Speaker 1 (00:00):
And thank you for having us sound getting up with
us here and the only K Morning show. It's Coast
one A three point five.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
I'm elle, good morning, I'm Ryan manow Social Queen Darling.

Speaker 3 (00:09):
Good morning. I'm producer Mike rommos.

Speaker 1 (00:10):
Let us surround you with cash. Cash on Coast is
just ahead a first one of the day. It's just
like at the end of a hot day, maybe you've
been playing pick up basketball and then you crack open
that cold beer. That's what Cash on Coast is, that

(00:31):
first hot cup of coffee in the morning.

Speaker 4 (00:33):
That crispy Coca Cola ooh.

Speaker 1 (00:35):
Yeah, and we've got it for you coming up.

Speaker 5 (00:38):
All right.

Speaker 1 (00:39):
The Dodgers, So I'm watching. Who are these announcers?

Speaker 2 (00:42):
Oh?

Speaker 6 (00:43):
Well, one is Joe Davis, who's the Dodgers regular announcer,
and then during the postseason he moves on to do
the NL series, and then John Smoltz Hall of Fame,
Braves Pitcher.

Speaker 1 (00:53):
Okay, all right, so it must have been that guy.

Speaker 7 (00:56):
What you do?

Speaker 1 (00:57):
How do they pick? How do they pick?

Speaker 6 (00:59):
Well, I mean, one, you have to have a good
play by play, like Joe Davis, who I yeah, I
love the game, right, But then they always find like
a former player to be the color as an animal.

Speaker 1 (01:09):
Also, like, I think it's not fair. I love Joe Davis,
but is it fair to have a team announcer b
and now, I just don't think they should do that.
They should do former players. Sure, I see what you're
saying with no bias.

Speaker 6 (01:24):
So I'm guessing you didn't like John Smoltz, and I
think I know why.

Speaker 1 (01:28):
He was predicting pitches. He's like, is there such thing
as a dirt pitch?

Speaker 8 (01:32):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (01:33):
Okay, so he's like, this dirt pitch is turned it
into a slider, and I'm gonna tell you he's going
to miss it. He's telling us before the I don't
care who the player is. He's speculating.

Speaker 6 (01:44):
Well, that's their point.

Speaker 2 (01:46):
They're an analyst, Ellen, That's why they're there.

Speaker 1 (01:48):
But do analysts are you supposed to predict? Like me,
as a viewer at home, I don't want you to
predict what's going to happen. I want to see the
magic of what happened. Fins.

Speaker 6 (02:00):
I hear you, but and you know you're not alone.
It's the same reason a lot of people don't like
Tony Romo because when he does football, he'll be like, Oh, hey,
they're going to run a blah blah blah blah blah.

Speaker 1 (02:09):
Yeah I don't want I don't want that. Yeah, I
didn't want this. I was watching it alone. My husband
was watching it with friends somewhere else, and I was, so,
I'm at home. Yeah, he's like at a business meeting
watching the Dodger game thing. And I was there and
I just kept hearing this guy trying to predict everything,
and I was like, this is not this isn't right.

(02:29):
Is this normal?

Speaker 2 (02:30):
It is normal. That's what they do, and that's why
they're paid.

Speaker 1 (02:33):
I but I've never noticed it to this level, is
what I said.

Speaker 6 (02:36):
But I think I think what compounds that was the
fact that the game wasn't going in our favor.

Speaker 1 (02:42):
No, I think you were.

Speaker 2 (02:43):
No, I think you were frustrated and he was ticking
you off.

Speaker 1 (02:46):
I now I think I think that I just didn't
like him. I just don't know about this guy. And
and when so he announced what like when we won
the game, I didn't notice him at all.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
See, And that's my point. You were in a good
move last night.

Speaker 1 (03:02):
I thinks, Kellen.

Speaker 4 (03:03):
I think you and I are raging with jealousy, right, now.

Speaker 1 (03:06):
You're mad, so it's amplified. All right, Well we're gonna
give you cash on Coast coming up and also Lisa Marie.
Something weird happening there, ELLENK.

Speaker 7 (03:16):

Speaker 9 (03:38):
Coast one O three point five. Inside Entertainment with Ellen K.

Speaker 7 (03:41):
All right.

