Speaker 1 (00:01):
San Diego. Welcome, Welcome to the show.
Speaker 2 (00:06):
Yo, A new new day is here, and what better
way to start it then.
Speaker 1 (00:11):
With I feel like the show is going to be great.
This show, I would like to introduce you to the
ringleader Eddie. I have a young mindset, okay, the mother
of this crew Sky.
Speaker 3 (00:21):
If you don't know anything about me, you may not
realize that I get cold very easily.
Speaker 1 (00:27):
I'm very rude, I'm obnoxious, and I don't care.
Speaker 4 (00:29):
And Emily, ever since I can remember, I've never wanted.
Speaker 5 (00:33):
To sleep with another human.
Speaker 6 (00:34):
Welcome to the show on San Diego's rock station Rock.
Speaker 1 (00:38):
One oh five three. Well, what an incredible two days
we had here for our iHeart Rady Children's giveth on.
It was amazing. Thank you to everybody that opened up
their hearts, sapping up their wallets and donated. I can't
tell you how much I appreciated. And yeah, the people
at Rady Children's Hospital appreciate your support as well. We
(01:00):
do have a grand total of what we made over
the past couple of days. Yeah, this is very exciting.
So I will now reveal what we were able to
raise over two days, and it is an extraordinary amount.
So again, Thank you so much to everybody who donated.
We were able to raise four hundred and thirty seven thousand,
two hundred and sixty four dollars.
Speaker 3 (01:21):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (01:22):
Yeah, cool man. So it'so great two days and again,
thank you to everybody who donated and made that very
very special event. I don't know if you were aware
of this, or if anybody saw this. I don't even
know if it made news. I'm not really sure what
was exactly going on, but we started to get some
(01:43):
whispers what was this Tuesday night? I think it was
Tuesday night or Wednesday night, Wednesday night, Wednesday. Something kind
of crazy was going on and I didn't really understand it.
Nothing really that didn't make sense. But I was just like,
what is happening? This doesn't seem real.
Speaker 3 (02:00):
I honestly didn't believe it like idea, Like I thought, Oh,
this is a hoax, this is a scam. I don't
believe what people are saying.
Speaker 1 (02:06):
Yeah, it seemed crazy. But allegedly Wednesday night, Will Smith
performed at the North Park Observatory. Wow, yeah, big big
Willie stop.
Speaker 6 (02:25):
The fresh the Dodger, not the Dodger, the dogess catcher,
the actual freshman. Will One of the biggest stars on
the planet for the last thirty years, slapper.
Speaker 1 (02:38):
So randomly we hear Will performed at the North Park.
North Park observed so random, like it doesn't make any sense.
And so of course Thor got in there and decided
to really investigate and see what was going on and
(02:58):
found out that it was true.
Speaker 6 (03:00):
Yeah, so are our longtime listener p One day one,
his wife texted my wife saying they were going to
go to the show. And Haley, my wife told me,
and I said, like everybody else, said, wait, Will Smith,
he Will Smith the actual and she said, yeah, and
I go. I gotta go. I mean, he's one of
(03:20):
my favorite actors of all time. And so what you
found out is that he was playing two nights, two nights. Yeah,
so not only did he play Wednesday night, but he
was going to play last night last night as well.
So I'm like, we gotta go. So we went on
stub Hub. Tickets were fifteen bucks to see Will Smith
and like, you know, listen, his music career hasn't really
done much in the last twenty five years, but he's
(03:41):
got some hits.
Speaker 1 (03:42):
He's still one of the biggest stars in the plan
on the planet. Yeah, like it's not like it. He
took a hit, no pun intended with the Oscar stuf.
Still Will Smith's weird and all that. It's all true.
They're all weird though, but it's still Will Smith.
Speaker 4 (03:56):
Well.
Speaker 3 (03:56):
And if you think about the Oscar slap, think about
where Will Myth was seated at the Austin front Row
so Room Celebrities. That dude is front and center.
Speaker 6 (04:07):
In the last thirty years. I mean he's up there
with Clooney Denzel We'll spend as he gets, Yeah, I mean,
and there's really no big A listers anymore. He's like
the last of them.
Speaker 1 (04:18):
You sort of almost forget that he. Yeah, had music,
that's how he started. Yeah, well he was a rapper
and like multiple.
Speaker 5 (04:25):
Hits that are like bangers, classic.
Speaker 1 (04:29):
Will and his music, And so I was like, wait
a minute, Will is playing North Park, Missouri two nights.
Sums up here and doesn't seem right.
Speaker 3 (04:38):
And the fifteen dollars ticket is where I really was like,
this is a total scam. People all over Santiego are
going to be paying fifteen bucks and then show up
to like the Dodgers Catchers, Yeah, or like the Observatory's closed,
like there's not even a show like scam.
Speaker 1 (04:53):
My wife's in the internet sleuth.
Speaker 6 (04:55):
So within minutes she had the set list, the merch
that being sold, and and like what time he goes
on It was a real deal and it was so
it was all real Wow.
Speaker 1 (05:05):
So I was trying to conclude what was exactly was
going on, and my conclusion is, well, Will's making a
comeback musically than and he is going to be doing
these shows is like practice and warm up shows for
a tour. Yeah, because artists do this all the time.
Speaker 6 (05:20):
So from what I gather from talking to people and
my wife is that he's done only these two shows.
Nowhere else anywhere else. No, So these were the first two.
So I'm assuming he's probably gonna do more, but these
were the first two.
Speaker 3 (05:34):
Yeah, I know that.
Speaker 1 (05:37):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (05:37):
I heard from the grape vine that his people wanted
him to do it in La, but he's like, no,
LA's too stuck up. Two judge, it sucks. San Diego
is cool.
Speaker 1 (05:47):
Yeah, So he chose.
Speaker 3 (05:48):
Hand chows San Diego for these two shows.
Speaker 1 (05:51):
Honestly makes sense. Yeah, yeah, I mean, artists will do this.
Sky and I saw Metallica play in an venue like
that really like because they were warming up for their
world tour. This was back in like two thousands or whatever,
and literally you were right standing in from me to
you to play. It was unbelievable. So yeah, artists will
(06:11):
do that just so they're like, especially if they're a
little bit rusty, they want to like, yeah, dust it
off and be like all right, okay, rehearsals.
Speaker 3 (06:20):
Yeah. Eddie and I also lucked out big time. Same
kind of thing with Audio Slates because they were a
group of guys who were talented musicians, but they had
never toured together. They had only played in the studio together,
so same kind of things. Small club, San France.
Speaker 6 (06:35):
It was still as impressive as those two things are.
There's nothing more impressive than when you guys sat Indian
style with He.
Speaker 1 (06:43):
Didn't perform, he was, but still not as cool as
me sitting and walking around Atlantis. More set in a
room of like fifty listeners. I want to know or
you want to know beat Everything cool anyway, So you decide,
(07:03):
all right, we gotta go. I gotta go because you
start texting everybody, and like I.
Speaker 6 (07:09):
Was texting everybody. We first person we called was Emily.
We knew Emily was gonna be hyped. We knew, well,
it was what she does. It was Wednesday night, I'm
assuming a couple of glasses of wine obviously, so she
was pumped and Haley and I were trying to pull
the trigger. Within seconds we hear Emily bought six tickets.
Speaker 3 (07:28):
Oh I was pumped.
Speaker 1 (07:30):
No, six people, not really anymore.
Speaker 4 (07:35):
Oh, we had planned to like meet some friends for
this for our friend's birthday.
Speaker 5 (07:40):
So I'm assuming and there are people that are in.
Speaker 4 (07:41):
Their early fifties, these people, so I'm like, they will
totally be in. And they live in South And even
if you don't like his music, I mean you have
to like his movies.
Speaker 1 (07:49):
It's fifteen a spectacle like seeing the Unicorn. Yeah, exactly, Like, Okay,
even if I don't care about his music, I'm gonna
go just for the.
Speaker 6 (07:58):
Special to see it, just to say, hey, I was
just the same room with Will Smith.
Speaker 1 (08:01):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (08:02):
Yeah, So I did get a little bit hyped up
about six tickets.
Speaker 5 (08:06):
Didn't didn't end up using them. But yes, I did
buy six tickets.
Speaker 1 (08:09):
Oh you didn't.
Speaker 5 (08:10):
No, I didn't end up using them.
Speaker 4 (08:11):
I I tried to sell them last night, and nobody
bought them, which actually, I'm gonna go on social media
and shame everybody because I put it on Facebook and
got so many comments, like I got like forty comments
and people making fun of me for going to or
for why.
Speaker 5 (08:24):
Did you go to see Will Smith? Really?
Speaker 4 (08:26):
For yeah, what is gonna slap everybody? And they all
the jokes, all the jokes, and I'm like, you guys
aren't getting it. Yeah, he's an icon.
Speaker 1 (08:34):
Yeah he's at.
Speaker 5 (08:35):
North Park for fifteen bucks. What do you you're missing out?
Speaker 1 (08:38):
Yeah that's crazy. Uh so you got you got your tickets.
Speaker 6 (08:43):
I got your tickets, came in and then it was
about seeing if you two wanted to.
Speaker 1 (08:47):
Go right, well, I would have gone in a heartbeat,
but my fame was playing last night forty nine ers
on Thursday night football. Plus I'm old, so mixed together.
I was like, al pass you know, I mean I
get I get the unbelievableness of it. And I had
fomo for sure, but I was that just because I
want to watch the game.
Speaker 6 (09:06):
Yeah, and then it came to Sky and I feel
like I gave her a good pitch.
Speaker 3 (09:11):
I said, hey, he had a lot of good points.
Speaker 6 (09:13):
It's Christmas season. Tomorrow is Friday. Who cares because it
was Thursday?
Speaker 5 (09:17):
Today?
Speaker 1 (09:18):
Definitely not.
Speaker 6 (09:18):
And I go on top of tomorrow, which is today
being for Friday. Next week is week, it's vacation week.
Speaker 1 (09:23):
Did weeks? You're not going to kill so who care
about today? And then the next week?
Speaker 6 (09:30):
I said, if this was, you know, middle of May,
I get it. But this is the end of the year.
Speaker 1 (09:34):
Who cares? The years over? Wait, there's still I have
a whole another week ago. Oh god, I'm mailing it it,
he did say.
Speaker 3 (09:43):
He said all of that is yeah, that's true. But
where he really got me is because Haley was such
an internet sleuth about all this. She found out that
Will Smith went on like early, like he went on
at eight fifteen and like did all his hit So
I'm like, okay, if I I can go, And he
actually goes on stage at like eight o'clock. That's not
(10:04):
that bad. So I decided to suck it up and
go with these guys to see Will Smith last night.
Speaker 1 (10:11):
So, Emily, did you end up? You said you didn't
use your tickets? Did you go? I ended up going.
Speaker 4 (10:16):
I went and I used my ticket and I gave
my friend Sky my second ticket.
Speaker 5 (10:21):
Now I did have four other tickets.
Speaker 4 (10:24):
To Offlow never saw Robert was with our son Red,
and Robert just decided that he was old and tired and.
Speaker 5 (10:34):
Wanted to go home.
Speaker 4 (10:35):
And he didn't. He was a party pooper. He didn't
go missed out. He did have Fomo the whole time,
but whatever. So instead I met my friend Sky, and
Sky and I met ahead of time in North Park
and had a little bite to eat and a drink
before we went to the show together. So Sky and
I out on the town wild night.
Speaker 1 (10:55):
You guys went last night to see Will Smith. Tell
me about it.
Speaker 6 (10:59):
So I, me and Haley went with a bunch of
friends and we get to see Uh. We get to
the show. Sky and Emily show up a little bit later.
We had with fourth row.
Speaker 3 (11:08):
Oh it was crazy.
Speaker 6 (11:09):
Yeah in the middle, right in the middle because one
day one his wife they held spots for us, which
is awesome. And then he came on right at eight really,
which is awesome, and he starts with getting jiggy witted.
Speaker 1 (11:21):
Stop.
Speaker 6 (11:24):
I mean he's right there, and like you did there,
I know how I felt. I don't know how the
girls felt, but like the initial shock of seeing Will
Smith that close, it's surreal. Yes, you're like, this is crazy,
that's freaking Will Smith. And you're just like, this guy
is so famous and like watching.
Speaker 3 (11:40):
His voice come out of his mouth because he's so
like that.
Speaker 1 (11:43):
His voice is.
Speaker 3 (11:44):
Iconic too, you know what I mean? It just being yes,
you were saying that one of my husband's favorite animated movies.
By the way, it's so random, so random, but yeah,
it was just iconic and weird just to see him
so close, like Thorst said, and at first, I'm having
mixed feelings over the whole, like.
Speaker 1 (12:04):
Well, you and Thor after the Oscar slap both sort
of declared you were done with are you back in?
I'm back all in? Eddie. He put on listen.
Speaker 6 (12:13):
I don't know, I know, like four Will Smith songs
because the other hits Men in Black, getting Jiggy with Miami, Summertime,
Wild Wild West.
Speaker 1 (12:21):
You know, most of them are movies for movie songs,
and they were awesome.
Speaker 6 (12:25):
But he put on such a fun show like I
had at last. Yeah, I mean, at what point, even
like the corny stuff when he came out on the
stage with a cowboy hat on for Wild Wild West,
it was amazing.
Speaker 1 (12:37):
It's crazy. At what point like he did the Carl Yeah.
Speaker 4 (12:40):
He played, he played that It's not unusual, and then
the whole crowd was doing and then he dropped the beat.
Speaker 1 (12:46):
And everybody's jumping up and down like it's a club.
Speaker 6 (12:49):
And then like he brought brought the crowd down a
little bit and gave like a speech about like what
he's gone through in his life and all.
Speaker 1 (12:56):
That talked about him oscars at all.
Speaker 3 (12:59):
Yeah, he talk about the yeah, and like and you
can tell that's where this new music is coming from.
