So epic. It was amazing, by the way, Melan Hi.
Speaker 3 (00:35):
Ryan and Social Queen Darley Good Morning I produced Micrommos.
Speaker 1 (00:39):
Rod Stewart was the first artist to be asked to perform.
Irving as Off put the whole thing together. All these
artists dropped everything in their lives to be there. Rod
was just coming off his yacht after he celebrated his
eightieth birthday with his entire family and kids, and I
mean everyone was on that boat. And then he got
(01:00):
call from Irving. He was the first one Irving thought of.
And Irving said will you open the show? And he
said absolutely. They packed up, they came back home. He
was there for rehearsals, walkthroughs, you know everything. Rod, We
love you, love Love Love. Sting was amazing. I mean,
so many great performances. And I know we were all
texting last night. Gwen Stefani with No Doubt just brought
(01:23):
so much energy. I loved your big long blonde ponytail.
Speaker 4 (01:26):
Is it me, guys or does Gwen have a different
energy when she's with her boys? Yes?
Speaker 1 (01:30):
Yeah, right, yeah, I was thinking about that too. You
know what I think it is And any women listening
will understand this too, and you guys will also. When
she's Gwen Stefani on you know the voice, and when
she performs out yourself or with Blake, she's ladylike, very
When she's with No Doubt, she's comfortable. She's in her
(01:53):
Doc Martin yes, and her short yes, and she's in
her flannel. And I really do think that that lends
to that no doubt energy, this.
Speaker 4 (02:03):
Energy Don's mentacytop makes don't kill because of.
Speaker 1 (02:16):
Dos and don and dories till get enough one. Oh
and what about Billy with Billy?
Speaker 2 (02:31):
What a wait?
Speaker 1 (02:33):
All right? So Billy Eilish. We knew she was going
to perform, but I do believe this collaboration with Billy
Joe Armstrong was a big surprise.
Speaker 5 (02:53):
So beautiful.
Speaker 1 (02:55):
Oh, let's talk about Billy Crystal. He's the perfect guy
to be up there on stage to get things going.
Speaker 4 (03:02):
And I'd love to be said too about how he
was at MSG Madison Square Garden right after nine to
eleven and he opened the show there looking out into
the crowd and could barely speak. And he's opening this one,
and you know, I mean, what, yeah, you're right, perfect
pick being.
Speaker 1 (03:16):
In that house for forty years.
Speaker 6 (03:18):
I think he said, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 4 (03:19):
And I loved his story about the rock and how
laughter the one that he held was laughter because in
nineteen sixty three he discovered that laughter is everything. You know,
so good also shout out really quick, you know, I
loved And a lot of surprises.
Speaker 2 (03:33):
We didn't know Joe Jett was going to be there,
or this guy, doctor.
Speaker 6 (03:36):
Dree the same.
Speaker 5 (03:38):
We thank God, it's God, it's time.
Speaker 1 (04:10):
And coming up, we're gonna go inside entertainment. Blake Lively
and Ryan Reynolds are saying, hey, justin Baldoni, you need
to drop this suit. Also Billy Crystal, he's talking about him.

All right at the theaters this weekend. Dog Man, I
can't wait for this one. It's based on a really
successful book series and it's about it's animated and it's
about a police officer and his canine and they have
an accident. They go into surgery and then they beconfused.
So it's a dog and a man. This dog Man,
It's gonna be so good. It's gonna get thirty million
(05:30):
dollars in at number one. So it is starring Pete Davidson.
It's going to be fun to see you. I love
Pete Davidson. Yeah, I already hear him. I should say,
all right, Kendrick Lamar has been warned ahead of super
Bowl halftime and I cannot wait. I'm so excited. I
think I'm more excited for him than anything else. But
they say, don't be like Brehanna or anyone else in
(05:50):
the past who's been luded. They use the word lude.
Don't be luded Kendrick. They believe that on his halftime
show from two years ago, was U just Rihanna, you know,
doing things? And it was yeah, yeah it was. The
lawmakers said super Bowl half ten performances have been less
(06:13):
than family friend.
Speaker 3 (06:14):
Yeah, I don't remember the last time they were family
oriented exactly.
Speaker 1 (06:21):
Okay, So, uh it is so great fire aid La

