All right, so I'm gonna take you back in time
just a little bit, and I want you to think
of your favorite ice cream, oh man, like childhood and beyond.
Speaker 2 (00:29):
Okay, I can picture it, Okay, Okay. We were at
Woodmar Mall.
Speaker 5 (00:35):
I don't remember the name of the place, but it
was Bubblegum ice cream, and I remember we would always
go back to school shopping there or shoe shopping there.
That was always the treat at the end, bubble gum
ice cream.
Speaker 1 (00:46):
Calvin loved bubble. In fact, it was Bubblegum ice cream.
I believe where he lost his first two.
Speaker 6 (00:53):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (00:53):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (00:54):
For me, it was Thrifties Rainbow Surbert. Yes, I love
those thrifty cone so good.
Speaker 1 (01:01):
Okay. So I remember this only because my dad loved
it so much, and we would get Schwans delivered to
the house.
Speaker 4 (01:10):
Yes, my neighbor gets ice cream delivered. Really yeah, you
see that happening?
Speaker 5 (01:14):
Can I just side bar really quick? On Schwan's Growing up,
we had the Schwan guy.
Speaker 2 (01:18):
His name was Roger. He started flirting with my mom.
Speaker 5 (01:20):
Uh huh because my dad was at work and he
would come more often than he needed. Oh so my
mom when she would see the truck, she would say, guys, hide.
Speaker 2 (01:28):
He would just.
Speaker 5 (01:28):
Stand there and ring the doorbell, Ring the doorbell, ring
the doorbell. We would hide behind couches.
Speaker 1 (01:32):
Oh no, No, all I can say is Kevin doesn't
look like anyone else in.
Speaker 7 (01:37):
The fan.
Speaker 1 (01:39):
Your brother, right?
Speaker 8 (01:42):
It is true.
Speaker 1 (01:43):
Well, my dad loved Schwans and he would get the
big tubs because we're a family of eight. Butter brickle,
Oh have you ever heard of it?
Speaker 9 (01:51):
No?
Speaker 1 (01:51):
Okay, So my dad loved butterscotch because as a kid,
his dad owned a store and they had butterscotches. So
butter brickle started out as a candy like butterscotchy toffee
surrounded by chocolate. And then they smashed it up like
think of a heath bar. Put it smashed up heath
bar in vanilla ice cream. So there's all this list
I saw this morning about once popular ice cream flavors
(02:14):
that you hardly ever see anymore. Tin roof don't know.
I don't know it either, but it sounds great. Vanilla
based chocolate sauce swirled in with chocolate dipped peanuts.
Speaker 2 (02:26):
Okay those, yeah, that was good.
Speaker 1 (02:30):
Tea berry never heard of that made of tea berries,
so I don't know those were used like his winter green.
But parmesan cheese ice cream what fan Lwin you knows? Anyway,
they did. They did parmesan so but but that butter brickle,
(02:50):
and I saw that. I'm like, my dad is sending
me signs.
Speaker 5 (02:53):
Do you guys remember those cups you mentioned the swirl,
the chocolate and vanilla swirl, like those cups where you
had to paper lid that you yes, And then there
was the wooden spoon, But really that ice cream didn't
taste like much other than the wooden spoon.
Speaker 1 (03:05):
Oh yeah, you're right. We had those at the swimming
pool because we would have swim practice twice a day,
so in between we would stay my mom's like what
are you gonna eat? What are you gonna eat? Sometimes
we'd bring lunch like peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, but
we would end up eating funnel cakes and those little
ice cream cups.
Speaker 8 (03:22):

