (10:58):
All right, I'm gonna dig that picture out today. But
we got to put big circles.

Speaker 1 (11:03):
The face, and I was, I was so, I was,
so Jackie was at So Jackie's one of her good
friends is daughter's getting married this weekend.

Speaker 3 (11:13):
So last night was the rehearsal dinner.

Speaker 1 (11:16):
I had to get her out of the rehearsal dinner
to tell her that Ace died, and she was like,
why are you calling me?

Speaker 3 (11:22):
I was like, you don't understand.

Speaker 1 (11:23):
Ace Frehley died like other than like my first show
was the Texas Jam, which was like that was like
a whole festival, but like the first show that I
went to just see one band on their own was Kiss.
And she has seen all the pictures and stuff of
the band and stuff, and she knows I love Kiss.
But man, I had to call her and get her
out of the rehearsal dinner. She thought something happened to
one of the kids. I was like, but also I

(11:47):
didn't want somebody else at the rehearsal dinner to.

Speaker 2 (11:50):
Check break the news.

Speaker 1 (11:51):
Yeah, I wanted her to be able to break the
news so that way she would.

Speaker 3 (11:54):
Come in and go why exactly.

Speaker 1 (11:57):
That's how selfish I am, And so I wanted to
be like, why is Elliot calling you? It's like, oh,
he had to tell me Ace Frayley died, and the
rest of them be like okay, okay, so we are
we eating, But like, I didn't want her to find
out from somebody else.

Speaker 2 (12:11):
That's how I felt with a TikTok influencer telling my daughter,
which has no doubt how she would have found it.

Speaker 3 (12:21):
Anyway. Rip A's Frayley. God, that's horrid. That sounds so
bad to say. Oh, I hate it.

Speaker 2 (12:27):
I hate it from whichever planet you came from. I
thought about it for the better part of the last
twelve hours. I hope you make it back. Just don't
drive