Has he announced there's going to be a new album
in twenty twenty five, and like you said, Eddie, he's
probably prepping for a tour. And so he like talks
about how he had to take like a couple of
years and step back and do some soul searching and
so he.
Speaker 1 (13:19):
Did the craziest thing in the history of mankind.
Speaker 3 (13:22):
And so his new songs are cool, like they got
a beat to him, but if you listen to the words,
it's a lot of like kind of self reflection and
I and I'm not perfect and you know it was interesting.
Speaker 1 (13:34):
Wow.
Speaker 6 (13:34):
Yeah, And then he addressed all the diddy stuff that's
going on. I'm sorry, so apparently there's been a lot
of memes about him and Diddy, yeah really because you know,
Will Smith is weird.
Speaker 1 (13:44):
I love him, but he's a little weird. Yeah, And
he's been rumored to be involved in a lot of
a lot of weird parties, you know, even without Diddy,
like weird stuff with Jada and stuff like that.
Speaker 6 (13:54):
So it does when you're that famous. You know, it's
probably normal. But I got a clip. I was recorded
most of them, really, so if you want to hear
him talk about day, uh yeah, absolutely, let's hear it.
Speaker 7 (14:05):
Yeah, it's really hard for y'all to like discern what's
real and what's true.
Speaker 1 (14:10):
You're not and I've been seeing y'all.
Speaker 7 (14:12):
Means it's stuff you'll be making means I seen.
Speaker 1 (14:15):
The means I say, no, somebo I saw us money.
Some of its funny.
Speaker 7 (14:21):
But I haven't addressed any of this publicly. But I
just want to say this very clearly. I don't have
to do with Puffy, So y'all can stop all that thing.
I'm gonna stop all of it, nor hear nor damn
free dog.
Speaker 8 (14:41):
Listen.
Speaker 3 (14:41):
I do enough for my own.
Speaker 8 (14:43):
Don't be putting me and other people. I mean, get
nowhere near that man. Ain't none of that stupid whenever
y'all hear it. If somebody say that it's a damn lie,
I don't even like baby.
Speaker 3 (14:59):
Or.
Speaker 1 (15:01):
That's great. It was great.
Speaker 6 (15:03):
It was great, and like it ended with summertime and
there was beach ball a beach balls everywhere for the
whole thing.
Speaker 1 (15:09):
Yes, Sky, and I did.
Speaker 4 (15:11):
Yes, No. I loved early why Sky because it was
like almost nine o'clock and I was like, I'm ready.
It was really really fun and it was amazing and
I'm like I'm gonna get a head start to go home.
Speaker 3 (15:22):
Yeah. Emily was like feeling it more than anybody, like
loving it, loving it. And then Wild Wild West ended
and it was like a switch flipped and she's like, Okay, it.
Speaker 6 (15:31):
Was one of the wild I'm not gonna lie to you.
It was one of the wilder things just because Emily,
no one I was. We were surrounded by bunch of people.
No one was having a more fun time than Emily.
She was like she was and I was having a
great time too. We were having fun. She was grabbing
my arm, we were going. She was like, it's Will Smith.
She's singing the song and then out of nowhere. She
just goes, I'm out here to see you guys.
Speaker 1 (15:53):
What We're just like, you were just having ago. You
were having the greatest fun of all time. That was crazy.
Speaker 3 (16:01):
I'm ready to go nothing.
Speaker 5 (16:03):
I just decided that.
Speaker 1 (16:04):
I was like, like, you've done no.
Speaker 4 (16:06):
I was already leading up to it, and I had
already been thinking about it for like fifteen minutes.
Speaker 5 (16:09):
But I'm able to just do that.
Speaker 1 (16:10):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (16:11):
I was just like, Okay, I'm gonna. I knew I
wanted to leave before it was over. I knew one
hundred percent that was going to happen.
Speaker 1 (16:16):
Even though you're there, you're having such a good time.
Speaker 4 (16:19):
Had start and get home and from what it takes
me a while to like settle down at home and
wash my face.
Speaker 5 (16:25):
And do all this stuff.
Speaker 1 (16:26):
So I'm like, I want to get a head start.
Speaker 5 (16:27):
And I was just like I wild Wood West.
Speaker 4 (16:29):
I was like, I've seen so I like, I had
so much fun, and I knew we know I had
so much fun.
Speaker 5 (16:34):
I'm like, I'm gonna.
Speaker 1 (16:35):
I've never known anybody that loves sleep more than Emily
but doesn't really get the best sleep. Yeah, Like it's
like the weirdest.
Speaker 9 (16:44):
I'm striving for it, like I love sleep, and I
love sleep more than anything I do.
Speaker 1 (16:48):
I do, which is wild.
Speaker 6 (16:50):
And he not only did me and my wife stay.
After it was over, we saw a bunch of people
gathered around like the exit, and the security guards were
kind of mentioning, hey, Will's gonna come out and do something,
and there was like there was like giant TV setup.
I guess he dropped a new song last night with
another rapper that I like. And he comes out with
a megaphone and starts talking on the crowd and then
starts like signing autographs, taking pictures with people, and I
(17:11):
got within like arm's length of them, really and I
could have patted him on the back, but I was like,
that's weird.
Speaker 1 (17:17):
I don't want to get punched in the face.
Speaker 6 (17:18):
So like I had a couple of Yeah, Slash signed
a couple like terrible shots of him right behind me,
and then my wife was in like there was two
people in front of her and he was signing their
autographs and she's the next person ready to take a picture,
and as she goes to take the picture with him,
he goes, I gotta go, I'll see you guys, and
blows a kiss and walks away. She was devastated. That's
on my Instagram. Left her hanging that close, that close.
(17:42):
Can't wait to see it calvable.
Speaker 1 (17:47):
Guys, Will Smith last night. I still can't get over
that this is such a crazy thing. Well, what sort
of things were we googling this year? While Google has
released their top trends for searches for twenty twenty four
in entertainment, We're gonna see what they are when we
get back on the show I'll Rock with a five
three nine inch nails on the show Rocuno five three.
(18:12):
So we're wrapping up the year here and as we do,
we get to go over all the different, you know,
top things that we've done this year in twenty twenty four,
while Google has released their top searches of the year,
and that includes in entertainment, Like, what kind of stuff
were we looking up in entertainment?
Speaker 3 (18:29):
Yeah? What kind of celebrities were we looking up? Celebrity duos, musicians, actors,
all that stuff. Google, let us know what we were
looking for this year. And when it comes to actors, uh,
the top five is pretty interesting. It's all dominated by men.
The first woman to come in on the actors. Google
search is.
Speaker 1 (18:49):
About thank you. Eddie will be number one.
Speaker 3 (18:55):
Okay, yeah. The first woman to make the actors list
actually is at number nine with Ella Purnell. She's the
girl from Fallout.
Speaker 6 (19:03):
If I was making the list, I put her up
there ready of women, but you don't make.
Speaker 1 (19:09):
Women listen, don't do that.
Speaker 6 (19:11):
I wouldn't say yeah. I just think I wouldn't be
able with the women to uh. It would only be
on based off of looks. And the man list isn't
based off a look. It's based off of a lot
of things. So okay, what and the armors would be
one every year?
Speaker 1 (19:27):
All right, okay, will be up there.
Speaker 3 (19:30):
I love her, Okay, come down.
Speaker 1 (19:31):
Her eyes are weird sipt bug guys.
Speaker 3 (19:33):
Yeah cool, Yeah, they're cool, but they're a little much.
Speaker 1 (19:37):
You're a little right.
Speaker 3 (19:39):
But our top five actors we were googling this year.
Number five goes to Shane Gillis from Tires on Netflix
and stand Up. Yeah, but they put him in the
actor category. That's why I'm like, Yeah, I'm like, what
is he did as an actor?
Speaker 1 (19:54):
But those are weird eyes?
Speaker 3 (19:55):
Ed you?
Speaker 1 (19:59):
I love.
Speaker 3 (20:00):
Number four goes to Jeremy Allan White, another guy that
was up and coming, didn't on my list, didn't make it.
Speaker 1 (20:07):
Next year, Jay, Yeah, oh wow, he's gonna be in
a lot of stuff. Like he's been casting a lot
of stuff, So I know that'll help my finger on.
Speaker 3 (20:14):
The pulse status matters. Number three after we were looking
up this year, Glenn Powell only three, number.
Speaker 6 (20:21):
Three, that's shocking. Honestly, he should be number one. He's
the he's gonna You know, if I could see Glenn
Powell at the North Park Reservatory like I saw it
was with last night, what I don't think? Would you
see whatever he wants to do talking on the crowd,
you just gotta.
Speaker 9 (20:38):
Go just looking like a hunk and just star at him.
We willing, Okay, that's weird.
Speaker 3 (20:43):
Number two actor we were googling is Jacob el Elroy.
How do you say his last name? Of the guy
from Saltburn? Oh?
Speaker 1 (20:50):
That guy I don't know.
Speaker 3 (20:52):
And number one, which makes no sense to anybody. I
googled why this guy was number one and nothing came up,
So I don't know. But Williams one googled actor he.
Speaker 6 (21:04):
Did that podcast on Shannon Sharp. Shannon Shoard's a podcast
called Club Shaya and they and it got like deep
and like Kat Williams basically called everyone a pedophile everyone day,
and it was like naming names and it was like
just sound crazy. But then the Diddy stuff happened. Stuff
people think, oh my god, he's and then the Drake
and stuff happened Hendrick, so people think he's he's right now.
(21:28):
So it was it went like a crazy viral.
Speaker 3 (21:30):
Oh okay. What top celebrity passings were we googling? Number
five rich Tomy Kwan, Number four, James Earl Jones, Number three,
o j Number two, Liam Payne, and number one Toby
Keith this year. As far as celebrity duos, number five
is weird conjoined twins Abby and Britney.
Speaker 10 (21:52):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (21:53):
I think they have like a TLC show or some something.
Speaker 3 (21:56):
Yeah. Number four was Ben and Jennumber three celebrity duo.
We were interested in Vanna White and Ryan Seacress. There
was a lot of talk about their chemistry. New best Friends, Yeah, totally.
Number two Justin and Haley Bieber and number one Gwen
Stefani and Blake Shelton.
Speaker 1 (22:15):
Number why, Yeah, that's weird.
Speaker 3 (22:17):
What performances were we googling to watch again? Number five
Celine Dionne at the Olympics, number four, Miley Cyrus at
the Grammys, number three, Toby Keith's last performance, number two,
Ryan Gosling doing I'm Just Ken at the Oscars. And
number one, by far, they say, was Raygun's full performance
(22:39):
from the Olympics.
Speaker 1 (22:40):
Yeah, we were locked into that. Speaking of performances, stub
Hub has released their top events of the year. We're
gonna see what we were the most. What were the
most popular events of the year? Coming up next on
the show at Rock with five three the Foo Fighters
(23:00):
on the show It's Rock five three here. Okay, I
don't know all what's up?
Speaker 6 (23:12):
I would have loved if Will did this last night
at the North Park would why would he know?
Speaker 1 (23:17):
Some artists do that like a cover.
Speaker 6 (23:19):
Yeah, a little cover action That would be sick Will
do when he probably knows them, you know, taking over it.
Speaker 1 (23:28):
It was crazy, one of the best nuts.
Speaker 3 (23:30):
Fun.
Speaker 5 (23:31):
Okay, really, here's bullying me right now.
Speaker 1 (23:35):
You know the way I get really high.
Speaker 4 (23:36):
That's where you left you left befoorida, don't to me
my time.
Speaker 1 (23:43):
Well, I don't know that the Will Smith performance at
the North Park Observatory will make this list. Uh. Stub
Hub has released their top events of the year. Now
it's several different categories, right, yeah.
Speaker 3 (23:55):
Yeah, they let us know. Probably, yeah, it's certain categories,
but in other categories actually surprisingly not so overall. They
say the top in demand tickets on stub Hub this year.
Number ten was U two, number nine, Billy Joel, number eight,
The Rolling Stones, number seven, the Eagles.
Speaker 1 (24:15):
These are old people because a lot of crazy.
Speaker 6 (24:18):
It's crazy because a lot of the new artists they
don't do well touring because they don't have album so
they just put out these songs. And so these old
are artists who have these long catalogs still crushing, and
they can and they can fill stadium and they can
feel state exactly, which is just crazy that there's no
like other than like Taylor Swift.
Speaker 1 (24:35):
There's no like giant new artists that can do this.
Speaker 3 (24:37):
Yeah. Number six most in demand event on stub Hub
music event goes to cold Play this year. Number five,
Morgan Wallin, number four Olivia Rodrigo, oh Lover the big
newcomer kind of on that list, the.
Speaker 1 (24:51):
Guts Tour Louts Tour are.
Speaker 3 (24:57):
Number three, Adele, number two is Zach Bryan, and number one,
by far Taylor Swift with the most events. Now, where
are we willing to travel for an event? Where will
we go to a different city within the US? The
top three, Number three is Miami. Number two is New
York and by far, especially since the Spheres opened, Las
(25:20):
Vegas is the spot to go see a show.
Speaker 1 (25:23):
I want to see a show there.
Speaker 5 (25:25):
You gotta go.
Speaker 1 (25:26):
It would be so cool.
Speaker 5 (25:26):
I saw you too there last year.
Speaker 1 (25:28):
It was so cool early Okay she left her like
one of their biggest songs and she just goes, I'm
out here, Emily.
Speaker 5 (25:42):
We're not doing that well last year last night it
will Smith.
Speaker 3 (25:51):
So where were Americans traveling outside of the US to
see shows? What were we going to see or events?
Number five we were going to see Bad Bunny in
San Juan course. Number four we were going to Barcelona
for the F one race in Barcelona. Definitely, Number three
(26:11):
we were going to Munich to see Adele. Number two
US Buyer International event goes to Tomorrowland, which is like
a massive ed M festival in Disneople. No, that's different.
This is a tour and number one international event for
(26:31):
US buyers went to cold Play in Rome. What were
people coming to the US to see From other countries.
