One oh five three. Well, what an incredible two days
we had here for our iHeart Rady Children's giveth on.
It was amazing. Thank you to everybody that opened up
their hearts, sapping up their wallets and donated. I can't
tell you how much I appreciated. And yeah, the people
at Rady Children's Hospital appreciate your support as well. We

do have a grand total of what we made over
the past couple of days. Yeah, this is very exciting.
So I will now reveal what we were able to
raise over two days, and it is an extraordinary amount.
So again, Thank you so much to everybody who donated.
We were able to raise four hundred and thirty seven thousand,
two hundred and sixty four dollars.

thank you to everybody who donated and made that very
very special event. I don't know if you were aware
of this, or if anybody saw this. I don't even
know if it made news. I'm not really sure what
was exactly going on, but we started to get some

whispers what was this Tuesday night? I think it was
Tuesday night or Wednesday night, Wednesday night, Wednesday. Something kind
of crazy was going on and I didn't really understand it.
Nothing really that didn't make sense. But I was just like,
what is happening? This doesn't seem real.

I honestly didn't believe it like idea, Like I thought, Oh,
this is a hoax, this is a scam. I don't
believe what people are saying.

Yeah, it seemed crazy. But allegedly Wednesday night, Will Smith
performed at the North Park Observatory. Wow, yeah, big big
Willie stop.

Speaker 6 (02:25):
The fresh the Dodger, not the Dodger, the dogess catcher,
the actual freshman. Will One of the biggest stars on
the planet for the last thirty years, slapper.

So randomly we hear Will performed at the North Park.
North Park observed so random, like it doesn't make any sense.
And so of course Thor got in there and decided
to really investigate and see what was going on and

found out that it was true.

Yeah, so are our longtime listener p One day one,
his wife texted my wife saying they were going to
go to the show. And Haley, my wife told me,
and I said, like everybody else, said, wait, Will Smith,
he Will Smith the actual and she said, yeah, and
I go. I gotta go. I mean, he's one of

my favorite actors of all time. And so what you
found out is that he was playing two nights, two nights. Yeah,
so not only did he play Wednesday night, but he
was going to play last night last night as well.
So I'm like, we gotta go. So we went on
stub Hub. Tickets were fifteen bucks to see Will Smith
and like, you know, listen, his music career hasn't really
done much in the last twenty five years, but he's

got some hits.

He's still one of the biggest stars in the plan
on the planet. Yeah, like it's not like it. He
took a hit, no pun intended with the Oscar stuf.
Still Will Smith's weird and all that. It's all true.
They're all weird though, but it's still Will Smith.

And if you think about the Oscar slap, think about
where Will Myth was seated at the Austin front Row

and there's really no big A listers anymore. He's like

and like multiple.

a minute, Will is playing North Park, Missouri two nights.
Sums up here and doesn't seem right.

And the fifteen dollars ticket is where I really was like,
this is a total scam. People all over Santiego are
going to be paying fifteen bucks and then show up
to like the Dodgers Catchers, Yeah, or like the Observatory's closed,
like there's not even a show like scam.

My wife's in the internet sleuth.

So within minutes she had the set list, the merch
that being sold, and and like what time he goes
on It was a real deal and it was so
it was all real Wow.

So I was trying to conclude what was exactly was
going on, and my conclusion is, well, Will's making a
comeback musically than and he is going to be doing
these shows is like practice and warm up shows for
a tour. Yeah, because artists do this all the time.

Speaker 6 (05:20):
So from what I gather from talking to people and
my wife is that he's done only these two shows.
Nowhere else anywhere else. No, So these were the first two.
So I'm assuming he's probably gonna do more, but these
were the first two.

Yeah, I know that.

Yeah.

I heard from the grape vine that his people wanted
him to do it in La, but he's like, no,
LA's too stuck up. Two judge, it sucks. San Diego
is cool.

Yeah, So he chose.

Hand chows San Diego for these two shows.

Honestly makes sense. Yeah, yeah, I mean, artists will do this.
Sky and I saw Metallica play in an venue like
that really like because they were warming up for their
world tour. This was back in like two thousands or whatever,
and literally you were right standing in from me to
you to play. It was unbelievable. So yeah, artists will

do that just so they're like, especially if they're a
little bit rusty, they want to like, yeah, dust it
off and be like all right, okay, rehearsals.

Yeah. Eddie and I also lucked out big time. Same
kind of thing with Audio Slates because they were a
group of guys who were talented musicians, but they had
never toured together. They had only played in the studio together,
so same kind of things. Small club, San France.

Speaker 6 (06:35):
It was still as impressive as those two things are.
There's nothing more impressive than when you guys sat Indian
style with He.

Didn't perform, he was, but still not as cool as
me sitting and walking around Atlantis. More set in a
room of like fifty listeners. I want to know or
you want to know beat Everything cool anyway, So you decide,

all right, we gotta go. I gotta go because you
start texting everybody, and like I.