I came twenty years ago? Right, But I start working
at this store at Sally's, and I remember they put
the songs that they played Christmas songs all the time,
all day long, right, And I didn't know until like
five years ago that I start driving and I start
listening to you. And now my kids love the stations.
(08:41):
Sometimes on purpose, I change it and they said, hey, wait,
what happened?
Speaker 1 (08:45):
Mom? Why you change the channel? You make us your preset.
In fact, we have a listener power. And this is
a challenge to you who made us all their precepts.
Speaker 8 (08:57):
And then you know what current song? When you were

It is a field good Friday. And we also have
your Happiness Hack at this time of the day every
single morning. More on fire Aid coming up. I loved
Travis Barker and Jelly Roll. There's a lot of ink
on stage. Yes, they need machine Gun Kelly in there
to play the guitar and then it would just be
all inch totally.
Speaker 4 (10:10):
By the way, really quick before we get to the heck,
Jelly Roll was disappearing before us.
Speaker 2 (10:14):
He's like half the roll.
Speaker 1 (10:16):
Well you know why I know.
Speaker 2 (10:19):
O zembic tryage dot com. All right, Ellen, alright, yes,
Social Queen Darlene. What kind of dryer sheets do you
guys used? You know the brand? Or are you do?
Speaker 1 (10:28):
Can I buy them?
Speaker 6 (10:28):
Okay, bounce all right, I don't use dryer sheets.
Speaker 1 (10:31):
No, really? Is there allergy or a reaction?
Speaker 3 (10:35):
Well, when we had the bait the last baby, I
just stopped using them.
Speaker 2 (10:39):
Oh okay, okay, Well that's good, Dar, You're on the
right track.
Speaker 1 (10:43):
Now.
Speaker 4 (10:44):
I will say, Ellen your dryer sheets and mine too,
because I use him too. I use the pet ones.
There's like they make them for pet hair y his
penny sheds. They're making our laundry worse.
Speaker 2 (10:52):
Dryer sheets.
Speaker 4 (10:53):
They coat our clothes, especially towels, in a wax. Okay,
you can't see it, you can't really feel it, but
you're used to it. The scent, I know the scent
is good, but it prevents them towels from absorbing liquid,
which is the main job of a towel. So what
can we use instead? Dark You're gonna want to try this?
Balls of aluminum foil?
Speaker 1 (11:12):
What what?
Speaker 4 (11:13):
Rip off a grip of that heavy duty foil. Make
a kind of like a tennis ball size. Throw in
two or three of those babies. Not only does it
not have those waxy chemicals, it reduces static cling. So
it's a whole thing related to what the electrons are
doing in the dryer.
Speaker 2 (11:26):
While it's running.
Speaker 1 (11:27):
It's crazy.
Speaker 4 (11:28):
So when you pull your clothes out after a foil
ball dry I promise you none of them will stick together. WHOA, yeah,
try it this weekend. Next thing, you bounce my bounce,
bounce your now. One thing you can't do, though, is
help me find the missing sock.

Chop stories top of the our or good morning, I'm
ellen kay. And the recovery continues in DC the Potomac River.
This said, despite brutal conditions in the water, fifty recovery
divers are working as we speak. Forty of these sixty
seven bodies have been recovered from the Potomac and also
both black boxes, one from the helicopter, one from the airplane.
(12:21):
More of the victims are being identified. And it's just
so sad. Fourteen members of the US figure skating community.
And we'll keep you up to the minute on everything
happening there, all right. The hottest restaurant in America is Chili's.
Chili sales at restaurants and creep about thirty percent last quarter,
putting it at the very tippy top. We love Chili's
(12:43):
and we're buying it. They say it's all down to
one item, and that's the most surrealistic. So if you
like to go and dip, you are helping them be
the hottest restaurant in America. And Sunday's Groundhog Day when
they at large rode in to Pusatani Phill will be
pulled out of a hole in Pennsylvania to give that
long term weather prediction. He's done it for one hundred
and thirty nine years, and Peta has done that for
(13:06):
the past several years. They're urging the officials at Gobbler's
Knob to lee Phil alone. They want to have that cake,
so they just want a cake. But Phil is going
to be pulled out of the shadow. No one even
replied to Peta. So Sunday is Groundhog Day. We'll see
what our future of weather looks like. We do have
another cooler day on deck to close the month. Your
last day of January, Happy birthday to you if you're celebrating,
(13:28):
like justin Timberlake, Kerrie Washington and more. But it'll be sunny.
Hi's around sixty five looking at a little nice warm
up starting tomorrow seventy by Sunday and right now it

