Speaker 10 (06:05):
You know what, I'm glad I can't see. I'm totally blind,
and go figure. Yes, if whatever happens happens, and we
can't change it. And the thing is, God gives us
all challenges. We may think they're problems, but their challenges
because He wants to see how we're going to handle it.
Speaker 1 (06:27):
Oh my gosh, that is so true, Patricia. What's your
strongest sense? You can't see, But what is your strongest sense?
Speaker 10 (06:37):
I can hear quite a distance. In fact, I kept
my father, my birth father, out of an accident because
I forced him to pull over. It was we were
going up the hill and there were all of us
in the car, the whole family, and he wouldn't pull over,
and I told him, you better pull over to hips
(06:57):
fan and you ain't going to be alive. And he
got mad at me. He got mad at me. But
if two fire engines were coming up and over the
hill and he had just enough time to pull in. Wow, yeah,
And they said, and they said, how did you hear that?
Speaker 12 (07:16):
I just wanted to say thanks for everything you guys do.
It means the world because the way you just all
of you describe things. And I love the way Ryan
starts stuff and he starts laughing in the middle of
it sometimes, and it means a lot to me. It
means a lot because I feel like I'm a part
(07:36):
of you, guys. Patricia, just do me one favor and
please be careful on the roads and have a blessed
holiday season.

because I know you got to get back to work.

Grinded.
Speaker 13 (08:19):
That good?
Speaker 8 (08:21):
All right.
Speaker 1 (08:22):
It's the number one tippy top reason men and women
do not understand each other. So what do you think
that is? It's the top reason. And the answer is
because women need details. Men are vague. Okay do you
know why men are vague?
Speaker 4 (08:41):
Because I don't know.
Speaker 6 (08:42):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (08:43):
But see they don't want to be bothered. Oh you
guys just don't want to talk. Yeah, like someone you know,
my husband might say, oh yeah, we're not going to
have dinner with so and so tonight because not feeling well.
I would say, well, what is it? What's wrong with
them and my husband? I don't know.
Speaker 8 (08:59):
I do not.
Speaker 1 (09:00):
It drives me crazy. Yeah, but why would you ask?
Speaker 4 (09:02):
It's none of your business? Well no, it's gon a
mind to ask, and it's especially none of yours.
Speaker 1 (09:07):
But I'm just saying, like woodn't isn't it just natural
to ask? The next question for a woman? There you
go be calling twenty right now, eight hundred and ninety
two nine kost Why do we need to call that number? Ryan?
I don't know. Jeez, you're the worst deck in the halls.
Speaker 5 (09:27):
But feel good.
Speaker 6 (09:29):
The Ellens The Morning Show continues next past one oh
three point five.
Speaker 1 (09:33):

of Ninety five percent of all of our calls yesterday

for calling, Joel, what about you?
Speaker 14 (09:46):
Oh well, it sucks, I'll tell you. I'll be Honest's
kind of horrible. But we don't get no incentive. We
get no holidays, pay a bonus. Matter of fact, they
tell us to come in the day after Christmas. I
work a full eleven hour shift.
Speaker 1 (10:02):
Oh my gosh. And do you get overtime?
Speaker 11 (10:06):
No overtime?
Speaker 14 (10:07):
No, they can't. They don't want to give us overtime
because they don't want to pay us a lot.
Speaker 1 (10:11):
It's called an overtime. Can we ask what you do us?
Speaker 2 (10:18):
Yeah?
Speaker 14 (10:19):
I work for a rental company. I'm pretty sure I've
heard of it.
Speaker 1 (10:22):
Yeah, all right, Well, we're so sorry about that. Could
you find another job maybe? Or are you are you
pretty much embedded? Are you digging in?
Speaker 5 (10:32):
Yeah?
Speaker 14 (10:33):
Exactly. I've accepted the fact that this is just my demises,
my doom, right, Like, this is life and I just
had to work like a dog, that's it.
Speaker 1 (10:42):
Oh well, there are always options to find happiness.
Speaker 14 (10:47):
There are options that you know what. I'm just trying
to keep that holiday spirit. You know, it's Christmas time.
I'm like, you know what, let's just at least for
one day, I get it off and I'm able to
just actually sleep in, you know. And yeah, because I
can't even need at work, I can't even eat. I'm
just just work and work and work and work, and
I can't even eat.
Speaker 4 (11:06):