Speaker 1 (03:41):
Kerry Underwood apparently made a million dollars every time the
theme song from NBC Sunday Night Football played last season,
and she said she records the whole season all at once,
so that's a lot to bank there. Lisa Marie Presley
kept her son Benjamin's body at her house for two
months after he passed. He took his own life. She
all said. A tattoo artist come over to see the

(04:02):
body so she and her daughter Riley Ko could get
matching tattoos. She said it was a way for her
to handle her grief. She didn't want to keep him
out a morgue. She kept him in a fifty five
degree room and on dry ice. She wrote about her
grief in her memoir From Here to the Great Unknown.
Benjamin's older sister is Riley Keo. She finished the book
after their mom died last year from an obstructive bowel,

(04:25):
and Riley Keo wrote, my mom met my brother in
the house with us, instead of keeping it the morte.
It was important for her to have ample time to
say goodbye, and I would also go and sit with him.
So that was just something that helped them. Everyone grieves differently,
so I don't want to judge at all, but it's
just that now we all know that. I just feel

(04:46):
like that's a really private thing.

Speaker 4 (04:48):
And it was their home in Calabasis. I heard California
is okay with that?

Speaker 1 (04:53):
Oh okay, so there's no law, okay, all right. King
Charles shrieked when he's he saw something for the first time,
according to a royal book, So as an adult, he's
with Camilla. They walk into the kitchen after dinner and
he saw it, Saranra. He'd never seen him before in

(05:13):
his life, and he shrieked and trembled and said, what
is that? Why is that on our food? How strange
is that? You guys? He was seventy five when he
discovered saran wrap. It's all in the Royal I mean.

Speaker 6 (05:29):
I'm sure he's never used it and done it himself,
but he's had to have seen it.

Speaker 2 (05:32):
He didn't see.

Speaker 1 (05:34):
It, He shrieked and troubled. He had never seen it.
Bearing the worst. Camilla dashed in after him. What is this,
asked Charles, pointing at the food. It's clingfilm Darling.

Speaker 2 (05:47):
Oh okay, at least she knew christis averted.

Speaker 1 (05:55):
Oh my gosh. All right. Garth Brooks a friend of ours.
I he's been accused of horrible things by a makeup
artist and he is now suing this person. He's, I
guess released her name to the public.

Speaker 6 (06:08):
Yeah, so he's filed a countersuit providing proof that once
in July and then once in August of this year,
she sent him direct letters demanding multimillions of dollars to
not file the suit. So he's now filed a suit
against her, naming her in the courts. So he's not
backing down.

Speaker 1 (06:24):
Yeah, it's ugly.

Speaker 7 (06:25):
Well.

Speaker 1 (06:26):
He addressed the assault lawsuit against him on his live
stream inside Studio G for Garth.

Speaker 4 (06:33):
It's going to happen, and people are telling me it
could be up to two years.

Speaker 7 (06:36):
Okay, so my suggestion.

Speaker 5 (06:38):
Is we'll take a deep breath, we'll all just kind
of settle in and let's hold hands and take the
trip together.

Speaker 1 (06:45):
Okay, that's the elephant in the room. I'm glad that
he addressed it. Yeah, and like you said, it could
take two years. You could get cash on Coast instantly.
Just go online Coast one of three five dot com

moved into our house. So they break up, they make
up whatever.

Speaker 10 (08:53):

Speaker 1 (08:55):
Like her handyman.

Speaker 2 (08:56):
Yeah. Yeah, he was there to fix the sink and
they just started dating.

Speaker 1 (09:00):
Yeah, so the kids live with her now. I was
just thinking about that as we were listening to Toxic
and the opposite of toxic is I think is happiness.
That's right, so your happiness hack.

Speaker 6 (09:11):
New research has found something very simple that can boost
all of our good things, manage.

Speaker 2 (09:17):
Stress, well being, health effects.

Speaker 6 (09:19):
It's humming. Ah, the simple act of humming. It produces
vibrations that stimulate our vegas nerve Remember we talked about
the ves vegas a while back. So it's almost like
think of it as like an internal swaddle weight.

Speaker 4 (09:36):
It is soothing and if you think about it, Baby's
hum my daughter that has like very high sensory needs.

Speaker 1 (09:41):
She hums a lot. Yeah, you know this explains a
lot about my mama, Eileen. My husband Rory would call
her optimistic Eileen. She was constantly humming songs and things right.