Number five the World Series, number four, Number four Copa
America Argentina versus Peru in Miami. Number three was the
Miami F one Race. Number two was U two at
(26:55):
the sphere was getting people from other countries to copy.
Speaker 1 (27:00):
They want well, they wanted to see her, but they couldn't.
Speaker 3 (27:02):
Find And the number one event that people from other
countries were coming to the US for this year was
Copa America the semi finals and finals in York, Miami,
North Carolina. And what sporting events did we want to
go to? Americans were trying to get tickets on stub Hub.
(27:23):
Number five goes to the NBA Finals. Uh, the it
says Celtics versus MAVs final game.
Speaker 2 (27:30):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (27:30):
The number four Copa America. I guess we wanted to
see that too. Number three the European Championship. Number two
the Super Bowl. And number one ticket people were looking
for was the World Series the Dodgers Yankees.
Speaker 1 (27:47):
Yeah, you know, obviously that's a huge series. You know,
you got two of the biggest markets, you have the
biggest players, all that stuff. One of the biggert choke
jobs of all time by Aaron Josh.
Speaker 3 (27:55):
No No and w arror breakthrough artists who they say
will probably be making big waves.
Speaker 1 (28:05):
Got Smith last night, He's back.
Speaker 3 (28:11):
Number five goes to Benson Boone.
Speaker 1 (28:14):
Okay yeah country.
Speaker 3 (28:18):
Yeah and kind of like folksy.
Speaker 6 (28:20):
Like noah, yes, yes, another. I only know these people
because it's my wife likes him.
Speaker 3 (28:27):
Number four Charlie xc X hell yeah. Number three Tate McCrae.
Speaker 1 (28:33):
She Eddie. That's a girl in that country artists Google
Tate McCray.
Speaker 3 (28:38):
We I mentioned her once and then she came on
the Today Show and I remember Eddie was Eddie was.
Speaker 1 (28:43):
Affected Ye show me better pictures, show better.
Speaker 3 (28:46):
Jamie's bringing up pictures, Like.
Speaker 1 (28:47):
Jamie is showing you the worst pictures. Just go to
her Instagram.
Speaker 3 (28:52):
Yeah she is. She is very attractive, so she's okay.
Speaker 1 (28:57):
He just brought up literally the worst pictures.
Speaker 3 (29:01):
Like every picture I've seen is beautiful. Those were weird shots.
Speaker 1 (29:05):
He shun. Oh okay, yeah, no, I'm in okay, you'll.
Speaker 3 (29:11):
Oh okay, fun fact.
Speaker 5 (29:12):
You don't need to do that.
Speaker 1 (29:15):
I forgot you were in the room.
Speaker 3 (29:18):
The number two breakthrough artists that stub Hub says is
going to be doing big things next year, Teddy swims him. Yeah, definitely.
And number one, I've never.
Speaker 1 (29:27):
Heard of any of these. Well, Charlie X Blizy I've
heard of, but that's the only one.
Speaker 3 (29:32):
Teddy Swims is kind of like a jelly Roll knock
off in my eyes. Really yeah, I get this first.
Speaker 5 (29:38):
More soulful though Jelly rolls Country.
Speaker 3 (29:40):
Oh, I feel like they're both soulful. Big guys, I
don't know. And number one goes to Sabrina Carpenter.
Speaker 1 (29:50):
A lot of love these acts that I wouldn't think
that you would interesting. Okay, all right, guys, get ready
for it is going to be our last roulette the year,
your last chance to guess what celebrities are charging on
cameo when we get back on the show at Rocot
five three.
Speaker 11 (30:08):
Christmas on the show, it's Roco five three.
Speaker 1 (30:19):
It is beginning to talk a lot like Christmas. We
are wrapping up the year. You know, we have one
more week of shows, so next week we have our
Military Christmas Bonus. Today is the last day you can
sign up for the Military Christmas Bonus. By the way,
go to Rock one O five three dot com, nominate
yourself or nominate somebody that you think needs a little
help this year. For our Military Christmas Bonus. The giveaways
(30:41):
begin on Monday seven am. Those are always super amazing,
super heartwarming, So I'm gonna start that on Monday. But again,
today's your last day to sign up if you want
to try for the Military Christmas Bonus. So next week
we have the Military Christmas Bonus going on, and then
next Friday is our year end spectacular. Oh that is
where you know what I mean. We're all coming tuxes
(31:02):
and ball gowns.
Speaker 8 (31:03):
Yea.
Speaker 1 (31:04):
We have multiple celebrity guests that show up and then
we hand out our awards of who did the best
and worst in all the games, so prestigious, and one
of those we're gonna find out is who did the
best and worst at Cameo Roulette.
Speaker 12 (31:19):
You ever wonder what Ronnie from Jersey Shore would sound
like wishing you a happy birthdays?
Speaker 2 (31:26):
Harry?
Speaker 10 (31:26):
What's up with your boy?
Speaker 8 (31:27):
Ronnie?
Speaker 13 (31:28):
Here?
Speaker 1 (31:28):
I just wanted to say, happy birthday. I hope you
enjoy yourself. Drink a lot of ron Ron juice. GTL
though out of your party. Well, it's time for the show.
You've done for the shows. Cameo Roulette, all right. Cameo
Roulette is the game that we play all year long
where we find out what celebrities charge on cameo and
(31:50):
then we hear a little clip from them. You guys
have to guess how much do they charge on cameo
because they set their own price. It's been a wild
year for cameo Rolette. I'm Jamie is the key of
the records of all the games, So I have no
idea who's doing good? You didn't do good. I just
remember it's been a wild year of like who's done well,
because like Sky came out of the gate doing super good,
(32:12):
then Emily had a run, and then Thor has wrapped
up the year doing spectacular. So I'm like, I don't know.
I don't honestly don't know who's done well and who's
you know, in the lead and any of that stuff.
There's really nothing on the line, by the way, no
but just bragging rights. But we're so competitive it doesn't matter.
Speaker 3 (32:29):
Nothing matters, and coming in last is such an embarrassment,
even though again nothing's on the line for.
Speaker 7 (32:37):
All.
Speaker 1 (32:37):
Right, let's go ahead and spin the wheel. This year, guys,
is last chance to in some points here and see
what it lands on. First, we got a WWE star
at current WWE star and he's involved in one of
the biggest storylines in the WWE right now, Toma Tonga,
who is part of the New Bloodline Crew.
Speaker 11 (33:00):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (33:01):
Yes, well it's all Samoan guys, okay, because you have
Roman Reigns, who is the biggest you know guy around,
and he has been taken over. His bloodline has been
taken over by one of his cousins, Solo Socoa, and
then Solo brought in Toma Tonga and all these other dudes.
Speaker 6 (33:19):
They're all okay, everyone's just everyone's just buckling up until
the Big Man comes back.
Speaker 1 (33:25):
He's referring to the Rock everyone's keeping because WrestleMania the
Rock will definitely be back and fighting Rain.
Speaker 6 (33:32):
And he's on this Final Boss tribe he's a part of. Yeah, yeah,
he's his dad was his dad, and his grandfather were
his mom.
Speaker 1 (33:45):
But yeah, they're all they're all part of this bloodline
and they're all connected, and so Toma Tonga's he's I mean,
they just had this huge match for Survivor series called
War Games where they all fought each other inside two
steal cages and he's one of them. Really, so usually
you know, you don't get a lot of the current guys.
(34:06):
You get a lot of the older dudes, you know,
but he's very current right now in the WWE. So
we'll begin with you, Thor, since you're the only WWE
fan really between the thirst of you guys. What do
you think? How much do you think Tomatonga charges? I
don't really know.
Speaker 6 (34:20):
I I'm only I'm a WWE fan four months out
of the year, like January hits, the Rock comes back to,
they'll be the final boss and I'm in, and then
I'll ye until WrestleMania. Then I'll know who Tama Tonga is.
In the meantime, I don't know that much about him.
So I'm gonna say two hundred.
Speaker 1 (34:40):
Two hundred bucks. What do you think, Emily?
Speaker 4 (34:43):
Yeah, I was gonna go around there too, but I
think I'm gonna go a little lower, and I'm gonna
say one fifty.
Speaker 1 (34:47):
One fifty, all right, what do you think? Sky?
Speaker 3 (34:50):
I think I'm gonna go just a tiny bit higher because,
like you said, he's active right now, so I'm going
to go to fifty to fifty.
Speaker 1 (34:58):
Sky, you had the right idea, you guys. I'm shocked
by Thor. Thor's guests because an active WWE superstar who
is involved in the number one storyline is massive. It's big.
I mean you think of these athletes like a current
NFL player. You know how much he charged. Yeah, and
so that's where we're at. Because Tomatonga of the New
(35:23):
Bloodline charges almost one thousand dollars nine dollars. I mean,
like I could see like Roman Reigns charging that, who's
the biggest face of the company. Well, he wouldn't even
be on it. Yeah, you know what I'm saying, Sky,
you were the closest. This is what you get from
(35:44):
a member of the New Blood Line Tomatonga. Yo, Johnny,
what's up?
Speaker 14 (35:48):
Mano?
Speaker 1 (35:48):
This is man?
Speaker 10 (35:49):
I know you know who the hell this is. This
to the good bad guy Bullet Club original man O
g triple og coming through for you.
Speaker 11 (35:58):
Man.
Speaker 10 (35:58):
Look, thank you, thank you for being a Bullet Club
loyal fan. Man, thank you being a fan all this time.
Not only I appreciate, but we appreciate it.
Speaker 12 (36:10):
Man.
Speaker 1 (36:11):
Always got love for the people that have been riding
with us since day one.
Speaker 10 (36:15):
Johnny, this Christmas, Man, enjoy it with your family, all right,
enjoy it with your daughter and your lovely missus. Man,
because she's the one who got you this bro. All right,
So happy holidays, have a happy merry Christmas and a
happy New Year. Man, be with your loved ones.
Speaker 1 (36:34):
Enjoy it.
Speaker 2 (36:34):
Man.
Speaker 1 (36:35):
A couple of things. He doesn't get a lot of
mic time. Ww I know why. Number two the Bullet
Club what she's referring to as a group of wrestlers
that are in Japan, and like there's a been a
ton of them and it's a big thing over Japan.
One of them at one point. Okay, so that's what
that means. All right, wid let's go ahead and spin
(36:59):
the wheel. See what a lands on time? Oh my gosh,
that is wild. Okay, Well, we don't get a lot
of political figures on cameo. This guy's name was huge
after Trump got elected because he was one of his
nominations who took himself out of the running because of
(37:22):
political scandal. I'm talking about Matt Gates. You guys know
that name. Yeah, yeah, So this guy was nominated for
what was it, attorney general, district attorney. I don't know,
that doesn't sound right general. I forget what exactly was
nominated for. But he's involved in some political scandal or
something like that he's got all kinds of stuff against him,
and so he took himself out of the running. And
(37:43):
now he's going to become like a political analyst on
some you know, Spot news or something like that or whatever.
So he is on cameo.
Speaker 5 (37:50):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (37:51):
So what do you think, Emily, how much does Matt
Gates charge?
Speaker 4 (37:53):
This is tough because, like you said, we don't get
political figures often.
Speaker 5 (37:57):
So, like I don't even know where to begin with.
Speaker 1 (37:59):
Is there any bigger right now?
Speaker 13 (38:01):
No?
Speaker 5 (38:01):
I mean, and Trumpers Trumpers be crazy, they.
Speaker 3 (38:05):
Love Trumpers be crazy Trumpers, Trumpers, Trumpers be trumping.
Speaker 4 (38:09):
Trumpers, you crazy. They got money, they want to spend
it on. Let's let's just go with I'm gonna say
two hundred bucks.
Speaker 1 (38:17):
Two hundred bucks. Yeah, okay, you were hyping it up
and then you came way back.
Speaker 5 (38:21):
I tried to bring myself back down to earth.
Speaker 13 (38:23):
Trump.
Speaker 1 (38:25):
But Matt Gates is he a Trump guy? I thought
he pulled out? Yeah, but he's his nomination.
Speaker 3 (38:29):
He pulled out because like dirty laundry came to the surface.
Speaker 1 (38:34):
And if you're a Trump guy, though, who cares about
I don't know, I don't know. I thought it was
would effect.
Speaker 3 (38:39):
Yeah, wouldn't.
Speaker 1 (38:40):
What do you think, Scott?
Speaker 3 (38:41):
I agree trumpers be trumping, So I'm going to go
three hundred bucks.
Speaker 1 (38:45):
Three hundred bucks. What do you think.
Speaker 6 (38:47):
I don't know really that much about this guy like Tomata,
so I'm gonna say he charges.
Speaker 1 (38:56):
To fit to fifty. Uh, Sky is on it to Yah,
she went the highest. Matt Gates, who I mean, you
got to strike when it's hot on cameo and that's
basically what he did. So he's charging four hundred bucks
four four hundred bucks, yes and again eeo. He is
now going into that whole political analyst role. Yeah, so
(39:18):
you know he's gonna he's gonna even bigger than he
even was. So this is what you get for quarter
bucks from Met Gates. Hey, Tony, it's Matt Gates. Your buddy.
Speaker 2 (39:25):
Wit wanted to send all kind of thank you for
hosting him on a recent golf outing in Hawaii for
his retirement. And you need friends like you, right, I mean,
Wit needs friends like you who can have those terrific
two star hotels available for the greatest adventures. And I
mean you know they're available for the swamp people and
(39:46):
the migrants taking shelter so I mean, at least for
a golf outing, they should similarly be avail. So hope
you have a great time. Hope you continue to enjoy
your great friends. And what a time to be alive.
Speaker 10 (39:58):
Right now.
Speaker 1 (40:00):
You gotta play the hits, I guess so all the time, right, Yeah,
if you're known for a big role, if you're known
for a certain song, yeah, you got to bring it
on cameo. You drop migrants, you drop it. I mean,
that's that's as good as a guest. Honestly, that's as
good as well done Matt. All right, let's spin the wheel.
