It's so sad, it's like, but also it's happy glad
because it's just going to be a fun, infestive weekend.
Speaker 7 (00:54):
So can I just say one quick thing that I'm
super excited about, not only the festival, and I'm not
going to I don't want to get emotional here, but
I'm bringing my brother this year. And Kevin lives in
Nashville and he's never he never really does anything for himself,
and he's always got, you know, the kids and everything
he's balancing back at home. But he finally peeled away
for a weekend. And I'm just so pumped, not only
(01:14):
for our show, but to just really spend their time.
Speaker 1 (01:18):
Yes, maybe some of you will were rebuff on him.

you Ryan and your happiness hacks.
Speaker 3 (02:22):
Well, I'm glad Ellen and Darlene.
Speaker 7 (02:24):
I feel like this is something because you have these
kind of I don't want to say witchcraft.
Speaker 3 (02:29):
You have these.
Speaker 7 (02:31):
You have these sort of folklorish traditions like I don't know,
don't you do something with an egg?
Speaker 3 (02:38):
You wave an egg around your body to get rid
of evil?
Speaker 10 (02:40):
Yeah, you do know a lot of these folk I
don't do that, but that was done to me when
I was little. So my grandma would rub an egg
over my body and it was to be said that
it removes anything bad, bad spirits, bad energy.
Speaker 1 (02:56):
Yes, it makes you a good egg.
Speaker 3 (02:58):
Yeah, Olympia is what it's okay.
Speaker 7 (03:00):
Yeah, this kind of seems in that same family right
at the Ali. I've never heard this. Maybe Dar your
family has done this.
Speaker 3 (03:05):
I don't know.
Speaker 7 (03:05):
But if you have a headache, take a lime, cut
it in half and rub a lime on your forehead.
Speaker 2 (03:11):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (03:12):
I do love that, And then do I lick salt
uf my husband's bag, take a.
Speaker 2 (03:16):
Shot The llen k Morning show on coast one o
three point five. It's the llen K Morning Show. Thank
you Ellen K.
Speaker 6 (03:23):
Just real quick, a little kiss on you.
Speaker 9 (03:25):
Well, thank you so much for making my day.
Speaker 2 (03:27):
Host one oh three point five.
Speaker 5 (03:28):
Well, we've been learning a lot about traditional methods of
treating our bodies to make them feel better.
Speaker 1 (03:37):
It started with your happiness hack, Ryan.
Speaker 7 (03:40):
Yeah, it's when you have a headache, A cut a liman,
cut a lime in half and just rub the rub
the wet part of the lime all over your forehead
to stop the throbber.
Speaker 2 (03:50):
Okays, the great bar trick too. If you're having margarita.
Speaker 5 (03:53):
This week, Yeah, in case you get a headache, just
rub that lime.
Speaker 1 (03:57):
And then, Darlene, we.
Speaker 5 (03:58):
Learned from you that your grandmother would roast tomatoes and
put them in her socks at night to relieve symptoms
of a cold.
Speaker 2 (04:06):
Yes, still does it till this day.
Speaker 5 (04:08):
Till this day? Oh wow, So thank you so much
for your calls. Pam, what do you want to share?
Speaker 9 (04:16):
My mom told me as growing up, never tell a
dream until you've had your breakfast. Oh why she said
it would be bad luck, and I took the steak.
Cannot tell a dream until I've had my breakfast.
Speaker 3 (04:31):
I'm sorry now, Pam.
Speaker 7 (04:33):
Could it be that it was just really early and
your mom didn't want to hear any talking at the table?
Speaker 9 (04:37):
You guys, thinking back, you're probably right. Another funny thing
she always said is don't ever eat a tuna sandwich
in a restaurant. And to this day I have a
hard time eating a tuna sandwich in a restaurant.
Speaker 3 (04:50):
More like a matter of preference than a superstition.
Speaker 9 (04:55):
Pam, thank you, Thanks both of you.

all people. What do you think it is? Find out?

