All I love it so much.

Speaker 1 (02:44):
And the new iHeartRadio App. They have designed it so
it is just like your car radio. It's like vintage,
but it's in the palm of your hand. It's got
the presets it it's the most beautiful app that they
have improved. It was our Christmas gift. It really was
still totally free. I love it, and I just think
about how important it is was for me in my

(03:08):
childhood to listen to the radio wherever we went, music
and my favorite DJs. I mean literally, I have memories
when I was eight years old listening to Harry Harrison
in New York City on WABC. Oh wow, yeah, I
mean it was just so so Now technology has changed,
but not I mean now we just have our car

(03:29):
radio in the palm of our hands.

Speaker 2 (03:32):
And it's so true.

Speaker 1 (03:33):
And you guys are loving this new iHeartRadio app. And
we encourage you to reset your preset. You know you've
got your favorite.

Speaker 2 (03:41):

podcast as well.

Love you guys, listen to you every morning on the
way to school.

Speaker 2 (03:54):
That's a great point too, though, Dean.

Speaker 3 (03:56):
You can also set your podcast as a preset as well.

Speaker 1 (03:59):
Yes, yes, and and Erica said this about it every morning.

Speaker 2 (04:03):
Have you guys has preset number one on iHeartRadio? Thank you, Yes,
thank you Erica.

Speaker 1 (04:09):
But for a feel good Friday, I just had to
share with you Maria's thoughts.

Happy Champagne Friday, y'all. I have said my preset.

Speaker 1 (04:19):
My number one always yes, in my heart and in
my Heart Radio app. I see Maria, Thank you, thank you.
So here's the deal. So I started thinking about the
team that put this together. I mean, these are real
people who put this together that I ask them.

Speaker 2 (04:36):
I read the Bible every morning.

Speaker 1 (04:37):
It's what's caused me great calm and peace in my
thirty four years of getting up between two and three
in the morning. And I asked the team if they
would let me read the Bible from front to back.
Oh wow, and post it on the iHeartRadio app. Brian
Check was my contact. He is the greatest guy, and
he said, Dana, the team loves it.

Speaker 2 (04:59):
Get busy.

Speaker 3 (05:00):
I like that a series of because for some like
for somebody who wants to tackle the Bible, that can
be done.

Speaker 1 (05:05):
Yes, And while you're driving to work you can listen
and I turn it into an adventure with my voice.

Speaker 2 (05:10):
That's what you need.

Speaker 1 (05:11):
Finishing up Genesis now will keep you posted on it.
If you haven't downloaded it yet, do it. You will
love it. iHeartRadio dot com tell me something good. Brought
to us by our friends at Goodwill Houston. Our Texas
restaurants are like Taylor Swift. They just keep getting better.
Forty one Texas restaurants and chefs have been named semifinalists

(05:32):
in the prestigious James Beard Award categories, and I do
want to focus on some of the chefs here in
the Houston area. We've got under the Best Chef category
Belly of the Beast Thomas Billy, also Beatrice Martinez now
the Belly of the Beast by the way, that's in
Spring Beatrice Martinez at Zellisco. I've been to that restaurant.

(05:56):
I don't know if I'm saying it right. It's in
the Woodlands right by the mall. It is incredible. And
then I also want to mention the Bakery Coffeteria, the
only bakery in Houston to be nominated for this prestigious award.

Speaker 2 (06:11):
So congratulations.

Speaker 1 (06:13):
Let's see, they're all going to be announced April second,
all the names and then the winners will be crowned.
On June sixteenth, Producer Anthony Dane, we announced our own
Bluebell would be bringing back that cane cake flavor ahead
of Marty gral Well. There's a new flavor that recently
popped up and it's aimed at fans of a tasty
treat that you might have in your pantry right now.
It's Strawberry toaster pastry flavor, which they describe as a

(06:36):
creamy vanilla ice cream mixed with strawberry pastry pieces, confetti sprinkles,
and swirls of strawberry sauce and white icings. It's now
available in pine Tis containers at all of these where
Bluebell is sold. So pop Tarts fans rejoice. The strawberry
toaster pastry flavor is now in stores. Friday is my
HV day. I will be on the lookout. Oh my god,
it sounds so gosh darn goods. All right, in the

(06:59):
category of sweets. Let's continue with that. I do want
to mention that bakery that's been nominated for the James
Beard Award. The bakery I mentioned Coweteria with a K.
It's this small bakery downtown and the owner, Vanerin Cook.
He is a child of Cambodian refugees. He was born poor.

(07:21):
He says, I have learned to adapt and pivot. He
started this bakery during the pandemic. He says, he's scrappy.
And really it's the only Houston restaurant nominated in the
Outstanding Bakery category. And we've got some amazing bakeriyes. So
this one is like premiere. And I looked at the
menu Anthony London, fog Roll, Apple Bottom Queen, Double Thick

(07:45):
chocolate chip cookies, hell Me please, WHOA.

and we weren't explained with a kids.

Speaker 2 (08:40):
That is excellent.

Speaker 1 (08:40):
Now, you being a photographer, you must have captured some
incredible pictures of our snow days. I did any any
picture that really stood out that maybe you can make
a maybe make a book like snow Days twenty twenty five.

Speaker 4 (08:55):
Oh, I have lots of books that's work for every occasion.
So definitely a book about the snow it's coming.

Speaker 1 (09:02):
Yes, that is that's so cool and I love that.
So tell us about your kids. I know you're a
state at home mom. How many kids do you have?

Speaker 4 (09:09):
I have a fourteen year old and a six year old.

my mom. My mom is a big fan.

Speaker 1 (09:39):

And now you're a mom. Yes that is, Ursula.

Speaker 1 (09:44):
Thank you so much for sharing. Have fun with your kids.
And when you get that book done, you have to
share all. That's okay, I will all right, We'll have
a great day.

Speaker 2 (09:53):

Speaker 3 (09:56):
Let's sit over to the west side and speak with
a middle school teacher.

Speaker 1 (09:59):
Meredith, did you have some fun encounters with your students
when they went back to school yesterday, like talking about
the snow.

Speaker 2 (10:08):
Was there any story that really stood out to you?

Speaker 4 (10:10):
Oh my gosh, everybody was talking about flooding and what
they used to go flooding.

Speaker 1 (10:14):
Okay, what were some of That's like the top three?
So it was trash, candlet, cook sheets, oh wow, and cardboard. Yeah,
cardboard was out and probably I bet you have. You
have so many things that kids can write about after
they're experiencing snow days in Houston, Texas.

Speaker 4 (10:34):
Right.

Speaker 2 (10:34):
Oh yes, excellent Meredith, thank you for sharing. Glad you