See what lends on this time? Oh man, all right,
(40:23):
well it is landed on I think one of the
bigger names that I've seen on cameo. You guys know
how big the people from the office are on They're
really one of the biggest crews on cameo. Well, guess
who's joined Rain Wilson. Yes, cool, So Rain Wilson finally
(40:44):
on cameo. I'm surprised it took him this long. Yeah,
So what do we think? How much does rain Wilson
dwite shrut? How much does he charge on cameo? What
do you think? Skuy oh?
Speaker 3 (40:51):
This is tough. I feel immediately that it's going to
be a great cameo. By the way, he's going to
play the hits, like I feel he gets the bit.
Speaker 1 (41:00):
Will he be in characters?
Speaker 3 (41:01):
Oh, he's got to, like yes, I would think so,
come on.
Speaker 1 (41:04):
He's he's a pretty big actor though, So I mean.
Speaker 3 (41:07):
Yeah, oh gosh, I know they make a lot, but
I know they do a lot in volume. So I'm
gonna go to fifty.
Speaker 1 (41:15):
Two hundred and fifty bucks. What do you think, thor.
Speaker 6 (41:17):
Ah, I was gonna say two fifty Yeah, I don't know.
I think this is a big deal. So I'm gonna say.
Speaker 1 (41:23):
Three three hundred bucks. What do you think, Emily?
Speaker 5 (41:25):
I was gonna go three hundred.
Speaker 4 (41:26):
Now I'm gonna even go higher than thor though, and
I'm gonna say three fifty three fifty.
Speaker 1 (41:30):
Well, because Emily, you went the highest, you are the closest.
Because Rain Wilson d White Shout charges five hundred bucks. Oh
my god, So five hundred bucks you're gonna get a
cameo from Wayne Wilson. So this is what you get
for five hundred bucks from Rain Wilson.
Speaker 12 (41:47):
Jack Greetings, I think you know who this is I'm
currently in disguise at an undisclosed location. Do not reveal
my disguise nor the location. Thank you very much.
Speaker 1 (42:01):
Listen, I understand you're turning eighteen.
Speaker 12 (42:03):
It is your birthday. Period, big deal. Everyone has a birthday.
I once turned eighteen, So did your dad. Big whoop?
Who cares. What's more important is that you and your
father have watched The Office eleven times, and that shows devotion, dedication,
and perseverance, all the qualities you will need as a
(42:26):
young adult. I say to you, and I give you
my biggest piece of advice I could give anyone.
Speaker 1 (42:33):
Don't be an idiot. Happy birthday, Jack as good. Oh yeah,
that's great. Don't be an idiot. It's the greatest advice
he ever got from Scott. There you go. Yes, Hey,
that's fantastic. That was really good. That was really good.
There you go. So that is our final cameo roulette
of the year. We'll find out next week. Who is
the year in winter. There was a wild situation in
(42:56):
the Thursday night football game last night. A player on
the team. We're gonna see what went down next in
sports dirt, Oh the weather. Thursday Night Football last night
saw Division rivals go at it as the forty nine
Ers took on the Rams. Now, the first half of
(43:19):
the game was pouring, so both offenses could not get
anything going. The teams traded a pair of field goals
and were tied at three going into the half. Now,
the second half wasn't much better, as both teams still
could not find the end zone, but the Rams kicker
kicked a couple more field goals to actually win the
game twelve to six all field goal. That's crazy because
(43:40):
the Rams scored forty four points last week. Yeah they
were Niners to score two. Yeah, but Darryl twenty six
nothing at the half last week the Niners. So twelve
to six, that's awful. It's the first time the forty
nine Ers failed to score a touchdown in the game
since twenty nineteen. So their playoff hopes took a major
blow as they called the six and eight and the
defending NFC champions they'd probably not gonna make playoffs.
Speaker 6 (44:01):
Seems that lose Super Bowls, you usually have a hard
time getting back.
Speaker 1 (44:05):
I don't know why.
Speaker 6 (44:06):
It's a thing I mean, and that's it's the Chiefs,
you know what I mean. They usually have a hard time.
Speaker 1 (44:10):
The Niners are just decimated with the injuries, and they're
all to the key players, so they just they can't recover.
Now in the game, one of the forty nine Ers
players refused to enter the game. The linebacker Devondre Campbell
was demoted to the third string after Dre Greenlaw returned
to the lineup after he was injured in the Super Bowl.
Remember this was the guy that was just running out
(44:32):
to the field and achilles exploded. He finally was able
to make it back, and so he played in his
first game last night. Well, that didn't did not sit
well with Campbell. Now Greenwall, he Greenlaw was on sort
of a pitch count, and he was only allowed to
play a certain amount of plays, you know, because he's
his first game back and all that stuff, and so
he was being watched. And then his backup de Winters
(44:55):
got hurt and so you go, all right, well Campbell,
your your numbers called your next up. Well he said, no,
well thanks, excuse me, I'm not going to play walked
off the field. What a horrible attitude. It's crazy. Why
did you even get dressed? Don't you tell us that
before the game. Yeah, that way I can dress somebody
who can go and play. Does that ever happen or
(45:16):
this is we've heard about it, Antonio Brown, We've heard
about it happened? Oh yeah, absolutely, sand It clearly wasn't
following the four principles. What's number one?
Speaker 6 (45:27):
At take you damn and to bring effort.
Speaker 1 (45:31):
To bring effort. Okay, what else are we missing? Eddie?
Oh yeah, focus and energy? I kick the hell out
of here. Neither one of those. No energy, you got,
neither one of those done. You don't need it. I
can't have it. I'll talk.
Speaker 6 (45:41):
I'll talk to Kyle. But the coach the Niners, Yes,
did he not tell him the four?
Speaker 1 (45:47):
Clearly not Listen, Kyle's not messing around. He called the
move selfish and that it's going to be dealt with
today exact gun and then a bunch of uh Niner
players were calling it sucker s oh hell yeah more Yeah,
that's insane. Speaking of suckers. Odell Beckham Junior. Yeah, the
(46:10):
Dolphins released the veteran wide receiver and what the team
says is a mutual.
Speaker 14 (46:15):
Decision, had nine catches on the year, though yeah, Welldell
signed a one year deal with Miami obviously.
Speaker 1 (46:20):
Hasn't played that much over.
Speaker 5 (46:23):
He just done.
Speaker 1 (46:24):
Yeah, he's just too many injuries.
Speaker 6 (46:25):
This guy's career, his first three seasons are some of
the best seasons in the history of football. Like his
rookie year, he had played ten games and it was insane.
He was on the projectory for trajectory for a Hall
of Fame career, and then he.
Speaker 1 (46:38):
Just traded the Browns. Got an ego.
Speaker 6 (46:41):
Too many injuries, Like it's said, what happened, because he
would have been one of the greatest.
Speaker 1 (46:44):
He actually was having an MVP game for the Super
Bowl for the Rams, and then he tore his ac
on the game. That took him out even more, and
so he just has never really recovered. He came bigger
off the field on the No, that's definitely true. That's
definitely true. Bill Belichick made his debut as the new
head coach up North Carolina yesterday at a press conference.
(47:05):
Yeah you got and we were not doing any sports
last race, Rady. I guess you didn't hear. He accepted
the job at North Carolina. Yes crazy. He called the
job a dream come true. His father was an assistant
coach for the tar Heels in the fifties, so obviously
is an affinity for the school and hold out an
(47:26):
old fifties jersey that his dad kept and you know,
like he cherishes it. I guess now he's still just
twenty six wins away from the all time NFL coaching
record behind Don Shula. I guess that's over. He's going
to college.
Speaker 6 (47:41):
I think I think the NFL teams didn't want him
because I think that when you hire Bill Belichick, you're
not just hiring a head coach, you're hiring a GM.
And if you look at the Patriots over the last
few years, he's been a terrible GM.
Speaker 1 (47:54):
And if he's not going to bend and control of that,
then then he don't want.
Speaker 6 (47:58):
Him at which sounds insane, but it's tough because if
you have a what GM is gonna tell Bill Belichick
what to do? He's greyst coach ever, so it's it's
tough unless you said them high as I want GM,
but then he's the GM. So I think that's what happened.
Buble see what he doesn't North Caroline. It's gonna be
interesting very well. Him recruiting eighteen year olds, it's gonna
be really interesting.
Speaker 1 (48:18):
But it's weird, like, how do you say no to
Bill Belichick, and then these young kids they don't care.
They don't care about Bill Belichick.
Speaker 5 (48:24):
He's got his young girlfriend.
Speaker 1 (48:25):
She could help. Speaking of college football, the College Football
Awards were handed out last night, and the Colorado's Travis
Hunter walked away as the big winner. He won the
AP Player of the Year award as well as the
Walter Camp Award as the Player of the Year, along
with the Chuck Bednarik Award as the top defensive player
and the Bulitnikoff winner as the best wide receiver. He's
(48:48):
a two way player. He took them all. So yeah,
most likely will win the Heisman Trophy tomorrow when they
present that as well. So there you go. That is
sports stirt for today. Are you the type of person
that just tells the person that you're with exactly what
you want as a president or do you want to
be surprised? We're gonna see what most people want. Coming
up next on the show on Rock with a five
(49:08):
to three Aero Smith on the show, It's Rock one
O five three. So you guys drive me nuts. When
it comes to presents. I take giving presents very seriously
(49:30):
and I enjoy giving presents. I enjoyed the whole process
of it. You guys make me crazy. Well Thor in particular,
him and his wife can't like hand. They don't know
how to do presents.
Speaker 15 (49:41):
Yea.
Speaker 1 (49:42):
So like you'll give her a present like three weeks before,
like her birthday, and I'll be like, dud, why didn't
you give her that for her birthday? And he was like, oh, yeah,
I should have done that. Yeah, what are you doing? Yeah,
you gave her her Christmas present that you'd actually surprisingly
already bought like a month early. Yeah, and though she.
Speaker 6 (50:00):
Had a rough time out somewhere doing something, and it
was the perfect it was a perfect Christmas.
Speaker 2 (50:07):
You're right.
Speaker 6 (50:08):
And I was kicking myself yesterday. But I got her
three gifts so far. I'm gonna get her one more.
Speaker 1 (50:12):
But you'll probably give it to her tomorrow.
Speaker 6 (50:15):
The third gift I got yesterday is an ald timer.
She's gonna love this tim buckle up buffet. Yesterday yesterday.
I can't wait to see the look on her stupid face.
Speaker 8 (50:30):
Away.
Speaker 1 (50:30):
That's a really weird thing to say about your wife.
And then these two gals here, their husband's not great shoppers,
so they basically.
Speaker 5 (50:40):
It's very nice nicer than I would have.
Speaker 1 (50:45):
They basically tell their husbands, this is what you're getting
me for Christmas. Sky has gone so far as just
ordering it and then that's it. That's what you got
me this year. Emily told me recently what your thing
is what you do?
Speaker 4 (50:59):
Yeah, recently, like because Robert just doesn't Robert's not very thoughtful.
He's thoughtful, and that he's like he does do nice
gestures for me, like on a regular basis for the
most part with gift giving, not.
Speaker 1 (51:14):
Thoughtful at all. He doesn't pay attention to little things
the way Eddie does.
Speaker 4 (51:17):
Eddie will hear me talk about something in the studio
ding like light goes off, you make a note of it.
Speaker 1 (51:22):
I understand all that, and that's very specific and I
get it. But he knows you better than anybody. So
you know what your wife likes, you know what your
gal likes, and you go, okay, well, these are the
things she talks about, these are the things she likes.
And I mean, that's not hard to come up with
when you're.
Speaker 5 (51:38):
Especially when you're a bit of a selfish person.
Speaker 1 (51:40):
Thought I that we're attacking those can we not do that?
Speaker 4 (51:45):
So, I I mean, I'd like to not do that,
but that's the way that it is. So he just
asked me now for links, and I just sent him link.
Speaker 1 (51:53):
So you know what you're gonna get? Yeah, are you
okay with that?
Speaker 4 (51:58):
I have to be okay with it, But I wouldn't
want it like that.
Speaker 5 (52:03):
Like I love a surprise.
Speaker 1 (52:05):
Gift like you weren't expecting, Like that's.
Speaker 5 (52:08):
My favorite thing ever. Like my mom growing up, my mom.
Speaker 4 (52:11):
Is the most thoughtful, best gift giver, like aside from
Eddie anyway.
Speaker 1 (52:15):
So I'm just taking my family growing up. I didn't
grow up with you, Eddie.
Speaker 6 (52:18):
Eddie, Eddie, you don't buy Emily thousand dollars dresses for
her birthday.
Speaker 1 (52:23):
So you got dress?
Speaker 5 (52:26):
It was one hundred dollars.
Speaker 4 (52:27):
I'm anyway, So I like my mom's the best gift
gift givers just like like it's as well as you
like it's I guarantee you.
Speaker 1 (52:34):
My gift for you this Christmas is going to beat
your mom's like none. You're not fighting gifts. Get out
of here so excited. Yeah, I'm competent. I might get
more things to win. So what do you like, Sky?
(52:54):
Do you want to be surprised or do you just
not care and just start like, all right.
Speaker 3 (52:59):
See it's do I want to be surprised by Eddie
and the gifts he purchased me? Yes? I do?
Speaker 4 (53:05):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (53:05):
Do I want to be surprised by things my husband
purchases me?
Speaker 15 (53:09):
That's probably not a good idea because guy, Yeah, either
he's gonna buy something from a boutique that's overpriced and
I will never wear and probably doesn't fit me in
some odd way, or he will buy me some sort
of sexual inappropriate thing that, again I will never wear
or want.
Speaker 3 (53:30):
Christmas, you guys remember that Valentine's Day when we were
at Disney.
Speaker 1 (53:35):
Valentine's makes sense because it's sort of a romantic.
Speaker 3 (53:39):
Family resort with our family. So that's just I'm just
showing you like he tries, and he thinks he's nailing it.