Speaker 1 (04:57):
Is Friday, the thirteenth edition. Superstitions. If you wear earrings
when you're married, you'll always be happy. That's a superstition
I had not heard before. But there's a guy named
William Carroll who wrote ten thousand superstitions you really need.
So if you wear earrings when you're married, you'll always
be happy. Snoop Dogg's are married for twenty seven years.
He came out this morning and talked about the key
(05:18):
to his long marriage. He said that his wife understands him.
She's a great mother, a tremendous grandmother, an excellent wife,
and a great friend. She knows how to push all
my buttons and make me act like a blank blank fool,
or to make me look cool, and he loves it.
Jamie Lee Curtis has been married to Christopher Guest for
forty years and she has a secret to her marriage.
(05:39):
She said that they have a phrase in addiction recovery.
If you stay on the bus, the scenery will change,
and she says, that's marriaged. She said, yeah, you literally
can't stand each other. And then the next day it's
a pretty sunny day and the dog does something cute
and you look at each other and you're like, oh,
I love you so much. So yeah, snoop Jamie the
Curtis marriage advice and what about this Britney spears. Her
(06:02):
voices changed radically. I hadn't heard her talk for a while.
I do follow her on Instagram. I know you guys
do too. But Brittany's had many famous moments over the
years that the MTV VMA's, the ratings went up eight percent.
Four million people watched. Katy Perry was honored. Sabrina Carpenter,
(06:22):
one of my favorites, was also a performer, and one
Britney talked about it.
Speaker 12 (06:28):
I didn't watch the VNA's, but I did see stuff.
Sabrina Carpenter, why she kissing the alien on stage? I
adore her, I love her today. I didn't understand that part.
Why didn't you kiss a girl?
Speaker 6 (06:38):
Like that?
Speaker 5 (06:38):
Was weird?
Speaker 12 (06:39):
Like the whole thing was kind of like weird altogether.
The Sabrina girl she said my name on the red carpet,
and I thought that was kind of cool, because I've
forget I'm famous sometimes, but I thought was kind of cool.
Sabrina girl, Carpenter, she said something by them, and I
was like, thanks, that's cool.
Speaker 1 (06:54):
It's changed a lot. Are we worried?
Speaker 2 (06:58):
Yeah, a little bit, yeah, a little bit.
Speaker 8 (06:59):
It's the ellen K Morning Show. Thank you, Ellen K.

Speaker 1 (08:25):
That is not? No, that's not.

Speaker 2 (09:10):
A couple of superstitions.
Speaker 5 (09:11):
I don't think any of us maybe have ever heard
if you wear old shoes on Friday the thirteenth, your
oldest pair of shoes you're supposed to wear to prevent
bad luck.
Speaker 1 (09:19):
Oh okay, okay, I'm wearing old shoes.
Speaker 2 (09:22):
This is a weird one. Okay, I don't think I
believe in this one.
Speaker 5 (09:26):
But if you sleep or live with a snorer, if
you whistle while they're snoring on Friday the thirteenth, they'll stop.
Speaker 1 (09:33):
Oh that's a very valuable one to know.
Speaker 2 (09:35):
Uh huh. Have you ever worn red pepper in your shoes?
Speaker 6 (09:38):
No?
Speaker 2 (09:39):
Old pepper?
Speaker 6 (09:40):
Yep.
Speaker 5 (09:40):
And this is important to anyone looking for a new job.
Lore has it that if you wear red pepper in
your shoes, you'll get hired. Sneezing twice before breakfast? What yeah, wait,
wait to hear what this does? It brings you a
new lover if you wear a dime in your shoe, yeah,
(10:00):
you'll never be unlucky.

