Speaker 1 (00:00):
When the on air Mike goes off, the talk Talk begins.
It's Talk Talk with Martha Quinn. Hey, how are you doing?
Be kind? Rewind? That's that's some good advice. It is.

Speaker 2 (00:11):
I don't know if kids know what that means, but
it is really good advice.

Speaker 1 (00:15):
Be kind and you'll look fine.

Speaker 3 (00:17):
Good advice, very good advice. Be kind and you will
look fine.

Speaker 1 (00:22):
Yeah, that is very good advice.

Speaker 2 (00:24):
Be mean and you'll fall down a ditch and break
your ankle. Wow, it doesn't really rhyme the same way.

Speaker 1 (00:30):
That got a little dark.

Speaker 3 (00:31):
That's okay, it's a little dark. Wait to spread the
joy and the sprinkles. Welcome to Talk Talk with Martha Quinn,
the podcast that unites the Morning Drive with Christy Live Crue,
Christy and Kree of Alaska's and the Martha Quinn Show crew.
Martha and Cream of Alaska. Hey, so what episode number

(00:54):
is this? Kreem of Alaska is the keeper of the
episode numbers to forty seven. Amazing, done so many. So
what's the topic for this week?

Speaker 1 (01:04):
Ladies?

Speaker 3 (01:04):
Are we I think we're talking random acts of kindness?

Speaker 1 (01:08):
Yes, yes we are.

Speaker 3 (01:10):
And the reason this popped into my mind is because
we got a talk back message. Anytime anybody wants to
reach out to us, you can tap the talk back
microphone that shows up on your phone when you're listening
to the station on our iHeartRadio app just downloaded from
the app store.

Speaker 1 (01:27):
It's free.

Speaker 3 (01:28):
And she said her card got declined at the grocery store.
And she said she had all these groceries there and
her card was declined and a guy came up and said,
don't worry, I'll pay for it for you. And she's like, no, no, no,
are you kidding And he said no, I got it,
and he paid for her groceries.

Speaker 1 (01:48):
That is amazing. I'm really nice.

Speaker 2 (01:50):
I've done something like that when someone in front of
me needed like a couple bucks or some change, but
not like the whole shebang. So I think that is
really that is a random act of kindness. And I
love that she shared that because it shows that things
like that actually happen in the world.

Speaker 3 (02:05):
Yeah, and sometimes we'll hear people tell their random acts
of kindness, like I'm pretty sure it was Mark in
Massachusetts who said that he Or was it Michael in Pittsburgh.
You guys, remind me who helped somebody change their tire.

Speaker 1 (02:19):
Do you remember I don't, I don't. I don't.

Speaker 3 (02:22):
Well, Michael Bandmark are both very kind, yes, yes, and
therefore they both look fine. Sometimes people will tell us
about random acts of kindness that they have perpetrated upon
the world. But it was really interesting to hear when
you're the recipient of a random act of kindness. I
myself had someone buy me some avocado toast and some

(02:43):
coffee recently. I went to the coffee shop and I
went to pay for my coffee and my avocado toast,
and I kind of just waved my phone in front
of the card reader and it went way too fast,
and I was like, whoa, what happened? And I looked
at on my phone and it said visa card. But
I had, you know, I could see I had an
American Express card on my phone, and I looked down

(03:08):
and I saw somebody's card was in the machine.

Speaker 1 (03:11):
I was like, oh my gosh.

Speaker 3 (03:12):
And then the barista was like.

Speaker 1 (03:14):
Oh, oh my gosh.

Speaker 3 (03:15):
And I pulled it out and I go it was
this guy Ian. I go Ian Ian, and some guy
sitting there goes yes, and I go, hey, your card
was still the machine. You just bought my avocado toast
and my coffee. And he was like, oh, because that's fine,

(03:36):
that's fine, thank you for giving me my card back.
And I go, can I venmo you or something? And
he goes, no, no, no, that's fine. You know, it's
my pleasure. And honestly, I'm so glad that he didn't
say I could venmo him, because I have no idea
how to venmo. I just said that I don't even
think I have venmo.

Speaker 1 (03:54):
I was gonna say, Martha, you know how to venmo?
That's awesome.

Speaker 2 (03:58):
I just said that.

Speaker 3 (04:00):
You know what I would have had to do is
call my husband Tyson and say, hey, can you venmo
this guy?

Speaker 1 (04:05):
Because I don't know how to venmo?

Speaker 3 (04:06):
So I was the recipient of a random act of kindness.

Speaker 1 (04:10):
How about you, ladies?

Speaker 4 (04:11):
Yeah, I was gonna say, I always like it.

Speaker 1 (04:15):
I've had before.

Speaker 4 (04:16):
This probably happens a lot when I go to the
Starbucks drive through or I go to Peach drive through
and then somebody pays for the coffee. Like that happens
quite often, So I like that. But I think one
of the most kindest things that I remember is from
my friend Christy and Martha Quinn had a part to
do with it. So it was was it around my birthday?

(04:39):
I think Christy said, Hey, do you want to go
somewhere this weekend? And I said, okay, I don't know
where we're going, but she said, it's not that far.
Here's what you need to wear, and we're going. So
next thing you know, Christy's like, we're going on a plane.
I said, okay. I just went along with it because
I trust her ires her. I mean, who knows where

(05:01):
she could have.

Speaker 1 (05:01):
Been taking me.

Speaker 4 (05:02):
But it ended up that Christy took me to Bakersfield.

Speaker 1 (05:07):
Nope, Burbank Bank. It was Burbank And when.