Speaker 1 (53:46):
But well, they ask people in a poll, would you
rather get a surprise gift or something that you want
and ask for?
Speaker 3 (53:55):
Yeah, they say, you know, with the day of Amazon
Wishless and PowerPoint pres lots of people are just being
sent links now in twenty twenty four, So do we
like that or not? Well, twenty six percent of people
say I love that. About a quarter of us, they say, yes,
(54:15):
there's no mystery situational.
Speaker 1 (54:17):
It depends on the gift givers. Yes, that's it.
Speaker 5 (54:20):
Absolutely.
Speaker 3 (54:21):
Yeah, if you have horrible gift givers in your life,
then yeah, you of course you're going to love this
because you're actually going to get something you may use
a lot and like. So there's about a quarter of
us who fall into that camp. Fifty six percent say
we prefer to be surprised and we know we're running
the risk that it could be something that we don't like.
(54:43):
Ru Yeah, and eighteen percent say I like them both equally,
so I'd like a little half and half.
Speaker 6 (54:50):
I come from a long line of atrociously bad gift givers.
My parents are the worst. I would come at them
with a list and they would just buy other things
nonalist or the knockoff version.
Speaker 1 (55:01):
But on all these sand discs, I'm going to hit
my head against the I've been hearing.
Speaker 6 (55:08):
They bought me a sand desk instead of an iPod,
and my dad told me, what's the difference.
Speaker 1 (55:14):
They both play music.
Speaker 6 (55:15):
So that's what I grew up with, so now what
I do, and that was for everything. So now when
I do get something that's on my list, like if
I Haley asked me. My wife asked me what I want,
and I tell her and she buys it from me.
I'm surprised because I'm so used to disappointing. Also a
questionable gift giver. I am very hard. Socks and rocks
(55:35):
that you bought, Sky, you.
Speaker 5 (55:37):
Are surprise walk around in them.
Speaker 1 (55:40):
It was just something to sit.
Speaker 6 (55:41):
Yes, you've given I have given questions, but I feel
like the last few years I've turned around a little
bit nailed it. I feel like I've nailed it.
Speaker 1 (55:51):
My wife writer check.
Speaker 3 (55:52):
One year that happened, I did get I did get
a check. But since Haley has gotten true.
Speaker 1 (55:58):
Has helped, Yeah, a little bit like I got. I
wanted to get Sky. This one thing my wife told
me quote that's ugly. So we found something. Okay, good, okay, good,
all right. It is a free comedy Friday today. We're
very happy to have our good buddy mal Hall in studio.
Coming up next on the show A ROCKO five three
(56:24):
that's blank on the show It's Rocking O five three oh.
Coming tomorrow morning, we are going to be Me and
my buddy Malhall are going to be on TV. Together.
So I was last week filming my episode of On
(56:48):
the Air with Soully and Little Tommy that airs on
KOSI on Saturdays eleven am. I believe, so you can
get check that out. And so they had me on
with radio legend Dave Rickards, oh our buddy, Jesse Lozano,
and Mel Mel Hall. Comedian Mal Hall was there as well,
making your debut on that show.
Speaker 13 (57:08):
I didn't know I was going to be on TV
until they said this is going to be on TV.
Speaker 1 (57:14):
You thought we were just all hanging out. I thought
it was a podcast.
Speaker 13 (57:17):
You really, Yeah, So Jesse give me all the didn't
show up camera ready.
Speaker 1 (57:23):
I was just wish I would have known that cool podcast.
I would have died lucky, like if I would have
known that you showed up and didn't realize you were
doing a full TV show.
Speaker 5 (57:32):
Ye, because Eddie had full hair and makeup before.
Speaker 13 (57:36):
Everyone else was done. Dave Rigords was like a thousand dollars.
Speaker 1 (57:41):
That looks incredible. Yeah, and then it was just me
and like one of your mergers that I saw. Yeah, yeah,
that's I believe my four hundred and fiftieth appearance on
that show. And so Mel made his debut. What'd you
think it was fun. Yeah, it's good fun, a little
thing that we do. Crowd was Crowd was cool. It
(58:01):
was fun the time. Not necessarily your normal stand up crew,
not really. My demo's My target was a little older.
He was a little lot older.
Speaker 13 (58:15):
So was like, do you want to do stand up
right now? I was like, it's eleven a m.
Speaker 1 (58:23):
So brutal, just to ask you on the spot, Hey,
say something funny, Yeah.
Speaker 13 (58:27):
Spot on the spot. And I didn't know it was
a TV show. Yeah, so you said when when and
it was like now and I was like, no, not
at all.
Speaker 1 (58:45):
In fact, that's the last thing I want to do brutal. Yeah,
so you can check that out the episode as tomorrow
on KS at eleven o'clock. But yeah, me and Mel
got to do that. So when I was hanging out
and Mel, I'm like, dude, got to come back on
the show. Because we've known Mel, I was trying to
figure out how long we've known each other. I mean
a day one. Yeah we got here in that so
it's almost twenty years.
Speaker 10 (59:05):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (59:05):
Yeah, so we've known Mel. Mall worked in the building. Yeah,
Mal was in radio and you would do different things
for different radio shows and things like that until he decided,
you know what, I'm going to go be a stand
up comedian, which was awesome. Yeah, and you've been doing
it ever since.
Speaker 13 (59:18):
Yeah, for sure ended up being a good decision. At
the time, it didn't seem like it was hard. It
was not the funniest guy I was, because I was.
Speaker 1 (59:28):
It was hard.
Speaker 2 (59:29):
It was hard.
Speaker 13 (59:30):
You have to figure it out, right, But I made it. Yeah,
fifteen years now, paying the bills just on stand up
years clocking anywhere.
Speaker 3 (59:37):
Did your family at the beginning kind of trying to
talk you out of it? Of like Jesus a smart idea.
Speaker 1 (59:42):
I hit it from my mom. Did you hit it
from my mom?
Speaker 13 (59:46):
I hit it from my mom for probably three years.
Speaker 3 (59:49):
And I was like, you're doing something bad.
Speaker 13 (59:50):
Yeah, I was, Well, I was because I was going
to school. I was proSP My mom was paying for
all of my books and everything, and I was not
going to class. I was taking that money and driving
to LA and Orange County and doing open mics. And
then she came to a show and I was like,
I had a joke about joining a book club, and
(01:00:11):
I was like, I dropped out of school so I
wouldn't have to do like homework anymore. And my mom
was in the crowd and she's like, you want to
school and he just asked me for books. Do you
remember do you remember some of your first shows where
you like didn't do so well? Oh yeah, yeah, you
(01:00:35):
probably remember bad shows more than great shows, for sure.
That's you have to bomb. You have to bomb though
to to get better. When are we going to get
Thor to do a like do we want that? I
think we should have Thor open one of my shows.
Speaker 5 (01:00:52):
Incredible.
Speaker 13 (01:00:53):
I mean, he's only doing stand up on Wednesdays in here,
that's our jokes.
Speaker 11 (01:01:01):
Feeling.
Speaker 1 (01:01:04):
Yeah, I have my therapist. I go to therapy weekly.
Speaker 4 (01:01:11):
The s.
Speaker 1 (01:01:13):
It's not.
Speaker 6 (01:01:18):
And my therapist is like, she I've always wanted to
do it, but I'm like, I just it's just it's
just not my thing. And my therapist is like, how
every time I see her, she tells me you need
to do it as like the thing to get over
the hump.
Speaker 1 (01:01:29):
It's gonna make you feel good. You got to do it.
And I've been telling your no for about six months.
Speaker 13 (01:01:33):
Therapist, And now tell that's I didn't know that therapists
prescribe doing stand up.
Speaker 1 (01:01:42):
Laughter.
Speaker 6 (01:01:45):
I feel like when I go on my rants on Wednesday.
These guys make it way easier for me the crowd,
because you.
Speaker 1 (01:01:51):
Just black out. You don't not at all all so angry.
I just have so many notes, like I was an
angry comedian who does like an angry bit, super angry,
super angry.
Speaker 13 (01:02:08):
I think I think Brian Reagan is super angry, but
he hides it behind being goofy.
Speaker 1 (01:02:13):
Might be right.
Speaker 13 (01:02:14):
I feel like I'm pretty angry. Like a lot of
my jokes start off with I hate this, that's true,
and then that's where like all the jokes come from.
Like I'm not a big Christmas person, Like I know,
you just killed it very Christmas out in there a
little bit. I just think, I like, you have ones
(01:02:35):
at home, I know, And I'm not ruining it for
you out of that. No, I'm not ruining it for them.
I'm playing the part. My wife loves that, my kids
love it, and I'm gonna be three just keep coming.
I don't know where they keeping. They're done, We're done
the factor. We're getting ready to chop body parts. We
can't afford it.
Speaker 10 (01:02:56):
I don't.
Speaker 13 (01:02:57):
I'm not sky, I can't afford that. But but I
feel like, like, I know it's Christmas season in southern
California when you go to a store and they're like,
do you want a gift receipt? Do you want to give?
And that bugs me so much, so much because they
know that this thing you're buying for someone else, they're not.
(01:03:20):
They're taking a back hate it so much, so much,
like uh, I remember the day I became aware of it.
I was checking out at the store and the cashier
was like, do you want a gift receipt? Do you
want to get? And I was like, I looked at
what I was buying. I'm like, that's an eight pack
of batteries and a two liters cokes?
Speaker 2 (01:03:40):
Do you have a gift to you?
Speaker 10 (01:03:46):
Like?
Speaker 1 (01:03:46):
This is kmar.
Speaker 13 (01:03:47):
I don't want a receipt. I don't want people to
know that a shop here. I'm gonna give you some
cash and you're gonna keep a secret. That's what we're
gonna do. Every year though people ask you give them
a gift and you could see they're like, do you
have it?
Speaker 2 (01:04:03):
I love it?
Speaker 1 (01:04:04):
I love it.
Speaker 13 (01:04:04):
I love it just the case does.
Speaker 1 (01:04:08):
What story? I like it so much. Listen if you
want to go to see mal perform you can. Mal
has a residency now right now, nearly right, no, right
of all people that resident.
Speaker 3 (01:04:29):
I don't know, I don't know.
Speaker 1 (01:04:31):
Tell me about this residency because this is a really
cool deal.
Speaker 13 (01:04:33):
Yeah. Yeah, So I just started the show at the
Lafayette Hotel loose at the Lafayete.
Speaker 1 (01:04:38):
Which, by the way, if you don't know what the
Loafayette is, if you haven't checked it out, They've completely renovated.
It's gorgeous. It's like old school.
Speaker 13 (01:04:46):
I really wish that I would have gone before the renovation.
I like, I just went there in June and they're like,
do you think you could do a show here? And
I'm like, yes, I think I could.
Speaker 2 (01:04:56):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:04:57):
I think they're like known as one of the best
decks rated Christmas hotels. They have a pop up bar,
pop up Christmas bar in the hotel.
Speaker 1 (01:05:05):
I realize that.
Speaker 13 (01:05:07):
Next week, next Wednesday is your next perform the final
show of the year, because next Wednesday the eighteenth, and
we do the show regularly the last Wednesday every month.
And uh, it's epic. It's like I have my friends
drive down from l A. It's a cool midweek like
show and.
Speaker 1 (01:05:23):
It's especially next week next week. Nobody cares about it
next week week. I care about the show, about the show, but.
Speaker 13 (01:05:36):
It is super cool. You guys got to come. I
feel there's a few tickets left. There's a few tickets left.
But this is one of those shows where it's like
I don't I don't market who the comedians are going
to be. You just know it's going to be a
really cool show. It's a surprise show and uh and
there are some cool special guests popping it on Wednesday.
Speaker 1 (01:05:57):
All right, So yeah, if you go to mal Hall
m A h a l l dot com slash tour,
you can get your tickets, go hang out. It's a
perfect little getaway for a Wednesday evening.
Speaker 13 (01:06:07):
And it's so good like midweek date night. It's not
too late, you know, it's like we do it early
enough where it is nighttime because it becomes whatever ten
pm at four pm.
Speaker 1 (01:06:16):
Here, Yeah, you don't want to do it at eleven
am in none of your center.
Speaker 13 (01:06:21):
I can't do late shows anymore because I get appreciate
it's early. And if you're old like me, you just
go home right after the show. And if you're young,
like your producer here, you just go to all the
cool bars that they have. These guys went and saw
Will Smith last night. Yeah, Will Smith performed nobody.
Speaker 1 (01:06:42):
I didn't know music or comedy music well some jokes. Yeah, no,
it was just well.
Speaker 3 (01:06:52):
And you had like a full band singers. Well and
you is awesome now based on what you said. He
went on stage eight pm. Yeah, yeah, we by like
nine thirty for an old chick like me.
Speaker 13 (01:07:07):
That was just amazing.
Speaker 1 (01:07:09):
It was Yeah, seeing that Will Smith, it was crazy.
Speaker 13 (01:07:12):
If we as like in the age bracket we're in,
if we could be wheels rolling home before it's double
DIGITSI night.
Speaker 1 (01:07:19):
Like perfect nights, Grady, perfect night. We have never sounded
the music. Listen, go see our buddy mail Hole. This
is going to be a great show at the Lafaette Hotel.
I'm telling you go check it out. It's next Wednesday
if you want to go check it out. Mal awesome
(01:07:39):
to see you, but yeah, thanks for having me check
us out on TV that Mel didn't know we were
on TV tomorrow on KA we were talking about shopping
for gifts earlier. Do you have that one person in
your life that is impossible to buy four? You know
what I mean? You know who it is. We're going
to see who that person is the hardest to buy
it for in our lives. When we get back on
the show at rocket A five three, Lincoln Park. On
(01:08:10):
the show's talking on five three, these are both bouncing around. Uh,
there are you feeling it?
Speaker 3 (01:08:16):
S Guy a little bit.