Speaker 6 (09:52):
And I track my sleep with a sleep app. Some
nights or mornings I wake up and I hear overnight.
I would just randomly in my sleep go, it's like
self soothing.

Speaker 1 (10:03):
I don't know if that's a hum well, I don't
know what it is, but we won't go into that.

Speaker 7 (10:09):
No.

Speaker 6 (10:10):
So ideally, we find ourselves a comfy position, be it
a bed, maybe leaning against the wall, a comfortable chair.
We close our eyes, We inhale deeply through our nose Okay, okay,
that wasn't a deep inhale, a very shallow inhale.

Speaker 2 (10:28):
You want a breath over there? What's going on as
you exhale? Do it with a hum thinking.

Speaker 6 (10:37):
Like more like a monk, you know, like a like
a vibration, vibrating, Feel that vibration. So this is going
to reduce your stress. This is going to prove your
heart health. This is going to enhance your focus.

Speaker 1 (11:22):
Stories, top of the hour, Good morning of Ellen Kine.
We are staying on stormwatch with our friends in Florida
this morning. Hurricane Milton has restrengthened and we'll land probably
directly on Tampa tonight. A handful of brazen residents are
staying put, almost defiant to the warnings by federal officials.

Speaker 2 (11:40):
Fortunately, I don't have a lot of expectations at this point.

Speaker 3 (11:42):
I'm one that I don't.

Speaker 1 (11:43):
Rely that much on the federal government, don't want to,
don't don't trust that they're going to do what we
need them to do.

Speaker 6 (11:50):
Has been no response though outreach really on what's going
out of what to expect.

Speaker 1 (11:55):
Oh wow, officials are a warning residence again in the
path to leave in me idiately, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
got out of Dodge last night. They are riding it
out to New Orleans, where they'll face the Saints on Sunday.
Several female USC students say they've contacted police because a
man continues to peek through their window at night. It's
happening repeatedly five times. The most recent event happened this

(12:16):
morning just after midnight. Was caught on ring cam, but
by the time police arrived, that person was already gone.
During one of the earlier episodes, the guy broke into
the home but fled when he heard commotion. The LAPD
showed up said there was quote no evidence of a burglary,
so they didn't take a report. Thirteen girls lived there,
So I'm just saying the police are on that right now.

(12:36):
In case you missed it, this nugget dropped yesterday. The
price of a Mega Million's ticket will more than double

She is Ellen.

Speaker 2 (15:15):
All right.

Speaker 1 (15:16):
This one's from a guy named Manny, and it's about money.
Manny and the money, Mo money, no problems. Dear Ellen,
I am in a tough situation with my family. About
a year ago, I loaned a significant amount of money
to my brother to help him through a hard time.
We never set a timeline for a repayment. I assumed

(15:39):
he'd prioritize paying me back when he could, But since
then he's made no effort to repay the debt, and
while I've gently brought it up, he either avoids the
conversation or makes vague promises. What's worse is that my
other sibling, who was aware of the loan, has grown
so stressed over the situations, affecting their mental health so
badly they've started seeing a therapist to deal with the stream.

(16:00):
This issue is caused within the family. I never intended
for the money to tear my family apart, but I
feel like the loan has become a source of constant tension.
Should I continue confronting my brother or let this be
Thanks for reading my letter, Manny. That is a tough situation.

(16:21):
It's a family situation, and I feel like, I don't know,
I just feel like family is so much more important.
I know he's had a significant amount of money, but
if it's.

Speaker 4 (16:34):
My dad, because this has happened before, my dad is
sending weekly reminders, don't forget a payday's coming up.

Speaker 6 (16:45):
Yeah, I think they're both wrong, the brother and Manny.
Manny messed up not setting a plan a timeline, right,
that's his mistake. No good deed goes unpunished. While he
did the right thing, he should have also come at
this with a little more.

Speaker 2 (17:00):
You know, structure. Structure.

Speaker 6 (17:01):
Yeah, it's good. And then this brother is just irresponsible
and it's rude.

Speaker 2 (17:05):
Yeah, it's just rude.

Speaker 1 (17:06):
Yeah. And also especially for when Manny brings it up,
the brother shirks it off yep or makes vague promises.
They really do need a family meeting and they need
to sit down and say look this thing. You know,
I loaned you money out of the goodness on my
heart to help you through a rough time. And this
is turned into a horrible family dynamic and we need

(17:29):
to change the energy, like this is not we can't
go on like.