Was texting everybody. We first person we called was Emily.
We knew Emily was gonna be hyped. We knew, well,
it was what she does. It was Wednesday night, I'm
assuming a couple of glasses of wine obviously, so she
was pumped and Haley and I were trying to pull
the trigger. Within seconds we hear Emily bought six tickets.

Oh I was pumped.

Speaker 1 (07:30):
No, six people, not really anymore.

Speaker 4 (07:35):
Oh, we had planned to like meet some friends for
this for our friend's birthday.

Speaker 5 (07:40):
So I'm assuming and there are people that are in.

Speaker 4 (07:41):
Their early fifties, these people, so I'm like, they will
totally be in. And they live in South And even
if you don't like his music, I mean you have
to like his movies.

Speaker 1 (07:49):
It's fifteen a spectacle like seeing the Unicorn. Yeah, exactly, Like, Okay,
even if I don't care about his music, I'm gonna
go just for the.

Special to see it, just to say, hey, I was
just the same room with Will Smith.

Yeah.

Yeah, So I did get a little bit hyped up
about six tickets.

Didn't didn't end up using them. But yes, I did
buy six tickets.

I I tried to sell them last night, and nobody
bought them, which actually, I'm gonna go on social media
and shame everybody because I put it on Facebook and
got so many comments, like I got like forty comments
and people making fun of me for going to or
for why.

Did you go to see Will Smith? Really?

Speaker 4 (08:26):
For yeah, what is gonna slap everybody? And they all
the jokes, all the jokes, and I'm like, you guys
aren't getting it. Yeah, he's an icon.

North Park for fifteen bucks. What do you you're missing out?

Yeah that's crazy. Uh so you got you got your tickets.

I got your tickets, came in and then it was
about seeing if you two wanted to.

Go right, well, I would have gone in a heartbeat,
but my fame was playing last night forty nine ers
on Thursday night football. Plus I'm old, so mixed together.
I was like, al pass you know, I mean I
get I get the unbelievableness of it. And I had
fomo for sure, but I was that just because I
want to watch the game.

Yeah, and then it came to Sky and I feel
like I gave her a good pitch.

Speaker 3 (09:11):
I said, hey, he had a lot of good points.

Speaker 6 (09:13):
It's Christmas season. Tomorrow is Friday. Who cares because it
was Thursday?

Speaker 5 (09:17):
Today?

Speaker 1 (09:18):
Definitely not.

And I go on top of tomorrow, which is today
being for Friday. Next week is week, it's vacation week.

Speaker 1 (09:23):
Did weeks? You're not going to kill so who care
about today? And then the next week?

Speaker 6 (09:30):
I said, if this was, you know, middle of May,
I get it. But this is the end of the year.

Speaker 1 (09:34):
Who cares? The years over? Wait, there's still I have
a whole another week ago. Oh god, I'm mailing it it,
he did say.

He said all of that is yeah, that's true. But
where he really got me is because Haley was such
an internet sleuth about all this. She found out that
Will Smith went on like early, like he went on
at eight fifteen and like did all his hit So
I'm like, okay, if I I can go, And he
actually goes on stage at like eight o'clock. That's not

that bad. So I decided to suck it up and
go with these guys to see Will Smith last night.

Speaker 1 (10:11):
So, Emily, did you end up? You said you didn't
use your tickets? Did you go? I ended up going.

Speaker 4 (10:16):
I went and I used my ticket and I gave
my friend Sky my second ticket.

Speaker 5 (10:21):
Now I did have four other tickets.

To Offlow never saw Robert was with our son Red,
and Robert just decided that he was old and tired and.

Speaker 5 (10:34):
Wanted to go home.

Speaker 4 (10:35):
And he didn't. He was a party pooper. He didn't
go missed out. He did have Fomo the whole time,
but whatever. So instead I met my friend Sky, and
Sky and I met ahead of time in North Park
and had a little bite to eat and a drink
before we went to the show together. So Sky and
I out on the town wild night.

Speaker 1 (10:55):
You guys went last night to see Will Smith. Tell
me about it.

Speaker 6 (10:59):
So I, me and Haley went with a bunch of
friends and we get to see Uh. We get to
the show. Sky and Emily show up a little bit later.
We had with fourth row.

Speaker 3 (11:08):
Oh it was crazy.

Speaker 6 (11:09):
Yeah in the middle, right in the middle because one
day one his wife they held spots for us, which
is awesome. And then he came on right at eight really,
which is awesome, and he starts with getting jiggy witted.

Speaker 1 (11:21):
Stop.

Speaker 6 (11:24):
I mean he's right there, and like you did there,
I know how I felt. I don't know how the
girls felt, but like the initial shock of seeing Will
Smith that close, it's surreal. Yes, you're like, this is crazy,
that's freaking Will Smith. And you're just like, this guy
is so famous and like watching.