Coast one O three point five and we are the
L and K Morning Show Coast one O three point five.
Thank you for being here with us on a feel
good Friday. We feel good this morning here and our
communities and our city for all the money being raised
for all the victims of the fire. And we all
(14:24):
know not just one or two people, we all know
so many who were displaced. So Fire Aid last night
bringing a big time. And I'm going to give you
the totals as we go. But there's Connie's Teve Bamber
matching every dollar.
Speaker 2 (14:41):
I love too.
Speaker 4 (14:41):
When they first came out and announced that you two
had just donated a million, and they cut right to
Steve and his smile He's like, I can't believe I
get to match that, you know, I mean, Christ ape
Man donated a million, and it's just it's so cool.
Speaker 1 (14:54):
I also thought Billy Crystal was so amazing. So he's
up on stage. He described the what it was like
to go back to his home. It had burned to
the ground. He lived there for forty years.
Speaker 9 (15:08):
I stepped onto the grounds and I fell to my
knees and I wailed. I had not cried like that
since I was fifteen years old. And I was told
that my father had just died. And then I heard
screams from my daughter's dad, Dad, Dad, Dad, and my
girls Jenny and Lindsay brought over this rock from a
burnt out garden years ago. I bought these rocks with
one word engraved in them, placed them around our gardens.
(15:29):
They were welcome, patience, dream, and the one I held
in my hands laughter. I learned about the power of
lefto back in nineteen sixty three in our shiver house,
sitting alone, said little Guy. I heard big laughs coming
from the family in our modest living room, and I
came down the hall to see my dear uncle Berna
in the midst of his sorrow, telling stories and doing
(15:52):
magic tricks and making the entire family laugh. And it
changed my life. I knew at that moment, even in
your worst pain, folks, hey, and it's important to laugh.
Speaker 1 (16:03):
Billy Crystal, beautiful words and laughter. I don't think I
can talk right now.
Speaker 6 (16:14):
Feel Good Friday continues next here on the l and

Ellen K, Q and A. And we asked the question
first collared with her right answer is going to Katy
Perry her Lifetimes tour. She was amazing on stage last
night at fire Aid. She uh, she just always slays
on stage.
Speaker 4 (16:58):
I love to you that she was just running like
back and forth on the stage with the California state
flag is so cool.
Speaker 2 (17:04):
She was awesome.
Speaker 1 (17:06):
She is a daughter of the south Land and we're
going to send you there now. We learned this week
on the L and K Q and A the ten
percent of women love overalls on men, but one in
three women say this makes a man look uncool. So
what do you think it is? One in three women
say this makes a man look uncool? It's eight hundred
(17:27):
nine two nine k os T. You're llen k Q
and A. Katie Perry took us before you can buy him.
They go on sale this morning at ten, so grab