One oh three point five.
Speaker 1 (07:06):
Well, it is the number one hobby of all people.
What you think is I would say jogging?
Speaker 3 (07:12):
Oh yeah, I was going to say exercise, use.
Speaker 2 (07:13):
Exercise, no way, opposite watching TV?
Speaker 1 (07:17):
Okay, maybe binging? Sure, Well it is not any of those.
It's cooking.
Speaker 5 (07:23):
So the number one hobby of all people, and this
is a global study, is cooking.
Speaker 1 (07:28):
It's it's gotten so so so so popular, I think
because of social media.
Speaker 5 (07:33):
And I really need to find someone to take my
mom's recipe box and make it into an Instagram. My
dad that was his dying wish. Like literally he said
to me, I'm only going to save this once. I
want you to take these recipes of your mama. Eileen
and make an Instagram and you can do it any
style you want. Maybe demonstrate some of them, just post others,
(07:53):
get pictures, have other people contribute. But cooking, I just
feel like it's a lot more popular. Ryan, and your
best friend is a barbecue master.
Speaker 7 (08:02):
He's a Yeah, he's a pitmaster. Eddie Gonzalez chefs for
a living and he's darn good at it.
Speaker 1 (08:08):
Yeah, he really is.
Speaker 5 (08:09):

cooking too, so.

George, thank you for coming to therapy Thursday. Something's on
your mind and we have the perfect person for you,
meet our therapist Sarah.
Speaker 8 (09:15):
Hey, George, how are you.
Speaker 6 (09:17):
Hi, Sarah, I'm doing well. Thank you so much for
taking the time to take this call. I always really
love this segment, so I feel honored to get a
chance to speak with you.
Speaker 8 (09:28):
Well, I'm so happy that I get to speak with you.
Speaker 1 (09:30):
So what's going on, George.
Speaker 6 (09:32):
Well, you know, I've honestly just been a little down
the last couple, you know, weeks.
Speaker 2 (09:38):
Here.
Speaker 6 (09:39):
I kind of feel like I'm watching a lot of
my friends move on to the next stages of their lives,
and I'm watching things kind of go by. Having a
little bit of hard time with holding down a job
right now, and I feel like even my friends are
(09:59):
struggling to I want to spend time with me because
I'm maybe the Debbie Downer of the group a little
bit right now. So it's just been you know, tough
kind of alone with your own thoughts as well. So
it's nice to feel like I have somebody to talk
to with you right now.
Speaker 8 (10:17):
George, tell me what is going on with the job.
Speaker 6 (10:20):
Well, you know, I think right now it's just hard
to keep a job, I guess struggling to find something
I'm passionate about, so kind of bringing my full self
to a job is tough because I'm maybe not in
a job long enough to really start to feel driven.
Speaker 5 (10:40):
I have an observation, just as outside outsider and a
non therapist. Are you feeling low? Could it be something
physical and mental? Or are you depressed? Did something happen?
Speaker 6 (10:54):
You know, I do think it could be a big
physical thing as well. Just you know, I'm a little
bit of a homebody. It's hard to because I'm so
sad want to get up and do anything. So it's
like a double double you know, thing going on there.
Speaker 7 (11:12):
Hey, George, can you tell us share with with Sarah,
with Ellen and the audience, what is one thing that
does make you happy? Like when was the last time
you felt really good inside?
Speaker 3 (11:21):
And what were you.
Speaker 6 (11:22):
Doing cooking working with food and actually being able to
be creative with foods where I'm happy is okay?
Speaker 7 (11:30):
Can you start small, George, even small, like let's just
say you're making mac and cheese. Can you find a
way to dress it up and do something that, even
just for a second, sparks that creativity.
Speaker 3 (11:40):
It might lead to more.
Speaker 6 (11:41):
Absolutely, you know I definitely can do that.
Speaker 8 (11:44):
You know you mentioned that you know that you do
have friends, you have a friend group, and I think,
just to piggyback on to what Ryan and Ellen were saying,
maybe you could start by doing weekly dinners for them.
Speaker 1 (11:55):
Oh, great idea.
Speaker 6 (11:57):
Love it. Wow, this is super helpful. I honestly it
makes me want to go to the farmer's market this week.
Speaker 3 (12:04):
So we're just Saturday supper club.
Speaker 2 (12:08):
George.
Speaker 6 (12:09):
I'm excited, and I like having some first steps to
take because sometimes I feel like I just don't know
where to start, and so I don't start it all.
Speaker 8 (12:17):
Move towards your creativity, move toward it.
Speaker 6 (12:21):
That's perfect. Thank you so much.
Speaker 2 (12:24):
Coast one O three point five. Wake up with Ellen K.
Speaker 6 (12:27):