Speaker 6 (01:08:20):
Last night last night the Screnches Heart grew your Last night,
Sky was at will Smith. She stayed out late. I
think she finally got in, realized it was the holidays.
And now ever since then, she's she's in, She's she's
in will Smith. It took seeing will Smith, Chris, Guy's
(01:08:40):
hard to.
Speaker 1 (01:08:42):
Unbelievable. Why is that? Definitely that time of year. Everybody
has this person in their life that is just like
impossible to buy. Yeah, you just don't ever know what
to get them for me. It's my dad. My dad
at this point in his life doesn't want anything, doesn't
even want to really be bothered with opening presents, opening
(01:09:07):
kind of he doesn't really, He's just a grumpy old guy,
you know. And so I say, hey, Dad, what do
you want for Christmas? Make me cookies or something. You're
gonna bake up a cookie? Weird wait, wird thing to
wrap in a present dad, But sure, okay, I'll make
your cookies. Yeah, I mean literally doesn't want anything. So
and he's he's old now, so it's like all the
(01:09:28):
stuff that he used to be into, like golf or whatever,
he doesn't really even care about anymore. And so and
he has everything and doesn't like it's not like he's
without anything. So I have no idea ever want to
get this guy. So it's brutal, man, It's absolutely brutal. Yeah,
so cookies is such a good Yeah, that person only
in your life.
Speaker 4 (01:09:47):
Yeah, it's kind of like the more I'm learning about
like Eddie's dad, I realize like my dad's they're kind
of very similar.
Speaker 1 (01:09:54):
Get him together. My dad is great. Walter Mathow and
John Lemon, that would be incredible.
Speaker 3 (01:10:05):
Lemon Lennon Jack Lemon, Jack Lemon, Wait, everything like that.
Speaker 4 (01:10:10):
But yeah, that's those that's those two. My dad's a
bit like that. He does though a little bit enjoy
opening presence. But my stepdad, Ken, who's the best, is
super sweet, but he like he doesn't have very like
he's not like a hobby guy.
Speaker 5 (01:10:23):
So like you know people with hobbies that's easy.
Speaker 4 (01:10:25):
He doesn't have like many like obviously he's passionate about things,
but I just don't necessarily know no like that. No,
So it's like and they buy whatever they need for themselves.
So it's like, really he's the trickiest one for me.
Speaker 1 (01:10:36):
That's hard. What about a person in your life?
Speaker 3 (01:10:40):
Well, I mean it used to be my dad, but
for a different reason, because he was like old school
depression guy kind of where he like didn't want anything.
He wore the same pair of shoes to literally they
went out of like they didn't make them anymore, and
we would have to find old pairs on eBay. So
I remember one year, my other because he would drink
(01:11:01):
course light, got him a cube of course light because
he's like, well, I know it's something he'll actually use.
So that was miserable. But now it's my mom, and
I think it's just because you.
Speaker 1 (01:11:13):
Know, you know what to get her some sexy lingerie.
She's in a hot new relationship with your new dad.
Some for the honeymoon, I have sexy couple's massage.
Speaker 3 (01:11:26):
I'm so right now, Yes my mom has. Okay, I
am gonna pretend like I didn't hear what you just said,
because that's my mother, and that's discussing.
Speaker 6 (01:11:39):
Aren't you guys going to do that? What do brides
maids usually do the give the bride before.
Speaker 4 (01:11:44):
The wedding Emily, Well, she might be wearing like a
white robe while she's getting ready, some white lingerie usually
for the wedding night it's.
Speaker 1 (01:11:52):
Going to get? Is that what you're gonna get your mom?
Speaker 3 (01:11:57):
No, idiots, I I'm not. I'm just gonna point out
that my mom, to Christmas gifts, has everything she needs,
so it makes.
Speaker 1 (01:12:06):
It really hard not everything she needs.
Speaker 3 (01:12:08):
Okay, can you shut your mouth?
Speaker 1 (01:12:09):
Okay?
Speaker 8 (01:12:10):
Right?
Speaker 1 (01:12:11):
Do you have somebody in your life that's hard to
buy for without a doubt? My mom? I don't even
think my mom likes things. If you if you asked me,
what is your mom likes? I go, I don't know. Nothing.
Speaker 6 (01:12:23):
Windbreakers she does. That's but the windbreakers. Windbreakers aren't because
she likes them. It's because they're a necessity to her.
Like I don't know, I don't I don't think what brings.
I don't know what I don't know.
Speaker 1 (01:12:38):
I don't know.
Speaker 6 (01:12:40):
I couldn't tell you. I mean my mom likes my
dad watches TV, and my mom sits in the computer
reading articles, being annoyed and.
Speaker 1 (01:12:49):
Then she likes to call and complain. Think about the.
Speaker 2 (01:12:55):
My mom.
Speaker 6 (01:12:56):
I have no idea what movies she likes. I don't
don't know what TV. I know she likes c S
I for a long time, but.
Speaker 1 (01:13:04):
He doesn't really like it. No hobbies like she's not
a crochet or barely ever see your life? Okay, my
mom is my mom is?
Speaker 2 (01:13:13):
What do you know?
Speaker 1 (01:13:16):
What do I get it? Normally?
Speaker 6 (01:13:18):
I'm trying to change it up. I'm trying Eddie's steeped
into me where I shouldn't get them gift cards anymore.
Speaker 1 (01:13:23):
So like this year, I I hit a home run.
You actually bought it.
Speaker 6 (01:13:27):
If my dad's easy, you get him something giants, or
my dad gets weird sometimes and wants a book, like
give me a break, dad, people, I know you you
find out somebody reads a book to day. My dad
reads a book. So I got my dad in New
York giants Birdhouse. Can you not he got it already?
I sent it to them already he opened it. Yeah,
(01:13:48):
they opened it.
Speaker 1 (01:13:49):
Wait, remember we're talking about and I said, I don't
understand these people like they don't it's not even close
to Christmas. It's I said, it to that twelve, but
they opened it.
Speaker 6 (01:14:04):
We've always been like this where if we live so
far from each other, it's just that Christmas it's it's
not a big I don't know, it's not a big
because on Christmas, I wherever I'm around, we give gifts to.
Speaker 1 (01:14:17):
But if my parents live somewhere, we opened to early.
But why that's just how we roll?
Speaker 3 (01:14:22):
Is it because you're too cheap to pay for the
Amazon gift?
Speaker 6 (01:14:25):
Because the gift wrapping wasn't an option. For my dad's
bird house, he got a birdhouse.
Speaker 1 (01:14:31):
He wanted it. He loves birds. Love. And then I
got my mom a mug.
Speaker 6 (01:14:39):
That said you're the best f in mom ever, but
efing was spelled out, and she loved God.
Speaker 1 (01:14:46):
I'll tell you my mom's cold blood.
Speaker 2 (01:14:48):
Man.
Speaker 3 (01:14:49):
The grandkids come over and she's drinking out of her.
Speaker 1 (01:14:53):
She loved it. My mom is the toughest person on
earth to buy for.
Speaker 6 (01:14:58):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (01:14:59):
They asked people who in your life is the hardest
to buy for? And they're asking, like what kind of
like person like your mom, your dad, your best friend,
not Steve.
Speaker 3 (01:15:09):
Down the street. No, no that's not that's not the thing. Yeah,
And I don't know their answers aren't rap aligning up
with ours because third place goes to mom with twelve
percent of the people, so we definitely relate to that,
but second place goes to kids with fourteen percent of
the people. I feel like a kid anything the easiest, yes,
(01:15:31):
and the number one person that they say is hardest
to shop for is actually your partner or your spouse
with twenty one percent of My wife.
Speaker 1 (01:15:39):
Says about me, I'm so that I'm just like my
mom and I'm so hard. You're literally one of the
easiest person that's for. I know what your interests are,
that's it, and you're not that hard to please. Thank you.
My mom doesn't have interest. You should say that.
Speaker 6 (01:15:54):
You should make that your goal's not into anything.
Speaker 1 (01:15:58):
You get to know your mom. Well, holiday parties are
can get a little wild, you know, they get a
little crazy. Yah, Well, a lot of times you can
bring your spouse. Well, one guy isn't sure if he
should bring his wife to his work holiday party. We're
gonna see what the issue is when we get back
on the show and rock with a five three. It's
the most wonder time offspring on the show. That's my guy.
(01:16:32):
Chris Sparry. Is that mon That's where the would make
my nipples erect? Now okay, right now, when you walk
that's like some control. It's oh, that has nothing to
(01:16:54):
do were talking about. I do feel that way all. Wow,
holiday parties can get a little buck huh yeah, yeah,
I'm actually it's probably a good thing that we don't
do Christmas parties anymore. At work. We do the after
the New Year party in February, one of the weirder
(01:17:17):
things that our company does.
Speaker 5 (01:17:19):
Not even in January.
Speaker 6 (01:17:20):
Yeah, It's it's really odd, and it's like, yeah, it's
in February, which February is the lamest month of the year.
Speaker 1 (01:17:25):
It's like the thing February has no feel.
Speaker 6 (01:17:31):
Holidays are over, football is over, there's nothing to look
forward to.
Speaker 1 (01:17:35):
It's the worst what happens in March. March sucks, but
February is worse. I don't understand. So I am always
surprised when Emily decides, you know what, I'm going to
bring Robert to our little holiday shindigs. But if it
happened a few times, and I'm always like, out of everybody,
I would think you would be the one who wouldn't
(01:17:56):
want to bring somebody because you're always somehow embarrassed by Robert.
Speaker 5 (01:18:00):
It's true. It's just a mistake I keep making over
and over again. But like he's my best friend.
Speaker 1 (01:18:05):
And we have you always have good intentions, right, it's
going to be a good time.
Speaker 4 (01:18:08):
Always have good intentions, and we do have a blast together.
Like Robert and I really enjoy hanging out with each other. Sure,
and so that's the intentions.
Speaker 1 (01:18:14):
When he gets around other people, you get embarrassed.
Speaker 5 (01:18:17):
Yeah, because he's embarrassing.
Speaker 1 (01:18:19):
But then why would you bring him around over because
I never learn my lesson, ever learned my lesson.
Speaker 4 (01:18:23):
He does weird dances, he's doing weird he acts like
a toddler.
Speaker 1 (01:18:27):
It's a lot. Yeah, to his credit, you do pretty
wild stuff. Oh oh great.
Speaker 6 (01:18:32):
I mean last night you were having the time of
your life and then on the drop of the hat
you just left. But if you're with you and you
don't want to leave, I'd be like, hey, let's stay,
and then you're like, no, I gotta go. So it's
like it kind of goes both The time is up, My.
Speaker 5 (01:18:47):
Time was up.
Speaker 1 (01:18:47):
It kind of goes both ways.
Speaker 5 (01:18:50):
I disagree.
Speaker 1 (01:18:52):
Well, one guy isn't really sure if he should bring
his wife to his company work party.
Speaker 3 (01:18:58):
Yeah. So he just actually started at this company a
few months ago and he likes it. He gets along
with everybody, and he's now learning that they have like
a really big fun holiday party for the whole company.
And so he was talking to the guys because he
has like a crew of guys now that he hangs
out with at work, and they basically told him, oh,
just heads up, none of us actually bring our wives.
Speaker 5 (01:19:20):
To this thing.
Speaker 3 (01:19:20):
This is kind of like we hang out like as
guys and we get draks.
Speaker 14 (01:19:27):
Do it.
Speaker 1 (01:19:27):
I don't think it's like that.
Speaker 3 (01:19:29):
It's just that's not what they're saying. They're just saying like,
this is a time for us as guys and co
workers to let loose together. Yeah, totally like more of
a bonding vibe, eddie.
Speaker 1 (01:19:40):
And so why stop?
Speaker 3 (01:19:44):
And so here's the problem though, his wife. We got
two issues. One, she is a stay at home mother
with multiple children, so she doesn't go out very much,
especially to fun like work parties and things like that.
Speaker 1 (01:20:00):
That's my wife, my wife whenever there is anything she
wants to go because she's a stayed on mom and
she always craves quote adult conversation.
Speaker 3 (01:20:09):
Yes, yes, and that's the same with this woman. She
wants to be a part of it. She she knows
it's coming up, so she's already excited about it, and
assuming she's gonna go. Here's number two wife does have
a little bit of a jealous streak in her, as
we know some women, some men do have that, and
so he is worried now hearing that his guys at
(01:20:32):
work don't bring their wives. And it's kind of this
bonding guy time because number one, his wife's already looking
forward to it, already thinks she's going. And number two,
since he's new at this office and she doesn't know
anybody who works there, she is gonna assume that maybe
there's a reason he doesn't want her to go and
(01:20:54):
meet everybody, because maybe there's some hottie in the office.
Speaker 1 (01:20:57):
To be jealous of it. He's like, do I just.
Speaker 3 (01:21:02):
Bring her so I don't have problems at home? Or
do I kind of try and bond with these guys
at my new job and deal with the wrath at home.
Speaker 1 (01:21:12):
Yeah, it depends who you'd rather deal with. Yeah, this
is these guys at work or the wife at home, Eddie.
This is the easiest decision.
Speaker 6 (01:21:21):
Oh, I would much rather deal with my buddies at
work than my wife at home. Like, it's not worth it, Dude.
I don't know how everyone else's wife is, but my
wife being jealous annoyed that she's not going to something,
I will know that.
Speaker 1 (01:21:37):
You can call me whatever you want. I don't care.
You can say oh p with I don't care. That
is so much easier to deal with than going home
and have my wife fisted me. Now, Emily, let's say
Robert has a holiday work party and he tells you, yeah,
all guys aren't bringing their wives, so I'm not gonna
(01:21:58):
invite you. Is that is that cool? How would that
go over?
Speaker 4 (01:22:01):
I mean, I feel like it's hard for me to
wrap my head around that because Robert really likes my
company and so that'd be weird. And I'm also buddies
with everybody that he's friends with, and I feel like
I'm a company.
Speaker 1 (01:22:13):
Yeah, so you don't know any in the world that, yeah,
nobody's bringing their wives. Yeah, I mean I would have
to accept it.