Speaker 1 (18:00):
Hi, Paula, Hi, how are you?
Speaker 9 (18:04):
I'm good?
Speaker 1 (18:05):
How are you good? So? Where are you right now?
It sounds like you're in your car. Thanks for having
us on.
Speaker 9 (18:10):
I am.
Speaker 8 (18:10):
I am on my way to work.
Speaker 6 (18:12):
Uh huh.
Speaker 1 (18:13):
Do you want to shout out where you work? Some
people do, others don't.
Speaker 8 (18:16):
I work for my brother with Todd Construction Services.
Speaker 1 (18:19):
Okay? And is his name Todd?
Speaker 8 (18:22):
His name's Glenn?
Speaker 1 (18:23):
Oh? Okay, well so last name Todd? God, how is he
to work with? And four he's awesome to work for.
Speaker 8 (18:31):
He's uh fair, he's honest and very liable.
Speaker 1 (18:37):
That's so great. I love that, all right, Paula, Well,
what do you think it is? One of three women
say this makes a man look uncool? Long fingernails, long fingernails? Yeah,
you know, if too much of the white shows, I
don't know. I don't like long fingernails. I like him, true,
(18:57):
you know, if you play a guitar, maybe, but no disgusting.
What do you think of what do you think of
a buff? Shine?
Speaker 8 (19:07):
As long as it sure? That's fine?
Speaker 1 (19:09):
Okay, all right, So it is long fingernails. That's what
Paula says. It's a great guess and it's been a
nice discussion, but it's not the right answer. I'm sorry.
You have a great day that brother for us. Bye.
Maricela at home in al Monte. Hello, Hi, Hi, So
(19:29):
what do you think it is? One in three women
say this makes a man look uncool?
Speaker 8 (19:33):
Oh right, socks with sandals?
Speaker 1 (19:35):
You know, I don't mind that. Look Ryan, you don't
like it. Socks with sandals, fine, like socks with birken stocks.
I don't mind that at all. No, no, no.
Speaker 4 (19:45):
No, But yesterday, well yesterday you like overall today socks
and sandals.
Speaker 2 (19:50):
Okay, you're right. We listen and we don't judge.
Speaker 1 (19:52):
But here's here's the thing. If a man's not wearing
socks and he is wearing sandals, maybe his toenails aren't
ready to me the world, and so it's better if
they're covered.
Speaker 2 (20:03):
But that's a whole lot of what is How about shoes?
Speaker 1 (20:09):
It's a great guest, Maricela, It's not the right answer. Okay,
thank you, all right, Let's go to Art High Art
in his uber. Thank you for having us on in
your uber.
Speaker 8 (20:20):
Thank you for playing awesome music for us.
Speaker 10 (20:23):
Ellen, I've been listening to you since Rick D's.
Speaker 1 (20:25):
Oh hey, thank you so much.
Speaker 9 (20:27):
Art.
Speaker 1 (20:28):
You know, we just got the results back. We're number
one with Uber and lift drivers and also healthcare workers.
So that was a really cool study we just found.
So thank you for contributing to that art.
Speaker 10 (20:40):
Thank you for making our day.
Speaker 1 (20:42):
Oh you're sweet. What's your guest? So one of three
women say, this makes a man look uncool?
Speaker 11 (20:48):
Spios?
Speaker 4 (20:49):
Nah, speedos like flea last night at fire Aid.
Speaker 1 (20:52):
Yeah, did you see that art? He was on stage
and he was wearing a speedo and a nit cap.
Speaker 6 (20:59):
That was it.
Speaker 8 (21:01):
That's funny and I'm cool.
Speaker 1 (21:03):
So you never rock them?
Speaker 8 (21:04):
Han, Well, I have a dad bond, so I can't
rock speedos anymore.
Speaker 1 (21:10):
I beg to differ art. You can, you know, it
doesn't matter.
Speaker 8 (21:15):
I think it's that.
Speaker 1 (21:20):
All right, Well it's not the right answer, but it's
a great jazz. Thanks art, and we go to Vaileen.
All right, Vaileen, your Belinda. We still don't have the
right answer. One in three women say this makes a
man look I'm cool.
Speaker 6 (21:37):
I'm thinking it might be air pods.
Speaker 1 (21:40):
Air pods, air pods and guess what I'm looking at, man,
two men.
Speaker 6 (21:47):
Who wear them all the time.
Speaker 1 (21:48):
It's air pods.
Speaker 5 (21:49):
You're going to Katy Perry, thank you, super excited.
Speaker 1 (21:56):
We are too, Katy Perry. The Lifetimes Tour amazing at
fire aid last night. I'm just doing so much for
our communities. And there you go. So one of three
women say, it makes a man looking coal and that
is AirPods. Why it's just science. They were pulled. Women
were pulled across the nation and it comes out of
(22:18):
Milan University. So they said, air pods is number one
makes you looking cool?
Speaker 2 (22:24):
Do do you agree with that?
Speaker 1 (22:26):
I mean, okay, so if you're talking on the phone,
that's fine. But if you're just walking around wearing them,
it's like, take them off. Well, I wear them on
a hike, that's allowed. It's fine. Okay.
Speaker 5 (22:36):
Good.
Speaker 4 (22:37):
So now there are places we can and can't wear them.
So if I'm walking down the sidewalk, it's not okay,
But a hike is fine.
Speaker 2 (22:42):
The grocery store. How do we feel about that? Where's
the line here?
Speaker 6 (22:49):
It's the L and K Morning Show.
Speaker 4 (22:51):
This is Caesar from Los Angeles and I'm listening to
Ellen K every day.
Speaker 6 (22:55):
Past one o three point five Top stories, Top of
the hour.
Speaker 1 (22:59):
Good morning, I'm Ellen, and the very latest between that
tragic and fatal mid air crash between the American Airlines
jet and an Army Blackhawk chopper. The National Transportation Safety
Board is leading a probe. Both of the black boxes
have been retrieved. Fifty recovery divers on the scene right now.
The NTSB says a preliminary report should come in about
(23:20):
thirty days. Fire Aid was a huge success last night
here at the Into a Dome and also the Kia Forum.
Kanye and Steve Balmer going to match every dollar. They
went into the shows with sixty million already in the kitty.
And speaking of that, Katy Perry, she was one of
the performers. And there's a little girl who was there
at Fire Aid, eleven year old Audrey. She raised money
(23:42):
for the fire victims with her lemonade stand. She brought
the money to the Into a Dome and she was
just one of thousands of people who attended that concert.
She just wanted to see Katy Perry on stage, so
Gail King lured her backstage to talk to her a
little bit and saying congratulations, And then this happened.
Speaker 2 (24:01):
Do you have a favorite Katie Perry.
Speaker 6 (24:03):
Song California Girl?
Speaker 9 (24:04):
Oh?
Speaker 6 (24:05):
I wonder if she'd sing go cat live you girls,
Oh my god, oh my god.
Speaker 1 (24:16):
So heartwarming and you feel good Friday? And what about
this Wildlife officials used apples and peanut butter to rescue
a five hundred and twenty five pound bear found hiding
underneath a home that was evacuated during the eat and fire.
When those evacuations were lifted and the owner of this
home returned, well, the bear was residing in the crawl
space and workers need to access that. So everyone's okay,
(24:39):
the bear is fine. In a related story, Edison has
a rate hike that has been approved to cover some
of the damages for these fires. Another cooler day on
deck to close the month Sunday, though his around sixty five.
We're going to warm up to seventy by Sunday. A
beautiful weekend ahead right now forty five erbank. We run
on Celsia's energy drinks Kost Los Angeles, Coast one O
(25:01):

