Speaker 1 (00:00):
Good morning. I'm Tony Cruz with Dwight Mitchell from the
Louisville Metro Police Department spokesmen. Extraordinary and Dwight appreciate you
joining us this morning.
Speaker 2 (00:09):
Oh well, I always appreciate being on. Tony been out
the last couple of weeks, but I'm back and glad
to be back. And it's a good day for me
because today is my oldest son's birthday. Give him a
nice let's shout out.
Speaker 1 (00:21):
Happy birthday. What's his name?
Speaker 2 (00:24):
His name is Austin Mitchell.
Speaker 1 (00:26):
Austin Mitchell, Happy birthday, Austin. Well, we've got some not
so welcoming weather going on right now, even with a
lot of rain going on, expecting three to five inches
in some places. As we know, Dwight can get into
some flooding issues in trouble. Looks like the roads aren't
as bad as I thought they might be this morning.
(00:47):
So far, it seems like people are sewing things down
a little bit. Desert traveling.
Speaker 2 (00:52):
Yes, and we folks who just have to be out today,
which many do, have to go to work and things
like that. I believe to have council school at least
we won't be dealing with school buses, and our kid
olds them to worry about that. But those of us
who have to be on the road and travel, just
be very careful, especially now as it's still dark outside,
and we just want to be careful to pooling the
(01:13):
water that may be occurring in some of the low
lying areas. And that is the theme all weekend. Just
to be careful, take your time, if you know where
you're going, try to leave a few minutes early so
you won't be in such a hurry and unnecessarily that
might cause you some issues. So just be careful. Patience
is going to be the order of the day and
(01:33):
the weekend, all right.
Speaker 3 (01:35):
Indeed, when do you get to the point where you
tell folks to just kind of exchange information as the
weather gets a little bit more hectic and things pick up.
How do folks know when to do that? I guess
do they call you and then you say, hey, just
exchange information?
Speaker 2 (01:49):
Yes, I mean it's ultimately up to the chief police
who decides that. Okay, when inclement weather comes in like that.
Up from what we've seen now, I think the storms
are weakening, sum that's going to be heavy raining, some
wins at times, but still callers you're normally do until
you're told otherwise, and we'll make that note our social
(02:10):
media apps and through the media as you all are.
Speaker 1 (02:14):
Appreciate you, Dwight, thanks so much and look forward to
talking to you again next week
