Speaker 1 (00:00):
Sunday ninety nine point one Houston's best Variety of.

Speaker 2 (00:02):
The eighties nineties.

Speaker 1 (00:03):
And today I'm Dana with producer Anthony and we've got
the three things you need to know to get your
feel good good. Friday, April third started. Now, there was
toilet trouble.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
It was an absolutely spectacular.

Speaker 1 (00:15):
Launch, but then astronaut Christina Cook said, uh, oh, problem
with the toilet in the orion capsule lock area or
the toilet area.

Speaker 2 (00:25):
It was a toilet fan that was jammed.

Speaker 1 (00:27):
Ground teams here in Houston came up with some instructions
to clear.

Speaker 2 (00:31):
It and it works. Wow.

Speaker 1 (00:33):
Good to go for their ten day journey around the
Moon and back home. Now, yesterday we learned Houston had
surpassed Austin as the cool Texas city and people are
really flocking here. Hotel bookings on pace to break records
in March up more than twelve percent, best March our
city has ever seen.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
Now, with that good news, we kind of have some
bad news.

Speaker 1 (00:55):
We're gonna have to dig deeper into our pockets for
Texans season tickets, and Mike Tommins says the ticket prices
are going up about ten percent, but it's still a
great deal.

Speaker 3 (01:06):
We are below the average ticket price in the NFL,
even though we have one of the largest markets and
we've been in the playoffs for the last number eight years.
And so while we're balancing those pieces and looking at
kind of those drivers, we're trying to be really sensitive
on the price sidey.

Speaker 1 (01:24):
Ten percent like five percent, yeah, right or no percent
and no percent?

Speaker 2 (01:30):
Right?

Speaker 1 (01:30):
Your weather today, We've got lots of clouds, could see
some showers today, mainly this morning. It should clear up
by this afternoon, going up to eighty four. Lots of
rain tomorrow, clearing up on your Easter Sunday. Love a
high of sixty five, like I said today though eighty
four for your high right now seventy three and uptown
and you're up to date today Sunday ninety nine point
one with data in the morning.

Speaker 2 (01:53):
Tell me something good.

Speaker 1 (01:54):
Brought to us by our friends at Goodwill Houston and boy,
it has been confirmed. David Eslinger. He's been waiting a
year to get the confirmation of his record breaking catch
of an eight hundred and eighty four pound blue fin tuna.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
He caught it in the golf last year.

Speaker 1 (02:14):
It was officially confirmed by the Texas Parks and Wildlife
as a new state record. He landed the fish April
tenth of twenty twenty five. He was with his buddies.
They were absolutely shocked when that fish got close to
the boat.

Speaker 2 (02:26):
I mean the thing is huge. I bet they were like,
oh my god, screaming.

Speaker 1 (02:31):
Previous record was eight hundred and seventy six pounds, and
that is pretty amazing.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
Matthew sor Anthony.

Speaker 4 (02:38):
Wright Dan bought Goodwill Houston out here doing good again.

their next career move, and our friends in Goodwill Houston

Coast Guard. Fleetweek is coming to Houston, first time it's
in a Texas city. It's April fifteenth through the twenty second.
There's going to be ship tours at the Port a
Port of Houston, a parade of ships at Seawolf Park,

with producer Anthony Here. It is now seventy ten on
our feel good Good Friday and weather yep, we're gonna
have a couple of showers to start things off. It
should clear up though by this afternoon and then we'll
go up to eighty four.

Speaker 2 (04:15):
Now, we've got a lot of rain.

Speaker 1 (04:17):
The heavy rain supposed to happen tomorrow afternoon at five,
so just be weather aware and that rain's going to
go right through the night into eastern morning, but it
should clear up on Easter Day and we'll have a
high of only sixty five.

Speaker 2 (04:31):
We've got that cooler weather on the way. And right now.

Speaker 1 (04:34):
It is seventy three in Uptown and today is our
feel good Friday. And Anthony, I have this friend out
in the Woodlands. Her name is Linda Nelson, and she
is one of the kindest, most incredibly strong, wonderful women
and she is a big force in there in the
Pink Luncheon that they have every October, and it is

(04:56):
the most It's where I met the fonnds. I mean,
I've met so many Joan London was out there.

Speaker 2 (05:01):
Oh yeah, that's the event.

Speaker 1 (05:02):
Incredible guests, and they have given me the honor in
years past to mc that event, and I'm always very grateful.

Speaker 2 (05:09):
I'm thinking, Wow, I can't believe I get to do this.

Speaker 1 (05:11):
You get to meet these people and it's an honor
and it's the most beautiful crowd of dedicated people trying.

Speaker 2 (05:18):
It's it's breast cancer.

Speaker 1 (05:21):
It's it's just an amazing event, and it takes a
lot of work. And I had the honor of her
emailing me, want to do it again?

Speaker 2 (05:28):
I mean, what what month are we in it?

Speaker 1 (05:32):
And she's already planning and asked me if I would
do it again, And I was like, Linda, I would be.
So all these years you're still asking me.

