Speaker 1 (00:02):
Sunday ninety nine point one, Houston's Best Variety of the
eighties nineties, and Today Dana in the Morning and producer
Anthony the three things you need to know to get
your Tuesday. Remember it's September third, already started and today
is Tuesday, September third. Heads up, Today's the last day
you can apply for property tax relief if you'd suffered

(00:23):
damage from the May storms. Okay, today's the final day.
Take advantage of this now. If you suffered damage from
the hurricane, you have until October twenty. First, for all
the details, just go to HCAD HCAD dot org and
there is a page disaster Exemption. Well, we're finding out
more about Mattress Mac. I was actually talking with Cliff Saunders,

(00:45):
who is working with our sister station seven point forty KTRH.
Mac is back home. He was good. Yep. He was
in the emergency room over the weekend because he was
dealing with cognitive issues and a rash on his leg
and doctors were just keeping him there for tests. He says,
he's doing great. Especially do really great if you went
there for his Labor Day sale. But anyway, it was

(01:07):
the first time on Friday, he ever drove by his
furniture store. He just didn't know where he was. So
apparently he is doing okay. Don't know yet what exactly
what was going on. We do know that Galvis Man
had a Labor day rainfall six inches of rain yesterday.
It was these stationary thunderstorms. All is beautiful out there now.

(01:29):
We do have a forty percent chance of rain today,
and that rain chance could go up for tomorrow and
Thursday as a fall front moves in. We could have
temperatures in the morning in the sixties.

Speaker 2 (01:40):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (01:40):
Looking forward to that today though we'll go up to ninety.
Right now, it's seventy six in Uptown and eure up
to date on sunny Tell me something good brought to
us by our friends at Goodwill Houston. Our nearly impossible
question coming up this morning? What gives you instant happiness?
For some it's coffee, And I'm talking about one of
the Astros players, Caesar Salazar. He has just started on

(02:04):
Instagram page dedicated to his journey to find the best coffee.
It's called Sally Dot SIPs, and during his journey he
is learning how to make the best cordado, or the Poorover.
He says he has fascinated with coffee. He bought his
first fifty dollars shot of espresso at some coffee shop

(02:25):
during his travels. He said it changed his life and
he's been on the search ever since. He says it
actually distracts him from thinking about baseball all the time.
Coffee relaxes him. Oh yeah, about that. You can check
it out. He wants to credit his sister Patricia for
actually helping out with this page. He actually joined the

(02:46):
Astros roster on Sunday. He's playing nine games so far
with the Astros and you can check him out again
on his Insta page. Sally Dot SIPs it's pretty amazing.
Like with Bruin Yeah, Producer.

Speaker 2 (02:59):
Anthony Dana get away for the family that's within driving distance.
It's Angel Lagoon out in Dayton. They recently celebrated their
grand opening. It's designed as a beach club and aqua
adventure park, and it's the nation's first public access lagoon,
welcoming both day passholders and community members. You'll find this
place off River Ranch Boulevard. It's right in the heart
of Dayton, about forty minutes northeast from Houston. Sits on

(03:20):
forty acres, beautiful white sand beaches, huge array of water
activities and plenty of food options and pretty cool to
learn too. These lagoons they've been building all over the world,
built sustainable. These lagoons require minimal chemicals and tech for
the upkeep, even uses less power than comparable resorts and parks.
And they say that Angel Lagoon is that space for everyone,
locals or visiting guests. And you can find Angel Lagoon

(03:42):
once again up in Dayton, just a forty minute drive
northeast of the Age, a fun getaway to look forward too.
And it's now open.

Speaker 1 (03:47):
We have so many listeners from Dayton. Oh. Now, they're so.

Speaker 2 (03:51):
Lucky in the area.

Speaker 1 (03:52):
Okay, we went from baseball and coffee to a twelve
year old selling snacks in vending machines. Yep, his name
is Anthony Albarado. He is a very ambitious Houston teenager
who had a dream to become the first millionaire in
his family. Raised by a single mom, iris she is
so proud of him. He was nine years old when

(04:14):
he first started a business selling chocolates at his mom's business.
He then doubled that from chocolates to selling chocolates and candies.
Then started learning about what to do with his money,
how to invest his money, and then he went to
an amazing event which really has changed his life again
teaching him how to invest the money he's making. It

(04:34):
was Destiny Global and you can check it out. They
even work with eight year olds Destinyglobal dot com. Now
he owns and he's twelve years old, Anthony. He owns
three vending machines on his way to becoming a millionaire
on his grind and giving back to the community. Great job, Anthony. Hey,
you can always find our stories tell me something good

(04:55):
stories up at Sunday ninety nine dot com and you
can follow us on Facebook x and int Sunny ninety
nine Houston Sunday ninety nine point one Houston's best variety
of the eighties nineties and today I'm Dana with producer Anthony.
I was also thinking, Anthony, you know what brings me
instant joy is when I look out yonder and when
you're driving in Houston, maybe driving out on I ten,

(05:18):
and you see the rain and you see the sun
in one area, you see a rainbow, you see the clouds.
I love looking at the sky. It brings such it's
like such awe, you know you go, man, I didn't
even realize I had a problem. I'm just in awe
of this majestic art in front of me.

Speaker 2 (05:35):
You do get to catch a sunrise or sunset that
stops unbelievable.

Speaker 1 (05:38):
And we're asking you what brings you instant joy? We
learned in our nearly Impossible question at six point forty
this morning, for forty percent of us, it's a hug.
It's totally free.

Speaker 2 (05:48):
But you need somebody.

Speaker 1 (05:49):
You need someone to do that exactly. And we've got
Angela calling in from Conrod. Angela, what's it for you?

Speaker 2 (05:55):
I would say, listening to music happy?

Speaker 1 (05:59):
Oh, we've seen that study before. Yeah, and uh, I'm
gonna say that since you're calling Sonny, it must be
some music that we play for you on Sonny. Do
you have a favorite.

Speaker 2 (06:11):
Oh? I enjoy this about everything you play. It just
depends on the loop.

Speaker 1 (06:17):
Sometimes country. Yeah, it's just the right We play the
right blend of music that just makes you feel good.
But what what? How did you find Sonny? When did
you start listening to us? Oh? Gosh, it's ten years.
I think playing the radio on and then realizing, hey,
I like's this music and I like to host Angela.

(06:40):
You know, when I first moved to Houston, I actually
moved to Conroe from New York and so my heart
is still in Conroe. How long have you lived in
Conroe and where did you move there from? Parman? Actually
very nice, very nice. Well, it's nice to talk with you.
And uh Anthony's mom is a nurse. So we thank
you so much for all you do.

Speaker 2 (07:03):
Yes, thank you, guys appreciate this