Coast one O three point five.
Speaker 1 (10:30):
Top Stories, Top of the Hour, Good morning of Ellen
k And that magnitude four point seven earthquake that hit
Malibu and nearby communities yesterday had a whole bunch of aftershocks.
USGS seismologist Lucy Jones said that Southern California has had
more than the average number of magnitude four quakes in
southern California this year, the average being about eight magnitude
(10:51):
four sequences. So far, we've set a new record. We've
had fourteen here in southern California. The largest previous year
was thirteen. On what abut this? Sixty seven is the number.
That's how many active wildfires are burning across the US,
including nine right here in California to in Nevada. And
that's according to the National Interagency Fire Center. California's Line
fire and San Bernardino County is burning so intensely that
(11:14):
it has created its own weather. Thirty three hundred firefighters
are battling that blaze as we speak, and the Postal
Service has a new delivery vehicles. They're not going to
win any beauty contests. They're tall and ungainly. The windshields
are huge, their hoods resemble a duckbill odd appearance. Aside,
the first handful of next generation delivery vehicles are getting
(11:35):
rave reviews from our postal delivery men in Way. They
say that these trucks are amazing. This will be a
big rollout that has already started happing sixty thousand of these.
You'll see them. They're super tall and they're just I
don't know, they're this awkward looking. Once fully deployed, they'll
represent one of the most visible signs of the agency's
tenure forty billion dollar transformation, and talk about it. Feel
(11:59):
good Friday are nicest day and forever highs around seventy five.
We keep cooling through the weekend, might even get some
rain on Monday. Long Beach your high seventy five low
metaw you're gonna see seventy five for you're high as well.

We're grateful for you. Use that talkback button all you want.
It's on our iHeartRadio app and take us everywhere you go.
Feel Good Friday. And I think this is just such
a good feel good. If you're the best at what
you do, you're number one, you Guinness World record holder,
just being celebrated for something that you excel at. Like Eric,
(13:03):
he's sixteen years old and he has the largest feet
on a teenager. Oh so yeah, so this is just
something that he was blessed and gifted with when he
was born. He came out with very large hands and feet.
Let's see, so a teening between between sixteen and eighteen.
Usually teens have feet between size nine and twelve. But Eric,
(13:27):
who is sixteen and holds the world record of the
largest feet on a teen has sized twenty three. So
thinks Shaquille O'Neill, Oh yeah, yeah, he's not a basketball player.
He's just a Guinness World record holder. And he said
that he likes standing out. It makes him special and
it helps him, you know, sets him apart. What about
this guy. There's a guy. His name's Twinkle Toes and
(13:49):
he lives in England and he is the world record
toe wrestling champion. And for the last fifty years, this
town he comes from in England has produced these champions.
So it's kind of in his DNA. They call it
toe tussling. And I don't know if you've ever done
it before.
Speaker 2 (14:07):
Now I don't even know where to begin. How do
you tow wrestler?
Speaker 1 (14:10):
Well, it's like, have you ever thumb wrestled? Yeah, okay,
you do it with your toes, your big toes. So
his name is Ben and he's thirty five years old
and it was invented in this English town by a
bunch of drunken revelers and so then it became a
sport and now this guy Ben is the world champ.
He says, quote, most people don't realize how much skill
(14:30):
is actually required in the sport. There's way more strength
and core muscle. He is six ' five, he's a phenom.
And so we say congratulations to you, Ben for that
record that you set. That's a that's a talent.
Speaker 6 (14:42):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (14:42):
Speaking of talents, this just in the Rock was asked
by his publicist to stop talking.
Speaker 2 (14:48):
He shared that he has a special gift.
Speaker 5 (14:50):
He says, when he drinks a lot of tequila, he
does a I guess a party trick. Oh okay, he
can pick up a grape, yeah, not using his hands.
Speaker 1 (15:02):
Does he use his toes like Ben?
Speaker 2 (15:03):
He does not use his toes nor his mouth. Oh
so I'll just leave that right now.
Speaker 1 (15:07):
Oh okay, picks up a great.
Speaker 2 (15:11):
Raw cooking.
Speaker 1 (15:14):
Do you have a special talent?
Speaker 2 (15:15):
He's got tight muscles.
Speaker 7 (15:16):
That guy.
Speaker 1 (15:18):
Give us a call. Eight and ninety nine, KOSG it's
your feel good Friday. This is Jeremy Renner, This is
Kate Hudson.
Speaker 8 (15:26):

face and then I washed it in the bathtub with me.
He took a bath, and he never quite looked the
same again. But I loved I've loved him. I've loved
the fur off of it.

If you had to name the healthiest, maybe you'd pick broccoli, kale, carrots.
While those are all good for you. And the vegetable
deemed the healthiest by the CDC is one you don't
find it very often. It's watercress. The leafy green scored
a perfect one hundred out of one hundred in nutrient density.

