Speaker 1 (01:36):
Crazy, say give us your good news, tell me something
good brought to us by our friends at Goodwill Houston. Well,
he is an accomplished pediatric surgeon at UTMB in Galveston,
and now he's got a hobby that's enabling him to
use his medical skills to help other people. His name

(01:58):
is doctor Harold Pine, and he recently visited Mount Everest.
Now he hasn't climbed it yet, that's going to happen.
He has climbed five of the world's so called seven summits,
the highest peak in each continent. What he has done
at Mount Everest, though, is he brought his medical tools
and he's helping the residents at the base of Mount

(02:21):
Everest and then he's like, I'm doing it.

Speaker 2 (02:23):
I'm going to climb Mount Evers yep. So he's going
to do that, and then after that it's the Denali
in Alaska.

Speaker 1 (02:30):
And so congratulations, doctor Harold Pine, thank you for helping
out the kids in Galveston. And now he's helping out
people beyond his scope. So that's pretty cool turning his
hobby into something really helpful.

Speaker 2 (02:43):
Producer Anthony Dan.

Speaker 4 (02:44):
We all saw the story recently of that roller coaster
in Galveston. Malfunction stranded eight Houston students gosh yes, one
hundred feet in the air, and the rescue operation by
our Galveston firefighters required hours of planning, improvisation patients to
prevent what could have become a tragedy. It was the
Iron Shark roller coaster at the Pleasure Pier. It stopped
just short of its highest point and the riots emergency

(03:05):
evacuation elevator was also at of service, so they utilized
their one hundred and five foot ladder truck and their
first priority was reassuring the kids they were joking with them,
explaining every step of the process. They fitted each student
day with a safety harness before releasing the roller coaster restraints.
I know I'm sweating thinking about it. They eventually get
them all safely back to the ground. And what's cool

(03:26):
day is hearing how this whole ordeal may have even
potentially inspired a future career choice. They might become a
future firefighter. So big thank you to our incredible galves
and firefighters not just saving lives but inspiring the next
generation while doing it.

Speaker 2 (03:39):
That is unbelievable. And hey, maybe you want to go visit.

Speaker 1 (03:42):

or Mount Everest. We are going to make that happen

Sunday ninety nine point one, Houston's best variety in the eighties, nineties,
and today I'm Dana with producer Anthony. So it is

(04:37):
the first day of June, and it's going to be
hot and sunny. We might see the shower. We're gonna
go up to ninety two. Right now, it's seventy eight
in Uptown. We learned in our Nearly Impossible Question that
what was at fifteen percent, Anthony of couples have broken
up because of the way that you guys dressed. Now,
it does need to be that way, but sometimes if
you're digging your heels and you're like, I'm not changing

(04:58):
who I am, Babe. I love you, but this is
who I am. Kind of like Adam Sandler, you know
the way Adam Sandler dresses.

Speaker 4 (05:05):
He's, oh yeah, he is not going to change. Showing
up like the fanciest offense that is his normal.

Speaker 1 (05:11):
His wife's movie from recently sweatshirt and baggy pants.

Speaker 2 (05:15):
But that's him and I know, I know.

Speaker 1 (05:17):
So it just depends you're gonna let him be him
or you do want him to be more like what
you want. And Anthony, you went through this. I did, Yes,
I know she was gentle. Oh yeah, but but to
be fair, I needed it though. I like, I think
she took like she saw the potential there and when
I when I gave it a chance, I was like, yo,
this is actually yes. But all I had to do

(05:39):
was have that faith that hey, and it's like you
said earlier, she had my best interest.

Speaker 4 (05:43):
So men, just let trusting the process, and look what happened.
I benefited, I know. And you know Bob and I
married forty years. He now his natural inclination is to
go the way that he should have gone forty years ago.

Speaker 2 (05:57):
But I taught him. He learned well.

Speaker 1 (05:59):
And now it's just so funny how that works. Just
it's called long suffering love. Long shang in there. You know,
you don't want to nag them. You just kind of
want them to figure think that they figured it out.

Speaker 4 (06:11):
Oh yeah, they they got to that on their own.

Speaker 2 (06:15):
Dah. I know you can do it.

Speaker 1 (06:17):
What about you have, is your your partner kind of
you know, it could go both ways with ladies too.

Speaker 2 (06:23):
Maybe the guy doesn't like the way that she dresses.
It's true. What do you think?

Speaker 1 (06:27):
Seven one three, two, one two five ninety nine one
Sunday ninety nine point one Houston's Best Variety of the eighties,
nineties and Today with Dana in the Morning.

Speaker 2 (06:34):
And producer Anthony.

Speaker 1 (06:35):
First day at June beautiful, sunny and hot as it
should be. We're going to go up to ninety two.
Might see a shower right now, it's seventy eight in uptown.
We're talking about how couples break up because she just
can't handle the way he dresses. We learned that fifty
percent of couples that's the case. We look at our
nearly impossible questions.

Speaker 2 (06:53):
We're asking you.

Speaker 1 (06:54):
We've got Joey, excuse me, calling in from northwest Houston
working in the IT world. Now you've been and Heather
have been married for twelve years. Did she kind of
help you make improvements? Or was she happy with you
Joey just the way you are?

Speaker 5 (07:12):
No, of course not no. You know how to beef
up a lot of things, So yeah, I love it.

Speaker 4 (07:20):
Some way.

Speaker 1 (07:21):
Yeah, about about the way that you dressed Joey, how
did she handle that part of your life?

Speaker 5 (07:27):
Hmmm, yeah, yeah she did. She bought me more things.
She bought me stuff like, you don't have any kind
of slacks, you don't have any kind of dress up cloth?

Speaker 1 (07:37):
You know? I love it.

Speaker 2 (07:38):
I see.

Speaker 1 (07:39):
Joey's one of those ones they're not going to split
up because Joey's open to the criticism of Heather because
you trusted her and loved her right and you knew
she had the best she had the best intentions for you.

Speaker 2 (07:52):
That's right, all excellent, Joey. What did you guys do
on your twelfth anniversary?

vineyards and stuff. Did you find any place special where

Honestly, it was we just kind of hopped around. We
went to several different ones. We went into town and
then we did a ghost tour. We did a bunch
of things.

Joey Will congratulations to you and Heather. And it sounds
like you guys have a really fun time together.