that excuse?
Speaker 4 (14:47):
Gosh, I really am not much of an excuse maker,
and I hate to admit this.
Speaker 1 (14:54):
I will probably more.
Speaker 4 (14:56):
I'm probably more likely to just not respond or just
oh ghost, either ghost or just a random so sorry,
I can't make it.
Speaker 1 (15:03):
Uh huh don't.
Speaker 4 (15:04):
I don't want to go to I feel like the
more you explain, yeah, the worst it becomes.
Speaker 1 (15:09):
I think it's a sign of guilt. Yeah, and.
Speaker 4 (15:13):
Plus, look, looks, let's be honest, I'll go on any
date right now.
Speaker 1 (15:19):
I'm not trying to make no excuse.
Speaker 4 (15:20):
I'm trying to find one.
Speaker 1 (15:23):
Let's get to Amanda. We're talking about bad excuses when
you don't want a date, or when you get dumped,
or when you're dumping someone.
Speaker 17 (15:31):
What happened to you, hi Ellen?
Speaker 15 (15:34):
I was dating someone who I think it was like
five years older than me, and when we broke up,
he said it was because anytime he talked about like
a movie or a TV show, I didn't know what
he was talking about. Yeah, we didn't have enough in.
Speaker 1 (15:49):
Common generation gap, But five years isn't that really that long?
Maybe it was like the high school experience or when
you're in elementary school. The movies and TV shows that
he liked you didn't know about.
Speaker 15 (16:03):
Right, And I'm like, you could just show be the movie,
but okay, yeah.
Speaker 1 (16:07):
Right, Like why not share it with you and tell me,
like why it makes you feel good?
Speaker 17 (16:13):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (16:14):
Exactly what else was going on there? Because I do
feel like that's a bit of a cop out, Like
were you did you feel.
Speaker 1 (16:21):
Like you guys were meant to be?
Speaker 15 (16:23):
I didn't, and I did feel like the relationship was
starting to go down the hill. I think just like
our schedules were off, and he was kind of in
a bad place in his life, and I would say
not really ready to date. I was kind of already
preparing the break up with him, and he just bit
the bullet first. But I don't know that was his reason.
Speaker 1 (16:45):
And you know, can you remember the one show that
really really broke the camel's back? Was it like Seinfeld
or what was it?
Speaker 15 (16:55):
I think it was the Gremlins movie.
Speaker 7 (16:57):
Okay, Oh, yeah, I'm really.
Speaker 15 (16:59):
Upset that I I didn't know what it was.
Speaker 1 (17:01):
Yeah, that is a classic. Well it sounds like everyone's
better off without Yes.
Speaker 15 (17:11):
Yes, I'm happily married of six years.
Speaker 14 (17:14):
So all good.
Speaker 1 (17:18):
Well, thank you for sharing your life with us.
Speaker 3 (17:21):
Yeah, thank you, Jingle.
Speaker 5 (17:25):
Then show.
Speaker 6 (17:28):
Marry Christmas cost one three point five three point.
Speaker 1 (17:32):
Five excuses not to go on a date, to get
out of dating someone, to dump someone. Now. I have
a friend who texted me and said, one of the
worst that he ever heard was someone broke up with
someone after a bike ride because her shadow looked like
a frog. Couldn't get the image out of his mind,
Kermit the frog, so awful, awful. Then we had another
(17:57):
guy who dumped the girl because he didn't want to
date anyone who'd been divorced, right, which takes out a
huge amount of people.
Speaker 4 (18:05):
Probably more than half, at least half. Yeah, dar, what
about You've been married a long time. You've been with
your husband Alex since you guys were you guys were
high school sweethearts, so you've never really had to make
I mean, I.
Speaker 18 (18:16):
Did childish breakups in the past, but I was a kid.
Speaker 1 (18:20):
I was like a teenager, and like, how childish are
we talking?
Speaker 18 (18:24):
The meanest one?
Speaker 1 (18:26):
This guy was so nice and he was too nice.
Speaker 18 (18:30):
Oh, and I just didn't have the courage to do
it to his face because every time I saw him,
he'd give me a gift or something, and it's some
of it was very like thoughtful, extremely thoughtful, like he
would fold me these really pristine or Agami's nice different
shapes or whatever. Right, So I just I'm like, I
can't do this anymore. And I emailed him because back
(18:53):
then we didn't text, I didn't have a phone to text,
And so I emailed him a break break up to
avoid seeing him in person and doing it. And I
felt really bad. It wasn't the right thing to do.
I just told him I can't be with you anymore,
and I like all your thoughtfulness, but I would rather
(19:15):
be your friend.
Speaker 1 (19:16):
Oh okay, and it just didn't go well.
Speaker 18 (19:19):
It never was the same after that.
Speaker 1 (19:21):
Oh yeah, yeah, well you know, because he wanted something
you didn't. Yeah, well, let's get to Ryan. Ryan, So
we're talking about these bad excuses and you were the
one making it. Tell us about it.
Speaker 3 (19:36):
Yeah.
Speaker 11 (19:36):
So a couple of friends they tried to hook me
up with this girl. I went on a couple of
dates with hers. She ended up getting really kind of
serious with it, talking about marriage and stuff already. So
the next time she asked me out, I just said
I was kind of in a panic, and I said, hey,
you know, my my dog's not doing really well and
I got to take him to the hospital. He was
(19:58):
like eating. I told her that he was like eating
the rug up and stuff like that. So she got
all worried and she's like, oh, yeah, I don't worry
about it. And then so, you know, a couple of
weeks later, she's like she called me back and she's like, hey,
how's it going. I was like, oh, I was like,
I really, I really don't want to go on a
date with this girl. So I answered the phone. I
(20:18):
ended up like I acted like I was crying, and
I was like, I'm sorry. My dog he ran out
into the street and then he got hit by a car.
Long story short, a lot of tears, a lot of stuff,
and then she just was kind of give me that.
You know, look, if you really don't want to date me, uh,
you know, you could.
Speaker 1 (20:34):
Just she figured you out. Yeah, what is your your dog?
What is your dog's name? In real life? Siracha still alive,
and well.
Speaker 11 (20:46):
Yeah, yeah, he's he's about fifteen right now, and he's
a he's a he's got no teeth and he's got
he's got one of those things where the tongues hanging
out of his mouth. Everything.
Speaker 1 (20:54):
That's kind of cute. Yeah, so s Racha got you
in a whole lot. Well, you got yourself in a
whole lot once you once you started that first lie,
you just dug in.
Speaker 11 (21:03):
Well, you know, you can't. It's one of those things
like you know, you can't really stop after after a while,
and then you know, if she's gonna keep calling you back,
like I don't know, I really didn't know what to do,
and she was kind of sensitive too, so I was
kind of feeling bad that I didn't want to, you know,
hurt her feelings. But I guess it ended up part
of your feelings anyways.
Speaker 4 (21:19):
So yeah, yeah, I think aside from all the lives
your your real mistake was switching from eating the rug
to getting hit by a car that I could have
gone down more of the rug avenue. Look, he's having
bad stomach issues and.
Speaker 11 (21:32):
Yeah, well you know that actually happened. But you know,
I was like, I was trying to find something that
I could relate to.
Speaker 1 (21:39):
Yeah, something a little more fure is the real victim here.
Speaker 6 (21:45):
Yeah, it's the L and K Morning Show.
Speaker 9 (21:48):