Speaker 6 (17:32):
This or and I hate to say this, at some point,
Manny might just have to kiss a goodbye and just
go Okay, that's a loss.

Speaker 2 (17:39):
I'll take the bathroom.

Speaker 1 (17:40):
Yes, definitely, I think. I don't think the brother's going
to pay doesn't sound like it. Yeah, And then the
poor other sibling, aware of the loan, is so stressed
out because of the strain on the family. It's just
it's you know what, It's just they say when when
people win the lottery, it destroys their lives, and so
money can really twist things. So what do you think. Okay,

(18:03):
so Manny needs some help, what does he do? It's
eight hundred and ninety two nine kost Stick with us,

Post one O three point five top Stories, Top of
the Hour, Good Morning of ellen k. More than a
dozen states and the District of Columbia took TikTok to court,
alleging that the social media app harms the mental health
of children. The lawsuits call out features that are supposedly
designed to make the short form video platform addictive to kids,
such as endless scroll, buzzer style push notifications, and appearance filters.

(22:53):
The attorney's general argue these features negatively impact sleep and
fuel mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety, and body dysmorphia.
The lawsuits come as TikTok seeks to overturn a law
requiring it to be sold to a non Chinese entity
or cease US operations. And a remarkable story here from
twenty thousand feet above sea level, an American climber was

just rescued in the Himalayas after being stranded for three days.
Michelle Devorak was trying to climb a mountain in northern
India over the weekend when a rock fall caused her
to drop a bag which contained most of her equipment.
Can you imagine Michelle sent on SOS on her phone,
but it died five minutes later. Remarkably, the Indian Air
Force located her eighty hours later and made that daring

mountain air rescue. Everybody's safe and Scarlett Johansson tops McAfee's
annual celebrity hacker hot list. She's followed by Kylie Jenner,
Taylor Swift, and Anya Taylor Joy, who have also had
their name and likeness used for scams. This is Scarlett's

of that awful list and fall like tempts. And we

Speaker 2 (24:24):
I have seen a thing or two. Pase, guys, you're
maligning me.

Speaker 1 (24:30):
We have done nothing. We can't malign someone who's maligning
them anyway. Yes, your letters to Ellen, we read them
every Wednesday. Thank you so much for writing to us.
Go to Coast one O three five dot com click

(24:54):
I'm in a tough situation with my family. About a
year ago or so, I loaned a significant of money
to my brother to help him through a hard time.
We never set a timeline for a repayment. I just
assumed he'd priorities paying me back when he could. Since then,
he's made no effort to repay the debt, never brings
it up, and while I have brought it up, he

(25:16):
either avoids the conversation or makes vague promises. What's worse
is that my other sibling, who's aware of the loan,
is so stressed over the situation they've started seeing a
therapist to deal with the strain the issues caused within
the family. I never intended for the money to tear
my family apart, but the loan has become a source
of constant tension. Should I confront my brother directly or

(25:37):
let it go? Thanks for reading my letter, Manny oh boy,
So it has that ripple effect. He thought it was
between him and the brother, but now the other sibling
is in therapy because there's so much tension and strain
and we're getting so many calls that when it comes
to family or loaning money, things can go sideways quick. Yep, Mike,

(26:02):
you can relate.

Speaker 3 (26:04):
It's funny because I have a younger brother that gave
me this device, and he told me, like, you just
have to let it go, and there was no plan
or anything like that. You know. My example is I
gave a family member like six thousand dollars. It's been probably,
i'm guessing over twenty years. We never had a plan.
I just expected them to pay me back. But he
got tiring, you know, it got mentally tired and just

(26:25):
having a bug and bug and bug them. So it's
just you let it go and you get so much
relief out of it. That way, you don't have to
code a therapy because you're having problems over money issues.

Speaker 1 (26:33):
Yeah, you know, it's great advice, just let it go.
I have a friend who gave her sister four thousand
dollars for puppy surgery to save the dog, the family dog,
and just gave her the money and they that's been
three years and so she just said, you know what,
I feel good because I saved your puppy's life. You

(26:55):
know whatever.