to miss coming up plus your cash on Coast Thursday.

fabulous day and I love listening to you guys in

Speaker 1 (25:18):
Five Friday, and we're here with Brian and Stephanie soon
to be the Micshay's welcome. Thank you, We're so happy
you guys are here. I saw your story and I
was so touched by it because you lost everything in
the eating fire.
Speaker 7 (25:36):
Almost everything.
Speaker 5 (25:36):
She got the pets out.
Speaker 1 (25:38):
Okay, all right, evacuated, shocked, sad, trying to find some
kind of hope.
Speaker 5 (25:47):
Absolutely.
Speaker 1 (25:48):
Yeah, So I saw you went back to your pile
of ashes, which used to be your home, and you
were looking for something special. Brian tell us about it.
Speaker 7 (25:58):
Absolutely. I had bought an engagement ring about almost a
month prior, and it was stashed in the back of
my desk drawer and which she didn't know about. And
at one point she'd even said after she'd evacuated, because
I was out of town when that she evacuated, she said,
you know, if I'm able to go back, let me
know if you want me to get anything important. And
I thought about being like, Okay, there's a plastic bag
(26:20):
in the back of my drawer, don't look aside it.
But so when we went back to the ashes, I mean,
that was the only thing for me that I was
really really concerned with finding, and I thought I was
looking for a stone. I thought that the ring was
going to disintegrate. Yeah, and you know it was really
didn't think I was going to even find the stone,
(26:40):
but yeah, I mean I was on my knees and
I you know, you uncover a ring and has the
shiny diamond at the end of it. I mean, I
could not believe. I could not believe to be seeing
anything that was intact, let alone you know the most
important thing.
Speaker 1 (26:53):
And Stephanie, it was so moving when Brian when you
got down on your knee and the ashes, and and
he asked you, first of all, would you have looked
in the bag if you had the opportunity. I mean
I would like to say no, but I think nine
of us would appease. What what your story is is
(27:20):
just hope. It's it's hope for everyone who who lost
so much and then to find this, I mean literally
a diamond in the rough.
Speaker 7 (27:27):
I think about our neighbors a lot. I mean the
day that we were searching, you know, everybody on our lane.
You know, we saw our neighbors coming in and it
was very solemn.
Speaker 6 (27:36):
D We haven't even like talked to you know who.
We just see and acknowledge we're giving hugs and crying
with Yeah.
Speaker 7 (27:44):
So, I mean, I'm really hoping that our neighbors have
you know, the means and the energy to go back
and find their own things. And you know, it takes
a lot of support.
Speaker 1 (27:52):
These people.
Speaker 7 (27:52):
We've received a lot of support which we really appreciate,
which has made a lot of this possible. And we
really hope that people can continue to support all to
day and help it rebuild, help our neighbors rebuild.
Speaker 1 (28:02):
Yeah, and you're still so selfless, you know, you're worried
about everyone else.
Speaker 7 (28:05):
Because we want to go back and live in all
the time.
Speaker 2 (28:07):
Yeah, we want to.
Speaker 1 (28:08):
We want to soak that place up.
Speaker 7 (28:09):
The place was incredible, what a special community.
Speaker 1 (28:11):
Yeah, we wanted to help you out with some things
that might come up. So we have some gifts for you,
oh way, just to build your lives together and to
find a little bit of fine. Yeah, So we would

