The horror in La continues day four. Now ten people
have died from these out of control fires, ten thousand
structures have burned to the ground, and now one of
the fires could have been intentionally set.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
A potential arsonist is in custody.

Speaker 1 (00:55):
And the winter storm didn't hit us fortunately and not
as bad as we thought it could have been. In
Dallas they had less than an inch of snow. But
it is going to be a cold day here in
the forties here in Houston. Rain should be out of here.
We could get a freeze tonight, but there'll be no rain,
so that's good. And it's going to be a dry,
warmer weekend.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
We'll be in the.

Speaker 1 (01:15):
Fifties and no freezes next week. We could be in
the seventies by next weekend. Right now, it's thirty eight
in Uptown and you're up to date on sunny. Tell
me something good brought to us by our friends at
Goodwill Houston. Well, when Blended Coffee opened in sugar Land
in twenty seventeen, part of the cafe served as a

(01:35):
roastery coffee beans which Anthony before they roasted they look
like lentils. It's coolest thing ever. Well, anyway, they were
roasting the beans there. The roastery outgrew the coffee shop,
so now they're opening. It's just going to be a
roastery in Afton Oaks and it's going to supply the
coffee to Blended Sugarland location and there Allen Parkway locations.

Speaker 2 (01:57):
Next up, they.

Speaker 1 (01:58):
Planned to go to the East End in downtown and
in Katie and the owner, wizong Zang, he says it
was a he was started out as a biochemist studying pharmacology,
but it was an amazing cup of coffee at an
Arizona coffee shop that changed the trajectory of his life
and he became committed to giving every one of us

(02:20):
that perfect cup of coffee experience. As a matter of fact,
his dedication to the perfect cup actually panned out because
last year he won the US Brewers Up Championship. Dang
So now like I want to go to blendingby really
So producer Anthony Dane.

Speaker 3 (02:35):
Coming as a surprise to No Texans, for the third
straight year, our AGB has been ranked number one on
this annual Retailer Preference Index. It's a comprehensive study that
looks at how retailers stack up against each other, combining
like financial results with customer perception. They surveyed more than
eleven thousand US residents during September through October last year,
each person rating up to three retailers they currently shop through.

(02:57):
Through the lens of pillars like price, quality, digital speed,
inconvenience prices we're seen as the most important, but it
definitely matters what you can get at those low prices,
and that being a big reason why AGB dominated because
we feel like we just get.

Speaker 2 (03:09):
More bang for the buck.

Speaker 3 (03:10):
Adding they just recently Dan added that tap to pay
option at their checkout.

Speaker 2 (03:14):
Oh it just keeps getting better.

Speaker 3 (03:15):
So congrats to our local hib number one again nationally
for groceries.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
And the one in in Brenham has this amazing barbecue little.

Speaker 3 (03:24):
Oh my gosh, so we got one off six tight.
It's amazing, so.

Speaker 2 (03:28):
Good, it's like my husband's in my date day. Uh
huh and for good reason.

Speaker 1 (03:32):

the founder. She is an entrepreneur. She is what makes
the corner of Montrose and Westheimer amazing with their outdoor
street market.

Speaker 2 (03:44):
Well, she's announced it's getting a major overhaul.

Speaker 1 (03:48):

TikTok and Instagram at Sunday ninety nineties Sunday ninety nine
point one Houston's Best Variety of the eighties nineties and
today it's seven twenty one Data in the Morning and
producer Anthony, and we're asking you about maybe a feel
good story you'd like to share with us to kind

(04:28):
of give us a little hope and inspiration on a Friday.
Maybe you did something kind for someone, maybe that kindness
was offered to you. We love hearing the stories and
this is a great opportunity for you to share it
with us.

Speaker 2 (04:41):
And we've got a couple of listeners.

Speaker 1 (04:43):
Now, we've got Aaron, a flight attendant in Leak City,
cool and erin.

Speaker 2 (04:48):
Now, what's what's your feel good story?

Speaker 4 (04:51):
Well, if passengers come on, especially around the holidays, and
they come on with little goodie bags for us that
they've made wa the will with cute little stuff you
know that we love to use while we're away from home.
And then sometimes they even give us Starbucks skiff carts.

Speaker 2 (05:09):
Wow, and I feel like the worst passenger. Now I've
never done that before.

Speaker 1 (05:14):
Okay, if I were to make a body bag for
a flight attendant, what would I put in it.

Speaker 2 (05:17):
What do you guys love well, the special touch to us.

Speaker 4 (05:21):
We have to tip on our overnights, and so sometimes
they will roll up little dollar bills, like they'll stick
a dollar because we pay a dollar to go on
our overnight and a dollar to get back to the
airport every morning. And then they'll stick little things like
tide pins in there, and sandy whites and sandy calm,

(05:41):
you know, like the little stuff that you squeeze from
bath and body works and tissues and shampoo, just little
toiletry sweet little things.

Speaker 2 (05:49):
That is so nice. I love that. Oh my gosh,
that is the best.

Speaker 1 (05:54):
Okay, now you have to tell us which airline you're
a flight attendant for, because you obviously have the best
West Southwest one mys I mean that is I just
learned so much today me too.

Speaker 2 (06:06):
Best job ever. Absolutely love it. Oh, I'm so glad.
Thank you for sharing. You just made our day. Well
you guys make ours every day. Thanks for what you do.
Thanks Erin, Thank you again for listening. Bye bye.

Speaker 3 (06:17):
Let's sit over to the woodlands and speak with Larissa.
The thing that made you feel good this week, or
maybe you made someone at the office feel good or
your family.

Speaker 4 (06:26):
Yeah, my husband had dinner made almost every So this
is the first week back to work for us, and
he had dinner ready every night when I got home.

Speaker 1 (06:39):
Was that like something that you said, you know, honey,
would be really great if you do this Or did
he just do this on his own?

Speaker 2 (06:44):
No, he just did it on his own.

Speaker 1 (06:47):
Come on, that's that's just disgusting and it's making all
our husbands look bad.

Speaker 2 (06:53):
What is your husband's name?

Speaker 4 (06:55):
His name is Earl.

Speaker 2 (06:56):
Oh, that is so sweet. What kinds of things did
will make you?

Speaker 1 (07:00):
Oh? He had fried fish and shrimp one night, he had.

Speaker 4 (07:07):
Chicken and rice. He had what I can't even remember
all of them he had done.

Speaker 1 (07:14):
Though yeats and US wives claim credit that you taught him.

Speaker 2 (07:18):
Well, maybe I don't know.

Speaker 4 (07:22):
Maybe his mom did well.

Speaker 2 (07:24):
So good, Larissa, thank you Hony for sharing.

Speaker 1 (07:27):
I'm so glad you and Earl listened to Sonny, and
I'm glad you found the man of your dreams.