It's an aquatic plant that grows in shallow water or
damp soil. Has a peppery flavor packed with vitamins. Minerals
and antioxidants. You can cook it, but experts it's better
to have it raw, toss it in a salad, added
to a sandwich. Watercress is your friend. You can even
use it as a garnish other powerhouse vegetables. According to
the cdced around out the top three, number two Chinese
cabbage scoring a ninety two out of one hundred, and
(22:00):
then Swiss charred is number three eighty nine out of
one hundred for those points, and Lego and McLaren teamed
up to make a full sized supercar out of three
hundred and two thousand Lego Technic pieces. It's drivable too.
An F one driver took it around a lap and
it took him eight hours to complete that lap, so
it wasn't a fast one, but still the car was drivable,
(22:21):
and F one driver Orlando Noris said it was a
lot of fun and he'll remembers Flappy Bird, the massively
addictive mobile game mega hit that debuted on devices in
twenty thirteen. It then disappeared. Well the bird is coming back,
you'll recall. The creator famously pulled the game from phones
after only eight months because he felt so bad people
spend so much time playing it. He said it was
meant to be relaxing, not addictive. He has soon signed
(22:44):
away the rights and a new brand operator just dropped
a trailer for the coming return of Flappy Bird and
talked about a feel good Friday, Our nicest day in forever.

I'm sure you've noticed the calendar this morning. It is
a Friday, it is the thirteenth. Do you, coach Drew,
have any superstitions or rituals before a game.
Speaker 6 (24:50):
Well, I have plenty of rituals and superstitions, none of
them Friday the thirteenth isn't any of them for football.
But yeah, I think all of us coaches, you know,
we feel like the same show, the same shoes, the
same process every day, you know, and if something's not working,
we'll change it up. So yeah, there's lots of things
that as a staff, each of us have our own
(25:10):
idiosyncrasy and things we like to stay on task with.

(33:52):
it I'm one episode in to season four, part two.
I've been watching it all along. If you haven't cracked
it yet, crack it open on Hulu. Only murders in
the building. They don't take you to a reality show
that I'm really liking on Hulu, The Secret Lives of
Mormon Wives. They're doing things that really, I don't care
(34:15):
what religion you are, no wives would be doing these things.
They do things that wives just shouldn't be doing. So
you could replace Mormon within, you could lose the word
Mormon if they just happen to live in Salt Lake
City and they happen to be Mormon, but they do very,
very naughty things.
Speaker 2 (34:31):
Have you started it?
Speaker 1 (34:32):
Oh? Yes, I have?
Speaker 2 (34:33):
Is it stuff in the household?
Speaker 1 (34:37):
Does it happen in the household? Yes? It does. Really
the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives on Hulu reality.
Speaker 10 (34:46):
Let's stay in the reality world and go to U Dar. Okay,
I'm all in on selling Sunset. I'm on episode four.
Speaker 1 (34:54):
And this is season eight on Netflix.
Speaker 10 (34:57):
What I've noticed is that the villains of this show
continuously have bad luck, and I'm seeing that with Chelsea
right now. Oh Chelsea, So I intend on finishing it
this weekend.
Speaker 1 (35:07):
Okay, great, all right, you guys are in reality.
Speaker 5 (35:10):
I'm gonna take you to actual reality, the real world.
Oh okay, see that's right here.
Speaker 2 (35:13):
That's a ticket. That's a movie ticket.

great weathers here. Firefighters are getting a huge assist from that,
And thank you firefighter. If you see when today thirty
three hundred of them on the line fire alone and so,
and look at all they do for us even when
they're not battling brutal blazes. Anytime we wanted to there's
a firehouse not far from our house, they would like
(36:58):
Calvin Combe and time on the truck and do a
mini slide on the pole and all that stuff. I
just I love them.
Speaker 5 (37:05):
A couple months ago, we had a listener call and say, hey,