Speaker 17 (26:37):
Okay, Well he was he was married at the time,
and I wasn't and I wasn't interested in him, and
he wasn't interested in me. And he was just telling
me his problems at work. And I was telling him,
you need to leave this lady. And I goes, she's
not good for you. And he's like, he goes, I
know I've been planning to, you know, but I have
three daughters and I don't know what to do. And
I go, your daughters are gonna get are gonna grow up,
(26:58):
they're gonna get married, and they're gonna leave of your
house and you're going to be struck with this woman.
Speaker 14 (27:02):
Oh.
Speaker 17 (27:02):
And he's like, yeah, you're right. But we just didn't
have you know, we didn't.
Speaker 2 (27:06):
Like each other.
Speaker 17 (27:07):
And then one day he invited me out for a
coffee and we went for a beer, turned out for
a beer, and the rest the rest is history.
Speaker 1 (27:15):
That was it. That was the day. It was over
that beer, over that beer, and he'd already left the wife.
Speaker 4 (27:24):
No, No, it took him about three months, but he
knew sitting across from you that he was with the
wrong person and was looking at the right way.
Speaker 2 (27:31):
Yeah, both of us.
Speaker 1 (27:33):
And do you get along with the three daughters?
Speaker 17 (27:36):
Yeah? Yeah, it took them, you know, it took him
a while to warm up to me. But right now
we're the best of friends.

Oh wow, okay, less than a week till Christmas, guys. Yes,
And Carrie Steele is next. She is a gift and
Tay is Happy National Regifting Day. So I don't know
if you ever get a gift and then you just
stick a different card on it. Did I ever tell
you what Rick Dy's did oh boy, No, no, okay.
(28:44):
I gave him a Versace tie, not his style at all,
but I loved it. It was colorful and blue and
it looked good with his eyes. And I gave it
to him for Christmas in his Versace box, like I
splurge on this thing. I think it was like two
hundred and fifty dollars for a tie. Yeah, and you know,
gave it to him, had a bow in the box,
there was no wrapping, but he opened it up, loved it,
(29:06):
puts it down. The president of ABC Radio walked in
and they had just signed Rick to a big syndication deal,
and so Rick puts the lid back on the box
and said, this is so kind of you. I got
you a gift. Oh you guys, it was a regifting
right in front of me. Had no explanation after I
(29:31):
like my jaw was dropped open. And then like a
week later, I said, did you not like the tie
or and he goes, oh no, I was just caught
off guard. They were supposed to come a different day.
So then I understood, like he needed it in a clinch.
You actually helped him out, Yeah, I did. I did
a solid I thought I did a solid but twice
but actually they backfired on me. So anyway, it's regifting
(29:55):
day and Aretha Franklin said every birthday is a gift
and every day is a gift. Celebrate gifts. Hey, team,
you're a gift.
Speaker 5 (30:03):
You are.
Speaker 1 (30:04):
Kiss on three, kiss on me three.