Speaker 5 (01:22:21):
I mean, there's nothing it wouldn't make you jealous.
Speaker 3 (01:22:25):
You wouldn't have like, like, well, why who's working in
the office.
Speaker 4 (01:22:29):
I know you guys are going to say that I
wouldn't be like that, but I really truly be like, Okay,
Like if he's telling me honestly that nobody brings their wives,
then I don't want to be the only wife there.
Oh it's weird if it's just all the people that
work for the company, And then I guess that is
what it is. I'm gonna be a little bit poopy,
but I don't think I'm going to make his life. Hell,
I don't believe a little poopy.
Speaker 1 (01:22:46):
Sure, I believe that. Oh I know you. I know
how you are, and I don't think you would be
that way. You're being so cool and understanding right now,
that's not how you actually are.
Speaker 6 (01:22:58):
She gets, I remember the time, remember when he had
that uh receptionist at his new job driving together.
Speaker 5 (01:23:07):
Yeah, you were different than he's having an event at work.
Speaker 1 (01:23:10):
Were holiday party? Doesn't want you to go.
Speaker 5 (01:23:16):
I mean, I don't know what.
Speaker 1 (01:23:17):
I'm buying it. I mean I don't know, Yeah, I
don't know. I mean if I would probably just bring
the gal. I mean, who cares at this point, like this, whatever, Yeah,
deal with my buddies is ways.
Speaker 3 (01:23:29):
And then after maybe the first year. Then she'll understand
what's up totally.
Speaker 1 (01:23:33):
I'm sure she's as cool as Emily. Here we Go.
Entertainment Weekly has released their top Christmas movies of all time.
I don't know how I'm gonna feel that this. We're
going to see who they think are the best Christmas
movies ever when we get back on the show, A
rock with a five three, And since we've no place
(01:23:54):
to go, that is the Chili Peppers on the Show's
Rock five three. Something we needed here? Oh we needed
we wait?
Speaker 3 (01:24:08):
You think we needed I've been playing Christmas music all
morning and we're surrounded by Christmas decorations.
Speaker 1 (01:24:14):
Okay, but you give me the Ronettes and you're in
Oh that's who this is? Oh yeah, oh yeah, gave it.
Speaker 3 (01:24:27):
Jazz hand?
Speaker 1 (01:24:28):
How many times? She's thinking, your life, You've heard this
story in one thousand.
Speaker 3 (01:24:32):
And you still have the same amount of joy a
thousand times later.
Speaker 1 (01:24:36):
Sky. Are your kids into this like you are? Do
they embarrassed with you? What do you mean by verse?
I mean they're feeling I'm feeling right now. Yeah, don't
be like that.
Speaker 5 (01:24:51):
Oh no, any your joy brings.
Speaker 1 (01:24:53):
Me, that's all. I'm hopeful, that's all. I want to
do in the world.
Speaker 3 (01:24:56):
Yeah, look at that spread joy?
Speaker 1 (01:24:59):
Sorry but sorry. They love Christmas like I do. So
did they get a little cringed out a little bit?
But they're they're singing Christmas carols too. They want to
hear the Christmas carols. They want to watch the movies
and things like that.
Speaker 3 (01:25:15):
So just your jazz hands a little much, maybe, maybe.
Speaker 1 (01:25:19):
But I don't. Okay, A got in there the other day.
Did move a couple of ornaments around on the tree?
Speaker 3 (01:25:25):
I mean, leave them alone, your kids place them there?
Speaker 1 (01:25:28):
Spot? Got to move them around? Good spot? When is
the tree finally perfect? Is it ever really perfect?
Speaker 5 (01:25:35):
In honesty, you're always up to the last minute, you're
moving stuff around.
Speaker 1 (01:25:39):
It's Christmas Eve one one. They can go right there
and it looks so much better, hangs a little bit better. Okay,
Oh it is a form of it a little bit.
Speaker 2 (01:25:53):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (01:25:54):
We're knee deep into the Christmas movies right now. Last night,
once again on NBC, the Old Home of Rudolph the
Red Nose Ranger.
Speaker 9 (01:26:02):
Got to watch it again again. Oh my god, Well
they're airing it. Blame them, okay, okay, if it's all
I'm watching it. Pal okay, pal okay. That in Santa
Claus coming down. My two favorite Christmas movies of all time.
I love them so much.
Speaker 1 (01:26:20):
Would you say on another level, sure, oh I've heard them.
That's a thing. It deserves it. It's a thing, absolutely, man,
I would say that. But there's others that I really
really enjoy too, really really enjoy elf, really really enjoy
Christmas Vacation. There's a bunch of them that I really
do love watching. There's a couple that don't do it
(01:26:40):
for me though. Oh really, I know you've mentioned Scrooged
before a sky Oh yeah, I love Bill Murray, but
it doesn't give me the feeling that I want. It's
not a joyful movie. No, it's a dark comedy.
Speaker 3 (01:26:51):
Oh, dark comedy.
Speaker 1 (01:26:53):
And then like the Newer and they're not new, I
mean they're at this point, like twenty five years old.
But like Christmas with the Cranks, something like that, glam
the Curtis in it.
Speaker 4 (01:27:04):
I hate.
Speaker 6 (01:27:05):
I hate when that's on and there's nothing else on
and I'm like, really, this is the Christmas movie that's
on right now.
Speaker 1 (01:27:10):
That's not good. Fred Clause, I've never gotten really behind.
Speaker 5 (01:27:15):
I've never liked that one.
Speaker 10 (01:27:16):
Either.
Speaker 1 (01:27:16):
Four Christmas is not my favorite.
Speaker 5 (01:27:19):
It's so underrated. It's funny.
Speaker 1 (01:27:22):
That is a funny movie. Emily will die on the
Four Christmases Hill.
Speaker 5 (01:27:26):
Have you ever seen it?
Speaker 1 (01:27:26):
Yeah, it's funny, funny.
Speaker 6 (01:27:28):
I just said, I just you you uh take it
to another level, on another level. I like, you take
it to plane lay level.
Speaker 1 (01:27:39):
I like the Grinch movies. I'm always into those, or
the animated ones.
Speaker 5 (01:27:44):
Sorry, where are you at with the Santa Claus?
Speaker 1 (01:27:46):
I like them? I don't. I don't my kids really
like the Santa Claus movies. I don't. I don't like
them on their level, but I like them, you know,
especially the first one.
Speaker 5 (01:27:54):
Yeah, I don't like the other ones.
Speaker 1 (01:27:55):
I just like the first. Yeah. I kind of agree
with you. I know I'm missing a bunch, but I
mean there's there's ones that I really like. Home Alone.
Home Alone was a tough one for me to fully
come around that that's a Christmas movie. It's Christmas themed.
There takes place around Christmas time, but the theme isn't Christmas.
The theme is more that the kids left home alone
(01:28:16):
and he's battling the bandits that one. It's fine. I
like Home Alone too. I'll watch it. If it's on
Christmas with the Cranks, I'll give you that.
Speaker 3 (01:28:28):
Do you have any plans in the near future to
watch Christmas Chronicles because that is my favorite? You haven't
seen it. That's not nice. He loves Christmas.
Speaker 1 (01:28:40):
He's not going to watch it out of SI.
Speaker 3 (01:28:41):
Remember you're the guy who's spreading joy the sun year.
Speaker 1 (01:28:44):
Yea, am I not spreading joy because I don't like, well.
Speaker 3 (01:28:47):
If you're doing something out of spy, he's saying it. Well,
I felt I felt you were agreeing with him.
Speaker 1 (01:28:53):
So sitting here.
Speaker 3 (01:28:56):
At any point, uh, watch that.
Speaker 1 (01:29:00):
I like Charlie Brown Christmas like taking newer stuff. It
just doesn't speak to me.
Speaker 3 (01:29:08):
So like Red One? Are you you know?
Speaker 1 (01:29:10):
It's crazy? It's on Amazon. I watched the game last
night and I was like, what the hell? Because my
wife went to the movies last week and probably spent
eight hundred bucks at the movie theaters and you didn't know.
Speaker 3 (01:29:23):
I think it was kind of a surprise draft because
they thought would be going to theaters for Christmas and
turns out.
Speaker 1 (01:29:31):
Yeah, I will.
Speaker 6 (01:29:31):
I will watch Red One on Amazon. Yeah I will
because I want to see because critics panned it. But
sometimes critics pan movies that you like.
Speaker 1 (01:29:38):
True, so I.
Speaker 6 (01:29:40):
Like critics panned for Christmases. Okay, I'm just being honest.
They've panned it, but people like it. I know you
hate the real old like classic ones, just the worst
movies ever made, like Miracle on thirty on thirty fourth
Street with Wonderful Kid. It's wonderful Life.
Speaker 1 (01:29:58):
It's the worst movie ever made. I mean, pay attention.
Speaker 6 (01:30:01):
I don't think you've never seen it. Life is better
without him?
Speaker 1 (01:30:05):
Oh my god, I've never seen any of this. Oh god,
I can't get behind you. Not really loving Christmas Story.
A Christmas Story is one, do it? I love it.
I think it's one movies you have to watch growing
up a little bit. Yeah, you remind me of the
bully kid. Yeah, chases him around.
Speaker 3 (01:30:23):
You look like you look red hair.
Speaker 6 (01:30:27):
Yeah, I'll tell you what if Ralphie punched me, be
going down? I don't think that's right. I don't think so.
Speaker 1 (01:30:31):
You'd have his tongue stuck to that pole. Its tongue,
I don't know, damn it. Anyway. I know Entertainment Weekly
has released who. They say these are the best Christmas
movies of all time.
Speaker 3 (01:30:46):
Yeah, and I have to let you know, a few
of them fall outside of the top ten. We have
the Santa Claus at twenty three.
Speaker 1 (01:30:53):
That's come wild. Well again, when you do these kinds
of things, you're gonna get the old, old, old classics.
They're gonna just they I feel like they have to
mention them. So, but twenty three is pretty stupid. That's
pretty stupid.
Speaker 3 (01:31:08):
Eighteenth to a national Lampoon's Christmas vacation.
Speaker 1 (01:31:12):
It's not even a top ten. I can't take it's
played a million times.
Speaker 3 (01:31:16):
This crazy and just missing the top ten. At eleventh
goes to home alone.
Speaker 1 (01:31:22):
I mean, those are the three of the best. So anyway,
you're okay with that one? No, that's garbage. Yeah, this
sucks hard.
Speaker 6 (01:31:32):
Sixteenth Why you don't die hard, my wife, that's why
we're watching watching to watch it in like June.
Speaker 1 (01:31:41):
That's weird. It takes my Christmas Eve. It does take
christ but it does make a Christmas movie. I don't
know about you, but in the movie they go, yeah, no, no,
I know, was he Russian? Yeah? Still say rushing.
Speaker 3 (01:31:55):
Is he talking about having a machine Russian?
Speaker 1 (01:31:57):
He's some sort of Eastern Yeah, I don't know if
he's Russian. I think he's more German.
Speaker 3 (01:32:03):
That's true. A good point.
Speaker 1 (01:32:05):
It's true.
Speaker 3 (01:32:06):
It will be anyway. Here are your top ten according
to Entertainment Weekly. Number ten, Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer
from nineteen sixty four.
Speaker 1 (01:32:16):
Is terrible.
Speaker 3 (01:32:17):
Number nine the year without a Santa Claus from seventy four.
Speaker 1 (01:32:20):
How dare you? I love you without Santa Claus. Very good,
it's in the same the same guy. You're putting that
above Rudolph. That's like unbelievable, dude, that's so stupid choice.
That's one of the worst things I've ever heard in
my entire life and your entire life. Yes, ever, I
like you without Santa Claus. Miser Brothers fantastic, But come on, bro,
(01:32:44):
that's not even It shouldn't even be in the top ten.
I'll be honest with you. It shouldn't over a Christmas vacation.
I'm not done ranting yet, Skuy, you hold your tongue,
okayis I'm ge pissed.
Speaker 3 (01:32:57):
I've never seen him as past that's wild.
Speaker 1 (01:33:00):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (01:33:01):
Number eight, having to Entertainment Weekly, the Muppet Christmas Carol.
Speaker 1 (01:33:04):
Okay, what are we doing Christmas vacation again? Another movie?
I enjoy. Don't get me wrong, but it should not
even be in the top twenty. Go over Christmas vacation
or home. Okay, are you crazy?
Speaker 3 (01:33:21):
Number seven Bad Santa in the top ten.
Speaker 1 (01:33:25):
Number six I like, but I mean it's definitely a
different type of actual much for me. Sometimes you're trying
get the spirit a little much.
Speaker 3 (01:33:34):
Number six love actually that Christmas, Yes, I.
Speaker 1 (01:33:38):
Mean when you're having a when you're having filming a
porn scene in the movie. I don't know when your
best friend's trying to take your wife sex with your wife.
Speaker 3 (01:33:46):
I don't know that time there's a Christmas concert, Christmas
time there's snow.
Speaker 1 (01:33:52):
Good movie though.
Speaker 3 (01:33:52):
Number five how the Grinch Stool Christmas nineteen sixty six.
Speaker 5 (01:33:57):
Old school, old school ed?
Speaker 1 (01:33:59):
He likes that.
Speaker 3 (01:34:00):
Number four goes to elf.
Speaker 1 (01:34:03):
Okay, I probably put it either like around two or three. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:34:09):
Number three Charlie Brown Christmas.
Speaker 4 (01:34:12):
Shirt he's wearing Charlie Brown fans Snoopy sleeping on his
house with the lights.
Speaker 3 (01:34:17):
Yeah, very is.
Speaker 1 (01:34:18):
Even though I said it earlier. My mom isn't into anything.
Speaker 6 (01:34:22):
Loves Charlie Brown Christmas stoopy chilly.
Speaker 1 (01:34:26):
You know she's not gonna lie.
