It's January seventh, started while Governor Greg Abbott activated our
state emergency resource process because of this severe winter weather
that we're expecting all week long and severe cold rainy
situation is going to be happening Thursday and Friday.
Speaker 2 (00:27):
Okay, mainly to the north of US.
Speaker 1 (00:29):
Doesn't mean it might not happen here. We've got to
be aware of it, but it's mainly to the north.
And we're talking in Dallas, like on Thursday and Friday,
four inches perhaps six inches of snow. Who and I
hope they can take care of it because it's a
big sports weekend Friday, the Cotton Bowl up in Dallas
Longhorns against Ohio State. And remember Urkott has issued a
(00:52):
weather watch through Friday, and they are closely monitoring this
winter weather situation and high demand, which obviously could have happen,
but at this time they're saying that the grid conditions
are still normal. Urcott is providing us with updates though
if anything changes now. Weather today, it's cold now, it's freezing.
It's thirty two now in Uptown, but we are going
(01:13):
to go up to fifty. Should be nice and sunny now.
Remember the rain starts Thursday and Friday and still some
cold temperatures expected, so we'll be keeping our eyes on that.
Just you know, make your plans plan b accordingly. Right now, again,
it's thirty two in Uptown and you're up to date
on sunny. Tell me something good brought to us by
(01:33):
our friends at Goodwill Houston. While these warm, kind hearted
people all across our area helping those more vulnerable in
this cold weather. We're talking about the homeless population. There's
a homeless encampment in New Caney and thank you to
Tamika Hudson.
Speaker 2 (01:50):
She is helping out any way.
Speaker 1 (01:51):
She can see she was homeless in one point in
her life, so she can empathize with these folks. She
is bringing out clothes and water and Mrs Also Isaac
Mallett another one, another warm hearted person helping out the
homeless there. He says, I'm just doing what I can.
I mentioned the Star of Hope yesterday, another great resource
(02:11):
for our homeless population. Their love and Action Band taking
out all kinds of warm blankets and clothes and socks
and scarves, and you can help them out.
