Speaker 1 (00:02):
Sunday nighty nine point one, Dana in the Morning and
producer Anthony and we have got Houston's best variety of
the eighties, nineties and today and the three things you
need to know to get your Friday, October twenty fifth
started well in Katie. This TikTok video has gone viral.
One hundred and fifty drivers show up for court. They
find out they've all been ticketed by the same officer
at the same location. I wrote at I ten and

(00:25):
the same problem, improper stop at the stoplight. So the
lady who takes a video, we'll check this out.

Speaker 2 (00:31):
Everybody got pulled out.

Speaker 3 (00:32):
Book for night.

Speaker 2 (00:33):
Yielded on round.

Speaker 4 (00:37):
Everybody raises they're killing Oh my gosh, the same officer,
and the officer find out what he's a twenty seven
year veteran all about safety.

Speaker 2 (00:47):
His name is Deputy R. Hubbard. So there you go.

Speaker 1 (00:50):
Well, it was a tragic fire overnight at a Richmond
area apartment complex. The firefighters called out about nine o'clock
last night and four eight residents are displaced.

Speaker 2 (01:02):
No one was injured. So that's the amazing news.

Speaker 1 (01:04):
The American Red Crosses out there now helpings just a
little bit outside of Sugarland and a huge sex trafficking
ring in Houston shut down nine area nightclubs. Over eighty
victims have been identified. It was called Operation Bad Traffic,
big press conference about it yesterday releasing the details, and
officers and law enforcement calling this the house of horrors

(01:28):
for victims. And your weather today is going to be beautiful,
sunny but warm. We're gonna go up to eighty nine.
But I don't know, Anthony, for some reason, ninety eighty eight,
eighty nine, it doesn't feel as hot and hits so
humidity is a little bit lower.

Speaker 2 (01:42):
Oh that's the difference.

Speaker 1 (01:43):
If there's any silver lining, I know. And right now
it's already up to sixty nine in uptown and Europe
to date on Sunday ninety nine point one. Tell me
something good brought to us by our friends at Goodwill Houston. Well,
they told me I'm a meme. He was simply sitting there.
His name is Grant Walthier. He was at the Texas
football game. He's the fan who went viral during the

(02:05):
Longhorns loss to Georgia for.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
His big hair.

Speaker 1 (02:09):
Now he's taking it all in stride and grace and humor,
and he's hoping to extend his brand pretty clever.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
He wants to have Matthew McConaughey.

Speaker 1 (02:19):
Who's been known to cut player's hair, to cut his hair.
He wants to raise funds for cancer research. He says
his grandma recently got diagnosed with breast cancer. Fortunately she
beat it, but he wants to use this new platform
to raise some funds for cancer research.

Speaker 2 (02:36):
Who knows, maybe this was his destiny right, meant to be? Yeah,
producer Anthony Dan this is so good.

Speaker 5 (02:42):
We have a local nonprofit in the area that's raised
more than one point five million dollars for victims of
hurricanes Helene and Milton. It's the Southern Smoke Foundation. It
was started by one of h Town's most respected chefs,
Chris Shepherd, and he has a mission to provide emergency
rants and mental health assistance to those who need it
most in the food and beverage industry. And as he says,

(03:02):
no request it's too large or small. They held the
Southern Smoke Festival held at Discovery Green recently, where guests
tried new foods from about seventy chefs, bartenders, and wine bars,
all to raise money for those in need, and as
of now. There are currently more than nineteen hundred applications
processing for food and beverage workers affected by Hurricane Helene.
If you'd like to donate to the Southern Smoke Foundation,

(03:22):
or maybe you're one of those workers in the food
and beverage industry, we'd like to learn more about getting
some assistance from Southern Smoke. They encourage you to visit
their site, Southernsmoke dot org.

Speaker 2 (03:32):
That is so cool and get this.

Speaker 1 (03:33):
Anthony Sugarland is exploring a futuristic transport system that's developed
described as bold innovative trailblazing, almost like the Jetsons, using
small electronic vehicles that are sort of flying. They kind
of look like a gondola, but with many more features.

(03:54):
They'd be the first in the US to do it.
It's a cable and rail system. The company that they'd
be used is called Swift Cities, and they would be
the ones to put in what they call this whoosh system,
and they're really thinking it might happen.

Speaker 2 (04:09):
It's pretty darn cool. It can help me be some traffic.

Speaker 1 (04:12):
I know exactly definitely, and who knows something like that.

Speaker 2 (04:16):
Maybe here in the Harris County area.

Speaker 1 (04:17):
We'll see you always can see or tell me something

Speaker 1 (05:12):
How do you know which people you're gonna serve free
dessert to?

Speaker 3 (05:15):
You can usually see it on their face. And sometimes
I'll just be like, how are you doing today? And
they'll be like, oh, not so good. So it's nice
to surprise them.

Speaker 1 (05:23):
Oh so I bet their world just lights up when
they realize what you just did for them.

Speaker 3 (05:29):
Yeah, they certainly do.

or recently it's been some pies.

Speaker 2 (05:48):
