We've got a local girl here with a YouTube channel
devoted to creating your own thrifty repurposed fashion looks. Her
name is Lena mccullor and she's the creator of the
channel Blueprint DIY. She says she would see girls go
thrifting or taking clothes out of their closet and making alterations. Well,
her mom taught her how to sew when she was
just eight years old, and she wanted to make sure
(03:38):
everyone knew how to do this. Her channel has a
masked close to half a million subscribers, and even so,
it inspired her to create her own streetwear line, Blueprint Signature.
They sell everything from bags to scourge jogger pants, backpacks,
tons of unique pieces, and she says it's more than
just fashion. When you actually have garments that suit your
own style and your own personality, it makes a world
of difference. So if you're in a fixing up clothes
(03:58):
or been wanting to learn, check out one of h
town zone on YouTube. The channel is called Blueprint DIIY.
Speaker 1 (04:04):
I love that the Oh my gosh, I love that
so much. Okay, this story, it starts out tragic, but there.
Speaker 2 (04:10):
Is becoming a happy ending.
Speaker 1 (04:13):
Back in October of last year, Joel Bromberg lost his
life his home on fire.
Speaker 2 (04:18):
He died in the fire.
Speaker 1 (04:20):
He was one of those guys who had just taken
abandoned stray dogs. He actually had ten, well, he had eleven,
but one dog died in the fire. Ten others were
able to escape. So then there was this Mozelle Hindle,
a neighbor who just loved what he was doing, and
she was determined to find forever homes for these friends,
and she's been working on it now.
Speaker 2 (04:41):
One of the dogs had eight puppies.
Speaker 1 (04:44):
Those puppies are now on their way to a home
in Wisconsin.
Speaker 2 (04:48):
Three dogs have been adopted. Seven dogs left behind.
Speaker 1 (04:52):
Very timid, but if you would like to maybe at
least foster them.
Speaker 2 (04:56):
Anthony, you had a very timid dog in Lily.
Speaker 1 (04:59):
Yep.
Speaker 2 (04:59):
It is transformed her life with love.
Speaker 3 (05:02):
You have the power. We have the power to do that.
Speaker 1 (05:04):
So there is a Facebook page setup. It's called fire
Dog's ht X. You might want to check it out.
Speaker 3 (05:11):
What a great idea, isn't it though?
Speaker 1 (05:12):
And Mozelle just a great effort to try to bring
a happy ending to that tragedy. By the way, we

Speaker 1 (05:32):
At today, I'm Dana with producer Anthony on our Facebook.
We're asking you about you know, you go on vacation,
who do you trust to take care of your furry friends?
What we learned this morning the majority of us only
trust family man family. Yeah, that was our nearly impossible question.
Answer Lisa checking out Facebook at Sunday ninety nine Houston.
Speaker 2 (05:51):
She says, I don't go out of town. I trust
no one.
Speaker 3 (05:54):
That's what did I just say With Lily?
Speaker 1 (05:56):
I know. Denise says, Grandma and Grandpa that is us
for our grand pup. And then Sheila uses their vet.
Also has a boarding establishment next door. That way, if
anything happens, her vet is right there.
Speaker 3 (06:08):
That's convenient.
Speaker 1 (06:09):
And we're asking you who takes care of your furry
friends when you go on vacation spring break. Right around
the corner, we've got Fred calling in from Sugarland.
Speaker 2 (06:18):
Neffred, you're a pet sitter.
Speaker 3 (06:20):
Oh cool?
Speaker 2 (06:21):
So what is your life like?
Speaker 4 (06:22):
Oh it's great.
Speaker 6 (06:23):
I don't have to deal with the pets other than
you know, getting paid to stay at people's houses.
Speaker 4 (06:28):
When I go home. I have no hair, have no pets.
It's wonderful. It's a blessing.
Speaker 1 (06:32):
Wow, it's a kind of pet sitter who actually goes
to their house.
Speaker 6 (06:36):
Yes, yeah, then stay overnight and watch the dogs, the cats,
check the mail.
Speaker 4 (06:40):
Get the packages.
Speaker 6 (06:40):
Gotta keep the package from the porch powers. So I'll
tell you the package from the porch powers.
Speaker 4 (06:44):
And everybody's happy.
Speaker 1 (06:45):
You know, you must have created a lot of trust
in your neighborhood for people to, you know, invite you
into their homes, take care of their furry friends, take
in the mail.
Speaker 2 (06:55):
How did you accomplish that?
Speaker 6 (06:57):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (06:57):
Just being cute and smelling good.
Speaker 6 (06:58):
It's the colomb and I'm a good looking guy, and
I'm kind of funny.
Speaker 4 (07:03):

Speaker 3 (07:04):
Sometimes I get that telling you.
Speaker 2 (07:06):
I mean, you have a guy like Fred taking care
of my pets. It's kind of priceless to me.
Speaker 3 (07:12):
I know they're in good hands.
Speaker 4 (07:13):
Oh yeah, Trooper's on the job.
Speaker 6 (07:14):
And plus I just dropped them my clients off at
at the airport I called the Unstreaming airport Bush Airports.
Speaker 4 (07:21):
I'm just driving back from there now in Bank sugar Lands.
Speaker 1 (07:24):

of the client's pets and you bring the client to
the airport, you are something else.
Speaker 4 (07:31):
Yeah, they both work hand in hand.
Speaker 6 (07:33):
They got the parents of the pets at home. They
need to leave the car in the garage. I can
drop them off and then everybody saves money and they
get home and.
Speaker 4 (07:40):
Get back to the airport and home safely.
Speaker 1 (07:44):
Is it just word of mouth or do you actually
advertise your skills on social media?
Speaker 4 (07:49):
Yeah, it's both.
Speaker 6 (07:50):