Speaker 3 (01:34:27):
Okay. Number two goes to a Christmas story.
Speaker 1 (01:34:31):
Hey, great movie.
Speaker 3 (01:34:33):
According to Entertainment Weekly, the number one Christmas movie out
there is It's a Wonderful Life.
Speaker 1 (01:34:39):
Oh God, you said it's the worst movie ever made.
It's so bad. Number one. When he's all depressed walking
around the bridge. Chill, chilly, chill, All right. There was
a situation in Thursday Night Football last night where a
player decided to quit on his team. No big deal.
We're gonna see what happened next in sports shirt. Well,
(01:35:05):
Thursday Night Football last night saw division rivals go at
it as the forty nine Ers took on the Rams. Now,
the first half of the game was pouring rain, so
both offenses could not get anything going. The teams traded
a pair of field goals and were tied at three
into the half. The second half wasn't much better, as
(01:35:26):
both teams still could not find the end zone, but
the Rams kicked a couple more field goals to win
the game twelve to six, all field goals. Brutal manh Yeah,
it's the first time the forty nine Ers failed to
score a touchdown in the game since twenty nineteen, so
their playoff hopes took a major blow as they fall
to six and eight. Now in the game, one of
(01:35:49):
the forty nine Ers players refused to enter the game. Now,
this is pretty wild. It's so insane.
Speaker 2 (01:35:54):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:35:54):
Linebacker Devondre Campbell was demoted to the third string after
Drake Greenlaw returned to the lineup after he was hurt
in the Super Bowl. It was his first game, so
they sort of had him on a pitch count sort
of a thing, you know, only a certain amount of plays,
and they kind of used it all up in the
first half and so he wasn't really playing much in
the second half. And then his backup de Winters he
(01:36:18):
got hurt. So then you go, all right, well, Campbell,
you're up. You actually get to go in. Congratulations Paul
Well in a little bit of a tantrum, he said, no,
I'm not going in. You're getting paid. This is your job.
What are you talking about. So, yeah, that did not
go over well with the locker room. All of his
teammates were pretty pissed. His head coach Kyle Shanahan called
(01:36:40):
the move selfish and that he's going to be dealt
with today.
Speaker 6 (01:36:43):
For the nine Ers, I haven't I mean, obviously they
have injuries, but the locker was a little messy this year.
A couple of games ago, Deebo Samuel choked and slapped
the long side. That's little, I mean exaggeration. He put
his arm around his neck his deck and then he
slapped the kicker. I don't know how it was a
bigger story. And then yesterday he had a crazy drop
and I'm like, oh, I wonder if the long snapper
(01:37:04):
and the kicker are gonna put their hand around his
neck and slap them. And then what bothers me even
more is the guy would I don't even know this
guy's name, it didn't play, he doesn't come in. I
would hope that Deebo approaches him and yells at him
the way he did the long snapper of the kicker.
I'm really defending this long snappers. I guess so because
it's so messed up to me that he did this.
But my point is the locker room clearly has some
issues going because because like, guys are aren't playing, guys
(01:37:29):
are angry, Debo's tweeting things out of I'm not getting
the ball right, So there's clearly something going on.
Speaker 1 (01:37:34):
You would know this better than anybody losing breeds. This
kind of thing. And so if you're not winning, you're
gonna get a lot of selfish attitudes, You're gonna get
a lot of you know, infighting, and it's your fault.
It's just surprising because there's such a solid squad. They're
a great organization. But I mean, it's just not their
year this year. So you think gonna be on that
team next year? Tough to say. Yeah, you know if
(01:37:57):
I mean, if he's causing this many problems, Pobbable not.
It's surprising because he was on Receiver that show on Netflix.
He was really like him. Yeah, I thought so too,
and he was a team guy. But he's choking player.
He's speaking of team guys. Odell Beckham Junior. He is
out of work now. The Dolphins have released the veteran
(01:38:17):
wide receiver in what the team is saying is a
mutual decision.
Speaker 14 (01:38:22):
Yet nine catches in a year, Odell Odell sent a
one year deal with Miami hasn't played very much for them.
Speaker 1 (01:38:28):
So yeah, I don't know, this might be it for Odell.
I don't know who's gonna sign him.
Speaker 6 (01:38:32):
That draft had uh shoot, I forgot that with Mike Evans,
Odell Beckham and somebody else was Sammy Watkins, and Sam
Watkins was the first guy taken. He was kind of
a bust and Odell was like the guy. But clearly
Mike Evans is the best player in that fan. Yeah,
he's a Hall of Fame Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:38:51):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (01:38:51):
Bill Belichick made his debut as the new head coach
at North Carolina yesterday at a press conference. He called
the job a dream come true. And you if you're
wondering why, while, it turns out his father was an
assistant coach for the Tar Hills back in the fifties,
so he has an affinity for the school, and you know,
he really wanted to coach there. So he is now
(01:39:13):
no longer in the NFL. He's now a college coach.
I just can't even imagine Bill Belichick. Have they announced
it staff yet? Like there is word that he may
be bringing his boys, you know, the Matt Patricias, the
Josh McDaniel Judges. Yeah, all those guys be coming to
North Carolina. And he's just twenty six wins away from
the all time NFL record behind Don Shula, and I
(01:39:33):
guess that's done.
Speaker 2 (01:39:34):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:39:35):
I imagine him coming back to the NFL after this.
Speaker 6 (01:39:37):
I would say the next coach has a shot that
is Andy Reid, maybe because they don't lose ever.
Speaker 1 (01:39:41):
Now, yeah, that's so true. And the College Football Awards
were handed out last night and Colorado's Travis Hunter he
walked away as the big winner. He won the AP
Player of the Year award as well as the Walter
Camp Award as the Player of the Year, along with
the Chuck Bednarik Award for the top defensive Player, and
the Bullet and a Cup and Winner as the best
(01:40:03):
wide receiver all in college football. He's a two way player,
so he took all those awards, so pretty sure he's
gonna walk away with the Heisman Trophy that they are
gonna hand out tomorrow as well. There you go. That
is sports dirt for today. We really have come a
long way from when VR was first invented. Remember the
(01:40:23):
first VR machines they were not that great. Now this
is pretty wild. We're gonna see what one company is
introducing with their VR device when we get back on
the show on Walk with a five to three, I'm
gonna be enders the miss Pink Floyd on the show.
It's rock five three. There was a little while there
(01:40:44):
where thor got really into VR. He was really into it,
and I remember you went and did some like VR
thing locally here. There was like a place that was
doing the round. I don't know, I don't know. Now
you were shooting zombies and alien It's so cool.
Speaker 6 (01:41:04):
It's so cool VR, and it's only gotten better and
now they have VR and AR, so you could do
like a full immersive thing, or you could have like
the Apple thing or the Meta thing where you put
on the thing and then it's like you're doing stuff
but you're seeing everyone else in the room as well.
Speaker 1 (01:41:21):
I want it. I want it, even though I think
it's going to ruin society.
Speaker 6 (01:41:24):
But my therapist and my wife think it's a bad
idea for me because I probably will never take it off. Yeah,
but you could like do watch you there's this stuff
now you can do where you could play a football
game and you're the quarterback and you're literally like throwing
passes and you're in the stadium, or they have it
where like well you can watch NBA games as if
you're on the court.
Speaker 1 (01:41:44):
Wow, which is crazy.
Speaker 6 (01:41:45):
I'm like, it's only and they it's called and you
use NBA League Pass and it's on Meta it's a thing.
And then like I'm I think only a matter of
time for w W E g's involved in this and
you can like watch matches, right, that's how.
Speaker 1 (01:42:00):
You Eventually that will be the thing. Yeah, in the future.
You know, there's so many ways they can go with this.
But I mean, do you guys remember the beginning of VR.
It was kind of terrible, like you couldn't really even
do things. Yeah, do you guys remember the time we
were at Comic Con and Emily freaked out? Was when
we put on a We were doing these VR like
displays and mid sets, and it was the thing where
(01:42:21):
you were on a building, yeah, and you look down
and you literally looked like you're fifty stories high and
there were different like ships attacking you and you had
to like shoot them down and whatever. Emily tried it
and lasted about thirty seconds and freaked out on a
weird level.
Speaker 5 (01:42:36):
I was right on a full over, I mean flash
life flashed before.
Speaker 1 (01:42:41):
My couldn't really make the adjustment.
Speaker 4 (01:42:43):
Absolutely, no, boy, I had like absolute fear, panicked, absolute fear.
Speaker 3 (01:42:49):
Yeah, like almost in tears.
Speaker 6 (01:42:52):
I didn't want to almost I think she was get me.
That's how realistic VR is crazy, Like it's crazy. So yeah,
I you can find it eventually figure out like I'm
in a game, I'm not really.
Speaker 7 (01:43:06):
You know.
Speaker 6 (01:43:10):
Emily's the kind of person that's having the time of
her life and then in seconds leaves the show.
Speaker 1 (01:43:15):
Really no nobody really can. But anyway, so yeah, VR
is not maybe for everybody, but this one, Emily, you
may be into because VR is taking a massive leap.
Speaker 3 (01:43:29):
Yeah, because it's all about involving all of your senses,
so you feel like you're actually there, right, you're actually
part of whatever you're watching or whatever you're playing. Well,
one university in Hong Kong is making news because they
have just done their first round of tests on a
new device that will let users experience taste in virtual reality.
Speaker 1 (01:43:55):
That's possible.
Speaker 3 (01:43:56):
So it's this like wand like thing that's shaped kind
of like a lollipop, which I don't know, I don't know,
it's kind of weird, kind of weird, but yeah, it
is a portable device that could you know, bluetooth connect
to whatever you're watching or whatever, and it uses full
food grade chemicals and also electric currents to mimic flavors.
(01:44:22):
So so far they just have a basic line of flavors,
but they hope to grow it. So right now they
have things like cherry and green tea, milk, grapefruit, stuff
like that, and then they hope to like grow this
technology so you can actually program it to taste like
a specific dish like stuffing or you know, yeah, meatloaf, whatever, Well,
(01:44:49):
I mean, whatever do you love?
Speaker 1 (01:44:51):
I don't want that, So.
Speaker 3 (01:44:55):
They say the hope for this application two different things.
One is, if you watch cooking shows, you can taste
the dishes along with the judge.
Speaker 1 (01:45:06):
How crazy it.
Speaker 4 (01:45:07):
Would be wild, But it's hard to believe that they
would nail it with all the different flavors and some
of those dishes.
Speaker 1 (01:45:13):
So you don't I don't know.
Speaker 4 (01:45:15):
I just don't buy it that it's gonna it might
might get similar to like what the dishes, but there's
no way it's gonna have all those little unique flavors.
Speaker 3 (01:45:23):
Well, you're not going to have the hot or the
cold or the like crunch or the you know, you'll
just have the flavor.
Speaker 1 (01:45:30):
Somebody's making a cake and you have your little tasting
wand there and you lick it it and it tastes
like cake. That's yeah. They're just trying to give you
the more immersive experience. Yeah, so I don't know this.
You're gonna taste exactly like the cake that that person
is making, but you're tasting cake, but you could taste
fun fetti.
Speaker 3 (01:45:47):
Oh sure, the cake A great time.
Speaker 1 (01:45:53):
But the only weird thing is, like, I'm not sharing
my wand with anybody your tastes, right, I'm like, yeah,
you gotta taste this cakes.
Speaker 3 (01:46:01):
I think everybody would have their own wand I would,
I would hope, but.
Speaker 1 (01:46:08):
Yeah, they use half of it.
Speaker 3 (01:46:11):
But could you imagine coming home and your spouse is
sitting on the couch wearing glasses, licking some wand like that. Okay, okay,
weirdos well for saying it out loud. So that's one application.
But the other application that they're looking for is so
(01:46:32):
you can sample new food products. So if you see
a commercial for a brand new flavor of I don't know,
kit Cat, and then at the end of the commercial,
you can connect your wand to taste said kit cat.
They say, that's that's pretty cool, and we'll do that. Yeah,
so we're at the beginning stages. It's a little limited
in the flavor profile right now, but they're working really
(01:46:56):
hard to make it crazy.
Speaker 1 (01:46:58):
But you know what's from is I watched some of
these cooking shows and they'll go and they'll go have pizza,
and I'll be like, man, now I really want pizza.
And if I could taste pizza, I don't know is
that good or bad?
Speaker 5 (01:47:12):
You want pizza even more because who wants to?
Speaker 1 (01:47:15):
Yeah, I get what you're saying, but like, I don't
know certain things, I don't care.
Speaker 6 (01:47:19):
If it would be all about like tasting a candy thing,
I would only sweets. Yeah, for me, it would only
be sweets. I wouldn't want to taste pizza.
Speaker 1 (01:47:27):
You know what I mean? If somebody, if your favorite person,
like say our boy Richard Blaze is on a TV
show and he's making this special burger, you wouldn't want
to taste it. Or somebody you're like, you're never gonna
have Gordon Ramsey's steak and you, I mean, he actually
has a restaurant called steak, but right there in front
of you, and God, that looks good and you could
(01:47:49):
taste it.
Speaker 6 (01:47:49):
Yeah, for me, i'd use it more of a I'd
want more of a sweet thing. It'd be weird tasting
a steak.
Speaker 1 (01:47:56):
Why, I don't know. That's just how.
Speaker 3 (01:47:57):
It's almost like drinking a steak like you couldn't drink candy.
It's like this, if you can't chew it, I feel weird,
just like you're saying about same.
Speaker 1 (01:48:05):
Candy, but candy like sweets. I could take it. Yeah,
So I'm what sky on this one.
Speaker 3 (01:48:10):
We'll work it out.
Speaker 1 (01:48:10):
Means guy, that's the person that you damn it all?
Speaker 3 (01:48:16):
What do you say?
Speaker 1 (01:48:16):
Coming up on Monday, we'll be playing our last newly
show game of the year. Plus we're gonna begin our
military Christmas bonus giveaways. Get ready, It's all on Monday.
We'll see you then,