Speaker 1 (28:37):

So Irving Azof has agreed to come on our show
next week to talk about all the totals fire aid
has raised. You can still donate. It's fireadla dot org.
Sixty million raised before the show even began. I loved
seeing all the pre interviews. You've got Kanye and Steve
Balmer standing right next to the Azov's Shelley and Irving,
(33:14):
and they were right there. Just what they did was
they dropped everything in their lives to make this happen.
These are busy people, but they also have great connections.
So Irving Azov calls Rod Stewart first, Rod's like, yes,
I'll be there, and then everything just came together. I'm
astonished at what they did. So we're gonna get all
(33:35):
of the totals, but keep on donating. It just feels
good that the whole city's coming together. Yeah, red hot
chili peppers. Just the fabric of La. Yep, there's flee
in his underwear.
Speaker 2 (33:47):
What was he in.
Speaker 4 (33:48):
Speaking of fabric of La, He had no fabric like
a is that a speedo or just.

Well we're the L and K Morning Show. And so
many of the victims of the plane and helicopter crasher
being identified. It's just heartbreaking when you see their faces,
the crews and the they're just so so many, so
many souls. And this is a man whose son and
(34:59):
wife both died in the crash. He said, it just
felt like a nightmare. His wife is Christine, sixteen year
old Spencer, his adopted son, Spencer was on the figure
skating team.
Speaker 11 (35:12):
We create our family through adoption, so our two sons
are adopted from South Korea. Spencer, who was on the flight,
who was our oldest son, came home in two thousand
and eight, and it was really just kind of a
force of nature. And Christine is, you know, just a beautiful,
(35:32):
creative person. She volunteers at animal rescues and kind of
just felt like a nightmare and was hoping I would
wake up and it would be that. But it's a
new reality that we just have to work through togethers Flou.
Speaker 1 (35:47):

Be safe, Remember to laugh, Billy Crystal, we love what
you said last night on stage at fire Aid.
Speaker 9 (36:35):
I stepped onto the grounds and I fell to my
knees and I wailed. I had not cried like that
since I was fifteen years old. And I was told
that my father had just died. And then I heard
screams from my daughter's dad, Dad, Dad, Dad, and my
girls Jenny and Lindsay brought over this rock from a
burnt out garden years ago. I bought these rocks with
one word engraved and then placed them around our gardens.
(36:56):
They were welcome, patience, dream, and the one I held
in my hands laughter. I learned about the power of
left back in nineteen sixty three in our Shiva house,
sitting alone, said little Guy, I heard big laughs coming
from the family in our modest living room, and I
came down the hall to see my dear uncle Berna,
in the midst of his sorrow, telling stories and doing
(37:19):
magic tricks and making the entire family laugh.
Speaker 6 (37:21):
And it changed my life.
Speaker 9 (37:22):
I knew at that moment, even in your worst pain, folks,
it's okay and it's important to laugh.
Speaker 1 (37:30):
Usually we give you a quote of the day, but
that is it right there, So kiss on three, kiss
on me one two three me