Speaker 4 (05:11):
I got off the plane, surprise, you both were there
and I didn't know what was going on yet. I
was like, okay, cool, we're all just going to hang
out and have a good time together. Next thing you know,
Christy is taking me to go see one of my
favorite artists in the history of Everness, Gwen Stefani's holiday

(05:33):
private show from one of our sister stations, and I
lost it. I completely did not expect that, and that's
one of the most kindest things someone has ever done
for me, because I totally did not expect any of that.
And then I got to meet Gwen Stefani up close
personal and take a picture that.

Speaker 1 (05:52):
I will never forget.

Speaker 3 (05:54):
And the fact that you did get to meet her
was another Christie move because as I recall, oh, they
were closing down the line. Yes. Uh.

Speaker 1 (06:04):
And then so.

Speaker 3 (06:04):
Christy, what did you do at that point when you
saw they were closing down the line.

Speaker 2 (06:08):
I don't remember how we got in or I got
a wristband or something, but we snuck in to like
the last little we sleep in and I was like,
come on, hurry.

Speaker 1 (06:16):
Up, go over there, take a picture. So I just remember.

Speaker 2 (06:19):
I can see it happening in my mind, but I
don't remember exactly.

Speaker 4 (06:22):
I remember, Martha, you and I were at Whole Foods
getting ready to eat something for dinner, and then real
quickly because I thought we had because you said, oh,
we have time, and then Christie said.

Speaker 1 (06:32):
Oh, you need to come now, come now.

Speaker 4 (06:35):
So we dashed back to the studio or whatever, the
little concert hall where Gwen was going to be at,
and then all of a sudden, Christy's.

Speaker 1 (06:43):
Like, go to the front of the line, here's your wristband.

Speaker 4 (06:46):
Get in there, and she like pushed me in there,
and I didn't know what was happening. I didn't know
what was going on, and boom they Luckily, I think
Christy told one of the guys, Karina is a huge,
huge Gwen Stefani fan, please let her meet her. And
then they got me in there and like I was
the second to last person to take that picture to
meet her. It was like the best, one of the

(07:06):
best memories that I will never forget. And I just
just the whole thing in general was really really kind.

Speaker 1 (07:12):
Oh god, that was.

Speaker 3 (07:15):
That was absolutely it was.

Speaker 1 (07:19):
It was awesome. It was a long day.

Speaker 4 (07:20):
I will never forget it, but that was one of
the most kindest things anyone has ever really done for me.
And it was Gwen Stefani, Like, man, what are the
chances of that ever happening her holiday show?

Speaker 1 (07:31):
I was right up front. I could smell her talk.
But that is one of like the.

Speaker 4 (07:39):
Kindest things someone has ever done for me, and I
will never forget it. So thank you Christy, Thank you
Mark the Quinn for being a part of that fun. Christy,
do you have a random act of kindness?

Speaker 2 (07:50):
I like to do them for other people, especially like
you know, if I see people I almost picked up
another stranger the other day. You know, I like to
pick up strangers on the side of the road, and
I saw someone running for the bus. Luckily the bus
stopped for them. But you know, when I see someone
getting left behind, especially if it's a bus and they
don't make it, I'm like hop in that last time.

(08:10):
I found out this woman was unhoused when I did that.
But you know, I made it safely and dropped her
off at the store so she could buy her stuff.
But yeah, I think it happens a lot. But I
like to try and do nice things. I like to
help people. It makes me happy, you know what.

Speaker 1 (08:26):
I will say this.

Speaker 2 (08:27):
I recently moved and there's a lot of young people
at my building and I was moving my stuff in
and this guy stopped out of nowhere and he's like,
do you need a hand.

Speaker 1 (08:38):
I was like, no, I don't need a hand.

Speaker 2 (08:39):
I'm good, and he's like, no, I'm gonna go ahead
and help you out because I was unloading my car.
His name was Hussein, and I was like, oh wow,
very handsome and he's like, oh, the door for you.
I was like thanks, So he held the door for
me and then he's like, let me get the elevator
for you. I'm like, wow, this guy just came out
of nowhere, and then he did, and I was like,
that was really nice. And then next day I had

(09:01):
parked my car in the garage and I'm new in
the building, so I didn't have the code and I
didn't have my key, so I was like, oh crap,
how am I gonna get in the garage? And I'm
trying these different keys and I was like, okay, I'm
gonna have to walk around to the front of the building.
And all of a sudden, who pops up in the
little mirror on the window on the other side of
the door.

Speaker 1 (09:19):
Who's saying? Who's saying? He was like, let me get
the door for you.

Speaker 2 (09:23):
I was like, who are you? You just keep popping
up at it nowhere. He's like, oh, here's the code.
You can always use this like kind of generic code
to get in any of the doors. And then maybe
a week later, there's a massive fire alarm and it
goes off in the building. So everyone's coming out of
the building and everyone's kind of, you know, milling about

(09:43):
on the street. And then this woman was having an
issue with her dog. Dun da da da Clark Whossein
Kent no Way comes up and he's helping the lady
with their dog. I I was like, who is this man?
And he's gorgeous? I said, who's saying? Is the Disney
Prince at a No, that's so sweet. Yeah, so that
was actually a random act of kindness that apparently he

(10:04):
enjoys doing and is just always there to help.

Speaker 1 (10:06):
So that's yeah, I like that. That is really nice. Yeah,
so shout out to Hussein.

Speaker 3 (10:12):
And you said he looks may I say, fine, yes, yes,
because he.

Speaker 2 (10:18):
Is kind.

Speaker 4 (10:20):
Heay, there it is there, it is yes, there it
is sares well.

Speaker 3 (10:27):
I think that's a perfect place to wrap up this