Speaker 5 (12:35):

and we bought your dog, Otis Mariachi.
Speaker 3 (12:44):
No dog has ever enjoyed wearing a Halloween costume. One dog, ever.
Speaker 5 (12:48):
Otis looks so cute and everything. Anyway, it's Halloween time.
We asked you to call caller twenty. It's a four
pack and you when congrats?
Speaker 2 (12:59):
What's your name, Lou, I'm Robert.
Speaker 1 (13:01):
Oh, way to go.
Speaker 5 (13:02):
Ryan says that no dog enjoys Halloween costumes. I beg
the different, What do you feel?
Speaker 9 (13:07):
Uh? Probably not.
Speaker 2 (13:10):
I disagree. I think they do.
Speaker 1 (13:11):
They get a lot of attention.
Speaker 3 (13:13):
They don't care.
Speaker 1 (13:14):
Okay, all right, what do you have to say for yourself?
Speaker 6 (13:16):
Right?
Speaker 3 (13:18):
Enjoy Halloween time?
Speaker 6 (13:20):
Thank you?
Speaker 2 (13:21):

my eyes to John Cena.
Speaker 1 (13:39):
You're such a wrestling fan.
Speaker 5 (13:41):
I've I've always kind of dabbled just see them in
the press, but not I've never really immersed you.
Speaker 7 (13:49):
Don't follow like the intricate storylines, you know, kind of
the big players.
Speaker 1 (13:52):
All right, John Cena does the wave in front of
his face.
Speaker 3 (13:55):
I see you, you can't see me. You're close.
Speaker 2 (13:59):
I'm so close, very close.
Speaker 6 (14:00):
All right.
Speaker 5 (14:01):
Well, I love him because my first car was a
Matchbox toy car, and my brothers and I used to
go out in the backyard and we would make dirt
tracks around this big old oak tree that was in
our backyard, and.
Speaker 1 (14:15):
We would make dirt tracks and we would we would.
Speaker 5 (14:18):
Take our match boxes all around these tracks. We wouldn't
even race them, and so we just had Matchbox Village,
and then we would just leave it there. When the
cars got really dirty and dusty, we'd put him in
the bathtub with us when we'd take our baths, and
then we'd have our clean cars.
Speaker 7 (14:33):
This is like in the second week, the second time
I've heard you talk about bathing with toysha dog for
a bath.
Speaker 1 (14:38):
That's right, Yeah, I guess so. And now I see
this headline.
Speaker 5 (14:43):
John Cena starre on Matchbox based on the Metel Car
toy line. Nice, it's gonna be a live action feature.
Speaker 1 (14:49):
I just I don't know.
Speaker 5 (14:50):
I love that it's nostalgic, and I think a lot
of nostalgia's coming back.
Speaker 1 (14:55):
As a matter of fact, Josh Gadd was.
Speaker 5 (14:56):
Talking about Frozen and how the new Frozen movies are
un believable.

is going to be unbelievable. I'm so excited about what

details about Shawn Ditty Combs and it's really disturbing. But really, Ryan,
you found something online and I haven't seen or heard
this anywhere. Uh, and you even printed it for us.
And this is the prison menu.
Speaker 7 (16:18):
Yep, from the Federal Bureau of Prisons, the national high
rise menu for the year of twenty twenty five. And
this is it repeats weekly. So where he's at right
now in Manhattan today, for example, a breakfast includes fruit, cereal,
breakfast cake, lunch coming up because there are a couple
of hours you could be right around now. Baked chicken
(16:40):
and pinto beans, steamed rice, green beans for lunch, and
then tonight's dinner for Diddy beef and broccoli with lentils,
and a sight of whole wheat bread.
Speaker 5 (16:50):
I had not seen or heard that anywhere, yep. And
he had the key to the City of New York
a year ago. And now the prosecutor said, doesn't matter
who you are, You're treat everyone the same when you
