If you weren't aware, we had a group of angels
working over at the Golf Center of Sea Turtle Research.
The center is located down on Pelican Island near Galveston
and it's been helping our precious turtles for the last
few years. The center was approved by the A and
M Regents back in twenty nineteen and their mission, alongside research,
is to help nurse our local sea turtles back to health.
Their director of Research, doctor Chris Marshall, explained that sea
(03:09):
turtles get cold stunned when our ocean waters dippleo fifty degrees,
which leads to a whole host of issues. He says,
they stop swimming, float to the service, they become at risk.
We're being hit by boats. They even get prostpied or pneumonia.
So it makes the work they're doing even more important.
So a big thank you to all those people working
at the Golf Center of Sea Turtle Research helping protect
not only our ecosystem, but in turn helping even more
(03:29):