Speaker 3 (26:56):
Yeah, you have too, kept the thing. I was like,
you did something good. I don't expect money to get
ever paid back. So anytime you give somebody money, don't
expect to be paid back, and just know that you
did a good thing and have to let it go.
Whether it's five thousand dollars, five hundred thousand and fifty thousand,
whatever the amount is. You it was your choice to
give them the money. So that's the thing. You learn

(27:17):
from that and just go, hey, you know it's probably
not going to get paid back. If it does, then fine,
If not, you have other more important things to do.

Speaker 1 (27:24):
Yeah, good one, Mike, thank you, no worries.

Speaker 3 (27:28):
Have a good one, you too.

Speaker 1 (27:29):

is this is going the wrong way. So any advice

We listened to you every morning. We implore you post

Speaker 1 (29:03):
There are so many songs about money, right, I mean really,
when you think about it, if you just google songs
about money, most of them are brought money problems, not
just money, money, money, money, money, and that is the
problem for Manny. Thank you so much for responding to

(29:23):
Manny's letter and for all your talkbacks and your phone
calls to help out Manny because so many have experienced
what he's going through. He loaned a significant amount of
money to his brother to help him through a hard time,
and now there's just an awkward tension in the family.
One of the siblings is in therapy because of it,

(29:45):
and this brother hasn't even discussed it. He doesn't want
to discuss that, he changes the subject.

Speaker 6 (29:53):
Do you think, deep down, though, when you're loaning money
to somebody like that, like you, it's your brother, you
know their behavior probably pretty well. Do you think you
know in the back of your head or suspect maybe
I'm probably not gonna.

Speaker 1 (30:05):
You're never going to see someone you grew up with. Definitely, yeah,
for sure. Uh So, Manny just wanted to know what
to do. Does he confront the brother directly because it's
been really vague or let it go. Rebecca, you have
your thoughts. Thank you for Colin. What do you think I'll.

Speaker 8 (30:25):
Tell you this someone who told me something before, and
I kind of take that, you know, as advice, and
carry that with me. Don't loan money, I mean, be
willing to take. I guess if they don't pay it back,
be willing to accept that family family. I think they

(30:47):
take it as a lesson. Don't want any money. Yeah,
they were very little that you would be willing to lose.

Speaker 6 (30:55):
Right, less of a loan and just kind of more
of a gift.

Speaker 1 (31:00):
Yeah, write it off.

Speaker 8 (31:02):
I don't move forward. Yeah, we don't loan the more
than like a hundred because I will be what I'd
be willing to do.

Speaker 1 (31:10):
Okay, Okay, that's that's also good, Like don't loan what
you're not comfortable losing exactly. Okay, well, Rebecca, that's good,
like look at it as a gift. It's just but
this was significant. It was a lot of money. He
didn't say how much. I'm thinking four to five figures.

Speaker 2 (31:28):
Oh, four to five figures he says. It says, yeah,
four figures five.

Speaker 1 (31:34):
You don't think five that's a lot to lend somebody
about here. I loaned a significant amount of money. Yet
probably I wish we knew. I know same, It doesn't matter.
What does matter is that the family is, you know,
getting torn apart over it. So thank you for all
your calls keeping coming at eight hundred ninety nine kost.

Speaker 2 (31:54):
Since you've been going like man's money.

Speaker 1 (31:56):

the announcer that one John Smoltz.

Speaker 6 (32:30):
Ellen doesn't care that for John Smoltz predicting what pitches
are coming, and she doesn't.

Speaker 1 (32:35):
I don't want to know, Yeah, I don't want to know.

Speaker 4 (32:37):
Sure, And if you're playing me keep it on a
low and also to the San Diego fans learn how
to twirl a towel.

Speaker 1 (32:44):
No kidding. You know when they twirl towels, it looks
like free Doo's in the air. It does, they don't
What is that? Why is it so awkward looking?

Speaker 2 (32:53):
Plus and I'm going to pile on here the brown
and yellow. Who came up with that?

Speaker 1 (32:58):
Well that is the pot and Padways traditionally wore brown.

Speaker 6 (33:03):
Well that's traditionally because that is it's hard on the
eyes for about two hours.

Speaker 2 (33:07):
That stinks.

Speaker 1 (33:33):

Keys says this about curves. I'm not ashamed of what
I am and that I have curves and that I'm thick.
I love my body, all right, Alicia Keys, We love you,