Speaker 3 (11:40):
His voice come out of his mouth because he's so
like that.

Speaker 1 (11:43):
His voice is.

Speaker 3 (11:44):
Iconic too, you know what I mean? It just being yes,
you were saying that one of my husband's favorite animated movies.
By the way, it's so random, so random, but yeah,
it was just iconic and weird just to see him
so close, like Thorst said, and at first, I'm having
mixed feelings over the whole, like.

Well, you and Thor after the Oscar slap both sort
of declared you were done with are you back in?

I don't know, I know, like four Will Smith songs
because the other hits Men in Black, getting Jiggy with Miami, Summertime,
Wild Wild West.

You know, most of them are movies for movie songs,
and they were awesome.

But he put on such a fun show like I
had at last. Yeah, I mean, at what point, even
like the corny stuff when he came out on the
stage with a cowboy hat on for Wild Wild West,
it was amazing.

It's crazy. At what point like he did the Carl Yeah.

Speaker 4 (12:40):
He played, he played that It's not unusual, and then
the whole crowd was doing and then he dropped the beat.

And everybody's jumping up and down like it's a club.

And then like he brought brought the crowd down a
little bit and gave like a speech about like what
he's gone through in his life and all.

That talked about him oscars at all.

Yeah, he talk about the yeah, and like and you
can tell that's where this new music is coming from.
Has he announced there's going to be a new album
in twenty twenty five, and like you said, Eddie, he's
probably prepping for a tour. And so he like talks
about how he had to take like a couple of
years and step back and do some soul searching and
so he.

Did the craziest thing in the history of mankind.

And so his new songs are cool, like they got
a beat to him, but if you listen to the words,
it's a lot of like kind of self reflection and
I and I'm not perfect and you know it was interesting.

Yeah, And then he addressed all the diddy stuff that's
going on. I'm sorry, so apparently there's been a lot

he's been rumored to be involved in a lot of
a lot of weird parties, you know, even without Diddy,
like weird stuff with Jada and stuff like that.

probably normal. But I got a clip. I was recorded
most of them, really, so if you want to hear
him talk about day, uh yeah, absolutely, let's hear it.

and it was like a switch flipped and she's like, Okay, it.

no one I was. We were surrounded by bunch of people.
No one was having a more fun time than Emily.
She was like she was and I was having a
great time too. We were having fun. She was grabbing
my arm, we were going. She was like, it's Will Smith.
She's singing the song and then out of nowhere. She
just goes, I'm out here to see you guys.

And he not only did me and my wife stay.
After it was over, we saw a bunch of people
gathered around like the exit, and the security guards were
kind of mentioning, hey, Will's gonna come out and do something,
and there was like there was like giant TV setup.
I guess he dropped a new song last night with
another rapper that I like. And he comes out with
a megaphone and starts talking on the crowd and then
starts like signing autographs, taking pictures with people, and I

got within like arm's length of them, really and I
could have patted him on the back, but I was like,
that's weird.

I don't want to get punched in the face.

So like I had a couple of Yeah, Slash signed
a couple like terrible shots of him right behind me,
and then my wife was in like there was two
people in front of her and he was signing their
autographs and she's the next person ready to take a picture,
and as she goes to take the picture with him,
he goes, I gotta go, I'll see you guys, and
blows a kiss and walks away. She was devastated. That's
on my Instagram. Left her hanging that close, that close.

that this is such a crazy thing. Well, what sort

top things that we've done this year in twenty twenty four,
while Google has released their top searches of the year,
and that includes in entertainment, Like, what kind of stuff
were we looking up in entertainment?

I was like, I dropped out of school so I
wouldn't have to do like homework anymore. And my mom

and lasted about thirty seconds and freaked out on a

Yeah, because it's all about involving all of your senses,
so you feel like you're actually there, right, you're actually
part of whatever you're watching or whatever you're playing. Well,
one university in Hong Kong is making news because they
have just done their first round of tests on a
new device that will let users experience taste in virtual reality.

That's possible.

So it's this like wand like thing that's shaped kind
of like a lollipop, which I don't know, I don't know,
it's kind of weird, kind of weird, but yeah, it
is a portable device that could you know, bluetooth connect
to whatever you're watching or whatever, and it uses full
food grade chemicals and also electric currents to mimic flavors.

So so far they just have a basic line of flavors,
but they hope to grow it. So right now they
have things like cherry and green tea, milk, grapefruit, stuff
like that, and then they hope to like grow this
technology so you can actually program it to taste like

wand there and you lick it it and it tastes

the more immersive experience. Yeah, so I don't know this.
You're gonna taste exactly like the cake that that person

fun fetti.

in the flavor profile right now, but they're working really