Speaker 2 (05:39):
That's an honor. I said, yes, big heart, can't wait.

Speaker 4 (05:44):
So I'm already looking forward to October of next I
feel that same way too, like all these years, surely
you want to get somebody.

Speaker 1 (05:50):
Else or do this.

Speaker 2 (05:53):
That's it's just we all connect it is.

Speaker 1 (05:56):
You get into that room and it is the most
profoundly spiritual experience. You have doctors who come up at
doctors whose wives have experienced breast cancer.

Speaker 2 (06:07):
For sure, they share it from their heart.

Speaker 1 (06:09):
Last year, Anthony, there was a doctor who self who
works with women with breast cancer, and she had breast cats.

Speaker 2 (06:15):
She was going through.

Speaker 4 (06:16):
Yeah, yeah, this was an event that this is an
event that you you always walk away with something from
you know what I mean?

Speaker 2 (06:22):
And I love hearing those stories you really do. So
that was my good news story this week.

Speaker 1 (06:27):
We'd love to hear if you've got a good news
story someone reaching out to you that just delighted you.
Maybe you were able to do that for someone else. Now,
we've been having troubles with our phone, so let's try
give us a call see if you can get through.
Seven one three two one two five ninety nine one
Sunday ninety nine point one Houston's Best Variety of the
eighties nineties and today I'm Dana with producer Anthony on

(06:49):
a feel good good Ay. Where we're starting at with
some showers, then it should clear up this afternoon. Hi's

around five o'clock tomorrow afternoon, should clear up by Easter afternoon.

Speaker 2 (07:02):

Speaker 1 (07:03):
Right now, it's seventy four in Uptown and it is
our feel good Friday. But our phones aren't working, so
thank goodness. On the iHeartRadio app, you can still reach
out to us using the talkback mike. We're asking you
what's making you feel good today? Maybe you made someone
else feel good and I love some of the responses
We got here. Diana shout out to Courtney in pair Land.

(07:26):
Excited because Deane, she gets to have clean sheets today.
It's a laundry day for me, so I'm very excited.
You happen to clean sheets, a perfectly made bed.

Speaker 2 (07:35):
There's nothing like clean underwear and socks. I'm sorry you.
I love that He's not wrong at all.

Speaker 4 (07:42):
We also want to say hello to Aubrey sending us
something out of sugar Land. Aubrey, Oh, this is exciting.
Her dog's getting the cone off today.

Speaker 2 (07:50):
Gay, my dog gets off his cone. So we're really
excited because this cone, it's just it feels like the
cone of shame, even though it's not. So.

Speaker 1 (08:00):
Yeah, we were really happy and we've got a that appointment.

Speaker 2 (08:03):
Real sare you know about this thing?

Speaker 1 (08:05):
Just my son's dog. You just got a cone and
Bunny's bumping into things. It's so uncomfortable. I know, those
poor things. So that is some great news.

Speaker 4 (08:13):
And we want to also want to shout out Eileen
from a Katie and hers is really simple dance.

Speaker 2 (08:18):
She made the perfect cup of coffee. You know what,
I made the most perfect cup of.

Speaker 3 (08:23):
Coffee this morning, man.

Speaker 1 (08:25):
And sometimes it's.

Speaker 2 (08:26):
The little thing it's that that right there. It is
the little things.

Speaker 1 (08:29):
Yeah, I wanted to make you whip up a little
bit of raw milk, all up, put that in the coffee.

Speaker 4 (08:35):
Yes, a little bit of honey, Eileen, I need to
know your recipe.

Speaker 2 (08:39):
I love it.

Speaker 1 (08:40):
That is a feel good Friday right there. I'm Sunday
naety nine point one.

Speaker 2 (08:45):
Sunny, naughty nine point one with Danna in the morning.

Speaker 1 (08:48):
Here's what's trending right now in Acetown. The launch of
Artemists two an amazing success. The four astronauts were able
to get that toilet working again thanks to help from
Houston at Johnson's Space. So then you start thinking, there's
four people living in a pretty small space for ten days.
They're going to eat together. So I was curious about
the menu. We'll check this out. They've got mac and cheese, barbecue, beef, brisket, broccoli,

(09:14):
o grotten tropical fruit salad, fifty eight totias.

Speaker 2 (09:18):
I don't know why it's fifty eight tortillas.

Speaker 1 (09:19):
Very specific on the menu. Yep, everything's ready to eat.
No air fryer on board, like you like, nothing that
needs to go in a refrigerator for dessert.

Speaker 2 (09:29):
To get cookies chocolate and pudding. Wowber, it's only ten days.

Speaker 1 (09:33):
I mean, I'm sure they'll do great, but still, it's
nice to know that they've got such a variety. Yeah
menu onboard Artemis too, and we're just praying for a
safe return after they do that lunar tour and come
back home. It'll be about ten days, and that's what's
trending here in Houston and beyond. I'm Sunday nightety nine
point one
