Speaker 1 (00:02):
Sunday ninety nine point one Houston's Best Variety of the
eighties nineties, and today I'm Dana with producer Anthony and
the three Things you need to Know to get your Monday,
January thirteenth started, well, we're looking forward to the divisional
playoffs three thirty Kansas City gonna host it.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (00:20):
The Texans were phenomenal over the Chargers over the weekend,
thirty two to twelve. Final score, D'Angelo Ross returning a
blocked extra point for two points in the fourth quarter,
first play in the NFL postseason history. And CJ is
talking about his season with the Texans.

Speaker 3 (00:36):
I would say, all the adversary is here is really
may mean not only a better football player, but a
better just human, you know, a better man of God.
And I don't take it lightly. Really, what I did
today is just a testament to people around me. And
you know how the Lord is working on me.

Speaker 2 (00:50):
Love that that is excellent, excellent.

Speaker 1 (00:53):
And weather experts are saying La Nino is finally officially here.
Perhaps it means warmer and drier conditions once it kicks in.
It is getting the wet and the cold out of here.
But nothing dramatic because this pattern is a very weak
one this time around. And the California wildfires, while the

(01:13):
death toll now at twenty four and new urgent warning
has been put out with stronger winds on the way,
and that lone standing mansion along the ocean along the
California coast is an incredible surrounded by debris from others
that literally came down by the fires. This owner, Houston's

(01:34):
David Steiner, credits it's concrete design. It's this big, three
story white concrete mansion and the fireproof tile roof, and
he also says, and a bit of a miracle sprinkled
in there. Unbelievable. And weather today here very calm. We're
going to be comfortable. It's going to be partly sunny.
We'll go up to sixty. Right now, it's forty three

(01:56):
in uptown and you're up to date unsunny, And tell
me something good brought to us by our friends at
Goodwill Houston. Well, the Texans are looking so good as
we get ready for the divisional playoffs against Kansas City.
Fans all over, but there's one fan in particular that wins.
The Sports Illustrated twenty twenty four fan of the Year.

(02:19):
Her name Patty Cream, Actually it's Patty the Horns Cream,
and she is a devoted fan, a season ticket holder,
doubles as a member of the Bullpen, that is the
Texans' rowdiest fan section at NRG.

Speaker 2 (02:33):
Her outfit totally blinged out.

Speaker 1 (02:35):
She's got a bright smile, custom Horns cowboy hat. She
is adorable and she also does a lot of a
good will for the community. She and her husband donate
time and money to the Bridge over Troubled Waters, helping
abused and homeless people. She truly is a genuinely kind
person and a big Houston Texans fan. So she is

(02:58):
the twenty twenty four Fan of the Year. Oh, she
was so excited and she gets to go to the
Super Bowl. WHOA How amazing is that? Right, Producer Anthony
Dan This is super sweet.

Speaker 4 (03:07):
Houston Texans defensive back in Stafford graduate Jalen Petrie has
been instrumental in the community through his work with Kids Meals, Inc.
And his sponsorship of the Stafford Cobras, the youth football
team he grew up playing. Kids Meals by the Ways,
a nonprofit devoted delivering free, healthy meals to preschool kids
living in poverty and Jalen renewing his efforts with his
second annual Feed five More fundraising campaign. Last year, Jalen

(03:28):
managed to raise over one hundred thousand dollars for CONTEXT.
For every ten dollars raised that feeds five food insecure
kids in Houston. He also sponsors the Texans Huddle Ticket program,
which gives people who may not otherwise have the chance
to take in an NFL game the opportunity.

Speaker 2 (03:42):
To have their own game day experience.

Speaker 4 (03:44):
So every home game he treats his old Stafford Cobras
to tickets, food vouchers, parking passes, everything they need to
take in a Texans game. A big thank you to
Jalen Peatrie giving back to the community and showing the
next generation how it's done.

Speaker 2 (03:56):
That great, Yes it is.

Speaker 1 (03:58):
Hey, tell me something good stories. You always have it
up at sunny ninety nine dot com and you can
follow us on Facebook, ex Twitter and talk at Sunny
ninety nine Houston. Sunday Night in kom rom Houston's Best
Variety of the eighties, nineties, and Today I'm Dana with
producer Anthony and our Nearly Impossible Question. We learned that
a lot of us are not going to cheap out
on toilet paper. Toilet paper just has this thing, you know,

(04:21):
when when you need a few plies, at least at
the very minimum.

Speaker 2 (04:25):
Exactly.

Speaker 1 (04:26):
So we're asking you about the things that you will
not cheap out on, and we have got Stephen calling
in from Spring.

Speaker 2 (04:34):
What are the things that you won't cheap out on? Steven? Actually,
toilet papers number one? Toilet papers number one? Okay, what
is it? What is it about the toilet paper? Just
the way it feels. You just want a good quality
car on you it falls up? Yeah, no, all right,
So you're not going to go cheap on toilet paper.
What else? What else would be on your top three list?

Speaker 4 (04:55):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (04:56):
Okay, what do you do? What do you just get
only organic milk? I no, I get I get two
percent milk, but it just depends had some kind of
substance to it.

Speaker 1 (05:05):
Okay, substance a nice rich milk even though it's two percent.

Speaker 2 (05:08):
And what would be your number three that you're not
going to go cheap on, Steven? Todas like Coca Colac.
No knockoff brands, So you won't do the knockoff. You
got to get the brand name. The knockoffs don't have
a lot of harbernation to them too much. No, no,
sometimes okay, So what is your soda of choice? What

(05:30):
is your favorite soda? Seven?

Speaker 1 (05:32):
Wow?

Speaker 2 (05:32):
I haven't had that in a long time. Okay, So
how many about how many seven ups do you have
a day? I don't drink SODA's a lot.

Speaker 1 (05:39):
I drink a lot of water with lemon or.

Speaker 2 (05:41):
Orange fruit in it. Very smart, very smart.

Speaker 1 (05:44):
But yeah, for a nice little kick, a little pick
me up would be a seven up, very nice.

Speaker 2 (05:48):
You don't want to doctor thunders or any any of
that stuff.

Speaker 4 (05:51):
No, No, club soda is good.

Speaker 1 (05:54):
You can doctor it up how you.

Speaker 2 (05:55):
Want, Yes, you could, right.

Speaker 1 (05:57):
Well, it's so nice to talk to you. How did
you find Stephen? How long have you been listening to us?
I've been listening to you guys for so long it's
not even funny. You guys waking me up every morning.
I listen to you guys all night long.

Speaker 2 (06:08):
I'm so glad that just makes our day.

Speaker 1 (06:11):
Thank you so much, and I'm glad we are here
for you first thing in the morning every morning.

Speaker 2 (06:15):
Appreciate it.

Speaker 1 (06:16):
