tell you about a special place inKatie helping people at It's called Hope Impacts,
and the founder, Tina Hatcher,says she wants to help people keep
safe in this heat. So manyrite in our community. So each week

mentioned yesterday that are open all aroundthe city, but these go beyond just
offering temporary relief and hydration. Sheoffers food, clothing, showers. They've

for her. She says she losther home, family, friends, and
even contemplated suicide. Well, whenDarla transitioned from prison back into the workforce,
she learned about the free programs GoodwillHouston offers to people with employment barriers,
and she says it was an eventthat changed her life. She was
soon hired as a sword in theLaport story, Darla moved up to a

new position. Per hard work anddedication paid off with several more promotions,
and now today Darla is Goodwill Houston'sCommunity Mission Integration and connect Manager, working
to connect Goodwill Houston's missions to allaspects of its operation, and she's made
it her mission to promote the organizationto everyone she meets. She feels that
her story can give hope to otherswho are facing their own barriers to employment.
