(00:02):
Good morning. I'm Tony Cruz alongwith Mike Llions from CNM military analyst and
Mike. The latest coming in thatthe US Secret Service had intelligence indicating that
there was a I don't know, emminent threat and an Iranian threat for sure
on Donald Trump's life. Tell usa little bit more about how they discovered
(00:22):
this if he can. Yeah, good morning, Tonio. This report comes
out of the intelligence community saying thatwith Donald Trump, along with others Mike
Pompeio, Robert O'Brien, others withinhis administration had been targeted for Iranian assassiation
assassination plots. You have to question, though, why now, why this
is coming out right now? There'sgoing obviously from what happened, you know,
(00:45):
last weekend, there's going to bea tremendous pushback on the Secret Service,
and I think they're doing everything theycan to try to show kind of
their side of the story about howdifficult it is to protect the president here.
So I mean the president and DonaldTrump gets threats not only from Oranian
state back type of operations, butbut other terrorist organizations. So there's multiple
people that want to kill the presidentthere, President Trump. The question is,
(01:08):
you know why did they pick aroun here and why specifically? Is
it? Is that the case andthat's the way they're going down. I
do think they're gonna there's gonna doa lot more detail come out about this.
Hopefully we will be able to seethat now as I understand it.
They have said that Thomas Matthews Crooksthey don't believe was aligned in this situation.
What are your thoughts about that? You know, there's there's a thousands
(01:30):
of brute tapes now one this versusobviously what happened for JFK, And there's
so many things that you know couldhave went that lynchpin thing we talked about
about, you know, something changes, you know, the position of his
head changes, and we've all seenthat video as well. But but the
the the some of the things thathave been said though by the Secret Service
just don't kind of add up rightnow, about the slopes of roofs and
(01:53):
and and the like with with youknow, who he's in touch with,
how he was allowed to get sofar in. We know the Secret Service
did not want Trump doing these outsiderallies. We knew that that was also
part of it, whether they ornot they you know, we saw the
Secret Service detail that was on youknow, on video there, we saw
that we didn't isn't necessarily see that. It's plucked up, so to speak.
(02:15):
So again, I think there's goingto be a lot of covering for
the Secret Service right now until theyfinally decide, you know, how this
breach of service, how this breachof security took place in how this person
was outside just just outside of thatperimeter of one hundred and fifty yards there,
and that he was allowed to getthose shots off. The New York
Times said that local police were inthe same warehouse complex when Crooks was either
(02:40):
there or up already, maybe onthe roof. I just and you've seen
the videos. I mean, youknow a lot of people were telling the
police officers about this situation. Howcome there was such a detachment between the
local police getting that information before PresidentTrump took to the podium. Yeah,
it doesn't square at all, especiallysince that that was reported that he had
(03:04):
a weapon, and he should havebeen taken off the podium right away,
and given the Secret Services concern abouthim doing these outside rallies. Anyway,
there's they've they've been pushing up mysources telling me that They were trying to
get him to stop doing these fromthe very beginning because because of the amount
of work it does take in ordersecure they've got to get in much earlier
in terms of forty eight seventy twohours to clear these areas here in this
(03:27):
case, is there's a gap inthat in that security perimeter. But having
you know, individuals inside the buildingwhile the guy's crawling on top just doesn't
make any sense at all. Yeah, it really does not. This is
not the only time Iran has goneafter obviously probably a leader, but they're
going after people that have fled Ironfor example. See these stories, particularly
(03:53):
with some New Yorkers trying to eliminatethese people Americans. Now, yeah,
and again we know that there wasa plot against John Bolton as well,
and it all has to do withthe retaliation against the Solemoni's assassination. But
for Iran to be involved with this, they know it would as if the
fingerprints are anywhere near it would wouldbe really significant. The only thing I
(04:16):
can think of is they use Iranhere because Iran also knows that their days
are numbered with any kind of favorablestatus of the United States is going to
have if Joe Biden is not reelected president. They're getting a pass on
literally everything right now, and theyknow Trump comes back and that everything starts
over, the sanctions will start,Iran will go back and have some challenges.
(04:40):
So maybe that's why that the Iraniansare trying to insert themselves into this
process because they know that their daysare numbered as a favorable US ally here.
So how has the Biden administration beenfavored towards Iran or some of them
about Oh, I just think it'sit's this Obama to Dot H with regard
to the the nuclear deal, gettingtrying trying to get the nuclear deal back
(05:03):
on track, trying to get somekind of agreement with the Uranians that are
going there. They they're involved withso many different things that are obvious with
the Israel, for example, shippingweapons to enemy states there, and they
just get a pass. So Idon't see that, you know, that's
not going to happen with the Trumpadministration. They've lifted many sanctions, They've
(05:25):
given the Uranians much more market spaceand much more capitals with regard to you
know, how they're moving forward. We're talking to my clients who is a
military analyst with the CNN and manymore. Does a lot of work on
podcasts. Do you have your ownpodcast? Do you have, Mike?
Now, I'm working a couple ofdifferent podcasts. There's a couple different people
who know not I have my ownRight now, I'm trying to put something
(05:45):
out called Area of Operations, basicallytaking a look at the world and what's
going on from a military perspective. So hopefully they get that out in a
couple of weeks here, that'd begreat Area of operations. What a great
title? The trade market right now? Yeah, AO, that's going to
call it Total of the AO.I did see on CNN that Hungary's Prime
Minister Victor Orbon, who has metwith the President Trump what a week or
(06:09):
two ago, is ready to actas a peace broker between Russia and Ukraine
if elected. What is that goingto look like? And is this a
good good way to walk things upor what are your thoughts about that?
Well? I think you know, getting both sides sit down is still going
to be challenging because Russia will thinkthat they have this advantage just based on
their size and what they could stillbring to the table and anything that the
(06:31):
Ukraine agrees to that's less than whatthey've considered to be total victory, which
is gaining back to twenty percent oftheir land. Masks will be considered a
loss. The question, you know, with this new administration, if the
Trump administration is put into place there, what would they do. He would
want to negotiate some kind of deallike that. He would want in Ukraine
to give something up. The questionis what would Russia give up? But
(06:55):
I think that's all good if wecan move that in that direction, because
neither side is accomplishing neither of theirobjectives right now, and it's just only
going to lead to much more deathand destruction. Yeah, the former president
said that Putin's terms for an agreement, which would include a Ukraine seating the
four territories currently occupied by Russia, are not acceptable. Well, I think
(07:18):
for Ukraine they have to come upwith some other solution that would ensure their
security. It might mean in thefuture getting more assurances from the West when
it comes to defense. They justdon't want this to happen again. But
again, it also gets back towho the leader of Russia is at the
time. You know, the bottomline is this is all Vladimir Putin driven
(07:40):
with regard to this invasion of Ukraine, and if they could get some assurances
of that going forward, that maybethat Ukraine would agree to that. Then
what are we seeing in Israel inyour view? And are we going to
be able to ever get this thingto close in the near future. It's
fun under the radar of the pastcouple of weeks from what's going on the
United States. But Israel is lookingto bring total war still to Gaza,
(08:05):
and now it's more or less impactingthe civilians like it did during World War
Two with the Allies against the Germans. But it's not stopping the Israeli is
because they want some kind of surrenderagreement from Amas. This all this talk
about cease fires off the table aswe've seen now, and you had our
presidents saying that we're really close toa peace deal. We're no close to
(08:26):
a peace still there then when thiswhole thing started. So Israel's going to
continue to put pressure on the civilianpopulation there in order to find these military
leaders and get somebody from harmasas surrenderon their terms. Flipping back to something
that you said a little bit earlier, particularly when it as it pertains to
Iran, They're not only causing problemsfor US troops that are maybe embedded there
(08:50):
in Syria, but obviously they're givingmoney to Hesba Lah and or arms supplying
that, and then of course itcould be really a crisis there with what
the hoodies are doing there around theRed Seat area. They're already attacking our
own navy right now. At whatpoint do you say enough enough and you
(09:13):
do something to make sure that Irangets the message here? Yeah, the
hohosis In facts are and they havenot stopped, and they continue to gain
more capability, and it just goesto show you the fact that they've with
tens of thousands of rockets that theyhave at their arsenal. It's going to
take an offensive operation US going andattacking above and beyond just being in response
(09:35):
to these attacks. Was it goingto take for the run? I just
don't know. This new president elect, Masud Peshkikin is trying to articulate some
kind of foreign policy. I thinkthat it's going to continue the hardline policies
of the past, although he wantsto present himself more as a reformist.
It just doesn't it's not going tohappen. I mean the religious influence in
(09:56):
Iran is still the same as itwas in nineteen seventy seven, ninety seventy
eight with regard to the leaders ofthat country. The hardlines are still there.
So he can he can present himselfas a reformist all he wants.
But I just I just don't thinkthat the United States, in particular the
Trump administration, the people coming inare not going to buy it. Yeah,
we've heard of mut or it's therebefore, and it's it's not worked.
(10:16):
Yeah, Mike, always appreciate yourtime. Thanks for spending so much
of it with us this morning, and hope we can talk again soon.
